Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're on with Mario Lopez. Here we go.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Mario Lopez stepping back to the mic might be a holiday,
but that's not gonna stop us from getting back to work.
Fun few hours of radio fun ahead, Lost and Taken
actress Maggie Grace zooming in to talk about her new movie,
The Secret Art of Human Flight. Plus Corney and I
are going to be competing another fun pop culture pop quiz. Later,
gonna dig into the buzz and explain why some women
are saying they are going boy sober. So turn it up.
(00:26):
Labor Day edition of On with Mario starting right now,
You Mario, Courtney Lopez, and celibacy is becoming a more
popular trend. Chloe Kardashian, Lenny Kravitz, and Julia Fox are
all doing it. Cosmo published an article call are They
According to them, it's called women are sick of dating? Now,
there's a term for women who are abstaining. They're going
(00:48):
boy sober. It's about putting down the dating apps prioritizing activities.
Speaker 3 (00:53):
That are more fulfilling.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
There are no hard rules about being boy sober, but
typically they involve no apps, no x's, no hook. So
you know this is a very cleansing and healthy exercise.
Boy man or woman. I should say I think too
often people just kind of go from a relationship to
the next is when you kind of don't figure out
(01:14):
your own stuff, work on some personal stuff, you'll be
ready for the next one.
Speaker 4 (01:18):
Yeah, you would never do this if you.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I wouldn't personally, but I'm just saying for another individual's yes, no,
I absolutely would not.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
More Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Mario Lopez, here was some quick buzz for you.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
It sounds like Austin Butler's Elvis accent is here to stay.
That's according to Cindy Crawford, whose daughter is dating Austin.
She says she had no idea that he was actually
from Anaheim because she's only known him to have a
Southern twang. That's so random and ridiculous because I spent
more than half my life in the South, and I
don't have a Southern right.
Speaker 3 (01:50):
This dude was live in his Elvis for what four months?
Speaker 5 (01:53):
Right?
Speaker 2 (01:54):
God, dude, Like that's that's so funny because now in interviews,
not just in rolls, like when he's performing, when he's
having conversation, Sidney Crav's going, dude, you're from Disneyland.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Like take it easy, Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Here was some quick buzz for you former Dukes of
Hazzard actor John Schneider. I believe Luke Duke has tied
the knot for the fourth time. Look at my guy.
He married d D Sorvino, widow of Paul Sorvino. They
each lost their spouses in the past two years. Congratulations
to those two.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
But right now, let's play some more music. Soby al
Mario Corney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
So on Friday, we were talking about this new movie
that just came out in theaters called The Fabulous Four
with Susan Sarandon, Making Malowly, Cheryl Lee, Ralph and Bette Mintler.
The premise of the movie is that Bette Mintler's husband
passes away and she meets someone and gets married just
two months later, which begs the question, of course, what's
(02:53):
the proper amount of time to wait before you move on?
I want your opinion, honey, so let's hear it first.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
I mean, there's no rules, honestly when it comes to
a situation like that, because everybody handles grief differently. It's
kind of like when you have a dog who passes away.
Some people get a dog right away because it makes
them feel better, and some people wait a long time.
So I think it all depends on your situation. I
also don't think that that doesn't mean you don't love
the person that isn't there anymore. I know some people
(03:24):
that will never get remarried.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
You're exactly right, I do know some people. I think
it is a little different though, considering your age. That
Midler is a senior. Right when you're a little older,
you don't have how much time to play with, so
I think they move on a little quicker if you're
like in your twenties thirties, I think it's important to
kind of give yourself a little bit of time to
kind of not just agree, but to grow as an individual,
(03:49):
because you've got time at that point when you get
a little older, you know who you are, you know
what you want.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 4 (03:55):
But you do realize that all of our days are numbered,
no matter how they are.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Of course you don't know, do you think it's way
further away? You have more time? Like so you hand
to show what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
So, my mom was married before she married my dad,
and then her first husband tragically died.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
How long the way and let's see he died.
Speaker 6 (04:13):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
So she married my dad two years later.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Two years okay, so.
Speaker 6 (04:19):
That was all.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
That was two years so she was in her she
was in her early thirties at that point.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Okay, would you rather me move on or no?
Speaker 3 (04:28):
You're not get to participate in any of this.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
First of all, I played living everyone here.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
That's fine. I want to die before.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
You shut up. I don't want to hear that. Well,
she wants to be.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Able to you.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yeah, I just want to haunt you and play games. Yes,
no prank.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
I think if you're younger, god forbid that happens.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Take your time a little older, eh, you know what
you do your thing?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Tell Mario what do you think? On Twitter at On
with Mario More Mario Lopez on the Way.
Speaker 2 (04:54):

