face to me and in.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
And you're listening to John Jay and Rich, Wake your
ass u, Kayla, send us the message. She needs advice.
Good morning, Kayla, Good morning.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
How are you guys good?
Speaker 1 (00:32):
How can we help you?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Well?
Speaker 5 (00:34):
I need some advice.
Speaker 6 (00:36):
My little backstory.
Speaker 5 (00:39):
My mom died about ten years ago, and my dad
is getting remarried next eight and I'm his best man.
So I need to write a speech for a woman
that I'm not really fond of.
Speaker 6 (00:54):
I don't even know what.
Speaker 7 (00:56):
How come you don't like her? What do you find
not great about her?
Speaker 6 (01:00):
Well, this is her fourth marriage and she has just
been doing like she says, like random little like And
I had remarked to me or my aunt or my
dad's mom, my grandmother.
Speaker 8 (01:18):
She is very you.
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Know, if it doesn't go her way, it doesn't go anyway,
and she kind of just like she wants my dad
to get rid of all of my mom's stuff that
he's had, like photos.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
Or just like anything.
Speaker 5 (01:38):
She was at my wedding. I got married last April,
and my dad was going to give me my mom's
wedding range, and I thought that was really sweet and
I loved it. But she was the one that like
kind of pushed him aside and made sure she was
the one to give them to me. So yeah, she's
(01:58):
very difficult woman.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Boy, that's tough. I've been there actually when my mom
passed away. My dad got remarried, I know, about four
years after my mom passed, and it's just not your mom.
You know, it's not like they got divorced. Your mom
passed away, so you've got all those fond memories. And
at one point I think I just thought, at least
he's not by himself, so you can be like he's
he's not a guy who can handle things by himself.
(02:24):
He's got somebody that kind of kind of hang out with.
It's not going to be your mom, and she's not
replacing your mom. But you got to find the you
got to find the thing in her that your dad likes,
and you're you're really there for him, not necessarily her.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yet, may I jump in, please do Cayla, what's her name?
Speaker 1 (02:42):
Your Holly?
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Okay, I went, because you call this asking for help
with the speech. I went in the chat GPT and
I said, the chat cheept your situation, and it wrote
a speech for you andreat it says good evening everyone.
First of all, I just want to say how honored
I am to be standing here as the best man
or should I say best woman? Either way, I'm thrilled
(03:05):
to be part of this beautiful, slightly unconventional day. Now
let's address the elephant in the room, or rather the
wedding in the room.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
This is in Dad's first rodeo, and it's not what's
her name Holly's, and it's not Hollies either.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
In fact, between the two of them, we should probably
start a wedding consulting business. Their combined experience with Id's
is truly unmatched.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
That's give credit where credit is due.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
Holly, you survived four husbands and still said sure, let's
try this again.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
That's optimism.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
And Dad, well, you're lucky to have found someone with
such resilience. And such an excellent dress collection. Now, on
a more serious note, my mom, who he missed so much,
would have wanted my dad to be happy, and I
know she wants someone to make him laugh and keep
him on his toes and maybe even teach him a
thing or two about lifetime commitment, or at least fifth
time commitment. Dad, Holly, you're perfect for each other. You
(03:58):
both learned a lot about love, marriage, maybe a little
bit about lawyers, and now you're choosing to spend the
rest of your life together or at least as long
as the paperwork holds up.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Oh god, So let's raise the glass to my dad.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
He's incredibled new wife and to love, because it's never
too late to find someone crazy enough to put up
with you.
Speaker 1 (04:16):
Cheers.
Speaker 9 (04:18):
Oh my goodness, it's very sarcastic.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
If you can pull I did, that will not go
over well.
Speaker 10 (04:34):
So here's my advice.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
That's only the first take. You can put it in
a couple of times and modify it.
Speaker 7 (04:39):
Now you can respond to be like maybe a little
less shade up been there.
Speaker 10 (04:43):
Oh my gosh, the teas pipe and hot over there.
Speaker 11 (04:46):
But here's my advice for you, Kayler. So one of
my best friends Treyana, she got married. I think it
was like three years ago maybe, and she married a
guy that she barely knew. Like they I think they
had been dating for like six months before they got
engaged and then they got married. I don't even think
it was like a whole two years. And so this
is like my best friend since I was like the
age of nine, right, and I had to write a
maid of honor speech. I didn't know what the heck
(05:07):
I was going to say about this guy.
Speaker 10 (05:08):
Hadn't known him.
Speaker 11 (05:09):
I'd met him one time and it was like briefly,
like maybe for five minutes. And I was like, how
the heck am I going to write a speech for
my best friend and this man that I don't know?
And then I realized my speech wasn't about the man
that I don't know. My speech was about my best friend.
So the majority of my maid of honor speech was
about my friend. And then I kind of just gave
a nod to him, and I was like, she's the
type of girl that you know, God blesses you, so
(05:31):
you know the meaning of loss. Eventually, like I did
something like that, and then I kind of just like
went back to her, So that would be like, my
sound advice would be like, make the speech about your dad, not.
Speaker 12 (05:41):
About Yeah, there you go ill.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Still, it's about your dad. So he wants you to
make it memorable.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
So you want to be you want to be as
nice as possible, as friendly as possible, both ways.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Kayla, she'd been married four times?
Speaker 5 (05:53):
Why, honestly, I don't even know. I mean, so my
dad is her dated and he school?
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Oh that happens ally years ago, right, and then we
moved to I'm from Tallahassee, Florida, So we moved here
when I was six, and then my dad moved back
for his family and they reconnected.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
She I guess, just uncompatibleness with men that she paid.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Okay, well, she didn't kill anybody, right, It's not like
she's one of those people that kills the husband and
hirs the money, kills the.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
Husband and hads the money. There'd be a Netflix series
on her. I mean, not put that out of your speech.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
We don't know what happened to the four guys. Oh,
there's Joe and they're here tonight.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
That's cool. You live in Tallahassee. You listen to our show?
Speaker 5 (06:43):
Oh, I live in Arizona.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Now, oh no, I guess that sounds okay. You live
in Arizona. You listen to our show.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
I listen to you guys every morning.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Awesome, Well, thank you, well, good luck, good luck.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
Or you know, if you want, I can go to
the wedding and I'll do the speech for you.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
You know what, that would be amazing.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
We do like the Serrano dibversion act. I'll hide behind
the bushes and tell you what to say.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
You're gonna do. Awesome.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I'd be happy for your dad that he found somebody
that he can hang with for a little bit.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
All right, Kila, have a great day. Thank you so
much for listening. Thank you, Alma, good morning, thanks for holding.
Speaker 13 (07:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 14 (07:18):
So I was I was so excited for my company's
dinner party and my boss invited all of us. You know,
we were like a small group of four employees.
Speaker 15 (07:29):
And she told us we could bring our boyfriend and
our husband, and we just we picked such like a
nice like boogie steakhouse downtown, you know, the kind of
place where the menu doesn't even have any prices. Well,
my boyfriend, we all got dressed up. We were so
excited and really, you know, the place was great. The
(07:50):
vibes were immaculate and the food was insane too. But
then the bill came and the plot twis is literally
the my boss only covered the employees, so all the
people that came this plus ones like yeah, they were
on their own, and so our total came out to
(08:12):
be two hundred and thirty dollars for one person.
Speaker 1 (08:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (08:18):
Wow, you were not expecting that because your boss said
invite your significant others.
Speaker 16 (08:24):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 15 (08:24):
I was not thrilled. And I just sat there and
I was like, is this.
Speaker 14 (08:30):
Really my life? Like we're gonna be paying two hundred
and thirty dollars And so the night wait went like terrible,
like really fat.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Yeah, because that's that's kind of a pain because he's
gonna I'll take care of them, not him, Separate Bill.
I'll take care of them, not him, Separate Bill.
Speaker 17 (08:44):
It's weird.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
Had to be a long kind of uncomfortable, and to.
