Speaker 1 (00:03):
It's the day Ryan in the Morning Show where you're
never more than thirty minutes away from Winnie and Katie.
WB's ultimate ticket wore the roses wrapped up that. I
just want to say thank you to Ovo Lasik and
Lens because it's always brought to you by Ovo Lasic
and Lens. If you ever need some help with your eyes,
go check them out. I've been to their place. It's
right off. It's only a few minutes away from the
(00:23):
radio station. It is like the mothership of Lasiks. It's
beautiful staff there is amazing. I went into check to
see if I needed Lasik one time, but apparently I
have perfect eyes, so rough I know, So go check
out the Ovo lasc and LUNs. Bailey looked outside a
little bit ago and she's like, god, it's dark out today.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, it's like dark dark too.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
Yeah it's pretty gloomy out there, just.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Cloudy, but dark and cloudy.
Speaker 4 (00:49):
But I saw I think today or some or next
week maybe in New York, the sun is going to
set at five pm, which means that we're getting closer
to daylight saving and like actual life and no more
seasonal depression.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Thank god.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yeah, it will be nice when the sun doesn't come
like the people that work, you're like nine to five,
eight to four kind of job, y'all. Are I just
feel so bad for you because you literally start your
day with darkness, and you and your dead.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
It with darkness. Yes, so sad.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
We just our entire day is pretty much darkness until
we get off of work, and yeah, we can to
see the l and then it's like wow. Okay, coming up,
we're gonna do Jenny's been on Reddit. I'm gonna talk
about body language and what you can do to show
that you are confident.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Okay, We're going to teach you a little lesson here.
That's next.
Speaker 5 (01:35):
Jenny's been on Reddit, all right.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Today we're going to talk about having some confidence involving
your body language. Okay, so these are just someone asked
specifically what body language shows that you are confident. So
here are some of the top answers that I found
from Reddit. First is slow down your movements. Screening around
rarely comes off as confident, so that's one of them. Okay,
(02:01):
posture is crucial. Now I will say I I'm always
hunch backed during the morning show. I'm never sitting up straight.
But yes, posture is crucial. I would say in an
important meeting, I'm sitting up for sure. You know, I
think that that's like obviously something that.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
You should do.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
So you don't want to give off the wrong impression, right,
they're not interested.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Another one is eye contact. You've got to be making
good eye contact. Try to remain composed even when anxious
s frazzled or frustrated. Now, as an anxious human myself,
I will say that sometimes it's pretty hard to do that.
But there have been plenty of times where I've been
so extremely anxious and not a single person in the
room hadn't any idea. Because I like hit it as
(02:45):
well as things like being attractive always helps people great.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
I'm going to work on that, Okay, got it.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
So these are a body language, just things with your
body language that show confidence, and we already touched on this,
but this is a little bit more specific. Maintaining good
eye contact is a big one because it shows you're
engaged and self assured. When you're standing tall and your
shoulders are back and your head held high. It also
projects confidence plus and this is something I've had to
(03:13):
work on through the years.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
A firm handshake.
Speaker 6 (03:16):
Yes.
Speaker 5 (03:17):
My mom like forced that upon us when we were
kids and would bring us to work and we would
have to shake her coworker's hands and she would be like,
you have to shake it like kind of not forcefully,
but you know, like firm, and so me and my
sister are really good at handshakes, and some people are not.
Really they're really bad. Yes, it can't be flimsy.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
It can't be flimsy, and it can't be like like
half your hand, like you have to go all the
way into the palm like it has to go, you know, yeah,
like a like.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
A clap and a firm shake.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
Shake, yes, yes, yes, versus just like here, like hold
my hand for a moment because I hate those handshakes too,
or it's just a handhold.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
I have a friend who she had something and I
know that there's a technical term for it, but her
hands sweat really bad. Every other part of her body
is very normal, but she has like really sweaty hands,
and she eventually had surgery done to fix it somehow,
which usually that means that the sweat goes to a
different part of your body, right, But she was so embarrassed,
like she was in college shaking people's hands, you know,
(04:14):
like interviewing for jobs.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Yeah, just it's not because she was nervous, she just.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Had the.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Hands.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Another way to show confidence via your body language is
sticking a toothpick in the corner of your mouth and
walking like your Aceventura. Why, but I will say that, like,
I mean, I think of it in movies realistically, when
like a guy has a toothpick in his mouth, sometimes
it's like super hot, you know.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
So yeah, it does.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
I get that. I get that. Yeah, I get that.
I get that.
Speaker 1 (04:48):
Now this one doesn't really work for most people. And
it also I think is just a joke. But they
say walking around like your teas have lasers and you're
shooting everyone with your tea lasers.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's the whole like posture thing
is imagining.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
Yeah, your teas have lasers.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
I always tell like people because I always I really
agree with the one about eye contact, and that obviously,
like eye contact is not something that's super easy for everybody.
