Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, greetings, and welcome to another episode of Off the Air,
the weekly podcast from the Lynch and Taco Show here
at one O one one w j r R in Orlando.
I Pat Linch Taco Bob. You're doing all right there, buddy?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yep. I had to do this walk of shame back
from the restroom right before we went in to do
the podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
What happened?

Speaker 2 (00:20):
I had to take a pee. I hadn't been a while.
I put the dribble stick away before, so I had
to do the walk down the hall where you know
you kind of pull your shirt over your shorts that
have the wet marks all over.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
You had p mature ejaculation.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yes, I did. I put her away too quick.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Happens to the best of us. Buddy, Oh, I thought
you were going over there to grab towels or something.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Uh, if you're listening to this after the fact, you
just know that as we do this live, and I
know some of you are on Facebook live with us,
anybody else already getting her coverage fatigue and the storm
hasn't even really arrived yet in the state of Florida. Man,
it is It's something, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
If I see another reporter in front of a pile
of sand. It is it's look, just say this is
where you can get sandbags and have a link, and
then stop talking about it.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
We we fully don't don't. We're not downplaying Hurricane Helen
or the potential dangers or any of that. It's a
big storm. It is a big storm. And we're both
Florida natives, so we're very used to this, you know,
whole thing unfolding, the before, during, and after and how
it goes. But man, the news has just got to

(01:44):
the point where they keep repeating the same stuff over
and over and over, and it's like, okay, we get that.
How about just you know, let us know if anything
has changed or there's updates or anything, please bring us
that info. But like you said, how many times can
you see the same reporter standing in front of that

(02:04):
pile of sand?

Speaker 2 (02:05):
Ah twenty scoops have gone out of it now, right.
I made the mistake yesterday. I thought, lately I've been
getting confused on whether whether it's Wednesday or Thursday.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
You might have to get you some prevaging.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
No, no, no, not to that levelay, no, but what happened?
So yesterday I was thinking it was Thursday. So what
do I do on Thursdays? I go to publics and
get the meat report. The meat ads to some recognisance,
so I go grab the meat ad and but before
I could get there, I drove through the parking lot.

(02:42):
What the hell is going on? He was hurricane hurricane
craziness at the at the local grocery stores. I talked
to somebody whose wife went to Costco said it was
a complete shit show.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
I you know, and this it all. It never ceases
to amaze me. And you know, you've got folk are
programmed to, you know, have certain things in case you
get in an emergency situation because of the hurricane, where
a you loose power, b you might be stuck where
you're at for a while, and see you need supplies

(03:15):
to you know, sustain yourself. Dude, it's freaking Florida. It's
still the hot time of year. What household or Floridian
doesn't have water at home?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It could be where somebody because I did run out
of water last week and had to specifically go and
make a trip for water bottles. But I didn't go
buy water bottles while I was there grabbing the wrong
meat ads. I just grabbed sushi. What a dumb ass.
I even knew that it was Wednesday because it was
sushi Wednesday.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
It's last week's ads still and then I know.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
But I still thought it was Thursday in my head,
even though I was going there for Wednesday. God anyway,
side parking lot was crazy. I was at the Walmart
right before or that stop stop are grabbing beer. That
place was a zoo. It's always a zoo, but it
was extra.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
I just I'm like, really, are there that many people
who all of a sudden realize I don't have anything
to survive if the power goes out for a couple
of days.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Man, there, come on, there was chunky soup in the
bogo rack and I didn't grab it, just an excuse
to grab some chunky.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
You can't go wrong with chunky soup there. So our
message is, uh, you know, first and foremost, just you know,
use some common sense. Just use some common sense, and
we'll get through this. We always do. And those of
you who are in the areas that already have water
sitting on the ground because of the previous you know,
heavy rains, we feel for you.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Yeah, no doubt, no doubt. So I think in our
immediate area. That's that's the main concern, those those inundated
flooded areas, and hopefully the rains that do come with
this will move quickly through and not just sit on
top of those already soaked areas.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Oh it's gonna move through fast, is what they're saying.
Because look, as big as that storm is, in case
you haven't seen the footage, it's six hundred and something
miles across. As big as it is, they're saying two
to four inches isolated.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Five for what's in the metro Orlando are exactly.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
So that's they say two to four it's probably gonna
be about one to two inches because that thing's hauling.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
And also the keyword isolated. Some area might get slammed,
another may get nothing. So you all know how it goes.
Just use some common sense out there.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Be safe, and you know, if you're in a flooded
a flood prone area, go park your car your friend's house.
That's not you know, right, because that sucks. Man. I've
been drying out of car that my parents gave me
and uh, that's that's not a fun thing. And the
guy who's a listener of our show actually at Holler said.
He's like, ah, here's the trick. Do this, do this,

(06:01):
do this, he said, because all those cars off university,
you know where our friend Teresa lives, all that, all
those cars got flooded up, you know, to the to
the doors. So he told me good tips to dry
her out. She's dry now, Pat.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
In case you're wondering, awfully nice of your parents to
give you a car.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
Yeah, well they gave my brother one too, so it
was just a.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Can they adopt me anyone?

