by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones welcome back.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
I remember two Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (01:09):
If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven
a vision Auto glass text machine, it's seven seven two
seven seven four five two five four Joe Wrights, Matt,
I think your secret service name would clearly be no shistle.

Speaker 4 (01:22):
Shut up.

Speaker 5 (01:23):
Uh, Brian says Matt. Your secret service name would certainly
be white necklace.

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Also shut up. Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
Another good one.

Speaker 4 (01:32):
I'll do this one, one person writes Matt. I think
it would be toenail. I'll take that one. I would
do Toenail's a good one. People.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Uh, people, you know that's a random story I told
Drew that really sticks in everybody's mind. Was the carrying
around the toenail. I don't know why that one sticks.

Speaker 7 (01:48):
You don't know why.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (01:49):
I don't know either what anybody you remember that?

Speaker 7 (01:51):
I thought everybody did that.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:54):
All right, So, uh, if I'm nine two eight oh
twenty two eighty seven, feel free talk about callback Tennessee game.
I'm glad to talk about Tennessee game for the rest
of the year because I love beating Tennessee.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
But we do need to talk.

Speaker 5 (02:05):
About, you know, the next three days through Saturday are
gonna be all I do think a lot of the
national spotlight from the college basketball world is going to
be specifically on Kentucky fans. There're gonna be two angles
to this game Saturday. What does Caliperry feel emotionally? And
then secondly us and like, what are we like how

(02:28):
do we sort of receive Cal back? And I have,
you know, some thoughts on this that I just want
to share. And then Drew, you and Shannon, I like
to hear what you think as well. I'm gonna give
you the short version of mine. Cal's gonna walk in
here on Saturday night, and the whole college basketball world's
gonna wait to see what our reaction is, whatever that

(02:49):
reaction is, and there's gonna be a lot made about
what the reaction is. I have already done. I spent yesterday.
I think I did four interviews with national outlets about
what I thought the reaction would be and about the
deterioration of the relationship between UK fans and Cal. I've
got another two scheduled on my way to the airport today.

(03:12):
This is clearly gonna be a big thing. And part
of the reason I'm even doing them is I want
to sort of express I want to take up for
Kentucky fans on this, because you know, the natural reaction
from a lot of people is gonna be able to
is gonna be saying, hey, this dude coached you for
fifteen years. Why is whatever the reaction that comes the reaction,

(03:34):
And you know, Cal did an interview I guess yesterday
or two days ago where he said, you know, he'd
used his line about how he's got bazouka holes in
him so he doesn't even feel anything anymore. But I
you know, I don't believe that I know him. If
he gets booed in here, it's gonna bother him. But

(03:55):
you know that's how it is, right, Like that's I
get it.

Speaker 4 (03:58):
He's a human being.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Like it would it would stink if you if you
coached here and then had that reaction. Here's what I
want to say to Kentucky fans. This is just my
take on it. If I was at that game Saturday,
and I may be, but if I, if I do,
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna boo him, but I'm
not gonna cheer him. I don't think you cheer him.

(04:20):
If people for if people want to. That's fine. I'm
not gonna cheer him just because he did leave in
the last few years were a strain on the fan base,
But I'll be honest, we're also a strain on me personally.
So I'm not gonna give him a round of applause
if the last time he was in Lexington he tried
to get me fired. I can't stand up Shannon and
give a round of applause when I know that one

(04:41):
of the last few phone calls it was made was
trying to get me to.

Speaker 6 (04:44):
Lose a job.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Nobody else should do that. But I'm also not gonna
boo him.

Speaker 5 (04:49):
Because I've had a lot of my personal life, my
personal success, he deserves a part in.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
I can't ignore that.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
I can't ignore that my switch from being a lawyer
to doing this full time coincided with him getting here
and the excitement he brought in that, especially in the
early years. You know, he would give us some insight
and stuff that was helpful, So I can't ignore that either.
You know, just because a relationship ends does not mean
there were not positive moments in that relationship.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
So I can't ignore that. So I wouldn't do anything,
But what I.

Speaker 5 (05:23):
Want to say to Kentucky fans is whatever you decide
to do Saturday, whether it is cheer, boo, or be
in silence, you've earned the right to do whatever you do. Okay,
if you decide to get up and applaud him because
of his time here, you've earned the right to do that.
My guess is all of you listening, he's given you

(05:46):
very happy moments. If you decide, like me, to stand
up and do nothing, you've earned the right to do
that for whatever your own personal reason would be. But
if you decide to boo, you've earned the right to
do that too. We've booed a lot of coaches over
the years. Matter of fact, we boo most road coaches.

(06:08):
Any road coach with notoriety for the other team gets booed.
Bruce Pearl gets booed. Nate Oates gets booed. If Shrychevski
had come in here, he'd get booed. Rick Patino got booed,
Chris Matt got booed. I mean you name the coach,
Billy Donovan. Billy Donovan coached here when he came back
with Florida.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
What happened?

Speaker 5 (06:28):
He got boot That's the way it is. He coaches Arkansas.
Arkansas's our rival, So if you want to stand up
in boo, you've earned a right to do that too.
So there's gonna be this collective you know, I know
some of our media is getting up and saying, please
don't boom be classy. People in this fan base are smart.

(06:53):
People in this fan base know more about basketball than
any other group of college fans in the country. You
have a to whatever reaction you have, and you do
not let people who aren't part of this group tell
you what your reaction should be. Whatever your reaction is
completely valid. For me personally, my reaction is gonna be silence.