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Get no heads up about it too, like just surprise and.
Speaker 11 (08:52):
A two hundred and thirty dollars dinner, like that's something
you have to budget for. Yeah, that's not something that's
not a normal night out for dinner.
Speaker 10 (08:58):
You know, It's not like you guys went to and
your meal's forty but.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Not normal for one bird, Kyle, you says, I said,
so if there was a heads up, if it was like, hey,
there was a heads up, then you.
Speaker 7 (09:08):
Could at least choose like, hey, I'm not going to
bring my significant other because we don't want to drop
cash on this obviously, but if there.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Was a heads up, would you guess we'd too?
Speaker 17 (09:15):
Hey, Also, weird things weird.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
Your husband, but I'm not paying for him.
Speaker 7 (09:19):
The whole thing is definitely kind of right, Like why just.
Speaker 17 (09:22):
Just say don't bring sign another make it's just.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
The crew of the staff.
Speaker 17 (09:26):
Yeah, but then that's also kind of weird when you're like,
don't bring a significant others, because.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Then that's kind of like, you know, you got to
find the right way to say, because companies do that,
aholl time for Hey, for budget reasons. We can't afford
to pay for everybody in our family. So this is
gonna be a company. Just like today we're having our
little barbecue here. But we wouldn't mind if spouse's came
in apartment.
Speaker 1 (09:43):
But you know what, he would invite it, we would
have charged him. I'm gonna need seven dollars for that
brisk Oh.
Speaker 7 (09:50):
My gosh, so bad.
Speaker 12 (09:52):
That's such an awkward position in in that's tough.
Speaker 18 (09:55):
I know.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Yeah, you should have had your husband or your boyfriend
just eat a salad and bread.
Speaker 19 (10:03):
She would have known you probably.
Speaker 17 (10:05):
Wouldn't have gotten for.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Maybe they're paying attention, like I want to see who'snna
try to take advantage?
Speaker 20 (10:14):
All right?
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Well, next your note, don't invite Almo to the Christmas party?
All right, am? I have a great day, Merry Christmas.
Thanks for listening, Peyton. What's the vie for horse gropes today?
Speaker 11 (10:25):

an element of suspense all the time when you're handing
out gifts.

Speaker 10 (11:13):
Taurus, you guys go.
Speaker 11 (11:14):
Quality over quantity, and you pick gifts that are fancy
and indulgent. So if you have a Torus in your life,
expect something cozy, expensive, or food related from them.
Speaker 6 (11:23):
So true, Thank you, Peyton, Hello, good morning.
Speaker 11 (11:27):
Hello, Hi Hello, that just reminded me of the Gridge.
Speaker 12 (11:33):
You've actually been watching that.
Speaker 16 (11:38):
I'm a cancer and I'm calling from Idaho.
Speaker 11 (11:41):
Okay, Well for cancer, Stacy, the type of gift giver
that you are is the sentimental gifter.

really good way.

Speaker 16 (12:20):
Yes it is.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
I don't think I've ever done anything homemade, though.
Speaker 16 (12:24):
Have you?
Speaker 19 (12:26):
Well?
Speaker 22 (12:26):
Actually make bread, some cookies and fudge and stuff for
my neighbors.
Speaker 10 (12:29):
Oh yeah, that's perfect.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
Some would do for whoever I get Secret Santa, I'm
gonna make them some bread.
Speaker 12 (12:35):
I'm sure we'd love.
Speaker 16 (12:38):
Thanks, guys.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
How about for Libra?
Speaker 11 (12:40):
Yeah, Libra, Kyle is our Libra. The gift giver that
you are is the aesthetic gifter Libra's. You guys shop
with an I fair beauty, so you pick out gifts
that are visually pleasing as they are thoughtful. So think
about candles home to core or in like an artsy
coffee table.
Speaker 12 (12:53):
Book, Yeah, Sue.
Speaker 7 (12:55):
Or if the gift isn't necessarily aesthetic, make the wrapping
that way, Yes.
Speaker 12 (12:59):
Exactly, Carly.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
What's your signing? Good morning?
Speaker 8 (13:04):
Hey, good morning.
Speaker 16 (13:04):
I'm a Sagittarian.
Speaker 10 (13:06):
Okay, So for a sagittaries.
Speaker 11 (13:07):
You guys are the last minute shopper Sagittaries. You thrive
on that adrenaline of like a Christmas Eve shopping. You
guys might show up with random items from a gas station,
but somehow it always works and the person that you're
gifting is always appreciative.
Speaker 8 (13:20):
Awesome, thank you.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
How about Virgo?
Speaker 10 (13:23):
Yeah, John, Jay are Virgo.
Speaker 11 (13:25):
The type of gift giver that you are is the
spreadsheet shopper. So Virgo, you planned your shopping list all
the way back in September. You organize your budget conscious,
and you love practical gifts that people will actually use.
Speaker 1 (13:36):
Huh. So me, Marcia, what's your signing? Good morning?
Speaker 22 (13:41):
Good morning? I'm a Gemini.
Speaker 11 (13:42):
Okay, So Gemini is the type of shopper that you are.
You are the one for me and one for you
shopper Gemini.
Speaker 10 (13:48):
You guys get easily.
Speaker 11 (13:49):
Distracted by shiny objects, so while you're shopping for others,
you accidentally end up buying half the store for yourself,
and then you forget who you're shopping for.
Speaker 22 (13:58):
Yeah, that sounds totally right. That's why I can't go
shopping anymore.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
All right, Marshall, have a great day. Thanks for listening.
Speaker 22 (14:05):
Wait, can I tell you guys something real quick? Sure,
I always am. I'm a night person and I'm awake,
you know, at night on scrolling Facebook and all that,
and that's when I see you guys say what's your
what's your dodiac sign? Call me in the morning, and
I'm all wide awake and jazzed up. And then this
has happened so many times. I'm like, you know, I
(14:27):
post my sign and I'm like, call me. And then
I wake up the next morning and it's like eight
o'clock or whatever, and you guys have texted me like.
Speaker 8 (14:35):
Hey, can we call you?
Speaker 22 (14:37):
And I like, I tried to send you a text
message one day to call myself out and be like,
I'm not going to do that anymore because every single
time I just can't wake up in the morning. But
somehow today I woke up a.
Speaker 18 (14:49):
Right, all right, a great day.
Speaker 22 (14:54):
Yeah guys to talk to you and have a beautiful day.
Speaker 1 (14:58):

what's up? How are you good? How are you I'm good,
I'm good.
Speaker 16 (15:10):
I'm just calling. I'm shocked that Kyle doesn't love Spirited.
I'm totally obsessed with Spirited. I thought for sure that
John Jay and Kyle were gonna love this movie. And
Kyle was like, that's all.
Speaker 22 (15:23):
Right, I mean it's good.
Speaker 17 (15:25):
I don't.
Speaker 7 (15:25):
I do think that I probably should watch it one
more time, all the way through in one sitting. But
there are I mean, I feel like Sidy even you
have to admit the first hour and a half, you
get like you're like, okay, where's this got like it
gets a little long.
Speaker 17 (15:40):
That's the part for me that was hard.
Speaker 16 (15:43):
I didn't find it long, and I was first like
from the first ten minutes, but I don't, I don't know.
But I also watch it with clothes captions, so then
you can see what they're singing about.
Speaker 17 (15:55):
Yeah, I always watched.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
That with you. I got that's what. Yeah, I watch
it like that too. I would say the.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
One part, you know, the part in this Inspirited when
Ryan Reynolds comes out of that guy in the very beginning.
Speaker 1 (16:08):
I didn't understand that. It took me a second to
understand what's going on.
Speaker 13 (16:11):
Remember that.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
I was like, yeah, and then you and then Ryan
Renolds says that dance routine In the beginning, I was like,
what's happening here? I didn't understand what was happening. But
as the storyline goes, I'm like, oh, okay, and then
the then you kind of just let go and you
let them be Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell and I
just enjoyed it so much. Ian said to my wife
last night we were going to bed, I was like,
I was like, we need to watch.
