Speaker 2 (00:59):
Welcome to Hour two of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by
Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Walter Back Hour number two, take you Sports Radio here
in Louisville, Kentucky. I'm looking forward to the next topic
with Shannon. But first, if you look at the text machine,
Ryan seven seven two seven seven four five two five four,
I'm not sure that giving back that money would would
help Mark. So if it's not gonna help, I wouldn't
do it. I means be better. I just think there

(01:29):
comes a point where people are like, it's not my money,
so it's just play money to them in some ways.
You know what I mean, Because there's a lot of
people listening to this show, and I get this. I'm
one of these people that told me, if you would
pay me one million, I'm in right. So the difference
between nine and eight to them, Ryan is negligible, you know.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
True. Yes, I'm in the boat that I think it
would help my feeling of him and the program if
he made that sacrifice.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Is it too early, Drew to talk bracketologies? Should we
like we shouldn't look at them yet? When? Or are
you at all interested?

Speaker 5 (02:08):
I'm absolutely interested anything about this Kentucky basketball team and
it's potential of winning it all.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
I'm all about it, all right, So then let me
bring up the new bracketology just came out as Kentucky
is a one seed in the West. The West is
in San Francisco. Who's ready for another long drive?

Speaker 4 (02:28):
Or we could fly?

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Yeah, we can fly.

Speaker 4 (02:30):
They may practice on Wednesday, play on Thursday.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
You want to pay for what you can now. Our
two seed is Gonzaga. That would be a nice rematch,
three seed Kansas, four seed UCLA. But of course, what
my eyes would get to is the one seed is
Kentucky playing in Cleveland, the eight to nine matchup Maryland,

(02:54):
and the nine seed.

Speaker 4 (02:55):
Is Saint John's Arkansas ar Kansas.

Speaker 3 (03:01):
Magic Kentucky Arkansas second round game in Cleveland. Wow, what
that atmosphere would be like and what would be on
the line in such a game? Drew like that would
be the most nerve wracking game since Kentucky Louisville in
the Final four?

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Right it would? Would you run for it or embrace it?
Because I I kind of want it. I kind of
want that opportunity. There's also the possibility we hype it
up and.

Speaker 6 (03:28):
Then the mary Maryland and we're talking.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
That would be the funniest. Everybody says Kentucky plays Arkansas.
Shannon and then they lose to Maryland. That would be
that would be the best answer.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
The coach has a history of going out in the
first round. I could see that happening.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Yeah, I do too. All right, so let's talk about
the drones, because I know it's all that Shannon is
reading when he goes I don't. I think this drone
story is fascinating less because of the drones, which I
think are whatever. Then it is is the fact of
something that genuinely worries me, which is no one believes

(04:04):
anything anymore, and the crazier the story, the more people bind.
So last night, the Department of Defense, the FBI, the CIA,
the Federal Aviation Association, they all released a joint statement.
Did you see that, Shannon?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I didn't read it.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
They released a joint statement, and it basically said, look,
there's a ton of drones. What is happening is there
were some commercial drones that were targeted in one area.
That's the first thing people saw. And now people are
seeing things that are normally in the air and just

(04:42):
thinking they're drones, like planes, saddit, like little weather balloons.
Also said that there are some military drones that just
circle America. Anyway, and basically saying we have no reason
to believe that any of these are out of the
order there, but that there's basically some hysteria going on

(05:04):
that after a couple nights where there were more than usual,
now people are saying that they're seeing everything and it's
just normal stuff.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
I take it as just copycat people, people that are
just trying to pile on now totally. I've got a drone.
Now I'm gonna go fly my drone.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
And now that'll scare people too.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Right now, again, there's so many fake articles out there.
I read something about there was drones kind of about
the White House. Did you see that? Like, what's if
that's true? What's that about?

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Let's see. I don't believe that. I think they would
shoot those there.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
The White House, they'd shoot it.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
So that has to be us, though, is what I mean.
It has to be no.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
I but I believe so I don't. I guess part
of me is I don't understand what these people are
scared about. First of all, one thing that needs to happen.
We need to have laws about drones because right now
people can do whatever they want. Would you all agree
we should have rules limiting where drones can go who can.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Fly except I thought there already were.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
Not really commercial drones can go up almost anywhere outside
of I think I saw Pete boodageud say outside of
over an airport or a military base. People can fly
drones anywhere. That to me should be illegal. Yep, I agree.
Do you all agree with that?

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, like you don't want them over like stadium where
the super Bowl or thousand people there.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
I fully grant you that, but right now apparently that
can happen. Congress should but there should be a law regulating.
But don't you think this whole thing, Ryan is mass hysteria,
Like like people are just getting themselves worked up over nothing.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
I think that's a lot to it. Yes, I think
both you guys hit on. I think at once they've
some were cited, other people got in on it. Now
that becomes a thing where you know, they want to
get in on the that the secrety. That's not a word,
the secrety for that guy listener put that one on
the list.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
That's secret secrety. So they want to get on the secret.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
He what of you know, being one of the dudes
that's flying as a drone over some parts of New Jersey.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
That's why you need to stand up. You can't focus
on life exactly.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
This is all happening because you're lying down. Are you
standing up right now?