(07:18):
But whether you're cheering, whether you're booing, you have a
right to express your emotions because he's a road coach. Now,
if in ten years he's retired and he comes in
here to watch a game, all of us, me included,
should applaud. I do believe that absent him doing something
crazy between now and then, which I don't think you will.

(07:41):
But as an Arkansas coach, when he walks in here
after having left us with all the basketball Benny talk
and all that's happened over the last few years, whatever
reaction you give, you have earned, and I'm not gonna
listen to Seth Greenberg or J Billis. I don't know
that he would say this or whoever that gets on
television or right to say we shouldn't. They're wrong. They

(08:05):
don't get a vote. Our vote is internal. I've heard
Jack Gibbons say he will he will cheer. You've heard
me say I'll do nothing. I've heard at least one
prominent person say they'll boo. All reactions are valid. That's
my take, Drew, what's your take.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
I agree with you in that people should do whatever
they wanted to do, and I think it's gonna be
a little bit of everything. I think it's gonna be
pretty divided. We'll hear the booze and I think the
people that want to cheer will try to drown that out,
which will make the booers be louder. I think we'll
just have a little conflict with fans. And I think
part of that is I think there's just divide on
what people think booing is. Starting with that. Some people
like you're saying, and I agree with he is coming

(08:46):
into upp arena to ruin our day. I think that
alone is worth booing. Whatever your name is. If you're
on the other team wearing the other logo, I think
you should be booed, whether you're at you know, Bucknell, whatever,
they're coming in to ruin your day. If you want
to boom boom them, it's sports, that's what we do.
We hope they still go to their cars and go
eat dinner with their families at night. But you're in
rapp ana, you should get booed if you're wearing the

(09:07):
other color. So that alone, I think some fans should
do it. Allowed to do it whatever, I'm not gonna
boo do it, do whatever you think. But then also
someone on kas board made a great point. Their name
was actually John John Calamari. He listed all the reasons
he loves cal great reasons and we all agree with him.
And he said he's traveling all the way here just

(09:29):
to boo cal because he needs it, just for reconciliation.
Like I'm gonna boo, and then I'm closing the book
on via maad at Cow. We're all moving on. We'll
have the game, all of them, but I need to
boo to let him know how upsetting the last few
years were because he didn't have a moment to really
fill from the fans that were that upset. I think
he's drowned that out a little bit. So I think
some people are booing just to start the game, just

(09:52):
to get it out. They're gonna hope we beat Arkansas
and from that point forward, by gods, beat by gones. Whatever,
do what you gotta do at Arkansas on the road,
we'll bring you back and we'll have a big moment
where we hug and talk about Doron Lamb and Aaron
Harrison and all that. But Saturday morning, it's Arkansas versus Kentucky.
If people want to boo, what's wrong with that? I mean,

(10:13):
they're not saying John Kalen And actually one thing that
really upsets me is the people saying he did so
much for this state. All right, no one is booing
his character. Shannon made this point on the pre show.
No one thinks John cali Perry is a bad guy.
No one is ungrateful for what he did for Western Kentucky,
Eastern Kentucky. He did so much good for Kentucky. The
booing is not symbolic of John Caliperry a human. It

(10:33):
is John cali Perry who didn't you know, live up
to the standard of the last few years, and then
left in the middle of the night to go to
an in conference team who is coming to Arena on
your schedule. If you want to boo that scenario, I
don't see anything wrong with that.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Totally agree with that. And that's a key point, chanting.
I didn't hear you make it, but it's correct. We're
not booing him as a person. If he gets booed
as a person. Col's a good guy. I say that
in every interview. I said it all interviews I did
yesterday and I'll say it in all of them today.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
He's a good guy.

Speaker 5 (11:02):
But he also went on television on Tuesday and said I.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Will be here.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
He made Mitch sit next to him. He made Mitch
look like an idiot, which is not Mitch's fault by
saying I support this guy. And then two days later
he talked to Arkansas. You're allowed to do that if
you want, right and I think if people are blind
to do that, if you want to do.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
It, and if people are booing, that's what they are booing.
I don't wish any ill will on John Caliperry's personal life.
I don't even know cali Perry personally. But yeah, he's
done a lot of great things for the state. But
that's not why we're it's sports hate. It's not real hate. Yes,
for John Caliperry. It's a big difference between sports person.

Speaker 7 (11:41):
It's bowing at a game. It happens everywhere.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
When Shannon the.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Dude walks out in wrestling and gets booed, the people
in the crowd don't hate Shannon the person. He's playing
a character in a in an event. Now cal is
not like that, but he kind of is. He's wearing
a red jacket, he is called to beat, he called
the Hogs, and he did a lot for this state.

(12:06):
But you know what, this state did a lot for
him too. It was a mutually beneficial relationship and we
decided that relationship was not beneficial anymore. But so did
he and he left. And like, it's okay if people boo. Now,

(12:27):
with that said, if you want to clap because the
memories are so strong, I think that's fine too.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Drew's hit it. There's gonna be loud clapping, and there's gonna.

Speaker 5 (12:36):
Be loud blue booing, and you can't be loud silent Drew,
which is about what I would be.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
I'd be like, I'm so silent, but like that, you
can't do that.

Speaker 7 (12:46):
And I think they're just gonna outlloud each other because
everyone has already had this debate for weeks now, and
everyone in that arena is gonna try to be louder
for whatever side they think is the right side.

