Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back to the Sports Radio August fourteenth, twenty twenty
four Wednesday. I had people give me a hard time
yesterday because I did not go outside and see that
it had rained. So I told people, and then from
my basement it looked like it was going to rain.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
So I got a lot of.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
Grief from a few of my friends who said, if
you'd carried your butt up the steps and went outside,
you would have seen that it did rain. So I
wanted to give you all a better report. It's beautiful
outside this morning. That's all I'm going to say. I
did get up and I went outside. I'm not going
to tell you the few people that gave me grief,
I'm not going to even publicize them. They don't even
get a shit out. But it's a wonderful day. Make

(00:39):
sure you get outside and enjoy it some today. We've
got a great show in store for you. First and foremost,
I've got to bring my co host, one young fella,
Anthony Ease, welcome back.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
How are you it.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
I'm doing good this morning. I'm doing very well. See
and this is the reason why we let bat do
the weather in the morning. Accuracy.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
There's the reason why we.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Matt. You know this, boys starting to get a little
too comfortable. I went to cutting man. I want to
cut him.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
No, no, no, anyway, Anthony.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Here's the deal, though, Anthony, let's get to the business first.
We have to tell people our phone number. This is
EVE Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I am the brand.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
The phone number is five zero two, five seven one
seventy nine hundred were Sports Talk seven ninety kr D.
To get that out of the way, and we've got
a lot to get to, Anthony, we really do. But
to give people a little overview of what we're going
to cover today. Olympians in this year's Olympics from the

(01:44):
state of Kentucky affiliation with the University of Kentucky and
the University of Louisville, we cover some of them. We
had a high school young man from Manu High School
that winter Notre Dame speak about him. There are a
lot of people that accomplish great things in the twenty
twenty four Olympics and I love so we're gonna talk
about that. Of course, we got to get into University

(02:04):
of Kentucky football. When they're leading running back, transfer of
Ohio State goes down. So Anthony, I've already been sending
out in you indows to all my cat friends.

Speaker 2 (02:16):
Cats go down. Let me see that one go down.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
I know, hate me being a text, everybody hating on
me being a Texas fan. Are starting running back and
I think it's out for the season.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yes, yes, you have had two running backs go down there.
I think you had another win. I do you have
to research it. I think you had another one.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
You all in trouble, Texas looking like Baltimore Ravens right now.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Hey, guess what.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Baltimore Ravens has more torn AHLs. And in pre season football,
I've overseens.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
It happens every year, it seems like. But you know,
I just leave my Cowboys out of your mouth. It's
all I've got to say, Anthony. We're gonna talk a
little bit of NFL and the quarterback situation. Leave my
Cowboys out of your mouth. That's all that I'm going
to say, Anthony.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
That's hard to do.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
It is.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Do you know that they're the first franchise sports franchise
Jerry Jones to go over ten billion dollars network ten?
I said ten billion, Anthony, not a billion, not two billion,
not five billion.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Ten billion for the Cowboys. Can't win a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Y'all won't even y'all still won't even playoffs. That's why
receiv'd left time.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I know well can't win a playoff game.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
Arry Jones that he's in no rushing urgency.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
You know he's not.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
They just seed Lamb off the active rosters.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Not on the I know he'll be their first game,
might win, Anthony. I want him to blow up the
roster in way, so I'm not gonna be mad at
you this year. It's time too. They did.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
Michael Galloper Michael Galluper tired. I'll have bling it up.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I want to sign and trade. I would sign DC trade,
I'd sign Lamb trade. I'd keep Parsons, I'd keep my
defense in pieces, and I would trade my offense and
get as many drift picks.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Jimmy Johnson theory.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
I could. I really wouldn't. I just don't see him
going anywhere.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Nobody nobody wants who else they want outside.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
And we had the second and third best offense in
the NFL last year. Always, I can't.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
Even go I can't go up statistical numbers for you all.
They're not everybody else. They make sense. I know nobody
nobody's trading the paper we need, we need, we need
some production, some production, brow it up.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
But we do regular season. We're good come playoff team.
I mean we're straight gray Why I mean.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Yella hard and trade. Y'all hard and trade were all
so expensive, all an expensive teams. Most people that are
in that same category as cap speed.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
You have to admit, have to admit.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
Dak Prescott is much better than anyone ever expected out
of college out of a fourth round pick.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Be honest, now much better.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I know, I am. I can't believe he can't win
a big playoff game, but he's much better than I
ever thought he would be much better. Right or wrong,
he's done.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
He's done well.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I knocks Dak Prescott. He has done well. If you
rank him an overall quarterbacks and what they've done in
the last ten years, Dak Prescott is filling the top
ten and I to say it. But when it comes
to the production level that you walk him in winning
Matterson most is postseason. He's very sub part. And that's
the reason why people think Dak Prescott is overpaid and
he's not worth what he is because he is a