Speaker 6 (07:18):
He has kind of tilted back. Cows will get you, man.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Sit back up bright Okay in the back of the seat.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Erect all right, I'll fully erect.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
All right.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Turn his mic off again? Okay, I got it, Drew.

Speaker 5 (07:35):
Three minutes, also turning off this fire after he said
that I'm not.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
The mo three minutes, three minute? All right, now, Drew,
do you think it's like a bunch of worry about nothing?

Speaker 5 (07:45):
Oh no, this is absolutely something going on. I think
you all you are blind. I'm not gonna say it's aliens,
but this is not normal behavior. Our next president himself
has even said something's up and he's not going place.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Well, that certainly is the thing that was when.

Speaker 6 (08:00):
You all you all can keep your heads down.

Speaker 3 (08:04):
All right? So what But all right? This is my
problem though, Drek, What is gonna convince you that it's okay?
Like the problem is you just had the Department of Defense,
all of these agencies in charge of this all issue
of statement saying nothing's happening, really that you don't believe that.
So what is it gonna take. I don't think there's

(08:26):
gonna be anything that will convince.

Speaker 6 (08:28):
You convince me.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
What that it's not a big deal.

Speaker 6 (08:32):
Well, I think it's pretty big deal.

Speaker 5 (08:33):
Every news station, in every website, and our next president
are talking about that's not But they're.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
All saying they're all saying that it's not anything that
will hurt us. They're just saying there's a lot of drones.

Speaker 6 (08:48):
They've said more than that. I'm not gonna act like
a crazy person.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
What if they said, I.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Turned three minutes was up?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
That was a minute and a half.

Speaker 4 (09:01):
I said, here's one story I saw, Okay, I'll tell
me the story. Yeah, that there were some nuclear warheads
that the Ronald Reagan administration hid in New Jersey and
they're trying to find them.

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Who's they?

Speaker 4 (09:13):
I just some wormhole I went down on.

Speaker 3 (09:16):
They that are trying to find them, the secrety people.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Maybe, yeah, maybe.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
If you understand this, I want to just do technology
for a second. You know, there are satellites out there
that have been up for years that can see like
on the ground with perfect clarity. They don't need drones.
There are already satellites that can see everything. Like the

(09:42):
idea that they need a drone above your house to
see what's happening in your yard, they can already do
that from the from the space right. So any country
that would want to find the Ronald Reagan nuclear warheads,
they can already do that. They don't need a drone
to do that.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
Okay, have you seen the video of the two drones
that go up to look at this UFO and it
shoots down the drones?

Speaker 6 (10:14):
Crazy shot down here.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
I also saw the guy who posted look at this
drone that was shot down and it was a model
of a Star Wars aircraft that somebody was taking to
a show.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
I will say it is hard to follow because the
Internet is so reckless that there are a ton of
fake videos, like ninety videos about the drones right now.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
So I guess what I'm asking is what are you
worried about? Like what Ryan just said is the kind
of thing people are worried about. But they can already
do all of those things, like everything, like everything spot
on Earth. You think about Google Earth, you can see everything.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Yeah, it's not live though, it's just it is for
these foreign countries.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
But if this is just everyday things, then why are
there so many meetings about it. Mayor's commenting about how.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
Because they are because they're having all these people call
and freak out, and they've got to figure out something
to say. They can't be like me and go you
people are idiots. They have to like try to I mean,
why is Trump talking about it because he wants to
be looked as the savior when he takes O.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Would you feel different if this was happening over Lexington
instead of New Jersey.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
If I looked up and saw a drone over my house,
I wouldn't like it, granted, But at the same time,
unless we pass laws making that illegal, people can do it.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
The drone can just come up to your window and look,
they can't.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Come up to your window. But there is Again, I
heard Pete Bootage just say people are allowed to fly
drones as long as they're so high in the air,
and it can't be over federal air it can't be
over airports or like military facilities, but they can and
in my opinion, chanin and don't get me wrong, it

(12:02):
shouldn't be like that.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, Yeah, they've got to regulate it better than what
they have.

Speaker 3 (12:07):
I agree it should be regulated, but Ryan, I think
a lot of it is it's like when you go
to a restaurant. When you go to a restaurant, you
have no idea what the preparation of the food is like. Correct, true,
we have no idea. We just trust it. Right now,
everything you're worried about is already in the sky if

(12:30):
they want, if the Russians or the Iranians want to,
they could look in your house today. So what are
you worried about? It's already there.

Speaker 6 (12:41):
If it's sorry, therese everyone talking about it.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Because they're talking about it, because people like you are
talking about it, and it's like it fuels the story,
it makes you click.

Speaker 4 (12:49):
Right are they talking about because they can see these drones?
We can't see the.

