Speaker 1 (00:00):
There you go. Uh here, Oh my god, I've got

(00:03):
her on the line right now. Lisa, how are you? Hello?

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Hi? How are you?

Speaker 1 (00:08):
I'm doing awesome? Hey, First question, dumb question. Where I'm
sitting here in Burbank in La. Where in the world
are you right now?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I'm also in La one.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Of these days in the near future. You gotta come
visit me, Lisa. Oh my god, I know. All right,
So it has been a little too long, but we'll
get to it. I know you got a busy, busy
schedule and all that. First things first, Lisa, rock Star huge, huge, congrats.
You must feel you must feel just great about how

(00:41):
things are going right now.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Thank you so much. Oh my god. Rock Star was like,
I don't know, I was so happy to release rock Star.
You know, it's been like three years since my last
solo Lisa, So yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Thank you, was so excited. Yees safe to say rock
Star represents and I think I've heard you say something
along these lines, represents like a new era, a new
chapter for you.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Uh huh, okay, oh well rock Star is. I think
Rockstar is like my new era for me, Like I
want to show like my new side of who I
am and you know, like I'm here, I'm ready to
create more loud.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
Moments, more loud moments. I like that. Hey when you
heard I saw you post about this, But I'm just curious,
where were you when you heard rock Star on the
on the radio for the first time.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
I was. I was chilling in LA and I was
like driving around and yeah, suddenly I just heard rock Star.
I was like, what is going on? I was so happy,
So I had to film this it and post it.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
We saw that. That's uh, that's you know for those
listening outside of l A. I'm pretty sure you heard
it on Kiss FM, which is where I work at,
so that was exciting for us. Then I saw Ryan
Tedther's post, you know, follow that up and uh, love it,
just love it. Is it emotional releasing new music, especially
when you release solo tracks? Is it like, is it

(02:24):
an emotional thing?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Huh?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I wouldn't say it's emotional, but I do like but
I do like invest a lot of like my time
and my energy and for rock Star, Like, I had
a lot going on at that time, Like I was
filming the White Otis and I was preparing for the
next single as well, so you know, like I have

(02:52):
a lot of different things going on.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I mean, we're going to get to all that stuff
you just said in a couple of seconds. I had
a question set to go and I think you may
have already answered this. Is there a message you want
to convey with this new kind of chapter of music?
The line or the I guess the message I was
kind of leaning towards was bold because the visuals in
the video are just super bold. But you said loud

(03:15):
a moment ago. How what yeah, what message are you
conveying with this loudness boldness? What else can you say?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I'm I'm the type of like challenge myself, like so
I keep pushing to try like a bunch of different
things and that is shown through music and stuff and
visuals like you know, like I don't do something like
like simple. I love to try something bold, something crazy,

(03:48):
you know something, Yeah, out of the box.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
You don't do something just to do it. You do
it to make it, to make a to make some noise. Basically, Yeah, Okay,
before I talk to you, Lisa, I texted up a friend,
a mutual friend we have. His name is Ryan Tedder.
I text up Ryan, Yeah, and I said, Ryan, you've
worked with Lisa quite a bit, you know, with on

(04:13):
including rock Star. What should I ask her? From your
point of view? Give me some thoughts on Lisa? And
he sent me this in true Ryan Tedder for me,
sent me like a paragraph. We were going back and
forth for a good twenty minutes about you. I'll tell
you one thing that he said in twenty years of
producing this is him talking in twenty years of producing
songs for artists around the world, rock Star, speaking of

(04:36):
the video is his favorite video that any artist has
ever created with one of the songs he's been working with.
She is an icon. What are your thoughts on what
he just said?

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Oh my god, he's so sweet. Well this time, like
I didn't have a chance to work with him like
in person, but I love rock Star from the first
time that I.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Heard and like, thank you, thank you, And I wish,
you know, in the future we could do some things together.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
Any cool stories from the video?

Speaker 2 (05:18):
Shoot? Oh the video? Shoot? Have you seen it?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
I have just let me just show you right now.
I was just uh, I was just rewatching it again. Oh,
it's just it's just spectacular. The visual just pop. Another
thing Ryan said was about how he thought you showcased,
you know your city, you're you know everything. Yeah, I

(05:44):
love the stories because I've been on video shoots and
I don't know your thoughts on these, but that in
acting in general. Like I'll get into the acting thing
in a minute here, but acting can be kind of boring.
You do a scene, then you wait for a half
an hour or two hours or three hours, and but
you seem to make it. Do you enjoy you know,
shooting videos?

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Yes, I mean I've been doing this for I don't
know ten years, but for a rock star, like I
had a chance to shot it in Thailand, in Bangkok,
and I think that's really personal, you know, like it
means ful to me. And there's a favorite things. Favorite

(06:26):
shot that I love is in Chinatown and you know
it's like it's pretty well known as the craziest, busiest
street in Thailand, but you know, like there was no
one so I feel like I own the street somehow. Yeah,

(06:47):
So I really like that shot. A lot of it
came out so cool.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
That's got to be wild standing on that street and
basically nobody on it run.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
It's kind of scary, but I love it.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Hey, you kind of alluded to this or you would
alluded to new music, but let me let me kind
of get a little broader here. Are you working on
an album or is everything top secret? Maybe you can't
say anything, but are you working on it album?

