Speaker 2 (00:24):
You're all Mario, Courtney Lopez and the Summer Olympics. We're
a big hit. This year, NBC Universal averaged more than
thirty two million viewers each day, a seventy six percent
increase from the Tokyo Games in twenty twenty one. That's huge, Peacocks,
as people spent nineteen point one billion minutes watching on
the streamer, more than all their previous Olympics coverage combined.
(00:44):
The Games were huge on TikTok too, with more than
one point three million posts. That was more than eighteen
hundred percent higher than the Games in Tokyo. And here
is the takeaway as far as the Olympics for me,
it did really well with our NBA. He shows two
Access Dalian, Access Hollywood, but it was U. It was
a tail that was sort of a roller coaster. It
(01:07):
had that sort of controversial opening ceremonies right right then
we went into the triathlon where the swimmers couldn't swim
because the fecal matter was above safe levels, to which
I asked, well, what is a safe level ofal matter?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Too?
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Exactly? Those were real headlines, but to me the athletes
that's not the most was my guy that looked like
an assassin from Turkey who won the silver medal. I
don't even know who won the gold, but he doesn't matter.
Was John Wick and he was just so cool, collected,
with a hand in the pocket, both eyes open. And
the breakdancer from Australia, she was awesome, bless her heart.
(01:45):
I thought it was a practical joke. I must have
watched I don't know how many times it with their
little kangaroo job in the beginning. She just I love her.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
I mean, Sonny could have done that, Yeah, totally.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Totally could have done that. That's when you lie on your resume,
you don't get the job. Mario Lopez coming up a
Mario Courtney Lopez let's take a look at what's on
TV today.
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Amazon has Kings of Fish. It's the reality show about
the San Pedro Fish Market, the largest family restaurant in
the world.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah, that's right here in La. We've actually never gone honey.
As much as I love fish, we need a cruise
all we should.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
We should swim over there. If you will. Max and
HGTV debut one hundred Day Hotel Challenge. Married real estate
developer compete against each other to transform two dated hotels
within one hundred days.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Okay, getting into hotels? Now, what a Mario Courtney Lopez here?
We find something to celebrate every day. What is today's holiday?
Speaker 3 (02:39):
It is International left Handers Day.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
You know what's funny because my grandfather is left handed.
But my dad obviously didn't turn out left handed. Needed
that I or any of our boys, some assuming the grandkids.
But I've got cousins that are left handed and uncles
that are left handed. Some famous left handers Angelia and Jolie,
former President Obama, Fernando Allezuela from the Dodgers. There's a
(03:05):
lot of.
Speaker 5 (03:05):
Very go the most famous left handed.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Those are the ones off the top of my head.
Three different fields good to know. Yo, Mario Courtney Lopez.
Time to learn a new live hack. What is the
top of today at Courtney's Corner.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
H the opening jars. You know, they can get stuck
and some people have those little rubber grips to get
them open. I remember growing up my mom had a
bunch of those. But if you don't, this is the
next best thing. Plastic wrap. You cover the jar with
some of that. It will stick to the lid and
not slip, and you can easily twist the lid off
(03:39):
without breaking your hand.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
Hond that that is a really good heads up, and
also keep your hands dry because they're slightly wet forgetting.
Speaker 6 (03:48):
Yeah or Mario Lopez coming up, Mario Courtney Lopez.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
There, we're getting closer and closer to the iHeartRadio Music
Festival September twenty, the twenty first in Vegas. All month
we're given away free trips to Vegas so you can
see it live.
Speaker 3 (04:02):

two hundred two hundred. Tomorrow's keyword drops at nine am,
one pm, and five pm, so make sure you are
tuning in.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Mario Lopez here with their first look at Lion King
movie Moufassa. It has the same photorealistic animation as the
twenty nineteen remake. It tells a story about a young
Mufasa and Scar as they became close as brothers. Is
ironic because a lot of envy going on there. Movie
hit theaters right before Christmas, but you can see the
trailer right now Onmarrio dot com. Yon Mario Courtney Lopez.
(04:35):
Time for your comments. Would you find honey.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
This is from amber Wave five of great And she said,
as a white person, I can confirm this to be true.
Sweet Caroline is our national anthem.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
So funny. I think amber Wave five of great is
referring to a meme I posted of my favorite Olympic athlete,
Ray Gun from Australia, the Breakdancer, and I said something like,
whenever white people will hear Sweet Caroline, this is them, which,
by the way, I love Sweet Caroline. It's a great song.
