Speaker 1 (00:10):
Goodbye HVAC unit that never worked.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Goodbye phone system that barely ever gave us reliability.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Goodbye multi ceiling tiles and.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Black mold that might I don't know. There's all kinds
of stuff in the studio. I'll be honest with you, guys,
I never thought that I would actually say to myself
that I'm sad that this moment has come.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
But I am one that has a hard time with
letting go of things. I am not necessarily a hoarder,
but I will say this change has always been kind
of tough for me, and if it is for you too,
it's I think it's understandable. But this place has been
our home for the last twenty years and it will

(01:00):
not be the same. I know we'll have newer, nicer
facilities and better technology and all that stuff, but we
have so many memories that are here. There's there's a
lot of and I don't know if any of our
listeners have had any of those memories. If you're some
of the people that have done everything from shaved your
head in the studio to shaved your crotch, who knows.

(01:21):
But there's been so many people that took part in
contest here. I mentioned this the other day on the air,
and a listener sent me a picture of when we
did the Soldier Boy. Uh, tell them crank that song.
Everybody did the dance and we had Soldier Boy come here,
and we literally had tons of people.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Oh my god, my last in this market.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Oh, here's your last yodorant.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Thank you, I'm doing that with me. I'll smell otherwise.
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I've got your last toilet paper.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Oh, thank you Zach by the way for getting me
my last hair. I remember way back when in I
think it was two thousand and four that we moved
from where the transmitter is for this building to this facility.
It was Steve Shram was the boss. He moved his

(02:13):
hair because he lived a half a mile down the
street and it was close to his house. I give
him crap all the time. I'm like, you know what,
I guess if I was the boss, I'd put it
in our basement if I had to, you know what
I mean. So I didn't have to do much of
a commute. And as radio goes, he never got a
chance to actually really work in this building because our
company ended up letting him go you know. And I

(02:34):
remember showing him around this building that not that long ago,
and I said to Steve, I go, this is the
building that you built.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You know he did. He built this building. They didn't
let him go. He was promoted to a listener.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Well you know what. And honestly, Steve would look at
it that way. That's how honestly positive a guy he was.
When we moved here, I thought this was the stupidest
building ever to work in. The only thing cool about
it was that it was amw Rupair's old headquarters. But
it didn't make sense, know what it did because it
became our home. And it's funny because you can move anywhere,

(03:04):
we can move wherever we go. A home is not
the building in the four walls and all that stuff.
Home is the people that make it, you know, their home.
And we are all going over to our new facility
and we're going to make that our home. And we're
going to love on that place like we loved on
this place. And I think we're going to have honestly
the best radio you guys have ever heard. After about

(03:27):
a week and a half of figuring this thing out,
how you guys feeling. Are you guys feeling good about this.
I feel great, man, I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Good wit, I'm so excited too. It's funny I was
looking at I was getting sentimental last night. I could
not sleep for the life of me, and so I
was looking back at photos from when I first started
in two thousand and nine, all the way until now.
You know, you can like tag on the location and
then look at all the photos. It's so funny how
many facelifts this studio.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
What's through scared up personally.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
No, No.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
When I first got here, this studio was painted like
the shade of Zach sweatshirt blue, and it was just
very plain and there was nothing on the walls. And
then over the years, it's changed so much, and the
people inside of these four walls has changed so much.
And a lot has happened in here, and a lot,

(04:21):
a lot of great things have come out of this space.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I want to shout out Melissa.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Melissa was the first listener that called in on our
first day and welcomed me to the show.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Wow. So shout out to Melissa. Hope you listen. I
appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
In this second, I'm going to play the last The
last song is going to be the first song we
ever played in the studio, So it's kind of a
cool it's kind of a cool thing, I think, to
be able to do it because very full start, you'll
hear you will hear us tomorrow broadcasting from somewhere that
we're going to be so excited about being so the
sadness will go away after probably thirty minutes or so,