Speaker 3 (12:53):
Satellite and that you may be right about that, But
just because we can see it doesn't make any more
dangerous than the stuff we can't see. Actually, I would
argue the stuff we can't see, Shannon is more worried
than what we can see.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Probably right about that, but I don't like it. We've
got to figure out what's going on with all these
drones aliens.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
I hate being the dude that takes up for the establishment.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
You just trust them.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
But if the Department, but I guess my point is bad.
I guess my point is if all of the federal
agencies are telling you it's okay, what else is it
going to take? Like? What would convince you? Otherwise? What
Joe Rogan like, what's it going to take? You're not
going to be convinced by anything. Did you see the statement?

(13:42):
Did you see the statement that was the release last night?

Speaker 6 (13:46):
I did not What did it say?

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I just told you what it said. It said that
these drones are There was a bunch of them that
were commercial over an area, and now pretty much what
everyone is seeing are things that are always in the sky.
It's just people are paying more attention to them.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Looking for those nuclear warheads. What those commercial.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
There?

Speaker 7 (14:09):
You go.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Like anybody's buying it's the Reagan nuclear warhors.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
But but nobody's ever gonna buy anything anymore. They're just
gonna walk around all day and go, yeah, well, that's
what we need is everybody believe in what they believe.

Speaker 4 (14:26):
Get some aluminum foil, put it over my head.

Speaker 8 (14:29):
TV.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
You all sund like my grandmother who would always go.
They're saying. Well, if that's what they're saying, then that's good.
Don Franklin. We have year end savings, thousands of new
and pre own vehicles. No matter your situation, Don Franklin
has the tools and experience to help you find the
perfect vehicle for your getaway. When the Russians come with
over five thousand vehicles and twenty seven dealerships across the
blue Grass, Don Franklin Otto is there for you. It's

(14:51):
Don Franklin Auto. Twenty five models are in now. It's
Don Franklin Auto. Driven by Family. We'll take a break.
Very backs, kissar, welcome back, take you sports radio. If
you want to see the conspiracy theories fly, just go
to the text machine right now. I love it. Oh

(15:14):
my goodness.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
What do you want to read it? You want to
give me a sample of what you got there?

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Well, they're all over them. Okay, But one person writes, Matt,
you're covering up for the establishment because you're in the
monkey bread. I really think you should be smarter than
trusting the government. It's not about that. I don't trust
the government on everything, But if you don't want me
to trust the Department of Defense, who do you want
me to trust? Seriously? What organization is more trustworthy to

(15:40):
you than them? Read it? Okay, yeah, for sure, let's
trust Reddit. That's a good idea. I'm not saying I
totally trust the Department Defense, but I trust them more
than whatever I see on X, which could be fake
and probably is most of the time.

Speaker 4 (15:59):
Maybe they're making the stands, are trying to calm us down.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Again in all seriousness, Like, I'm not even kidding, what
are you worried about happening?

Speaker 2 (16:09):
Have you never read War of the World?

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Yes, and it's fake? What are you What are you
worried about? In all seriousness, Let's say this is the
worst thing you can think of. What are you worried
about happening? Besides it's just weird? What are you worried
about the world blowing up? Okay, but what does that mean?
The world can blow up now, Russia could hit a
button and the world would blow up. So you can't
worry about that. That can already happen. So what are

(16:34):
you worried about?

Speaker 5 (16:35):
If you could, we should still check on things, make
sure it's not about to happen.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I bet I bet they do check on it. I
don't think you checking on it is going to fix it.

Speaker 6 (16:42):
Well, I'm not checking on it.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
The current drones, I bet. I would bet you the
imagine check bet the American government is already checking on that.
So what else?

Speaker 6 (16:50):
That's what this could be.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
So do you think American government has drones in other countries?

Speaker 3 (16:55):
Of course we do. And but we don't even need
the drones. We have satellites. We have high powered satellites
that can see on the ground any spot in the
world right now, and we've had him for years. We
don't need the.

Speaker 2 (17:11):
Drums, yeah, Ryan, we don't needed the.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Drums, right, yeah, right.

Speaker 6 (17:17):
We need an old guy McDonald's to catch the shooter.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Because he was very smart. Tyler, what's up time, Tyler?

Speaker 9 (17:26):
Go ahead, Hey guys, not on the topic of drnes.
But so you guys talking yesterdy about people who had famous,
big performances against Louisville. Why if he had time to
play super quick card killer trivia.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
Well to give it a shot. Go ahead, Okay, So.

Speaker 9 (17:44):
Lamart Butler obvious had a big game, and you know
that like they keep track of pras like in the NBA,
like point three bounds and assists. He had forty two
combined point three browns and assists since the cow Era.

Speaker 3 (17:56):
That is second to who in the Louisville game or
just overall.

Speaker 9 (18:02):
Yes, just in the Louisville game.

Speaker 3 (18:05):
Who would have had the most points, rebounds and assist
added together in the cal Era in the Louisville game. Yes, uh,
Antonio reeves close.

Speaker 9 (18:19):
I'll give you one hint. It was no one you
all mentioned yesterday. Kind of typical to this person's personality. Understated,
but had a huge game against.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
Louisville Michael Kid Gilchrist.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
That's it. That's it, that's it.

