made aware that the tables that Mattand I opened up are okay until five

(04:29):
o'clock. Oh, look at that. And then at five o'clock you don't
have to go home, but youcan't stay there. That's when the Keiwannas
Club comes in well and starts toread their minutes. I know we're in
Orange County deep, Orange County depth, but maybe we get some La County
squatter's rights going and see if youcan just stay just like I'm not moving.
I don't know I'm squatting, Imean moving. You can't move on

(04:51):
a couple people from the brewery Xtable this is my airbnbn out, and
you know they're all dressed in blackwith their exes on. It's like that.
It's like that group of militants thatused to dance behind Public Enemy with
the S one W. Yeah, that's them right there. When we said
that those tables were open, eightfreaked out. The s ONews came over
here and they were like, youknow, he was like rhythm. Yeah,

(05:12):
they were like, you could havethat until five o'clock, until five
o'clock and then we're going to useour skills fear of a black planet and
move these people out of the way. That's good social media content right there.
That really is s onew is gettingover there to move some people.
That's what wo Also, Matt,we're streaming live. We are on the
YouTube at YouTube dot com slashing andfive seventy LA sports and on the Facebook

(05:36):
at Facebook dot com and five seventyla sports. What do we got for
comments? Right now? In thismoment, Jerry West will play another NBA
game before Brownie does. That seemsa little insensitive, And be honest,
that's a little insensitive. That's thefirst one I wis. That is the
most recent comment. And that's whatyou find on the internet, all right.
It is a mean and soulless place. And that's what we got.

(05:57):
Oh did you guys see how geekedup the Lakers were to Nick Brownie?
Did you see those sweet video? We're gonna play some audio because they were
so emotionally moving. It really resetme as a dad of children. That's
the kind of dad I am.I'm a dad of children. I'll tell

high character, hard working kids. And that'll get you drafted, that's right.
That and having your father manipulate theentire system of the meritocracy of professional

(06:24):

code. Great, Scan the QRcode and earn eleven thousand dollars half your
light bill for July. True story. All right, Matt, if you

(06:45):
want to get it rolling, theword of the day, today's word of
the day. If I can findthe damn thing, some bitch shit my
word of the day, blow away, son of a bitch. If took
my word of the day, wheredid it go? Which is the way?
It's clear? What's this here? That could be it? Matt?
No, No, that is acommercial law. All right, you go

(07:06):
ahead with the number. Here wego, Ronnie q up. Here's my
number. Number of the day, eerie music, because this is one eerie
story. I don't know how manyof you are following this, but as
your space show of record, Petrosand Money got to do us a bit

(07:26):
of a check in because we gotourselves a mess. If you have not
been paying attention to what is goingon? Is this part of the UFL
controversy? No, A mere twohundred and fifty four miles above where we
sit right now, there is someaction in the skies. What is it?
Here's what I'm saying. Maybe wetake a flight somewhere. Right,
Let's just say we're flying to theeast coast. Charleston seems to be a

(07:47):
real popular place right now with thekids to go drinking on the other side
of the country. We've played theweather there this time of year is glorious.
So we're planning a nine day tripto Charles, are we really?
That's our plan. That's what wehave scheduled. Right. Flight takes off,
easy flight, we land, wemeet the people we're supposed to meet.

(08:09):
We're hanging out for nine days. And then at the end of the
trip, were like, all right, bing, bang boom, great trip,
let's go home. I got abunch of stuff. I gotta get
to catch up on work. Kissthe kids can't go home. Got a
bit of an issue. You gottastay here. Well, how long do
I have to stay here? Idon't know. Just give us a few
minutes. We got to work somethings out. Maybe it's a day,
maybe it's two. Well, nowwe're sitting on day twenty four. Wait,

(08:33):
where are we stuck for twenty fourdays? Right now? You and
I are in Charleston. We can'tget out of charge. We can't get
out of Charleston. Now, whyhaven't you employed your brilliant idea from the
paths and just rented a car.You would think we would do that,
but for this analogy that is goingto be awfully hard to do whatever,
because butch Wilmore and Sonny Williams arestuck on the International Space Station after flying