Speaker 1 (16:32):
Spirited as a family when everybody comes home for Christmas.
I want to watch it.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
Everybody forced everybody as a family to watch this holiday movie.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Yeah, I want to. I want to watch.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Because I think it's just I think it's going to
get better and better. Like again, it just came out.
Elf came out twenty years ago. You give it time.
I think it's going to be people will enjoy this.
Speaker 23 (16:48):
I'm like, I wouldn't show that. I wouldn't show that
to my little kids.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
And I would show to my little kids either, but I
wouldn't my.
Speaker 17 (16:53):
Kids they watch Elf. So it's like it's just different.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
It's a different movie, but it's.
Speaker 16 (16:57):
You when you got a different movie. But I say,
by like it's standing up to Elf, means like it'll
be here for a long time.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
Yeah, I think it's gonna be around.
Speaker 7 (17:06):
It'll be.
Speaker 16 (17:07):
We'll watch it every year.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
I will. I think it's great.
Speaker 23 (17:11):
I'll watch it again and then see if maybe I
feel differently. I'm I'm open to feeling. I'm not like
against the movie.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
What's your favorite song for the movie, Cindy, are there
any to stand out?
Speaker 16 (17:22):
I've seen Good Afternoon all day long, and we're bringing
back Christmas. As soon as I walk in the house,
I tell Alexit a turn on the soundtrack. My teenagers
are like, here she goes.
Speaker 24 (17:33):
Good Afternoons Afternoon.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
All right, Cindy, have a great day, Thanks for listening.
Speaker 16 (17:54):
Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, everybody.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
She was a text what there was on your mind?
Text us text j g R. Whatever's on your mind?
Speaker 3 (18:00):
In ninety six, eight ninety three, time for stacks and hacks.
I have stax in information, which has life hacks? A
poll found the average person spends forty minutes a day
wishing they were somewhere else or planning their next vacation.
The top ten places we wish we were at right now? Anyone, anyone?
Speaker 1 (18:17):
The beach, The beach Number one. Good job Kyle A.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
Study found using abbreviations like LOL and OMG and text
messages can make.
Speaker 12 (18:27):
You smarter, funnier, more likable.
Speaker 1 (18:31):
Insecure, seem insecure.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
If you want someone to know you found something funnier shocking,
you're better off using full words instead.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
I disagree, disagree, A OMG covers a lot. You're like
in a hurry you kind of want to like just
kind of.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
You know, it's like sometimes LOL is like when someone's
telling the story to go that's funny.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Yeah, you're not laughing, you're saying that's funny.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
The top things people would change about their marriage proposal
include the location, the delivery, the weather, and what they said,
but fifty percent of couples wouldn't change anything. A McDonald's
employee won't take an order because he's in the bathroom.
This has gone viral, this video. So he was still
(19:13):
having his headset on and somebody went to the drive through.
Speaker 17 (19:15):
You're admitting to a customer you're in the bathroom.
Speaker 1 (19:19):
I'm in the bath from so I can't order a
small ride. You have to wait to minutes. I have
to please, so can I.
Speaker 19 (19:25):
Just wait for.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
No, you aren't telling a customer through the headphone set and.
Speaker 11 (19:32):
Taking orders at the moment me and because you're on
the toilet, I have to pee.
Speaker 19 (19:37):
How can I take an order if I'm in a
bare fall?
Speaker 12 (19:39):
This is a bit much truth.
Speaker 5 (19:41):
I'm not entired to move to the bathroom because you
want a small fall.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
All right.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
The Australian government released an app called Chart Your Fart.
They're asking people to track their flatulence for three days
to help scientists with the study. It tracks fart frequency, duration,
lou miss and stench.
Speaker 7 (20:02):
I'm in the sound and how loud it was or
if there was much of an odor to it.
Speaker 5 (20:08):
It's not something that everyone's comfortable discussing, but it is
a normal function of the body and it's healthy.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
It's a sign that you're healthy. That is the research
director of the company that's doing that. That's good work
out there.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
A twenty eight year old man for South Korea got
arrested at an airport in Peru after trying to go
through security with three hundred and twenty translors strapped to
his body. He also had one hundred and ten centipiece
plus nine bullet ants, known for having the most painful
sting of any insect.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
The translas, they say were bigger than your fist. Yeah,
my god, what to sell?
Speaker 3 (20:41):
Oh, here's some habits you can pick up to become happier.
Practice random acts of kindness like love up, nurture your relationships,
and express gratitude.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
This is kind of funny.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
A plane in Portugal is grounded for five days after
one hundred and thirty hamsters escape from their cages. If
humans go extinct, wish animal would take over the world.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Oh, good question.
Speaker 10 (21:10):
The apes, monkey, beckroach.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
Nope, dogs, nope, cats, a nope, sharks, octopus to evolve
and form their own civilization.
Speaker 10 (21:24):
And they're so smart.
Speaker 19 (21:26):
There's a new.
Speaker 3 (21:26):
Popeye movie coming out. It's a horror movie with the
evil Popeye as he's menacing a bunch of councilors trying
to open a summer camp, coming out January.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Okay, sure, Why did.
Speaker 17 (21:37):
They keep making like these pure.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
Things into horror?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Like they get they get the rights to them. Now
it's like there's no copyright anymore, so just go for it.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
What do you got ritual lifecs?
Speaker 2 (21:46):
All right, let's talk about coffee, John Jay. You're new
to the coffee world. I'm new to the coffee world,
and you drink it for health reasons. Not because it
tastes good, right, Yeah, just I think coffee teas terrible.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
Well, so here's a little hack that you can do.
I found this on the website Study Fines. So if
you ever want to learn about healthy stuff, that's a
great website to go to. So they say coffee, you know,
they've proven that it's good for you, good for your heart.
But now instead of sugar, they say, add natural maple
syrup because that will make it sweeter.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Plus everything maple is amazing. But it also lowers.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Your blood pressure, it can help mobilize abdominal fat, improve
your gut health, and controls your blood sugar. So put
a little bit of the maple syrup in your daily
cup of coffee and live forever that life back Admitty
Moore can be found at Johnjandridge dot com.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
Good morning, Marie, Good morning, Good morning. We're gonna play
a game right now. We're gonna play what is it?
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Rich?
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Complicated Christmas Carol? No, it's the ho ho Holiday challenges,
Complicated Christmas's care?
Speaker 2 (22:41):
Okay, very easy summary. Do you love yourself some holidays?
Speaker 21 (22:45):
I do, Yes, I do.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
I think you will find these all highly gettable. Butt
you must win because you're up against fierce Christmas competitors
that know everything there is to know about Christmas.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
John j.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
We will start with you. What is the German name
of the song Oh Christmas Tree, Oh tann and bomb?
Speaker 10 (23:05):
Is you know.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
From watching Swiss Family? Robinson?
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Did you ever see that movie, Disney movie about this
family that lives on an island somewhere and then the
brothers cut down a tree and they walking the tree
to go hanging up in their cabin and they're singing
this all right?
Speaker 2 (23:23):
Okay, Kyle, you're familiar with a Christmas Carol and all
the many versions of a Christmas Carol.
Speaker 12 (23:30):
Sure, I think with Ebezer Scrooge.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
How many ghosts actually appear to Ebenezer Scrooge in a
Christmas Carol?
Speaker 7 (23:39):
Three ghosts of Christmas past, Christmas.
Speaker 12 (23:42):
Present, Christmas Future?
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Well all that is true, but there was one more.
There's a fourth coast. Well no, he remember Jacob Marley,
his business partner.
Speaker 10 (23:56):
Details this was a ghost.
Speaker 12 (23:58):
No, it's nice Scrooge, isn't the Yeah I got it wrong?
Speaker 1 (24:01):
Visit got wrong twice? Okay, Peyton.
