Speaker 1 (00:00):
Mario Fun with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Back to work, Mario Lopez here, back behind the mic.
We're ready to kick off another week of Radio Fun.
Hopefully you can hang out because we're gonna be talking
about Copra Kai with actor Martin Cove when he zooms
in a little bit, plus a pop culture pop quiz,
a bit of buzz and more so turn it up.
You're on with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
No mar Courtney Lopez. That's been on our thing at Cats.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
This kind of Corny's a random question, would you got honey?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
All right?
Speaker 4 (00:27):
This is inspired by the show ted with the talking
Teddy bag. I don't know why I said that like that,
but if you could have any inanimate object come to life,
what would you pick.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
When I was a little kid, I used to talk
to my Teddy Bears all the time. I wouldn't I
would have loved ted as a little kid, because that
was basically me. If I could have any object come
to life, hmm, that's a good one right now or
at any point in my life, at any point, then
I would have had my little WWF wrestlers come to life.
(00:57):
And now it had to have been talking to them
and rest with them. That would have been the best.
So they actually do talk now, wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Yeah, you press a button and they talk.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
I would have chosen out.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
Tell us what you would choose at On with Mario
on Twitter. More Mario Lopez coming up?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
What Up Mario Lopez here, keeping the music and fun
coming your way as we make a quick digital pit
stop at on Mario dot com to see what's trending.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
Yeah, well, the Los Angeles wildfire is still probably the
biggest story right now. A lot of celebrities affected. Everyday,
people affected. We've been affected. But you can find out
how to help out those in need right now at
on with Mario dot com. Check out the celebrities who
themselves have been affected and those who are stepping up
to help out. Beyonce donating two point five million to
the Los Angeles fire relief fund, Hallie Barry donating an
(01:42):
entire closet to those in need. And you can see
why Spencer Pratt says he's going to take legal action.
On Mario dot com to read up on that and more.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
What Up, Mario Courtney Lopez here. This was a shocking
announcement for Star Wars fans. The role of Princess Leah
was originally offered to Jodie Foster. I did not know.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
How did we now?
Speaker 2 (02:01):
How do we go all these decades with just finding
this piece of information out?
Speaker 1 (02:05):
Now?
Speaker 2 (02:05):
Oh, Joey Foster, Tody Foster's about that. That's about perfect case.
The first Star Wars was nineteen seventy seven. Okay, she
had a taxi driver, which is thirteen in nineteen seventy two,
I believe. So, yeah, show your work through the math
there were it would have been around twenty twenty one.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
I love hearing stories like this. She says she turned
it down because she was under contract with Disney at
the time.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Wow, and how ironic that Disney now owns Star Wars.
Jo Mark Courtney Lopez, we're talking last week about the
longest time between sequels.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Top Gun is what.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
We came up with, and we were racking our brains,
couldn't figure it out. But they actually have an official
list now, right, What do we got?
Speaker 4 (02:42):
Number five is Indiana Jones three and four. They are
nineteen years apart.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Wow, that's incredible. Yes, Harrison Ford still doing his thing.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
Rambo comes in at number four. Rambo three and four,
they are twenty years apart.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Love that one of my favorite franchises, and you know what,
they're good. I saw both of them.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Number three is Coming to America and Coming to America,
which is thirty three years.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
That's right. That one was really a big gap, and
we forgot if I forgot about that one too well.
That one wasn't met with as much of a warm
reception to Stop Gunning.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
It wasn't as big of a hit at all.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Now number two is Top Gun one and two they
are thirty six years apart.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
So that's really the winner because number one is an
animated film in Bambi one and two had sixty four
years between them. I didn't even know they made a
Bambi two. I don't know if that counts. Yeah, animated
and animated, you can't because with the actors. So we
were right about Top Gun, but man coming to America
(03:43):
thirty three years.
Speaker 6 (03:44):
Tell Mario what do you think? On Twitter at On
with Mario More Mario Lopez on the.