(08:58):
up the Boeing star Liner taps Calypso. So there's two people stuck on the
stuck on the International Space Station. They were supposed to be there for nine
days. They have been there fortwenty four and they just said testing the
thrusters in New Mexico could take acouple weeks before they figure out how to

(09:20):
return our two brave astronauts home onthe star Liner Calypso. I mean,
you figure if it takes like twentyfive minutes just for somebody to go from
like one part of the same terminalto another to bring quote unquote paperwork right
into the cockpit, we now haveto take crust off before that, like

(09:41):
you can imagine, like there butmust be a lot more red tape.
White Sands, New Mexico, internationallyinvolved, going to run through some thruster
programs before we can send you home. But this is the best part,
and this is really why I wantedto do the story. So they're there
for nineteen days, they might bethere for another fourteen That equals thirty three
instead of nine. But Boeing onthe record side, stay in love.

(10:03):
I don't believe so, but theymay be by the end of this whole
ordeal. You know, I believeyou shrink and your bones begin to contract.
Isn't there a movie where like oneof them is a sleep for one
hundred years and the other one likewakes somebody up and they get really mad,
like you should have wanted me up. We're supposed to be asleep in
this, you know. I thinkthat's the one with Harlan Williams about the
monkey. It's him and the monkey. Uh. This is the official statement

(10:24):
from the folks at NASA and BOWING. I want to make it very clear
that Butch and Sunny are not strandedin space. Well, what would you
call it if I were in Charlestonfor nine days and the airliner tells me
I cannot come home until perhaps thirtyfour days, you know, like Cowboy
Bebop, like rent a air spaceshuttle to get home. There's no Sweet

(10:46):
Cordy to keep me company. Itis just those two on the International Space
Station. May they be safe,May they return safely. But quote,
I want to make it very clearthat Butch and Sunny are not stranded in
space. It certainly feels different. What do you think they're making space love?
Oh? Like Moonraker style? Well, can you get a I mean,

(11:07):
it does it work in space?Well? Yeah, it works in
smith? Do you know? Imean one of there's gravitational issues. It's
gonna affect your blood flow. Imean, if if the jello's floating around,
isn't the blood in your veins floatingaround? Doesn't it affect how it
gets to your puzzo? I wouldlike to think it doesn't. I mean
I don't know. Maybe I don'tknow. Maybe that's why you can bring

(11:28):
up a story about a man anda woman stranded in space and we don't
know if they're consummating their space relationship. I'd like to think they are.
How else are you going to passthe time for an extra thirty days?
If it works? What if itdoesn't work? What if there's no place
in the station where they can doit, where they can't be seen by
how fair questions? You know whatI'm saying. I like fair questions.

(11:50):
And if they were having sex Moonrakerstyle, what do you think floating?
They'd be floating horizontal toward each otheror vertically toward each other. And they've
been that weird space blanker wrapped aroundthat. That's exactly right, like a
space sex burrito. You need theweighted blanket. I can't look. I'm
into this now, Like and it'sa man and a woman, man and
a woman. Now do we knowwhat he looks like? He looks like

(12:13):
a butcher, because it's not likethey send a lot of hot chicks to
space, do they, like onlyin the movie? Oh, I think
you're stereotyping astronauts. I have toI've got to be honest, Like the
male astronauts are like strapping and likeyeah, but it's like, what kind
of chicks are we talking about? That send up there? I mean,
it ain't Sandy Bullet floating around outthere in oblivion? What do we got?
I'm looking right now. I wantto see what SUNI looks like.

(12:35):
Butch and Suoni? Here we goI mean, that guy's name is Butch.
You know he's bringing it all right? Here we go, Well,
let me see her. I don'tknow which one's less attractive. Butcher soon
well, I mean, at acertain point, does it matter? You
tell me? We can do whatI'm saying. We can discover the wonders
of nature. Oh, my god, looks like she could cut a honey

(13:00):
baked ham with her face. AndButch just looks like he looks like a
fat version of the Beavis and buttHead pe teacher kick Me and the Jimmy
Guy's a lovely couple. For sure. They're having sex in space. I
guarantee it right now. Look atit right there. Look at it right
there on the stream. Look athow close they are, Matt. Oh

(13:20):
they're in love. Oh I'm inlove. I'm all shook up. Is
that her hand, Matt, that'sa trick. That's a camera trick.
I hope it is. It's justher Her hand looks abnormally bobon big.
I don't want that down there makeme feel terrible about myself. It's weightless,

