Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Paul Miles, thanks a ton You're on news
radio eight forty whas Terry miners here. I meet a
lot of people over the course of my broadcast career.
Sometimes I meet him because they're fans in the stands
at ballgames. Bill starts one of those people. What's up?
What's Bill from Neville?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
What's going on? Terry?
Speaker 1 (00:17):
We've been in a lot of ball games together over
the years.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
We have what I've missed? You man? Freedom Hall was
the bomb?
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Well what about tonight? I mean, have that many people
back in there tonight is astounding.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
It is.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
It's good to be Bill from the Bill from the Ville,
back in the Ville on a special night night tonight.
It's amazing. I mean, I just I love the community
support from both teams.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Yeah, well it's huge because now you're living out in
the state again. You're getting reacquainted with your blue side too, right.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Yeah, you have to when you live up near the
Red River, Gord.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
It makes sense for sure. Anyway, Hopefully the Louisville Basket
University of Louisville basketball program is on its way back
up so they can be more competitive. It's just been
such a lopsided for so long.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, we need this coach k to really come through.
I think he's going to do it.
Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, and Pope is obviously full of energy as well.
So this will be fun to see these two new
personalities combine and get all that together exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
It's exciting to be here on such a special night.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
You bet, okay. So I haven't seen you for a while,
but your life's taking the sort of a turn into
the woods. And then I heard that you wrote a
book about where you live and it's haunted. Is Is
that a good way to surmise this?
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh, that's a great way to surmise it. It's unfortunately
very haunted is the full.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
Name of the book. In Shadows Canyon read yep, our
haunted cabin in the Red River Gorge.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
It's there, young man.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
What's been happening to you? Or ghosts talking to you?
Is there a ghost sitting on your shoulders right now
that I can't see?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I feel my father's spirit right now. It's all good.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Now, Terry, we met when we first initially were aired
on the show Tearing the Woods in twenty seven.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, you guys did the Great day live interviews.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
So this book is kind of a great follow up
from the handful of events that they featured on the show,
which is airing on HBO Max. Now it's called These
Woods Are Haunted Episode Haunted.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Cabin, Episode Haunted Cabin. So they tell your story there
and then how weird was that to have people around
and asking you all these questions about it on the premises.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Oh, it's surreal. I mean, it was just unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
They had actors reenact us while Swis and I were
telling our story. And in twenty seventeen, we only had
a handful of events that had happened, and now that
we've been up there a decade, we've had over one hundred.
And it's just NonStop. Once a month, something crazy, nutty, unexplained,
supernatural seems to happen no matter what we.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Do, voices, images, what are you seeing or hearing?
Speaker 3 (02:49):
We are experiencing a little bit of everything. The most yes,
all of that, and then some Uh, the most crazy
thing is when objects move and when orbs fly out
of the ground and fly around the property. It's and
what's nice is that we've been able to catch them
on video and photographic evidence. We've had other people over
(03:11):
that have seen these things as well, one of the
craziest things was when Teresa and I put up our
double white hammock for the winter and stashed it in
the attic up against the roof rafters and forgot We
locked the garage up where we had it and went
back to the main cabin. She said she forgot something
back in the in the garage, and when we opened
(03:35):
up the garage door, the hammock was laid out, sprawled
out on the floor and and like somebody had just.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Been Someone had rolled it out, rolled it.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Out after It took me a ladder and charis and
a couple of acrobatic moves to get it up there
in the rafters.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
It was so it did not fall and open. It
had to have been opened by some spirits.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
It had, yes, because there's no I mean, it took
me literally five minutes to get it up there, and
we were only gone five minutes. And yes, that was
one of the most crazy things.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
I was reading your book over the weekend and you
were talking about a light popping on something I can't
remember exactly what it was, and I looked over the
lamp across the room and said, mom, let me know,
turn it on. Nothing happened. I was very disappointed, Bill.
What is it about your spot that makes it touched?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Well, they didn't tell us before we bought the cabin
that a lady did pass away in the cabin, and
we feel like her spirit is definitely with us. I
don't think I don't think she's a mean spirit or
trying to scare us in any way. I think there's
a lot of other unknown questions about the area, maybe
some burial grounds. I know Indians were up there a
(04:45):
bunch in the Red River Gorge area. You know, we
have no idea what is surrounding us. But it's pretty
powerful if it can move objects and turn on lights
and TVs.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
And that's right, your TV would turn on. And I
I read that part of there where you were talking about, yeah,
the thing's off. Your shirt was off. Everybody went to
bed and then all of a sudden you hear you
hear voices or whatever, and then you think it's somebody talking.
But if you go on and the TV's been turned
(05:15):
back on.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Yeah, it happened three times in a row, right at
three am in the morning.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
How do you know a cat didn't sit on the remote?
Speaker 2 (05:23):
We don't have a cat.
Speaker 1 (05:26):
You got somebody getting your hammock out of the rafters.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
It would be so much better if we did have
a cat that was turning on things.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
But here's the thing. People die everywhere. You know, someone's
died somewhere around this space, many times where you and
I are seated right now, I mean down on ground
level or whatever. How come all spaces aren't haunted by
spirits who passed at those spots.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
What do you think, you know?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
I think there's certain attachments that people make to certain areas,
and if they're strong enough spirits, I think that they
can definitely have our time. One of the things that
I write about in the book is is a witness.
A friend of mine, Alan Cornette, was visiting the cabin
and he had a meditative session where the lady from
(06:10):
the house that the spirit kind of you know, came
to talk to him and said that she was not
the one messing with us and making us scared. That
was really compelling. He had a serious He ended up
in tears and was emotionally moved. He said that she
was stuck in transition and had a hard life and
(06:31):
just couldn't move on for some reason. I mean, it
was powerful he ended up having being moved to tears
and had to leave the property. And you know, things
like that make you really think. I mean it was
it was we call that we called the chapter Salty Coffee.