Speaker 5 (12:55):
All right, so we've said low arena. I wouldn't boo
because it's tough for me because my inclination would be
to boo. But I just can't because if I look
in the mirror, I'm a lawyer if it's not for cow,
So I can't completely just dismiss the guy. Drew says,
he's not gonna boo, Shannon, you don't have.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
A personal connection to him, Drew, and.

Speaker 5 (13:19):
I do now, so yours is almost the most neutral
of the group.

Speaker 4 (13:23):
Let's say you were at the game, what would you do?

Speaker 3 (13:27):
I probably wouldn't do either, But if I were going
to do one or the other, I would be booing them.
I just would He chose this. Remember that he chose
to leave Kentucky. He chose to go to Arkansas. That's
why I don't feel bad for him. That's why I
would boom.

Speaker 4 (13:42):
Yeah. All right, so there you go. That's our take.

Speaker 5 (13:44):
I'm sure we will hear your take over the next
few days. Eight five, nine, two, eight oh, twenty two
eighty seven. By the way, it is wings day at
KS Bar all day, Dollar Wings all day and night.

Speaker 4 (13:56):
They're really good right now.

Speaker 5 (13:57):
I don't know what they're doing with them, but like
I think they're better now then they've been the last
couple of years.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
So shout out to our chefs.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
But Wings day, dollar Wings all day, and then tomorrow
Ryan and Drew and I will be back at Chsbar.
By the way, so if you want to see the
show tomorrow, we'll take a break of Marry Back to
Kentucky Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Welcome back Tukey Sports Radio. Court Physical Therapy.

Speaker 5 (14:17):
If you need physical therapy, go to Court KRT dot com.

it's court dot com KRT dot com. They got twenty
seven locations. They'll come in most insurance will pay for
it and you can make yourself feeling better. No reason
to be sore, no reason to be hurt, go to
court dot com. One person writes, this will be my
call today from Whiskey Thief Matt. Basically, what you're saying

(14:42):
is a Ryan lemonism when it comes to cal be
proud of who you self. That's right, Drew, That's exactly
what I'm saying, And that is a Ryan lemonism.

Speaker 4 (14:50):
Whatever your opinion is, that you should be proud.

Speaker 7 (14:52):
To have it, exactly speaking Whiskey Thief for their Friday
and Louiville looking forward to it.

Speaker 5 (14:56):
Yeah, so we are at Whiskey Thief Friday in Louisville.
The pre Arkansas show is at the Louisville location of
Whiskey Thief, and we'll get an address for you tomorrow.
But hey, Louisville people, this is our one Louisville remote
of basketball season. So plan on joining us at Whiskey Thief.
I believe it's in.

Speaker 7 (15:12):
New lou Nanny goat strut.

Speaker 5 (15:15):
Yeah, that's right, we were there. That's right, Nanny Nanny
goat Trut. I remember that road, Nanny goats trut. So
Hey five, nine, two, eight, twenty two eighty seven. Who's
up next?

Speaker 6 (15:25):
Let's go to Joe.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Joe, go ahead, Joe man.

Speaker 5 (15:30):
What what about the guy that go to next to
the guy Shannon who held because he wanted to go ahead.

Speaker 8 (15:37):
Go ahead, Joe, hey man, big thing here is, I
think you laid the foundation for how everybody should go
into the game. I really appreciate that. But from mo
to my heart, I want to say thank you because
the national media has been coming down on Big Blue
Nation all year long and how we should feel about
cal and this game, and you stuck up for us.

(16:00):
So thank you from bottom of my heart. Everybody can
do exactly what they want to do, and they have
the right to do so, but thank you for giving
us a voice.

Speaker 5 (16:10):
Well, they don't get they don't get a vote. I
am so tired of the national media telling me how
we should feel. You don't get to do that, right Like,
you don't get to say how the people who live
and breathe this feel.

Speaker 4 (16:24):
You got.

Speaker 5 (16:24):
Those folks sit somewhere else. It's not a part of
their life. They'll opine on Kentucky today, then they'll opine
on Yukon tomorrow, Duke.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
The next day.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
It's just it's just a like thing for them to say.
But we live here, we dealt with it, We know
it better than they do. And that's why the person
that sits in Reperena knows the John Caliperi Kentucky experience
better than any of the national people do. That's why
Seth Greenberg it's obnoxious for him to say what real

(16:56):
UK fans should do. Every listener to this show he
knows more about Kentucky basketball than Seth Greenberg, so he
doesn't get to decide. Everyone in our fan base gets
to decide on their own.

Speaker 8 (17:11):
Absolutely, thank you, so match much, Matt, and go big Blue,
and I hope we blow him all the water.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
Appreciate the call.

Speaker 5 (17:18):
All right, let's go to Brad because he's held for
a while for his point, So go ahead, Brad.

Speaker 9 (17:23):
Yes, Matt, thank you. I want to tell you why
I would boo caller. Perry's that he followed up three
bad years with two good teams, and for his own
personal reasons, he refused to play the winning combination of
players and on neither one of those teams, and they
were good teams. They could have won games in Nashville,

(17:44):
they could have won games in the NCAA tournament, but
he refused for his personal reasons to play the correct.

Speaker 8 (17:53):
Combination of players. And then he.

Speaker 9 (17:54):
Follows that up with the audacity to go to Arkansas
and come back and try and extort more money from us.
And that is just I mean, deale with him.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
Well, that's strong in the last sentence, I think everything else.

Speaker 9 (18:12):
I'm sorry, I mean to deal with him as a coach.

Speaker 4 (18:16):
Okay, all right, that's a good change.