(13:41):
all right. I finally I knowit's space, sweetheart. Just weird
things happen. I recovered the wordof the day, sort of his words.
The word of the day. Today'sword is dog bite. Now,
who are we involved with in theworld of the Petrosen money show that would
be concerned about a dog? SweetJames is right, sir, art its

(14:05):
putting on the road A wonderful Angelsfan here in the house. Yes,
Sweet James very much involved with dogbites. Now, let's be honest.
Who here has ever been bitten bya dog? I was bitten by my
dogs and as a child, andI never once thought of calling Sweet James.

(14:26):
Uh, But there's a lot ofpeople that do. Now. I
am not a female golf officionado,But that being said, there's a big
story in the world of women's golf. The number one golfer in the world,
this woman named Nellie Korda. Oh, Nellie Korda, who is from
Florida. She's like twenty five. She cannot compete this week in a bit

(14:48):
money tournament for herself in England becauseshe was bitten by a dog in Seattle.
Now know this. I commercials forSweet James in Seattle. Same number
eight hundred and nine million to callif a dog bites your balls. I'm
assuming it didn't bite her balls.Well, that's be two. But you

(15:11):
can't ever tell Matt in these days, you can't say that, you know,
I'm assuming, yes, that shewas not bitten in the balls.
I don't know where she was bittenor how severe the bite is. Because
Nellie Korda she's out for a tournament. She has not disclosed. She said,
I am healing, I have beenbitten by a dog. I'm going
to miss this tournament and hopefully she'llbe back when the LPGA starts up again

(15:35):
in France in a couple of weeks. But she is missing a tournament because
of a dog bite. What dog, where, how, still remains to
be seen. But it seems liketo me a case for Sweet James a
little bit. Yeah, there's nodoubt about that. A case for Sweet
James indeed, And if he washere today, which he is not because

(15:58):
he commented on an international Man ofMystery, we could discuss it. But
he does have a license to practicein the state of Washington. And ironically,
the radio guy that I do ashow with once a week in Seattle
for the last time I don't knowfifteen years, Dave Softy Maler, also
in the last couple of years.Attacked and mauled by a dog. It's

(16:21):
a lawlessness of Seattle. I mean, who has been attacked in a mall
by a dog around? Like,of all the people that have been bitten
by a dog here, who hassued because of it? Oh? My
god, you did? Or youjust holding the Oh no, you're just
holding the thing all right. Thelady in the Mickey Mouse overalls raised her
hand, but it's because she's justtrying to hold the umbrella because you know,

(16:41):
the sun is cruel and punishing.Okay, so we got two people
in space having moonraker sex, andwe got the female golfer who's been bitten
in the balls. I can understandwhy you'd missed the tournament if the dog
bit your balls and embarrassing to explainas a female golfer. Body, pitch
your back up again. I've lostall my power and strength. Screwp one

(17:06):
running. This is the song ofthe day. Show fly coming up?
And how about do we have acamera on Ronnie for the stream when we

(17:30):
do that? Say it again? What are you saying? Came brush guy
in the back? Our manrush isopen, is in the back, Get
in line, for the airbrush.I need a tank. I need I
need an airbrush tank. Go see, I thought we lost the music.
Yeah, in the back our airbrushesup and rolling magic airbrush and we are
going to give away more prizes herein the in the break. If you
have not arrived yet, don't thinkit's too Somebody ordered me an airbrush of

(17:53):
a curvaceous, dark haired Latina. Will somebody order me an air brush of
Nelly Corda getting bit at the balls? Ah? All right, we'll be
back with more great sports. DonStone is gonna join us. It's Papa

in the twenty twenty draft. Stoneis coming off a complete game, shutout
only four hits he gave up onWednesday in Chicago versus the White Sox,
first rookie to throw a complete gamesince Hingin re you for the Dodgers in

(19:02):
twenty thirteen. Joining us on yourSouthern California Toyota Dealer celebrity hotline. It
is Gavin Stone, also known asthe stone Ball. Yeah right here on
the Petro Said Buddy show by someof the LA Sports. Let's crack it,
Gavin, How are you good? Are you guys? We're great,
We're fabulous, We're happy. Haveyou ever you never been on this show
before? Right? Or do youdo so many shows that you lose track?

