Speaker 2 (00:03):
We've got Houston's best variety of the eighties nineties and
today I'm Dana with producer Anthony here and the three
things you need to know to get your Wednesday, April
sixteenth started, Well, the Rockets are in the playoffs, first
time in five years, and we now know who they're
going to be playing on Easter Sunday, Golden State Warriors YEP.
The games at eight thirty. Then Game two is going

(00:24):
to be coming up Wednesday. I've been looking at ticket prices.
Cheapest tickets one hundred and sixty bucks, but they're going
to be gone. Then you'll move into the four hundreds,
and then they'll be gone and then you'll go up
from there. That's all accurate, super pricey. So what you
can do support the Rockets with the Rockets Gear, the
Playoff gear gear up for liftoff YEP. The gear is

(00:44):
going to be available at the Rockets Store at Toyota
Center from eleven until five today. You can also get
it at Rocketshop dot com and the Rocket Playoff gear
will be available there later today. Well, AI is everywhere
and that includes hurricane forecasting.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Yes, hurricane season begins June first.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
We've got pretty good forecasting for now, but meteorologists say
AI will take predictions to the next level. AI is
best for shorter term data, and you know, as the
hurricanes start doing their thing, that data starts coming in
really fast. Can help guide us and hopefully help us
out to be safe. Your weather today beautiful, really perfect, Sonny.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
We're going to go up to eighty three.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Right now, it's seventy in uptown and you're up to
date on sunny.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Tell me something good.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Brought to us by our friends at Goodwill Houston. Well,
I met this special lady out in Brenham. Her name
is Jennifer Simpson, and she is chairing a wonderful event
for the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County. And
she was like, Dana, we're having this fundraiser April twenty fourth.
Do you know of any chefs in Houston who might
want to create a delicious evening to benefit some two

(01:57):
hundred and seventy five kids learning about character and leadership?
And I was like, well, I mean I know Ryan Lshane,
the famous chef from Real who we brought here from
Canada to coach hockey.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Became an amazing chef, and.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
I contacted him and Jennifer contacted him and he agreed
to do it. So this big fundraiser, I mean, it
really is going to be amazing. He is going to
be serving his famous check this out butter burgers.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Ooh can you imagine burgers with butter?

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Hello?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yes please.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
He's also got pork loin. He's going to be offering
and Bee's knees or dessert. Not familiar with it, but
if Ryan's doing it, it will be amazing. It's going
to happen April twenty fourth. You can still get your
tickets if you'd like to go, just go to Club
at BGC like Boys Girls Club Club at BGC, Dash

(02:53):
Brenham dot org and Ryan, thank you for your generosity.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
Producer Anthony, this is Wild Dane.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
There's a bee keeper who made an altimate bear hand
grab for Rice House win over the South Florida Bulls
this past Sunday. See, the game wouldn't have started without
his help because of a nest of bees that have
formed on Florida's dugout, causing a delayed to the start
of the match. So Joseph Elam, owner of b Removal
of Houston was the hero and his response upon arrival
was unmatched. Dressed in overalls, a T shirt, sunglasses, this

(03:19):
dude rolls up and grabs the bee hot bear handed
and disposed of it. Apparently this is a thing that
can happen depending on what kind of nest or hive
it is. But social media had a field day with
this legend, saying stuff like man plus beard plus overall's
equals fearless. Those bees stood no chance warming the bases
to start the bottom of the fourth It was amazing. Well,
great job, Joseph Elam a b removal of Houston showing

(03:40):
everyone how fearless Houstonians can be when it comes to bees.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
That is amazing man.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
And I bet Brian uses honey from you know, fresh
honey from bees too in his Cooking Right Hope show.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
We've got Houston's best variety the eighties, nineties and today
I'm Dana with producer Anthony talking about precious possessions and
women's precious possessions, and I mentioned babies. I love them
so much, And it was our answer for our nearly
impossible question. Actually, our precious possessions, four hundred of them
left on planes in the last year, wasn't babies.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
It was wedding I would hope we're not leaving the
babies on the plane.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Terrible, there'd be something I do. I left my baby
on the plane. Anyway, The answer was wedding rings. But
for me, babies are so precious. And I'm not the
only one, because we've got Beverly calling in from the heights,
and Beverly newborns are precious to you a newborn care specialist. Wow,

(04:46):
and you're here temporarily? Where are you originally from Beverly,
North Florida? All right, okay, so you were asked to
come and take care of these these newborns.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Correct. I work through a company here called Nurtured Beginning,
Uh huh. And they try they find all the people
that want the care. And so is this where you
might have Dulahs and new newborn care specialists in Dulah's.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Oh and Dula's So, so this way mom can sleep
a little bit overnight and Europe kind of helping out
with the baby with a newborn.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Yeah, basically, they whatever hours they fixed. I was working
a thirty to six thirty. In other cases I've been
twelve hour shifts. It just depends on what the parents want.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Wow, how do you find peace and calm with a
crying baby that you know you can't exactly nurse, So
you've got to figure out a way to calm this baby.
I mean, I know you're a specialist, So what what
are some tips?

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Well, keep your baby swaddled so they feel safe. Uh huh,
get your baby on the schedule as quickly as you can.
And it depends on whether they're breastfeeding or bottle feeding,
because you know, they eat more frequently when they're breastfeeding
because the milk's not in right away right right. You know.
That's a little more tiring, I guess. And if mom
can pump and let someone else feed during the night,

(06:00):
that works too.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
That's amazing, man, Beverly, you are just like an angel
for these families.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
That's the coolest thing. How did you find Sonny?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I'm listening to it on the radio in my truck.
You know, like Delilah. Delilah's on your station.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Delilah's on time. That's exactly right.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
So listen to her on the way in and you
guys on the way back.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Oh, and how's the baby doing?

Speaker 4 (06:24):
They're doing great? Is it two of them?

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Oh, you've got twins.

Speaker 4 (06:28):
Yeah, I'm working with twins, and tonight's my last night
actually with them, and I'm going home.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Oh, I'm so glad we got to talk to you.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yeah. Well, if you need help with your daughter, it's
a boy.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
It's a little boy named Silas. But they're in Wisconsin.
You don't want to go to Wisconsin.

Speaker 4 (06:43):
No, No, I was gonna beginning.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, yeah, that's so funny.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
Well, actually have another case in South Florida, all right
after this one to.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
South Florida's amazing.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Well, God bless you for helping out these families and
their little newborns. What an incredibly fulfilling career you have.

Speaker 4 (07:02):
Nice, Well, thank you. Nice talking to you.