Speaker 5 (18:18):
I don't But as far as everything else, I appreciate
the call. I don't disagree with that, Drew, Right Like
I don't disagree with the fact that the last two
years those teams should have been good and they weren't.
I don't disagree with the fact that he played players
because he had made promises to him and then we
ended up not playing the best guys. And I also
don't disagree with in the end he still was trying
to get more money from us and was still trying

(18:40):
to change the media landscape for himself.

Speaker 4 (18:42):
Drew, That's just all those things are true.

Speaker 7 (18:45):
Well, that brings me to my question. Does Mitch Barhart
boo him? He went in his office and lot on television,
knowing he had a foot out the door.

Speaker 4 (18:54):
He won't boo him.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
But he's not gonna BOOHI because that's not how Mitch is.
But I guarantee you, I mean he Mitch will go
up to Cal if the moment comes, he will shake
his hand. But there was not a human being in
the state of Kentucky with a bigger smile the day
Cal left than Mitch.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
That is just true.

Speaker 5 (19:15):
I mean I didn't see it, so it's not like
I visualized it, But metaphorically I know that's true. He
for fifteen years their relationship had been negative, and it
wasn't all Mitch Cow's fault.

Speaker 4 (19:27):
Sometimes it was.

Speaker 5 (19:28):
I think it was Mitch's fault, but in the end,
I think a lot of it at the end was
Cow's fault.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
And nobody was happier.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
I mean the moment Chinn and Cal got that, or
Mitch got that phone call that kl had talked to Arkansas,
I bet he went in his uh. I bet he
nearly said heck at his Bible study.

Speaker 4 (19:47):
He was so happy.

Speaker 6 (19:48):
Had to be a big weight off of him, though.

Speaker 4 (19:50):
I mean it had to.

Speaker 5 (19:51):
Be because he went, I can get rid of this, yep.
And I will say this if I'm Mitch. The thing
I couldn't get over is you made me go on
TV and take up for you when I wanted to
get rid of you. And then you went and did
that and stab me him back. That'd be hard to
get over, Drew, it would, wouldn't it.

Speaker 7 (20:13):
Yeah, I mean I was. I was partially joking about
Mitch literally booing. But if anyone has the right to
do it, Mitch is high. End that conversation with that
awkward interview where they both talked about all the marriage
is great, don't listen outside and we look at us.
And then Cayle lives in Fayettville the next week so
I can tell you later.

Speaker 4 (20:29):
He's talking to Arkansas two days later.

Speaker 7 (20:32):
Do you think UK will do any kind of little
short video they can't control their fans. Do you think
there will be any welcome back quick Hila?

Speaker 4 (20:40):
They should.

Speaker 5 (20:41):
I think it wouldn't surprise me if they do. But
I you know, I don't know. I think again, there's
a day all of this should happen. I just don't
think it's Saturday. As I said, I ended an interview
with I think awful announcing who I think is doing
a story. H Shannon on meat versus Seth Greenberg about that. Yeah,

(21:03):
I ended it by saying John Caliperi deserves his flowers
one day in Lexington.

Speaker 4 (21:08):
It just doesn't have to be Saturday.

Speaker 6 (21:10):
Yeah, there will be plenty of other opportunities.

Speaker 5 (21:13):
We're going to use their times for that. It doesn't
have to be Saturday. Who's next, Corey, Corey, go ahead, Cory.

Speaker 10 (21:21):
It blows my mind that this is even a conversation.
It is an adversarial coach coming into rupp Aerna. He
didn't just leave us. He cheated on us. He went
and took Tyson's chicken money. Now I can't buy eggs.
And he went to a thumbpar program and now he
wants sympathy. The man is in the middle of his

(21:43):
Hollywood Hogan run. He's a heel. We can have our day.

Speaker 8 (21:48):
We will cheer him.

Speaker 10 (21:49):
It is not Saturday.

Speaker 4 (21:50):
He can eat it.

Speaker 10 (21:51):
And if Seth Greenberg could quit hot to in him,
he could eat it. But his mouth's full, thanks Matt.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
Wow boy, this is like a These next two days
would be like a fine bomb thing.

Speaker 4 (22:04):
Right. You just open up the phones like we don't
even have to talk.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
You may have given out the whiskey thief call the
day too soon.

Speaker 5 (22:09):
So I mean there is a sense though, if it
is an adversarial let me also say this about flipping
the script.

Speaker 4 (22:19):
Let's say we were.

Speaker 5 (22:21):
One in six and they had beaten the teams we'd beat.
Do you think these national media people lecturing us about
how we're acting now wouldn't be lecturing us.

Speaker 4 (22:32):
The other way? Drew say, oh see you let him go,
you stupid fans. You know they would, okay.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
They would Game Day on Saturday. I wouldn't see it
because I haven't watched that show in five years, but
it would all be about look what you let walk
out the door. He's gonna come back tonight and show
you how wrong you were. You should have stuck with
your Hall of Famer, but the things did wait wait, wait,
look at him now. Now you're gonna have to eat
your words. But no, it's the opposite.

Speaker 4 (22:58):
We were right.

Speaker 5 (23:00):
We were right at the end of the day, we
were right. The stuff people were saying here those last
couple of years, we got lectured every game about how
we were wrong and the fans expectations are.

Speaker 4 (23:14):
Too high, and man, man, man, we were right. You
were wrong.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
You guys were just taking up for your own We
were correct and I and if it had been the opposite,
you know, we'd be getting lectured by them either way.