So if you don't like making eye contact into actual
people's eyes, just look like at their eyelashes or their
eyebrows and they're not going to know any different. Now,
I will, okay, great, because you don't like making eye contact.
(05:27):
You always avoid eye contact when I talk to you.
Not true, but okay, oh, okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
A couple more here.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Let's see which one have I not gotten to walk
into a room like you own the place, even if
it's the janitor's closet. It's so true, just like, pretend
like you know what's going on even if you don't.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
Yeah, nobody I can until you make it.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
I was to say, that's something you learn in adulthood, Like,
I feel like you probably haven't quite gotten to this
phase in life where you learn that a lot of
people at their jobs are faking it and you think that,
like at least I did. Coming out of college. I
was like, everyone knows everything. I'm never going to be
good at my job the way other people are. And
then I learned really quickly that most people are consistently
(06:09):
learning new things. Yes, I don't always know what's going on. Yeah,
so faking it till you make.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
It unless you've been there for like fifteen years, you
don't know what you're.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Doing, yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
This last one's kind of a story. It says this
might not work for everyone, but they knew a guy
in school. He wouldn't shy away from leaning in close
to hear you better, and he wouldn't shy away from
touching you casually. One time I was showing a girlfriend
this new necklace I received for my birthday, and he
walked up halfway through the conversation.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Leaned in and brushed my hair back.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
He then wrapped both of his hands around my neck
to have a closer look. And in that moment, I
realized three things simultaneously. My neck is really sensitive, I'm
really attracted to this guy. And you can absolutely get
hot and bothered by the most innocent of touches.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Okay, this is a very random one.
Speaker 1 (06:55):
It was a revelation, and what I am saying, well,
the point is he is a very confident guy, and
it was just all about his demeanor and everything that
like he did with it. He probably was attractive to
It's kind of what I'm reading into.
Speaker 5 (07:09):
I mean, I can't imagine a man just like grabbing
my neck and making that not weird.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
I feel like the way.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
She described it probably is not the way that it
actually happened.
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Oh gosh, there you go. That's it for Jenny's been
on Reddit.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
All right, coming up next on Dave's Dirt, somebody is
teasing new music. This person has been out of the
game for a little bit, but people still love him.
That's the only clue I'm going to give you. They
love him, and I think a lot of people are excited.
Now we'll talk about who that.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Is next.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Coming up. We are just actually going to get right
into this.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Justin Bieber is the one who is teasing a new
project on Instagram.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Here's some audio of it.
Speaker 6 (07:46):
But just go out in the Knife looking good ones.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I feel like we're controlled.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
Yeah, I don't really know, but Voon said that the video,
didn't you say? It's of him like playing that or something.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
He's in an I don't know if it's his car
or an uber or something, but he's just in a
car and this is playing.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
It's kind of giving like the demonic Doja Cat that
we were getting like a year or so ago, creepy.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
I kind of don't want that.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
If that's what we're getting, bring us back Peaches or
baby Beauty in the beat baby ooh Beauty and the beat.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
That was a good wasp. Yeah, I feel like we're
getting trolled. That doesn't seem like real life.
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Well, we all know that TikTok might be banned coming
up in a few days, but someone just decided to
join it four days before it gets banned.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Bob Dylan.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Bob Dylan.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Yeah, wow, Bob Dylan.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
He's eighty three years old and he's right in the
wave of renewed popularity thanks to the new biopic A
Complete and Known that's starring Timothy Shallomy. So apparently Bob
Dylan got onto TikTok, which if you've seen the movie
or you know much about Bob Dylan's life, that's kind
of shocking to me about him because he just doesn't
seem like someone who cares about things like social media.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
But with that Twitter, with that one, I feel like
it's not actually Bob Dylan who's on TikTok.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
It's like his people who are on TikTok. But did
nobody tell them?
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Yeah, did anyone tell that? Why would even waste your
time banning that? And they're like, Bob, Bob, look at
the camera, Look at the camera.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Bob.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Coming up this weekend on Saturday Night Live, Dave Chappelle's
gonna be hosting with musical guest Glowilla, and I will
say I don't watch SNL. I only watched the clips
afterwards that go viral, usually as it goes for me.
But I'm definitely going to pay attention to this because A.
Dave Chappelle is one of the best comedians in my opinion,
and B.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Glow Rilla is so funny just because, like I.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
Don't know the interviews I've seen with her, She's just
she's a character and like different than like your Cardi
B's or.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Your Nicki Minaj.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
That's what I was going to ask you, Like, she's.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
Very different than them. I don't know exactly how to
describe it, but she has a is she from Tennessee?
But do you know, I forget where she's from, but
her accent, some of the words she says are.
