Speaker 4 (01:05):
Welcome back out number two Kentucky Sports Radio eight five
nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Here it's
ks Bar and Grill. Folks ordering this morning already seven
seven two seven seven four five two five four big
Happy birthday coming this weekend to our friend Dick Tamer
in Middlesbrough. Dick Tamer, Yes, so happy birthday you, Dick.
Hope you have a great weekend. Joe Packs Okay, so
(01:27):
Joe's driving. Apparently people call it Joe Packs Joe Pax.
I just showed you a picture that looks like a
place that you would produce some pretty amazing fried chicken,
don't you think after you.
Speaker 5 (01:37):
Show me the picture? I mean he looked up how
long it was gonna take to get there. It's two
and a half hours from Lexington, but may.
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Be worth it. You think it's worth it, Maybe worth
it to go eat. It looks like, though, the kind
of place that would have fried. You're looking skeptical, Mario.
I mean, maybe we'll send you on a food review
like that one kid I always see on TikTok he
gave us. He gave his first bad food review, by
the way, You know that one kid out showing you
about I saw he gave his first bad food review
to a place I'm not gonna say where it was.
(02:03):
I don't want to throw him under the bus, but
I felt bad. He's he always likes every single place
he eats, and he didn't like this one place he
was a place in Louisill didn't like him. That's a
tough look.
Speaker 6 (02:12):
He's got a big following, So yes, I make the
trip of Mario, though.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
If I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. Before
we go to the phones, a couple of things. Nate
Oates was in Lexington yesterday. Why was he in Lexington yesterday?
I don't know. He was on a plane flu commercial.
That's also I thought he was on and he was
on a Delta flight. Had not one, not two, but
three different people from three different plane angles take a
picture of him in the plane, which I gotta tell you, man, Nate,
(02:39):
you can't come to Lexi to not have people know
who you like. When I see three different angles of
you on the plane, then I know you're on the plane. Yeah,
he must not know the strength of v different numbers.
But he was in Lexington, so you want to just
wildly speculate it would Travis Perry be a Nate Oates
kind of player. It was actually the Alabama game where
(03:00):
he's seen, That's true. It was the Alabama games where
which kind of made me wonder how he was gonna
play at Kentucky. Would be very ironic if he ended
up going to Alabama.
Speaker 6 (03:08):
Right, they like shooters, wouldn't surprise me. Maybe he just
wanted to take in Keenland on a Thursday.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Could be that could be it. My thought went to
Taylor Kenny.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
I mean, I know he could have flown into Cincinnati,
but maybe he couldn't get a flight into Cincinnati, so
you had to fly.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
How you would fly to Lexington to go see a
kid in Newport? You'd fly to sent It.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
I gonnay, unless he had to do it today and
he couldn't get a flight there. Would he be coming
in to meet with Otega trust trying to convince him
to go.
Speaker 4 (03:31):
To Wait a minute, well, first of all, take a kick.
He's can't getting the portal. I tried. He didn't meanner
the point? Would you just throw that in there? We
were spitballing? Yeah, I didn't like that.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Spitball Maybe rented a car and went to Joe's Fried
Chicken after reading that story.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Yeah, well anyway, so, uh, I'm gonna gas threw just
guessing you would think maybe Travis Perry, right.
Speaker 6 (03:51):
Yeah, if it's basketball related, I don't know much much
else is gonna be other than Travis Perry. I'll tell
myself Keenland though, that he's not talking to Perry.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
SEC schools have talked to Perry though, so it wouldn't
shock me.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Is he gonna You think he's gonna end up in
the SEC?
Speaker 6 (04:05):
I told you all that on Monday. That's what I expect.
You expect him at Old miss I would say they're
the leader. I did not expect that many schools to
reach out to him. I know Flora is interested in Missouri.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Calla Perry who didn't even want to recruit him.
Speaker 6 (04:20):
What if he I don't want him to leave, But
I'm glad that these schools are reaching out to him
because I feel like our fan base was a little
too harsh in some of the schools. There were like
trying to push him off to Murray and Bellerman. I
think people have been a little too critical of Travis Perry.
The fact that all these coaches are talking to him.
It says he's he has value, even though he does
have some flaws.
Speaker 4 (04:39):
What at the end of the day with Travis are
you Let's just say you were Travis Perry's dad, okay,
and he came to you and said, Dad, what should
I do? Excuse me? Yeah, Dad? What should I do?
Would you have said gut it out another year at
Kentucky or would you have said look somewhere else. Let's
(05:00):
assume the money would be equal.
Speaker 6 (05:02):
If the money's equal, I would encourage him to stay home.
But if they're promising more money and more playing time,
I don't care how much you grew up love in Kentucky.
You at some point got to take care of yourself.
Speaker 4 (05:12):
So what's the difference in amount of money. Let's just
say this is just I'm just ballparking. Let's say he
was making two hundred thousand dollars. What's the amount of
money more that would make you go, I'm going to
leave Kentucky and go to Old Miss? Would it be?
I think we all would agree. If it was four hundred,
(05:32):
you probably go, yeah. Do you go at three hundred?
You gotta remember he.