(05:49):
regular season player. He's like a lot of NBA players.
We're good in the regular seasons till the playoff comes around.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
Can't get to the playoffs. Cut he can't get it
done in the playoffs. But he's not over paid now
he was. But they're talking about he's resetting the market.
I'm like, they're crazy. If he resets the market into
the sixty million a year, whoever signs in, Oh, well,
that's all I can say.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
That's gonna be the cowboy.

Speaker 5 (06:12):
That's the only team that can afford fan then right
now a million dollars. These other teams they have money
to pay. You know, Jordan loves Trevor Lawrence, even Kyler Murray.
You know, they're all getting paid million dollars.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
The only person that the only person that was qualified
in the sixty million categories. He's the only one. None
of them are also even close. You've not even though
Lamar fans out there, Lamar's not worth taking million dollars.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I've got a list.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
We're gonna get into the quarterbacks at me. We are
because I agree with you. Now let me get to
something that I wanted to start the show with. And
this is interesting. I'm being honest with you and my
phone's blowing up. Anthony, listen to me. Man, friends, look,
this is starting to get personally. Here's what I get

(07:02):
on my phone, Dallas. Just like your Cardinals going nowhere,
you just wait till my Cardinals beat them cats. I
can't wait, and I just can't wait. Listen to I
can't wait. So Anthony, here's what we have yesterday. Coach
Beard called me last night and says you have to
do me a favor. I said, okay, what's going on?

(07:23):
He says, I want to bring something to your attention,
and he said his opinion top four greatest players ever
out of the state of Kentucky. I said, oh, okay,
who wes you? Clym Haskins, who yar Rix Chapman who
read Shepherd? I was like, hoo, really I named those names.

(07:47):
Those are the names. He said, No, but I didn't
know the context. I want you to understand. He said, now, Jerry,
this is not for fun. A gentleman passed away. I said,
oh okay, so I stopped playing. I said, but still
who because I named I said, all those guys did
something happened I didn't hear about. He said no. I says, okay, Well,

(08:07):
he said I just talked to Marv Selvie. I said, okay,
I know Marv. You don't know Marv Anthony. But he
lives in Hunting Creek, straight up the street for me,
not far from David Stanley, teammate of mind, close friend
of mine. I mean, right around the corner from each other.
And he played at University of Louislle with Coach Beard.
I said, something happened to Marv. He said, Jerry, I

(08:28):
told you. Marv just called me. I said, okay, well,
what are you telling me about? He says, Frank his
brother passed away. I said, oh, and he saw. I
want to give you some statistics. I want people to
understand some things. You have never heard the name Frank
Sylvie Anthony. You weren't born, I understand. But this state

(08:53):
has completely missed on this gym. Coach Beard said that
Marvin he had spoken numerous times that the only true
miss that Adolph Rubb ever did. He came to watching
plate at Cordon High School, but didn't take him to
the University of Kentucky. But his name was Frank Selvie Anthony.

(09:13):
You passed away. He's the only player Anthony in this
state to be the number one pick from this state,
not from the University of Kentucky. We're going to get
into the Olympians like we spoke about, but we're talking
about from the state of Kentucky. That was the number
one draft pick in the NBA Draft was Frank Selvy.