Speaker 3 (09:59):
So funny, and I know she's from Tennessee.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yes, yeah, she's She's been on podcast interviews and all
this stuff, and people will just like repeat what she
says back and she doesn't care, like it's like they're
making fun of her, but she doesn't look at.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
It that way.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
Sure, you know, So we'll see how that guy.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
Honestly, I've never heard of her before, but I'm sure
I might know.
Speaker 3 (10:19):
I might know a song or to know a song
or two of hers.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
I just love her.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Full name is.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
I was about to say, Jenny, guess what it is.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
We were on the same vibe, Jenny, guess what Gloria's
name is?
Speaker 5 (10:30):
Her full name, like real name her, Like you know,
Gloria god given Estefan.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
Say, Gloria, Look you guess.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
The rest, Gloria Lynn.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Because your middle name is You're so close? So close?
Is it's Gloria Hallelujah? Woods, Gloria Hallelujah. What on it?
Somebody really like church?
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (10:55):
Gloria Hallelujah. I love it.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
They were playing so hot one or two five is
one of the stations here with our iHeart Media clan,
and we have a bunch of stations that are associated
with us here in the Twin Cities. And I walk
it out of work the other day in common Who's
on K fan? He goes, what is this? And I'm like,
what do you mean? He goes, come here and listen
to this, And so the radio stations in the building,
(11:20):
they rotate over the basically the speaker in our offices.
And I listened, and I can tell us Gloilla and
so I'm like, oh, it's Hot one or two five
that's playing right now, and he goes, yeah, but who
is that? And I go it's Glowilla. He goes, what.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
What is this?
Speaker 6 (11:35):
Do?
Speaker 3 (11:36):
People listen?
Speaker 5 (11:38):
Like, man, she's got some bops, so like, yeah, you're
sounding old, okay and uncultured.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Please.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
But I will say that the first time I ever
heard of her, I know she was already popular before this,
was when Rihanna sang one of her songs and was
just like goofing around with accept acept bracky.
Speaker 3 (11:53):
Right, that's he That's the first time I ever heard
of her.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
And then I feel like she really blew up from there,
even though she had kind of gained some popularity since then. Okay,
let's get to t Paine's new song that he's dropping.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Called Believe In Yuh. I like it.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
Yeah, I'm definitely gonna listen to the whole song when
it comes out.
Speaker 4 (12:18):
I know what I told you, it's giving, It's giving
What a Night by flow Rider.
Speaker 6 (12:26):
Er.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
Don't worry, We've already made fun of vont earlier for saying, oh,
what a night.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Is brought to you by floor Rider, So I remember
as a kid, I thought that Michael Jackson was the
one who did come together and it's the Beatles, and
my mom roasted me. And I still think about my
mom roasting me for that.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
I was like, how would I know? How am I
supposed to know? So I won't roast Yvont It was
just kind of he he. That's funny.
Speaker 6 (12:50):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
You know when you go to a restaurant you order fries,
they also have waffle fries on the menu, and you
somehow get like a waffle fry with your fries sometimes
and it's kind of like, yes, look at this little tree. Well,
someone went to Burger King and she got a side
of something else with her chicken fries. She was not
expecting here she was talking about it.
Speaker 3 (13:06):
Went to Burgcinge tonight, got my kids some chicken fries.
This bag king. If you look down in there.
Speaker 2 (13:12):
You can see some residue. She got her chicken fries.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Chicken fries with the side of Do you see that?
Speaker 2 (13:18):
You can't say that on here Mary Jane from Burger King.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, so there was some weed. How did she know that?
Speaker 2 (13:24):
That's what? Does she smell?
Speaker 1 (13:25):
It?
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Like?
Speaker 2 (13:26):
How would you know?
Speaker 1 (13:27):
I haven't seen the video, But I would assume you
can tell what weed is if it's like mixed.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
In your bag me not knowing.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I'm like, yeah, I think you should probably just know.
It could have been a spice, but I don't really.
Speaker 2 (13:40):
I don't know. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Maybe the person at the drive through was trying to
hook someone up with some weed and like the wrong person,
by the.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
Way, got you some weed in there with them chicken fries.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Now, some people might be upset by that, and some
people might be really hyped. It just depends, like sweet,
all right, that's it for Dave's Dirt.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Coming up in like, let's twenty minutes.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
You are going to get your next keyword for Katiewbe's
Ultimate Ticket, so stick around for that. And then tomorrow
it's Friday, Yay, So of course we're gonna play mixtape game.
We're gonna do it a little bit earlier because we
have our buddy Benjamin coming in to play with us,
So that's gonna be at seven thirty five. Benjamin also
hosts one of my favorite games that we play on
the show only when he's in, which is called Benjamin's
(14:20):
Time Machine. So we'll do that at seven twenty and
no phone screen or Friday will still happen, of course,
It's just gonna be a little bit later, so tune
in tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Thanks for listening. We'll see you then
