Speaker 1 (00:01):
From the City that changes the World, peers Rose with
three things you need to.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Know for your Tuesday Rose got for us.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
So twenty three and Me announced that it would be
clearing bankruptcy and that it would seek a buyer. Now,
if you're like me and have used twenty three in me,
you're probably wondering, Okay, what does that mean for me
and my data? So in filing for bankruptcy protection, the
company said that there will be no changes to how
it manages and protects people's data. Users most explicitly affirm

(00:31):
that must explicitly affirm the company may share their personal data,
although your data could be part of the sale, which
is like, hey, what does that mean? So in its
bankruptcy announcement, twenty three and Me said any buyer of
its assets would have to observe applicable privacy laws for
customer data. The company also has said previously that any

(00:51):
customer data it shares with other parties is anonymous and
can't be traced to individual users, which is like, I
don't know if that makes me feel better or not.
But you can also delete your account if you want to.
You just have to log in and submit a request.
The company will send an email confirming the request to
delete it, and you do have to verify it now.
I know for me when I did it, it was

(01:13):
like do you want them to hold on to your DNA?
And I was like, nah, destroy that. Because I didn't.
That made me feel like icky about it. So hopefully
you can also request that too if you didn't do that. So,
residents of DC and Arlington, you might notice a slight
hint of chlorine in your water over the next few weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
It's exciting.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, not a great DC water in Arlington water began
flushing water lines connected to the Washington Aqueduct yesterday and
that's why you're going to see that smell. But both
water providers say the water is safe to drink despite
any changes in smell or taste. It is an annual cleaning.
It should be done in early May, and the Chesapeake
bass oxo went viral. Obviously we know this for their

(01:55):
alternate identity, the Chesapeake Oyster Catchers, specifically the logo I
don't think say more than that you know which one
I'm talking about. So they're making their viral moment count.
They posted on social media saying, if we're going to
viral let's make account. So they said, yes, we can
no longer unsee what everyone else sees and announce a
ten percent of all Oyster Catchers merchandise sales will support

(02:17):
support Survivor. It's a nonprofit dedicated to cervical cancer education
and advocacy.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
That is so cool. I saw last day and I
was like, look at you guys.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I know you said that to us. I was like,
this is amazing. So Survivor is founded by Upper Marble
resident Tamika Felder, and Survivor supports women who have had
cervical cancer and others who are impacted by the disease
as well.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
So just like, way, way to go.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
I think that's incredible. I'm roll. Soos are the three
things you need to know for the day.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Thank you, gross new welcome. Today is the final day
of voting of this batch the bad Tattoo battle, and
it is it keeps getting worse. I think, yeah, you know,
to the folks who got these tattoos, you would hope
they got them alone. Yeah, Like if a friend was there,
I was like, now this is a good idea. You
should get your girlfriend's name in the horrible cursive. And

(03:04):
then when it doesn't work out getting ext through it.
Put your next girlfriend's name down below, I mean or
have a child right out the word marta in marker
and then get that on your wrist different colors or
a heart with a skull in hearts coming out of it.
So this one ends today. It's very close between the
Maria tattoo and the cross out one. Then the winner

(03:26):
this moves on to the championship round. The win a
championship round gets a tattoo removed. It's going to be
nearly impossible to choose. Yes, honestly, we can't even choose.
No vote on the Instagram at Ymous Radio, huge things
to Norristic and Wellness Center for a sponsoring the whole
thing Gray scene now by request.