(19:25):
Like how does that work? Ihave? I have not that I
remember? Well, yeah, allright, don't be the maiden voyage.
There's a live audience here of afew hundred people and it's hot, wearing
Anaheim. They're all drunk and they'reabout an hour and a half in,
so you know, some salty drunksand stuff like that, so just try
not to worry about it. Gavin. We sure appreciate you coming on.

(19:47):
Can you explain what this year's beenlike for you? Because last year you
made a couple of starts. Howmuch did you learn from that to come
back this season as great as you'vebeen. Yeah, it's been fun,
you know, just around the guysand getting to know them a little bit
better, getting a little bit morecomfortable in the clubhouse, and you know,

(20:07):
just kind of taking whatever what Ilearned in the off season into the
season and just kind of have itsticking to that mentality and that approach and
it's still working out so far,and hope to continue to do that now.
Would love to know, because wejust mentioned this when we found out
you were coming on that our dearfriend, intrepid Dodger reporter David Vasse,
who I know, you know andI'm sure you embrace and love seeing every

(20:32):
moment of every day. He cameon during spring training and said, understandably
there's a lot of talk about Yamamotofor Rookie of the Year, but he
said, if you ask me,Govin Stone is the gods stone, he
proclaimed, and he believed in youfrom the start. What is your relationship
with our dear friend David Vasse likeand what did you show in spring training

(20:55):
that would lead him to come onand stick his neck out and say he
believed that that was in your future. That's funny. Uh, No,
David is a great guy. Immediatelywhenever I came up, you know,
we connected and I started talking andgot to know each other pretty well.
And and like I said, he'sa great guy. And early in the
season, actually he he I toldhim that my favorite player when I was

(21:18):
growing up was David Exstein, andhe actually set it up to where I
could FaceTime David and get to talkto him a little bit. So that
meant a lot to me. Anduh and I'll forever be grateful for that,
just because you know, David wasmy favorite player growing up. But
no, he's He's a great guy. I love him to death. I'm
so glad that he's in our clubhouseall the time. I don't know,

(21:41):
I don't know what he saw inspring training, but uh so, like,
uh, we've always connected and he'salways he's always liked me, and
I always liked him. So he'sprobably just giving me some you know,
props in spring training. But yeah, that's cool with him to say.
Is there any truth to the factthat Extein now like kind of where's you
out? Calls you every night? And started fucking now like it's kind of

(22:03):
turned all the way around. Whois it? What did you say?
Sorry? X Stein just keeps callingyou now he won't leave you alone?
Or was that just a one timething? Oh that was just a one
time thing. Yeah, I wishhe called me all the time, but
hit him back. That'stime? Whatthe hell is he? How do you?
How does how does X Time becomeyour favorite player? Like was it
just during that angel run? Orwas it saying like what was going on
that it was X Time? Thatwas your guy? So I was.

(22:26):
I'm from Arkansas, so I wasa big Cardinals stand growing up. And
whenever I first started watching baseball,David Exteon was the shortstop for the Cardinals
and they ended up winning the WorldSeries and stuff, and that's really like
the first time that I really fellin love with baseball. And I always
wore number twenty two because of him. And like I said, he was

(22:48):
a shortstop and I wanted to bea short stop in the big leagues too,
so and he was a smaller guyand I was a smaller kid,
So I couldn't have couldn't have pickeda better person to look up to,
for sure, that was Uh,that was one of the great things I
remember about that run with the Angelswas seeing David Eckstein and Troy Gloss stand
next to each other in the clubhouseis in the post games, you could

(23:11):
see that baseball did not have onebody type that there were certainly guys that
looked a lot different that could stillget it done. I don't know if
their lockers were next to each other, but they were always in close proximity
to Arkansas. Though, Gavin andI'm looking at the bio Central Arkansas,
I do believe that is also thethe alma mater of Scottie Pippen. Is
is who else has come out ofCentral Arkansas besides Gavin Stone and Scotti Pippen?

