Number two Kentucky Sports Radio, heyf I'm nine two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. Let's try this again. You
are getting distracted by the bourbon. Welcome back to Kentucky
Sports Radio. Here we go here, live and bespoken spirits.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
See, that's the thing. You start giving them bourbon. Stay.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
You know, by the second hour, things start to get
a little shady. You were thinking theory bourbon would make
him louder. Yeah, but it makes them louder. They're having
conversations with Ron. I'm Ron, I'm gonna stop giving you compliments.
If you don't get him to stop talking. We're doing
the show, all right. Hey, f I've nine two eight
oh twenty two eighty seven. The text machine is seven
seven two seven seven four five two five four.

Speaker 4 (01:40):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
By the way, Aristotle was the first person to say
the hole is greater than some of the parts. So
if he if he, if he has a problem with it,
he needs to call Aristotle sewing. You though it was
not mean, it came up with it. I did, just
completely took it from Aristotle. All right, let's do a
couple quick non UK things. First, we got back on
in London after I complained about them pulling this, and

(02:03):
then turns out the London people had new ownership didn't
know that their station had pulled it, got it back.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
On it, So now we are.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I think they heard Kentucky Joe. They wanted to focus
on the music, right, That's what it was.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
That's why we had Joe's calls to get back to
focusing on the Can you.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Imagine that they just put us back on the air
right when he got ready to sing that song?

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Probably wouldn't have been the best thing in the world.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Have you, Shannon, do you know who Danielle Collins is?

Speaker 4 (02:30):
I do not.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Does anybody in this room know who Daniel Collins is?
A couple of you do not. The book I mean,
is he She may be named Daniel Collins as well.
I don't think Joan anyway, what I'm talking about this
tennis player Danielle Collins. Okay, you know who she is?
Everybody you know? Everybody needs to when this show's over,

(02:52):
go on at least for two more days, TikTok or
whatever and see Daniel Carr. She's an American tennis player. She's
playing in the Australian Open, all right. I don't know why,
for some reason the Australians don't like her.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I don't know if she did.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Something sometimes, but like they don't like her in Australia,
so they boo her, etc.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
During the matches.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
She wins a match to beat someone and when it's over,
you know, I don't know if you see tennis players,
they wave to the crowd. They wave to the crowd
and they all boo her. Now this is tennis, like
people don't. First of all, very few people get booed
in tennis. It doesn't happen a lot. She I guess

(03:35):
gets the boo rather than be rattle. She looks at
the crowd, takes her hand, puts it on her lips
like she's gonna kiss, and then.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Just smacks her ball.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Love it.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
And she looks at the crowd. You gotta see this video.
They're booing her and she basically gives a.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Kiss my ass right to the crowd and that makes
her booer more.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
She keeps getting it up.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Then they do the interview and they're like, what do
you think of I have the crowd booing you? And
she's like, I'd like to thank you all for paying
for my vacation here and she becomes like a professional wrestler.
This woman is thirty one years old. She is talking trash.
She plays again tonight. Okay, they're gonna be booing her
off the court. But I I've heard of her, but

(04:20):
really didn't know much about her. But Shannon, Now I
think I have my favorite women's tennis player. Anybody who
will look at the crowd and tell them to kiss
their tail with them all booing each other, it's pretty awesome.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
That makes two of us. I have no idea who
Daniel Collins is, but now she's my favorite because I
think she just made tennis great again.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
She you know, you need to watch herself. But she
plays tonight, Drew and I and it'll be while we're
all asleep because Australia's got stupid time. But nevertheless, one
I'm gonna be pulling for.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
Yeah, I saw her do it one.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
It's good.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
We finally have some Americans making some noise in tennis.
It's yeah, we're good at tennis and the women's but
that's one of the all time just crowd hill turns
really in any sport. I mean you don't see that
in like a rowdy basketball now, a little back and forth,
but in tennis, you get a moment with the mic,
you get that whole thing. Afterwards and for her to.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Get it was very professional wrestling, Like I was expecting
her to do a d X chop out there, like
I loved it.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You need to want. I feel like you would appreciate
her ride. She's she's ready to go.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
It's crazy to hear this story because, as we just said,
you know, tennis etiquette is, you know, you're all proper
and nice. It was not proper, and it makes me
feel like she is maybe gonna draw some attention to
now to United States women's tennis.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
So why are they booing her to begin with?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
I don't know. I'm not sure what happened.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Proud is the jerk, right, Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
There was something a couple of years ago something, and
then she she was like she wasn't gonna play, but
then she entered. Maybe she took an Australian spot or something.
I don't know what it was, but I.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Love her attitude regardless for.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Whatever it was. She uh, you know, she ended up
making it out all right. So the other thing, again,
this is kind of a Shannon Drew story. Have you
seen the story about the chat GPT boyfriend? You know this,
but I'm intrigued in New York Times another article that
I would read just for kind of the weirdness of it,

(06:18):
because I read it and it kind of freaked me out.
New York Times has a story about this woman. Apparently
there are a lot of people doing this, but they
focused on this one woman who her husband travels a
lot for work and she gets lonely, so she signed
up for chat GPT and she basically, through chat p GPT,

(06:40):
asked for an AI boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I'm I'm not kidding you. You need to read this story.
It's wild. She signed up for an AI boyfriend and
she says she has.

