with Christa and her squad.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well, uh, Karina, I just have to say, you are
a site right now with your.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Son, Jillian. Let's be goodness.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
This is not like, this is not a parenting moment
that I would necessarily advise and or talk about.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
But hey, this is keep its working moms.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Moms have to work and we all have babies.
Speaker 5 (00:34):
I did not know he didn't have school today.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
That was one of those things where it's like read
the emails, read the emails.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
That's okay.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
Gea will not tell me and I'll find out that
morning that morning that I have to pick her up
early for school.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
And you know it's an early release.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
So give us a visual about how you brought your
son here and where he's actually at while you're doing
this podcast.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
First of all, he's wearing he did dress himself, so
he's wearing like an over sized shirt. Yeah, pajama bottoms
that are probably dirty inside out inside out, yes, definitely
inside out. We have to note that. And then two
different colored socks.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
And then summer sandals. Yeah, even though it's cold and
rainy outside.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
And then we asked him, you know, I asked him
what he got for Easter. He couldn't tell me whatsoever.
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Oh, I did all this magic, yeah, the holidays, all
the magic.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
He forgot all of it.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
He knew nothing of what the what I did.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, I'm like, what did you get you? He had
absolutely nothing to say.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
And then and then I was like, didn't you get
jelly beans? And he's like thumbs up, yeah, you.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Know, okay. And then here's what this is.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Why I was like, oh my gosh about the Easter
bunny thing, the chocolate bunny. So my oldest son was like,
I really really this year, love. I hope the Easter
Bunny brings me a chocolate bunny because we don't do
a lot of candy in our Easter baskets and more.
Speaker 5 (01:53):
Like toys because they're young. And then I was like, okay.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
So I went over and I got it from Walt
Greens and I put three up on the counter because
I have three kids, and no joke, one of them
just breaks on the counter. But I'm with my son
you know, and and so like I buy stuff in
front of them all the time. He never notices, and
it breaks. So now I have two good ones and
one broken one, and there's no way in h E
(02:19):
l L I'm going back with my toddler to.
Speaker 5 (02:21):
Go shopping in the island. There's long lines, so I'm like,
you know what, forget it.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
He doesn't need one because he's also three, and he's
getting other candy.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
He probably won't even notice.
Speaker 4 (02:30):
Oh he noticed when I so that he notices when
he opens up his Easter basket, and we got we
were able to brush it off.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Oh, I don't know what happened.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
He didn't get one.
Speaker 4 (02:39):
I know it's not great, but there was no way
I was going back. So then I come here, oh
my gosh, a day after and the first thing Christa
asks did you get a chocolate?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
The easter breag.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
I look at it.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I'm like, oh girl, oh girl, I'm sorry about that.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
I know you have no clue, but it was just
the most funny time he has a mom.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
I'm just like, oh gosh, that bad timing, bad time.
Speaker 4 (03:05):
I just looked at you with like that death clare right,
how do you shut up?
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Shut up, and then he looked at me and said.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
He did thumbs down. He did thumbs downd, that's right,
he did something.
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Well, I'm gonna go.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I'm gonna go to Walgreens when they have their like
ninety percent off and get one.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
Yes, yeah, I get that. I get that. Well.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
On the side note, believe me, I get you to
use her baskets too, and I forgot to get her
her chocolate bunny. So I had to run back to
Walgreens on Saturday just to go get that bad boy
to put that in her breath.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
Oh you did, so you actually went back?
Speaker 3 (03:37):
Oh yes, honey, I did. Oh you know it's stressful.
You don't.
Speaker 2 (03:41):
You know you can't do it like three different times,
which you already did. But the greatest scene what I'm
looking at right now, I was trying to ignore. This
is where your son is located at this time.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
Yeah, so my son is currently located.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
Ever, Oh yeah he came.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
He he is actually sitting outside our studio window on
a chair, so we weren't hearing him play with his
music on his phone.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
So Karna adjusted him outside. I just rolled him right out.
He just rolled right out. Yeah, but we can see him.