Speaker 9 (18:29):
That is correct. Franklin twenty four and twenty four points,
nineteen rebounds against.

Speaker 3 (18:37):
He had nineteen rebounds in that game.

Speaker 9 (18:40):
Wow, people forget about that had twenty four and fourteen
when he played against him. But MKG went off against
the Cars in the first MATA.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
That's amazing, A good info. I appreciate it. That'll be
my call of the day. There you go. I didn't
realize that. That's that is amazing. Drew twenty four nineteen
for MKG.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
I remember the nineteen and then he scored a lot
of points. That's why I remember that. Guess it was
an outstanding game from him.

Speaker 3 (19:06):
Yeah, Bill, go ahead, Bill?

Speaker 7 (19:09):
Yeah, hey man, Hey, Well, first off, the greatest comedy
line you said today is if you can't trust the
Department of Defense, what can you trust. I'm not saying
you don't trust everything you say, but look at the
last twenty years world on fire?

Speaker 3 (19:22):
But who would you trust? But who would you trust
over the Department? I'm not I'm not saying trust the Department.
I'm saying to you, what entity or organization do you
trust more than them?

Speaker 7 (19:34):
Oh? I'd say there's uh give me if you can't
tell me what I don't at the end of day,
I don't think you should trust any They're all right.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
So if we're not going to trust anything, then I
don't know how you walk through your day.

Speaker 7 (19:49):
Well, I'm not saying you don't trust anything. I'm saying,
but you don't trust any I can't. I don't think
you can trust any one hundred percent of what they say.
And in regard to the I.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Agree, but I don't. But when we're talking about just
just to get my point, I agree with you don't
trust anything. I'm with you.

Speaker 7 (20:04):
Certainly either side whatever side out you're on.

Speaker 3 (20:07):
But but but when it comes to something like this,
I don't know how you can reasonably trust anyone more
than the Department of Defense. These people on social media
and the news media. Do you really think they have
any idea what they're talking about?

Speaker 7 (20:25):
Oh, I think there may be aspects of it that
there that that are correct. But at the end of
the day, so with a drone, if you have a drone,
you fly it up in the area they know exactly.
It has to lock into a GPS on your phone,
has to have location on before you take off. And
there are restrictions on drones. You can't just go if
you're anywhere near an airport, certain restrictions. I think you

(20:45):
can only go up to a certain level, maybe one
hundred feet. Yeah, it's a GPS on. Yeah, So they're
all But if you look, there's legislation right now that
regarding drones that I'm not arguing there shouldn't be some law,
new laws written. You can look at these wars and
you cry and see what these drones can do. I'm
not arguing against it. But if you don't think these
are our drones, these aren't UFOs, these aren't ran it's

(21:08):
probably what I'm saying though, Yeah, so there are there
are legislation that they're trying to pass right now, If
you don't think that they're not smart enough to go,
let's whip everybody up into a friend to make it
a lot easier pushing this to aught.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
That's im that's the same thing you and I are
saying this.

Speaker 7 (21:26):
Right, but the same people that told you to wear
a cloth mask and stand six feet apart.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
This is not a COVID vaccine. I'm just saying. Ultimately,
his conclusion is the same as mine, Shinnon, which is
the getting worried about it to me is ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
Yeah, I mean, there's nothing we can do about it.

Speaker 3 (21:45):
There's nothing we can do about it. And if it's
not Aliens, it's not a ran. And I'll make even
bigger prediction. In two weeks, there won't be one person
talking about this. Yeah, And we'll move this frenzy. We
will move away because that's what we do. We get
at really angry about something and then we move to
something else. I'm not going to Bobb and Jamestown on this.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
You just want them to sit on hold for the
rest of the show.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
I'm not gonna do you think of all topics, do
you think this is the one, but.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
This is called five hundred and seventy four?

Speaker 3 (22:15):
Is Bill? Go ahead? Bill? Yes, sir, go ahead? Bill?
All right?

Speaker 7 (22:25):
No?

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Bill deston going out jown, Jamestown's dustin.

Speaker 7 (22:30):
A first time? Won't time? Who?

Speaker 3 (22:31):
What's up?

Speaker 7 (22:34):
Oh?

Speaker 8 (22:34):
They just need to get contained to the shoes, the
drones down.

Speaker 10 (22:36):
They'll be fine.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
She I was ill even if I was the only one.
Go ahead.

Speaker 8 (22:44):
I was calling the the podcast was on last night
and the wife was asking me about what was going
on in re Areena and I just bought tickets from
my boy. It's our first time going. We're from western Kentuck.
You don't get that way very often. And she said,
what's gonna happen? Because the way you act in the list,
you're going to jail. And I so, I guess I'm
gonna have to call the post game show and get
Mad to come bail me out.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
I'll bail you out. I'll bail you out. So are
you gonna stand during the game?

Speaker 8 (23:10):
I mean, I'll I'll stand up when it gets rowdy
and you know, have a good time.