Speaker 4 (06:53):
Whoa spoken the spoken poster, almost felling Ryan's out there.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
She says that she fell in love with the AI
boyfriend because the AI boyfriend would write her immediately.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Can someone please help with this so Drew can do this?

Speaker 2 (07:11):
She would she would write the AI boyfriend, He would
respond immediately. He would say all the things her husband
did not say to her. He called her whatever, like
whatever pet name she wanted, he.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Called, etc.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
And she said she found herself falling in love with
him and their marriage, which was apparently on the rocks.
She says, has been saved because the chat GPT boyfriend,
which she knows is not real, does I'm not kidding you,
does the things that her real life husband won't do.

Speaker 3 (07:46):
So then they besides the.

Speaker 4 (07:48):
Physical thing, well at least says the right things.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
So then they interview her husband in this story, and
her husband says, yeah, I'm good with it because it's
not real. They went to another couple, same thing happened
with the woman and they divorced because the husband became
jealous of the chat GPT boyfriend.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Man, these are like professionals. These are not like.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
These are like both. These people have like professional jobs.
So here's my question. Let's say your wife or girlfriends
was doing this with the chat GPT boyfriend. Do you
think you would be good with it because like then
you don't have to talk as much, or do you
think Shannon?

Speaker 3 (08:37):
So, Shannon, you're good with it.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
All after if she wants the sex with the robots
at all, she wants.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
So you're fine with You're fine with sex team with
a rope.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
You're not gonna do a lot more than that robot can.
That's the way I look at it.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
That's what most.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Afferent story, right.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
So I was gonna say, Shannon I'm sure you'd be like,
do it then I don't have to talk to you.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Ryan.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
I'm gonna guess you would be jealous of the chat
GPT boyfriend.

Speaker 5 (09:04):
I probably would be. You know, what what is she
getting from chat GPT guy that she's not getting from me?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
She support?

Speaker 3 (09:11):
Yeah, intelligence like all these very.

Speaker 6 (09:13):
Artificial, but it's a consistency.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Consistency, consistency, intelligence support all those things. Yeah, I think,
but it's not real, Like it's not a real person,
it's just a computer.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
There's a lot to dissect here with these two stories
you've been telling us, and I think probably their problems
go a lot deeper than that.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
You know, but she's saying we had problems, we were
headed towards a divorce, and this my ability to get.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
This out to this computer is saving our marriage.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
And I would say, is this person with us in
the room right now? Like, okay, I would I would
worry about her mental You think it's like, yeah, I
don't think that's normal behavior too, talk to a computer
over a human being.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
And I just wonder when I read the story, I
tend to agree with you, but I was wondering, like,
I feel like this is gonna happen a lot more.
I mean, whether it's not even like I maybe leave
aside relationships like kids having sort of friends that are
not real the AI, Like, I don't know. I feel
like this is gonna be something we hear about a

(10:23):
lot more.

Speaker 6 (10:23):
There's some tragic stories already with kids and talking to
like friends that are chat GPG and robots. Yeah, it's
pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (10:30):
So anyway, you should read the New York Times story.
It's one of the most bizarre stories.

Speaker 3 (10:36):
I am.

Speaker 4 (10:36):
We didn't get your answer.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
It.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I mean, like you know, plus I already said I
know more than Google, like you're not.

Speaker 3 (10:46):
It's it's not gonna be able to do to communicate,
like I can't. Who's up next? Jerry is up? Jerry?
Go ahead? Jerry?

Speaker 7 (10:57):
Hey man, i'd just like you thought. I've been following this,
uh what the part of education did? And I think
that the addition to was the part of education did.
I think the fact that Ted Cruz is right in
the CNIO bill in Congress and that's going to be
and he's his but he's doing it, but he's.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Doing he's doing it with Corey Booker.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
So like the uh that so any nil deal in
Congress is gonna have to be bipartisan for reasons that
are too complicated to get into.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
But the way the rules are so, I agree with you.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
The schools are probably better off that Trump won, but
still they'll have to get ten Democrat votes in the
Senate to pass anything.

Speaker 7 (11:41):
Well, one of the things I always felt that, you know,
a lot of the player averagers said about about how
what they wanted to see happened, was that I didn't
ever see I'm even talking about progressive Democrats supporting any
kind of bill that in any way would diminish women's sports.
I'm not talking about the SEC and the Big ten.

(12:03):
I'm talking about like it's a MAC and the Big twelve,
and a lot of these conferrits are looking and how
to eliminate sports, including women awards.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
But I mean, that's gonna happen any well.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
Remember remember though, remember though the twenty two million dollar deal,
schools don't have to do that. So so so the
colleges are saying if colleges want to give twenty two
million dollars to their kids, they can. They're not saying
that they have to. So I think what's gonna end
up happening is the power for schools. Your SEC, Big ten,

(12:37):
acc Big twelve are gonna do it, and the other
conferences are not so like your Easterns and your Westerns
are not so. I don't know that it's really gonna
change anything except I think the days of a player
choosing to go to say, I don't know TWU Lane
over Mississippi State that much end. But because schools do

(13:02):
not have to do it, they can, but they don't
have to.

Speaker 7 (13:07):
Well, one of the things I thought was pure comedy.
I don't know if you've listened to the Tennessee post
game shows after Ohio State, but the people that were
crying because Ohio State had spent thirty million dollars on
their roster, it was Tennessee that sued to get the
nil rules all thrown out and and and that's why

(13:29):
I think you're finding happening here too, is you know
Tennessee thought they did some because they had one old billionaire.
Well they're find out Ohio State's got ten guys like that.
Texas has.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
But one of the things we've learned there, and I
appreciate the call that spending money does not guarantee you
a roster.

