Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're out on location for breaking entering Christmas wish. Hi
kp hi. This is one that I think you are
going to cry with. And the reason I say that
because the story alone is a tear jerker.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
It's a story about two young guys.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Both of them are right around twenty nineteen and twenty
years old. Michael Dean and Steven are two buddies. They
became friends because of the hardship that they had of
their parents. And do we have Donna there who is
gonna read this letter to them? Donna?

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Hello? Hi?

Speaker 2 (00:35):
How did you get to know these guys?

Speaker 3 (00:37):
I have had the pleasure of knowing them for their
whole life, since they were well, they've been friends since
they were about four or five. I know both of
their grandmas. Their grandma's worked together as retired teachers, so well,
they're retired teachers. Now that I've known both families for
a very very long time and we are very close,
So it feels good to help these guys out.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
It's great, and their circumstances are very similar. But their
circumstances could have led to them possibly going in that direction.
They had parents that had some struggles, but instead they
got together and they have overcome so many odds.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Oh, yes, they have.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
All right, we're gonna grant them a wish this morning.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Will you guys hang out there and then Lydia is
going to make a phone call here and we're going
to see.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
I don't know who do you think will pick up
the phone, And.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
I'm not sure what a boy will, but I gave
the netwersonal call, so one of them will just answer.
It might be Stephen.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I think I gave his Okay, So let's see what
happens here they live together, and let's grant a Christmas
Wish this morning here on the Mojo in the Morning Show.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
Hello Steven, Hello, is it Stephen or Michael?

Speaker 3 (01:55):
Both?

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Both Stephen and Michael.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Hi, guys, It's Mojo from Mojo.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Good morning guys. Hey guys. I hate to.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Call this early in the morning because I know you
guys are very, very busy, But our Mojo in the
Morning Show got a letter from one of your biggest
supporters ever for our breaking and entering Christmas Wish program
that told us that you guys are some amazing guys,
that you have done some cool stuff in your lives.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Can I have them read the letter? To you.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
Yeah, go for it, Go ahead, don Sarah Mojo in
the morning. I want to tell you about two exceptional
young men. This is not just a story about two
young men in need. It's not just a story about survival.
This is a story about a beautiful, lifelong friendship, a
true friendship, best friends. My name is Donna, and I

(02:55):
would like to introduce you to Stephen Phillips and Michael West.
Stephen grew up without his dad being there. Michael's dad, Stadley,
passed away. The boys were both ultimately raised by their grandmothers.
The boys grew up without much and still don't have
much to this day. They both graduated from high school.

(03:16):
Michael went on to enroll in college, while Stephen found
a job. Stephen was even faced with homelessness. They have
endured countless odds stacked against them and so much heartache,
but they continue to push forward, work hard, and show
kindness to others. These young men deserve a wonderful Christmas.

(03:38):
They wouldn't have made it if they didn't have each
other to lean on and get through the hard times together. Mojo,
please help me make this holiday a memorable one for them. Sincerely, Donna.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
Wow, this is a beautiful story.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
You got.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
Thank goodness, you had each other to get through everything
that was thrown at you.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
It's a perfect example of chosen family. You chose each other.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
Oh yeah, and stay on and to learn.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Is this amazing to me because I'm like crying just
off of Donna's letter that she sent and I can
picture you two guys, just buds, always there for each
other for life, that you'll you'll be the best men
in each other's weddings. You know, you'll be there for
each other when you guys have your own families.

Speaker 5 (04:34):
I have to tell you somebody sent us a picture
of you guys, and you're maybe six or seven years old.

Speaker 2 (04:40):

All right, thank you?

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Very much.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
We did. We did some massive shopping.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I mean we did everything from making sure that you
guys had all the cool stuff you know that every
you know, twenty year old guy would want TV with Roku,
Xbox systems.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
Intendo switches, everything you need for work.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
We'll take care of your streaming services and things like that.
Plus we wanted to make sure that you guys had
everything that you would need as far as as those
going to work close.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Yeah. And by the way, Michael and Stephen, we heard
that you guys were saving up for a trip to
Cedar Point. You can use that money for something else
because we're making that happen for you.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
All expenses paid.

Speaker 5 (07:13):
You guys are going to Cedar Point this summer.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Can I actually tell that story that the story is
pretty awesome. We ended up calling Cedar Point and we
said to Cedar Point, here's the deal with Breaking Entering.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
This is the two guys.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
They thought you guys were such a model of what
twenty year old guys should be, so they're going to
set you guys up with all the tickets, all the
fun fast passes and everything. A stay at the hotel Breakers,
which is incredible. Plus we'll give you some spending money
that you guys can use while you're at Cedar Point
when the weather gets finally warm.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Grandma grandmas are in shock right now, but Grandma's are
going to be more in shock than we tell them
that we got them stuff too. We got both of
you guys stuff.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
Yeah, we can't forget about it, you guys. Yeah, we
got a bunch of stuff for you guys. Everything that
you guys will need to help feed these guys, which
because we know that you do a great job of
doing that, all the cooking wear and things like that.
We're gonna also have Kroger stock the shells that you
guys have with fresh food. Okay, Kroger is such a
great partner with us. But I want to know, so,

(08:21):
Grandma Denise and Grandma Suzie, you guys became great friends, uh,
and you're carrying it on to these guys.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
They're good guys, yeah they are.

Speaker 5 (08:39):
But what a testament to both of you because you
raised these young men to be the people that they
are today.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
And that's all you guys, And they really, they really
really are.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
They've been through a few struggles, yeah yeah they.

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Have, but they got each other.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
That's a good thing.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
That's a fact. I want to talk to Michael and Steven.
Can you guys hear me? Hey guys, my name is
My name is keV And obviously I'm a part of
the Mojo in the Morning showing team. And I read
in your story that both of you guys have had
parents that were incarcerated, and everybody's situation is different, but

(09:20):
my father was incarcerated when I was younger, and for me,
that was a very lonely experience. Even though I have family,
not everybody knew what I felt like. So to know
that you have a brother right next to you has
to be the most incredible thing. To have someone that
you can hug, that you can talk to, that understands

(09:42):
what you're experiencing. And I heard a quote one time
that said the best wine is grown in the toughest soil.
And with your grandmother's there, your brother's there, The ground
is tough, man, But you guys are those grapes and
you grow. And I just wanted to say, Merry Christmas, man,
and I'll let you that is beautiful.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I cannot go a day this week.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
I know, actually today was supposed to be the guys
days and Kevin just made me cry too. So, guys,
you're a model for truly what this season is all about.
And grandma's you are too, because you know what grandma's are.
Grandma's are the greatest people ever. There's no there's no
bad grandma and we love you guys.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Okay, you're looking stopped anymore because this looks like I
still have two more drinks.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
I think I'm done.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
You guys are like the Golden Girls of Detroit, I think,
aren't you?

Speaker 6 (10:47):
We didn't share the same Oh my.

Speaker 2 (10:49):
God, KP.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Let's get these guys a celebration of Christmas, celebration they've
never had before.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
And let's enjoy the Merry Christmas.

Speaker 5 (10:59):
And one two three one two three Mary Christmas, Merry Christmas.