Next tapy Al.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Mario Lopez joining me right now on Zoom. One of
the stars a Cobra Kat actor Martin Cove.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
How you been Martin I'm good. I'm good, really good.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Very nice to see you. I just was telling you
off air. My eleven year old son has binged all
seasons of Cobra Kai. He's now rewatching them. He is
such a huge fan. He's obviously got good taste. And
Part two of the sixth and final season of Cobra
Kai is airing now on Netflix. What is the legendary
(05:45):
John Crease up too in the final season?
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Well, in the final season, I mean there's so many surprises.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
You know.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
We shot fifteen shows. We aired the first five and
then the second five, and then the last five airs
in February, and there's so many surprises. I don't want
to spoil it for anybody.
Speaker 7 (06:04):
But those who need to get their come up and
get them. Oh, those who need generosity get it, those
who need love get it.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
So it's really well.
Speaker 8 (06:19):
Written, and it's a lot of resolutions and a lot
of surprises, and I think.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
Everybody will really enjoy it, you know, So we'll go
out with a big bang.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Nice.
Speaker 9 (06:30):
Well, we would never cancel, it's just that this is
what the writers wanted.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
Sure, you want six seasons, nice.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Everybody to be wrapped up. And it was a good choice.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I like that we'll see redemption from most of these
characters right there. Well, Martin hayink Ti, we're going to
take a quick break and come back with more Martin Cove.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
More, Mario Lopez on the way.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Mario Lopez here getting back to Cobra Kai's Martin Cove
and with Cobra Kai.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Getting ready to wrap up.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
It's got to be pretty awesome because it's special to
say goodbye to a character that you've been involved with
for forty years now.
Speaker 8 (07:00):
Yeah, you know, this character has had his trials and
tribulations on my personal life, you know. I mean, you
don't go through a relationship break up twelve times in
six years without blaming John Creese, you know.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
So you know, it was quite interesting and.
Speaker 8 (07:21):
I really, uh, I really enjoy the character because now
the character has vulnerability.
Speaker 9 (07:28):
Now he has an arc, you know, now he has
you know, they're writing emotions for him that he didn't
have in the movies, and I wanted that.
Speaker 3 (07:38):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
When Martin, hang on a little more music and we're
coming back with Cobra Kays, Martin Cole.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
All right, more with Cobra kais Martin Cove coming up?
Mario Lopez here.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
In the meantime, I'd love to play a song for you,
So if you got a request, please slide into my
DMS on ig at On with Mario Lopez.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
We're wrapping up with actor Martin Cove. You're on, Mario Lopez.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
I remember having a conversation with you and you were
saying that you would hope to make a Western film soon,
right You still I want to play a cowboy?
Speaker 8 (08:09):
Yeah, you know, I've been playing cowboys since I was
since I was old.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
My mother used to tell me the story that I
watched TV when I was like seven or eight.
Speaker 8 (08:17):
Those horse operas were pretty much one horse was galloping
after another and that's what was going on the screen,
and she used she used to tell me that I
used to go around the back of the TV to
see what happened to the horse.
Speaker 3 (08:31):
On the right side of the frame. You know, yes,
you know. But the bottom line is we're.
Speaker 8 (08:37):
In development on a with my friend Jeff Frost and
people who created Mudbound.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
And Peanut Butter Falcon.
Speaker 8 (08:46):
We're doing a story about a old gunfighter who bonds
with a twelve year old kid.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
Because I really feel that kids nowadays don't have any heroes.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I just think they need heroes.
Speaker 8 (08:58):
Back we knew and I were watching back in the
sixties there were thirty five westerns on primetime.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I love westerns too.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
I'm a huge Western fan, you know.
Speaker 9 (09:09):
And now kids don't have that, they don't have Eastwood,
they don't have John Wayne, right, So I want kids
to have heroes and these This story is about the
marl Fiber which is exchanged between the twelve year old
and an old gunfighter killer monster, and I play him,
and I think, you know kids who I think kids
(09:31):
will will gravitate to the twelve year old as adults
will gravitate to my character who's learning how to be
a human being.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
You know. That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Well, good luck with that project. And meanwhile, we're going
to be sure to catch Martin Cove as they wrap
up Cobra Kai on Netflix, which is of course streaming now.