(09:36):
Anthony was from Cordon High School court in Kentucky Hills
of Eastern Kentucky. And let me just put it to
you this way. He was a bad man. He goes
to Furman, right around the corner from where you grew
up in North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (09:53):
Anthony, you've probably been to Furman. I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
You probably went to AU tournaments there. I don't know,
but I've been to Firma. Yeah, I've been a FIRMANI boy, Anthony.
He goes there and averages thirty three points a game
in college. A lot of people to understand, just like
Wilt Chamberlain scored one hundred Anthony. He scored one hundred
points in a college game. Got me, Frank Selvie, you've

(10:21):
never heard this name. You don't ever hear the state
talk about this guy. He scored one hundred Anthony in
that college game. He was the number one draft pick
by the Baltimore Bullets in nineteen fifty four. Got me,
he's from Corton High School. Anthony. Gordon used to be really,
really good. I mean they put up real players. This

(10:42):
is before your time. But for old Kentucky Louisville fans
in this state, do you remember Cordon, they used to
call them the Selvie's and the Birds. There was a
gentleman that went to University of Kentucky Anthony named Roger Byrd.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Got me.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
He played pro football, Anthony. He was a great running
back for the University of Kentucky, running back punterr Andy
Back in the day they did everything, defensive back, he
did everything.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
But he played in the NFL. So Corton was known.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Cordon County was known for the Birds and the Sylvis,
Marvin Frank and a super loss played with Jerry West.
Anthony played in the NBA for nine years. There's no
money made back then. That's when newspapers is the way
you got your information. He averaged ten point eight points
a game, three point nine assist, and two time NBA

(11:45):
All Star. Yes, so just make sure I said that right.
It's Cordon Corbin, not Courted, It's Corbin County. Anthony. He
was Eastern Kentucky. Real deal ever got to.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
Is in Indiana.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
I was, yes, exactly, exactly, drove back all the time.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Anthony. He was a bad man and he left us.
So I just wanted a lot of people to know,
because no one will know the name. That is Darryl Griffith,
the number two pick. That is wes Un Sale. The
number two pick got me. That's Tyrae the number two pick.
We've had shepherds. I mean, we've had a numerous from

(12:38):
the state. Melvin Turpins six picks. I think Rex Chapman
was the eighth pick, Jeff lamp was the fifteenth. Jack
Gibbons was somewhere in there. I mean, we've we've had
numerous first round Clem Haskins was like the fourth pick,
and we've had great players from the state. But this
gentleman is a guy that probably will not get any
accolades today. He probably won't say anything about him, but

(13:03):
he may be the best high school player ever out
of the state. He may be. So, yes, we just
wanted to make sure, yes, Corbin County, you are Corbi
in make sure that I pronounced that correctly.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
So, guys, I just wanted to make sure we got
that out.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
People would not even remember Roger Bird running back in
Kentucky from this small high school, Anthony. You remember in
the fifties, there probably wasn't three hundred people at that
high school, and they had an NFL top pick in
the NBA number one pick and he first run draft
pick in football. Come on, man, so job well done, Marv.

(13:46):
I'm sure your family is grieving right now. I know
Marvel really well. He plays golf, Anthony, He's been in
my golf tournament. He played with Coach Beard at Louisville.
He's done really well for himself and he's really a
great guy. Makes donations to Sidons College for me all
the time. So I just wanted to make sure. Coach
Beard wanted to do it, but he had to be

(14:09):
somewhere this morning one of his doctor's appointments, so he
could not. But I just wanted to make sure that
we gave Frank Selvie his due. One hundred points at
and Kat fans, you know, we're always going back and forth.
I have never heard or read anything from Adolph Rupp,
but a lot of people in this state that was
the biggest miss. They said, Adolph went and watched him play,

(14:32):
but did not sign him, and he was, without a doubt,
the real deal. So we just wanted to make sure
we got that out. And we're already at seven twenty one.
When we come back, we're going to get into the
Olympians a little bit, talk about all the Kentucky Olympians
and the twelve Louisville Olympians that we're in the twenty

(14:53):
twenty four Olympics this year. It's the sports radio phone
numbers five zero two, five seventy nine hundred. We'll talk
to you in a minute. Welcome back to sports radio
phone numbers five zero two, five seven one seventy nine hundred.
Thank you, Matt, And we've got us a caller, so
we're going to bring Mickey on and with Mickey on, Mickey,

(15:15):
welcome to E Sports Radio.