Speaker 2 (24:04):
In the song Deck the Halls, what dessert is requested
to be bought by the children deck dolls.
Speaker 10 (24:11):
With bells of holly.
Speaker 11 (24:12):
Follow la la la.
Speaker 10 (24:16):
This is the biggy.
Speaker 2 (24:17):
Puddy working out by I could see your your your
brain like gears grinding there. Okay, over to you, Marie.
What does Ralphie get denied? Is a gift by Santa
in a Christmas story when he first asked a beata
a bb gun, a red rid bgun.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
That is correct.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
We move on to the musical portion. This is all
movie related. So these are all songs from Christmas movies.
So I will play you a little bit of the
song and you tell me in what giant popular Christmas
movie does it appear? Challenging you go first.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
Is a thing to say on Christmas Day.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
It is not a home alone anybody else want to
take a shot at that one? You've seen it probably
a million times, Moyenna, No looking for national lampoons, Christmas vacation.
Speaker 1 (25:11):
No Christmas point for you, Kyle? From what movie? Does
this come? What's this? What's this?
Speaker 19 (25:17):
Does?
Speaker 1 (25:17):
Cover everywhere? Christmas? What's nightmare? Must be dreaming?
Speaker 19 (25:23):
Wake up?
Speaker 18 (25:24):
Jack?
Speaker 1 (25:24):
This isn't there? That is correct? N I'm here before Christmas?
Speaker 2 (25:29):
Peyton, your chance to jump on the board here with
your second point and take the lead.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Name the movie.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
It is none elf, and yes you may steal Kyle alone.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
That move that's soundtrack. That song just played like gisbe
feels Wow.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
That's the guy who wrote Jurassic Park. John Williams, Okay,
that checks out this one. It's a toughie. But when
I looked for the best original Christmas songs from movies,
this was in the top three.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Name the movie from which this comes, and everyone, this family,
we're having so much fun. After all, there's.
Speaker 19 (26:16):
A sleep do Christmas?
Speaker 2 (26:19):
After all, there's only one more sleep dope, crauise move
all right, Marie, what you got?
Speaker 16 (26:25):
Oh my goodness, Nick.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
Can help you for this?
Speaker 2 (26:27):
Assist because I could see him excited back there.
Speaker 16 (26:30):
Yes, I need the assistant.
Speaker 1 (26:31):
Please phone a friend. It's muppet Christmas Carol. His hint is.
Speaker 17 (26:41):
That is correct?
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Good shop.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
All right, let's finish it up here, John Jay and
the movie else, what is the first rule in the
code of Elves?
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Don't talk about fight club.
Speaker 17 (26:53):
Spread Christmas cheer for all to hear.
Speaker 1 (26:55):
No treat every day like it's Christmas. That's right, Kyle, what.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
Charity does the Red Kettle at Christmas Time Benefit Salvation Army.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
That is correct.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Peyton, which one of Santa's reindeer has the same name,
same name, is a Valentine's Day mascot.
Speaker 10 (27:14):
The Valentine's Dame mascot. And there was no no, no,
no no no, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Kind of a trick question.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Glitzen No, Blitzen is not the Valentine's Day mascot looking
for Valentine.
Speaker 1 (27:28):
Anybody want to steal Cupid Cupid.
Speaker 12 (27:29):
Jo It's tricky because I thought this was Christmas.
Speaker 1 (27:35):
It's a day, same name, stupid.
Speaker 12 (27:38):
Yea Italian?
Speaker 2 (27:41):
It was a clever Tian was really good? Whoever wrote
that's really smart? In Doctor Zeus's classic How the Grinch
Stole Christmas? Marie, what is the name of the grinches?
Faithful dog?
Speaker 3 (28:00):
See if you ever want to play a game with
a shoot us a DM at John Jay and Rich
on social media, it's.
Speaker 25 (28:06):
The John Jay and Rich Christmas wish.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
It's John Jay and Rich Christmas wish. This is a
This is a tough Christmas wish. A lot of people
working very hard for this Christmas wish. Let's say hi
to Caitlyn the nominator.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Hi Kaitlyn, Hi h, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Do we just well give us a brief, a brief
rundown of the situation on this Christmas wish that we're
going to try to pull off because there's a lot
of people in place here. But tell us a little
bit about Kurt in his situation and his daughter Riley.
Speaker 8 (28:37):
So Kurt, Riley and Kurt's wife, Ashley and I we've
been friends for four or five years. We met through
some volunteering on a board together and Ashley if Kurt
lost his wife, Ashley, Riley lost her mom. They were
(28:58):
high school sweethearts, just going for a girl's night out
and ended up not coming home. And it's not something
that you think about in our small community. What happened
to somebody you know, But it ended up being a
nationwide news story. But it hit a lot of small
(29:20):
communities and we just happened to be one of the
unlucky communities that had to go through that.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
You got you yourself still must be reeling, I guess
from all this because this wasn't that long ago.
Speaker 8 (29:32):
No, this is not two weeks ago.
Speaker 16 (29:36):
It has been rough.
Speaker 8 (29:37):
So they've had I mean there and it's going to
be a long drawn out process.
Speaker 16 (29:43):
They still this is.
Speaker 8 (29:44):
Something they're going to deal with, not just emotionally with
Riley not having her mother and everything, but they're going
to have to go to court hearings, They're going to
have just a bunch of stuff that they're going to
be going on for, I mean, at least a year,
just trying to put this guy behind bar Can you
tell us.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
A little bit about Riley some of the things that
she said. And I know you were gonna read the
letter here in a minute, but I've heard some of
the things she said individually about like what she wants
her father to have for Christmas or that kind of stuff.
Speaker 8 (30:15):
So her dad and her they very very tight knit family.
Speaker 26 (30:21):
It's not like.
Speaker 8 (30:24):
Ashley and Kurt would drop Riley off with a babysitter
and go and have a weekend of fun. They were
very family oriented. If they had some free time, they'd
find something to do outdoors, hiking, hunting. They were always
at riley swimming meets. But Riley wanted something nice for
(30:44):
her dad.
Speaker 16 (30:46):
She thought they've always talked about going to.
Speaker 8 (30:48):
Alaska and just getting away, and I thought this would
be the perfect time just to get away. I mean
you've had people in your home, you've had people calling you,
you know, dealing with this and all and everything. Something
just to get away, and that was Riley had mentioned Alaska,
and it's somewhere that they as a family had always
wanted to go, so that was a big thing for them.
Speaker 3 (31:10):
Okay, let's get Kurt on the line and see if
you could read the letter.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Do you have the letter in front of you? Yes? Okay?
Speaker 3 (31:28):
Hello?
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Hi, is Kurt there? Please?
Speaker 18 (31:31):
This is the same.
Speaker 1 (31:32):
Hey, Kurt, It's John Jay and Riach. We do a
radio show. We're wondering if you'll go on the radio
with us for just a moment please.
Speaker 21 (31:37):
Ah, sure, nice, Kurt.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
So we do a radio show on my ninety nine
nine and Caitlin wrote us a letter about you and
your family and your amazing daughter, and so we actually
asked her if she could read the letter to you
on our radio show.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
So you do you have him in it? Yeah? Yeah?
Are you at work? Are you at home? I know?
Is your mom's birthday?
Speaker 15 (31:58):
I got home for long, so we're good.
Speaker 5 (32:01):
It's actually a snow day.
Speaker 1 (32:02):
So right, is Riley with you or she at school? No,
she's right here, she's right there.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
Too.
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah, wow, okay, okay, do you want me to put
it on speakerphone or yeah, put on speaker but we
we know your show, so y then Hey Riley, Hi, Hi? Okay.
So you guys listened to Caitlin really quick? Okay, so
(32:31):
can we at Caitlyn? Kaylyn, you want to go ahead
and say hi?
Speaker 19 (32:34):
Hi?
