(00:00):
You know, it has been ait's been a tough couple of days for
Allison, although you would never knowit. I got to tell you before
you say anything I am. Ithink I'm more blown away by your strength
and your ability to, I guess, compartmentalize things and get get the job
done when really you shouldn't be gettingany job done. Absolutely in the last
(00:22):
couple of days. I mean,I just That's all I've told people is
that I don't know if I've evermet anyone like you that can do what
you gotta do and get there becauseI could not, is what I'm saying.
Yeah, I was telling people aboutWednesday in particular of last week when
we were shooting the Imagined trailer, and it was kind of you know,
(00:44):
telling a couple of people about whatyou were going through that day, and
was like, I have no ideahow she even showed up for that and
kept it together and powered through,Yeah, and then powered through for the
rest of the week. We hada really really long week last week on
top of everything else that you weregoing through. Well, my mom,
(01:04):
in her regular way of excellent timing, picked Wednesday. My mom actually passed
away Wednesday morning, and she Wednesdaywas the day that everything was about to
get crazy for us, and soit was very unexpected, we thought,
(01:34):
and maybe shouldn't have. But there'sa lot of stuff about my mom.
About a month before that had towe had taken her to the hospital via
ambulance. She had fallen down andwe couldn't get her up, and she
was in the hospital for she's aweek and a half maybe, And my
(01:56):
mom had a healthcare team that kindof you know, back before COVID,
she would go there. We calledit. Sometimes we called it her going
to school, or sometimes it washer going to work, but she my
mom had dementia, and she wouldgo to this facility and they were also
her healthcare teams, so they wereinvolved in her. They were involved in
(02:16):
making decisions for her. And Ithink we were after about a week and
a half or so, my momhad two major infections, a UTI and
a blood infection. She had asore, she there was a lot of
things going on with her, andI was under the impression that when she
was moved from the hospital to afacility, it was because we were over
(02:39):
the hump and now we were goingto focus on lesser things, which is
not wrong to feel that way. That's usually how it is. That.
Yeah, Jill was mostly the pointperson, and she would update me,
she would keep me updated, andI think she felt that way too,
But there was this other entity involvedwho was also because we didn't move her
(03:00):
out of the hospital. We didn't, but we we went with the program
because we just you assume, noone's getting moved out of a hospital unless
they are better, and and youknow, you just assume that that's how
they're going to heal at another facility, and it was called a rehab facility.
She's gonna and now we're just goingto get her back and you know,
(03:20):
and then after a stint here, she'll come home. And and from
the second she went into that facility, she declined mostly because I don't know
that anything was done for her.My mom wasn't eating or drinking. And
I think that my mom is likea lot of people and in a story
(03:42):
that's very you know, that's toldvery often. And if if my mom
had only had better insurance, orif she had had you know, if
she had access to better options, and you know, actually, once she
got dementia diagnosis, that kind ofstopped us from being able to you know,
(04:04):
anything she hadn't done prior to thatdiagnosis wasn't gonna wasn't gonna be done
now, right. But anyway, she was an amazing, wonderful person and
over the years I got to sharesome of her greatest hits with people,
and so she was known by people. And uh, you know, I
(04:28):
wrote a little something on Facebook lastnight about her, and she would have
appreciated because at the end I put, uh, you know, you always
put like in an little bit,you know, born and born on this
date and died on this date, and she was born eleven slash thirty slash
yeah, right, because I'm nothaving her haunt me. So as far
(04:48):
as you know, she was fiftyeight and we'll just leave it at that
glamorous life she was. She did. She had a glamorous life. She
was glamorous everything. Yeah, shewas, you know, married to Chicago.
I mean, yeah that. Wedon't know if Peter Satire is my
(05:09):
dad, We don't know now hopefor it. We hope he is.
But also and lastly, thank youfor all of the reaching out. Like
I said, I put something uplast night. We had a really crazy
week to get through. As youguys mentioned and I just wanted to I
didn't want to take everybody down withme, so we just you know,
(05:30):
powered through, and then last nightI could finally put it out there.
And people have been so overwhelmingly sweet. So both Jill and I appreciate that
we will remember your mom and andthe stories and the pictures, by the
way, on Allison's Facebook are reallyshe was just fun to, very glamorous
and and and a great time andand always the stories you would tell us,
(05:50):
even we have been all together aslong as you have been on the
radio in Detroit, and I knowthere have been stories before us, but
everything we've heard has always been fun. And she'll be she'll be happy to
know you're wearing a bra today.Yeah, it's that is supportive as it
could be. But you know, and every time I see you and you
don't have a stitch and makeup on, I'll think of your mom. She'd
(06:11):
appreciate that, all right, onehunderd point three w When I see