(04:56):
and then tomorrow when we're broadcasting from nice new place.
It's like getting rid of car. I don't know my family,
like my mom hated when she got when her car
needed to get changed out, and she hated getting another
car because the memories us kids would leave in that
car called cheerios and French fries and all the rest.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
Sharpie hearts on the back of the driver's seat, right
thanks mss Sorry.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Brian, that's called his artwork. Every single time, Lisa, what's up?
It's our last moments here in this on air studio
in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Speaker 4 (05:28):
Hi, Lisa, Hi, I actually call all the time, and
I just want you to know, for the past several
years you have been with me every single day I
drive for a living, and I really just want to
give you the warmest wishes and I hope you have
a good transition. Thank you. And will we still be
able to listen in mid Michigan.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yes, because nothing changes. So nothing changes about the show
like the signal, the iHeart app. The radio stations were
on t LEE Grand Rapids Detroit Channel nine FI five.
The only thing that changes is the home base of
where we all will be in the Detroit area. We're
gonna be broadcasting from a new studio which is in

(06:12):
downtown Detroit. And I think people when I say to
people all the time we're in front of jails Michigan.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
People, where's that?

Speaker 2 (06:18):
They have no idea. So we'll just say we're in Detroit.
Now we'll actually truly be able to say we're in Detroit.
And if you've ever gone into come to Detroit for
like a sporting event or whatever, we're just right there
in eastern market, minutes away from all the big stadiums
and stuff.

Speaker 4 (06:35):
Very nice. Yeah, I hope you guys have a bad time,
and I hope you really enjoyed this new studio. You
guys have deserved it for a long long time.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
It's try and cheering us up every day. You guys
are truly amazing.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Honestly, thank you so much. It means a lot.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Thank you to our boss Colleen for starting our morning
off with us and ending.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Our morning with us. She came in. She what a leader, man,
She's the best. We love her.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
She hare with us. I can't say anything nasty, He's like,
she honest, Can I be honest with you?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
She is like, seriously shaved your crotch, Like, well, I'm.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
Talking nasty, nasty, but I wasn't like describing the crotch.
But Colleen has been truly somebody over the years, Like
Colleen's grown up with all of us too, because you know,
she's somebody that started here and just doing you know,
sales and uh management and sales and then moving up
to our big, big boss. And I'm so happy that
you're the person that gets to be our boss when

(07:33):
we do this, because I think that's a I think
that's a huge thing for you because you have made
every place at home for all of us. Which I
say this, not all bosses do that in radio, you know.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
In any in any industry, in any industry. Yes, like
she truly does. She cares about us.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
I believe a thousand percent more personally than she does
even professionally, knowing that it will make us better professionally.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
What's up, Joey? Maybe the last airhorn in the studio?
Who knows what's going on? Buddy, I've just been.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
Listening for a long time.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
I want to call and Kevin.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
I'll see you on the thirtieth.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
What's going down on the thirtieth pistols? I'll see you
in there. Say what's up, Brian? What's up? It's Mojo
in the morning, Mojo, how you guys doing good? What's
going on? Bud?

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Not much? Just kind of a bittersweet day as you
guys get ready to leave and move into the new studio.
But I was calling to see if you guys had
a betting pool going on about how long it would
take Mojo to start complaining about something.

Speaker 3 (08:39):
Actually, know, if you were listening yesterday, we already talked
about the heat was, the ac was broken, whatever degrees
in there.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
We hadn't even moved.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Over under on that that is over under on what
is going to be the first thing I complained about.
I'm guessing it's the proximity of the bathrooms. That's what
I'm guessing, all Right, all right, put the bats down.
Now you be with us tomorrow morning at six o'clock.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Oh yeah, I'll be there, all right, buddy. Appreciate you
so much.

Speaker 4 (09:07):
Hope I have a good one.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
I got a chance to sign this building on, and
I got a chance to sign this building off. And
this is actually pretty damn cool. So I say to
everybody that has ever worked on this radio show or
on this radio station over the years, you're the reason
why A Channel nine five five has been Detroit's longest
running number one hit music station.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
And thank you for listening to Mojo. In the morning.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
We will be coming to you from Detroit, where we
should have been coming to you all along. A Detroit
radio station should be on in Detroit and Detroit you
got it, so, as keV said, Detroit gets its Mojo back. Yes,
we'll see you guys. Thank you for being here. The
last song is the first song that we ever played
in this video. Twenty plus years of idiocy and still

(09:55):
going in Detroit, Toledo, in West Michigan.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
It's Mojo.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
