I'm petty, but sometimes I'm a little bit petty.

beginning of the year.

Well, I get a call a few weeks ago from
somebody I really like it, UK who says to me, Hey, Matt,
the rapid reaction videos, y'all can't do those on the
field or on the court anymore. That's official JMI after
the game, property which I'm like, whatever, okay. So I
didn't like that, but I said, you know, you let

the TV stations go live on the field. You let
the TV stations go live on the court. Why can't
we do it? You can't. I didn't like that, So
I said, all right, let's figure something else out. And
I was like, hey, Drew, why don't you guys go outside.

And be with the fans.

They had already done that sometimes, but I was like,
forget about being on the court.

There's no when you do.

It on the court, nobody's there anyway. They don't know
to say yes, and they don't on the sidewalk. I
ran in the first amendment that you can be on
the sidewalk, So now they do it on the sidewalk,
and it's become a thing. As people leave Reperina, they
wait for him, they get on there. The other night,
Jeff Shepard just popped in off of it. They get
special guests. It's right outside of rup. Last night they

had more views than the official stream of the postgame
press conference, which is what I wanted because they were
being petty and they were being stupid, and so we
just did our own thing and we beat him anyway.

for me until last night, everything kind of felt like

right now, I mean I feel like I'm in cloud nine.
It's like I feel like we could be watching the

like Mark Pope maybe reinventing college basketball.

Riding the biggest upset in college football in a number
of years by Vegas Spreads took place last night. Well,
actually Alabama Bandy was little more, but I'm gonna argue
this one was even bigger.

Jacksonville State game? No, that's the only one I saw.
It was on Kennisau State Kennessas State.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Kennisas State has been in FCFBS. This their third year
they've existed as a football program. Or no, they've existed
longer this, but they have basically for eight years played
FCS or what FBS, I never know what. We're in
Division one. They've played Division one teams for eight years.

For six of those years they also played FCS. In
eight years, never won a game against an FBST. They
went over in their conference the last two years. This
year they played last night. They've won a game, but
it was against an FCS tam. They played Liberty. Liberty
went undefeated last year. Liberty made the Fiesta Bowl last

year lost to Oregon sixty to three. But you know what,
we're not gonna talk about that. They made it this year.
Some people thought they were a dark horse for the playoff. Remember,
their president had a pool boy and a wife and
all that, so that's a whole different story. He has
nothing to do with this game. But anyway, they played
last night. Liberty was a twenty nine point favorite in
Kennesaw State beat him. They got their first ever FBS

win in the history of the program last night against Liberty.

I don't know anything about Kennessall's state, but I'm excited
they got the big win over Liberty.

So, I have a friend that says one of his
favorite things about the show is that when I say, hey,
man got fifteen seconds or I got thirty second?

Slower when you say that to him, He's like, as
soon as you tell them a time frame, he was like,
they freeze up, and he said, they get slower. And
it makes me laugh every single time. And I've started
to notice he's right about it, right true. If I
say thirty seconds, the person takes ten seconds to even
then get going.

I can get it being intimidating though. You know, we
wake up and do this every morning. It feels like
we're just sitting on a couch talking by now. But
you know, if you're calling in and you're not used
to doing this and then you get put on a clock,
I could see how that would startle you a little bit,
get you thrown off. Yeah, especially when Shannon's got the
buzzer right around the corner with.

Oh, the buzzer. Nobody's fast with the buzzer the buzzer. Days,
people are slower than normal days. To be honest with you,

So it feels like for the past ten to twelve years,
the question around this point of this peason has been
has Cow found his lineup? Has Cow found his line up?
Do you think with the Pope era, the new question
is how I hoped found his rotation because it feels
like probably so many guys who can shoot. Now, yeah,
we don't have to worry about that part of it.
So it feels like he can have a wider range

of people that he can rotate in and out situationally,
as opposed to just the five best guys.

I think there's six guys that are playing every game
no matter what, that are in the rotation all year.
I think that's Butler, Oway, Braa, Robinson, Carr Williams. I
mean those six every game. Then I think the second group,
which includes Kerr, Perry, Noah, Chandler, almanor Garrison, whom I'm missing.

I feel like I always miss one. Well whatever that group,
two or three of them will be in depending on
the game and depending how they're playing. And those dudes
are fighting for playing time all year. Ryan, do you
agree with that?

Yeah?

