Speaker 1 (00:00):
He's coming in right now, Benny Blanco, can you hear
us loud and clear?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Hi?
Speaker 3 (00:07):
Hi, Hi? Anybody?
Speaker 4 (00:09):
I hear everyone loud and clear. I'm clear.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yeah, you're clear.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
But I gotta tell you, Benny and I I couldn't
resist the urge to reach out to him on Valentine's Day.
I couldn't stop myself. I couldn't help myself. The guy did.
He did a cute romantic gesture filling a bathtub up
with nacho cheese sauce instead of flower petals, a trail
of petals chips, I mean, the chips.
Speaker 3 (00:33):
How'd you come up with that idea?
Speaker 2 (00:36):
Honestly, that was just like a prequel to what we did.
What I actually like did for like the actual date night.
Is her favorite thing in the world is Whataburger. It's
like a chain that's mostly in like Texas and other areas,
and there's not one in La So I found a
way to get her what a Burger here. I actually,
(00:57):
like one of my friends drove from Vegas to like
bring it to me. All the parts separate, and I
like found a way to heat them all up in
the perfect way, and like kept the bags and like
put it back in and she was on the phone
with her grandma, and I walk into our room and
I had it in my hand and she was just
talking and she.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
Like looked and she was like what the and she what.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
She said, it was the best thing I did besides
ask her to marry me.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
She said it was. She said it was very close.
She said it was almost that's good.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Wow, he's talking about Benny Bucco and Selena Gomez.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
They're very close. That's a really good friendship.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
You've got for somebody to make that kind of an
effort to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Like I'm just saying, if.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Tiny asked me to do that there, yes you would.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
So they happened to be coming back like it was.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
It was like a coincidence and like, yeah, you got
to have the ride or dies for your friends.
Speaker 3 (01:53):
You got it. What's especially about a what a burger though?
That in and out doesn't.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Do Honestly, It's like I think it's you know, that nostalgia,
that child memory, and it was like she had constantly. Yeah,
she's just like she's she's honestly extremely easy to please.
Like Ryan, I feel like you would be like I
want like caviar from this place. She was like, her
(02:18):
entire meal was like four dollars and eighty cent I
love I should have got her that instead of a ring, like.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
You'll learn, You'll learn.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
So Benny Blanco does I mean he and Selena did
this album together, which is very exciting. It's called I
Said I Love You First. Who did indeed say that first?
Speaker 4 (02:36):
She said it?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
She said it.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
I know, it's hard to believe she's the one.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
Who what does she say? Like, I mean, there, what? What?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
What is it that when you break it down, what
is it that happened between the two of you, because
you've known each other a long time?
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Yeah, here's exactly what happened.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
She she had like very early into like when we
were dating, she like broke her hand in like the
craziest way. She has like a metal plate now in
her hand. Most people don't know, but she has like
a crazy metal plate in her hand.
Speaker 1 (03:08):
And she.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
Was coming out of like anesthesia from it, and she
was like, I love you. And I was like what,
And I'm like, she didn't know that it happened and
it was like way too early in the relationship to
say and she was like and she was like, I
love you so I first, I pretended that one didn't happen, Okay.
Then there was one like a few months after where
(03:34):
she was out with some friends at dinner and they
were like sending me a cute like audio message back
and they were all like, oh my god, we really
wish you were here.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
Love you.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
And when she said love you, she was like love you,
I mean, and it was like like the craziest mumble.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
And I like didn't count that one.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
You there, wow?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
And then I was actually like about to do it
when we were in New York City, like uh, you know,
so long ago, and I remember she kept like almost
saying it that day and I was like we were
in bed together and I knew she was gonna say it,
and I was like, wait, I was like, let me
(04:16):
just have this moment, and she could feel I was
gonna say. I was like, let me just have this
moment of like me say it, And then she just
said it out loud before me.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
And cut you off.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
Oh well, oh, but it's so funny. But before you
say I love you, it's like this like thing. It's
so scary you never know after you say it, or
like what have we been calling each other for the
last year.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:39):
Well, there's relief when you both feel the same thing.
I've been in situations where it hasn't gone so swimmingly,
you know.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
I mean, it's that's okay. I survived, but god, that's.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Like my biggest fear. I just got a lump in
my throat.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
I've said, I've said things like in the past, like
I love you.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (04:58):
I love I said I love you, you know what
I mean. Like I followed up with you know what
I mean. If I don't get it reciprocated immediately, I
love you, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Because you've got to play it off.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
Yeah, that could be the album. I mean, that's not
the album. But let me play a little bit. We're
gonna play some music here, Benny Blancos with us. This
is called Scared of Loving you.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
Because I'm not scared.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I'm just scared.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
The reason I did not get a dog, Benny for
a long time.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
You don't like we don't like endings. You know.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
I know I have two dogs in the background. That's
why I keep looking down. One of them just like
keeps like licking my foot.
Speaker 3 (05:37):
You can't choose on probably right, your barefoot?
Speaker 2 (05:39):
I am barefoot. I think most people are barefoot in
their house.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Right, Yeah, it goes both ways.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
I mean you can't barefoot here to the Bourbon studio.