Speaker 3 (13:43):
I mean Notre Dame.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
For all the money that school has actually did not
spend very much on their roster at all.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
Indiana SMU like some of those teams.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
The look, the teams that spend the most money are
going to have the best chance to win. Ryan, But
we will see continue I think to see teams that
don't spend a ton.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
And this twenty two million dollars I had, we'll take.
Vince Merrow said this to me.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Vince Merrow said, the twenty two million dollars will be
a great equalizer for college football because we all now
are spending the same amount of money. That's positive I
think for schools like Kentucky football.

Speaker 5 (14:19):
I think it's very positive for schools like that. What's matter,
I think it's very positive for school like that.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
If you stand behind me, it goes through your mic
into mind, and that's how we get it.

Speaker 5 (14:29):
I thought it was Booterady to blow over again.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
That's how we get it that he if I've nine
two twenty two eighty seven, who's next? Kyle is up next? Kyle?
Go ahead, Kyle.

Speaker 8 (14:41):
Hey Man, has everybody doing today?

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Doing good?

Speaker 7 (14:45):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (14:45):
Uh, I want to.

Speaker 7 (14:46):
Talk about something you've talked about.

Speaker 9 (14:48):
You talked about it yesterday, and you talked about it
before the FA.

Speaker 6 (14:50):
Cup in England.

Speaker 9 (14:52):
Yes, so it's super popular in England obviously because of
how popular soccer is there in the rest of the world.
But if not unique thing, we actually do have that
here in the United States as well. It's called the
Open Cup.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Yeah, just nobody knows about it. I'm talking about something
that people would know about. That's the only reason I'm
doing Oh, I.

Speaker 9 (15:10):
Understood, Yeah, I got you.

Speaker 7 (15:11):
But I mean it's similar here.

Speaker 9 (15:12):
You know, the smaller teams have a chance to play
the bigger teams. The team here in Louisville, lou City
has had a chance to play several MLS teams and
actually years ago, kind of like the team you were
talking about that got to play in the Crackerjacks Stadium
at the Krackerbos Stadium, we played an MLS team in
UFL Stadium and that was kind of cool, you know,
being two big teams playing in a tiny college stadium,
so similar environment. But it is that does exist elsewhere,

(15:35):
and it's a pretty cool tournament here in the United
States as well.

Speaker 3 (15:38):
All Right, I appreciate the call.

Speaker 2 (15:39):

And you can make your own bourbon barrel, et cetera
here at at Bespoken Spirits. I want to thank all
of you real quick on the God's Pantry. We were

Speaker 3 (16:25):

Speaker 2 (16:27):
I'm really encouraging more of you to do it there
that this has been a good fundraiser for them, and
they are having to feed a lot of people, and
they will have to this weekend as well. It's gonna
get really really cold on Monday morning. Godspantry dot Org

doing forty one dollars for Mark Pope. But if you

(16:50):
get a chance, god'spantry dot org slash KSR.

Speaker 3 (16:54):
Time to do our Draft Kings picks.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
You go to DraftKings bet five when two hundred dollars
in bonus bets.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
They have a lot of specials.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
They're starting to put the college basketball stuff up more
as football ends. Go to DraftKings download the app promo
codes KSR. I'm gonna run through these here. Let's start with, Uh,
there's a lot of chances for upsets out there. Let's
start with Tennessee at your Vanderbilt commodores. What are the
chances the balls take a get a upset.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (17:20):
Probably not high, to be honest with you, But I'm
gonna take Vandy anyway. What's the point spread on there? Uh?

Speaker 3 (17:25):
Not out yet.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Okay, I'm gonna take Vandy Vandy. Yeah, Tennessee, Tennessee.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
I'm gonna take Tennessee. They'll probably have as many fans
there as Vandy. Well, since they're since they're there. Texas
is at Florida. Florida's got upset at home and against Missouri.
Does it happen again. Texas look good against Oklahoma.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
No.

Speaker 4 (17:44):
I think Florida's just got too much firepower, too many
good shooters on the team to lose again.

Speaker 6 (17:49):
Unrelated, you see the Florida news this morning, what.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Another coach charged with a sexual thing? Now that staff
first hear that out, I'm gonna pick him here.

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Figure it out. Florida.

Speaker 5 (18:01):
I don't know if they lose two in a row
at home, so I'm gonna go Florida.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
I'm gonna go Florida as well.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
Oh and four in Conference South Carolina versus oh and
four in Conference Oklahoma, who's going oh and five?

Speaker 4 (18:11):
South Carolina's going oh and five? They are really bad,
although Andandy just apparently snuck bomb the other night. But
I think Oklahoma wins this one.

Speaker 5 (18:17):
Yeah, Oklahoma.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
I'm gonna take Oklahoma. They're better than being oh and four. Uh.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
In Conference LSU at Texas A and M, We're all
gonna pick Texas A and L Old Miss at Mississippi
State the Battle of Mississippi. First time both teams have
been ranked in this game in fourteen years.

Speaker 3 (18:33):
Old Miss and Mississippi.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
State is gonna be one of the better games of
the weekend. I think Old Miss. You know, they just
went on the road to beat Bama. I think they
pull off another road win.