Speaker 18 (32:36):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Alright, so Kaylin, whenever you're ready, please read the letter.
Speaker 8 (32:43):
Hey, I'm gonna try to make it through it.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
Take your time.
Speaker 8 (32:46):
Dear John, Jay and Rich I had two very close
friends that had traveled from Honted to card Or Springsburg
girl Kind as their night was wrapping up. They had
it for the door. The cunic clubs harder than I, though.
They became victims of a terrible nightclub shooting. Here a
(33:08):
night of unspeakable violence. Ashley was shot multiple crimes. Or
other friend was able to push her way out and
waited for help to arrive. She looked around yelling for Ashley,
but wasn't able to locate her. Kurt woke up on
Sunday to hear the terrible news. Only the only ample
he had was that Ashley had been shot, but no
one could locate her. Kurt gathered his daughter in maybe
(33:28):
hour and I have trip to car to Springs, not
knowing what was waiting for him. They went to every
hospital searching for Ashley. No hospital had any record of her.
All the while, he's staying calm and his daughter's telling
him Mom is strong. I know that God is protecting her.
The last off was a police station where they were
informed that Ashley hadn't made it. She never made it
out of the club and she died some more wounds.
(33:50):
This family is truly one in a million. Riley is
a swimmer and they spent every weekend at competitions and
if they had if they happened to get a day off,
they spent it. Finds being something to do as a family.
Everything in her life had to do with helping others.
It absolutely breaks my heart and has left me questioning
my faith that someone that God has created himself is
(34:12):
capable of committing such a terrible act. Talking to Riley
was absolutely amazing and uplipping. She has understandably heartbroken, but
what she has told me has restored faith for me.
She says, we can't hate this man that killed my mom.
He had hate in his heart and that's what makes
good people. The evil things we have to forgive to
make sure we don't have hate in our hearts. My
(34:33):
mom's in heaven and she wouldn't want my heart to
be black with hate. I don't know where to start,
but I'd love to make sure that Riley has a
Christmas full of love and joy. Riley is truly an
incredible daughter. She loves the outdoors, swimming in music. When
asked what she wanted for Christmas, she's paid the only
thing she wanted to do with sake her dad to Alaska.
So just so this day can get away, please grant
(34:55):
this Christmas wish.
Speaker 26 (34:56):
Thank you so much, Caitlyn, who was sorry.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
So Kurt and Riley, we'd like to grant a Christmas
wish for you guys. Yeah, so hear me out, Riley,
can you hear me?
Speaker 1 (35:27):
Yeah? Okay, So let me tell you. Let me tell
you what we have for you.
Speaker 3 (35:34):

Pro Shops, one hundred dollars gift card to DSW. We

in the works.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
Okay, that's for later.
Speaker 3 (37:08):
And Emma, our friends at my ninety ninety nine, our
radio station, our company, iHeartMedia. They want to get on
the phone. So we heard you love Taylor Swift. Do

concert which she comes through Denver.
Speaker 26 (37:26):

see it go to Alaska?
Speaker 2 (37:53):

Speaker 1 (41:27):
What's going on?
Speaker 13 (41:29):
So my sister got married last weekend, and for some reason,
I think it's kind of insane she invited me without
a plus one apparently he I'm that sister, the one
who is professionally single and never gets a plast one
invite anyway, So she's been on me like non stop
about getting on dating apps, and I'm I'm like talking obsessed.
Speaker 17 (41:50):
She's telling me, oh, it's super easy.
Speaker 13 (41:53):
And that you know, I can't miss out on love
just because I'm too stubborn to try it, which is
kind of annoy honestly, Like, yeah, thank you for the
love advice. I really don't want to scroll through a
bunch of profiles pretending to care about some guy's favorite
pizza topping or whatever. So anyway, draft forward to the wedding.
Speaker 15 (42:13):
I'm walking in fully planned to step her throat, fill up,
I have my.
Speaker 8 (42:16):
Glass of wine.
Speaker 1 (42:18):
Turn it out, my.
Speaker 13 (42:20):
Sister actually set me up, but not with just some
random guy in a napp.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
Oh no no.
Speaker 13 (42:26):
Instead, she recruited my ex. And this is the X
I haven't spoken to in.
Speaker 16 (42:32):
Two years because.
Speaker 13 (42:34):
Well it's too much. I'll just say we had like
a very dramatic breakup. So I was halfway drunk and
I just.
Speaker 15 (42:41):
Told up, Okay, you know what, let's just have a
good night.
Speaker 13 (42:44):
This is about my sister, okay, And so my ex
and I are having the most awkward but also hilarious time.
We were like just pretending like we didn't just avoid
icontact for years.
Speaker 16 (42:58):
But here's the crazy part.
Speaker 13 (43:01):
We ended up laughing so much that by the end
of the night we're actually having an actual honest conversation.
And it turns out maybe the timing was off back then,
But it's kind of wild how things can come full
circle when you used to expect them to. Honestly. Anyway,
(43:21):
we got back together and we're talking about eloping and
getting married next year.
Speaker 17 (43:26):
WHOA, So your sister was right, she saved the day.
She's got to be here.
Speaker 16 (43:31):
They have honor, right, Yeah, she called it.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
It's almost like a Netflix slashed Hallmark.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
In fact, that was the movie right where the ex
is back in my life. It happened our little secret
with Lindsay Lohan, Like the X shows up because he's
dating like somebody else in the family, like another step
or something. And then they, you know, they go off
to go pick Christmas tree together and rekindle the romance.
No way, and they hate each other because he flamed
(44:05):
out on her back in the day when they were dating. Wow,
and she moved away and now it's back on. This
is just your story. You are, Lindsay Lohan.
Speaker 17 (44:12):
You should sell your story to Hallmark.
Speaker 1 (44:14):
How does it end with Lindsay Lohan.
Speaker 2 (44:16):
Well, I mean it is a Christmas rom com, so
I mean there's a happily ever after.
Speaker 1 (44:19):
Oh so that's good for Lindsay. Yeah, Lindsay Lohan.
Speaker 17 (44:24):
And are Lindsay that we're talking to you right now?
Speaker 1 (44:26):
I'm talking about we have Lindsay on the phone in
your life? Is the Netflix Christmas? What's your boyfriend's name? Lindsay?
What's the guy's name on the show? Anyone knows? I forgot?
Speaker 2 (44:37):
Oh, come on, Para, you know everything. What's it called
thirty Little Secret? No, it's called Our Little Secret. It's
on Netflix. I think it's number one or number two.
It's pretty big, Our Little Secret. I forgot what his
name is. Wouldn't that be trippy? If his name was hallminus,
that'd be insane.
Speaker 3 (44:52):
Two residentful exes must awkwardly spend Christmas together after learning
their new partners or siblings.
Speaker 1 (44:58):
It's I mean, it's kind of similar that you the.
Speaker 2 (45:00):
Exes have to be together, Yeah, and then they get
forced together and then they rekindle the romance.
Speaker 11 (45:05):
That's wild though, So Lindsey, what did what did Thomas say?
Speaker 10 (45:08):
When he gets to the wedding.
Speaker 11 (45:09):
He's like surprise or like, was he totally game because
he wanted to get back together.
Speaker 17 (45:14):
He was part of it.
Speaker 13 (45:16):
My sister had reached out and I actually know exactly
what she said, something along the lines of, you guys
were great together. Do you want to come to my
wedding and just like hang out with my sister?
Speaker 16 (45:28):
Yeah, he was part of it.
Speaker 8 (45:30):
He was in on it.
Speaker 13 (45:30):
I was the only one that was dooped.
Speaker 1 (45:32):
But it's not going to work out, right Logan?
Speaker 10 (45:36):
Yeah, yeah, kind of the same name.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Do you know what make this better is if this
was like a Christmas wedding, like in a foreign country,
then you've got the whole movie.
