Are you sure you can talk?
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yes, I'm fine.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We're calling because we were reading over applications and we
were reading about Ella and Ethan. We just wanted you
to give us just a little kind of like the
synopsis of the of their life, of of what's happened here.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Both Ethan and Ellen were born at twenty seven weeks
creamy before Ethan we was born, we knew we were
going to have issues because she was not getting up oxygen.
When they were born at twenty seven weeks, Ethan weighd
one pound fourteen and Ella was one pound eleven. Ella
spent one hundred and fifty six days in the Nike
You and Ethan was a ninety six. They've both have
(01:07):
shunks in their brain due to having hydrocephalics, which is
a disease that does not allow fluid to drain down
the back of the cord right. So Ella has endured
twenty seven surgery splash revisions because their shut fails very
often and there's nothing really they can do about that.
It just happens. And Ethan's had thirteen surgery due to
(01:28):
his shut failing as well. Jeez, is something they will
live with forever. We could wake up tomorrow and they
both been surgery. It's just something we never know.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
And then they're twins and they're both then they're ten
years old.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yep, they've been doing a lot. And then with those diagnosis,
also with being a pre meie, other things come along,
such as autism and ADHD in the sale of Halsey,
they're all diseases that can stem off being a pre meat.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
What are some of the signs that you would know,
Like if they were to wake up tomorrow and you know, oh,
we need to go in for surgery today.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
The begetting to the age where they can tell me
they have headaches, so headaches are the main source of
what might be a malfunction, but also throwing up. They
could just be laying down and then sit up and
the pressure is so hard they throw up often when
you're laying down that if the shut is not working,
to see if that fluid could be pooling in their
(02:24):
brain and when they sit up it's supposed to drain. Well,
when it's a malfunction, that doesn't drain.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Emily their whole lives, like into adulthood, for the duration
this will be an issue.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Yep, it will always be an issue for them. It's
not something that's durable.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
So talk about what makes them happy. I mean, what
are the good times in the day.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
They are both extremely happy kids. It's the little things
that make them happy, like going to a pumpkin patch
or going nice carn rides that go see something new.
It's literally they are the happiest kids. Everyone at school
tells me their children are so happy, even the live
thing they have faced. They are very polite. They could
(03:05):
be as little as hey, let's go for a family
bike ride and that will brighten their day more than anything,
just being with family.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
When you hear about everything that's on their plate. It's
hard to imagine there is any time for fun, for
good times.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
But there is, there is. That's one thing that has
an idea is we make sure there are times for
good things.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Yeah, you're good parents, you really are. Would they be
happy when you went home or if you went home
and told them that we're taking you all to Disney
World this year for Jays Juniors.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah, they definitely wouldn't be that's the message you have
to give.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Well, why don't you do that then, Emily.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Will that be great? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:43):
They will be so excited.
Speaker 3 (03:45):

an airfare, hotel, park passes, spending money. I mean, everything
is taken care of.