Speaker 6 (05:37):
Was close to Old Miss anyway, in the original recruitment,
they were very high up. So he already has that connection,
you know, I know he grew up Kentucky. He had
it on his walls. We all think of Wildcat forever.
But he he really considered other schools your first time around.
So if they came by and doubled the money and said, okay,
three hundred plus, we don't have nearly this crowded of
a backcourt.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
So that's one hundred thousand more dollars.
Speaker 6 (05:59):
Yes, yeah, I think you gotta consider he's not gonna
go pro and make a ton of money to.
Speaker 4 (06:03):
Fifty Likedrew said, fifty thousand more dollars.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
Ole Miss was the first school to even really recruit him.
Speaker 4 (06:11):
Answering the questions fifty thousand more dollars, yes or no.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
You're a competitor man, you want to play, and if
somebody's offered me more money into school, I already like
I'm probably taking.
Speaker 4 (06:21):
It even episode. Yes, I might even go even money.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
Even money you would leave if I'm gonna if I
just want to go play somewhere, if I just want
to go and be on the court and compete and
play less one hundred and fifty, I'm not going less,
Well I'm not going less.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Okay, So you're willing to go for the same money,
but you wouldn't go for less money.
Speaker 5 (06:41):
If I knew I was gonna have a better chance
to get on the court and play.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Okay, school, So now, let's let's assume Travis Perry goes
to an SEC school old Man, Well, take Arkansas out
of it. Let's see me. Let's assume he goes to
old miss Alabama, Florida.
Speaker 8 (06:58):
Missouri, then Belts also on the list.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
All right, let's assume he goes to one of those
schools he comes into rupt. Would we all agree he
would get a round of applause? I think so. It's hard.
There are people online.
Speaker 6 (07:11):
You gotta remind yourself this is just a few anonymous
people being jerks on the internet.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
I think he gets a round of applause. Yeah, Now,
what happens if he goes to another school and scores
fifteen points against us?
Speaker 8 (07:28):
We should have kept him on the team.
Speaker 4 (07:31):
Why didn't keep him?
Speaker 8 (07:33):
That's what you're gonna get.
Speaker 4 (07:35):
That's happened before, you know, with Chris Lofton and Chris Lofton.
Though Chris Lofton, we didn't recruit him, but I don't,
but it was because we had like four Like, there's
a belief, which I'm not saying is true, that Travis
Perry there's a belief amongst some of our fans he's
not good enough to play. Now. I don't necessarily believe that,
but there's a group of people that believe that. Does
(07:58):
I mean, does let me put a different Is there
any fan that thinks Travis Perry should be the starting
point guard next year? No? Not what the roster we
got right now? Okay, so let's assume that's the case.
Is there any fan out there that thinks he should
have the same role next year he had last year,
which is to be the number when people got hurt,
the number one point guard off the bench, that maybe
(08:20):
we shouldn't have gone and gotten Aberdeen and we should
have left him. Does anybody believe that? I think there
are fans. I think there are something believed.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
But I think we saw Colin Chandler even leap frogged
him as far as being a backup point guard.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
So if old Miss Alabama Florida says you're the backup
point guard, does our fan base believe Mark Pope should
have said you're the backup point guard. My answer to
that is no, I don't think Mark Pope should have
said that, but him not saying it is probably why
he left. So I guess what I'm saying is if
(08:56):
he comes back here with another school and wins or plays,
I still don't know what you wanted Mark Pope to do.
Speaker 6 (09:02):
Yeah, right, And my understanding is some of these offers
are more money too, so it's a combination of playing
opportunity and more money.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
That's why he has to consider this. Would you rather
Kentucky not have gotten Jaden quaintance to make for the
money that they paid him to make sure Travis Perry's stand.
Speaker 5 (09:20):
No, No, I guess the argument is Aberdeen. I think
when he came to Kentucky. I think that kind of
sends the deal Travis anyway.
Speaker 4 (09:27):
So let's put it this way, would you rather have
Aberdeen or Perry next year? Because ultimately that was the decision.
I'm a big believer before you criticize somebody, you have
to put yourself in their shoes and see what decision
would you have made your flap plight faced with Travis
(09:49):
Perry's folks say, if you get Aberdeen we're leaving. If
you're Mark Pope, are you taking Aberdeen? Are you taking parent? Listen?
Speaker 6 (09:56):
I love Travis Perry, and I think people are being
too critical. But you have a job to have your
best roster. And Aberdeen just won a national championship. Probably
would have started at Florida if there weren't so loaded,
So yes, you have to get out of your Dane Aberdeen, Shannon,
who you getting?
Speaker 9 (10:07):
Gott?
Speaker 4 (10:07):
I get?
Speaker 3 (10:07):
I mean, the guy just won a national championship with Florida.
Why would you not take that guy? He was projected
to be in their starting lineup next year? You wouldn't
take that guy? Of course you would.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
I love Travis Perry. He was in this bar his freshman, sophomore, junior,
and senior year at the Stay, at the state championship.
I love Travis Perry. It's a business. It is a business.
You're taking Aberdeen. In my opinion, what are you doing?
I am making unanimous? I think you do.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
I mean, the dude is a proven winner. Travis is
still trying to prove himself. So I think you take Aberdeen?
