Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm gonna have to do some spring cleaning before our

(00:02):
Easter brunch at our house, and Curtis, I want you
coming over there and doing all kinds of bragging.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Yeah, we need a lot of ooing and aa. Okay,
but have you heard about spring digital cleaning? That's interesting?
Oh my god, I need to declutter my inbox.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
What's that like? Getting rid of websites and stuff you
ain't got going on?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
There's a new no, no, there's a new survey out
on digital clutter, and it found that the average American
has are you ready for this? One forty four unread emails, yeah,
Twelve unread text messages. Now, I don't have that. I

(00:43):
don't have that.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
I don't have that, you, Curtis, Uh No, I don't
play that.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Seventeen unread social media notification.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
Yeah, I'm sure I have.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Oh I gave up on that. Yeah, the notification stuff. Yeah.
Fifteen open browser tabs thatally used to be guilty of this. Yeah,
how many do you have open right now? One to three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. Okay.
At one point on your laptop when it wasn't working
that well, I took a look at it. Curtis, it

(01:14):
was like, do you even know how to close a browser?
Because I had to put my glasses on the sea
because there must have been oh my god, they were
so tiny because they kept stacking up. There must have
been thirty things open. I'm like, close a browser, woman,
that's not untrue. Let's see. Also nine unused smartphone apps. Yeah,
I've got I probably gotta oh my gosh, I've got

(01:36):
probably twenty that I've never even used, and two pending
software updates. I know I have one right now. Yeah,
I probably have at least one. But yeah, so this
is digital spring cleaning.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
I think I'm the equivalent of like a mo with
this stuff, like you know how you like to clean
in real life. Yeah, I can't be having you know,
I don't have no notifications, I can't be having unread
emails all that kind of stuff. I gotta have it gone.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Okay, So you're not guilty of.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Not most of this stuff, because I know people when
I look at their phones, and it's most people they have,
you know, ten thousand something unread emails all up in stuff,
and I'm like stressed. I'm like I want to throw
the phone away, like it's evil.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Uh huh Oh you're not gonna like what I'm about
to tell you. On our AOL account, I just click
ones we do have okay in the inbox. Now I
will say this, we only have five hundred and twenty
one unread emails, right, so we're a little below the average.
Well yeah, yeah, below average, But we have forty four thousand,
six hundred and seventy one emails in our inbox. Yeah,

(02:37):
but like they're read. They're not, they're not unread. But
I mean, why do we still have forty four thousand
emails in there?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
You might feel like they're important one day. That's how
that works.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
I have some day and get this, thirty one percent
of people have paid to upgrade a device to one
with more storage because of digital clutter. So basically they're like,
I don't want to deal with all this. I could
spend days deleting stuff, but I'll just pay for an
advice for a device that has more storage space on it.

(03:10):
So like people who have storage space storage units, yes,
crap that they don't need, and when they get more crap,
I'll just buy another.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, so maybe we should devote a day like everybody
you know thinks about spring cleaning Yeah, devoted day to
get your digital stuff in order. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:28):
Oh gosh, yeah, I have to. There's so many photos
I need to delete, and text messages and voicemails and
stuff like that on your phone that are just oh
and I don't that I don't even care about. Yeah.
All right, so we got a digital detox and digital
spring clean. We're gonna procrastinate and maybe do it next

(03:50):