Speaker 6 (15:16):
Are you I'm doing good? How are you guys today?

Speaker 1 (15:20):
Mickey, We're great. Before I let you tell me what
you need, I want to tell everybody something else about
this list. Anthony listened to this, and everyone listened to this.
This explains boy of this. I'll better be here. I'll
be so mad. Okay, great, I'm on my phone, but
I just wanted to google something for everyone. Frank Ramsey

(15:41):
number six pick nineteen fifty three, Madisonville, Frank Selvy, of course,
number one pick nineteen fifty four. Charlie Tyray number two
pick out of Atherton High School nineteen fifty seven. Tom
Thatcher number five overall pick to the Cincinnati Royals, sixty

(16:02):
three territorial selection. Jeff Mullins Lafayette number six pick personal
friend of Butch and Mine Saint Louis Hawkes. He was
the athletic director at Charlotte and University of Charlotte Anthony
for numerous years. Clem Haskins number three overall pick nineteen

(16:22):
sixty seven. Bulls Wes Unseel number two pick overall Baltimore
Bullets in sixty eight.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
This is how good the state used to be, Anthony
basketball wise.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
Tom Bullwinkle Millitsberg A Military Academy number four overall pick
Bulls in sixty eight. Butch Beard breaker Ridge County number
ten overall selection by the Atlanta Hawks nineteen sixty nine.
Dave Cowen's Newport's Central Catholic number four overall pick Boston
Celtics seventy. Wesley Cox number eighteen selection Golden State Warriors

(16:58):
seventy seven, Jack Given number sixteen overall seventy eight, Daryl
Griffith number two overall, Utah Jazz nineteen eighty Jeff Lamp
my teammate, number fifteenth overall nineteen eighty one, Melvin Turpin
my man god rest his soul, number six overall, pick
Washington Bullets, Rex Chapman, who is on my show, King

(17:21):
Rex Charlotte Hornet's number eight overall pick nineteen eighty eight.
Felton Spencer number six overall, pick god rest his so,
I mean we've lost great One's anthony to the nicest
people in the world were Turping and Felton Spencer nineteen
ninety Alan Houston number eleven, pick ninety three, Derrick Anderson

(17:43):
number thirteen, been on the show numerous time from Clinton
Cavaliers nineteen ninety seven. Okay, now, Anthony Scott Paget twenty eighth,
pick ninety nine. Now it starts to get sparse, Ray
John Rondo twenty first, pick nine two thousand and six,
D'Angelo Russell central number two overall pick twenty fifteen, and

(18:04):
then Reed Shepherd was third. So, guys, we went a
twenty year period with only three players out of this state.
You go back years before that and we had them
every year. Now talking about scrubs like Jerry Eves that
also were drafted in Lee Raker and Rudy Macklins that
played in the NBA, not even talking about those scrubs.
This state. We need to get ourselves together because any

(18:26):
this state used to put out the number one, two, three, four,
five pick in the sixties and seventies and eighties. There
was no better state in basketball period, point blank, not now.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
So sorry about that. How can I help you? What's
going on?

Speaker 6 (18:41):
Well, I don't change the subject, but I know you're
going to talk about the Olympics. So I have a
question for both of you guys this morning.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
Sure sure you.

Speaker 6 (18:51):
All competed at a high level in sports. Suppose you
participated in the Olympics and you won a medal due
to an error in the judges.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Or Jordan Chiles, Jordan Child, that's oh god. Let me
tell you what.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
I've got a segment on that. I didn't know if
i'd get to it today, but you've brought it up. Anthony.
We've spoke about this, and Anthony, I'm gonna let you
go first, stay with us. I want you to go first, Anthony,
what would you do if you were Jordan Chiles? And
let's get this scenario correct so everyone will know. She competes,

(19:35):
she's a gymnast, she's fifth. The American team says that
she was judged incorrectly. One of the things that she did.
They did not put the correct skill rating on that move.
They review it, they change it because they said they
did not do it correctly. They the judges, which bumps

(19:56):
her to third. Two days after that, Anthony, there's an
appeal filed a Romanian judges saying that the Americans did
not get the appeals in within the one minute time
frame or the next participant starting its routine. It's one
of the two. So Anthony, they overturn it. They give

(20:21):
it back to the Romanian. Then the Americans come back
and say, we have evidence showing that we did make
the appeal within the one minute time frame, but the
Olympic Committee has said they're not going to overturn it.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
What would those are the facts, Anthony?