Speaker 4 (05:48):
You're not barefoot in your own home?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I am, Yes, I'm in my yes slippers.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Are you guys?
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Like?
Speaker 4 (05:55):
Are you guys? Hocus doocs at home?
Speaker 3 (05:58):
Depends on the season. If my feet are cold, I'll
have socks on.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Nobody sleeps with socks on. No, you're a murderer. Yes,
that's a deal, like serial killer.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Yeah, all right, let's come back with Benny. I gotta
play another track for you. Benny Blanco is here. He
and Selena got the album out March twenty. First got
to track the racy abrams on there too. Ryan Seacrest
with you quite a dancer, Pretty good dancer, bro, I
just saw your moves.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Uh wait till you see me on the floor. A
few Olive oil shots deep, I'm good.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
He's a fan of the extra version Olive oil.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, shout out to Ryan's Olive oil. It's incredible. It's like, honestly,
this is I would like to be a full spokesman
for it. Some of the best Olive I've ever had
in my life.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Oh my gosh, I love that Sisney and Tanya have theirs.
It's uh, it's it's it's my Frida, And enjoy my
little hobby. I'm gonna set up a farmer's market stand
one de Benny. I'll tell you about it.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
All right.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
Let's let's talk Selena Gomez. Benny's album arts twenty first.
So there's a track of Gracie Abrams call Me when
you break up. Give us a little backstory on this one.
Speaker 2 (07:06):
I mean, I've known Gracie since she was like literally
like fourteen years old. The first some of the first
music she ever did, I helped her on. And you know,
she was, you know, my protege at the time. It
was his girlfriend and we met her and he was
doing all her music. And to watch what she has
grown into it is you know, I put her on
my album like five years ago too, and and I
(07:29):
always thought she was going to be something so unbelievably special.
And to watch like her just like crush it and
right now and just like completely dominating is so insane.
Doing it on her own terms with music that's like
that's not necessarily like exactly what's always going on at
radio and like that. It's just always so special to me.
(07:53):
And you know, Selena just started like following her. One
day we were like talking about it, and then we
were in bed once and she was like, I really
like Gracie Abrams. Do you do you think she'd ever
want to like do a song with me? And I
was like, yeah, I think she probably wants to do
a song and I and I asked Gracey and honestly,
(08:15):
I didn't even know because like, Gracie's so cool.
Speaker 4 (08:16):
I was like, maybe she won't want to, and Gracie
was like, are you kidding me?
Speaker 3 (08:20):
She was like that.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
She was like, Selena's like my idol, like my child
is idle.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
And I love the humility in that question from Selena,
like do you think she'd want to do something with me?
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I mean she's always like that.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
It's crazy. She like she It's funny.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
People always say online they're like, I don't think Selena
Gomez realizes she's the Selena Gomez and it's it is
so funny because in everything we do, yeah, she's like
the biggest pop star in the world who wants to
be like fade into a room and have nobody notice
(08:55):
her at all. She's like incredibly shy. If you know
her at all, you know that's just like the type
of person she is.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
So we're gonna play this whole track and then let
Benny get into his life today. But what what did
you guys significantly break through? Because you are together in
real life as too humans and you're also working on
this project together that didn't allow you to go to
places that you probably wouldn't have gone individually.
Speaker 4 (09:20):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
You know I've written songs with Selena for years. You know,
we've had songs for ten plus years, and you know,
fortunately we've had some really big songs together.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
And this started out as.
Speaker 2 (09:31):
Something that we just did in our bedroom, Like the
whole album was recorded in our house. And I feel
like before, I mean, Selena is an open book, but
I feel like I couldn't ask her certain questions I
got to ask her on this album and we couldn't
And also like certain questions we couldn't talk about like
in our relationship. But for some reason, if there's like
music playing and it's like you're saying a lyric, it's
(09:53):
like you're like, oh okay, Like if it wasn't like
if we weren't in the studio and she likes said
those things, I'd be like, oh okay, Like it would.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Have like a very different sentiment.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
And it became this like cathartic and like therapeutic experience
where I feel like, A I got to know her
even a little bit better, and then b it made
me realize.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
I'm like, oh, we're like really good at communicating, Like
our communicating builds are like through the roof.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Because we didn't there was like never a time like
if she was like I don't work with this, I
was like, yeah, me neither, and and.
Speaker 4 (10:30):
Like if I did, I was like, well here's why.
And I realized, like I was like, wow, we're a
really good couple.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
That's honestly realize how good we are and how we like,
you know, we don't like fight about ever, Like it's
we're just like we just talk about stuff and she's
my best friend.
Speaker 4 (10:49):
And it gave me another chance to be able.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
You know, we both work so much and we're both
doing so many different things, so it just gave us
that much more time to have to spend with each
together and to spend with each other.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
I love hearing that. I mean, Benny's a legend. Selena
is a legend, the two of them teaming up on this.
I'm gonna play the track now here. It is with Gracie.
Call me when you break up. Ben, you hope to
see you soon, Budy, thanks for coming on.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Yay am, I off the mix. I'm not in the mix.
I'm soon, guys please.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah, when you guys are cooking, call see you later.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Come on,