Speaker 2 (07:14):
M Well, my goal is, you know, keep trying and
making new music. So I don't know, hopefully in the future.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I love to uh huh. I'll take that as a
maybe any US singers or rappers you want to collab
with on this potential maybe album? Oh again, maybe top secret?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
No I could tell you, well, I said this a
lot like I love to collab with Tyler, so I
will uh.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
I'll assume that's gonna happen. I hope anyway, Okay, this Uh,
you have another track coming out soon. That's kind of
what you said a moment ago. That's sort of I
think it's what you said. I don't want to put
words in your mouth, but a new track to follow
up rock Star obviously, what can you say about this
this new track?

Speaker 2 (08:13):
So, I would love to say it's something like totally
different from rock Star, like the music, style, the visual,
you know, everything is different, and I think people are
gonna love did that new side of me as well?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
So you guys be looking out for that. Of course, Hey,
I should have started off with this. Congrats on the
new solo deal with RCA and I Love. I've always
thought it's like a big deal when when an artist
signs a record contract. It seemed exciting to me. Was
there a celebration when you signed the new deal?

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Oh? I remember when this release. I was on the plane.
I was on the plane. So, you know, like I
can't do things much, but I just I just have
had to order a class of champagne.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Just do you want to plane sip and champagne celebrating
your deal? Love it? Yeah, Lisa, are you considering, by
any chance a solo tour?

Speaker 2 (09:21):
A solo tour?

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I know you have some dates coming up, but are
you would that be ever a possibility or maybe once
again maybe top seed?

Speaker 2 (09:30):
I don't know, Like what I said earlier, like I'm
still focusing on my on making new music and more
music for the fans, you know, like so you know,
maybe eventually I can do something.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Okay, let's go to acting. You're making your debut in
HBO's The White Lotus. It's a season three which is
coming up. Do you have any congrats for starters.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah. Any exciting or interesting stories from shooting The White Lotus.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Oh, I can't really say much because I signed an NDA,
but I don't know like I was, you know, I
can't I can't wait to see it on screen, like
I my my I was wrapped last week, so you know,

(10:28):
like I can't wait to see it on screen. How
Mike White captured my hometown and you know how my
fan's going to react. You know, it's my first acting project,
so I'm super excited about it.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
That must have been cool shooting in Thailand. I mean
a place that I assume it's a place you kind
of you frequented quite a bit as a kid, you know,
was it cool just shooting your first acting scenes there?

Speaker 2 (10:56):
Yes, it's feel It makes me feel comfortable, you know,
like the environment. I don't know the language everything, you know,
it's like it's in Thailand. I put. I can see
my mom's, my dad's more often, my friends, and I
can have you know, Tai food every single meal. That's

(11:19):
the best part.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
Did did a did mom and dad show up on
set and hang out every now and then?

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Yes, my mom came like several times. Yeah, and we
have a chance to spend times there as well together.
So it's pretty pretty pretty cool moment.

Speaker 1 (11:38):
Mom didn't have a cameo? Did she?

Speaker 2 (11:42):
No?

Speaker 1 (11:44):
Hey, what I said? Did mom have a cameo? I
was just joking there, you know, like like a like
a guest scene in the movie or in the in
the series. But Mom's like your Mom's like, I don't
want to act, you know, Well, oh okay, gotchall go. Mom. Hey,
did anyone give you uh, you know, before you do

(12:05):
something new, Like when I do something new, I'll get
advice from people who have done that particular uh, you
know type of work. Did anyone give you acting advice?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (12:13):
And if so, who and what did they tell you?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Actually? I had like a few lessons as well, but
like one of my friends, you know, give me advice
how to do it? Like, because I was like, how
could how can you memorize all the lines? You know,
It's like it's crazy. So he said, like, you know,
just thinking as like you're memorized your lyrics when you

(12:42):
go on stage, you know, but it's not like in
the melody way. It's more like a talking way. So
you just keep keep saying, keep saying out loud, you know,
keep practicing and then you know, and it worked.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
To be honest, that's that's kind of did you that
that would be an interesting way to learn lines is
to think of them melodically, although you can't say them
melodically because that would kind of bed. But I guess
that's a cool way to kind of think of it,
you know.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
And yeah, like you said, it's like, don't think too much.
That's just think like when you memorize your lyrics. That's all.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Gotcha? All right? Family friends, you know, mom and dad
you talked about mom and moment ago. What's all of
their you know, reaction to your success from you know,
day one to now what's there? You know, they must
they must love the journey that you guys are on.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
They super proud, They super proud, they're super supportive and
you know, like my mom, she loved to like be
on set with me, you know, to support me. Yeah.
So I'm so lucky that I have I have that,
you know.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
And same question to you, what's your reaction to all
all this success?

Speaker 2 (14:00):
Oh? Oh, I don't know. I'm just so thankful for
all this accomplishment, you know, but this is just the beginning,
I think, and I have so much more in store.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
There you go, Lisa. It is super cool to chat
with you. Thank you so much for all your time.

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Thank you, thank you for having me.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Absolutely final question, Lisa. Message to your fans you got
a lot of them if you don't know. Message to
the Lisa fans.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Oh well, I know you guys been waiting for my
solo so long, three years, and thank you so much
for you know, patience, and there's a lot more coming,
so please stay tuned and I love you all.

Speaker 1 (14:53):
Thank you so much, Lisa, You're awesome. And the last
thing I leave you with is my daughter Sophie. She
says to tell you hello, and she is loving rock stars.
She's super excited for everything. Okay, oh thank you.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
I miss her.

Speaker 1 (15:07):
Ah when I tell you said that she's gonna flip.
But you have a great one. I hope to see
you in the in the in person soon. We'll have
some fun doing an interview or whatever you want to do.