But oh man, my girl from Australia, the Breakdancer, provided
(05:14):
just endless comedy, especially with memes and videos. It was
just the best.
Speaker 3 (05:18):
I want to meet her teacher.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Hey, she's more famous than most of the athletes. Way
more you give me, way more famous. I think she
benefited more and I think she was freestyling.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Honey, she freestyled that.
Speaker 6 (05:34):
Fit us up on Twitter. Get on with Mario and
hang on more Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
On the way, Mario Courtney Lopez got some celects. Turning
a year older. We're going to try to guess the ages.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
What do we got Sebastian Stan Captain America, the Winter Soldier,
Pam and Tommy Ages ages ages.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Sebastian's interesting to me earlier is forty two thirty four.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Forty two is correct? This is really well all right? Correct?
Speaker 5 (06:06):
And Mario should get this one from the Partridge family
and briefly from the other half, Danny Bonaducci, My boy.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Danny Bonaducci. I love that dude. He's wild. I'm gonna
say it's gotta be sixty two, sixty five, sixty five
is correct? Shut up, shut up, you got both of them,
Shut up right now.
Speaker 1 (06:26):

She's celebrating her very first live album and a brand
new single. It is Josh Stone. We're gonna get the
scoop straight from the Sourus. Next up, you're on Mario
Lopez joining me on Zoom Singer, songwriter and actress Joss Stone.
Welcome to the show. How are you?
Speaker 4 (07:32):
I'm very well. Thank you so much for having me.
Speaker 2 (07:34):
It's lovely to be likewise, thank you for taking the time.
Congratulations on the new single loving You Love the Groove? Here?
What was the inspiration behind the song?
Speaker 7 (07:45):
Oh gosh? Okay?
Speaker 8 (07:46):
So I just started dating my now husband Cody. We
were only a couple months in and basically I learned
very quickly that he is not a night out at
oh I am a big time night out.
Speaker 7 (08:01):
So the song goes on.
Speaker 8 (08:03):
It says things like, you know, I've lit a fire
for you, and I'm trying to think of ways to
keep you here because I love you and you just
basically what happened was Cody fell asleep, I went upstairs
and wrote the song.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
So it worked out.
Speaker 4 (08:17):
Yes, it did work out. It worked out perfectly.
Speaker 8 (08:20):
So I've sort of been sat on it for a bit,
so I thought, hey, let's let the world hear it nice.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Is it just a one off single or do you
have new music and the works.
Speaker 8 (08:29):
It's just the one off, and I'm working on more
for next year. I'm in a bit of a disco
vibe right now, which is not the vibe of this single.
Speaker 7 (08:36):
But we'll see. I'll see what happen.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I love me a disco vibe. I know you dropped
your first live album earlier this summer, twenty years of soul.
You took a minute to make a concert album?
Speaker 7 (08:48):
Huh, yes, I did.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
I took twenty years. I thought I was too nervous.
Speaker 7 (08:56):
It's live, I know, Oh my god, I couldn't.
Speaker 8 (08:59):
Possibly, but the fans had kept asking for it. It's
lovely nowadays because you can actually know what the fans
want because they'll literally tell you right. So that was
a wonderful thing. But then I was like, Okay, well
now I've got.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
To do it.
Speaker 8 (09:14):
So we just recorded the whole like everything that we
did that year, we recorded it all, and then I
just really the last couple of weeks with the bits
that we used, and we just picked songs from each
concept that we thought were great.
Speaker 7 (09:26):
And it's so lush.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
I'm so glad we did that.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
I really am. I really am.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Well, you can listen to twenty years of Soul and
iHeartRadio or wherever you get New Years. We got more
to talk about, we got to take a break hold on.
We got more with Josh Stone coming up.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Mario Lopez, you've got Joss Stone on zoom with us.
And I know you're currently on the road for the
US leg of your World tour. How's that gone?
Speaker 4 (09:50):
It's very good.
Speaker 8 (09:51):
Oh, we had a lovely gig last night, such lovely
beep out here. I have to say, the American audiences
are amongst the most fun because you guys have brilliant woofs.
Speaker 7 (10:06):
Yes, what is a rule off?
Speaker 8 (10:09):
I walk out and you guys are like, who oh,
I'm a it'sf that's.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Funny, that's funny. We're known for Yes, okay, I see that. Yeah,
if you can get, if you have a good woo off,
it's gonna it's gonna start things off right. The energy
is gonna be there, right. I gotta imagine you need
a good off, you need a good woo off. I agree.