Speaker 4 (10:36):
Okay, So where are unanimous? I guess I would ask
the fans seven seven two seven seven four five two
five four. What do you think? Because here's what I
think is gonna happen. Let's say he goes to Vandy
and he comes in here and scores fifteen, which is
something I could see happening. Absolutely, it could happen. Then
what is our fan base gonna say? I think that's
gonna be interesting to see. Who's up next? Nathan, Nathan,
(10:57):
go ahead, Nathan.
Speaker 10 (11:00):
Hey, I had a question about n I l So,
if Mark Pope can raise between ten and twenty million
dollars for NIL from private donors, why can't they just
use that and then the part of the school page
goes all to football and other sports.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Or there or is there? Yeah, I mean they could.
I mean I mean they could, and that might be
a strategy that they use. I mean I mean they could.
I think what Mark Pope would say is, why is
it my responsibility to raise fifteen dollars?
Speaker 10 (11:37):
Yeah, if they can.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Could do that, I'm sure. Go ahead.
Speaker 10 (11:45):
Huh oh sorry, Now I was if they had a
GM or somebody, you know, with they could focus on
raising money for that and then this part of the
school goes to other things. The more people are probably
more more willing to give money for better But.
Speaker 4 (12:01):
Again, Mark, you're still asking Mark. Mark Pope would probably say,
and I appreciate the call, why should I have to
raise all the money for football? Right yeah? And Mark
Stoops would almost certainly say the same thing if it
was opposite. So I mean, I in a perfect world,
if Mark Pope could raise twenty million dollars and that's
(12:22):
what you need, you could just go, well, we're not
gonna use any of our school money because Mark can
already do it. But then you're punishing it. Let me
just put myself in that in those shoes. Sometimes at
this radio station, this show generates so much revenue that
we are asked in some ways to subsidize other parts
(12:43):
of the business. And there's a part of me that goes,
I understand that, But then there's a part of me going,
you're punishing us for our success. Right, yes, I think
that would be kind of what's happening in the situation
you're talking about.
Speaker 5 (12:55):
So what if there is a booster they'd say, say
Drew Franklin wants to donate five million dollars, but just basketball, then.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
You would do that. They would do that through Club Blue,
and you could do that today and there are people
that do that, and I would say there are more
people that actually oddly do that for football because Mark
Stoops has cultivated some really close personal relationships. There are
donors who give money and they say this money is
for football and that's how it's done. There are donors
(13:23):
who go who give only to volleyball. I know of
one who gives a decent sum of money, but only
under the understanding this goes for volleyball. So that happens,
I think quite a bit.
Speaker 6 (13:36):
I was about to say that about baseball. I know
people that are cut a big check, but they say,
I only want this to go to the baseball program.
Speaker 5 (13:41):
It's just so I won't change even under the new LLC,
that part will not change.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
Well, again, this is very complicated. Part of the settlement
with the court suggests that no inile money can be
used to recruit. I've heard people say that no one
believes that can be enforced, and it will not being forced.
But in theory, that's what it's supposed to do in theory,
in theory, in practice, I would be shocked if that
(14:09):
is that was originally I was supposed to be in
that work for about a week U this Mother's Day.
Make your mom a great lunch or dinner with no
Chay Linda Farms beef. How about that? That would be
great for my mom. I could make her beef for
a look, you would make her some beef. I don't
know if she would like it, but I think it
would be a wonderful gesture on my part. Would you
(14:29):
grill from no Chay lendafarms dot com and call eight
five nine seven oh seven, seven thousand and four. I
put it on the grill because they have the best
bet beef. They've got Tomahawks steaks, bone in Delmonico steaks.
They're bone in Delmonico steaks are named to the fa
are our name for the famous Delmonico steakhouse in New York. Okay,
(14:50):
so no Chay Linda Farms go ahead and order. Tell
them that KSR senate. They've got all the flavor, all
the beef. They'll deliver it. It is no Chay lendofarms
dot com. I went to their website yesterday. You kind
of look. They got a new website, very nicely done,
and you can order on there. It's no Cha Linda
Farms dot com. We'll take a break it is lunch
here on a Friday at KOs Bar. It's Kentucky sports
(15:11):
radio worker back, it is Kentucky Sports Radio. Here, it's
Chaos Bar and grill. Pat's in the house. How you doing, Pat?
Gonna see you? I haven't seen you.
Speaker 5 (15:20):
Sh She's been by more remotes than anybody, now.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
That's probably true her and what's his face? Brian? That
laughs really like big Brian Brian. Those are probably the
two that have been to the most. We'll be doing
some more summer remotes than we have. By the way,
if you own a business, we have a new thing
we're gonna do this summer where we will come to
your place, but you can't have a crowd, So we'll
do a remote at your place. But it's less like
(15:45):
it doesn't cost as much, but we will come to
your place, do the remote, give you the ads, but
we don't have a crowd. And we're gonna do some
of those hopefully for people who like want to have remotes,
but it's expensive to have us for remotes maybe a
little bit less expensive and we but we just don't
bring the crowd. You can call iHeart and they can
do that, and that's kind of a nice way to
go to some different places. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (16:05):
Yeah, gmbilly kind of gave us our updated schedule of
our remotes coming up this summer.
