Speaker 1 (00:00):
One, don't two point seven. It is kiss FM. Good
Morning Ryan, secrets with you. This is interesting Katie Holmes,
it's on the line here. We're gonna bring her up
in a second. But Katie Holmes goes to as many
jingle balls as we do.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's true.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
I've seen heright a lot of jingle balls.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Right, yeah, and she has the most fun.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I also think she's got a good fashion sense.
Speaker 4 (00:23):
She kind of broke the internet the last jingle Ball
that she went to with.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Her fashion sense. I loved that for her.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
What was the what was the last well she wore
jeans with like this tube top dress and everybody was
talking about it.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Yes, and Katie is on the line with us now, Hey, Katie,
good morning.
Speaker 5 (00:38):
Good morning Ryan.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
How are you super good?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
We were just saying that we love that you come
to our jingle Ball and we get to see you
sort of on a regular basis and check in.
Speaker 5 (00:46):
I love jingle Ball so much fun.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
It is a lot of fun. We'll be giving away tickets,
I'm sure starting in July. We're always ramping into.
Speaker 5 (00:57):
Here. I went with my nephews and we dan and danced.
It was so much fun.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
When you walk the red carpet. They just put up
a photo of you on the iHeart Red carpet at
jingle Ball, and I don't know how to quite describe
the style, but Sisney and Tany were saying that, like
everybody responded to what you were wearing. Do you know
going in that you're going to make a splash with
fashion writers?
Speaker 5 (01:22):
No, No, I just wore what I thought would be
fun and what I wanted to dance and and have
a good time. And Julia, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
You come anytime, Katie Holmes with us.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Now, you definitely kicked off a look, Katie, and I
got to tell you, I was just at Coachella over
the weekend and there were so many girls that were
actually rocking that same style that you wore a jingle
Ball a few months ago. So you are a trendsetter.
Speaker 5 (01:47):
Oh fun, Oh wow, Well, thank you and Katie, before
we get to your project.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
No one more excited than our producer Mark, who just
revealed to me that his daughter was born two days
after Surrey and feels a real connection to you. I
think for that, and I think it's Surrey's birthday week,
so I thought I just mentioned that.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
Oh, thank you, thank you, and happy birthday to his daughter.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
That's nice. Mark. Were you watching coverage of Surrey?
Speaker 5 (02:15):
Yes, we were in you know, thank you.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
We were in the birthing room and on the TV
was the coverage of Surrey Cruse's birth, and so I
was thought to myself, they're like tiged together.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I'm always gonna remember that they have born a few
days apart.
Speaker 5 (02:31):
Oh wow, Oh that's so sweet. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Did you get Surrey a gift?
Speaker 1 (02:37):
Mark?
Speaker 3 (02:37):
No, not yet. Well I'm not not so tied together.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
So Katie, listen, I know we spoke about this a
few weeks ago, but this is an incredible project that
she's kind of wearing all the hats for you.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
It's called Rare Objects.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
It is in theaters and on demand, and you directed it,
you star in it.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
This is something you've been behind for a long time.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Tell us a little bit about it and what interested
you in making this.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Well, it's based on a book of the same name,
and I've been working on it for about five years,
you know, doing other projects that you know are working
on it, and the pandemic is kind of put a
put a little pause on it. But then we were
able to make it in twenty twenty one, and this
(03:28):
is a story about friendship and also about resilience and
about the power of art and the power of human
connection and and friendship and how that can really uh
be something that's very healing to another person. So for me,
(03:50):
I wanted to put out something that was heartfelt and hopeful.
But there there's there's stuff in there that's that's hard
to h hard to watch, but it's ultimately I'm I
think that the audience leaves feeling hopefully seen in some
ways and hopefully with the sense of hope.
Speaker 3 (04:13):
And directing it as well. How are you to work with?
Speaker 5 (04:18):
I have good days and bad days. I hope I
had more good days than bad. It was really rewarding.
It was hard work, but you know everything's hard.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Yeah, yeah, rare objects Katie Holmes with us. It's in
theaters and on demand, so check that out. And I
do kind of like, I just want you to know
that we picture you listening to the morning Show here
even if you don't don't tell us, but we do
picture you listening since we see you all the time.
So if you don't, don't ruin the fantasy.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
I do, I do listen. So I'm glad you pictured
me listening. Perfect.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Okay, good well, thanks call any time and good luck
with this continued success.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Katie, thanks for calling.
Speaker 5 (05:04):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
All right bye. Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
You know she's very very what's the right word, Like,
she's cerebral. She's cerealboy, that's not the word I was
looking for, but she is. But she's like she's kind
and approachable, like kind, you know, she's like a calm
sense to her.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
Calm, that's what's Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I was her escort for one of the jingle balls,
and she was surprised, Like I was kind of scared
because she's really like mega famous, but she was really
really chill.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
She's that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
Like, there's there's a calmness to her that we don't
always carry, we don't collectively always carry that. Right, your
jingle ball tickets, No, I'm kidding, coming up five seconds
of summer actually gonna be the key of four.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
You said that, and it sounded so natural that I
didn't even flinch.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
I was like, yeah, because I thought we do start
jingle ball tickets in August.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Do you say I'm cheesing, I'm teasing, oh teazing. I
was like, oh wow, he's always cheezing.
Speaker 1 (05:59):
Though it don't take don't don't bite my cheese. Uh
you know about five Sauce tia Form. You told me
they're underrated.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
They are so underrated. They are such fantastic musicians and
they put on such a great show. They deserve way
more credit than they're getting.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
Well, let's get it. Let's go see them. September tickets
to neck