You can see him.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
He safe, He's safe. He's just stranded in my hallway
at iHeart.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Rate, wearing his his outfit hilarious inside out PJ bottoms,
and you do.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Sandals and summer summer sandals.
Speaker 5 (04:32):
I think we should bring that look back.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Oh, we should think.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Next time we see each other, should we do inside
outmas and summer sandals with mismatch?
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:41):
TLC used to do it. Whynot?
Speaker 2 (04:43):
We would make it look so good, we would make
it look caught. Well, listen, I am so stoked again
for you. You're always keeping busy and uh just powerhousing
through your project which you and your husband created yourself
called Poggy the Yogi. Honey, you are getting even further
in this. Tell us what's going on.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Well, we're starting to get more buzz, that's one thing.
So Poggy Theogi is a show online YouTube, so we
have our own channel.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
Anyone can view it. It is free for all.
Speaker 4 (05:15):
It is essentially a modern day Mister Rogers. So Poggy
the Ogi, my husband and I created it during the
pandemic when we were just looking for better content, content
that was slower paced, that was more about community, more
about people and more about not. I say this really
reluctantly the term manners. And I only say that because
(05:36):
when you do watch shows that the you know, these
you know, adult people are pretending to be kids, they
forget some basic things like you know, opening something and
trashing stuff on the ground, or not saying thank you
when they meet somebody because everything's so fast and fun, right.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Yeah, And so it was really just like I just
want I want.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Mister Rogers back, like I want his love.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
That was threaded into a fun show. So that's essentially
what we created. We created this idea of mister Rogers,
but modern day, so we're still using modern stuff. Poggy
the Yogi goes on adventures, meets great people. He uses
things like thank yous and I appreciate thank you for
letting me learn about you.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Can I teach you something that I love?
Speaker 4 (06:17):
This is all verbiage that we want our children to
hear and get embedded into their brains really young. And
so then Poggy the Yogi goes on the children's museum,
learns how to make a pizza, learns how to hold
a job at an ice cream shop, meets teachers, crosswalk guards,
bus drivers, people who work at grocery stores that maybe
(06:38):
we don't always notice, but he's bringing this light and
awareness to these people. And then he brings all this
inspiration that he learns from these people in the community,
and he says, and this is our line, let's bring
that back to the mat. So it is that adventure show.
But then we bring this to yoga or yoga inspired movements,
so we call and Mindfulness for children, and so it's
(07:02):
this whole episode of fun and adventure. And you don't
realize that we work with social emotional learners. We work
with teachers, We work with counselors that oversee our project
and oversee the way we talk and the way we
move in the show. Granted I do write it, but
we have professionals doing this. And then Poggy's our entertainment
(07:22):
and then our host who we visit.
Speaker 5 (07:25):
You were one of them.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Yeah, they end up saying the most magical things because
they are in a place where they're teaching Pogy about
their job, about their work, about their passion, about something
they love.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
And when you put people in that.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Place, they shine, they spread their light and then that
light gets kind of you know, I say this kind
of in a goofy way. It goes through the screen
and into these children's minds and hearts right.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
And I'll tell you as a parent, as an observer,
I love watching your husband because he has created this character,
like I.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Know him as you know an adult.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Patrick, your husband Patrick, but he he has created this
character and he is in it, and he is committed.
And how he just brings lightness and happiness and how
he talks to the children. I mean, that's that's really
the connection, is how he translates everything to these.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
And I love that you said that, because so many
times we take these characters and we think they need
to be really like high pitched and goofy and wear
bright colors. And one of the best quotes that was,
so we studied mister Rogers.
Speaker 5 (08:35):
You know, I was a fan of him.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
As a kid.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
My mom read all his books. But then later when
Patrick and I were kind of designing this program together,
we studied a lot of his work, read his books,
read about who worked with him and why and how
the how he got to where he was and his choices.
