Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Mojo in the morning.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
So Megan this morning woke up to what what looked
like a police incident and somebody trying to rob a
car or steal a car, not a.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
A car, multiple cars. This morning, I woke up to
so many car alarms. It was like babe, babe, babe,
and then like thirty seconds later you would hear like
babait rape bye right rap, Like all of the cars
on my street were just getting broken into. It was
so just kind of like annoying to you.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Annoying Did you actually pay attention because most people don't
ever pay attention when they hear.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
A car alarm.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Well, no, I was like up and moving around, like
I was in the shower when I heard it, So
I like got out of the shower and then I
checked my ring camera. And the worst part for me
is now I know that somebody's out there breaking into cars,
and I have to go out to my car in
a minute. First of all, is it going to be
broken into? Or am I going to run into Because
either way, this is not a good start for my day.
So I had to call the cops. I was like,

(00:53):
I don't want to be out there with this guy.
Who's like breaking out into all these cars, And so
I called the cops, unfortunately, and I, God.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I hate doing that, but like what else was I
gonna do?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
And they were like, oh, we'll send it like a
cruiser out. We'll send somebody over there to check it out.
I hate when they call it that, by the way.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
I'm like, well, you're not on.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
The Dream Cruise, like go do go go investigate. I
don't know, like go on a mission.

Speaker 4 (01:16):
I would.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
I would be way better with the term mission then
send a cruiser out. So they were like, we'll send
somebody with like zero motivation to actually do anything.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
And I was like, I just want somebody out here
so I'm not alone.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Walking to my car, nobody came, but I was like whatever.
So I had to stop and get gas.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
And obviously red bulls this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
So I stopped at a gas station and there were
two cup cars and this is pretty close to my neighborhood.
And I walk over there and I was like, hey,
do you have an update on like what's going on whatever.
I did not realize they had the guy in handcuffs.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
They were actually doing his.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Okay, like doing his like handcuffs, trying to get him
into the car, and I was like, hey, guys, anybody
hear about all the car break They were like, oh,
could you not bother us? We're in the middle of
an investigation. And I was like, this has been a
weird start to my day. I was just trying to
be helpful. I know, the guy across from me like

(02:11):
has a He's like not a mechanic. Would he goes
into people's houses and work on their frontss h fact
man h facting, thank you? And I was like, his
truck gets broken into literally all of the time. I know, yeah,
I know that's what we were going in for. And
then they were just hitting up all of the other cars.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Are crazy that you actually it came full circle and
you saw him in the car.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
But also, why are you yelling at me?

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I didn't see it. I didn't know what was going on.
I'm just trying to find out what's happening. I feel
like I just got yelled at this morning. I didn't
have enough caffe into my system, and I was.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Over it, over it.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
I did a bunch of smashing grabs and went to
the gas station.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
You know, he wanted to stack. He was like, crap
makes me hungry. I was.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I was on Facebook this weekend and saw a person
I follow on Facebook who doesn't live that far from
from where I live, talking about how her car got stolen.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
It's happening in my neighborhood and they finally just caught
the guy. Is it someone that lives in my neighborhood?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
Well, no, it's in West Bloomfield, Okay Bluefield or it's
the Caldians call it West of Bloomfield.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (03:16):
We My neighborhood has had a major issue lately, and
there was one night last week where like a group
of people went through on a tear and not only
like broke into vehicles and stole stuff, but also four
vehicles were stolen, and they just caught the guy.

Speaker 5 (03:32):
I saw them post his mug shot.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
That's crazy. I mean, it's nutty when you get your
car stolen.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
They say that the thing that this guy was doing,
or this ring was doing was they had two cars
that would drive so one with a person in it
as lookout one then with the person that's going to
go and steal the car, and they would go look
at neighborhoods, look for cars that were easily able to
be stolen and then they would I steal the car go,

(04:02):
and then I guess they take it. This particular car
they found, I think, uh like in Southfield or in
the city limits of Detroit.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
They're not even taking it far, so they're well, they're taking.
What they're doing is they're taking it.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
And I think that what they're doing is they're trying
to see if there's any valuables in the car first,
so that's easy grab. And then I think that they're
maybe trying to sell parts or something.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I don't know. Yeah, time my car has been broken into,
it's been a lot.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Yeah, that's actually not bad though, you know what you
want that. I hate to say it because they'll get
in and they'll cause more damage.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
They smashed the window, they opened the door.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
In San Francisco, the whole thing that they were telling
people if you park your car on the streets there,
they said leave your windows down so that people couldn't
smash your windows.

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Derek, what's up? Hey?