(23:34):
Let me think, I know,I'm trying to think Robert Rochelle.
He was with the Chargers for theRams sorry for a couple of years.
He's on the Super Bowl team spot. I know I put him on the
spot. You never want to dothat, you never want to do the

(23:56):
trivia thing. But you know, you don't see a lot of Central Arkansas.
It's very excited, you know,a city like us. We hear
Arkansas and you know, then wethink of a Dodger stadium and think of
you up on the mound doing yourthing. How do you stay so cool
amongst everything going on around you?Because it seems like you have a really
great approach and you're not really affectedby all the hooplaind man, there's a

(24:18):
lot of hooplin Dodger Stadium. Ohyeah, that place gets crazy. But
no, that was just something thatmy college coach, Nick Carlon, He
kind of taught me, you know, on the mental side of things.
Just always be composed, always becalm. It's never as bad as the
themes and it's never as good asit seems. So just keeping that in
mind and staying relaxed helps me alot. So who who's responsible for you

(24:44):
becoming a pitcher? You mentioned Iwould assume you're a really good shortstop if
you can be a major league baseballpitcher. So how how did that transformation
take place? Were you resistant atfirst? Or what led you be in
a pitcher? Who's you know, one of the best in baseball right now?
So my in high school probably itwas like junior year, started going
to showcases and stuff, and Ididn't want to pitch, but my dad,

(25:07):
my Dad kind of made me tryoff for pitching at these showcases and
stuff, just because I threw alittle bit harder through like eighty eight.
But yeah, he kind of hekind of made me kind of get into
pitching, and so very thankful forthat. And then I went to college
as a two way and I stillat that time wanted to play short.

(25:30):
I didn't really want to pitch. And then my beelot bumped up a couple
takes my sophomore year, and soever since then, I just kind of
stuck a pitching. Gavin Stone isour guest on the Petrolson Money Show at
AM five seventy LA Sports. He'sdoing great this year for the Dodgers.
I told him there was one hundredsof people here. You guys make it
sound like there's a dozen people. My gosh, you lackadaisical drugs. All

(25:52):
right, well, let's let's makeGavin feel at home when I when I
say Stone, you say Borne Ready, Stone Stone. All right, that's
pretty good. We'll do stone Ball. Oh we love it, Gavin.
Wednesday night, it was a specialnight, no doubt. Did you feel
in control the whole time? Didyou feel good before the start? Did

(26:15):
Dave Roberts tell you you were goingout for the ninth. How did that?
How did that all work? Becauseyou know, we don't get to
see a lot of guys play throwcomplete games anymore. We don't get to
see him make the sixth Inny.Yeah, it doesn't happen a lot.
No, it was. It wasreally cool. Barnesy did a great job,
you know, putting down the fingersand stuff, calling a great game,
mixing it and now getting early contact. So credit to him. I

(26:38):
mean, he's been great all yearand he continues to I mean he's been
great all his career. But no, there was no conversation. I just
knew that my fish count was prettylow, and so just going out there
and taking the ball until they tookit away from me. It was my
mentality. I really wasn't focused onthe complete game. But you know,

(26:59):
we were in a position where weneed to save the bullpen a little bit,
and I'm thankful that you know wecould do that. Now, we
meant you mentioned Arkansas, and whenwe think Arkansas, we also think,
you know, there's beer in Texarcana. We think Texas, and we think
Texas, we think Nolan Ryan andwhen we think Nolan Ryan. We think
of a guy that threw like,I don't know, thirty or forty complete

(27:21):
games every season for forty straight seasons. When it comes to pitch counts,
kind of like, where do youcome out on that? How do you
feel when they come get you?You know, you threw over one hundred
pitches, but you were still superefficient in that game against the White Sox.
What what are we talking about thesedays when it seems like, you
know, you hit eighty and yougot to start looking at the bullpen.
It feels like, yeah, youknow, at that point, as a

(27:42):
starter, you really don't pay attentionto it. He's just out there trying
to get many outs until they comeand get the ball. But you know,
the more pitches you throw, obviouslythe more sort you get. So
I was definitely feeling a little bitmore sort of the other day. But
you know, it's a lot offun, you know, going out there
and taking the ball and being accountedfor so many pitches during the game.