Mart thank you so much for checking in, my friend.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
So always good to hang with you. Man.
Speaker 6 (09:53):
You're the full interview now at On with Mario donc
more Mario Lopez on the way, what.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
A Mario Lopez here? And here's something I just learned
about Star Wars in the early days of production for
Phantom Menace, producers were considering casting Tupac Shakur. That's a
fun fact. Apparently he even read for the role with
George Lucas before his murder. The role eventually went to
Samuel L.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Jackson.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Oh man, if you would have cast Tupac as Mace
wind do ballot of in legendary ah.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
Wish that would happen?
Speaker 2 (10:27):
What up, Mario Lopez here, keeping the music and fun
coming your way as we make a quick digital pit
stop at onmrio dot com to see what's trending.

from the FBI.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Almight dot com for all that more girl Mark, Courtney Lopez.
Let's get to your comments.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
What do you got?
Speaker 4 (11:09):
This is from at Chris from Jersey. Mario Lopez needs
to put his steak back on the grill for like
another three hours. That thing is still alive.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Oh, Chris from Jersey.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
I agree with you, Chris.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
He is referring to a meme that I posted that
I had a picture of a steak and my caption was,
this is the picture of a perfectly cooked steak. It
was pink in the middle, medium rare, and that's how
one should eat a steak. Otherwise you're just having beef jerky. You, honey,
(11:44):
like to have it burnt to a crisp I just
like that. That's true. You used to have it like that.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
You don't even mean it at all.
Speaker 5 (11:51):
It's worse now that you don't even have it.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (11:54):
You don't get sick when it's not cooked thoroughly.
Speaker 2 (11:56):
That's so what you're supposed to. Buddy, I work with
on the show Scott Evans. He likes his state burnt
to the and he was telling me, He's like, mar
you need to go put that back on the grill,
and I go, pro why do you even need to say,
you can't even don't even go to a steakhouse, just
go to McDonald's and order a murder right there. That's embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (12:13):
More Mario Lopez coming up.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Several more.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Courtney Lopez and I want to revisit something we discussed
the other day. Somebody wrote in asking my wife's advice
about her dad wanting to be called grand dude as
he is about to be a grandfather, and she had
a problem with it, to which I said, I think
you should be able to get called whatever you want
as long as it's appropriate. That's a great name, and
(12:39):
that's what he wants, so yeah, exactly. She found it
to be disrespectful, which, of course, bag is the question,
what do we want to be called? I think I'm
gonna go old school data, which in Spanish is like grandpa,
but like a cool slang way.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
It's also fine a tribute to your dad, and who
goes to.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
My dad and my dad's dad and his dad. But
that that, for some reason sounds cooler to me than nana,
which nana just sounds old. You just don't want to
be nana.
Speaker 4 (13:07):
No no, well Italian, it's no, no.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
No, no already, So you're already no no grandmother.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
And Italian it's no no, and you're already know, and
I'm already on.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
No.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
No, that's great.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
No, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
I don't know. If I'm like, your mom doesn't like Granny,
she likes Grammy.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
Yeah, Granny's awful. It sounds like this old lady that's
gonna kill you.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
I mean, Grammy's better. I don't mean.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
Grammy does sound like she might be nicer than Granny. Yeah,
but I did have a granny. My dad's mom was
a granny.
Speaker 7 (13:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
No, I'm I think I'm gonna go to the Italian route.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
No no, no, no, no, Okay, there it.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Is figured out.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
On with Tatan No no.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
More fun on the way on with Mario Lipez and.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Our time together is over, but we're back tomorrow with
more music, fun and Hollywood US. Until then, Mario Courtney
Lopez and good Night, good
Speaker 1 (14:03):