Line up a stack too coming like Abo du Alipa

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Whatout Mario Lopez here?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Today's guest has been part of some big franchises, Twilight,
take In the Walking Dead. It's actress Maggie Grace and
her new movie is all about a guy who believes
he can learn how to fly. It's called The Secret
Art of Human Flight. We're gonna learn all about it
after a few more songs'sby al Mario Lopez joining me
now on Zoom for the new movie The Secret Art
of Human Flight actress Maggie Grace.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Welcome to the.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Show, Maggie, Thanks for having me, Thanks for taking the time.
Congratulations on the film seems pretty high concept.
Speaker 3 (05:54):
What's it about?
Speaker 6 (05:56):
Well, it's it's one young man's attempt to work through
grief and some rather whimsical and unusual ways. It's not
as sad as I think it seems, though it does
deal a lot with grief. It certainly has a playfulness
which truw me to it as well.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
And what is your character doing in all.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
This Wendy who kind of helps to midwife him through
the experience. He believes he can learn to fly at
one point. So I wonder perhaps if Wendy is a
slight allusion to Peter Pan. But she's a neighbor who's
(06:40):
lost her husband and can kind of come alongside, and
she's less a mentor as someone else who can just be,
you know, be with him in this time and kind
of reassure.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Yeah, it sounds like a crucial part of his life
that he needs their nice Well, congrats on that The
Secret Art of Human Flighters in theaters.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
Now got to take a little break. We're gonna come
back with Maggie Grace.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Mario Lopez here.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
My guest today is Maggie Grace from the movie The
Secret Art of Human Flight. And you're also in Blackwater Lane.
And I know you filmed that in the UK.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
What was that fun?
Speaker 2 (07:20):
What's that one about?
Speaker 3 (07:21):
That was really fun?
Speaker 1 (07:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (07:24):
It was. It was a whole family affair. I brought
my parents and my son to England so fun. I
have to have my head checked. I think that it
was really fun and gosh, you know, I can't give
too much away with that.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
But it's it's a bit of a thriller, okay.
Speaker 6 (07:42):
But we had a great time and got to do
a lot of our own stunts, and we were in
this beautiful old estate in the east of England, just
outside of Norwich, so really wonderful place and had a
lot of character to it and if you believe in ghosts,
felt very haunted.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Oh okay, I like me a thriller too. How did
you balance having the family there because there's long hours
on set and I'm sure the last thing you want
to do is go and entertain and run around town
when you need to study and rest, right, I mean.
Speaker 6 (08:14):
I'm a bit of a nerd anyway, a lot of
early nights, but but yeah, it was fun. Nor is
such a beautiful place. It's kind of you know, has
an industrial pass but a maker present, kind of like
I guess Pittsburgh in the US. I love it there,
and we got to see a lot of history and
(08:34):
walk the couplestone streets and yeah, I mean I was
just trying to spend as much time as I could
with my little son when I wasn't at work.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
So yeah, are you from Pittsburgh?
Speaker 6 (08:49):
No, I just I think it's a great example of
you know, American ingenuity with a sort of industrial feel.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
But there's not it.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Okay, now I get it? Fair enough, Okay, hold on, Maggie,
gotta play some more music. What on, Mario Lopez? Here,
got actress Maggie Grace on zoom with me. And it's
been ten years since the last Taken movie.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
They ever try to make a fourth film?
Speaker 1 (09:14):
Oh? Good on?
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Hope not at that point. It's just bad parenting, right.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Right right? However, the world love to get everyone together.
That would be fun. That would be fun, I'll get it.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
The world of Walking Dead, though, keeps expanding. Would you
be open to returning to that universe?
Speaker 6 (09:32):
Oh gosh, yeah yeah, I mean that's that's a really
fun franchise, very tight cast. So yeah, people come and
come back sometimes as long as they are you.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
Know, a zombie.
Speaker 6 (09:46):
Right.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
That would be twenty twenty hours in the makeup chair
right there. Hold on, Maggie, got to play some more music.
You're on, Maria Lopez. My guest today is actress Maggie Grace,
whose new movie is called the Secret Art of Human Flight.
But the no Lost is having a bit of a resurgence. Dude,
do fans still want to ask you about Channon?
Speaker 6 (10:06):
I get asked about Lost all the time. I think
it was just released on Netflix this week for the
twenty year, which just throws me for a loop. I mean, yeah,
it's sort of like my my college experience, you know.
I wish they would do something with that one, or
(10:27):
even a cast reunion anything.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
Really, how do we be like dream?
Speaker 2 (10:32):
How did you find out about your character being killed?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (10:35):
I got a very kind and respectful, you know, conference
call from all the producers.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
I mean, you know when everybody's on.
Speaker 6 (10:47):
Yeah, you're like, this is either really good or really bad. Right?
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah, well we know that ended. Hey, I gotta take
a short break. One more thing I want to ask
you though the whole tight We're gonna have more with that.
Grace on the Way.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
You're the full interview now at on with Mario dot Com.
More Mario Lopez on the Way.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Mario Lopez here wrapping things up with actress Maggie Grace.
And you mentioned your son earlier. How old is he now?
Speaker 6 (11:13):
He's almost four? And I have a daughter who's one.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Oh, that's fun.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
So yeah, it's I'm busy.
Speaker 5 (11:19):
That's great on each trying to reconcile, as you said,
like the nature of our work and that kids really
drive and love routine, so those two things require some juggling.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, well you're making it all work, so good for you.
Congratulations on everything, and listen, you can watch The Secret
Art of Human Flight in theaters now and available on
demand now.
Speaker 3 (11:43):