Speaker 1 (20:38):
What would you do? That is.

Speaker 7 (20:43):
That is very rare occasion, it's very particular occasions as
an athlete in that situation, you know, fighting for the opportunity,
especially the gendacy.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Gendastics is not very I don't want to say it's
not well known, but it's not as well publicized as
and hasn't been. Something's going on locally. So the Olympics
is their grand stage. This is where all the marbles
are kind of just kind of put them into that
top of the being category, top gymnast category. The situations
like this, I would have fought for my metal. I'm

(21:15):
gonna be completely honest if it's something that because Gymnasix
is skilled very is very, very toughly skilled as it is,
and the points system is very rigorous when it comes
to different styles, and I would have for my off.
I feel like the routine that I did is a
lot harder than someone from a different country, and I'm
getting scored on the same.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Kills she is.

Speaker 3 (21:36):
That's just not fair. I just don't think that's fairy.
Has to be an even playing field and being ground.
If you worked harder, harder to do a tougher root
can't be pulled on, well, you should deserve the medal. Now,
even after the review and they ab say that it
wasn't with one minute time frame. They reviewed everything else
but they don't review the proper evidence showing that she

(21:56):
is correct and she deserves that. Broad's look incorrect on
the Olympic. In my opinion, they went into full detail
to go into that to take them give the medal tours,
then take it back away. But when she has proper
everage showing that she deserves that bronze medal, which means
a lot for some people, it means a lot for
every country some people, some countries have never won a
medal ever, So a bronze medal is is the top

(22:18):
of the world form and it doesn't matter. The US
US is a lot higher and it's US is a
lot higher on the total pode when it comes to medals,
that bronze medal for a lot of US people is
just kind of It's okay, but you got to understand
for gym nasty, gym nasty is very hard. One little message,
one little toe outside that line hutasha mouting from the
gold medal to not getting on the podium at all.

(22:38):
So it is very tough and is very competitive. So
for Jordan Child, I feel for I would have fought
for the medal because this is unfair and you can't
do something like that, that's worked so hard for four
years to go out there on one stage to show
that this is what they've been doing behind closed doors,
blood sweat and tears for the last four years, to
get cheated. There you go.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
Okay, let me tell you what to get cheated.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
That's tough, Anthony, Micky, here's the situation, and everyone listening,
I want you to listen to me closely, really closely,
and I'm going to give you all a true Frank
Eves my dad, I told you all five foot eight,

(23:24):
never played a sport. Microbiologist, one of the first black
PhDs in this city, got me in chemistry, would have
told me, don't leave it up to doubt. You have
to be overwhelmingly better. Is it unfair? Yep, but he

(23:45):
would have told me. Secondly, who told you it was
going to be fair? Mickey, I have looked at this situation.
I feel for Jordan Childs, I really do. I think
it is completely unfair. But when you have I have judges.
That's a great thing about football basketball, and that's why
you've heard me be critical of officials for not calling

(24:10):
the rules got me, because that's their job. It's left
up to doubt. It's left up to one thousands of
a point, and that's what this came down to. I
want y'all to know Anna the Romanian gymnast put out
a heartwarming statement to everyone, making them understand that she

(24:35):
understands their grief and pain. I don't know if she
wrote it or not, but it's still it made me
say at least she's trying to reach out through social media,
that she's not snatching the metal from her and running.
She says. He hopes that they'll both be there in
twenty twenty eight to compete against each other again to
see who is the best. But there's nothing you can do.

(25:00):
You must follow the rules of whoever governs you. Bottom line,
the NCAA governs University of Louis University Kentucky. The football
programs just got in trouble. Guys, they just got in trouble.
My basketball program got in trouble. I've gotten a lot
of grief for saying if they say it's against the rule,
it's against the rule.