Speaker 7 (23:14):
It's just Bannerbilt.

Speaker 8 (23:15):
So hopefully we win and there's no problem. But uh yeah,
I'll stand.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
So come by and see us before. All right, If
you don't get to go.

Speaker 8 (23:25):
Very much, I will.

Speaker 7 (23:27):
I will.

Speaker 8 (23:28):
I've been there one time many years ago, and you opened.
I'll stop by again.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Thank you, sir, appreciate it. We'll take a break, be
right back. I want to talk a little football in return.
It's KSR.

Speaker 6 (23:38):
TJ.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Smith Personal injury Attorney.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
Call TJ. He'll make them pay now.

Speaker 2 (23:43):

(24:11):
The text are still insane.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
Shon, you're gonna get them all day.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
I'm fine with it. I like reading, like like the
thing is about insane text. People are still like, they're
still nice. I like all of you. I like ninety
nine crazier In some ways, the better this, Shannon is
the I'm not saying this is true, but this is
the kind of explanation, Shannon, I can believe. Okay, the BBC, which,
by the way, I read the BBC more for news

(24:41):
now than anything, because I think it's more objective than
most American outlets says that there were some radioactive material
in New Jersey that went missing two weeks ago, and
that British intelligence believes the drones are American drones looking
for the material that went missing. Okay, all right, I'm

(25:03):
not saying that's true, but that's an explanation that could
make sense to me.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Why wouldn't they just come out and tell us that.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Because they probably would want people then they would start
freaking out about what the radioactive material was.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
I guess the Belleville, New Jersey mayor had said that
and in press conference earlier this morning.

Speaker 3 (25:20):
There you go. That makes sense to me. Not saying
that's it, I don't know, but that is an explanation
that makes some sense to me, And you may be right, Shannon,
maybe they should just say that.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
Right because if we don't worry about the radioactive material,
we're worried about something else.

Speaker 3 (25:35):
Well, that's what I'm saying. So you're worried, then everybody
else start worrying about the radioactive material because we are
a freak out culture.

Speaker 2 (25:43):
But at least at least we know what it is
instead of just guessing, what does that do for you? You
know what it is?

Speaker 3 (25:48):
Okay, So now you know what it is. Do you
feel better? Yeah? But aren't you gonna worry about the
radioactive material?

Speaker 7 (25:53):
No?

Speaker 2 (25:53):
I know what it is. It's fine, we'll take care
of So you trust you're scared of is the unknown?

Speaker 3 (26:00):
I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (26:00):
Yeah, so when people know, they're not going to be
scared about it.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
To some extent, I agree with you on that, but
I also wish I sound like such a simple person,
go and trust.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
The trust establishment.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
But you do have to try. If you don't trust
people in the establishment, you can't leave your house.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
I try not to. If I did the show from
all I would fair enough.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
Did you watch Ryan the Did you see the end
of the Marshall Vermont soccer game last night?

Speaker 4 (26:30):
I saw the highlights. I didn't watch it, but I
did see the highlights.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
It was kind of awesome.

Speaker 4 (26:35):
It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (26:35):
Vermont has never won a national championship in anything, any sport.
They're in Vermont. Like, when I say Vermont, what comes
to your Mindrew? Give me the first thing when I say.

Speaker 6 (26:45):
Vermont, Oh, they don't have a taco bell?

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Is that really? Is that true?

Speaker 6 (26:49):
At one time? They might now, but that was my
fact years ago.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Okay, Shannon, first thing you think of when I say
Vermont snow?

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Snow, Bryan, Yeah, our trip up north, we went through
it and it was nothing there but snow.

Speaker 3 (27:00):
I'm gonna now say soccer because they were in extra
time and the goal was exciting. The dude like he
went around him and the goalie came out and he scored.
And the way people went crazy was the game in Vermont?
Why were there so many Vermont people?

Speaker 8 (27:15):
There?

Speaker 3 (27:16):
Was that Where the game was?

Speaker 4 (27:19):
I'm not for sure where it was, but I think
I saw this was like Vermont's first ever even game
in a national title game.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
If you haven't seen the video, you gotta go see it.

Speaker 4 (27:28):
It's awesome.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Like it's what's great about sports, Ryan, fans losing their
mind at Vermont where they'll probably never win anything again
and getting to win.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
A national Do you think those fans were sitting down. No,
the police officers were threatened to throw those guys in jail.

Speaker 3 (27:45):
I do not think it was it was you saw it, Ryan.
It was a great scene last night.

Speaker 4 (27:51):
It was cool, and you said, that's what's the that's
the good part of sports, especially collegiate sports. You get
those moments like that for this school that'll maybe never
have a moment like this ever. Again with don't get.

Speaker 5 (28:00):
Mini soccer walk offs like that. Yeah, it was a
true walk off in soccer to win the National chick and.

Speaker 3 (28:06):
They don't do that in a lot. Marshall, by the way,
is I don't know if if people know this in
men's soccer, that's our rival, Ryan, we're in the same
conference and they're kind of our rival, and they went
to the championship with.