Speaker 6 (18:41):
I'm conflicted on this one. I'll say Mississippi State, this
is gonna be a battle.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
We By the way, if we want to win the conference,
we kind of need Mississippi State to win this game.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
Oh, miss Florida. Ohen the conference? They could be five
and oh if they win this.

Speaker 5 (18:52):
Game, yeah, Mississippi State. If it was that Missouri, I
might take Missouri. But at home, I'm gonna Missisippi State.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
Yeah, I'm going to Misssippi State.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
Remember we have to go to Old Miss, so we
need o Miss to get some get some losses in
case we were to lose to them. Right, let me
give you the two ones that are probably mostly interesting
to people here. Auburn, number one in the country, goes
on the road to Georgia.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
Who beat us? Can they get another victory at home?

Speaker 2 (19:13):
In a huge upset they're expecting, uh, maybe there are
already students lined up. They're expecting one of the wildest
crowds for a non Kentucky game in Georgia history.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
I would be shocked if Georgia pulled the upset, but
I think that Auburn wins.

Speaker 6 (19:26):
I'll do it. I'll take the dogs. Auburn's do a
bad game. Broom's out. They played well in the first one.
Without him, they gotta lose. At some point Georgia.

Speaker 5 (19:33):
Made it believe her out of me at home. I'm
going Georgia.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
Also, I'm gonna go Georgia. If Broom was there, I
would take it Auburn. But without I think Georgia pulls
it off. And then you know, outside of the Kentucky game,
which we'll pick later, does John Caliperi get his first
win Arkansas at Missouri? Missouri is three and one in
the conference. Beat Kansas one at Florida.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Can can get? Is this one he steals?

Speaker 4 (19:56):
This is hard for me to see caliber. I mean,
it would be hard for me to see him go
oh and four before they did. I don't think he
goes one five. I think Arkansas win.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
You gonna take Arkansas road.

Speaker 6 (20:04):
Okay, they're gonna be an underdog. I gotta take you.
They can't go oh and five. I mean, I'm someone
that didn't think it was gonna work.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
But oh and.

Speaker 4 (20:11):
Five is they have too much talent?

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Right?

Speaker 5 (20:13):
I mean two guys.

Speaker 2 (20:15):
That are projected to be first round picks. Two guys,
and they're oh and four, you're gonna pick. You're taking Arkansas.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
They have to win this one.

Speaker 5 (20:24):
Arkansas loses, they go oh and five, they're losing.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
Wow, they go oh and five. They probably go and
six cause I think they got a tough game after that.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Can I give you a little secret I have in
the last few games that decently on Arkansas because I'm like,
he can't keep losing, like they can't. They just can't
keep losing. And then they keep losing, so I can't.
I can't jump off the train until they actually win one.
So I think I'm gonna I'm gonna pick Arkansas. But
I if they're oh and.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Five, yeah, I mean, and then they got Georgia after
that one.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
They got Georgia. Well, they got Georgia at home in Oklahoma,
went home and then they come to us, right, yeah,
so oh and five, But I'm going to take Arkansas
to win. That's a that's kind of a rivalry game,
the Battle of the Ozarks or whatever.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
I think they end up winning. Who's next. Chase is
up next? Chase, Go ahead, Chase.

Speaker 7 (21:18):
Hey, you guys, This is a perfect segment for what
I want to say.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Okay, now I can tell go ahead.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
I just want to say thank you to Toss and Chicken,
Walmart and all the people that aren't rid of cow.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Okay, and then also, what do you think the key
is winning tomorrow?

Speaker 6 (21:41):
But most importantly a Final four run?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Well, I mean the final four run. I appreciate the
call tomorrow. I think we just we got to score.
In my opinion, Drew score. What's the magical number eighty seven?

Speaker 6 (21:59):
I might even go higher. That's pretty good.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Yeah, I mean I I for me, it's we gotta
make shots. If we make shots, Ryan, I think we
can win this game. If we get to ninety, I'd
feel good about it. This offense for Alabama is not
as powerful as their Final four team was last year.
If we make shots, we win. I do not think
we will be able to stop them. So we're gonna have.

Speaker 3 (22:23):
To score a lot.

Speaker 5 (22:24):
I think you hit it. Alabama is gonna score. They're
gonna put the points on the board. We have to
match that can't get down ten in the second half.
And you know, I have one of those drops they
do on scorenty points because it may be tough to
catch up because they're gonna score a lot of points.

Speaker 2 (22:35):
I think it's gonna be as simple ass. Whoever shoots
the best three point percent its wins the game. Whoever,
this is one of those Shannon Yep, whoever makes the
threes wins. Both teams are gonna get open looks, So
the question is who's gonna make.

Speaker 4 (22:47):
That's what I was about to say. The game is
gonna be won or loss behind the arc. Whoever whoever
makes the most threes, I think win.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Neither of these teams are good enough defensively to stop
the other one from scoring.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
They're all gonna get open looks.

Speaker 2 (23:00):
The question is does Kobe Braa go four for seven
or one for seven? Does Jackson Robinson go five for
eight or two for eight? Like that's really what we're
looking at, is whether or not they make the shots.
And if they do, then with the home crowd and
all that, I think we will be able to get
the victory. Eight five nine two eight oh twenty two
eighty seven. We'll take a break, be right back here.