Speaker 6 (11:45):
Thanks lovely it for you. You two.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Take care, Mario Courtney Lopez, there was a quick buzz
for you.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
Prayers go out to actress Danielle Fischl, who recently revealed
that she's been diagnosed with breast cancer. She says it's
at such an early stage. It's technically stage zero and
she's gonna have surgery to remove it.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
That's good, she.
Speaker 4 (12:15):
Said she caught it so early because she made her
annual mammogram with This just reminded me I need to
make mine. Women don't put it off. You need to
make it appointment as soon as you can. This really
is no joke.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Yeah, a Marik Courtney Lopez and Jojo Siwa makes music
history for the wrong reasons On.
Speaker 1 (12:32):

Speaker 2 (12:35):

Didn't even know that was a thing. It's got three
point one million dislikes.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Uh wow, that's cool as ice.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
So they give you an option. Huh. Next on the
list is Taylor Swift's Fortnight. That's surprising actually with three
hundred and fifty thousand. That's a distant second, by the way,
followed by Katy Perry's Woman's World with three hundred and
thirty thousand. I heard a lot of stuff about that.
JoJo's looking on the positive side of the news, saying
she's the only artist who can say she topped Taylor Swift.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Well, that's a good spin.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
That's funny. That's funny. Is this the one that she
wears the construction vest?
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Okay, where we were breaking it down? Yes, not we you?