I accidentally put salt in his coffee that morning in
Steady Sugar.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Why do you and your wife want to stay there?
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Well, it's our home and I think that you know,
if you all the cabin, you would see where it's located.
It's beautiful up there. The land around us is there's
nobody around. We get to go hiking wherever we want,
and we've made a good connection with the community up.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
There, so it's really special to us.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
But you like people. I know, I've known you enough
years to know you like the circulation of conversation and
hanging out with people and being part of a fan
base and a group. Yes, so what is the Isolation doing?
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Well?
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Is that filling some other void for you?
Speaker 3 (07:29):
It did for the last decade. I'll be honest with you,
it's been a revelation here coming back. I've been here
for about a week and a half now and just
being around the community again. You know, we we've made
some good friends up there, and yes, I do miss
the city and.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
Good restaurants close by.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
I mean we've got Wavy Water two that's close by,
and that's about it. I mean we've you know, we've
made a hey day out of going to the restaurants
since we come to town. But you know, I thought
my friends would come up and see me more often
than they did, but then they heard it was haunted.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Nobody wanted to.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Up meet me at the cracker Barrel down the road. Yeah,
so you're somewhere you're not too far from uh what
what is it? Uh Natural Bridge? Yeah, you're you're close
to there. And is a slade?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
Is that the name of a Yes, it is. That's
the exit.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
So are there people in that town? And do they
look at you and Sharis when you walk into there's
the people with a ghost.
Speaker 2 (08:27):
After a while they get used to it.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
But yes, we've made great I mean, there's really good
people up there and they're super quality and they and
they know that community is crucial in a small place
like that. So a lot of support from the local
gift shops up there that are carrying the book. We
are self publishing on our little b F t V
TV dot com Merchandise website.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Oh, I got a bill from the vill TV.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
Television exactly b f t V t.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
TV dot com. Yes, oh, that's smart bill from the
vill TV. Yeah. So people can remember those words and
find your website for the book, definitely, because yeah, there's
a lot of chapters and there's a lot of things
that have happened. Yeah, and I guess more since you've
published the book, right.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
Oh yeah, Even while we were writing the book, events happened.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
It's funny, Terry. The energy that you bring to the cabin,
the cabin seems it seems to feed off of that energy.
So while I was reliving these events, we've had over
one hundred supernatural events in the last decade, thirty one
chapters in the.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Book, I got a little riled up.
Speaker 3 (09:38):
And it's kind of I called it paranormal PTSD in
the book. I mean it's kind of it rattles you.
I mean it shakes you to the core when things
go crazy. It really shakes you up. And it was
hard for me to write about it. And then I
got frustrated with the editing process, you know how that
is of writing a book. Never written a book before,
(09:58):
I haven't really read that many. That's the opening line
of the book, to let you know. But I was
compelled to write it. I had to write it because
somebody's got to document this thing. Everything is true, and
it's told in the synchronous order that things happened.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah, which makes it really unique.
Speaker 1 (10:15):
Do you sleep all day and then you're afraid to
sleep at night.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
I'll be honest with you, man, I've always been a
night out, even at UK and Uveil.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
I do a lot of day naps. Yes, I did,
because the night is still hard for me.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I mean you just you never get over it. I
mean it gives me goosebumps just talking about any event.
Everything kind of started for me out in Josh Street, California.
We were inspired to get an RV. I won't tell
you who was test driving the RV when we tried
to get one rolling and that didn't work out so well.
So we looked at a permanent structure. Ended up this cabin.
This guy said he had sixty of them. Now I
(10:51):
know why I got it cheap.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
He just wanted out, Yes he did. You pulled up
in the driveway, wrote him a check, He threw the
keys and never saw him again. Exactly the water switches
over there in the corner.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
It's a sucker born every day.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
I mean, you do have running water and all, oh,
we got rustic.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
We've got a well.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
And that's the challenge too, because I'm a city boy.
I mean, I'm learning the hard way how deep it
is to live semi on, semi off the grid.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
You know.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Yeah, it's a tough one, man.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
Well, it's it's fascinating on many fronts. I know a
lot of people want to read it. So to get
the book, they can just go to b f tv
tv dot com. That's Bill from the vil tv dot com.
And where's your show? It's on Max.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
It's on HBO Max. It's under the name of These
Woods Are Haunted. It's season one, episode five, Haunted Cabin.
And that's cool. It's it's airing on all the platforms.
But it just freaks us out they were on HBO Max.
I mean, it flows with my lady called me from California. Hey,
are you the couple that's on HBO. I'm like, I
don't even get HBO on Hbo, but it's an honor,
(11:59):
it's a it's just it's it's an incredible experience and
to have a come full circle back to the Bill
on the night the Bill is playing, yeah and talking
to you is just really special to have you.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Back in the city. It's good to see a bill
from the vill Boo from the boo. Let's see if
the cards can pull us off tonight they're going to
that's the luck you get. And uh, what do you go?
Use the phone at the general store or something? Or
do can you text me from the cabin sometimes Green
Anchors place to be, text me and let me know
the next time we see something freaky, I will I
(12:30):
want to pass it along to people.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Yeah, I appreciate it. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Website is b ftv tv dot com. Just remember that
and you can find the book. It's called In Shadows Canyon,
Red Our, Haunted Cabin and the Red River Gorge. Bill
Stark tells a stark story of occurrences. We'll just leave
it at that. How's that sound?
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That's well?
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Put great? See again, cuz, yeah, thank you. Man Back
