Scissors, So they have little teeth on the inside of
the handles, and most people have no idea what those
are for. Well, they have a bunch of uses. You
can use them as a nutcracker for big nuts like walnuts,
or you can use them as a grip to open
a tight bottle. Just don't stab yourself with the scissors
(04:07):
when you're turning it. Or you can use them to
grip a cork and remove it from a wine bottle.
Speaker 3 (04:12):
All good hacks. All good hacks.
Speaker 5 (04:14):
Again, don't stab yourself.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
But those because that's a bit the walnuts, obviously we
want to crack it. That helps a lot, but sometimes
those bottles are hard. But the cork in the wine
bottles of pain in the butt because you end up
using your teeth. You know everyone ends up using your teeth,
but if you have those little scissors, that's handy.

a seven up Otter pop. It was so tasty delicious,
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Mario Lopez here hanging out with the directors of am Ioka,
Tig Nataro and Stephanie Allen. Now, I know you've each
directed separately in the past. What inspired you to collaborate
behind the camera on this project and was the process
what you thought it would be.
Speaker 10 (11:08):
Well, I mean, we've done so much together between acting
and writing, producing all sorts of things, and when this
project came along, I think it really spoke to us
just I think specifically Stephanie connected with the story, and
I would say there wasn't a huge surprise in working together,
(11:31):
just because we've worked so much on different things, and
I guess I'm surprised that we continue to working together
not have an issue.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Yeah, yeah, well.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
That's the thing A lot of people say, working with
your significant other isn't always easy. Ironically, you just saw
me with my wife right here, because she works with
me on this radio show, and we seem to have
a pretty good balance that hasn't thrown a monkey wrench
or anything.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Yet. How do you create a balance between working on
I think it's all really fluid for us.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
We met working on a film Lake Bells in a World,
and we've since worked together pretty regularly, and I feel
like it kind of all blends into each other nice.
Speaker 3 (12:16):
All right.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Well, you can stream am I Okay on Max. Hold on,
ladies can play some more music. Mario Lopez, you're talking
about the movie am I Okay with directors Tigna Taro
and Stephanie Allen. Dakota Johnson getting a lot of praise.
What did she bring to the character of Lucy.
Speaker 10 (12:33):
Oh my god, she's so great in this film. I
feel like, I mean, I always say as cool as
Dakota is, she surprisingly has a bit of an awkward
way about her at times, and I feel like this
character really calls for that or called for that, and Dakota,
(12:59):
I just she nailed it that the It's such a
beautiful performance and mixed in with some awkwardness.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Nice. Sounds like we'll get to see her in a
different light there.
Speaker 8 (13:11):
Yeah, really funny in it.
Speaker 10 (13:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
Well, am I Okay is streaming now on Max. So

and Stephanie Allen.

They directed the Code Johnson movie Am I Okay.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
So after this experience, would you consider directing together again
or was it a one off?
Speaker 10 (13:32):
Well, it's a one off because I've found that I'm
actually not interested in directing anymore. Yeah, I retired.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
I got to check it off the booget list.
Speaker 10 (13:44):
There you go, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it was
a true joy to watch Stephanie. And you know, she
has so many projects that she has written and is
teed up for her to direct, and I'm just I'm
excited to watch her do it because truly being on
set with her, I was like, Okay, she's a director.
(14:04):
She is a full blown director, and it's very fun.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
I get it. Hey, that's the ballance that I was
talking about right there. And I know you have two sons,
right what are the ages and what are they getting
to do?
Speaker 10 (14:18):
They're eight, they're fraternal twins, and we're neck deep in
their travel baseball tournaments.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Oh yeah, that takes a toll. It's a very different world,
it is.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
That's a tedious role right there, much like being on
a film set. A lot of waiting, a lot of
waiting right there. Well, congratulations on everything. Am I Okay
is streaming now on Max Tig.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
Stephanie thinks so much trying out.
Speaker 7 (14:48):

Be considered among guys like Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Myers,
and Stephen Colbert. And he says he's not put on
the same level because he's not a comic, even though
he's had guests like Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep.
Speaker 6 (16:20):
Not a comic, but this request is hilarious.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
Yeah, exactly. That was very good.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
I feel like it's more of a recap shows of
all the Housewives stuff.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
It is, and because it's been around so long, there
is a huge Bravo following, which is why people like
Jennifer Lawrence and Meryl Streep.

Want to come on there.
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Fans of the show.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
Are fans of the shows on Bravo.
Speaker 4 (16:43):

so it's a different caliber compared.
Speaker 5 (16:55):
To Jimmy Fallon.