Speaker 4 (16:09):
We got a lot of them coming up. Yeah. One person, rights, Matt,
I think you are unfair to Travis Perry because he's
not from the six soh six. If he was from
eastern Kentucky, you would have a much more powerful view
that he should be on the team. No, I would not.
I too much criticism over the years have always taken
(16:29):
the view that why I want to have a Kentucky
kid on the team, like a Kentucky kid just because
I think that's good. You play the best players, You don't,
I mean, you play the best players. This is as
to quote John cal Perry, this is not for funsies, right,
So we got to win and there will be nothing
worse than playing all the kids that would make our
heart full, and then we lose and then everybody gets
(16:52):
mad at those kids, right. We don't want that. So
while I'd love for Travis to be on the team,
but like, let's be real, if we were playing next year. Again,
I hate saying this because I think the kid's awesome
and I want him to succeed, but if he were
(17:13):
on the team next year, he would be the thir
twelfth or thirteenth man. So I understand if someone else
is offering him better than that, Drew, I understand why
he would go.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
And you know, this is just the world right now
with the nil Who's to say some of the Kentucky
guys that are coming in, are already on the team
or on down the road won't play a year and
then go off somewhere because someone steals them. At the
end of the day, your your opportunity, and your the
paycheck you're gonna be getting is gonna win out over
the Kentucky dream.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
What person writes Matt. My wife and I are huge
fans of KSR, and we also like some of the
shows on Barstools. So I was excited to tell my
wife yesterday that you, Drew and Mario were going to
the barstool Gala. My wife's first comment was, what in
the world is Matt gonna wear? First of all, your
wife does not have a lot of faith in my fashion.
(18:06):
Maybe maybe correctly.
Speaker 5 (18:08):
I really think you should go with the Barney Purple
Dinosaur suit.
Speaker 4 (18:11):
You order the Oaks Company. You can do that So
there's a guy here in Lexington who apparently is like
a high class fashion guy, and Albert Carture that's his name.
What's his name? I think it's Albert Corture Couture, I
believe so, and I and I have a person who
knows him trying to get in touch with him, because
I was like, hey, man, think about like this. If
(18:32):
you make me look good with clothes, then that's gonna
be like wow. If he did that with Matt, you
can do that with anybody, can do that with anybody.
But I guess it's derby season and he must be
busy because I have so I don't know if Albert's
out there. I already have a rain Couture jacket here
you go from Amsterdam. I think if Albert Couture is
(18:52):
out there, I would uh, I'll pay for it. I
just need to know what to wear.
Speaker 6 (18:55):
I went the traditional Logans route yesterday. It's a good one.
Speaker 4 (18:58):
I was in there.
Speaker 6 (18:59):
Multiple people were asking if this was for the gala.
I even had some nice women who heard the show
asked if Ryan's okay. I kind of let him know
that was a little bit of bit. Ryan's fine, But
it's the talk of the lex and fashion scene right now?
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Do you know what you're gonna wear?
Speaker 11 (19:11):
Mario?
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Not yet? Okay, yeah, well I mean you. My guess
is you'll make it work. When you're your age, you
can wear most of you get older, it's got to
be better because, like you know, the raw materials aren't
quite as good as they were. I didn't wear that.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
I didn't go tuks, just regular black suit. Okay, I'm
not going full black, a.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
Little bit spicier if I can find the if I
can find the right thing, who's next, Adam, Adam, go ahead, Adam.
Speaker 9 (19:39):
I guys, I had a question in a comment question
I was listening to the source of say and Tilgram
and trum Smith said that they thought they had the
vibe that Kentucky was the cool school. Again, not quite
the same as when Cala Perry took over, but he
said they both said that they thought that's what the
(20:01):
vibe that they were getting with the Portal and High
school recruiting.
Speaker 4 (20:06):
Well, they would know better than me. I don't. I
don't know if that's I don't know if I totally
agree with that. I mean, are we the cool school?
We will never ever ever be a cooler school than
we were from twenty ten to like twenty eighteen, Like
we were the coolest school in bat And you know,
(20:27):
do you know what I think changed that a little bit.
Who's the player that might have changed that a little bit?
Is that making us cool? No go in the like
making us not the coolest anyone?
Speaker 6 (20:40):
Taking away?
Speaker 4 (20:41):
No not. I mean I still think we were when
John Wall got here for eight or nine years, we
were the coolest school in the country. I think Zion
changed it a little bit. I think Zion flipped the
view of what Duke was. Yes to people, they went
from like the dorky whatever school too, and I think
(21:01):
Duke then flipped it a little bit. But I don't think.
I do think. I don't think we're considered like dorky.
But I don't know if we're the hot school that's like,
let's go there because that's where you know, I don't
know if.
Speaker 6 (21:13):
That's the camp so right now where they're rich school,
that's why they're probably.
Speaker 4 (21:16):
That's probably true.
Speaker 6 (21:18):
They're seeing these social media graphics, whether they're true or not.
That's all over the internet.
Speaker 4 (21:21):
I mean, money will make you a lot cooler.
Speaker 9 (21:23):
That's true that that was going to lead into my comment.
