(00:00):
Wada go waa, wad to go? Wead to go? Where to go?
Wedda go guy. So it's anotherepisode of Where to Go. You
got Garrett, you got myself,Craig Tea, and we are live on
location again. I'm gonna tell you, Garrett, I kind of like doing
these live on location podcasts. Well, yeah, you know, we we

(00:21):
just roll up with our equipment andall our stuff and here we are.
You know, this is how wemake the sauce. Speaking of go back
and listen to episode one of Whereto Go. Well, we not have
to go far back. You haveto go back to one episode you said.
It's like, hey, where doI find that? It literally is
right under this one. So Ijust hit arrowback, arrowback and you'll be

(00:42):
right there, no problem. Well, listen, today we are in Westfield,
New Jersey. We're at two thirtyone East broad Street, and we're
at Rumble in Westfield. So Garrett, tell me a little bit about Rumble
since you actually come here. Yeah, you're you're sitting in my gym right
here, You're sitting in the gym. I come to a place that was
much needed in in the town Ilive in with my family and fortunate enough.

(01:03):
I know the guy that owns theplace from Staten Island. I to
him from Staten Island. And let'slet's introduce Lou macgron to the party.
I like it. Lou, Welcometo where to go. How you doing?
I'm doing well. Thank you guysso much for having me, and
I appreciate you guys taking the rightto Westfield. Westfield is such a great
little city. It's like you haveyour suburbs around it, but then you

(01:26):
have this, like this main streetthat has completely grown and grown and grown,
and you can go get ice cream, you can go get pizza,
and then you come down here torumble and work it off exactly. You
just eat and drink and then youcome to rumble to make it all go
away. Now this facility, though, this gym, it's not like your
typical gym. Can you explain rumble? This is boutique fitness that came out

(01:46):
of New York City kind of beforethe pandemic. It was the thing to
do. It is a forty fiveminute class led by an instructor who's instructing
you both punching a teardrop shape waterfilled bag and then on the bench side
there's weights, so you get atremendous sweat, great workout. You're being
coached the whole time, and peoplereally enjoy that group fitness atmosphere. You

(02:07):
know, when I'm on location,I always like to find out a little
bit more about the ownership behind theseestablishments. I mean, if we're gonna
tell you where to go, you'regonna want to know a little bit about
these people, wouldn't you guys wantto know what is in Loo's background.
Let's dive in. I've done alot in medical device. My background was
a physical therapist before that, andthen kind of still consulting medical device.

(02:30):
And I've gotten into a lot ofreal estate, but living in this town,
just kind of seeing the transformation ofdowntown and this, you know,
awesome location came up on the cornerof Central and East Broad. It was
vacant for a few years. Thiswas a victorious secret. This is six
thousand square feet. We took downall the dressing rooms and stuff and recreated
this to really be our own space. And how long have you been open

(02:51):
now? Yeah? A year ina couple of weeks, so ah,
yeah, you know, I alwayslove sneaking up on people on their anniversary.
You know, I really wanted toin, and so Garrett and I
were asking him exactly what is boutiquefitness. It's truly an experienced this world
class lighting. There's an av systemin there that's that's to die for.

(03:12):
So I brought him in. Beforehe goes, where are we right now?
I go, you're you're in theclass, you know what? And
I started to messing with the lights. He goes, what the hell is
going on here? It does lookreally cool nightclub? Yeah it is.
It's very nightclubish. Yeah, it'sit's completely different, nothing that I expected
whatsoever. But these aren't real punchingbags. Now. These are really like
imagine yourself sitting on a like oneof those balls, one of those those

(03:35):
balls, bouncing like a bouncy ball, right, and the ball is now
being suspended by a chain, butit's so heavy. Can you describe the
punching ball that that that people areusing here? Yeah, it's like a
proprietary uh plastic that it's in,but it's filled with water. So I
tell people, it's not like thebag you used to hit in your uncle's
garage. I filled it with sandthat you break your hand when you punch,
it's super uh you know, it'seasier on the knuckles when you punch

(03:59):
it. And look, there's somepeople that weil on the bag, and
there's some people that tap on it. But it's just such a primal thing
with punching a bag that you know, bench pressing can't replicate. Now today's
day, a lot of times youcan actually take some classes online. Is
Rumble, this type of a gymwhere they offer classes online as well.
Yeah, so we do have anapp that's tied to this. Oh you
do kind of like the Peloton app. And then with that app you could

(04:20):
do yoga, you could do shadowboxing really and all kinds of different pilates
training things like that as well.Wow, you ain't doing yoga. See,
Okay, everybody brings about how greatyoga is. Maybe I would do
yoga if I was at home bymyself where they can't see me. If
I have to go to the class, that'd be a problem. I wouldn't
say you do it at home. But you're not doing yoga at home,
I know you. And so manypeople say yoga's great. So that's pretty

(04:44):
neat that you can actually do that, just like the Peloton where you can
actually work from home and watch yourinstructors. Now, is it live or
is it taped taped on demand likethis podcast? That's right, Yeah,
you're right, all right, soI'm sure that you're interested. Now,
so let's find out how many rumblesare there and how easily accessible are they
to you guys. So I ownedone in Indianapolis. That was our first

(05:04):
one that we opened with some friendsout there. Really we opened Westfield about
a year ago, and then Princetonwe opened about four or five months ago.
So we still have some other territoriesto potentially develop in Bridgewood, Wayne,
the Brunswicks right at Bridgewater that weown. But as a franchise e,
there are you know, are eightother franchisees in New Jersey and Hoboken