Speaker 2 (06:29):
It was at their house. They wanted it fixed in
twenty sixteen. It's not like anyway. It's what I'm in
a dilemma on that. Do I keep that?

Speaker 1 (06:41):
The leaky car? Do I keep that?

Speaker 2 (06:45):
And knee drive? It's a Honda Fit you know.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
That is one of those little cars.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
Yeah, so it's not electric green and that bullshit, but
it's which is cool if you have one of those whatever.
But it's small, so I kind of don't want to
put my daughters in it in case they're in a.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Big I thought Hondas are very safe cars.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
They are, but not when they're the size of my
shoe box. So I've got to figure that out. My
wife's been driving big truck for a month and a half.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Why don't you get your truck back?

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Is?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Aren't you ready to have your truck back?

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, but there's systems. I'm waiting to see if Big Blue,
the car I've been driving, if the AC is gonna
die yet. I'm driving it until the AC three on
runs out. Then gonna get the AC fixed if possible,
and unload it and give it to my daughter. If
I get fixed.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
Oh, okay, give it back.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
To my other. I don't know, car Lemma.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
You know what Plenty of Fish is, right.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah, it's a site where you go get take.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
It ass dating.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah, you know. If you're going there, you're getting laid.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Plenty of Fish is predicting what they think will be
the top dating trends going into next year. Top Dating,
the top dating trends that will go in. They've got
some interesting names for these. I know you always like
to add these to the rolodex of terminology. No, you

(08:11):
don't have to. I think we should go through them though.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Yeah, I want to go through them. I just don't
want to get up to get my phone.

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Those who are single, are you know, just keeping a
side piece. You might want to know about these, and
I would it's probably mixed results on if if you
experience this.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
They're going to come back up. I'll put my feet
down and grab my phone and type them in. That's necessary.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Let's start with number they got five of these. We'll
start with the fifth one and then get up to
the top one. Which it makes sense that what they
list would be number one because I can see a
lot of people.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Okay, this all right?

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Number five is stiticking, I'm not right, sticking, sticking.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
To being too clinging, sticking is going into its dates.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Yeah, it's dating stuff, dating trends.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Here, hitting them with a stick.

Speaker 1 (09:05):
No, the key part here is icking.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Icking they're going to play kickball.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
No, this is pursuing someone after looking past an initial,
an initial ick or something superficial you don't like about them.
Thirty six percent of single folks despite someone just you
look into someone going oh that's pretty ick. Well I'll
go out with them anyway.

Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah, like you know, the big eyelash, isn't it whatever?
It could take those off at one point, so it'll
stick to it.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Anything. Then they list being smutting, being smutten, that's.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Just being it's it's probably playing off of being smitten,
which is like, Oh, I'm smitten for somebody.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
No, this is when you fantasize about things from shows
or movie happening in real life to you. Oh, smut smutten.
So you've watched whatever it is on TV. It could
be a porn it could just be a situation comedy.
Go man, I really wish that would happen to me.
I could. Thirty three percent overall have done it. Most

(10:18):
of them women tend to be smutten, hoping things they
see on TV will actually play out for them in
their dating life. And eight percent of the guys say,
you know, I've been smutting and I hope such and
such happens.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
Number three is trying to think of shows that I
could equate that too. I'm watching Monsters, which is the
Menendez brother.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
You don't want any of the stuff happening on that show?
Do You don't want to be smutting with any of that?

Speaker 2 (10:48):
No, that I know your wife's watching that show. That
was the most graphic shooting scene. I think I've seen
the dad's head. Did you see that?

Speaker 1 (10:58):
No?

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Oh my god.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
To reenactment though, right, yeah, it reenactments.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I don't care it looks so realistic.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Grim keeping, grim keeping dating trend for twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
Grim keeping keeping them Even though there's a dark past,
you're close.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
This is when you bond with someone over your darker
side or shared dislikes. Twenty eight percent of single folks
say they have bonded with someone over a mutual hatred
of something.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Oh that's pretty two peas in a pod.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
It's pretty sad if you're that negative that you're bonding
with somebody you're dating over something that you.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Hate, dislike, or something you hate.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Number two is freak matching. Freak matching said to be
big in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
That's you're freak and involves your freak, and you're one
match up if somebody has a similar freak.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Win or winter. Connecting with someone over shared quirks or
general weirdness. Almost forty percent say yeah, that that'll work.

Speaker 2 (12:09):
So I'd have to find some chick if I was
dating that likes to use the bathroom, not like Sue.
It does it a lot.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Not a freak keyword, water sports or scat. But if
you really want to go down that road, talk.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
That's not a freak, you know, oh it is in
my book.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
I don't know what circle of the universe you're in.