I saw a lot of just negative comments about you know,
whatever the Nile number is, if it's twenty million, fifteen nine, whatever,
it is a lot of negative comments about that. People
positive like.
Speaker 4 (21:38):
Yeah, those people. If you're complaining that we're spending too
much money on innil, Like, what do you want? I mean,
you want to appreciate the call? Let me baseball is
the only sport without a salary cap. Would you rather
cheer for the Dodgers and the Yankees or would you
(21:59):
rather cheer for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays? Like you
want to cheer for the team that spends money, right.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Yes, that's why are there are so many Yankees fans
even in this town.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Pirates. Okay, you're a Pirates fan. I'm
a Reds fan. What's hard is if we but if
we had the ability to re sign Paul Schemes and
Elie de la Cruz, wouldn't we say do it? Even
if it was seventy five million dollars? It's not our money, right,
we'd say do it. So I feel like UK fans
(22:31):
should be happy there are people willing it's not your money.
If they're doing it, be happy about it.
Speaker 6 (22:36):
Yeah, if we're not on these graphics of spending the most,
we're not mentioned at all. And I'd much further be
on these graphics if they're exaggerated as the school panel lot.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
I mean, you think Saint John's fans sit there and go,
I wish we were back to spending no money. No,
I mean I wouldn't think so, do you. No, they're
relevant again.
Speaker 5 (22:54):
You know, the guy said he thought we were the
cool school again, and it's hard to accept that when
we have a pretty dorky head coach leading our way.
He's self proclaimed.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Or I mean you watched the team last year. I
don't know that anybody looked at that team Shannon a
lot where like these dudes are like the cool either.
Speaker 8 (23:12):
No, no, no, not that adjutive mean we had like.
Speaker 4 (23:15):
Four players on the team married, you know, I mean
they were they were, they were just a different kind
of group. Yeah. But at the end of the day,
no matter how much we uh, how much we pay,
whether they're cool or not, it's all about whether you win.
If you win, you're cool. Be right back. TJ Smith,
(23:37):
personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.
Speaker 8 (23:44):
Here's Matt Jones.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio eight five nine, twenty two
eighty seven. Here at kspar. You said, well, first of all,
by the way, my trivia is Tuesday. Get your team together.
There are three more trivias between now and the end
of the Uh. The next one is Tuesday. I've already
written like a third of the questions, so we're raid rock.
So uh, Tuesday is the next one, So get your
(24:08):
team ready. You said you might have an explanation as
to why Nate Oates was here.
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Allegedly there is a horse farm owner here in central
Kentucky that is a huge Alabama booster and supporter, and
that Nick Saban has even flown up here to visit
him at the farm. But Nick Saban did not fly commercial.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
That's what I was gonna say. Like, if it was
a huge booster and he was visiting him, don't you
think you'd get a he'd play for the private flight?
You would think he was dealta premium economy. It was premium,
but he wasn't even business class. He was premium economy.
Those don't even come with free drinks.
Speaker 8 (24:43):
So it's a Scooper scotto.
Speaker 5 (24:44):
But this is no I'm not going either one. I'm
just saying that's a.
Speaker 4 (24:47):
Are you.
Speaker 8 (24:49):
Sar anymore?
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Have you been scooped? Uh? Too scared for him? Uh? Well?
The one that mongooth in walk. That's not a name.
You've got to pronounce people's name ames correctly, or just
say the kid from San Diego State he was.
Speaker 5 (25:03):
I felt really good about that information. That was good,
solid information. It was mine decided to go back to
San Diego State. But when we said it, it was good stuff.
Speaker 4 (25:12):
But doesn't it ultimately only matter when it's over. This
is why you maybe say scoop today, but it could change. Okay,
use those words.
Speaker 6 (25:23):
Yeah, not two commitments this week?
Speaker 4 (25:26):
Be ready? Yeah? Two commitments this week? Be ready? You're
that's very defendive, spaniard.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
Good dude was ready to go, and then he went
home and they couldn't couldn't wait on him to come back.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
Yes, they moved on with that move past you. Let's
just play. I don't want to talk the details of
this because it's I don't like talking about such subjects,
but just make a bet. Will Shannon Sharpe ever be
on espny.
Speaker 5 (25:49):
I don't know how they can to be honest. I
mean not in this day and age and things like that.
Speaker 4 (25:53):
Having you, Yeah, Shannon, it's never a good idea when
your defense is least the whole sex tape.
Speaker 8 (26:02):
Yeah, I wouldn't you know what I mean?
Speaker 4 (26:05):
Yeah, Like when that's your best argument, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (26:11):
At that point, maybe don't speak maybe fun yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
And then forget about the details of it. Here's a
little tip, all right, So everybody who has something happened,
A lot of the famous ones they hire a PR company. Yes, Right,
Scott Jennings who's on TV. His like his whole business
is if somebody has a crisis, they call him and
he tells them what to say. Right, So, like people
(26:38):
have PR companies, And honestly, it's kind of like a lawyer.