I am partial to a good woof always. So hold on, Joss,
gotta play more music right now, Mario Lopez, you're with
(10:39):
Josh Stone, who is touring the US as we speak.
So do you do any surprise covers in the set list?
I'm always interested in hearing.
Speaker 8 (10:46):
Yes, I do, Okay. So the disco vibe sort of
turned up because of my daughter Violet. She's three now, okay,
but I realized when she was just turning one that
she loved to dance. So I've just decided I need
that to be part of my world.
Speaker 7 (11:02):
So she'll like what I do.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
So we've made a piece of the show all about that.
Speaker 7 (11:07):
So there are covers in there and everyone sings along.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Nice is I mean?
Speaker 7 (11:12):
We want the funk makes a little bit of a moment,
which is great. That's f It's just so much fun.
A bit of shaka oh, I love it.
Speaker 8 (11:20):
It is great.
Speaker 7 (11:21):
That's the best part of the show.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Well, tickets and tour days to Josh Stone's Ellipsis tour
or up at on my dot com. Right now, we
got to play some more music. John Mario Lopez hanging
out with Josh Stone and I can't believe this, but
it's been twenty years since your first single, fell in
Love with a Boy. What do you remember about that
song originally?
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Well, I remember originally it was fell in Love with
a Girl. The White Stripes and.
Speaker 8 (11:46):
So Questlove played on that and he was in the
music video. It was my first music video I ever did,
and I was very, very nervous. I was nervous for
like the first five years of my career. I think
Love saying to me, you know, never meet your heroes,
whoever it is that you love, don't meet them.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
I was like, what are you talking about. He was
like giving me all this advice, like really serious, serious advice, and.
Speaker 8 (12:12):
I was like, Oh, what's happening. He was like a
granddad in a way, and he's not that much older
than me, but he'd had so much more experience.
Speaker 7 (12:20):
But it was great.
Speaker 8 (12:22):
It was really good dealing with him and having him
to teach me, just for those moments. And then we
went to a White Striped concert just after it had
come out, and oh my goodness, they had basically slowed
down their version of.
Speaker 7 (12:40):
The track because they liked what we did with it.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
So I was like, this is such a condoiment.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
Yes, Like, oh my god, they like it.
Speaker 7 (12:49):
They were so kind and lovely. It was a very
It was a very good time because I was so young.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Everyone was just so sweet and with me. It was nice.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Oh that is nice. Well, I go one more thing
I want to ask you, but we've got to take
a break. I'm gonna wrap it up with Joss Stone.
Speaker 6 (13:04):
In just a moment when you're the full interview now
on with Mario Doug More Mario Lopez on the Way.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Mario Lopez here ramed things up with today's guest Joss Stone.
And you mentioned one of your children. You have two, correct,
what are their ages?
Speaker 4 (13:18):
So Violet is three and a half and Shack is
a year and nine months.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Shack's okay, So you babies right there? Do you bring
them on the road with you or I did.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
And the last trip in Europe that we just did,
I did not bring them the first time, and it
was I didn't really like that.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
Yeah, I know, it's je.
Speaker 8 (13:42):
For the first week, I had like these tears behind
my eyes, like they were always there. And then after
a week I was talking to them on FaceTime and stuff,
I realized that they did not care.
Speaker 7 (13:55):
They were fine. They were like laughing and they weren't like.
Speaker 8 (14:00):
They were fine. So I like a weight was lifted
and I said, Okay, it's okay. I just make my
toys really short. Now it's two weeks only and it's fine,
And actually it's better that they're not here because I
can sleep right.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, no, exactly, it is exact. Well, you seem to
have a great balance with the family and everything. That's awesome.
Congratulations and I appreciate you taking the time today, Joson listen.
Tickets and tour dates to the Ellipses tour are on
or available. I should say it on with Mario dot com, Josh,
thanks so much forrying out.
Speaker 7 (14:32):
Oh, thank you so much. It's lovely chatting with you.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Yes, likewise, Mario Courtney Lopez. Here was some quick buzz
for you. Pixar gifting us with another Toy Story movie,
Toy Story five currently in the works. I love this franchise.
This time, would he buzz in the gang or taking
on their toughest opponent yet electronics?
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Oh my gosh, the end of toys.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Oh.
Speaker 3 (14:54):
Even though Toy Story three had the perfect sendoff, Part
four made more than a bill million dollars at the
box office. Part five is scheduled to come out in
June of twenty twenty six. I can't wait.
