check it in with us. We'realso live on Coast Facebook. We're here
on Coast from A three point five. You know, Moss is here,
the Mayor of Kingstown is here.My job by primary function, secret Dallas.

(00:27):
I don't avoid war. They cameafter us, he bullseye. Let's
stake the fight to them. I'mthe one that will make your life possible.
Mister you all right, Jeremy Runner. Eighteen months ago you almost died
and now you just wrapped Mayor ofKingstown season three? How yes, oh

(00:48):
yes, did you do that? It's happened. It's all CG guy.
I did it via satellite from mygreen screen bedroom and here and there like
I wish you your next season. To you, it hasn't been that long.
You were just here at the beginningof the year. Have been one
year since you were crushed by yoursnowplow and you walk through the door this

(01:10):
morning, just absolutely ripped. Itried walking. What this differentness? Time?
You didn't take the elevator, Rogertook the stairs. Did yeah,
yeah, I love not bad,not bad, not great, not bad.
What hurts everything? Everything hurts?Yeah, every every joint, okay,
every yeah, Yeah, it's reallyreally I think the tendons and and

(01:30):
swelling that happens around the joints.Yeah, it's more discomfort. And only
I have pains in my life, and I think it's just more discomfort.
I think. So when you werefilming and you're on set, I heard
you say that you did more likechild hours and minor hours because the fourteen
hour days just weren't going to happen. Yeah, fourteen hour days. I

(01:51):
don't think you're good for anybody.Yeah, and I think the crew kind
of everybody was really on board withit, because I was falling asleep in
the middle of the day and thescenes at at the end of the days,
I's discoverably tired. I'd known durrensand that's what I was mostly afraid
of, and it was getting tothe point where I was, you know,
have to go home and through itdidn't change it. So you kept

(02:12):
trying to find ways to figure outdo I work three days regular hours of
your work, you know, fivedays and just half days, or how
to do it and I said,we just listened to the body and because
that's all I do, It's allI can do, right, Yeah,
So so we just kind of treatedit like a like a miner and that
seemed to work out great. Andthen uh, I then turned the corner.
I gets stronger and got to getthe season done, which is great.
That's great, And I know thatyou were really happy that you did

(02:34):
come back so that the entire productioncould be there and yeah, again,
yeah, it's the only game intown in Pittsburgh, and it would be
really unfortunate, you know, becausewe just had the two strikes, right
with the right strike and then theactors strike, and I certainly was going
to try to go home because becauseof because of me on it, so
a lot of people needed the jobs. It's really important. Yeah, it's

(02:55):
a lot of people to be withoutjobs for a year. Yeah, you
know, right, Yeah, soit was it was important for me to
get it done. I'm glad wedid, and it was really happy and
pretty careful and we got a greatseason ahead of us. Yeah. I
saw your Instagram post where you putup the recent billboard of the Mayor of
Kingstown. It's right there in theBeverly Center and that was your former view.
For me, I see you whata full circle moment. It's nice

(03:19):
to have a little reminders of progress, you know, when you have a
head down and just you know, focusing on your next step in your next
breath. It's you don't really kindof see too too far ahead or certainly
don't look back. And when there'smoments like that to have reminders, and
but healthy, wonderful reminders, notbecause I do get haunting reminders every time

(03:39):
I stand at night sleep in theposition that I got ran over in.
Oh my gosh, it's a naturalsight sleeper, I am. It's like
that's exactly how I got crushed.And so I was like, I'm always
reminded negatively of that, but Imoved through that pretty quick. It's nice
to get, like, you know, little easter egg reminders of goodness man
for you come and like like Isaid, like the just me walking in

(04:00):
the room of a different strength andprowesses exactly you You are doing a lot
of like stretching. Last time, you had to get up a couple of
times just because you know you're toolong, yeah, from sitting too long.
And now you're like you know.I don't know what you are,
but I do know you're not leavingmore. The Mayor of Kingstown, Jeremy

Renner is here, Mayor of Kingstown. Three out Sunday Paramount Plus and Runner.
You've said many times that your daughterAva is your life force. Yeah,
yeah, consistent sort of throttle forme to push through and to I
get out of my own way.I don't really have any feelings, man.