(23:22):
But I keep wanting to say Bell Weather with Smoking Spirits,
Chazon Quarterback and Tiny Sports Radio here live, and if
the Smoking Spirits, bub Blue Nil. We are giving away
UK Alabama tickets at the end of the show.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
Somebody just brought us food here.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
It is from Thea's Bass and Biddy and I have
to tell you that is some good fish.

Speaker 5 (23:48):
It is really really like I'm kind of I.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
Got a high standard for fried fish. That is very,
very good. And it has hot sauce.

Speaker 2 (23:55):
And let me just warn you if anybody eats there,
I like hot sauce.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
That's like, that's like some real hot sauce.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
As Mario said to me when we went to the
Wing place, that's black people hot sauce right there, Like
that's not that's not Ryan hots. I'm going have to
let I'm gonna have to take some soda here. That's
really good. I would continue to eat that. That's really good.
What's it Thea's Bass and Biddy here in uh in
uh the station.

Speaker 6 (24:26):
I'm walking over there for lunch after just having one
bite of that fish that was so.

Speaker 5 (24:30):
Good at hot sauce.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
I've never seen that hot sauce. But like I wasn't
prepared for how hot that actually was. No, I mean
it's good, first of all, Ryan, you.

Speaker 5 (24:42):
Can I am not I am not gonna try it.

Speaker 2 (24:45):
Don't even try crazy like it's fine. I just wasn't
ready for it.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
I didn't. I was thinking it was gonna be one thing,
and it was. It was a different kind of thing.

Speaker 2 (24:55):
Dick Vital, we'll be calling the uh Dick my town
is gonna call it first game of the year next Saturday,
Duke against wake Forest. I love Dick Vital, glad to
see he's gonna get to do games. He's had, you know,
throw cancer, he's he's it's been a hard comeback for him.
He loves it. He keeps wanting to do it, and
now he gets to do it next week.

Speaker 6 (25:14):
I gotta be honest. A week or two ago, when
I think it might have been Seth Davis put out
an interview with him, and Dicky v said he was
making a comeback. I thought, what I mean, I'm glad
he has that attitude, but he's had like forty something
treatments on his throat, like how could he make a comeback?
And here he is next week on the call. I'm
gonna make sure I'm tuned in. I'm very excited.

Speaker 3 (25:30):
I'd be a good game.

Speaker 2 (25:31):
Might be one of the few games I said Duke
could go undefeated in the ACC if they might, like
have two chances to lose, and that will be one
of Matt wake Forest.

Speaker 5 (25:39):
Dude, you know he's been fighting the fight for a
long time. He's been fighting a good fight. But he
is college basketball, yep, you know he When he's at
a game, you think, Okay, this game must be important
because Dick Fatal is here.

Speaker 2 (25:51):
Like what if you were too, if you were to say,
like what is the best if? What are your favorite
announcers in college bas ketball or football? Like when you
see there on the game you're excited about. Just for me,
my play by play is probably Tom Hart because I
love the guy. And then we don't get any of
his games. But I like watching Gus Johnsyeah because of

(26:14):
how excited he gets. You don't like him, He's too
much for you too. I also like I like Iron
Eagle when he does college basketball during the tournament for
college football, I do like when Herb Street does a game.
I think Jesse Palmer actually does a good job. I
think Greg McElroy does a pretty good job. And then

(26:34):
who do you not like?

Speaker 3 (26:37):
Who do I not like? I have to think about it.
Who do you like, and who do you not like?

Speaker 5 (26:42):
You hit all the good ones, you know, of course,
I go back to The Little Father with Al Michaels
and Brent Mussburger.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
I'm saying, now, who do you like Calile Michaels does
the NFL?

Speaker 5 (26:50):
Yeah, yeah, I do like Herbstreet. You know, he's done
college football and NFL. Now he's still good. He's doing both.
I like, I know you guys don't really like him
that much, but I like Jimmy Didye most of the time.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
I like Jimmy Diykes. I just don't know what he
was drinking during the game the other day. Like, I
like Jimmy Dikes, but he was like Kirk Crisa, what language.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Do you speak? I'm like, dude, Jimmy hang on.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
May a poptic gummy or something.

Speaker 3 (27:13):
Afore night, the whole broadcast was weird with him.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
I mean, he was obsessed with that English professor on
the Texas A and m Boy.

Speaker 4 (27:20):
To be fair, I kind of was too. I mean
that guy didn have nice hair. It looked like you
shouldn't even been out there, can I tell you?

Speaker 5 (27:26):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (27:27):
Wait, this is fun fact of the day.

Speaker 3 (27:29):
Yeah, so well, it's your facts I'll tell you.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
So Drew has a fun fact about this is the
Texas A and M coach that looked like a professor.

Speaker 6 (27:36):
I started writing a story about this. I don't really
know how to put into words, but that guy with
that outfit was Cal's first lead to assisted at Memphis
for like three years, so we all just thought he's this.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Well, you gotta tell the second party English.

Speaker 6 (27:49):
Well, I think maybe some there might have been giving
him some ribbing when A and M would play Kentucky
because the guy's appearance completely changed. I'm not even sure
Cal knew who he was on the other bench.

Speaker 2 (27:58):
So Cal the first time he came did not know
who his lead assistant was and did not speak to
him the first time.

Speaker 6 (28:06):
If you look at the picture of the guy at
Memphis and look at him now, they look nothing alike.
But that guy that we thought was a cartoon character
was assistant for three years.