Speaker 4 (28:19):
The championship game. Good run for them too.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Yeah. So who's up next? Oh? Actually it let's go
to Matt.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Actually, Bob and jamestowns.

Speaker 3 (28:26):
Up, but I think Matt is the next one on
the lists. Go ahead, Matt, can you hear me? Yes?

Speaker 11 (28:34):
I wanted to call out another caller Ko. He was
a gentleman that used to call in a couple of
times during the summer, and he had some bangers.

Speaker 6 (28:41):
Back to back.

Speaker 11 (28:41):
I'd love to hear to Little OL's down rant if
you're out there listening. And then a question with Ohio
State coming up, is there any more news on the
Bradshawks that he's playing.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
I think I think it was apparently some sort of
domestic something. Then I don't know if it got dismissed,
but the school he's back playing now, so I think
he will play in that game on Saturday.

Speaker 9 (29:08):
Gotcha, That's all I got.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
Appreciate Christmas, Merry Christmas to you as well. Did you
say happy Christmas? He said Happy Christmas?

Speaker 2 (29:16):
Happy Mary?

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Same thing. Do people say happy.

Speaker 4 (29:18):
Christmas, Happy Holidays? At Merry Christmas combined? You get them
both in one.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
I don't think I've ever heard anyone say happy Christmas.

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Ever, but we'll start it, do it.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
It is Christmas, Bob and Jamestown.

Speaker 12 (29:39):
Go ahead, Bob, Season's greetings man, Mary, Christmas. You know
all this excitement about drones, Well what about all this
excitement college basketball postseason bracketology. I mean we haven't even
gotten into conference playing now. I mean, it's ridiculous about

(30:00):
drone theory. I mean, there are rules on drones. Anything
above a ounces you have to have a license. There
are strict regulations on them. And then as far as
this business up in New Jersey.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
It probably is.

Speaker 12 (30:16):
I mean, if there's some nuclear radioactive material, you.

Speaker 3 (30:19):
Know, loose in the community, it is could be a threat.
There you go.

Speaker 10 (30:25):
I'm going to say, there you go.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
It's always gonna say thank you, Bob, Merry Christmas. As
far as Bob calls calls ghosh in, that was pretty normal.
If you're ranking Bob calls, it was certainly one of them.
That was one of them. I don't know how he
transitioned from drones to bracketology. I didn't totally get that
connection right there.

Speaker 2 (30:45):
He was just waiting on you to hang up on him.
I think he was covering as much ground as.

Speaker 3 (30:49):
Getting as much as he could in cat Daddy, how
are you.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
Hey? Thanks Matt, I appreciate it. Uh two things real quick.
One of the Moniker's catches shade on your show there
and uh time indeed to explain. Yeah, Uh, I'm just
an old retired basketball coach and been listening to you
for about ten years. And my grandkids call me g daddy,
and they said, what are you going to do in retirement,

(31:15):
and I said, I'm gonna sit on the boat and
call in to KSR, like mile from Jamestown every day.
And so I didn't realize how cringey it sounded until
you started thinking that I'm a hooker instead of a
You're different.

Speaker 3 (31:29):
It's a little different when it's like you're just saying it,
and that it's just the nickname for college kids. It's
a little much.

Speaker 7 (31:38):
Yeah, I don't understand, but I thought it was cue
because my five year old grandson thought of it. Number two.
When cal first came to Kentucky, we always said, he
knows what it's like to sit in that chair. I'd
like to say when you watch Pope and the postgame
shows and the things he's done off the court and
buy an ice cream and everything. I'd like for us

(31:58):
to refer to coach Pope is he knows what it's
like to walk in those shoes.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
It's the truth.

Speaker 7 (32:03):
I appreciated Base.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
Nice to hear from you. I appreciate the call, Drew.
I was thinking, we talked about this the other day,
and can you think of one thing. Let's say you
were Pope's pr googer. You were his public relations. Is
there anything you would tell him to do differently? Can
you think of anything?

Speaker 6 (32:23):
I really can't.

Speaker 5 (32:24):
I think we'll eventually get to a point where we
get some popes beat going on. There's a little everything
is super and beautiful and perfect. When he talks right now,
that's exciting. That might get a little stale over Tom,
but that's me niitpicking thing he's doing right now, I really,
I mean, he beat Duke in Louisville already. What more
do you want from the guy? There's top four in

(32:45):
the country, number one in the bracketology. Even though Bob
and Jamestown doesn't like it, He's doing everything he needs
to do. At the Sunday last spring, Mitch Barnhart was
talking about checking boxes. He just keeps checking off more
boxes each time he gets an opportunity.

Speaker 3 (32:58):
Can you think of anything right at all?