(05:06):
My feelings are about how do Imake her better and my family better
and all those that I affected fromthe incident. And it's always been she's
been like the number one fuel forme, and to see the pride in
her face as I get stronger andI get better and happier and she gets
your dad back, right. Yeah, So it's my So there's my only

(05:26):
responsibility, my only duty on thisplanet, and to make her better,
give her every opportunity. What doyou think is the clolest thing that you've
taught Eva? I mean, besidesjust about living life, like just a
skill, a skill like have youtaught her how to fish? Or yeah?
I mean all those things, itbe more of what she considers interest.

(05:48):
I think piano for her something thatshe's so because it's something we both
do together. It's nice when youknow when you have you know, I
have a daughter, it's so young, but you find things to do together
instead of like sitting in the standsand just you know, expectating them grow
up. It's nice to do thingswith them. I think it's so I
always look for things that we cando together, and channel is one of

(06:10):
them. So we play together,we watch each other play, we teach
each other, and she's better thanme at this point. So but that's
a one thing that you know,it's great and it's also become it's a
big part of our lives. Musicand so that's that's one thing I think
for sure that she she would say, and speaking of music and Ava.
Here's the song you wrote for her? Is waite Jeremy Benner Coast one of

(06:33):
three point five time shot Anything Sosay I need new Street shot? You

(08:28):
likes you way way Runners on theradio, Jeremy Renner. Wait the song

(09:24):
you wrote for your daughter Ava?One of your many projects going on,
And all the news is everywhere thismorning. It's gone around the globe.
Your first movie since you were crushedby your snowplow, and it's the glass
slide of movie Danil Craig Wake Up, dead Man, A knifs out mystery.
So you're just getting right back intoit. Yeah, yeah, yep,
yep. I got to prepare forsome some work in London and then

(09:46):
but I got most important. Igot the foundation stuff for the renovation.
Yeah, I tell us about it. So you have summer camp, big,
big summer camp coming up. Gota hundred, it's more than a
hundred kids. Now it's we've goneover the limit, but it's gonna be
great. Most of these kids, you don't seem like the kind of guy
could say no, no way notto these kids. I'll give them everything.
Most these kids don't get outside much, let alones ever see the lake

(10:09):
it's the lake community, right,So we're gonna have access to this lake
all week long and the firework barsthat's out there and all these all these
amazing opportunities that they deserve, andwe're going to give it to him consistently.
These kids always need a light onform, so we're gonna try to
be that for him. Yeah, that's so, no more room can we

(10:30):
put Can we put up a link? Yeah, Jeremy can't say no.
My sister, my sister, she'sthe one that's kind of running that stuff
now, which is also really greattoo. The families really come in and
been amazing supportive, and because mysister works for child services and it's kind

(10:50):
of like easy for her already workswith foster used all the time, so
this is really really great sort ofside side thing for her. It's it's
helping me immensely. Yeah, youcan't wait. And there's the thing I'm
most excited about this this year andevery year every summer coming. Yeah,
when you see those kids' faces,it's every warding. Yeah. Yeah,
it was the soft side of you. Well, we see that with Mike

(11:11):
McCluskey here in season three. It'sit's kind of back to business that usual
as usual because it's a bit morechaotic last season and like with the prisons
and the riots and all this sortof stuff, right, but now it's
kind of we're back to business andusers. But it starts out with you
know, uh, there were nothinggood happens with with Mom and then and

(11:31):
that was actually really great because whereI was at my life, firstly,
it was pretty heavy anyway, sowe kind of ease into that. So
I felt like there's there's a bitmore tenderness and people that rally around Mike
and the family a bit. Butwith that, there's you know, there's
new people that come to town. There's new a b and new Russian mafia
and some new batties. It makesit great. It's definitely a lot of

(11:54):
explosions and fights and Mike's I didn'tthink I was going to also be able
to do the already say your episode. I'm like, I said, just
us a stunt guy. There's noway I when to be able to do
it, uh huh. And thenyou know, the day came and put
on these put on some tennis shoes, and so I guess, just go
do this thing, and it workedout great. So they kept writing all
the the stuff that does and itworked out, that's all. It looks

(12:16):
great too, And so I didn'tuse stunt guy. I'm super super happy.
Yeah, we're able to do it. Now's every perform Yeah, that's
amazing. Oh my god. SoI mean yeah, season three in the

Jeremy Renner is here. Better runover by milk, back hurt,
everything going the way right now?Okay, please welcome the indestructible Jeremy Renner.