Speaker 1 (45:47):
You've got all the Hallmark traffics. That's pretty cool. No,
good for you, Lindsey. Thank you for calling it. Congratulations
a fun story. Love hearing fun stories.
Speaker 15 (45:54):
Right, Yeah, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
I have a great day too. I want you, guys
who do me THINKU quid?
Speaker 3 (46:00):
Okay, I want you to write down the word snow globing.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
Snow globing.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
Write it down and look at it, snow globing, and
then tell me when you're done. Okay. So I read
this article last night I was prepping for the show.
This is beware of snow globing when dating during the holidays.
When I read it, I don't know if I have dyslexia,
but I said, I read snow gobbling.
Speaker 1 (46:26):
I can see that. I was like, if you were
snow gobbling, you.
Speaker 17 (46:30):
Also had stuff in your eyes from your eyeball.
Speaker 3 (46:32):
Mistade, because I was like, youware snow gobbling, And I
was starting to think of all the time that I
was a kid when I ate snow, and I was like,
you know, I was like, oh my god, but I
just ate it.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
I didn't gobble it like like a sidego.
Speaker 23 (46:45):
And then I was like, you eat snow, you kind
of do have to gobble it.
Speaker 1 (46:49):
Shoving your mouth.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
And then I thought it was something sexual. And then
I go on to read about it. Do you guys
know what snow globing is? Okay? Snow globing is a
relation to expert for e Harmony says snowglombing is a
dating trend during the holiday season when a person engages
in loving acts and appears to want to become more.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Serious with their partner.
Speaker 3 (47:11):
Then they disengage, retreat, or change their behavior after.
Speaker 1 (47:15):
The holidays end. Dude, huh, why would people do this?
Speaker 23 (47:20):
Is what you said, want some because the holidays can
be lonely.
Speaker 10 (47:22):
Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 11 (47:24):
I feel like I definitely have a couple of guy
friends that definitely tried to get girlfriends for that time period,
but it's just because they don't want to show up
at Thanksgiving dinner and everyone ask all the questions about
where's your girlfriend at, where's your boyfriend at?
Speaker 10 (47:36):
So it's kind of like your escape route.
Speaker 11 (47:38):
Like I went with my friend Awaeita to a ton
of his Christmas and Halloween and all his family stuff,
just so he didn't have to get badgered about it,
and he was one of my best friends, Like it
wasn't anything serious.
Speaker 2 (47:47):
He let me make an excuse for the guys though.
A lot of times you take you're doing that holiday
thing to test the where the relationship is, so you
get closer in the holidays and you do all the things,
and then maybe once those are over, maybe you don't
feel the same way that you thought you're gonna feel.
So you're you're putting a little You're you're like, Okay,
I'm gonna jump into this relationship and I'm gonna do
all the things.
Speaker 1 (48:07):
But when you do all the things, you might not
want to do all the things.
Speaker 7 (48:09):
That stinks though, because then when you like break up,
I be're like, I just bought you all.
Speaker 17 (48:12):
These gifts for the holiday. Now we're not together.
Speaker 1 (48:16):
Well, well I'm gon back some Peyton said, Peton.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
What was your friend's name? Oh oasa, that is a
very cool name. Awesome, Well here so again. Snow Globing
is a dating trend where person engages in loving acts
during the holidays become more serious during the holidays. Here
are some signs you can look out for that someone's
(48:41):
going to snow globe you.
Speaker 10 (48:43):
It sounds so dirty.
Speaker 1 (48:45):
It does because I said snow gobble. Okay. Here are
snow globing signs.
Speaker 3 (48:50):
An increase in desire for connections, specifically during the holiday.
Being pushy about meeting someone's family during the holidays, especially
if the person mentioned in the past that they're not
ready to meet each other's families, and now they're like,
come on, when meet your family?
Speaker 1 (49:04):
That's snow gobbling.
Speaker 3 (49:07):
Pushing this to attend events like Christmas parties, but not
inviting you to more intimate gatherings like hanging out with friends.
A decrease in attention after the holidays are over. Ghosting
slow response time, not initiation dates. That is snow globing,
snow gobbling.
Speaker 12 (49:24):
Kyle is eating a lot of snow.
Speaker 1 (49:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (49:29):
So I just had to share that with you because
I wasn't gonna bring it up on there until I
wrote I thought it was snow gobbling, which, by the way,
it sounds like a hoot.
Speaker 1 (49:36):
All right.
Speaker 3 (49:36):
Did you see this list of of the mispronounced names?
Speaker 11 (49:41):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (49:41):
No, oh my god, hold on, I haven't.
Speaker 7 (49:43):
It's like the biggest things that people have mispronounced this year.
Speaker 11 (49:47):
Okay, probably everything that comes out of my mouth.
Speaker 10 (49:49):
Tell me more.
Speaker 1 (49:51):
How do you say Sabrina Carpenter's boyfriend that she just
broke up.
Speaker 10 (49:54):
With, Barry Keegan.
Speaker 1 (49:57):
Let's see, do you guys know how to say his name?
I would assume that's right, that's what I.
Speaker 3 (50:00):
Okay, check this out. Well, this is These are the
lis Like it's you know, Kamala Harris. People can't say
her name.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
Kamala Harris, Barry Kogan.
Speaker 10 (50:11):
Okay really.
Speaker 3 (50:13):
Then there's some like Dutch Dog that I don't know
how to pronounce. And then there's this dude Oliver Politics,
Peter something. You know how to say his name? The
guy who's gig.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
I think it's pete judge close. What about the is
it sheen or shine? And let's see shean?
Speaker 3 (50:38):
What about zendia zendeia?
Speaker 1 (50:43):
What about chapel rone, chapel ro chapel roon? What about.
Speaker 10 (50:51):
Just how you just said it?
Speaker 1 (50:53):
What about there's there's all? These are the words I
have no idea how to say.
Speaker 3 (50:56):
But anyway, Kyle, tell us about your shop hack how
it backfired because your last shopping hack was like to
order from Shields and then go get it.
Speaker 7 (51:04):
Yeah, I've been on this like Christmas shopping high right,
and I feel like I've been doing a really good job.
I told you guys, I took advantage of Black Friday
and Cyber Monday deals.
Speaker 17 (51:15):
And I've never been this.
Speaker 7 (51:17):
Far along in my holiday shopping list this early, Like never,
I'm always like down to the wire, like down to
the last minute, still running out the day before getting gifts.
Speaker 17 (51:26):
So I'm like, you know, I'm walking with a little
extra pep in my step. You know, look at me,
I'm almost.
Speaker 7 (51:32):
Done with my Christmas shopping right, and so on Black Friday,
I helped Addie get her cousin gift for my nephew
who who lives out of state, and.
Speaker 12 (51:43):
I was like, this is gonna be great. Here's what
we're gonna do.
Speaker 7 (51:46):
We're not gonna have it shipped to our house. We're
gonna have it shipped to my sister's house. Right, and
saved the cost of shipping, so we only have to
pay shipping one time. Right, genius, right on top of things.
Pep in my step.
Speaker 19 (51:56):
Right.
Speaker 7 (51:57):
So I text my sister and I'm like, hey, just
so you know, Colby's President's going to come to your house,
do you mind just opening it and wrapping it. ADDIE's
going to send a Christmas card that she makes separately,
and you can put that with it and Wiley it'll
be all done. She says, sure, no problem, and I'm
like excellent. So yesterday a package comes to my house
addressed to my sister.
Speaker 12 (52:17):
I put the wrong address. I will have the paper
shipping twice, got.
Speaker 10 (52:25):
Too ahead of myself.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Scott comes in.
Speaker 7 (52:27):
He goes a package came for Heather and I was like,
no way.
Speaker 19 (52:31):
He's like, yeah, that's what it says.
Speaker 17 (52:32):
I'm like, and it came here. He's sure, like he
didn't know.
Speaker 12 (52:36):
He didn't know I did that, so obviously he was sure.
I opened it. Up and sure enough there's his president.
