“The first rule of Fight Club is, you do not talk about Fight Club.” The first response to a life-changing medical diagnosis is much the same. Not for us! After a chance meeting over hospital food, bad guitar riffs, and chemo drips, two guys, from very different backgrounds, with very different stories, realized 3 crucial things: 1. our voices matter 2. there’s plenty to talk about 3. we’re frickin' hilarious! We all know that cancer sucks. And those in “the know” can tell you that it doesn’t really matter whether it’s curable or chronic. It always sucks! So here we are… either living with it, or with its ghosts. But somewhere along the way, we discovered that if we can’t laugh at ourselves, what’s the point of it all? There’s a lot of material to be had here! Dying Laughing is rooted in finding the humor in our moments. There’s a time to be PC and respectful when discussing our diseases... and there’s a time to get real about all the extra “stuff” that comes with them. We’re here to bring it all together. BONUS! Our conversations are not reserved only for those who’ve been dealt the cancer hand. We embrace all the embarrassing, absurd, and hysterical chronicles of health-related events. Getting diagnosed with cancer has a profound effect on your mental health, and that part of treatment does not seem to have the same emphasis as the physical side of the equation. That makes sense, you have to stay alive to work on your mental health, but like most things the mental/physical health equation isn't an either/or but a both/and.

So, you just found out that you have cancer, but you don't now much more than that. What do you do with that beachball of information you are trying to hold underwater? How do you break the news to your family, friends, the rest of the world? Spoiler alert, you do it any way you want to, but do it deliberately because the narrative is just about the only thing you have any control over with this disease.

What is up! Yeah it has been a while but WE ARE BACK! Season 2 starts now, slightly shorter episodes more often is the name of the game moving forward. Today on Dying Laughing we interview participants of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Central PA Light the Night Walk in York, PA. Tim was the Honored Hero for the event and Oya started off lighting the lights for the survivors. This was the first time either of us had been to this event and it was truly spectacular. Thanks LLS for putting on an incredible event and raising well over $100,000 in the process!!!