Speaker 4 (33:01):
Keep gassing your wife's car is probably the only thing
to make sure he does.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
I mean, he gives you nuggets like he like. You know,
Cal used to make fun of us basketball Bennies. Pope
embraces it, and he talks about things like championship chest
and he doesn't just go see what I did, see
what I did you see what I did? Look at that?
Do you see what I did? Instead, he goes, we
have championship chests, we teach them, blah blah. Our fans,
I think love that. Ryan love it.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
And then in fact with you know the little tibbitts
we see halftime, you know, talking to the coaches, the players,
you know, what are you seeing? You know, trying to
make some coaching adjustments and things like that, something we've
not seen in a long time. Yeah, I think that's
another thing that the fans love about him.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
It is the most wonderful time of the year. You
got hoops, you got football, you got hockey, you got
it all. Going on playoff is this weekend. Some awesome games.
Tennessee going to Ohio State. They're now saying there maybe
up to forty percent of the fans there are Tennessee fans.
That's crazy. But you can bet it all at DraftKings.
Bet five dollars to get one hundred and fifty bonus
bets if you win. Download the Draft Kings sportsbook app.

(34:07):
You use the code KSR Happy Holidays from DraftKings. The
crown is yours. If you have a gaming problem called
one hundred game where bonus bets expire one hundred and
sixty eight hours after issue. Let's go to DKNG dot
co slash Audio. We'll take a break and come back.
Final segment. It's KSR. So apparently Happy Christmas is a

(34:31):
British thing. Yeah, I didn't know that. Did you know
that Happy Christmas was a British thing?

Speaker 2 (34:37):
I didn't know it was specifically British, but I guess
i'd heard it in this song before.

Speaker 3 (34:41):
Yeah, didn't know that. One person writes Matt. The police
officer who came inside and said to the fan they
should sit down was actually was actually a Lexington Metro
Police Department sergeant. He has no authority to do that
inside rupp Aerna unless it's an emergency emergency situation. He

(35:02):
is there for traffic control. It was a mistake. What
do you think about that?

Speaker 8 (35:07):
Right?

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Yeah? I mean I know that that he've out of
that guy. I don't want to get into it, but
you know his stuff is out there. And if if
what you read earlier earlier in the show about.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Well you can say that's what you want to say.
You want to say he's a Louis Ovel fan, right,
But that's not I don't think. I don't think that
has anything to do with it. But he is a
traffic guy, right like that, like he's out there that
actually is not his normal. I don't know what I'm
talking about, but beat or whatever you would say for
during those games.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
Yeah, And you know, while we're discussing it, you know,
there are people who have written in who said he
never actually threatened to arrest the guy, but he did
say something like, well, if you don't do it, you
can spend the night in the jail or something.

Speaker 3 (35:50):
Well, what does that mean if it doesn't sounds like
a threat to me? I mean, I don't know, how
would you interpret that if it wasn't.

Speaker 4 (35:56):
I don't know. I was just passing along with some
people said he.

Speaker 3 (35:58):
Never I mean, what does that mean? Besides okay, is
there a difference between I will arrest you and you'll
spend the night in jail? Like does he is? Like
is he just gonna should go there voluntarily? Like what
what's the what's the difference?

Speaker 4 (36:11):
I don't I don't know. I guess he said something
like that you can sit down and you can spend
the night in jail one or the other sounds like
an ultimatum.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
True, that sounds like me to be arrested.

Speaker 5 (36:21):
It would seem like, Yeah, if I'm on the other end,
I'm interpreting that as a threat to be arrested for sure.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (36:28):
I don't think the Louisville thing matters at all. It's
a fun plot twist for people on the internet. I
don't think if anything, he's just surprised that people are
at a basketball game standing up. If he's watching Louisville,
he's probably just a together what is this?

Speaker 6 (36:41):
What's going on in here?

Speaker 3 (36:42):
One person rides Matt. I tend to agree with you
that people overreact on things, But I'm amazed how much
you will trust the government. So here we go again. Uh,
you should have known by now that no matter who
is in charge, people a lot of course then, but
I don't understand what people are trusting. If like, if
you don't trust the government, who do you trust? You trust?

(37:05):
You know the THEO Vaughn podcast, Shannon do you trust? KSR?
Do you trust? I mean, like, I love people who
say think for yourself. I'm for that, but like almost
all of our opinions come from somebody else. I hope
people know that, like, I hope you know, like you
don't just wake up organically and have a million thoughts.

(37:26):
You're reading them from somewhere. Do you trust them? Like
on some point, you can't get along in society, Shannon,
unless you trust people. There's no other way to do it.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Yeah, it's just picking now which entity you do trust
is harder than that.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
You shouldn't really trust any of them. But at the
same time, there are some basic things we have to
agree on or society will collapse. And I think I
worry that we're like not even agreeing on those things anymore.
But that's a different topic. Debbie, go ahead, Debbie, Hey.

Speaker 13 (37:57):
How are you guys?

Speaker 3 (37:58):
Joining good? How are you?

Speaker 13 (38:02):
I'm fine?

Speaker 7 (38:03):
Thanks.

Speaker 13 (38:04):
I was going to say, when you guys were playing
talking about that all the time, there's against U of
L played well. I think Rex Chackman. I think he
had thirty five.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Yeah, I think we mentioned him kind of at the end,
but he had a great game.