And I'm gonna have to go to the UPS store today.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
So you know, there's a lot of those little mistakes happening.
So my wife's been, you know, during this time when
she orders of stuff from Amazon.
Speaker 1 (52:51):
We're not allowed to open anything.
Speaker 3 (52:52):
Exactly that, it's the rule, right, But I told you
I got all that stuff from the gap last week, right, So,
and I told her she was there when I opened
up my Gap presence. And I have an area in
the kitchen where my stuff goes, so like if there's
ever mail for me or something for me, my wife
puts it there. And when I came home yesterday there
was this huge bag of where my stuff is. It
(53:13):
was came in the mail and because there was a
bunch of packages outside the front door. So when I
went to go look at the bag, it says Dutch
Vans on it. So I'm like, why should give this
to me? It says Dutch vaness on it. So then
as the day goes on, now it's now at night,
we had dinner, We're sitting around and there's this big
bag still there, and I go, Dutch just has your
name on it. And Blake goes, I think that's your
T shirts. I go, I already got my T shirts.
Speaker 1 (53:35):
You were there. I already opened them up.
Speaker 3 (53:37):
So I think it's aid old Navy on it, and
old Navy I think, and the gap are like owned
by the same people. I think, right, So I go,
Dutch just has your name on it. So Dutch Blake
walks away. Dutch opens it up and it's pajamas. It's
like matching pajamas. And I'm like, I didn't order that,
and he goes, I didn't order that. So now Blake
comes downstairs. She sees them pajamas for people, and she goes, why.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
Did you guys open That was my big surprise?
Speaker 3 (54:08):
And we're like, Dutch are like, whoa, whoa. You told
us to open it. It has Dutchess name on it. You
thought it was my teachers? Like how are we not
supposed to up? We didn't order anything, none of us
are expecting any ding.
Speaker 1 (54:20):
But that was supposed to be a surprise of Dutches.
Speaker 3 (54:21):
Just like because we're gonna do Christmas with Camp and
his roommate Ethan. So that's why there's six of us
in the matching pajamas, right, Dutchess, like, Mom, we can
act surprise when everybody else opens the press. Plus nobody
wants to we're matching pajamas.
Speaker 1 (54:38):
We're not.
Speaker 3 (54:43):
A part of view of an eighteen year old kid
senior and just gonna I just see the pitch to
the rest of his brother, he'd be like, what matching
pajama and they're all flannel, so anyway, and she got
all upset, but.
Speaker 11 (54:57):
She's probably just she had the surprise and it got right.
Speaker 10 (55:01):
Yes, I'm like, Blake, take them back and get new jammies.
Then it's a surprise.
Speaker 3 (55:05):
And not only that, by the way, they also don't match.
There's three and two like they're.
Speaker 17 (55:12):
Like they're like coordinating.
Speaker 3 (55:14):
Maybe, but she thought they were all the same. I'm like,
how did you order? Did you not pay attention?
Speaker 1 (55:17):
Like it's so interesting?
Speaker 7 (55:19):
But that's what she needed. She needed you berating her
about her choice after you our surprise.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
Bella, good morning, Hey, good morning. How are you good?
Speaker 3 (55:30):
Good good, good good good. I understand you have a
very unique situation. You want our help, and we're debating
on whether we should help you or not. I'll tell
you why after you tell just tells you tell us
your situation and then we'll tell you, we'll tell you why.
Speaker 21 (55:40):
Okay, Well, I mean, okay, so I just know my
boyfriend is going to propose, and it's either going to
be on Christmas or New Year's I really don't know
which one, but I'm pretty like I just know what's
going to happen.
Speaker 26 (55:54):
But it's triving me.
Speaker 27 (55:55):
Crazy because it's so obvious.
Speaker 21 (55:58):
He's been dropping hints left and right. I can just
feel it in my gut. But I need to know
which day so you know, like my nails can be perfect.
I need like a fresh and done manicure, you know,
like you know how important that is?
Speaker 7 (56:12):
Yeah, because if it's on Christmas, then you can do
it before Christmas and itself fresh. But then there's like
a whole week in between years that growth comes out.
Speaker 3 (56:21):
So you want us to call your boyfriend to find
out when he's going to propose?
Speaker 21 (56:26):
Yeah, just you know, just get it out of him
about like which which like important day?
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Okay, just a few questions though, How sure are you
that what he's talking about as a proposition and not
something like, you know, a Christmas surprise somewhere like a
trippy How sure are you that it's a proposal one
hundred percent.
Speaker 27 (56:48):
I'm like, yeah, one hundred and ten percent.
Speaker 21 (56:50):
I mean just like just the comments he's been making
and shows we've been watching, like he even like I
saw him looking on Instagram.
Speaker 27 (57:00):
At tuxedos and whatnot. So to me, it's obvious.
Speaker 16 (57:04):
Isn't there a.
Speaker 17 (57:04):
Little bit of you though?
Speaker 7 (57:05):
That's like you're kind of ruining the surprise, right.
Speaker 11 (57:09):
Yeah, thats fun.
Speaker 3 (57:11):
That's the discussion we're having, Like we don't really like
to do that to a certain degree. Right, It's like,
it's not like your boyfriend, what's his name?
Speaker 1 (57:18):
Your boyfriend?
Speaker 27 (57:19):
Oh, his name is Kai, like Kai.
Speaker 3 (57:21):
Like if we get him on the air and he says, yeah,
actually I'm gonna propose tonight, then we've ruined his special
day and.
Speaker 17 (57:27):
He's probably working really hard to keep it secret.
Speaker 3 (57:29):
Like we need a disclaimer from you or whatever that says.
I mean, we're not responsible. Like, honestly, the four of
us in here talking and you, I don't want to
do it because I feel like our audience is to
get mad for us ruining this guy's proposal, do you
know what I mean?
Speaker 14 (57:43):
Well, I think I see your point.
Speaker 21 (57:46):
It's just that it's it's not going to ruin anything
because it's anything mine.
Speaker 1 (57:50):
It is going to ruin something.
Speaker 3 (57:51):
If a radio station called me before I proposed my wife,
and I remember that day I proposed to my wife.
If she knew was coming, it's a whole different thing, right, Well,
she probably have been happy.
Speaker 27 (58:01):
I just don't want to be blind sided. And he
knows that I don't like surprises either.
Speaker 1 (58:05):
So he would.
Speaker 21 (58:06):
I mean, it's anything, he'll just be like, oh yeah,
that's that's Bella doesn't want to want to be surprised.
Speaker 1 (58:13):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (58:13):
It still feels like there's so few awesome surprises left
in life, you know, to let that one just be.
I know that's not your nature. It might be worth
it for you just to wait and see what happens.
Speaker 21 (58:25):
I mean, should I just get my nails done every
other day?
Speaker 1 (58:28):
I don't want them to be chipped.
Speaker 27 (58:30):
Yeah, I gotta get my hair done.
Speaker 10 (58:32):
Yeah, I get it.
Speaker 1 (58:33):
The text are coming in right now. Don't do it.
Don't do it. Don't ruin your surprise.
Speaker 17 (58:37):
Oh my god, now do you think they're texting?
Speaker 7 (58:39):
Don't do it because they don't want us to ruin
the surprise for her, or they don't want to ruin.
Speaker 3 (58:44):
It for him, I think for him because you guys
work your butt off. Either way, look if you want to.
Speaker 7 (58:50):
Do it, if it actually turns out to be a
good thing and it makes him less nervous about that
anybody is upset because we do it.
Speaker 1 (58:56):
It was brought up. Okay, so we are protected. Okay?
Does that sound fair?
Speaker 17 (59:00):
Bella totally.
Speaker 21 (59:02):
I'm basically forcing y'all to do.
Speaker 1 (59:03):
This all on you.
Speaker 3 (59:05):
Okay, all right? So Kai, all right, We're gonna call
Kai and what do we do? It's not like a
war of the roses?