And one of my favorite quotes that I think hit
both my husband, Pogey and I in the heart was that,
(08:59):
mister Rogers said, And don't call me. It's not quite
perfect in the way he said it, but it was
I do not need a goofy hat or a pie
in my face to relate to a child. And right
away I thought, okay, we need to do that. We
need to be able to relate to children, relate to
the parents of these children. So it's two sided. It's
(09:22):
not just the children. We're thinking about the parents too
as much. And that is what I think, and I
want to believe it makes us unique and poggy. The
yogi is that we are bringing in parents, we are
bringing in teachers, we're bringing in therapists, counselors, social emotional
learner experts into this project with us. But the kids
(09:43):
don't know. They just think they're going on a little
show trip to see how pizza's made right, you know,
And for twenty minutes they're just learning how to you know,
you see where you put toppings on. And then for
some of it, the you know, the host is talking
about how it's important to make sure that in any
job you do all the responsibilities of cleaning, greeting people,
(10:05):
you know. And then so that's again all really threaded in.
It's brilliant and so I'm very proud of it because
I think it's something that I would have wanted to watch.
Speaker 5 (10:16):
It's something I want my children to watch.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
And it's so much fun. I literally geek out every
time we get to film. We have so much fun.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Well, you guys are very very good at it. You're
very skilled.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Again, yeah, you both have acting backgrounds, so that makes sense.
TV background, So I mean, this is very professionally done.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
And now again you're so good at marketing yourself.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Tell us where you are going or what shows now
you're going to be going on to promote this or bigger.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Well, right now we're doing season three. So people are
now inviting us onto news stations and newspapers and that
that is that is a different step for us because
now we're in radio other radio stations, this one and
then other ones included. And what I think is so
cool about that is they're hearing that we're growing, and
so now they want to spread it. And the more
(11:06):
we can spread it, you know, not only in Wisconsin,
but then nationally, that gets.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
People to hear about us, you know.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
So yes, we have.
Speaker 5 (11:15):
Quite a bit coming up and we'll have to. I
can only tease.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Oh, I love well, I'm very excited for you. Again,
how can people go about viewing this?
Speaker 4 (11:24):
Yeah, so with season three coming out, you can go
straight to our YouTube channel. So Poggiogi Season three is
going to have a really really fun twist to it.
So again, anyone can view it. No, you don't need
any streaming, you don't need to pay for anything. That
was a huge mission of ours with Poggiogi's that we
wanted to make sure that everyone has access to it. Yes,
(11:46):
and then with season three coming out, we have a
whole new spin on it, which is really exciting. We
are going to be working with professionals dentists in the
healthcare world, so dentist, optometrist, physical therapists, speech therapist, doctors,
nurse practitioners. We're going to be working with counselors, reading therapists,
(12:08):
and counselors, writing assistance. Oh my god, there's so much more.
Oh haircut, So how we all help children take care
of their bodies? And we're going to be talking to
the people who help us do that. And then we're
going to be using this season three as still the adventures.
We're not We're not We're not going to go away
(12:30):
from the idea of the adventures and then the yoga,
but this is going to be all about our personal care,
how we take care of ourselves, and so we're calling
it Pogey's Personal Care.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
A little way with that peace, yes, right.
Speaker 4 (12:42):
So you can find you can find season one and
two on YouTube. You will be able to find all
our teasers and all our clips of season three Poge's
Personal Care on our Instagram, which is Create Made Entertainment,
and then you can all find us on Facebook Poggi
and we'll be teasing and showing behind the scenes stuff
(13:05):
for season three, but that won't actually be out until fall.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Oh my gosh, congratulations, I'm so very proud. I'm very
very proud of you.
Speaker 5 (13:13):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
Well, you know what, you were on a show and
we absolutely loved it. And we love people who just
believe in us.
Speaker 5 (13:18):
Yeah, that's that's what gets us where we.
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Need to be, right huge, with people like that shining
the light.
Speaker 2 (13:23):
Well, Greg, girl, well you're not going anywhere because we're
gonna be now chatting more on a different topic.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
But thank you so much for the updates.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Well, of course, love you.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