Speaker 3 (28:14):
So I mean, if you want sort of a summary
of the change.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
Of Col, he once had a guy who was so
obsessive about X and o's he ran plays for free
throw rebounding, and now he has Chin Colelan Like, I.

Speaker 3 (28:28):
Mean, that's that's the change.

Speaker 4 (28:30):
Shin doesn't care about the x's and o's, right his.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
First if you go back to his first staffs at Memphis,
they were great. They had Derreck Kellogg who was a
head coach. They had Robic, they had uh Painter John
Josh Passner, you know, and then you throw I didn't
know they had this guy, but this.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Guy was Robic.

Speaker 6 (28:54):
Went to Youngstown, was a head coach for so he
was Robic. He was with Derek Kellogg. The other one
might have even Ben Barbier one of those guys, but
he was kind of the Aerbic role while Robic.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
It's is interesting he used to be Ryan, a coach
that seemed to really want X and O guys around him.
All of those people have a reputation of being X
and O guys, and now I don't.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
Know what those guys have a reputation of being.

Speaker 5 (29:16):
Right now, I think when cal first got here, he
was maybe it was a Robic influence, but remember he
he changed from the dribble drive a couple of times
to reinvented it and kind of moved it around.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
And well, Aerobic was the X and OK. I mean,
you know, I've said this story many times, but I've.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Set with Robic and watched him break down tape and
I know there's probably people who know basketball better than.

Speaker 3 (29:36):
Him, but I've never been around one.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
I mean, the way he saw things and the way
he would write this, the tendencies.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
I was like, Dude, this dude is a savant.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
And I'm confident, Drew. They don't have that on the
staff now.

Speaker 6 (29:50):
No, I like, now with this staff, Pope, trust the
dude that's like the fourth assistant to step in and
say something or to handle a responsibility. We haven't been
to practice, but I've had people that go to practices say,
you know before it might be like this a lot
of places, but the head coach runs everything and the
other guys are kind of helping out Pope, Scott, guys
stepping in, reading off analytics. They all kind of have

(30:10):
their own roles and it's more of a collective coaching
than it is at a lot of places where just
the main guys running the show.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
During the transition, a guy wrote me who's kind of
in the high school recruiting world, and he said, was
is it finger Cody Figer. He said to me, again,
I've only met Cody figure once, not really spoken to him.
But he said to me, Cody Figer is the smartest
dude I've ever interacted with in college basketball. Mark Pope

(30:36):
sings pretty smart too. I mean that combination is a
pretty good combination. Who's up next, Randy is up next, Randy,
go ahead, Randy.

Speaker 8 (30:46):
Good morning, fellas. Hey with this new nil deal, and
I know we're just navigating this, and it's is this
something that I'm kind of concerned about? I guess, is
this something that can be passed on to the fans
when we see ticket prices increase?

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Yes, not only can't let me give you a little secret.
Let me give you a little secret. Anytime a Democrat
probably shouldn't say this, but anytime you hear about the
raising of anything, it will always be passed.

Speaker 3 (31:13):
On to the consumer and fan.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
So anytime you see twenty two million dollars is now
gonna be paid to players, it's gonna be passed on
to the fan. Anytime you see, uh, we're gonna put tariffs,
it's gonna be passed on to the consumer. Anytime you
say we're gonna raise at tax on something, it's going
to be passed on to the consumer. So just always
assume it's gonna be passed on the consumer. Now will

(31:36):
all twenty two million be passed on?

Speaker 3 (31:38):
Probably not.

Speaker 2 (31:39):
I think what's gonna end up happening is some of
these coaches are gonna see decreases in their salary. Whereas
you used to pay coach ten million dollars, now you
may pay them seven. But yes, this will be passed
on to the fan in some way. How they choose
to do it, I don't know.

Speaker 8 (31:54):
And then I'm gonna say this tomorrow. I think it's
ninety four or eighty seven Kentucky wins.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
Hope you're right.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
I mean, they're not going to raise the tickets to
where they raised twenty two million dollars through tickets. But
I do think you gotta remember, probably half this money,
maybe even two thirds of this money, is gonna come
in because of the increase in revenue they made on
this new television deal. This new television deal way up
the amount of money each school gets. But there is
almost certainly going to be some passing on to the fame, and.

Speaker 5 (32:23):
The next television deal it's gonna go up even more.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
You know that one's not for another fifteen years. The
SEC deal is gonna stay for.

Speaker 3 (32:30):
A long time.

Speaker 6 (32:32):
Yeah, people are just gonna have to be used. I mean,
it's happened in now. Fans are already been asked for
more money than they've been asked to contribute ever, and
that's not going anywhere. Their hands are gonna stay out
one more.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
I think the people who are going to feel it
the most sheed are the big donors. They're gonna go, hey,
you're already given two hundred thousand dollars, how about two
hundred and fifty. I think you're gonna see that. Matter
of fact, I know those conversations have been taking place.
I think I said after the.

Speaker 3 (32:55):
Uh what was the game?

Speaker 2 (32:58):
For the first game sec getting Ford before the Florida game,
they brought the forty to fifty biggest donors in a
room and said, we need money.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
Yeah, you're already donated. You're already donating big money. You know,
A small little hike for those people. You know, they're
probably not even gonna think twice about.