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Jamarol, Courtney Lopez, and Kid Harrington agrees with Game of
Thrones fans on.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
With Mario Hollywood was so when Game.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Of Thrones ended back in twenty nineteen, fans didn't really
love the final season. Me being a big Game of
Thrones fan, I felt like it was rushed. They just didn't.
It just wasn't satisfying because the series itself was so epical.
Speaker 5 (15:31):
Well now I get dragged out or it just it just.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
It was like rushed.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Were like Dragon, if you will.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Trying to make it.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Both of you guys are whacked now.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
One of the stories, it was actually pretty good.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
What actually happened Kid Harrington, the King of the nor
it says the cast was so tired after eight seasons
they couldn't have gone on any longer. He agrees that
the last season was rushed in short thank you, and
he doesn't even like watching his own performance. There was
talk of making a spin off about his character John Snow,
but not thing got him very excited. Well, you know,
it had it ended on a high note. Dare I
(16:08):
say it could have been one of the best shows
ever and it ended on a low note. It and
a disappointing note because the season's lead were so good
and it was just like, oh God.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Why didn't watch it?
Speaker 3 (16:20):
That's why I didn't watch one, because I knew that
the season finale would be terrible.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
It wasn't just finale, was the whole season. Now the
prequel House of Dragon, they're only going one more season,
which I think a total of three seasons perfect because
I think it'll end just in time to where it'll
leave you want more and it won't be too much
and you're happy right now. We're very happy with how
it is, very happy.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Mario Courtney Lopez. He was a quick buzz for you,
Christian Slater, and it's why Brittany have welcomed their second child.
It's a boy, but they're doing this weird Hollywood tradition
keeping his name under wraps. What's the deal with that.
Speaker 3 (16:57):
I just don't know why they won't say that it's
a Yeah, it's ac I heard it was ac Ah.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
That's good. I didn't even get it from Oh my god.
By the way, they have our four year old daughter
already and Slater as to adult children from a previous relationship.
So congratulations maryle Courtney Lopez. Here chick flicks can still
bring in the big box of the box office. It
ends with us made fifty million dollars in North America
this weekend. Wow, good for her.
Speaker 3 (17:22):
Yeah, and another thirty million around the world.
Speaker 7 (17:25):
We'll have.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
The audience was people who say they don't really go
to movies much. The movie was based on a popular
book that sparked a big trend among women. On TikTok,
we had the director and when the stars justin Bell
doing a very nice guy on here. So that's a nice,
pleasant surprise. And it's not a romantic comedy. It's supposed
to be just straight romantic. He said it will change
lives and kind of Hey, yeah, that was a bold stiment.
(17:47):
He said it twice.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Yes, all right, well I need to see it. Well. Meanwhile,
Borderlands with capelyn Chett and Kevin Harden made less than
nine million. I mean, that doesn't sound too shabby to me,
but nine million, Hey, that's disappointing for lions Gate, especially
because as the film's budget was more than one hundred
and fifteen million dollars. Listen, one hundred and fifty million
dollars to make a movie. To me, that right there,
(18:08):
that sounds insane.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
It is insane, but that's what these movies are costing
these days.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
Well, Blake and Ryan are the IT couple right now,
so I'm not surprised.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Joe Marl Courtney Lopez. Time now for one last thing.
Huey Lewis my man is tapping into his inner Larry
David Fox has ordered a mockumentary sitcom called Whatever Happened
to Huey Lewis. Oh, we're gonna watch this, honey, Okay,
Going on the sink?
Speaker 3 (18:33):
Yes, Going on the sink. Well, Huey plays a fictional
version of himself who was trying to figure out what
to do with his life after suffering from hearing loss.
He was real life phishing buddy. Jimmy Kimmel is one
of the executive producers.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Wait, they're fishing buddies. It's so rad, So I know
we can hear. Does he still sing? I'm not trying
to be you know, because if you can't, really, I
gotta imagine. That's gotta be tough. I don't think he performed.
I don't think aymore right, I don't think he performs anymore.
It probably doesn't sing because it does affect your voice.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
It affects your tone.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Yeah yeah, Oh, he's an eighties icon.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Hence tone deaf.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
Right.
Speaker 8 (19:09):
Yeah more.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Mario Lopez on.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
The way, type rosa pass and mic. But we are
back tomorrow with all the latest Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
Buzz, plus a new case in Courtney's court. Until then,
this is Mario and Courtney Lopez saying good night
Speaker 1 (19:25):
With Mario Lopez