Speaker 4 (04:50):
So one time I used to ADU in my bedroom
at the front and I hear somebody like messing with
the other door, and I like somebody breaking in, So
like I get my firearm and then like I go
get my mom. I call nine one one, and the
nine one one operators like, are you sure somebody's breaking in?
I'm like, what do you mean? Like, I'm sure, I'm sure.
And then my mom goes to open the door. I'm like,

(05:12):
what do you do? Is you like it's your dad?
He went like Friday shopping?

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Oh no, got his gun? Going Oh my god, wow,
that's yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I can't believe how many people leave valuable stuff in
their car, Like why would you leave your computer in
your car?

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Or like if you're partident, but like I don't get
the people who do it intentionally.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Well, there's a lot of times where people will, you know,
leave their car parked outside over First off, if you're
if you live like this person that I saw that
their car was stolen, they live in a house. I
think that has a garage. I'm like, why are you
not putting that thing in a garage?

Speaker 5 (05:47):
Lodges are filled with everything else we own.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
It's all those kids bicycles, it.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Is, it's bicycles and scooters.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
I don't know, like anybody who uses their garage, Well,
I keep mine in my garage.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
I actually Chelsea thinks it's funny that I actually pull
my car in the garage during the day and lock
or close that thing right away, just because a lot
of stuff is happening at night. There was another person
I saw on Facebook that was saying that at seven
o'clock at night there was robberies to a bunch of
homes that were in Shannon, not that far from your neighborhood.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Seven o'clock in night. I know.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Well, they're saying that what's going on is it's nicer
weather and a lot of times people will go on
family walks and people don't lock their doors when they leave.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
That's crazy, and then they just go right in.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Or you've heard this before where somebody will come to
the front door, you'll answer the front door, you get
your slider open in the back, they'll walk right through
the back. They'll sit there and try to pretend like, hey,
we're doing tree trimming service in your neighbor and the
person's ransacking your house, going through your bedroom and stealing
your valuables.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
We're not Canada. Lock your doors. I wouldn't do it
in Canada.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Everybody does it in Canada.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
They're crazy. I wouldn't do it in anywhere. Yeah, calv Is,
you know, is crazy. They want if they want it,
they're going to get it right, these criminals. I think,
I don't know, bro.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
I mean, I've had my car stolen before I've seen
really I've had my start my cart happy like we're
up for a new lease.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
It was never a.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
Happy time now and no, I think one of them.
I forgot to pay my car insurance too. Oh really yeah,
But shout out to Bill Brown, Bill Brown, for I
met his daughter one time. It was taking you actually
met Bill Brown. I met his daughter. Oh okay, his
daughter was His daughter was coming out and I wanted
to get an all change. It was taking too long,

(07:37):
so I got her number. She was like hook him
up with a car washing. I ain't had a bread
to get my car fixed at the time, but she
let him keep it for like an extending amount of time.
So that's a that's a good person to date the
daughter of a car dealer. I thought about sending her flowers,
but never did it.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
So the one that made me cry was when somebody
cut my soft top. I started taping on all of
the windows like doors are unlocked because it's like three
thousand dollars to replace.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Me, soft top. I got to tell you that.

Speaker 2 (08:04):
The thing that I'm hearing more and more too, is
that a lot of the cars that are coming back
the car, you know, insurances are not covering a lot
of the damage that is done. And so a lot
of times people are like, you know what, I just
don't even want it back. Just don't give it back
to me, because if you give it back to me,
then I got to get it fixed.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
It's not covering the whole thing.

Speaker 5 (08:25):
When my car is packed with stuff that I need
either need to return or donate or whatever, or the
kids just left mess, I'm always like, you can go
get it.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
I'd like to if there's excuse me, if you're listening
right now.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Car thieves, if you're.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Out there, can you steal the Channel ninety five to
five Detroit vehicles, the two thousand.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
And one Chevy Tahoe with eight.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Hundred thousand miles on it, and it's got dings all
over it from the tents and things that we used
to set up around the station here.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
Low key, I blame the the car, the automakers. Why
is it so easy to steal a car? Well, remember
the kias Kiya.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
It was key and Hyundai's we're having issues because they
said that it was like the easiest thing.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
They got harder, make it harder.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
It shouldn't be that easy to smash my window, break
the gear shift in.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
You're off. You ever you ever get okay?

Speaker 3 (09:17):
So I had the crappiest car get broken into, so
bad that it totaled the car by breaking the window.
Like it was so old that they had to ship
the glass from Japan that it costs more than the
value of the car.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
You ever get a car like that was broken into?
You be like what total? Why wouldn't you go to
a new car with nice things in it?

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Why?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
What made you think this nineteen ninety one Toyota Camry
was gonna be your gold mine?

Speaker 4 (09:44):
Like?

Speaker 3 (09:45):
What were you thinking?

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Do you think when one of the thieves steals a Kia,
he's singing the I'm gonna steal a ki from Yeah
you have to, Yeah, you gotta gotta get the song
going there, head