Speaker 2 (25:20):
So, guys, the Olympic Committee has ruled.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
They said that they were not going to review it
a second time, and they're going to say the way
they are. I feel for Jordan Chiles. But again, there
is a governing party for everything. It doesn't mean it's right.
What has to happen, Mickey, is that they must change
the rule. If you can show evidence that would correct

(25:46):
are wrong, you should be able to do that. Not
within one minute, not within one day, not within one week.
If it took you two weeks to prove it, and
you could prove it, then you should be able to
prove it. That is my statement. So I tell everyone
to change the rule, with the Olympic Committee go through
the process to do that. But yes, I'm with you

(26:07):
any and personally, I wouldn't want to give my medal back.
I tell you better print another one. They'd have to
come find me. I would turn it to the Newburgh
jury ease, they'd have to come find me. Between Newburgh
and Thomas Jefferson boys, they'd have to come get my medal.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
So I agree with you, Anthony.

Speaker 1 (26:25):
But what I'm telling you is they're gonna have to
change the rules. That's all.

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Let me ask this then, Okay. Suppose your child goes
to school and comes home one day and says, dad,
I was talking about your Olympic medal, and the kids
told me that you really didn't win.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yes, you must explain it to them. No, I agree
with you totally.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
That's when you have to have hard conversations with your kids.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
You do.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
You have to sit them down and you have to
make them how can I put this wiser than their years?
You have to get them to understand. It's a great
learning lesson. That could be the best thing, Makey that
could ever happen. Is that for her son or daughter
twenty five years from now, fifteen years from No, excuse me,
when they're fifteen sixteen years.

Speaker 2 (27:18):
Old, say hey, mom, they said they took your gold
medal from you, that one I see in the cabinet.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
If you had not given it back, if she would
pull a newberger, I know she will not, But.

Speaker 2 (27:29):
What would you tell them?

Speaker 1 (27:31):
You should? That is a great learning experience to tell
her exactly what happened, and to tell her and let
her know there's nothing fair about this world. Don't I
hate that? Make Y. I swear to you, and I
mean this. My dad was in no play. Anthony got
to meet him when he was trying to get into heaven.
I mean that he was letting Anthony and them win.

(27:51):
He was busting himself out in blackjack so he could
give Anthony and those guys quarters and Nichols, and he
used to love him. I mean, Anthony stood up at
my dad's funeral. You may not even remember this. Anthony
at the podium at Ady Porters it was only the
family only, and said, who's gonna play blackjack with us?
And we all bust out laughing. It was the best
moment of my dad's funeral. I mean, my mother laughed, cried,

(28:15):
we bust out laughing. Because we would go to Florida
every year Mickey and my dad would bust out to
give him to let Anthony and Frankie and everybody win.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
He never did that with me. Damn believe me.

Speaker 1 (28:27):
I'm about to say for a letter word. But he
did tell me nothing's fair. Don't let anybody ever tell
you that fair. This isn't fair. Nothing's fair. You better
go take what you want. And if you didn't, I
would tell Jordan Childs twenty twenty eight's coming up, leave
no doubt, tear them up. I mean tear them up.

(28:49):
Mickey A great call. I gotta get to break great call, though,
And when we come back, we are going to talk
about that list of Olympians.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
Thanks for the call.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Mickey, Hey, Mickey E Sports Radio. I'll talk to you
when the contest comes. I'm gonna give you a gift
card when we start our football contest. We'll talk to
you after the break. Welcome back to the Sports Radio Wednesday,
August fourteenth, twenty twenty fourth. You did not, So it's
seven forty two. I've got Anthony holding on to his
Brine's medal. I'm hiding mind, Anthony, That's all I can

(29:19):

our next caller, Anthony. We got Blanding on the line.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
Blanded.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Welcome to the Sports Radio. Don't start anything, Blanding, don't
start anything. It's too early.

Speaker 4 (29:31):
And you know that it started yet now you know,
first of all, good morning, mister Eves and and Anthony.
This is your biggest fan calling in. And I just
wanted to tell you, Jerry that yesterday morning, I was
traveling and I was eating oatmeal, and I heard you
discussing your yard and talking about watering and doing this,

(29:53):
that and the other. And you know, I got strangled
on my oatmeal because you know you're your Graham's Jerry,
look like augustin National year round. And everybody knows that
when you scary scurry off and about in your car
and your private jet everywhere you go, that everyone knows

(30:15):
that your maintenance staff there uh at your property does
a fabulous album in your yard. And and you know,
these people that you are talking to on this radio
show have no idea. You don't know what a hose
is or a a water and apparatus. You don't know
what a lama is. You know you know.

