I don't really want to go. And I got invited
somewhere this morning, and it's really cool. It's nowhere ever
in a million years i'd want to go by myself.
But I feel kind of cool that I got invited,
you know what I mean. I think it's really really cool.
Are you ready for this?
Speaker 2 (00:31):

I don't think so. I don't know what it is.
I don't think it. Don't think it's music festival. I
think it's an art festival. There's music there, but it's
not like a Coachella.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
No, it's more a little more they burn something, yeah,
at the end of it, but there's music there.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
I don't know what it is. I just always heard
about it, never like I know what Coachella is Burning Man.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
Don't know. I just know it's always been cool.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
And then everybody, everybody I know that's ever been is
really cool.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
And I got invited and.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
Running Man is a week long, large scale desert event
focused on community, our self expression, and self reliance.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Sounds freaky, sounds cool right?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
A week though? How awful? How long would you have
to be there?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
The invitation? Here's where they lost me. Click here to
get your RV.
Speaker 5 (01:27):
Music. We collect musicians into groups, give them a chance
to practice with each other, and then spread them around
the Great Circle with the fire conclave on the night
to burn.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
I've seen this movie before.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Are you going to go?
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Like Midsummer? So yesterday you want to hear something to
share something with you?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Totally terrible, terrible debated whether actually bring it up on
the air.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
But it's a true story.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
And some of the story that I'm a going to
tell you has never really come up on the air,
I don't think so. Yesterday and it was gonna meet
my buddy to go work out, to go hiking, right
twelve forty five meters his house to go hiking. I'm
leaving the gym where my doctor is and she says, hey,
you know, and I'm like, I don't want to be late.
(02:15):
I like to be and it's a ten minute drive,
so I knew that I had to be out of
there by ten thirty five.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Beat his I was ten thirty five to twelve forty five.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
And at twelve thirty she's like, there's somebody here that
like to said hi.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Do you would you mind saying hi to them?
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Like, no problem, and that this person is getting into
a hyperbaric chamber. So they're like on a gurney and
I walk in and say hi. And the guy just
had spinal fusion surgery, right, and he's on a gurney
and he listens to the show and he worked for
Parker and Son's and he's a real nice guy and
he's been in my house before.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I'd always said hi to him.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
And then my doctor says, here's his wife. Say hi
to his wife's and I was like, oh, hey, nice
to meet you. And then my doctor says, tell him
the story of your baby. To the woman, she was, oh,
our son, he's thirteen years old. She goes, Now, keep
in mind, now I'm getting anxiety because I know I
have to be somewhere by toll forty five and they're
(03:11):
really nice people, and I want to meet him. And
she goes, thirteen years ago, fourteen years ago, we were
listening to you guys on the show. We listened every day,
and you guys were talking about your intern Brad. And
she's like, I'm pregnant, and we don't know what to
name our son. And Brad and intern Peyton, great guy.
And I called him Maverick. I said, he look, you
(03:31):
look like Maverick, top Gun, Maverick. Good looking guy. So
they were listening and they were like, that's it. We're
gonna name our son Maverick.
Speaker 4 (03:38):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
And so our son is thirteen.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Son, his name is Maverick and he's thirteen and like
going to become a pilot in pilot school.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Gosh wow.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
So I'm like, oh, that's awesome, man. So the dad's
in the gurney about to be put in a hyperbreak chamber.
The mom's sitting in a chair. I'm like, oh my god,
I'm gonna be It's it's twelve thirty nine. I have
to be there in six minutes, seven minutes, and I
am fifteen minutes, ten minutes away.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
Like, oh man, that's great. I go oh, you wouldn't
you know what happened to Brad? You guys know what
happen again?
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Very much so.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
And they're like, what happened to Brad?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Like he was working on his car in the garage
and the jacks fell and the car land on him.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
And crushed him and he died.
Speaker 4 (04:18):
Yeah, right then.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
And they both look at me and I was like, oh,
and I'm like, anyway, I'm sure your son will be fine,
because you know, they touched everything.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
And then I was like, uh, okay, I gotta go.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
And I walk out with my doctor and she's walking
out and she goes you probably didn't have to tell that.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
Part of the story, no.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Graduation.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Yeah, but I was like, in a hurry, what.
Speaker 5 (04:41):
Made you think that would end?
Speaker 1 (04:43):
Because they tied it to Brad. They named the kid
because of Brad, they named thee.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
You said that I got all the all the fields, right.
