God gave David great victory in battle and whatever mission King Saul sent him on, David was successful. His popularity grew and this made Saul jealous and angry. Often what appears as extreme JEALOUSY is actually extreme INSECURITY. God gave David a wife who was in love with him. Saul used the mutual love as an opportunity to see David killed.