People always say, well, if you if you get arrested
and you ask to talk to your lawyer, that must
mean you're guilty. I always say to people, if you're
guilty and you get arrested, call lawyer. But if you're innocent,
you should really call a lawyer. Right. That's even more
(27:02):
with Shandon Charp, I'm he has a PR company, I'm sure,
but the PR company. He released his statement, and he
released it as a text message he had received. Did
anyone notice that, like, look at his statement online?
Speaker 8 (27:17):
Didn't bother to retype it professionally?
Speaker 4 (27:19):
He just shot He didn't. He it's a text message
that's on the left of the screen, which means you
got it sent to you. He shan He didn't even
put it on the right side of the screen.
Speaker 3 (27:33):
For him, Like, let's not have Shannon Sharp involved in
any of the released statements or anything.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Could he not have at least like cut it so
it was not obvious that it was sent to him
from someone else.
Speaker 6 (27:45):
I save and copy the text and put it in
a nice graphic, maybe even say it into a video.
Speaker 4 (27:50):
Call Mario and have him make a graphic. Mark can
make a TikTok for him. I just when you are
screenshotting a text message someone sent you as your statement,
I'm just I feel like, dude, you need to take
some time and because you're not hand on this right.
Speaker 6 (28:07):
Cat Williams Wardam earlier this year said everything's coming to
light in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Well, Cat Williams, but you you work at ESPN. Do
you think they have to put it they will put
it back. I mean no, no, not certainly, not now.
I don't think so either certain certain I mean, you know,
maybe one day, but not not anytime soon. Who's up next?
Speaker 8 (28:28):
Let's go to Arion?
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Arian?
Speaker 12 (28:30):
Go ahead, Arian, Hey, Matt, first time, long time?
Speaker 4 (28:34):
Who are uh?
Speaker 2 (28:36):
So?
Speaker 12 (28:37):
I just had a quick question. So, like you, I'm
also a Chicago bearsan, and I was a little bit
puzzled at the pick with Colton Lovelin. I know he
was a great tight end at Michigan, but like we
already have Cole Kames, and I just didn't think that
was like a primary need that we needed to address.
So I guess my question to you is, at that
position in tenth overall, who would your ideal home run
(29:00):
pick for the Bears have been?
Speaker 4 (29:03):
I was fine with the tight end because our new
coach and again I don't really know what I'm talking about,
but our new coach is very like his offense. You
need athletic tight ends who can get down the field,
and apparently this kid is that. I would admit I
didn't know his name until five days ago, but I
thought a tight end was fine. To be honest with you,
(29:24):
I mean, I think the Bears can be good this year,
and so I'm okay getting a threat to help us. Plus,
I think again, from what I'm told, Ben Johnson plays
two tight ends a lot, so now we have two
tight ends.
Speaker 12 (29:36):
That draft analysis, Yeah, I'm really hopeful for Ben Johnson,
but I just ideally for me would have been the
home run.
Speaker 4 (29:46):
But I'm telling yeah, but he was gone, Yeah, he
was gone. I'd love to have had gent. I appreciate
the call. I'd love to have to have had him.
He's going to the Raiders. Raiders.
Speaker 6 (29:56):
So did you think my Titans should have taken that
trade that was full of picks?
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Because I do, Yes, I was not happy. I mean,
if you listen to the experts, they say that cam
Ward would have been like the fourth highest picked quarterback
last year. So if that's true, you know, just punt.
I mean, you got stink, you need everything. We could
have got quarterback next year.
Speaker 6 (30:16):
We could have gotten Abdul Carter, who's a sure thing
and who I wanted. Anyway, I was even though I'll
get excited for Ward. I once it came out with
the Giants offered, is like, how did you turn that down?
Speaker 4 (30:26):
I'll ask you a question, will will Levis start one
game for any team next year? Remember that doesn't mean
you have to be started day one. He could be
a reserve that comes in. But if you if you
had to make a bet, will Levis start one game
in the NFL next year for.
Speaker 6 (30:42):
Any team, I'll say yes. Okay, what do you think?
Speaker 5 (30:46):
I say yes because he'll be a backup and then
they just get forced into action.
Speaker 4 (30:50):
Will he be on Tennessee? Unlikely?
Speaker 6 (30:53):
I think, will you know, I'm not gonna sit here
and act like will Is gonna be a great quarterback.
But I still think that was an unfair situation because
the Titans were so bad. He was constantly scrambling for
his life back there. I think wherever he goes, he
deserves a fresh start, and hopefully people will we'll look
at him with an open mind to decide is what
happens at his next step. But the Titans just sucked
last year and he wasn't the whole problem.
Speaker 4 (31:14):
I know no details about this at all, so I'm
not taking a stance one way or the other. But
I just saw a headline. When you at when people
ask me, what are the headlines that make you worried
about the future? Of the country. This is a headline
that makes me. FBI arrests judge in Wisconsin for immigration decision.
(31:34):
That's not good. That's the kind of thing that like,
again I don't know any details. Maybe she did something
the judge, maybe the judge did something all I don't know,
but like that's the kind of headline you see and
you go, oh, no, who's next, Rebecca, Rebecca, go ahead, Rebecca.
Speaker 13 (31:52):
Hey, now, don't cut me off. Just listen to me
one minute.
Speaker 4 (31:57):
King off, ma'am say that, but go ahead.