Speaker 2 (33:15):
It, because there is amount of money you can't raise
from the average fan because they just can't pay it.
You know, if some of these the people in the top,
I don't know how much more you can ask them
to pay The State Renovations is a full interior renovations company,

(33:59):
and come right back. Final segment. This is Ka's runner
back final segment. Here Kentucky Sports Radio. I got this little,
uh spinny thing. I'm gonna give away tickets to UK
Alabama here in about ten or twelve minutes. There it is,
and we'll see who gets it. Now, let me give
you a little scheduling here. We will I will be

(34:19):
doing the pregame show. We'll be well all we'll all
be doing it nine to thirty am in the morning
for the game at noon. The bar opens at nine,
so if you want to come, the bar opens before
the show. We're serving breakfast all morning, we have good breakfast,
as right always says, which is actually true, and nine
to thirty we'll do the pregame show. Then I will

(34:39):
do the postgame show, win or lose. After the game,
we are off Monday for Martin Luther King Day and
for me to not watch the inauguration. And then that
night Kentucky or Kentucky, I wish we were playing. That
night is the National Championship game Ohio State Notre Dame.
We have had a contest picking game that has people

(35:01):
playing for four thousand dollars. We're right now trying to
finalize how many people are coming. They'll probably be a
couple spots open. Be watching your social media to try
to get one of the final spots to win four
thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (35:13):
Drew on Monday night during the National Championship at the bar.

Speaker 6 (35:17):
It's always a fun atmosphere with so much at stake,
and you know, you always have a little extra twists
here or something. At the end of the quarter, end
of the half.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
It just now, I'll come down, They'll be like four
or five people.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
Somebody will win four thousand dollars, somebody will go home
with nothing, and there's such tension.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Now, I've done this for like five years and it's
always a lot of fun.

Speaker 5 (35:37):
Yeah. The way you do it, like Drew said, build
up every quite the quarter, at the half, at three quarters.

Speaker 3 (35:40):
We eliminate people along the way.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Kind of builds the excitement a little bit and anxiety
leading up to the winner.

Speaker 3 (35:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
So let's uh, let's go over National Championship game Monday
night since we will not be on the air to
pick it between now and then. Ohio State Notre Dame,
any chance the plucky fighting Irish get the victory.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
I take Ohio State to win, but I don't know
if they cover. Is it still nine points?

Speaker 3 (36:03):
Nine points?

Speaker 5 (36:03):
Man, that's a lot of points. It's all about I'll
say so. I guess if I was a betting I
bet Notre Dame to cover.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
I got Ohio State winning and I got him covering.
I think they roll.

Speaker 7 (36:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (36:12):
Ohio State has just felt like the team that's destined
to win the title this year. Plus they have Jack
Black as their head coach. I don't know how against him.

Speaker 2 (36:19):
Yeah, I looked more at that. He's never looked like
Jack Bike even a little bit.

Speaker 5 (36:23):
Yeah, when Jack Bike's got the shorter beard, like I.

Speaker 3 (36:26):
Never won time. First of all, Jack Blike is like
Ryan Day's in decent shape. Jack Bike's big, Ryan Day's big. Okay,
you tell him that to his face? What about you? Uh?

Speaker 6 (36:38):
I don't want to sleep on the couch. So I'm
picking Notre Dame even though I don't really believe it.
But I'm married into a Notre Dame family and they're excited,
so I go Irish.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
All right, let's go through NFL games. Patrick Mahomes is
at home going for three straight titles against the Texans.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Who you got? No way?

Speaker 4 (36:54):
Taylor Swift and the Chiefs go out this early in
the playoffs. Let's go Chiefs.

Speaker 5 (36:58):
There's no way Mahomes lose.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Is at home?

Speaker 6 (37:00):
Yeah, I'll go Chiefs.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
Yeah, Chiefs gonna win this. I think this will be
the worst game of the weekend. Commanders and Lions. Jayden
Daniels goes up to Detroit. I got a Lion shirt
on today?

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Who you got? Yep?

Speaker 4 (37:12):
I think Detroit gets it done. Wouldn't be surprised to
see them in the Super Bowl. They've had an amazing year.

Speaker 6 (37:16):
I agree going with the Lions, especially because the nice
lady from Detroit brought us.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
This get true.

Speaker 5 (37:20):
Yes with the spread THO, there's a lot of points
on this, isn't it.

Speaker 3 (37:23):
I'm just asking you who's winning. You don't have to
do the.

Speaker 5 (37:25):
Spreads, okay when we're doing just winter.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Yeah, give me the Greek over here. I just want
to know who you think is gonna win the game.

Speaker 5 (37:30):
Detroit wins, but Commanders probably cover.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
Uh when did you be so into covering?

Speaker 3 (37:37):
Like you gamble less than all of us.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
It's true.

Speaker 5 (37:41):
I'll be watching the game, bet and punt every possession.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Na, I'm gonna take the lines. Although I think it's
very close. I think Jayden Daniels makes it close. Rams
and the Eagles my upset pick of the weekend. I
picked the Rams when they were three and seven. I
said on countdown to kickoff, the Rams are my sleeper
super Bowl team, and Myron made fun of me. If
they win this week, I'll have that clip to have

(38:05):
him eat it forever. So I'm taking the Rams to
win in Philadelphia along with you.

Speaker 4 (38:09):
I hope you're right. I hate the Eagles. Give me
anybody but them. I'm going with the Rams.