Speaker 4 (23:27):
That's why I don't want to hear it. We'll take
a break and be right back. It's KSR.

Speaker 7 (23:34):
TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them
pay Now.

Speaker 3 (23:39):
More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
Here's Matt Jones.

Speaker 5 (23:44):
All right, I want to get your guys opinion before
I tweet this. I was gonna tweet out because I
just want to survey of the fan base.

Speaker 4 (23:51):
Shannon. Okay, if you're at the game Saturday and cal
Perry was introduced, would you h heer b.

Speaker 5 (23:56):
Boo ce, stay silent? You think we should put that
poll out there and see what it says.

Speaker 6 (24:00):
Yeah, let's see why not get cure?

Speaker 4 (24:03):
What do you think? Oh?

Speaker 7 (24:04):
Definitely, let's get these numbers?

Speaker 4 (24:05):
All right, So what do we think the numbers will be?
Before I hit the post?

Speaker 5 (24:08):
But hmmm, remember, I mean there are some people that
follow me that are not Kentucky fans, But I'm not
sure what they would be inclined to vote anyway, right,
they might want to may who knows what they So
let's just what do you think we'll say, like when
we get ready to take the next break in ten minutes,
what do you think it's gonna say.

Speaker 7 (24:25):
I think it's gonna be pretty close all three ways.
I'll give cheering like forty thirty eight percent.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
What do you think I'm gonna say, booing is sixty wow,
and then I'll say twenty and twenty. I guess what
the other time is idea, And it's interesting.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
I think stay silent will be the biggest.

Speaker 5 (24:46):
Really Okay, maybe it's just because that's what each of
us would do, except I don't think Drew drew a cheer.
But all right, there we go. I'm posting it. Let's
see what the result ends will be. I have no
idea what it's gonna be. I really don't, because I
don't know what the reaction is gonna be Saturday, I
really don't.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
I think Boo intends to just by nature, be louder
than cheering.

Speaker 8 (25:08):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
But I don't really.

Speaker 3 (25:10):
Know, because cheering, I mean, it's not gonna be woohoo.
It's gonna be just clapping.

Speaker 5 (25:14):
There's definitely gonna be a movement by some of the
more what would I call them, sort of dignified members
of our fan base media, especially to encourage us not
to boom. I'm going to guess the official line of
UK will be not to boo, Mitch or maybe even Pope.

(25:35):
We'll say something like that I'm going to I mean
Jack has already done it. Tom may do that, and
I get it. I don't know that that will have
an effect through one way or the other.

Speaker 7 (25:49):
Right, it's not We've heard people saying they're gonna boot
to their throat bleeds. You're not changing minds.

Speaker 5 (25:54):
I'm sure though there will be sort of the official
line would be, hey, guys, don't do this. But I
don't really know it'll matter. But we'll see who's up next.
Shit Marty, Marty, go ahead, Marty.

Speaker 11 (26:09):
H First of all, I won't say that. You know
we're in good at hands. When it comes to Mark Pope,
I believe he's the biggest UK fan there is. If
he's a coach war basketball team. When he comes to booing,
I want to encourage people not to booler he is.
I'm on the boot train. Inside I'll be booing as
loud as you cut, but outside you gotta play the game.
He's like playing chess. You know, Arkansas season you could

(26:31):
say as a wash. So he's gonna be coming here
with all his moto, all his fire to beat us.
We're his super Bowl. So that's why I think you
want to get to him and get to him mentally,
give him the biggest state innovation you can.

Speaker 4 (26:45):
Yeah, I don't think that would work the way you think.

Speaker 5 (26:48):
I mean, look, if you could get every single person
to be dead silent, that probably would be the biggest
hard thing to process. But there's no way you're gonna
get twenty two thousand.

Speaker 4 (26:57):
People not to speak.

Speaker 5 (26:59):
So you know, I get what you're saying, but I
don't know that that would work. I appreciate the call,
all right, So right now, just to seven hundred and
fifty votes in stay silent thirty eight, boo thirty four,
cheer twenty eight.

Speaker 7 (27:15):
Oh, I thought a lot of people would smash cheer
just that weren't involved and didn't know how bad it
got to be, Like, well why would you not chee?

Speaker 5 (27:22):
That is I mean that that is a split. That's
it again. Well I'll do it at the end. But
that's like the fan base is completely divided as to
what to do.

Speaker 6 (27:32):
Which means they're gonna get all kinds of things.

Speaker 5 (27:34):
But that means if that's true, if that is what
it's like in rough, then the booze will be the
loudest because the thirty eight percent boot or right now
it's forty thirty five twenty five, the thirty five percent
booing are gonna be.

Speaker 4 (27:48):
It's not like Shannon. They're gonna boo softly.

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Right, Yeah, they're gonna be. They're gonna be probably the
most passionate out the.

Speaker 4 (27:56):
Boers are the most passionate.

Speaker 7 (27:58):
Yeah, they're not doing their Liam Cohen VOI, you're not
going boo Yeah, dude. I want to add one thing
that that has proved, like booing's not the end of
the world. The Patriots booed Tom Brady when he came
back with the Bucks. This happens is that doesn't mean

(28:18):
that he did more for the Patriots than anyone could
possibly do. But he showed up wearing the other uniform.
They booed. They love Tom Brady. That's sports. And if
we're rupp Arena, we are supposed to have a home
court advantage. We don't have one because of officiating, So
the crowd has to do the work. Why don't we
mean boo everyone?

Speaker 4 (28:36):
Is that?