Speaker 13 (32:02):
This is for your knowledge. The guy is Arthur Pucher.
If you get a Tops magazine this month's issue, there's
a big picture in there and it really caught my
eye and the details. The second thing is this was
the first thing is Ryan Lemon's picture in there at
(32:22):
Executive Train is the most incredible picture Ryan. It is
such a good picture.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
Tops in Lexington magazine, there's a picture of Ryan. When
you say it's incredible, what do you mean.
Speaker 13 (32:37):
I mean he is dressed to the teeth. He looks wonderful.
Speaker 10 (32:40):
Then and it's really really good photo.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
It says Ryan. That is photoshopped, isn't it.
Speaker 4 (32:48):
No, it's not this She just said you look amazing.
I haven't seen you look amazing in a long time.
Well you will. I saw the picture.
Speaker 5 (33:00):
When I first looked at it, I thought that's got
to be photoshopped because I don't look at that.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Where was the picture taken? I meant to bring the
train offices.
Speaker 6 (33:08):
I meant to bring this up last week.
Speaker 4 (33:09):
I got a suit on, I shave these pictures. I
want to see it. I'm going to find it. Okay, man,
thank you very much.
Speaker 13 (33:15):
I have to find wait wait, wait, wait, okay, hey, hey, Matt,
I need an answer. You were telling a story a
couple of days ago about your trip and this guy
that nobody really likes. Something happened that night and.
Speaker 6 (33:30):
Heard the end.
Speaker 4 (33:31):
He's getting investigated. Uh. Trump issued an executive order to
have him investigated. But I haven't heard anything else about it.
So I don't know what it is now. It's just
you know, I mean, he was he was a guy
that I knew, and and so I don't know where
where it did. I haven't seen anything else about it.
But okays, appreciate the call. Where's this kick? I'm looking.
Speaker 6 (33:49):
I'm scrolling through the online Mario, do you have I
had this on my list of topics last week because
it was a here it is, this is there's no way,
this is really there's no way.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
That's not photoshopped. Oh my goodness, that is a good
picture of you. That the head's not even that's crend
of Frankie.
Speaker 5 (34:08):
She's our boss and Ezeki Train and she's hired me
a part time do some sales work.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
That's your suit. Yeah, I hang on, I've got a
lot of questions. That's your boss. Yes, she's beautiful, she
is beautiful. That's not you. That is me. That is
not you.
Speaker 10 (34:23):
I say that not.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
First of all, you're way tall in that picture. You're
not that.
Speaker 8 (34:29):
Bucket they got tall.
Speaker 4 (34:32):
She is wearing heels. There's no way you're that tall. Secondly,
and I love you, but that's not your body shape.
That is me. You have. Your body is not that shape.
Speaker 8 (34:44):
Tweet the picture out, send me the picture.
Speaker 4 (34:47):
Let's tweet that out, Drew, Tweet that out. You're saying,
that's not photoshop. Not photoshop. And you don't have a
yellow tie. I have a yellow tie. Why does that
belt that looks like a new know I have new clothes.
Your suits they don't fit that you have that.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
That's the one I wear when I do go to
weddings and things.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
You's noting your pants had holes in them, No they didn't.
You're you're being serious. That's you.
Speaker 14 (35:16):
Yes, that is your best photo. That's you should take
that picture. That picture should be on everything you do.
That's the best. If that picture is real, and Mario, I.
Speaker 4 (35:27):
Do not believe it is. If that picture is real,
you should use that picture on everything you do. That's
the best picture of you I've ever seen. I'm looking
at it right now. I'll look at that. I mean.
Speaker 8 (35:37):
Head on a different body.
Speaker 4 (35:39):
That's like a tall, slender person. That's that's a short,
stubby person. That's the Shannon.
Speaker 3 (35:46):
That's not No, that's Ryan's body from thirty years ago
with his head. Now that that's a filter of something
on it.
Speaker 4 (35:54):
Should never see you ever use a picture that's not
that one. No, kidd, I'm holding a clipboard and even
looks good. I got a hair cut the day before
the photos.
Speaker 12 (36:03):
You get.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
Unbelievable picture. That's not your body type at all. Okay,
that is my body type.
Speaker 15 (36:11):
You know, all right, I'm gonna believe him. He wouldn't
lie to us. I just tweeted to whoever took that
you should like go. That person better be a full too.
Speaker 8 (36:24):
You're fired.
Speaker 4 (36:25):
Mario only takes pictures from under my nose. You're out.
I need those pictures. Tell me about Stoctor Mortgage.
Speaker 5 (36:36):
Doctor Mortgage. You know, another one of my endorsements that
I love working with. They are good people. The spring
buying season is here, so if you're thinking about buying

will take one. Yeah, we'll put them together. There we go.
Let's do a before and after. Yeah, all right, see,
get that woman to come. Let's recreate the whole.
Speaker 3 (37:21):
I gonna eat all weekend so he can be slim
from Monday's picture.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
Take a break, very back, Welcome back. It is Kentucky
Sports Radio. I mean, all right, Shannon, go look go
look at the picture and keV Miller I'll just retweet it.
Did we just retweeted that allegedly the same suit?
Speaker 12 (37:42):
Ye?