Speaker 1 (30:34):
Sprinkler, yes, And.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
And you know my old meal literally was wasn't down
the wrong way when I heard you talking about warning
your yard because you don't know nothing about that.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
Something's wrong with that, man, That's all I get. Something
wrong with you. You're gonna get you checked. I'm gonna
get you some help.

Speaker 4 (30:54):
How's that well, I just want you to know, young man,
I'm excited. I am really excited about the annual East
Sports Radio College football Pick from contest. It's the greatest
one in the world and we're gonna have a lot
of fun. And I just want you to know, you, Nate,
you need to change the olt. Need to the store
or to the show, Jerry, because you always say you

(31:15):
can't handle the truth, and well knows you don't know
what a water and apparatus is, so I hope you'll
consider changing that.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Oh gosh, bland if all I can tell is this
before I let you go, and we're gonna get to break.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
But we are going to name those Olympians, Anthony.

Speaker 1 (31:30):
The contest starts with Clemson at Georgia, Austin p at Louisville,
Southern miss at Kentucky, and you're either going to get
You're gonna get Western Kentucky at Alabama. I'm not going
with Indiana. Somebody said kick Indiana. I'm kicking them for

(31:50):
this week. Then if they gamble against the Jerry Eve,
you're gonna get one of the games either Ballard's Game, Mail, Trinity,
Saint Xavier, Central, our Christian Academy.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
So that's what we have on doc for the first
week of the contest. So we will get to it, Blanded.
It's seven forty five.

Speaker 4 (32:12):
Thank you, buddy.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
You have a good dayling.

Speaker 1 (32:15):
I gotta get you to get you some help. We
gotta get you some help, young man, We really do.
He's a bruin, Anthony, but we need to get the help.
Thank you blending Matt. Let's take us away so when
we come back, we can take our time to these Olympians.

Speaker 2 (32:28):
Eastwarts Radio will talk to you after the break.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
Welcome fact to Easports Radio seven. Yes, the show has
blown past Anthony.

Speaker 2 (32:40):
Let's get into these Olympians.

Speaker 1 (32:43):
Which we want to make sure that we for the
last time congratulate them for their efforts, their hearts, sweat, blood,
sweat and tears and what they accomplished. So let's start
with the University of Kentucky group that did do an
excellent job with the medals helping America win the metal count.
Go ahead and give me when University of Kentucky products

(33:03):
not in the state of Kentucky, but the University of
Kentucky produced in gold medals this year.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Tucky. Some of them are some recent athletes. The first
one would be Anthony Davis in the USA men's basketball team.
The second one is Devin Booker as well USA men's basketball.
Third is bam Adebayo also as well USA men's basketball. Fourth,
we have Ryan Howard, the first and the gonk gold medals.
Ryan Howard received a ground in the three D three

(33:34):
basketball that they had going the Olembers. So those are
the four players that we've had from the University of Kentucky.
All received a metal placement of some sort. Going farther
into our list, this is just going into the state
of Kentucky itself. This is outside justin University of Kentucky.
At the top with with two gold meals, actually had
Sydney to gloss the Rome.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
She went to you, Okay, Anthony, I hate to even
say that. She went to you.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Okay, she went there two years. She's the greatest, exactly,
can't get She's the best of them all, Anthony, She's
the best of them all.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Dominants was going to call in and be like the
best on the planet.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
I don't want to do that. We can't do that,
and we gotta leave them off.

Speaker 3 (34:24):
You can't do that.

Speaker 1 (34:26):
But Anthony, Oh, she's active.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
The next and she's amazing, god athletically scary.

