Speaker 1 (00:00):
Shout out to my friends at the Canine Companion Rescue
Center and Michigan Animal Adoption Center. The Noball's Comedy Ball
last night was fantastic yesterday afternoon comedians Dave Dyer and
Dan Britton, Marie over there in Haley and Joe and
of course Angel, we work with that event for those

(00:22):
sweet animals raised. I think almost fifty thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
That's amazing.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
It was really great.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It was two stand up comedy acts were fantastic, and
there was a stileent auction live auction.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
It was great well, and I believe this is the
I think I heard them say this is the first
time they've ever done this.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Oh yeah, that was the first time event. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
So, like fifty thousand dollars is huge to pay for
palettes of food for these animals and the hey that
they need to keep them warm. I mean, what they
do there is just incredible.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
And just a quick shout out to Marie and Angel
because in addition to what Marie does with the rescues
that you mentioned, her and Angel are out every weekend
doing personal outreachah and they go around to houses where
I mean they are bringing food and water and it's

(01:14):
just amazing. Like I they their personal time, they invest
to animals in need.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Every time I posted about that on social media, especially
on Instagram, I would get a message from somebody saying
that's where I got my dog. Oh I got my
dog there. I was like, lat people, I don't know,
which is really nice. So, I mean, the impact they
have is fantastic. At one point, we made a joke
up on stage because you know, Chelsea said, hey, Alison,
Allison was in like a little accident and she said,

(01:40):
look at this pictures there's sirens behind her.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
And I'm like, oh my god. Of course, of course
this happened today.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So I got up on stage and I did the
little acknowledgment of you know, thanks for Chelsea being here,
and Alison, well you have something to listen tomorrow on
the show, because yeah you do, and and and so
you take four parter.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
You did make it. Let's talk about it because you
didn't make it there.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Well, I was fifteen minutes away when this happened. I
mean I literally was just a little bit down six
ninety six. So I was like, you know, I set.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Out to come there. Yeah, you're on your right.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Sure, of course I was going to come there. And
if you if you travel to seventy five north to
six ninety six, you're aware that there's this construction zone,
this thing going on for a while. And the interesting
thing was I had already been texting Chelsea like.

Speaker 4 (02:25):
Twenty minutes earlier, saying, oh my gosh, you wouldn't you know,
like there's so much construction right now. I'm going to
be about fifteen minutes late.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Yeah, because my GPS had jumped back up in time
and turned red, and it was like, you're gonna So
I'm we're at a snail's pace going from two seventy
five onto six ninety six, just that ramp.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
We're at a snails.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Pace where bumper to bumper, we're not really driving, we're
just creeping. So what had happened is it looked like
we were almost to the bottom of the ramp and
it was it was time to move again and then
stop again. So I hit the gas to move, and
then I hit the brake to stop, and then it
wasn't the brake. I hit the gas to move, and

(03:07):
then I hit the gas again, thinking it was the brake,
and I applied a little more pressure the second time.
When I thought it was the brake, and I literally
my car lunged because we're only going to drive for
a split second.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
And then you're going to stop again.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
I'm in the flex thank god, because when I did
call Warren while I was sitting there, we talked about
me taking his car because it's not quite a gas guzzler.
The first question he did ask was are you in
my car? And then he said are you okay? Oh
that's nice, So that was good, but I don't blame him.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
His car is the better one. Oh how hard do
you think into the car in front of your so hard? Really?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Oh really?

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yesterday you kind of made it sound like it was
more like a tap.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
What I meant by that was you would think by
how hard I hit it, you would have seen like
like the front of my car in the back of
their seat. But that was not the case, like there
was there's a dent, but so it would I mean
I was. I was literally so shaken up. We all
get out of the car. It's four very nice people.

(04:12):
The driver gets out first and very nice.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Are you okay?

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Are you okay?

Speaker 3 (04:17):
And I just I just.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Kept saying I'm just so sorry, and I flat out
I said what I did? I mean, I said, I don't.
I didn't hit the brake, I hit the gas. I said,
I don't know why. I I think I just had
foot fatigue from the stop and go and stop and go.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Did you say you were local radio favorite Alison Martineck
and things like this never happened to you?

Speaker 2 (04:35):
No, because if I tell you who I am, you'll
know that it happens to me all the time. You'll
automatically know that, you'll know the flex, you'll know everything.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
They spotted the Flex behind them and was like, oh
my gosh, that's gotta be Allison.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
I did tell them though, yeah, get away from her quickly.
But I did tell them because and and when I did,
it was just because I wanted. I was like, I
just want, I want to tell you who I am,
so you know I'm not, like, you know, a hardened
criminal out hitting and running and and it was funny
because and then the I'm I'm assuming the wife of

