Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's power one of five point three, Atlanta's number one
hit music station. I'm otis and the King, one of
my favorite Atlanta's king is in here t I tip.
How are you brother doing?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Good?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Man? I've been knowing for you a long time, and
I think we talked about this. It's been a while
since I talked to you, but we talked about this.
The first time I got to talk to you. When
I was introduced to you, was was at music Midtown
when before you had like the blow up massive hits,
and you came out and just like owned the crowd.

(00:31):
And I was like, man, who is this guy? And
then I've been a fan ever since. So you incredible
to see you in once again and incredible to see
like from that moment where you were just like you're
already like I'm the king of Atlanta already and I'm
talking You're king of the South, you know? And uh?
And I was like all right, and then you just
like proved it through life. So incredible. Man. God is good. God,

(00:54):
It's so good. Now You've got all kinds of littles
that are following in your footsteps. How crazy is that? Realm? Man?
And did you ever dream of this.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Well, I can say I dreamed of it, but you know, dreams,
you know, manifesting themselves into reality never, you know, you never,
you never wake up.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
You know what I'm saying. It always feels surreal.

Speaker 3 (01:22):
It always feels like, you know, just did God keep
doing anything for me?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
And my family, my children some of the biggest, the
greatest blessings that I could that I could ever thank
God for, you know what I'm saying, And I just
you know, I'm just eternally grateful.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
And grandchildren now too. You've got a couple of them.
King's got a new one on the way, right.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Yeah, I wouldn't even see Okay, so what people didn't know?
I wasn't pold to say nothing. And I didn't know
it either. I didn't know it.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Was a secret. You know what I'm saying. How you're
gonna tell me.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
Something, expect me to be proud of it, not tell
me not to tell, and expect me not to tell.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
You know what I'm saying. I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
But nah, man, we were real proud and looking forward
to it.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I'm looking forward to seeing him as a father.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
Yeah, you know, well, He's had such a good base
from that, Like even That's one thing I love about
you is what you pour into your kids. And we
get a glimpse of it every once in a while,
like social media or you know. Uh, the latest was
like a video where I'm sorry, I forget which one
it was, but he was filming the music video in
Atlanta and had guns.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
And oh yeah, that's King, that's King, that's right.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
And uh and.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
You gonna be so interesting.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
You came in and you were.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
Just dad, and I was like, okay, tee, all right, tip,
that's that's and that's why it's gonna be so interested
to see him as a father, because he's having a son.
And I will corrupt this child to make sure he
puts King through the same thing they King put me through.
When they don't want to go to school, I'm gonna say, no,

(03:00):
you gotta go to school for school for what I
just And I'm looking forward to this moment. Uh and uh,
you know, we're celebrating and preparing ourselves. This would be
the greatest little baby Gangster ever to be born into
the world.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
I love. We talked about the journey that I've kind
of been on with you on is just watching you
from like before, when you were just like growing out
of Atlanta becoming this massive superstar, and I became a
massive fan then. But now seeing you become a dad
and a grandfather is cool because my favorite rappers are
all like doing that now. Eminem just got that Detroit jersey,

(03:36):
his little girl Haley having a baby. He's gonna be
the first time grandfather. So we all Getting older is
when I'm.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Sayeah, man, hey, I mean, you know, it's better. It's
better to you either get old or die young. Those
are the only two options, you know. And I think
that it's better to be here to witness all of
the seeds that have been planted, all of the cultivating
of of of you know, of of lives and culture

(04:05):
and and the things that we've we've poured into to
watch them produce fruit is one of the greatest things
to to be able to live in witness.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Well, you've you've built this legacy, You've built this entire
world of t I And then you also just want
a massive lawsuit. Are you gonnaire? Are you gonna be tire? Ever?

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Yeah, I've already retired.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
These These are all things that I agreed to do
before that, you know what I'm saying. So I've already
I've retired in my mind. I'm clearly on vacation right now.
You know what I'm saying. These are things that I'm
just you know, keeping my word. I said I was
gonna do it before, and I'm gonna do it. But
I you know, I don't plan on continuing.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
To work for a living. Okay, No, I'm a I'm
a My.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Wife here, she has she's paid, she's paid, she's paid
me out.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
I'm ana stay at home dad now.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I will you know, enjoy the fruits
of your labor. I know, music is always gonna keep
calling you back. It's something in your soul.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yeah, man, I'm gonna do music for me.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
I'm gonna record it, and I'm gonna listen to it,
you know when I'm in my car and you know,
I just might every now and then, you know, just
go to Instagram and just let you out hear what
I'm listening to.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
You know.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
But I've appreciated, you know, this journey now for real,
it's been great and even you know the experience of
watching my daughter and my wife, you know, watch them
build what what they built, and to see how impactful
it was for a corporation to see value in it