Speaker 1 (59:11):
Right, what's going on?
Speaker 13 (59:14):
No?
Speaker 11 (59:14):
I wonder if you can be like, hey, we you know,
caught when you might be proposing soon? Your name, your
email or your numbers showed up on this site. What
do you what do you think is better should we
Should you propose on Christmas Day?
Speaker 10 (59:27):
Or is it proposal better on New Ye's e?
Speaker 1 (59:29):
Just call him?
Speaker 2 (59:29):
Go Hey, Bella wants to win your special surprise.
Speaker 3 (59:33):
Did you see the letter? The letter I posted on
my Facebook. It says, uh, hey, guys, I'm really nervous
about something. I'd love hearing your your help. I'm going
to serious to your relationship and I'm ready to propose.
She lives at home with her family, and her family
loves me. I was thinking about doing it on Christmas
when she opens up the gifts with her family, I'm
gonna hand her mind, drop to a knee and surprise her.
(59:55):
That's what this guy is saying, right, And my post
was like, what should I tell this guy? And all
those people are like, one guy says that, one girl
says it's a bad idea, and then twenty five comments
are like do it?
Speaker 1 (01:00:05):
Do it? Do it on Christmas?
Speaker 17 (01:00:07):
Sounds like every sweet The way he set it up
is what I'm.
Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
Saying, is okay, I can say I posted this on
Facebook and everyone's asking me I got I got a
DM saying that you might be proposing soon.
Speaker 19 (01:00:20):
Yeah, or something like that. Yeah, that's a good idea.
Speaker 1 (01:00:23):
I don't know, something like that. Figure it out. Let's
call kai.
Speaker 19 (01:00:27):
All right, Hello, Hey is this guy?
Speaker 22 (01:00:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
What's going on?
Speaker 13 (01:00:41):
Hi?
Speaker 10 (01:00:42):
My name's Peyton.
Speaker 11 (01:00:42):
I'm with John Jay and Rich and we just wanted
to talk to you on the radio really quickly this
morning about a few things.
Speaker 3 (01:00:48):
Okay, Hey, so this is gonna sound crazy, but I
posted on my Facebook.
Speaker 1 (01:00:54):
This is John J.
Speaker 3 (01:00:55):
By the way, an email from a guy who's asking
for advice because he wants to propose to his girlfriend
on Christmas morning. And I have a whole bunch of
comments of people saying it's a good idea, some people
saying it's a bad idea. And then I got a
direct message from somebody and they gave me your phone
number and they say that you might be in the
same boat. So I was going to ask your advice
on whether it's better to propose on Christmas morning or
(01:01:18):
New Year's Eve. And if you're gonna do it, what
day are you picking?
Speaker 28 (01:01:22):
Man, I honestly can't even think about proposals or marriage
or anything like that, Like that's that's the last thing
on my mind right now. Like I've actually been trying
to figure out how to break up with my girlfriend
after the New Year. So I really don't think i'm
the best person to help you out.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
So wait, what you're not proposing?
Speaker 11 (01:01:42):
Wait?
Speaker 1 (01:01:43):
What is going on? Hello?
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
Well, the person that emailed me about that was your girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (01:01:50):
Oh, I mean.
Speaker 27 (01:01:51):
I've been over here like planning my life with you,
Like I've literally been fantasizing about you asking me to
marry you under the Christmas tree or on New Year's
Eve and you've been secretly plotting to leave me? Are
you out of your mind?
Speaker 28 (01:02:06):
I wasn't plotting it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:08):
I just.
Speaker 28 (01:02:10):
I don't know how to bring it up. Like it's complicated, Okay,
like I don't want to do this right now, like
the Holidad pays and everything.
Speaker 17 (01:02:18):
We can just talk late today.
Speaker 3 (01:02:19):
Okay.
Speaker 28 (01:02:20):
You didn't mean to lead you on, all right, It's
just everything's just been feeling off and I don't know
how to fix it.
Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Like okay, hey.
Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Let me just recap something real quick, so I understand correctly,
Bella thought you were going to propose on Christmas or
New Year's Eve? You want to break up with her? Yes, yes,
did not see that. Comet and Bella, you're just kind
of chortal. Chortal, chortal. You don't seem to like, oh okay,
well you're not. You're not crying, You're not upset. He
(01:02:56):
wants it's Christmas, you're going to be alone. He wants
to be I mean helping him.
Speaker 27 (01:03:01):
I'm in shock.
Speaker 21 (01:03:02):
I just don't know. I feel so stupid right now.
And I mean, come on, Kyle, you know how this
is gonna look to everybody? Right my mom, she's gonna
freak out.
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
So what do you want me to do about it?
Speaker 27 (01:03:18):
I don't know.
Speaker 21 (01:03:19):
I mean, we're just gonna have to fake this ship,
Like we're gonna have to fake this whole relationship until
after the holidays kiss.
Speaker 1 (01:03:26):
I don't know, Like, well.
Speaker 2 (01:03:27):
Can you work it out instead of faking it? Can
you talk about like what you might need from the
relationship that you're not kidding?
Speaker 21 (01:03:35):
I mean, that's I guess that's up to him, because
I'm over here thinking that if we're moving towards that
stage because we're just falling more and more in love.
But how if I'm so wrong about that? I really
don't know, Like what the fuck? I really don't want
I mean, we have to just get through the holidays
for my insanity at this point.
Speaker 28 (01:03:57):
Yeah, but honestly was pretty much like what I was
going to be doing anyways before you had said this all.
Speaker 3 (01:04:04):
So you did ruin it because if you wouldn't have
called us, you wouldn't know that he was going to
break up with you after the holidays, and then you
would have a nice happy Christmas in New Year's break and.
Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
Then sometime middle of January he break up with you.
Now you ruined it. It's a reverse proposal ruined.
Speaker 7 (01:04:20):
Yeah, yeah, just ripped the band aid off, have no notice.
Speaker 21 (01:04:24):
Okay, but like coming, I'd rather just not be made
a fool of Yeah, like and then the day's past.
Speaker 27 (01:04:31):
Like Christmas and New Year's and you don't propose, I'll be.
Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
But now you have to fake that everything's okay. You
see what I'm saying. Terrible, terrible. I was against it
from the beginning and.
Speaker 16 (01:04:43):
She didn't like you guys call it.
Speaker 11 (01:04:46):
But listen, Flla, you started this, you called us.
Speaker 10 (01:04:50):
But I'm twenty six.
Speaker 11 (01:04:52):
I've been with my boyfriend for four and a half years,
and I do think he's probably going to be proposing,
you know, within probably.
Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
Sure yet on the phone.
Speaker 10 (01:05:00):
No, But here's here's my point, Bella.
Speaker 11 (01:05:04):
If he were to be planning to break up with
me an X amount of times, like I would probably
want to know sooner rather than later so I can
start my healing journey.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
That's a good point.
Speaker 11 (01:05:13):
I would take this as like, yes, this sucks.
Speaker 10 (01:05:15):
That is not what you wanted to hear. It sucks
to get your hopes down or to be let.
Speaker 11 (01:05:19):
Down like that and get your hopes up. But like,
look at this, this as you you're out. Now you
can go and find someone who isn't going to drag
you along and fake through through the holidays and just
try to you know.
Speaker 10 (01:05:29):
B su through.
Speaker 11 (01:05:29):
So it's okay, look at this as it's an okay thing.
Speaker 17 (01:05:33):
Sure I do feel that way now, but that's true.
Speaker 12 (01:05:37):
It is true. You're not going to waste any more
time with them.
Speaker 1 (01:05:39):
Yeah, all right, we'll listen, I know.
Speaker 5 (01:05:42):
From under.
Speaker 1 (01:05:44):
Kaifraid Kai.
Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
Thanks for jumping on the air with this man. Yeah, thanks, yeah,
thank you, Bella. All right, have a great day, both
of you. Christmas wish. This wasn't a Christmas way, No,
I don't know what this was for.