I would have probably had to say what a great tribute,
and that would have probably I don't speak.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
Like you, Rich, No, I know I would have never
had a million years with a great tribute. But that's
you know, if I'm gonna wait until see them again,
it's a great tribute.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yeah, I probably like.
Speaker 4 (05:03):
Want to avoid you now.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
They're like, this, dude's down.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
T This is like what John Jay reins on your parade.
You tell John J' something good, you don't tell you
why it's not so good?
Speaker 3 (05:14):
Good stuff about it? I feel terrible And it keeps.
Speaker 5 (05:16):
You up at night?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Are you waking up in the middle And I'm thinking
about that because that would keep me up a night. Well,
only have last night so that I'm having yesterday.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
No, there's not a lot to keep you up so
deep sleep deprivate today know them except my sleep opp
being mask last night was leaking air and my wife
started poking me at ten o'clock.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
That's annoying.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
That's fun to wake up too, that's pleasant.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
That's annoying for you.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
Yes, she woke up because it was annoying to her.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
But how do we hear it?
Speaker 3 (05:41):
I got like, there's like it comes out of the
side that you.
Speaker 4 (05:44):
Got your noise canceling hairphones on and your Dar's Vader
mask on.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
You're not hearing anything hairphones.
Speaker 5 (05:50):
You need to get your wife like a million Christmas
presents were just dealing with the year round.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
You basically need to do what Travis Kelsey did for
Taylor Swiss Bird Day.
Speaker 5 (05:58):
But for Christmas.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Speaking of shopping, tell us Kyle about the experience you
had with your kids shopping for the Angel Tree.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
It wasn't a great express It wasn't I thought it was.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
I think, no, well, it was a great experience because
I'm trying to, like, you know, you try to teach
your kids to be good people, right and like, for me,
part of being good person is giving back, you know,
and doing what you can do to help others around
you when you can.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
You do that all the time.
Speaker 5 (06:25):
And apparently I don't do a good enough job about
I realized because shopping with my kids for we picked
two hearts off of the Angel Tree. So we had
two kids, and I thought it would hit home to
my kids more if they were kids that were their ages.
So we got a ten year old girl and a
six year old boy and he was like, but I'm seven,
(06:46):
And I was like, who cares?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
This already is not going?
Speaker 3 (06:50):
Well, say who cares?
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Like that?
Speaker 3 (06:51):
We're in a great sweater.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
So we go we start shopping and it's like they
start off good because in the car I give them
this speech like listen, we're very blessed that, like, you
are going to have presents under the Christmas tree this year.
But these kids, these hearts, they don't even have parents.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
They're part of the foster care system.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
They don't have parents, they don't have presents that are
coming under the Christmas tree. So we want to spread
some joy and give them maybe a little Christmas joy, okay,
And they were like, that's really sad. So it kind
of hit them and so we started off the shopping experience.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
It was great. They were like.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Picking out things that they thought these kids would like
that they kind of like. And then the more we're
in this in the store, the more our kids are like,
well can I have this? And I'm like nope. Remember
we're not shopping for ourselves today, we're shopping for other people.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Oh okay, well can I have this?
Speaker 5 (07:46):
Like, no, we're not shopping for ourselves today, we're shopping
for other people. Remember, other people that aren't.
Speaker 4 (07:53):
Going to get gifts?
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Well, can you just take a picture of it so
that I can put it on my list later?
Speaker 3 (08:00):
But that's how it starts. Now you're teaching them now
they're still very very young, just the age. It's perfect.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
No, at the moment actually came about we're almost done.
We have a few more items left, and Easton starts
doing his thing where he he turns from a seven
year old into like a two year old and he
starts like his body gets all heavy.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Swamps down. I don't like shopping for other people. And
I'm like, that's why we need to do it more.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
I need to do it more.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
And you're just showing me a mirror and I'm doing.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
It all wrong.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
My son, Jake was supposed to drop off all those
presents gestated to DCS yesterday and Blake goes, She goes,
you have Jake's gonna drop off off all the stuff,
and go great. I come home. She texts me. She goes,
we're gonna'm gonna do tomorrow morning because he's sick. I go,
he's sick.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I come home. He's on the couch, watch TV in
a subway sandwich. Are you sick. No, they're supposed to
drop off this stuff.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Oh yeah, So she's doing it right now.