(05:41):
so much and for the public to support that and
to watch them fight for it and win, you know
what I mean, That's that's just a sight to behold.
I just feel like that's a blessing I couldn't even
ask for. And it's not just I ain't talking about
the money. I'm talking about the.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Experience, right yeah, And it's not just the fighting. The
money is good for you, but in that creative space, creativity,
when you're in that world, that's that's what you got
the highest value to it. And people can't just.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
Go rip it and it is it is. That is
an intellectual property. You know, whether it's a dance you're doing,
whether it's a way you decide to wear your hair
or how you decide.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
To wear your clothes.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
If you do that as a natural extension of your
personality and it comes natural to you, that you're still
a creed, that makes you a creator. And if a
corporation that don't have the same ability to do that
takes that, that that that that creation that you just
arbitrarily do and they take it and they monetize it

(06:45):
without your permission and without you know, compensating you properly
for it.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Man, you need to take the ass to court and
hold them to task.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
I know, I understand that everybody is in a position
where they capable or where they had the means or
even the patience to do.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Yeah, because sometimes the big dog lawyers, Yeah, they tried to.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
They tried to run me down, you know.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
And if it one for my wife, I would have
walked away, you know what I'm saying, Like, man, not
just for the money, but the time, Like I mean,
maybe we got to go back again.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
I got ship to do.

Speaker 3 (07:15):
Excuse my language, you know, but thankfully, you know, my
wife is you know, she's very uh persuasive in her ways,
and she's adamant about something and uh and.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
It led to what you see today.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
And I just I just thank God for allowing me
the opportunity to be able to witness.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
God bless you man the work sided You're doing a
little more work for us. Yeah, I'm doing a little
bit more for you. Beat jingle Ball presented by Capital One.
When I saw t I on there, I was like,
let's go. I'm so excited to see on that Doc.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Shout out to Doc Oneman who called me and you
know what I'm saying and extended the invitation, and I appreciate.
I appreciate that he's been adopting holding it down and
represent for Grand Hustle for quite some time. And you know,
I appreciate him his friendship and the opportunity to come
jingle my balls right now in December nineteen.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
What does it mean to you to play in front
of Atlanta at this point in your career?

Speaker 3 (08:18):
Man, it means the world, man, because you know, Atlanta
before anyone else knew who I was, you know.

Speaker 2 (08:24):
The communities in Atlanta.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
From the cafeteria tables I went to buy six seven
different high schools, and so I was kind of like
known around the city as.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
The guy who like was the best rapper at.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
The cafeteria table, and from it to go to that
to being known in the talent show circuit as the
guy the young kid, you know, the little kid who
come in and rap better than the grown people, to
you know, being known as the youngest at LA Face.
You know what I'm saying, Being embraced by people like

(08:59):
Outcare Good and mone young Bloods, which doctor you know,
what I'm saying, cool breeze, you know what I mean.
Backbone and organized noise. From from that to you know,
being able to go into Atlantic Records and help build
an empire of an era and and build my own

(09:21):
company and introduce artists like Young Drove, like Travis Scott,
like Bob like you know, like like uh the Mine
and the OMG Girl for that matter, just to have,
you know, a hand in so many different careers and
so many different the shape and mold to coach in

(09:42):
so many different ways. So performing in front of Atlanta
is important and it's it's meaning for the cook. Before
I had the opportunity to do any of that stuff,
and before anybody else thought that I was important, the
thought that I was talented or thought that I was
worthy of attention Atlanta, the streets of Atlanta, and the
community in Atlanta, they felt that way about me.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
First.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
So I heard JD talking about how he kind of
did I think you probably were talking about the similar thing.
He said he would. He noticed that you didn't have
to go to that high school to do that, being
that talent contest, right, So he was just jumping around
high school doing as much talent contests as he could.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
That's real. I mean, you know, at a time, that's
how you were saying.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
That's how before it for the Internet, before Instagram, before
TikTok and out, that's how we were seen by people by.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
You know, a large amount of people.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
You go to a talent show with a room full
of people and you show out.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
You know, and once you do it once, now can
you do it again? And you just keep.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
Going to different talent shows, and you know, and once
you get known for showing up and showing that so
many times, then you earned the right to be seen
by professionals.

Speaker 1 (10:50):
Absolutely well. I am just feel honored to be in
the same room as somebody that has created this Atlanta
music culture. I love talking about, thank you, the Atlanta's
music scene, the hip hop that come out of the city.
I've been a massive fan of that my entire life,
watching you come up and you know, outcast fan from

(11:10):
way back to day. Right. So here's what I propose,
and I'm gonna say this out loud. The Atlanta Braves
needed t I night right because I'm the in game
host for the Atlanta Braves. We've got a big boy.
If you a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
That sounds dope.

Speaker 1 (11:22):
I want tip.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
I want to sound dope, man, I say, man, that
sounds like a.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