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Glenn, Uh messaged in, said hi from New Zealand. Right on.
Thanks for rocking over there, Thanks for tuning in. Also Steve,
and sorry my dude's being absent on the Real Show
this morning. The on air onond no pressure stuff comes up.
He lives over at the coast, over at Daytona, So
it's like, you got some winds and season stuff you're

(12:49):
dealing with. Even on the other side, it'll be okay. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Number one dating trend for twenty twenty five. This does
not surprise me in the least. It is something called
yapp trap, yap trapping.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Yeap trapping, yep trap scene.

Speaker 4 (13:09):
People that like to talk all the time, People who
like to talk all the time exclusively about themselves on
a date and don't ask any questions about the person
they're out on the date with.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Almost fifty percent of singles have dated a yap trapper before.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
I can name one. And we're gonna be stuck in
a fucking car with him fork over two hours today.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Uh. You know when I when I see stuff like
this and I've really had this mindset, probably going on
easily fifteen years at this point, since you know, the
dating apps have become so prevalent and stuff what I see,
stuff like, I just I'm so thankful, so thankful I

(13:54):
don't have to deal with any of this stuff. About
to celebrate my thirtieth anniverse with my wife.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
And put on the flip side all the stuff that
you do have to deal with with the marriage side.

Speaker 1 (14:07):
I wouldn't trade it for anything. No, I would not
trade it for anything.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
I wouldn't even I couldn't even comprehend if something were
to go sideways and I had to get back out there.

Speaker 2 (14:21):
I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Deal with any of this crap or attitudes or much
less the way you even try to meet someone these days.
I I don't want to bother with it.

Speaker 2 (14:31):
Plus then you don't, then you're gotta look at the
that disease, you know, because they were saying, what what
was it? Was it calamity that was on the rise again?

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Yes, and guclamydia huh Yeah, I just it's.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Called fear porn the wild wild West out there, man,
Yeah it is.

Speaker 1 (14:55):
So that's about all I got this week on my
agenda and anything you wanted to bring up there.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
Man, you know me, I always have stuff, but uh,
I guess I'm gonna I'm not even I'm not even
like preparing. And I don't mean to sound bad, but
I'm not even really preparing for the storm. I'm not
taking any shit.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
No, I'm not. I just to me. And again, you
all make your own decisions. Don't go off anything we say.
I'm drawing comparisons here locally, locally to.

Speaker 2 (15:27):
The Maitland where we're standing.

Speaker 1 (15:29):
Yeah, the Debbie deal from August, remember right after school
had started this year. It was like a week after
school started that had that Debbie on a very similar path.
And we went through the whole exercise again, shutting down,
this shutting down that shortened hours here, all all that stuff,
the sandbag routine, all that, and then what happened.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
I think that was just a tropical storm too.

Speaker 1 (15:53):
Regardless, it was there was literally aside from some heavy downpours,
which again, if if you ended up getting stuck under
one of those and your area flooded out, you feel differently,
and I get that, But overall it was a nothing burger. Yeah,
And I'm not saying this is going to be a
nothing Burger.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
This is gonna be a wallut Burger for the farm pit,
like the you know, the.

Speaker 1 (16:15):
Big bend, Yeah, big bend up there. I don't wish
this upon anyone, but yeah, no, I'm not gonna I'm
not gonna go home and start boarding up or anything
like that. Not here in this area preparation.

Speaker 2 (16:26):
Whenever I'm prepping for a hurricane, I just think back
to the time that somebody told me to put your
table you know, you're outside table in the pool.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Get your pool furniture.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Yeah, the pool.

Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
But and I threw the table in there. You know
the ones that have the shatterproof glass.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
I threw it in downside and it was not shouderproof.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
You had broken glasses, yes, yes, and my.

Speaker 2 (16:54):
Pool guys, whor'd all those clothes come from? I said,
do you remember that table over there? Take a look
at her a little closer. We got to put a
board on it now to eat.

Speaker 1 (17:06):
By the way, could you get the frame of the
table out of there for me?

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah? Skim him that up. Well, No, I went and
got that. That was a dumb ass movie there. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
A couple of times all that, and then when I
was walking too close to the edge of the pool
with the grill.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Remember I fell in with it. I mean luckily it
wasn't on with food on it.

Speaker 1 (17:27):
How you get yourself in these situations? Dude?

Speaker 2 (17:31):
Yeah, getting the grill out of the pool was not fun.

Speaker 1 (17:36):
Maybe I'll stop on the way home today and just
buy like nine cases of water so I feel like
I'm you know, yeah, people love that.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Hey, if you're in one of our areas like that,
like I have some friends that live in Tallahassee, be careful.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Yeah, please please. You know what you need to do
to be safe, So do it.

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Do it.

Speaker 1 (17:57):
Yeah, that's that's the key. We want everybody to uh
be back with us next time we.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Gather, which is tomorrow morning.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Yes, all right, have a great day or night or