You know, he didn't make a sub until almost the
second TV time out. It was like a little over
twelve minutes where he finally subbed in somebody. So I
wondered if one question I was gonna try to find
out when he was at BYU and you toss they
did he kind of just go with a short rotation
six seven guys? Or did he try to play a
bunch of guys usually?

I mean they brought in though, I mean they brought
in ten dudes who expect to play, and then you
throw in Perry and Noah. That's twelve. So I you know,
I think a lot of dudes are getting minutes. I mean,
they're not twelve for not gonna play all the time,
but I think you're gonna see nine and ten play regularly.

I'm gonna add Kirk Reeser to that top group. He
started for three years nearly every game. Okay, dude's gonna
play a lot of minutes. Backing up Butler, I think
play a little bit beside him too. But if you
just go back to any of Pope's teams, pick one BYU,
Utah Valley whatever, a lot of dudes play like twenty
to thirty minutes. You don't have a guy who's playing
thirty three, thirty four to thirty five. There's a he

has decided to sit out the rest year. He's their
best player. He ran a kick back against Miami. He's
had really good games, best wide receiver. He now is
not playing, which will help Kentucky win the two teams
play at the end of the year.

Yeah, I didn't know he was that good of a
player that it was one of their stars that's going
to just step out now for the rest of the
season when they still have a chance to win a
lot of game to get a good Bowl game.

I don't know if he plans on staying at Louisville
or not. He didn't say, but he does plan on
playing another year. So he's basically is like, look, I
got one more year eligibility. I'm not one hundred percent healthy.

but I can kind of understand it now that Louisville's
not really playing for anything, you know.

Yeah, and these guys that aren't going to play professionally,
you got a small window. He came from a small school.
I understand if he wants to give another year where
can have a full season.

Also, this is some sad news on a lot of happiness.
We did mention Mark Stoop's mother passed away yesterday. Mark
and Mike, who's who Mark's brother, who's on the staff,
passed away. I think at ninety one years old, you know,
obviously very sad, lived a great life. You think about

how proud she has to be to have sons, all
of whom have had success in the same field where
they followed their father. But that's got to be tough
for Mark right in the middle of a game week
with this happening in Mike, that's got to be a
hard thing.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
Yeah, that's your mom. Even if you're expected, that's still
a hard emotional thing to have to go through. I
think what four of her boys ended up being major
college football coach.

Speaker 3 (18:27):
You think about that four of her and then I
think the there's a daughter, and I think she's very
successful at whatever she does as well. Yeah, from I
mean really from Youngstown, Ohio. To have that level of
success with all of your sons, Yeah, that's just a
really neat thing. That's that's a that's a great life
ful Phil.

I was trying to remember Vince on the show talked
about her something. She said something like take care of
Mark down there. But I remember just Vince telling stories
about her and how close they were too. Just the
timing of this. I feel awful for them, with so
much they have going on. You know, it's something I
think you want to just disappear for a little bit,
but he's in the middle of a football season.

don't think you were gonna see more Bowley either way.
But if you weren't gonna see more Bully, going oho
for six and throwing the interception probably didn't help that happen.
But I really don't think that was I don't think

So then what do you what are you thinking about Gavin?
Because with the offensive line being so bad right now,
Gavin does give us that option to kind of do
you know, rollouts, whereas Brock he seems like every time
he rolls out he just makes the wrong or eat
every time.

Yeah, I would say, uh, I appreciate the call.

I do think.

I mean, there's a world where you see more from Gavin. Uh,
But I still think Brock's the main guy.

Yeah, Brock's still the quarterback, and they they put Cutter
Bowley in kind of a tough situation, but at least
they tried to get him some reps at some point
this season. It was just kind of a tough situation
to put him in right there. But I think they're
still use Gavin Wimsen in those packages, especially in the
red zone when they kind of just because he's he
is what has been one of our best runners all season.

I didn't like him going to him so early when
they were rotating I guess those two weeks ago. Uh,
But I just it's crazy that on October twenty fourth,
with a team we're so excited about, we're talking about
Bowlie or Whims that it just shows how disappointing.

It's been very disappointed, no doubt about that. Been very disappointing.

And quarterback play hasn't been great this year. I mean
it's been good, but it hasn't been great.

I just can't talk about that injury part last night
because it had Demi and Chip. That's not good for business. No,
Will Cox is gonna have to get some bel crow.

Yeah, I mean, if we lose those guys, I don't

I was not a good injury.

I feel like Demmy's gonna play. I think he was.

more injuries at that position since it was so thin.

any touches, so you can't afford to lose anybody else.