(28:04):
And so, like I said lastweek, I didn't get those two outs
in the sixth inning and dog hadto come get me. So to get
those two outs, you know,in the sixth and keep going and keep
going and keep going was really big. So we got to ask, just
because you know, he's your teammate, he's biggest, arguably most popular athlete
on Earth in terms of Otani andand someone who's expected to maybe pitch as

(28:27):
soon as next year. What's itlike being in the clubhouse with someone that
has accomplished that much, maybe beenthe best player in the history of baseball
the last three years. And whatkind of stuff he can show with you,
particularly about maybe throwing the ball.Yeah, I mean he's a great
guy. First off, he's onehundred percent humble, one hundred percent you
know, accountable for what his actionsand stuff. And he's a great dude.

(28:52):
O greatest guy probably that I've beenin baseball. But when you're in
the clubhouse with him, he youcan tell that he is. He is
the greatest. Just how he walksand and you know, how he swings,
how he goes about his his youknow, his process before the game
and stuff, and then just kindof he's just now starting to throw and

(29:15):
and uh so just picking his mindon on how he holds his different pitches
and and uh you know what hethinks whenever he's on the mountain and stuff
is something that I'm really looking forwardto whenever he does keeps thrown bullpens and
stuff. So I haven't really tappedin much show on the pitching side just
because he hasn't been pitching, butI'm definitely looking forward to doing that.

(29:36):
Well. It's been a great conversation. And just know this, Gavin,
You know there's other guys that workat this radio station other than Vast say
he's been hogging you and hiding yourlighte from from people like us. We
sure appreciate you. You're a great, humble young man, and it sure
is fun to watch you go aboutyour business with all the fan fan of
Dodger baseball. The professional approach you'vehad has been really fun to watch.

(29:59):
Stay healthy and have great rest ofthe year. Gavin, thanks a lot
for doing it today. We appreciateit. Yes, sir, Thank you
guys for having me on. Yessir, all right, we'll be right
back. Kevin so great sports talk. David Vassa, he's gonna join us
next. Look at that we're doublingup on the phone, and that we'll

(30:19):
have a quick kids and a topstory of the day. It's took a
lot of prizes left to give away. We stung on a lot of dishes
to wash. Now, as faras the people stranded in the space station
story, the two movies that werereferenced were rocket Man with Harlan Williams.
That's right, fine film about spaceand Interstellar with Jennifer Lawrence. And we

(30:41):
got a little Moonraker in there,a little what we talked about. We
knew that, we knew that. But Jay Law was the one where it's
like, you know, he wokeher up because she was so hot,
and she was like, why'd youwake me up? Supposed to sleep for
another one hundred years? Interstellar isthe McConaughey vehicle, the Sandy Bullock.
The hell is that one with gravity? Gravity is the Sandy bullet? George

(31:02):
Clooney, what about oblivion? Oblivion? Interstellar is the one where Ja where's
the one where they wake up JayLaw to have sex with her? That's
not Arma, Get it on art. Yeah, that's a good one.
I like that one. Yeah, you're a liar, Arma, get it
off. That's liv Tyler. Right. All right, we'll be back,

(31:25):
Thank you, Ronnie. We'll beback with more great sports talk on M
five seventy l A Sports, You'rehome out the Dodgers, Tim Kates.
We'll have Marongo Casino Dodgers on deckfrom right here at six o'clock. First
pitch at seven ten. But everybodyknows that I think thank get it a
Stone bone Gavin Stone coming off acomplete game right he was fantastic, Our

(31:49):
favorite player ever from Arkansas and DavidVasse's favorite and everybody in LA's favorite.
The first rookie to throw a completegame shutout since U twelve years ago,
and the first Dodg here in thelast two years to throw a complete game
shut out. So great to havehim on. Remember it is Dodgers Giants
coming up tonight, the first ofthree at seven o'clock, and stick around.