(13:22):
Snowflowers started sliding towards your nephew. You got in front of the snow
file. Is that correct? Tryto jump back on it to stop it,
throw money him over and then Igot eaten up under the tracks.
This his mom. He was intimmated. He was about He told Diane,
sorry that your mom was reading toyou. It's a fairy tale called fairy
tale, but it's by Stephen Kingsand maybe he just like the snow milt

(13:46):
you better jow runner. Amazing. You know, we're just talking about what
you've taught your daughter Ava eleven yearsold, But what about what she's taught
you? Man? She teaches meevery day, every day, patience,
the depth of love, you knowhow, like how I don't know,

(14:11):
it's like the idea of like Ididn't think making my daughter proud would be
such a valuable thing, but it'slike, you know, she teaches me
how to to to live, tolive with I think we're both learning a
lot right now and this sort ofI don't want to say rebirth for me,
but this my life is very veryclear, very very focused, without

(14:35):
having to do much. There's nowhite noise. And with that, my
daughter feels that and sees that Imight be busy, but I don't hear
anything. But this conversation in frontof you. There's nothing going on in
my brain about anything else. Ever, every time I'm with somebody or anytime
I'm doing anything, so typically wecan get prey distracted by things. Are
life particularly muddy with a lot ofyou know, appointments and things. I

(14:58):
gotta go get my you know whatever, these things done. But there's none
of that. Yeah, that's agift. And then so we're sharing this
together. So she teaches me alot in that because I'm really really wonderfully
present with her. Yeah, andshe's going through like her you know,
young young girls stuff, and youknow, I just really just get a
witness and watch her go through andjust be there for on this second,

(15:20):
a little bit more hands off kindof parenting. And at this stage,
I feel like, uh huh.You know, it was around eleven years
old. I remember my mom askedme do something. I said no.
I say, you don't say noto me. I think I said the
same thing. You can see whatanybody you don't today. Yeah, and
then but but she did this stuffyou probably never would. She washed my

(15:43):
mouth. That was so I hadto go in the bathroom and wash my
mouth. I will never forget thatand I was eleven years old and I
never said no to her again,at least not in that way. You
know, Yeah, I don't know, Yeah, you probably Yeah. Yeah.
I was eleven writing time to comeInside, and I said, guys,
and I'm not proud of this tothis day, I said, shut
up. That was That was aboutthe end of that. Yeah, my

(16:08):
dad fixed me up real quick. He used to have a bike and runner.
In addition to everything else you're doing, you're writing a book. Yeah,
yeah, that's that's because there's justnot enough hours in the day.

(16:29):
It's it's it's really cathartic. I'mglad I'm doing it. Music was one
way to share it in one way. But because of that, there's been
so much that's come up, andthere's been so much interest in it.
So uh, I feel it's likean honor to do and maybe and it's
kind of a duty of mine todo. I feel it's responsible to do
it because it is not. Itdidn't just happen to me. It happened

(16:51):
to a lot of people. Yeah, and there's there's something we can all
learn and share from this. Ican separate myself from this incident, but
learn and learn from it myself ofwhat what's transpired and have would have grown
from and how how I can growand and there's I think that should be
shared, you know. So ifthere's anything inspirational to share, I will.
And so we're discovering a lot ofstuff along the way. It's been

(17:15):
really interesting, pretty cathartic, andhopefully you get it out, you know,
putty by the end of the year. Yeah, pushing through and then
bring it back here. Do youhave a title yet? A working title?
There might be a working title. We we think maybe my next breath.
Oh yeah, I love that.Yeah, that keeps coming up.
So we're using that now because itdoes refer to a lot of If you

(17:37):
zoom out and think of this consciousnessto to your breath, there's just like
you. That's how I actually survivedon the ice to and everything in between.
How important it is for for allof us to be to be aware
and conscious. Run around the radio, Well, thanks for all the lessons
and gratefulness charring me right now,and thanks for coming to our show.
I'm always happy to be here.We love having you. The Mayor of

(18:00):
Kingstown is in the house and Sundaythe second it's job in paramount plus,
my job, my primary function, secret place. I don't avoid war.
It came after us a bullseye.Let's take the fight to them. I'm