Speaker 6 (38:13):
I like the Rams. They may be money last week
as an underdog, but Philly They're gonna be at their
most Philly in theresphere is gonna take over.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
Yeah, I go Philly.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
Also, yeah, Mike snow during the game. Appearently that's that's
something to.

Speaker 2 (38:25):
Watch for that Ravens and Bills. This might be the
Super Bowl. I mean, I think the Chiefs still can
win because it's Patrick Mahons. But this like Sunday night,
six o'clock. Who's not watching this? This will get an
insane rating? Lamar, Josh Allen, who you got.

Speaker 4 (38:39):
Game of the weekend? Give me Lamar and the Ravens
on the road.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Oh wow, that's his biggest win of his.

Speaker 4 (38:45):
Life, one favor.

Speaker 6 (38:46):
I believe it's only gonna be the biggest win of
his life for a few weeks because the Ravens are
my super Bowl winner. I have been winning this one.

Speaker 5 (38:53):
I think the Ravens killed him during the season, so
I'm going Ravens even winning on the road.

Speaker 2 (38:56):
Listen to you all, no respect for Buffalo, upstate New
York cold throwing people through tables, Buffalo Buffalo wins.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
I mean, I love Lamar, but I'd.

Speaker 4 (39:08):
Like to see Buffalo. You know, I think about Buffalo
from the nineties.

Speaker 2 (39:12):
Is Lamar your favorite ever player. It's my favorite ever
player played at Louisville, or is it yours? Yeah, I've
never even liked a player that played at Louisville in
the pros.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
But I love Lamar.

Speaker 6 (39:24):
I know you're not looking at me.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Yeah, you don't like Lamar. I know.

Speaker 2 (39:28):
Do you not like any player that played at Little Paring? Yeah,
I'm actually I'll put pair in ahead of Lamar.

Speaker 3 (39:36):
Okay, Russ Smith, I really.

Speaker 2 (39:39):
Going now.

Speaker 6 (39:39):
He's doing a lot around in Kaisucky, but Lamar, No,
I am picking the Ravens to win it. Though, as
much as will kill me, I want my guy Dereck
Henry to be happy.

Speaker 2 (39:47):
I'll go Paring Lamar Russ Smith, All right, let's go
to Kentucky in Alabama. Kentucky just spread just came out.
Kentucky's a one and a half point favorite Kentucky. When
this game got on the schedule before the season started, I.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
Thought, I don't know if we're gonna get Alabama.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
I thought Alabama would be a little bit better than
they are. I thought we would be a little bit
worse than we are. Now, these teams, I think are
pretty equal. It's at home. Do you like the you
like the Cats chance.

Speaker 4 (40:17):
I think this is gonna be an absolute shootout. I
think both teams score in the nineties. I want to
be optimistic. I'm gonna pick Kentucky ninety seven to ninety five.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
Wow, So you're expecting a shooting.

Speaker 4 (40:29):
Kind of like that Florida game a couple of weeks
ago or last week.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
With the Florida game, to me, is one of the
highest played, one of the best played offensive games I
have ever seen in college basketball, with two teams just
executing play after play after play. I don't know if
we get that, but I think it'll be good.

Speaker 3 (40:47):
What do you think.

Speaker 6 (40:48):
I'm about as excited for Tomorrow's game as any left
on the schedule, just because the style of the play
DraftKings cannot make that total high enough. I am on
the over. I think they're both gonna be flirting with
one hundred, and I'll say Kentucky wins a close one
shoot out.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Yeah, I'm excited to watch this game. Gonna be a
great game to watch as a fan, there no doubt
about it. But I think both people will light up
the scoreboard. So I'll say Kentucky ninety four ninety one.

Speaker 6 (41:09):
Yeah, what's specific I need to say ninety seven ninety four.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
Oh and that what you just said seven five.

Speaker 2 (41:17):
First of all, I think it's gonna be who else
going in here? I mean, hopefully you're all going if
you want the tickets, but I got other people. I
think it's gonna be one of those really cool days
in rough. Yeah, the game is at noon. I wish
it was a little later, just so people. But at
the same time, it was a great atmosphere for that
eleven AM against Florida game is at noon, It's on ESPN.

(41:38):
I mean, the students are gonna be out there, probably
some of them tonight. I think it's gonna be a
great atmosphere. And this crowd this year has been awesome
for every game, but this is a game where they
need the crowd, right, we need the fans into it.
Alabama's gonna have runs. You know, They're gonna have an
eight old run sometime in the game. We're gonna have

(41:59):
an eight and sometime in the game. But I do
think ultimately Kentucky wins. I'm gonna say I don't think
it's gonna be as highs y'all. I'm gonna say ninety two,
eighty eight and gets a massive win, a game that
two weeks ago I would not have picked them to win.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
True, I'll pick them to win this time.

Speaker 5 (42:15):
Yeah, cause they seem to continue to learn how to
play the physical ball in the sec They're kind of
figuring it out as they go along. That's why I
think their best basketball is even yet to come.

Speaker 4 (42:22):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
Thank you the folks here at Bespoken Spirits Club Blue
Innile hosted this two weeks in a row, so YEA
give them around of applause. I'll be on the We'll
be on the pregame show nine am tomorrow from care
nine point thirty. Come Caspar opens at nine am. No
show on Monday. We're running the best stuff from like
two years ago. Would be interesting to see what we
said two years ago about the UK basketball team. We'll

(42:46):
see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