(05:08):
the driver. Then she gets out and she is a
little she's a little upset at first. And I don't
blame her, I really don't.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I would be to I was. I felt the.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Same way when a car hauler cut me in half,
I was like, are you out of your mind? So
but then, you know, she was fine and there was
another couple with them, and everybody was fine, and but
I did you know, we talked about it and she
she listens, oh, one hundred percent knew who I was,
she knew where case. She's like, did you work at
that other station? I said I did, So we did
the right thing.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
You know.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
The driver of that car said, we really do have
to call the trooper. I wish I had his name
with me right now because he was super nice and
he said I'm not gonna give you a ticket today
said nice, you're at fault. I'm not going to give
you a ticket. And I am at fault, like I
never denied it.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
I mean, of course I'm at fault.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
There wasn't a lot of visible damage. There wasn't anybody
in the car was injured because they got out.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
And she would be okay, they know she at first,
you know, at first, uh the wife had she had
said something like, I have a little bit of a headache now,
and I said, I just bought new tailan al for the.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Car, would you like? And she's like, no, I'm okay,
and but I'll.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Let anything from you, anything I can do to help.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I just remed home, but they I think I think
my arm might be broken. Well me get that for it.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Can I do for you?

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Well, the fact that you still made it to the
event is pretty huge.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Yeah, that's pretty because I already said, I said, she
tell her she doesn't to come here, she's crazy, she's
been an accident.

Speaker 3 (06:34):
She doesn't have come here.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
When it took that long.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
I did text Chelsea one more time when it was
because the bulk of why I was gone. The police
officer got there really quickly because ironically, both me and
the car that I hit passed him on to seventy
five helping another UH car that hit a car so
and he even referenced it. He goes, you guys probably
just passed me, and I said, yep, on too seventy five.
So he got there quickly. The bulk of what took

(06:57):
so long was him writing up the report. But I
did text Chelsea. I said, I don't want to walk
in now in the middle of this show. I'm like,
I don't know if I should still come, but you know,
she said, it's fine.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Comedy they was dark in there and you walked in there. Fine.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
We had our big event, the No Ball's Comedy Ball yesterday,
which was great with Canine Companion Rescue. Were telling you
about that. Allison got there late, was in that fender bender.
She's okay, the people are okay. No tickets were issued.
Insurance companies were called all as well.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Yeah, shout out to my insurance agent Reagan at State Farm,
who will have a full inbox this morning.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Oh my god, your seat Farm agent must really.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I keep her busy, by the way, whose rates are
going to go up? Who has two thumbs and insurance
rates about this girl? So I made it home last night,
and I made it there and I made it home,
and it seemed on spot when we were talking about
our cars, you know, I see your car and what
had happened? And they say, how's your car? And I said,

(08:07):
this car is a tank, I said, and I told
him the car Haller story. I said, when Warren picked
up the whole back end, drilled it in and it lived.
I'm like, I don't know that this car can die.
And I never should have said that. So I drive
home and everything's fine. I don't see anything. I don't
smell anything. No lights come on the dashboard except for
the four that are always there all the time anyway,

(08:28):
because it's such a piece of junk car. And you know,
my sister drives my car and she door dashes in
the evening. So and thank god last night she went
out because I probably.

Speaker 3 (08:42):
Wouldn't be here this morning.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
So I wait, I usually wake up around one in
the morning and I go get something to drink, I
go to the bathroom. I just you know, and I
usually pick up my phone.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
It's just a weird thing I do.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
And my phone had blown up, text messages, phone calls.

Speaker 3 (08:58):
Mark Urgent, all from Jill. Oh, your sister.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
So when Jill had gone out to start door dashing,
she stopped. She started by stopping at the gas station
to get gas for the evening and that's when.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
The Flex just died.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Uh. The car kept stalling, kept stalling. She finally got
it back into our parking spot. The consensus right now
with not knowing anything is because of the smell and
one of the lights that came on is that all
the anti freeze fell out, and maybe they're a radiator issue.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
I just called Tanya Lalan now and finally get you.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
To get you into a new Tanya.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
Please call Alison today.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
What did she actually sing to you on the phone.
You shouldn't be driving a Kia. We may be talking soon.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
I don't know. I won't know till later. And also
my hood was dented and I didn't notice that yesterday.
I was very concerned about their car, didn't really look
at mine. So Jill didn't even want to open the
hood because it was dented. She's like, I don't know
if we'll shut back again, and I'm like, God, this
car is so much fun for me. So anyway, Warren, thankfully,
his hours are close to mine, but not the same.

(10:09):
Warren is at work when my alarm goes off, So
his alarm goes off at three. Mine goes off at
three point fifty. His alarm gets off, goes off at three.
I follow him into the kitchen. He's like, what are
you doing? And I was like, well, here's what's going
on now. And that was fun too. I was like,
so I'm gonna be driving you to work this week, God,

(10:31):
and then I'll.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Pick you up.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
And how about that front door drop off service you're
gonna get? And he's like, I kind of hate you
right now.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
I was, I was just gonna ask you about the VFW.
But I forget that.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
A light hearted story would have been fun that.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
In Yeah, all right, well listen, things can only go
up from here, things can only get better.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
I made it.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
Home from Royal Oak.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
We had a great time. Puppies fifty thousand dollars. It
was other than that little miss. Other than that, it
was really a success on a Sunday,
