Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Monday. I hope everybody is doing good. Allison
is out today. We hope she feels better. She was
she wasn't feeling great as you know, at Universal Orlando
last week and got home and I don't think she
felt great through the weekend. So we yeah, nothing.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
She wouldn't tell you, by the way. Yeah, I mean,
she's openly talked about it.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
It's just it's very hard to explain to a doctor
what is going on. She's just very run down and
it just seems to be getting worse.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
So she's going back to the doctor today's role. Yeah,
we'll check in with her. I hope everybody had a
good weekend. For those observing Easter, well, first of all,
the big story, obviously is that Pope Francis has passed
away at the age of eighty eight, just one day
after Easter. Died peacefully from pneumonia complications after thirty eight
days in the hospital, known for his compassion modern reforms.

(00:51):
I just I don't I don't think this was expected
because we had just kind of heard he was on
the road to recovery. Yeah, but it didn't look great yesterday.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Wow, I mean I think that, Yeah, it doesn't sound
like they were expecting he was knocking on Death's door
while he's you know, riding around town. Yeah, for Easter
services and stuff like that. But if you are a pope,
what a day to go?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Oh yeah, yeah, all right, day after after Yeah, the
holiest of holy right. But yeah, definitely a lot of
status around the world with that. Over Easter weekend. It's interesting.
There was a story in the news I read, and
it's so we go to Sam's Club like maybe once
a month, every other month and make it a big

(01:37):
family outing.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Take the parents. We all go, oh boy, we'll go
and hang out to our shopping, but we don't love
to see all this go down.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Oh it's it's a wreck. And we go and we
go early. We go like eight o'clock on Saturday morning.
Uh huh, try to beat the crowds. But it was
Easter weekend. But anyway, you know, you self scan it Sam's, Yes,
so you take your phone and you scan everything yourself.
I mean they have check out, but that way, when
you're all done, you just hit pay and then you
walk out.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Yeah, it's really nice.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
They usually do a spot check on you.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Well, over the weekend, I was getting a little like,
you know, I don't like standing there and have you
know my girl will hand things scan this, scan this,
scan this, like okay, just give me a let me
scan like ten things at once. Well I missed the
big box of vinegar, big box of vinegar. And so
we're going through and now they have this technology. They

(02:29):
don't this this this machine, this like technology just looks
at your cart and knows if you've forgotten to scan something.
And in two seconds they were running over.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
You forgot the vinegar. You forgot the vinegar. Oh, I
forgot the vinegar. So they called it out.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Was going to say, is it something that's like done
for fear reasons, like no, we're.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Going to scan your cart and see if you missed anything.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
But no, they had the exact item.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
But I was going to steal something. It'd be the
Apple gift cards. It certainly would not have been the vinegar.
But sam Club is phasing out traditional checkout lines and
all six hundred stores. Shoppers will now use the app
to scan as they shop, which I've been doing. AI
will verify purchases at the exit, no more showing receipts
at the door. That AI looked at my cart in

(03:15):
two seconds and knew something in that cart wasn't scanned.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
You know, that's brilliant And I do like that that's
an option because I've definitely done that when I've been
at Sam's before and I thought, oh cool, I don't
have to wait in this long line.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I can just leave now.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
But they have to think of the people like my
grandma or my dad. They are not going to be
scanning anything on their phone. They need to go to
a checkout.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
My dad scans, He's all right, he knows how to
do it. Well, that's wonderful for your dad. My dad's
not going to be able to do no.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
So yeah, that was Then we celebrated Easter on Saturday
by having delicious Texas Roadhouse.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
You don't even have a ham, no, no cheezy potatoes,
none of that.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
We had Texas Roadhouse.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
We had an earth that big onion and and we
had ribs and all and steak and shrimp and chicken.
It was a big feast of Texas Roadhouse. And then
yesterday I did Mike work at home and that was it.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I was Easter. What did you do for Easter? ChEls?

Speaker 3 (04:11):
So on Saturday we went to my grandma's house and
all the little great grandkids had a an Easter egg hunt.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Oh what you're doing at the White House today? Correct?
Very nice?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Yes, we uh, the White House stole our idea. Yeah,
so we did that, and then yesterday went to my
mom's for brunch with everyone, and then it was just
me and them for dinner.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
So what would you have for brunch? Aying delicious?

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Oh my gosh, you should have seen the amount of
food that we had for like ten people. We had kishes,
we had sausage balls, we had fruit, we had this
carrot cake yogurt.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
So everybody made something or you got it catered.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Everyone but me made something. I didn't realize that other
people needed to make things.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Chelsea told me that else he usually brings the ice.
What should Chelsea bring? Have her bring the ice like
a bagg of chips.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
I would have participated and brought something.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Just no one said anything.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Oh good, So it sounds a good, delicious and funny Easter.
So I'm my mooch's over at the Caval's house. Yeah,
all right, there you go. Hope you guys had a
good Easter too. Frank was all dressed up in his
bunny years. I put that up on Facebook yesterday. He's
the sweetest dog ever, loves to have his bunny years