Speaker 7 (28:36):
Is this not a hard concept?

Speaker 4 (28:38):
Boot on the other team?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Can I give one caveat to the boo everyone. All
right again, people can do what they want. Actually, don't
think we should boo those players a do Z and Wagner.

Speaker 4 (28:53):
Do you agree with that or no?

Speaker 7 (28:55):
I agree? But when I say boo everyone, I mean
literally anyone another uniform. When they announced the other player,
every student student section goes sucks after every player.

Speaker 4 (29:04):
That's okay, it's just me. I get it.

Speaker 5 (29:06):
But I would not boo ado Z and why. I
don't think they did anything wrong, and I wouldn't either.

Speaker 7 (29:14):
But I'm saying if people do okay, this is sport.
They do it for every starting five that's announced, I'm
not saying I would do either. I love a do
I still cheer for a dude, but if it happens, okay,
it's Roperino. We're trying to create an environment and win.
A basketball player. Shit, they left.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
They left the University of Kentucky to go play for
Caliperi University. That's what he called it, right, He said,
the campus is just moving its cal you, so that's
who you're playing for.

Speaker 7 (29:38):
I still feel bad for those guys. Honestly, when I
watch an Arkansas game, like when Big Z hit that
three at the buzzer, the first half A while ago,
I was cheering, even though I wanted Arkansas to lose.
I still root for those guys. But I'm saying if
people do boo, okay, they're on the other team, grow up.
It's sports.

Speaker 4 (29:52):
People get booed.

Speaker 7 (29:52):
We're trying to create a hostile environment to win a
basketball game.

Speaker 5 (29:56):
Twenty seven hundred votes in stay silent thirty nine, booth
thirty five, cheer twenty six. So we only have a
fourth of our fan base cheering.

Speaker 6 (30:09):
So that's what I don't know. Five thousand people now.

Speaker 5 (30:13):
I would generally say though, Twitter is like a little
more negative than RUP, but then again, last year Cal
had more support on Twitter than he did in rub
you know, I mean the loudest track, the loudest Cow
supporters were the Twitter people. Like, if you went on Facebook,
you wouldn't think Cal had any fans, but then if

(30:36):
you went on Twitter, he had a very loud section
of fans.

Speaker 4 (30:40):
I don't know, I don't know what it's gonna be.

Speaker 5 (30:42):
Like, there's a there's a fan page Shannon on On
on Twitter or scuse me, on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (30:51):
I'm not sure the name of it.

Speaker 5 (30:53):
But it is clearly run by a guy who's a
Caliperry fan because he they block any criticism of Cal
and they let people just blast Pope and it's called
like Pope's cats or something, and you're like.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
What Pope's cats, but it's a calib pro calib It
almost looks.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
Like from very moderated No.

Speaker 5 (31:13):
I think the fans on there are all are fans,
but it's it's just weird. This fan base with Cal,
it's gonna be weird. But again, after Saturday, it'll be different.
But you gotta have that one moment, you know, and
we'll see what it looks.

Speaker 6 (31:28):
Syndic get done.

Speaker 4 (31:30):
Syndicet done. How are you.

Speaker 12 (31:34):
So? Do you can? You hear me?

Speaker 4 (31:38):
Yes?

Speaker 9 (31:40):
So my thing is, if you think you're gonna boo,
ask yourself what would Pope do?

Speaker 11 (31:46):
And then next that should answer the question.

Speaker 5 (31:49):
Mark all right, let me say hang on, syndicate and
then I'll let you finish. I love Mark Pope. Mark
Pope's a great dude, but I and Mark Pope are
not the same guy, right, Like Mark Pope is a
wonderful person, but he's like he's not Jesus Christ. I
don't have to model my work life's work after Mark Pope.

Speaker 4 (32:05):
So while I love Mark Pope and.

Speaker 5 (32:07):
I think he's a wonderful person and in some ways
can be much nicer than me. This is what I
used to wear, a bracelet that said what would Jesus do?
I did until it fell off. I'm not gonna do
a what would Mark Pope do? He is a human
being and we can react to things differently.

Speaker 11 (32:23):
So I'm gonna tell you this is what I'm gonna do.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Right?

Speaker 8 (32:26):
Are you good for them?

Speaker 4 (32:28):
Yes?

Speaker 11 (32:28):
I am roasting a one hundred and fifty pound hog.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
I just ordered it.

Speaker 9 (32:33):
I got to pick it up tomorrow.

Speaker 12 (32:34):
I'm going to roast that one hundred and fifty pound hog.

Speaker 9 (32:37):
Is what I'm going to do, barbecue style, head all
feet off.

Speaker 4 (32:42):
All right, there you go? Wow? Well now is that
a lot? How much?

Speaker 2 (32:46):
Like?

Speaker 4 (32:46):
How much do hogs? What is one hundred and fifty
pounds a lot? That sounds about right?

Speaker 5 (32:51):
I don't know, you know, before I could look at
the way you better be putting on that? Tom T Hall,
Who's gonna feed them hogs? We need all of our
hogs songs, and we need the town I want you
to play. The next segment is they have a song
called Arkansas Gambler by Town Mountain.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
The chorus is like, ain't going back to Arkansas. I'm
playing that all week.

Speaker 7 (33:14):
Okay, I still got the razorbacks in my freezer. If
you all get the nuggets in my freezer, if you
get hungry, you have been sitting there since last May.
It's about time games. They're almost right roasting.