(32:12):
Don't feel like you got to rushout of here after we signed off
at six, because Kate's is goingto keep it going with Dodgers on debt.
And is it this great? DidI not tell you about the great
camaraderie and the people of Great Sportstalking the first hour grabbing a great time.
Thank you for being here, everybody, and thank you for enjoying the
show and allowing us to enjoy youwhile you enjoy each other, and speaking

(32:34):
of enjoyment, it's time for oneof the most enjoyable segments in the history
of radio. A man's his voicebrings joy to everybody. David Fast Oh
he's not right already. Well, thanks a lot. No, it's alright,
he's dying. It's all right,it's all right. It gives me

(32:59):
an opportunity to recognize somebody else inyour Belinda's league. Head coach in the
same league as your Belinda. Ishe here right now? Yes, was
not happy that your Belinda got allthat love that your Belinda got the shout
out, So coach Justin Via Sennorfrom Braye Linda High School, the home
of the Wildcats, came over hereand he showed his face and his rope

(33:22):
gold chain. So a shout outto the Wildcats of Breya Linda High Beautiful.
Now there's only two of them, and there's like a whole angry old
line looking table of white dudes reppingyour Belinda and you, guys. Hey,
just take it easy on that tablesnext to each other. Yeah,
right next to each other. Borderwar right next to you, guys,
take it easy now. Wildcats versusMustangs. David Vasse, the Home of

(33:46):
the Dodgers with an inside look atthe Dodgers. This is the Vassie Report
with David Vasse. The one andonly David is our game. We just
got to talk to one of hisdear friends, Gavin Stone the Stone Bone,
had great things to say about ourfriend Dave. Really cool to talk

(34:07):
to. David Vassa enjoyed a verypeaceful off day in San Francisco, kind
of like that montage in Beverly Hillsnine o two one zero when Brandon Walsh
and Emily Valentine were walking around SanFrancisco while Chris Isaac saying San FRANCISCOO,
dude, San franciscool. It's justlike that, And David Vasse joins us
on the Southern California Toyota Dealer Celebrityhotline on AMPI seventy LA Sports. You're

(34:30):
home the Dodgers. What's cracking,Dave? How are you? Everything's great?
Guy's a beautiful afternoon here in SanFrancisco. Not a cloud in the
sky. My guy. Austin Barnesplaying with the kids. You know,
he's a man that gets back tothe people. Even though he believed radio
is dead. I've tried to convincethem otherwise. But yeah, we're having

(34:51):
a good time out here. Howcome you didn't tell us that the stone
Bone was such a good interview andsuch a genuine guy. I mean,
the stone Boner really wowed us hereand we're on remote on the on the
that's not easy to get the peopleinvolved. I love Gavin Stone humble kid,
and certainly is not taking his successlightly or getting a big head over
really being one of the most consistentstarters the Dodgers have had this side of

(35:15):
Tyler Glassman, Dave, what kindof challenge is issued when a rookie goes
out there and throws the first completegame in over two years and we got
dudes that can barely make it outof the fifth innan does? Is that
something that's a jumping off point? That is a bit of a come on
man, the stone Bone can doit. How about you salt the old

(35:36):
vets, get out there and throwone hundred and five pitches and close this
thing out right? Good point. There's always competition on a team and with
a starting rotation, So let's seehow Land and Nat can do tonight.
Because Mack's a guy that isn't justtrying to get swing him in. He
gets a lot of weak contact aswell, throws four different pitches, so

(35:57):
maybe the young guy Nack can doit. Glass Now's done it for the
Dodgers. He's gone into the eighthinning more than any other starter this year,
so he certainly has been an anchorall season long, and all of
a sudden, now you might havetwo Dodger starters headed to Texas for the
All Star Game, Gavin Stone andTyler glass Now. As predicted by David

(36:19):
Vassa during spring training Dodger Talk whenhe would join us on the show from
Arizona, that Gavin Stone was goingto let it be known that his bone
was going to bring it home. And that's what they did, Dave.
They swept the series in Chicago. How important was it to get all three
against the worst team and baseball, especially because the Giant's been playing some decent
baseball ass of late, have theynot? Those were my expectations Mac going

(36:44):
into the six game road trips, sweep the White Sox and take two out
of three from a wounded animal. The San Francisco Giants to have a better
rotation on the injured list than theydo active right now, Logan Webb is
starting today, but the Giants areforced to go to two bullpen games the
next two games of this series, and their offense isn't terrific either. And

(37:07):
despite their record and despite their injuries, they're only three games out of a
wildcard spot. The One and OnlyDavid Bassey is on our show at the
Reel Underscore DV on Twitter, ourDodger reporter. He'll be Ravier Herrera walking
right by me, our pregame guest, Pavier. Oh that okay, so