Speaker 7 (38:18):
Ok.

Speaker 13 (38:19):
Well. The other real quick thing was that I don't
know if you remember that game with Isaac Humphreys where
he after a play, yeah like went dead. Yeah, found
that ball and and it didn't go above his head.
But anyway, that was that was my husband. He's an
official in high school. He said that was Pat Adams

(38:42):
calling that thing to kind of you know, it doesn't call,
which really I wasn't necessarily and changed the whole dynamic
of the game.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
You're exactly. I did not realize. I appreciate the call, Debby.
I did not remember that was Pat Adams, did you Ryan, No.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
I didn't remember that, and not only changed the dynamic
of the game, changed how we view Isaac Humphrey, that's
what we remember.

Speaker 3 (39:02):
About, also changed our seeding in the tournament. Yeah, you
remember because Texas A and M got a seed higher
than us. They got they became like a I'm trying
to think.

Speaker 4 (39:12):
They were at three and we were a four.

Speaker 6 (39:14):
We were a.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Three and we were a four I think or something
that year changed that, you're exactly right, changed everything on
that team.

Speaker 4 (39:22):
We talked about Rex and he's dunk. We did. We
didn't mention it was over Kenny Payne. The poster Dunkey
had over Kenny Payne in that game.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
That's one of the more iconic Kentucky dunks. Really time, Terry,
what's up, Terry?

Speaker 7 (39:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 10 (39:35):
I can still see Cal walking down there facetiously clapping
his hands.

Speaker 14 (39:39):
Way to go, Pat, Great job, Pat.

Speaker 3 (39:42):
Uh.

Speaker 7 (39:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 14 (39:45):
Any of you guys can answer this, but Drew in particular,
because I know Drew's like me, he likes to listen
to the callin chokes. I called last night. I just
wanted Drew's take on it. Did he do you think
I came in too hot on the Amari body language question?
And did you think Coach Pope answered it in a

(40:05):
way that he acknowledged that he might have a body language?

Speaker 6 (40:09):
Can you summarize it for us? I didn't hear the
whole show.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Yeah, so I heard it, Terry. Actually you said something
like you kind of criticized Amar's body language, and Pope
sort of acknowledged it and said it was something they
worked on. I didn't think you came in too hot.
You were a little hot, but that's just you.

Speaker 6 (40:26):
But he did.

Speaker 3 (40:27):
But I do think Pope sort of acknowledged that, especially
in that game, he thought Amari let the play before
get to him too much and had some body language issues.

Speaker 10 (40:37):
And quickly you're off take. When we're talking about defense,
and especially the last two games, Colgate had ten threes.
Louisville had fourteen did you think some of that is
just like you can't cover the whole floor some of
it sometimes you just gotta hope they missed well.

Speaker 3 (40:54):
Peope addressed that yesterday. I appreciate the call. Drew Pope said, Look,
we looked at Louisville coming in. They were a poor
three point shooting team. In the first half, we decided
to give them some they made them. But then in
the second half, he said, we put our hands in
their face and they just went in. And he was like,
there's not a lot you can do about.

Speaker 5 (41:13):
That collecting that data. I mean, you know, it's we're
still getting used to this change. But he obviously does
a lot of scouting and game planning, and Louisville it
was a poor three point shooting team. It was like
twenty six points something coming into the game, even though
they took thirty attempts. So, as the caller pointed out,
I mean, you want them to take low percentage shots,
and it just happened it was three pointers. Unfortunately they
were going in on Saturday.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
Yeah, Pope said, in the second half he believed Ryan
they only took two open threes. One of them was
the lefty guy who made it. Coming off the screen
and the other one the guy missed, and so he
was like, I you know, he said he felt like
we contested most of the ones that they made.

Speaker 4 (41:51):
You know, that's the second time in a week. You know,
the Gonzaga game. They gave Gonzaga a lot of wide
open threes, but that would find out maybe that was
by design. I think they had the same philosophy for Louisville. Look,
they take a lot, but they don't make a lot.
We're gonna give them that.

Speaker 3 (42:04):
Yeah, and it clearly you know it. We ended up
winning the game, So it worked out all right. So
starting tomorrow is our Bowl Championship Challenge. Here's we're gonna
do it a little differently this year. I'll explain more
of the details tomorrow. But if you go to the
bar between Wednesday and Saturday, you'll pick the winners of
the playoff games coming this weekend, and we're gonna end

(42:25):
up giving us over eight thousand dollars away at ks Bar.
So the first way to enter will be to be
there sometime between Wednesday and Saturday, and you'll pick the games,
the playoff games Ryan that will be taking place this weekend.

Speaker 4 (42:41):
That's an awesome prize. That's maybe the biggest we've given
away for one of these contents, because.

Speaker 3 (42:45):
We're gonna give away money in the two semi final
games and then give away money in the finals game
as well, so you have three chances to win a
big old pot of money. So thank you all very much.
We'll be back at the bar tomorrow. Don't stand up
and uh no drones. This is KSR I