Speaker 8 (34:37):
The next one we have my opinion, go ahead, and
in the next one we have we have elections Homes
with the gold medal in the four by four hundred
meter relay, and we also have the fire Russell received
the gold medal and one hundred meter hurdles.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
Next boy, one of our lists. We have Jasmine Camacho
Quinn who received the bronze medal ins and we have
two girls received go and podium placement in the same event, yes,
and then coming then we have Daniel Roberts who received
the silver better than one hundred and ten meter hitters,
so we got a lot of herb is going off
and you know from Kentucky and University the Test. The

(35:14):
last two on the list we have lead keepers who
actually won two gold medals and fencing and Team four
US so the fencing is almost play Jobston similar. And
the last on the list we have Avery Skinner. We
received a silver meta in woman's ballet, William's volleyball rough
dave for me from the words, I don't know what's
going on, Very Skinner silver better and women's volleyball.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Exactly silver medal. I'm with you. It's a tongue tie.
Great job we did, Louis Woe did great.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Khale Jones didn't get a medal, but they really represented
themselves well. I was really happy for him and hopefully
he'll get an opportunity back in the NBA. Matthew Schmidt's
the golfer who, of course we love. He's really good.
They did not medal, but they're excellent. Jaden Eleric who
is the discus thrower at the University of louiso They

(36:02):
had great swimmers. There were twelve participants from the University
of Louisville. They did not meddle, but still we had
a great group of people that were representing this state.
But we cannot forget the goose. Anthony from Manual High
School in the fifteen hundred meters got the bronze medal.
I was really happy for Yarick. I was happy for

(36:23):
him and what he's accomplished with his career, going to
Notre Dame and doing great things.

Speaker 2 (36:27):
So there we go, Anthony.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
We have to wait now truly four years for the
next Olympics, not three, and because they backed it up
for COVID, we have to wait four years and see
what happens. But hopefully that there'll be a lot of
these participants that get another chance. And like our callers
said for Jordan Chiles, all that I could tell her,
Anthony is leave no doubt if that's what you want

(36:53):
to do, if you want to commit dedicate your life
to gymnastics for another four years, and guys like Anthony
telling you all, you have no idea the commitment what
they do to be Olympians. If you want to commit
another four years of your life and that's something you
want to do, go for it and make sure you
leave no doubt. That's what Frank Eases would have told her.

(37:15):
Make sure next time there is no doubt that you're
standing on that podium with a medal in your hand.
It doesn't have to be gold medal, but that you
have a medal in your hand. So a really tough
situation with that. I hate that it worked out this
way for all the participants, everyone that had to go
through it, and hopefully they can get the rule changed. Guys,

(37:39):
we can't always complain about the outcome. We have to
go to the governing bodies, just like the NCAA and
make them make decisions.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
It's just like it's the Wild Wild West.

Speaker 1 (37:48):
Players are getting paid yes, because that legt directors and
presidents would not make decisions ten years ago and fifteen
years ago. They knew this was coming. Ever since I've
been on this radio show, Coach Beer and I have
been telling everyone that has been listening it was coming.
So now it's here and everybody's so surprised. We have
been telling you all it's called bad leadership. When people

(38:10):
don't make decisions in time, it's called bad leadership. It's
all there's too and right now we know the Olympic
Committee has been tarred in all kinds of scandals, Anthony.
Financial you can buy the Olympics, and most people do, Anthony.
Most countries put their best foot forward. They try to
buy the Olympics. It brings an economic boost to your

(38:32):
city sometimes sometimes not always, but anyway, job well done.
And I sent you something at the bitter end. Tomorrow
when we're in studio we're going to talk about it
a little bit because everybody's trying to compare Lebron James
and Michael Jordan. So I just sent you something, Anthony
that we're not going to say today, but without a doubt,

(38:55):
it takes all doubt away.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
In my mind.

Speaker 1 (38:57):
So I'm going to give you a whole day and
a whole day, thank you man, the whole day to
try to prepare your side. I want you to take
the Lebron's side, even if you don't like you.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
I want you to try to take what Oh no,
I don't want to. You got switched I'm not enough. No,
I'm not even a Lebron fan. Why.

Speaker 2 (39:17):
I gotta think played against Mike, you ge't heavy. That's
my era. Mike I played against each other and we
broke bread.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
I'm about to pull out. I'm pulling out Kobe at
this point.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Okay, E Sports Radio, and you have a great day.
Everyone else, have a beautiful day. We'll talk to here tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
God's willing h