Speaker 4 (33:24):
We could roast those up at the bar after the
game's over if.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
We want to see fully grown hogs the way between
three and seven hundred pounds off.

Speaker 7 (33:32):
By a little sweet Mountain Angel Hogg.

Speaker 5 (33:39):
Okay, shit, Ryan's not here to do stock to mortgage,
so I'll tell you what we're gonna do.

Speaker 4 (33:44):
Shannon has the script.

Speaker 5 (33:45):
Drew, I want you to do as much of a
stocking mortgage ad as you could do.

Speaker 4 (33:49):
Shannon, you throw in what he misses.

Speaker 6 (33:51):
Okay, okay, all right, Drew, all right, quickly.

Speaker 7 (33:55):
This is on brand because for the pregame show yesterday,
Ryan started and then goes, you're gonna host like as
the show is on, so I can be Ryan again.
I can do a whole anything Ryan does. Stocktor Mortgage's
a great time to buy. Market's hot right now. We
got lots of locations across Kentucky. We like the MLS
UH number three something, Hey two five. There you go.
Stockton Mortgage dot com. Check it out. They're your one

(34:18):
stop shop for mortgages. I'm Ryan Lemon, and it's a
great time to buy. Thank you.

Speaker 6 (34:23):
It's pretty good.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
Doctor dot com. What else?

Speaker 3 (34:26):
Yeah, they're big on modular manufactured homeownership.

Speaker 6 (34:30):
It's achievable. You can do that.

Speaker 3 (34:31):
You can get it all in one mortgage with Stockton Mortgage.
Go to Stockton dot com, NMLS A two five nine
Equal Housing Lunder NMLS Consumer access dot org.

Speaker 4 (34:41):
So he made you.

Speaker 5 (34:42):
You made you host even though you weren't ready like
he told you at the beginning.

Speaker 7 (34:46):
You're yeah on the air, billion knows Ryan let us
in and then throw it to me, and I was like,
all right, what is this show called? So it was
a we had a good pregame show, but a short
notice for me, and you know, I was ready, but
just maybe maybe a little more game planning before we
were live would have would have worked out.

Speaker 5 (35:01):
All right, let me let me get the final results
here after fifteen minutes, uh before the trolls all ended
up taking over. Final results thirty eight percent silent, thirty
four boo, twenty seven cheer. So it's pretty split. But
the thirty eight percent silent, your vote won't register because

(35:21):
you'll be silent. Tuld be the other people who make
the noise. We'll take a break of be right back
is this KSR. I ain't going back to Arkansas. I'd
be all right chanting if we never went back to Tarkansas.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Yeah, only time I went there. We went through the
ozarks and we what does that place?

Speaker 6 (35:38):
Who to thunk it?

Speaker 4 (35:38):
Or who to thunk? Yea?

Speaker 5 (35:39):
Yeah, than Bill's all right, And I've heard there are
other nice places, but I personally it was worth going
the Little Rock. The Clinton Museum is cool. I still
can't believe in the Clinton Museum they put all the
Monica Lewinsky stuff, Shane it like they put it all there,
Like if it was my museum, I'd be like, can
we leave that stuff out? My life's coming, you know,
if we had to forget that happened, we had to

(36:00):
put this any like she's gonna be here in this
minute like you.

Speaker 4 (36:03):
But it's all in there, and so it's always kind
of interesting.

Speaker 5 (36:07):
Right now, looks like it's gonna be stay silent slightly,
then booth and cheer, so it's gonna be loud. I
think when when he gets introduced, we got a lot
of people on, so we might as well give him
a chance before we do it. Real quick DraftKings. Uh,
let's go to Draft Kings and download this app. Use
promo code KSR bet five. You can get two hundred
dollars in free bonus bets from Draft Kings. Let's make

(36:28):
our picks here. Auburn is at LSU drew any chance
LSU wins?

Speaker 4 (36:32):
Or is Auburn roll?

Speaker 7 (36:34):
Auburn's gonna roll. We really need Auburn to quit playing
basketball so we can have a shot at this.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
They're pretty good.

Speaker 5 (36:39):
Texas is at Old Miss any chance Texas goes on
the row? Oh Miss only a six point favorite, which
I find kind of odd.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
Only six at home. No o Miss is one of
that all right?

Speaker 5 (36:50):
Then the big one Alabama at Mississippi State. Mississippi State's
the favorite.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Guys. Wow, what do you think about that?

Speaker 7 (37:00):
I saw that this morning. This is the spread that
threw me off.

Speaker 4 (37:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
I would take Alabama, I think on this even on
the road on the Alabama, I.

Speaker 4 (37:07):
Would take Alabama to Mississippi States.

Speaker 5 (37:09):
But like there's Misssippi State can't score outscore Alabama?

Speaker 4 (37:12):
Can they drew?

Speaker 7 (37:14):
I mean, Hubbard's tough, but Alabama has a lot of
scores and they have Hubbard. I don't think so I
would like the role.

Speaker 4 (37:21):
It feels like they're finding themselves a little bit. I
like Alabama. I'm really surprised by that spread. All right,
who's next?

Speaker 5 (37:28):
All right, let's go to Adam Adam, go ahead at them.

Speaker 8 (37:32):
Uh, hey, guys, the other I guess it was yesterday's
show you talked about uh being a realistic that Kentucky
ghost nine and nine in the SCC.

Speaker 5 (37:42):
So with the win last night, that puts US at
four and three and that man, that means three finish
out the season five and six the rest of the
way in conference.

Speaker 8 (37:50):
So that's still realistic.