(37:30):
oh yeah. Because Fred Rogan issick. Actually Fred is. Here's a
here's a news flash. Everybody.Fred does this every single year. He
takes a long weekend and then rightbefore the long weekend starts, Oh god,
he's sick for a couple days,so his weekend somehow becomes longer,
comes like nine days. He didthis once where he was carrying the Olympic

(37:52):
torch for NBC and he said thathis eyes were bleeding, he had eyes
stigmata and he couldn't come to work. So because Fred didn't come to work
this week, he relinquished the batboy that saved Sho hail Tani's life to
David Vasse what's that interview going tobe, like Dave, because that kid
had some quick reflexes. Hobby,he did, he did. You'll hear

(38:15):
that on Dodgers on Deck hosted byTim kas at six forty five. It's
his only interview exclusive bo with usthe Dodger pregame show. He's a little
shy, he's a little uncomfortable withthe attention he's getting. The Japanese media
want us to talk to Javier. They're actually filming him right now and taking

(38:36):
photos of Hobby. The legendary batBoy clubhouse attendant use Hernandez is trying to
get in the photo as well. But I mean, Hobby needs to ride
this out. He could do alot of damage. While Austin Barnes was
on deck, he didn't even celebratethe poor kid he I mean, he
basically was like a secret service agent. He put himself in the path of

(38:57):
peril in order to save the moreimportant set show Hail Tani, give us
a little bit more backstory and isit all going to be backstory? On
Dodgers on Deck. We don't wantto steal the thunder day, But what
can you share with the people listeningthat are that have a thirst for information
about Hobby. What can you tell? How long has he been with the
club? What are his primary duties? Has he only shown this pensiont for
quick reflexes. He played high schoolbaseball. He was a shortstop, so

(39:22):
you know, he's got good momoslike Miguel Roja, so he knows his
way around a baseball field. Butalso he had told O'tani the previous game
that if a foul ball comes thisway, don't worry. I got you.
So it was ironic that the verynext night G. K Hernandez check
swings foul ball directly in the lineof side of Otani's space and Javier Herrera

(39:46):
to the rescue. And I feellike he's getting the short ends the stick
here by you know, websites, bloggers, and even MLB Network just referencing
him as a bat boy. He'smuch more than that. He's been part
of the Dodger organized for over tenyears, fose to fifteen years, so
he's been around. He's been around. Man not cool, maybe Otani.

(40:07):
Maybe Otani delivers a Porsche to Hobbybecause the Dodgers season was a blink of
the eye away from being over.Hobby deserves a lot of love, at
least something that's a true story,more than a watch, more than a
brightling certainly, or maybe a TravisMatthew polo. Oh, get one of
those coming his way, one ofthose Travis Matthew boone boxes. Maybe an

(40:30):
well, he did want one ofthose. I said they were sold out.
Sorry. The one and only DavidVasse, Ladies and gentlemen at the
real underscore DV A real hero tothe people. Yes, you may be
annoyed by him, but you don'thave to travel overnight all night every night
with the Dodgers and slog along awayfrom your wife and family. Vassa does,

(40:52):
and he does a hell of ajob doing it. Thanks a lot,
Dave, have a wonderful evening.Sorry about Italy and the World Cup.
Oh good, enjoy yeah, euroCup, Enjoy the summer tour.
Guys, wish I was there.I bet you do. There it goes
David VESSI Price Hooker got an airbrushshirt. Oh what a champion? What

(41:15):
a champion? Is that the biggestsize we got? It'll fit. That's
all right, frame it, that'llfit. Get it on there, Get
it on there, Solo Sports.Absolutely put it on. Let's go let
it fly. We still have toauction off the Petrosen money. Solo Sports
ordered funkkal Pop that we signed hereduring the break. I wonder what that

(41:37):
would get you on eBay like aglove, Like a glove, Solo Sports
beautiful. Look at that. Ourairbrush artist, Magic Airbrush Mauricio is here.
He is in the back fulfilling requestslike the Prize Hooker's Prize Hooker shirt.
We appreciate that. Come on outand see us. We'll be here
till seven pm. Tim Kate's gonnatake over at six for Dodgers on Deck.

(42:00):

fact, dead and alive, ahost of prizes. We still got a
lot of content to deliver the people.