Speaker 8 (37:43):
No, come, that's not even the same person.
Speaker 5 (37:45):
Yeah, that's the same suit because you can see the.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
That's allegedly the same I know you love I know
you love Ryan, But that's that's not the same suit.
It's just a different pose. Yeah, it's a different posts.
Love this shirt with the drinks same size in these
two pictures.
Speaker 5 (38:03):
Well, there are two pictures, are not I'm not literally
standing beside each other.
Speaker 4 (38:07):
No, you are literally by side. No, not in real life?
What does that even mean?
Speaker 8 (38:15):
That shows drunk? That shows as drunk as Ryan and
that picture on the left.
Speaker 6 (38:19):
I still haven't released all my wedding photos of Bryan.
I have about fifty of them. They're just sitting in
a folder on my computer.
Speaker 4 (38:24):
Eight five, Oh boy, A long night. That one short night.
Actually text was for you. You were home before they
threw out the booteneers seven seven to seven seven four
five two five four. Who's next, Tommy, Tommy, go ahead, Tommy.
Speaker 16 (38:43):
Hey, first time, long time? Who I got a question
for Drew.
Speaker 4 (38:49):
Uh.
Speaker 16 (38:50):
I'm on my way to Talladega for my bachelor party
in the back of an RBS taddy drink.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
It's Talladega this weekend.
Speaker 16 (38:58):
Oh yeah, okay, yeah, real fast and real lest man. Uh.
I'm I'm sitting in the back of the RV drinking
some coat snacks. And I remember Drew said when he
went there that a man's got to really want it
in the infield of Talladega. And I just wanted some
(39:18):
advice from Uncle Kree.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
I've done an RV bachelor party in the infield of Talladega.
I did not see a single car or race while
I was at Talladega for an entire weekend. Didn't even
bother to go look at the track. You're gonna want
to burn your clothes when you get home. The smell
that I smelt when I walked into my house was unbelievable.
You're not gonna get to shower much. My best piece
(39:41):
of advice, though, is my group. We all threw in
money and we rented our own porta potty that no
one else could touch. That they drop it off at
your tailgate, they drive around, you pay for it when
you first get there. That's best money I've ever spent
in my entire cost to get for I want to
say it's a little under one hundred of person. I
would have paid whatever it costs because we all we
had a pack to keep it clean. You didn't have
to deal with the public restrooms. So if you see
(40:03):
the porta potty delivery guy going around, it's my best
advice investing that. I think that's a actually.
Speaker 4 (40:10):
I really like that idea. I think that's a really
good idea. Who's up neck, Good luck, Austin, Austin, Go ahead, Austin.
Speaker 11 (40:20):
Who's Matt? First of all, the sur pro ad right
before this segment that is peak ambient that I don't
know if you've heard it. I got to slow it down.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
I've heard it. You've probably slowed it down a little bit.
It happened sometimes.
Speaker 12 (40:34):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (40:34):
The second thing you guys may have already talked about
it usually a podcast listener.
Speaker 12 (40:38):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (40:38):
The twenty million dollars or whatever it is for the
nil is there any title nine restrictions?
Speaker 4 (40:44):
With that, Well, okay, that's a great question. The short
answer is probably not. Under Title nine, you don't have
to give equal results. You just have to give equal opportunity.
And so I think under the the old interpretation of
Title nine, it still would not have had to been
an equal revenue share between men and women. But so
(41:07):
let's say Biden had won the election, I still don't
think that would have happened. But when Trump won the election,
they've altered the government's interpretation of Title nine. So I
think it's almost certain now that it won't be equal,
But I don't think it would have been otherwise either.
So you have to give equal opportunity, which is scholarships,
but you don't have to give equal results, which is expenditures.
(41:28):
And that's generally been the law for a long time.
All Right, appreciate it, Appreciate it. That's why, for instance,
the men's team can fly chartered to stuff, and then
sometimes the women's team takes commercial Now I'm not saying
that's good or not, but that's that. That is the interpretation,
and that's been the interpretation of law for a long time.
Speaker 5 (41:51):
And it's goning. It's gotten a lot better the last
couple of years. I know had that bad incident with
the women's Final four and they showed their workout room
and they showed the men's final four and showed their
workout room.
Speaker 4 (41:59):
That was pretty disgusting the difference in that. But that was, Yeah,
that was embarrassing, But they've gotten better. The NBA's eighty
two game grind is done. It is the playoffs. Last
night the thunder blew of thirty two point lead, So
you gotta be ready to make the bets. New Draftking
customers bet five to get two hundred dollars instead with
the code KSR only at DraftKings, where the crown is yours.

Dion Walker, du miss Johnson likely to be picked on
day three of the draft. Uh and then that's probably
like Abel like Hawks gets picked seventh ROWND.
Speaker 5 (42:44):
Never thought Dione Walker would fall this way, he's fallowing
the way. Going into last season, he was a guaranteed
top ten pick.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
I think apparently I talked to one of my ESPN
friends who's all into the draft, who told me he
went to all the workouts way out of shape, and
they were like, if you can't be out of shape
when you know you need to be, what's it going
to be like when you when you play. Thank you,
folks very much for coming. We appreciate it. This has