Speaker 5 (37:52):
Yeah, I know I would if I were making my
in season predictions. Now I'm looking at like ten and
eight because I didn't expect us to win that game, right,
So so you know.

Speaker 8 (38:03):
I appreciate So where do those wins come from?

Speaker 5 (38:06):
I think if I were to pick the most likely wins,
I appreciates call Saturday against Arkansas, then South Carolina the
LSU that will get us to seven. I think we, uh,
who else do we play? At home Vandy? I think
we went bandy at home, that's eight. Then I think
we steal one of at Texas and at Oklahoma. I

(38:27):
think we get at least one of those that gets
us to nine, and then between Auburn, Tennessee Bam at
home we end up winning one of those tim maybe
even get to eleven.

Speaker 4 (38:36):
Drew, That's kind of where I am right now. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (38:39):
I like to check Ken Palm after games, and he's
you know, it always updates. He has Kentucky winning at
Texas and Oklahoma by one point now and only losing
four more games, and I believe that makes them the
four seed in the tournament with all those projections. But
I mean that looked completely different before yesterday. Chos, how
quickly it can change.

Speaker 5 (38:56):
Yeah, I mean now that the path is a lot greater,
the path is a lot better. I mean, you know,
you play at Old Miss Tuesday nine. Let's say you
beat Arkansas and then you play at Old Miss Tuesday night.
If you steal that game, now, I think we're right
back there trying to fight for a double by I mean,
that's how big that game was last night, So you know,
beat Arkansas, get to five and three if you can

(39:17):
find a way to win an old miss and go
six and three. All right, now we're now we're cooking
with grease, right, and it's gonna I'm gonna continue to
say cooking with grease, Shannon, because people want to say
cooking with wire fire.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
But it's grease. That's what we said. That's the right.
I don't like when people.

Speaker 6 (39:31):
Be cooking with a grease fire.

Speaker 7 (39:32):
How about baking grease this week? That's what I'm cooking with.

Speaker 4 (39:35):
Who's up next? Mark? Mark? Go ahead? And Mark?

Speaker 12 (39:39):
Yeah, Hey, guys, A couple of things. I think all
these national audiences, you know, I just don't think they
have a rite in this message. So I'm I'm not
gonna fall at all. I'm gonna be silent. And let
me say this. When I when I started dating and
looking for a wife, I had one rule, which she
couldn't be a Louisvile fan. Second think I did is

(40:00):
when my mom passed away, I looked at the Kentucky
schedule and I didn't plan the funeral around the date
when they played. So who cares what national folks say
or do right, so John cal Perry. But look at him,
he's very transactional, which is fine. He got paid millions
of dollars. So at the end of the day, whatever

(40:21):
you want to do as a fan, do it, and
it's all good for me.

Speaker 4 (40:27):
Silent, all right, I agree with that.

Speaker 5 (40:30):
Wow, change like set the date for the mother's funeral,
drew around the games. Now that one goes on the
list of like amazing Kentucky fans stories.

Speaker 4 (40:41):
That's on the list.

Speaker 7 (40:42):
Oh yeah, that's a diehard Kentucky fan. I bet some
of our listeners are thinking, yeah, I did that too,
or have another example of how crazy we are.

Speaker 4 (40:49):
Let me do fair. They play on Saturday. He just
have the funeral on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (40:53):
Chanted, what's another twenty four hours?

Speaker 4 (40:55):
Huh yeah, it's the day lord.

Speaker 6 (40:57):
Anyway, you know they're not going anywhere.

Speaker 4 (41:00):
It's drunk. Adlin, Go ahead, Adelin.

Speaker 5 (41:10):
Go ahead, first time, long time.

Speaker 4 (41:16):
Who are what's up? Adelin?

Speaker 2 (41:21):
I'm so glad we beat Tennessee because I can't stand
that orange big key.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
Yeah, it's terrible, isn't it.

Speaker 5 (41:29):
It's an ugly orange, Like you would never wear that color,
would you?

Speaker 4 (41:33):
No? No, it's ugly.

Speaker 5 (41:36):
It's like the puke inside of a pumpkin orange like,
it's just terrible, Adelin.

Speaker 4 (41:41):
Are we gonna beat Arkansas on Saturday?

Speaker 6 (41:44):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (41:45):
All right, that's all I.

Speaker 12 (41:46):
Needed to dirty stinking hogs very much.

Speaker 5 (41:52):
But there we got the right there alright, Adelin, thank
you very much. How about how about that video Drew?
That was a great you know Kobe Bryan the little
Tennessee kid last night, wasn't it? That was kind of sweet,
wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (42:05):
It was?

Speaker 7 (42:06):
As much as I liked that, though, I liked who
ever put Ziggler's face on the little kid with the
photoshop and bread taking the picture that I like that
even better. But no, that was a fun moment. We
keep getting these moments after every game. But there's a
story on KSR. Now, Pope just took somebody's phone and
FaceTime their grandmother after the game.

Speaker 4 (42:21):
It's exactly a team.

Speaker 5 (42:23):
This is a team you take home to mom, right Like,
this is definitely a you take home to mom.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
You know the Wall.

Speaker 5 (42:31):
Cousins team that was that was a date. That was
a date for fun. This is a team that you
take home to mom.

Speaker 4 (42:39):
And that's fair.

Speaker 5 (42:40):
Sweet sweet Mountain Angel Babies will be back at KOs
Bar Tomorrow, Wingsday, the rest of the day, You see
you later.