(05:25):
does well and Edgewater and Morristown andShrewsbury. So they're really starting to pop
up. And I think interesting thingI learned is that our Wheelhouse clientele is
thirty five to fifty five year oldmom. So when you're listening to this
podcast right now, when you guysare done, I want you to hop
over to where to go on allof our social media sites, and I
want you to see the videos.Honestly, just talking about it almost doesn't

(05:46):
even do it justice. You haveto see how cool this whole new concept
of working out is and what it'sall about. Just like Garrett's describing with
the music and the white gloves,it looks really cool, like working out,
you know, in that system thatit looks really cool. And on
top of that, the fact youever watched I mean you've seen all the
Rockies, right of course, andyou see the Creeds, yeah, man,

(06:08):
and you know that feeling at theend of the movie where it's like
I could do this. You wantto go out and box you like I
could do this. This is it. Yeah, No, this is that
feeling where you don't have to havethe watch a movie to go like you
can come in here and then walkout going, oh, I could actually
do this. This is awesome.I really, I'm telling you. I
like the feel of it. It'svery trendy, it's fresh, it's new.

(06:29):
Garren and I, honestly, we'rejust having such a good time there.
I wanted him to also describe theartwork that is on the walls of
this place. Rumble, it reallyis meat. Each studio they want us
to have a mural here, andas an inspiration to us from Staten Island,
we chose Biggie as one of themurals. He's got some rumble boxing
gloves on. And then we decidedto do a second one just because art's

(06:50):
important to us, and we choseWhitney Houston because she's actually buried down the
road, like a mile or twoaway. So Ricardo Roig is an artist
across the street who's finn nomenoal heand he did that for us. It's
just really great, really great. The other thing too, I love about
this place, Tea is the color. You know, you walk into some
places and it's it's dark. Yeah, you know. So you walk into

(07:11):
the lobby, it's bright, it'swelcoming, it's you know, and then
you go into a room where thelights are just colorful. And I love,
love, love the vibe of thisplace. I like what it's doing.
I liked the whole entire new system, the new way of going to
a gym, the new way ofworking out. How many members do you
have here? Yeah? Five hundred? Yeah, holy yeah. We're growing
and the people love it and that'sand it's different in gym's now it's not

(07:34):
like that traditional gym where you havenights. Here, people buy class packs,
people pay drop ins if they're visiting, you know, back to their
family's house for the weekend. Soall right, more about these really cool
classes at Rumble. For how longare the classes forty five minutes and they're
ten three minute rounds just like boxing, so you thinks to work and then
like a one minute active recovery whilethe demonstrate what the next rounds activity is

(07:57):
are going to be. You know, I think this, like for me,
this would work out because I can'tgo to the gym. I can't
lift things really heavy. I hada severe I had an operation on my
spinal column. So where it isthe Dodgers have said I can't lift anything
over forty pounds. It's more aboutyou know, agility and working out like
that like cardio. So this wouldmaybe work out perfectly for me. Absolutely,

(08:18):
I think this fits the bill. And again people do it at their
own pace and their weights on theweights on the strength side are from five
to twenty perfect that's what ninety fivepercent of the people using. There some
heavier weights in the back or peoplethat occasionally need it, So this is
more like an intervention. I onlybrought you here to get you to work
out. I'm learning so much fromLou, Like, this is really fantastic.

(08:39):
I love the whole idea. It'slike you said, it's not just
put on your headphones and fo andbench press or do bicep curls in the
corner. It's truly a community experience. This past week we had a happy
hour up the block at Stage House. A bunch of members came out and
just want to socialize because, youknow, this has become a part of
their life and they appreciate it,and you know, crazy stories transformed.

(09:00):
I didn't expect that people saying thatyou helped me lose fifty pounds. I
didn't do anything. You know, you guys did the work. So he
just want a building, He wanta building. Yeah, So it's just
it's been cool to be a partof this process. Do you personal training
here as well or no, we'resitting in the room. Yeah, we
do some personal training here. Andthen there's another little satellite business here called
under Wraps where we do some strengthtraining and people could really learn some Olympic
lifts and wow things to really youknow, increase their strength. So Garret

(09:24):
and I are looking at each otherand we're both dads. We both have
families. What about some moms anddads that would love to go to the
gym, but they still have theirkids around. How does Rumble catered to
the single mom or single dad thatwould love to go and take care of
themselves, but they still have theirchild kids classes in this room that we're
sitting in. Really, kids runaround, they do all kinds of different

(09:46):
obstacle courses while mom and dad arein Rumble. So essentially it's paid babysitting,
but you can come out and yourkid's sweaty and there discoverything. Yeah,
so it's been pretty cool. Iwould have loved to have been a
part of a gym where I cantake my kid. Once once my wife
and I had two kids, weweren't going anyw I was just eating chips
laying at home, but you know, it was going to the gym.
This is great, Listen, thankyou very much for having us. I
think we've gotten a lot out ofthis, and maybe you're right, maybe

(10:07):
the time has come for me totake a class here. This would be
really really great. I think it'llbe great content. You could do more
than just biking. All right, guys, So listen. If you're looking
for a new concept on a newgym and you want to test it on
for yourself, we're gonna let Loutell you where to go. Lou,
where can we find you? Onsocial media? Yeah? On Instagram Rumble
Boxing Westfield. We have some greatcontent there. You could definitely see the

(10:28):
classes and the vibe and the energyand all the people's sweating and I believe
in the uh. In the linksunderneath on Instagram, we have a link
for a free class. If youwant to try it, come on in.
We'll get you in furnatrol class andhe'll be off to the races all
right by from Westfield, New Jersey, right here on Main Street. Well
it's broad Street really, two thirtyone. He's broad It's Rumble Westfield.

(10:50):
