(09:18):
It would be like money, like, Okay, you've got a billion dollars,
but now what Yeah, I guessyou'd give it away. But an
award though, in an award, what are you gonna do? By the

Did you see like where they were? No, you'll tell us, Okay,
yeah, yeah. Your day startedwith the Ellen k Morning Show Post
(09:39):
one oh three point five, Postone oh three point five, Inside Entertainment
with Ellen k. Well on NewYear's Eve, John Mayer checked into CNN's
New Year's Eve celebration from a Tokyocat cafe. Andy Cohen and a gigglely
Anderson Cooper were there in Times Squareand they were talking live to John and
he said, have you ever beento one of those cat cats? We
(10:00):
went to one in Shanghai. Ohyeah, yeah, and it's pretty cool.
You know, there are a lotof cats everywhere. And Andy and
Anderson just couldn't get over it.But John Mayer was like, guys,
what's the big deal. This isa place you can come enjoy a drink
or two and talk to cats. It's a cat bar. I mean,
(10:24):
I don't know how much more clearI can be about the objective. And
this is not funny. Paul Abdulaccusing Nigel Liftgow of multiple sexual assaults.
She claimed that the reality show producergroped her during her time judging, so
you think you can dance? AndAmerican idol Lithgo, of course, denying
her lawsuit allegations. Quote. WhilePaula's history of erratic behavior is well known,
(10:46):
I can pretend. I can't pretendto understand exactly why she would file
a lawsuit that she must know isuntrue. So we'll see what happens there.
Taylor Swift her a year in numbers, over one hundred award nomination,
sixty six tour dates, nine ChiefsGames, and more. And you say,
Ryan that that New Year's kiss sheshared with Trafvis Kelsey was in Kansas
City. It was, And Iwas just at a curious location sort of.
(11:09):
It just seemed to be out inthe middle of this crowded dance floor
with no security, no VIP.It was just like you could be down
the street here in Burbank, justpacked into some random bar. Oh that's
cool, they're hanging out. Theylove I mean really normal. I love
that. Here she is on coastone of three point five, and we
(11:30):
love Tina Fey. She has meangirls coming out. You twist on the
modern classic and you can see itbefore anyone else that's in advanced screening to
see Mean Girls. Catch Mean Girlsonly in theaters January twelfth, but get
your passes to see it first. Here eight hundred ninet two nine kost taking
Collar twenty and it's Backstreet Boys. All I had to give Coast one of
(11:56):
three point five. We are theon K morning, Good morning, Happy
New Year. AJ and his wifeRochelle announced that they're ending their marriage after
twelve years together. That's a bummer. Yeah, it's been a while they've
been separated. I was hoping they'dpull the nose up, but they didn't,
so AJ were sending our love toyou and your privacy as well.
(12:18):
All right, let's go to aCollar twenty. Oh, Pam Park,
Hi, Pam, you're you're goingto go to Mean Girls first advanced screening.
I'm so excited. Thank you forbeing up early with us. What
are you doing right now? Iam on my way to the doctors to

(12:41):

for a good result and we lovethat you are up early with us.
Thank you all right, thank you? Where were that came from? So
we've got pink coming up with yourL and KQ and A and a thousand
(13:01):
dollars for your graest New Year ever. And that's gonna happen between eight and
nine, same hour, Jeremy Rennertakes over one year and one day after
being crushed by a SnowCat, JeremyRenner will be here and you'll listen for
the champagne cork Poppin' which is alsoit's celebratory. Hm. Did you guys
have champagne on yours? Yeah,we did. It was a little sweet
(13:24):
for me though, Oh I likea brute. So then what do you
do? Because I noticed, Imean, you don't even like try to
power through it. You just usuallytake one little sip and side it down.
Yeah. I set it down. Then I poured it into Calvin's glass.
Okay, yeah, And then didyou go for a brute or was
that just it for you? Thatwas it for me? I didn't have
a brute. I wish I hada fruit, but I didn't have a
brute. But something did happen inthe middle of the night that night that
(13:46):
that I had to do. Ohyeah, the phone rang at two thirty
in the morning. Okay, becauseCalvin went out. He went to the
sunset Oh he did. Yeah, you know Senset room right down there,
bye, yeah, where Amiba usedto be. Yeah. So uh,
I said, call me if youneed anything, and he did? You
what it was? Coming up?The LMK Morning Show post one oh three
(14:09):
point five, Happy New Year toyou, post one of three point five.
The middle of the night, Iget a phone calls Calvin my son,
like, hello, two thirty inthe morning. What could be going
on? I knew where he was. I didn't know what I had to
do. Thought, I'll tell youthat it coming up. One of the
(14:33):
number one things to do for theyear for yourself is just stay positive at
all times. But I'm not yourhappiness hack teller. You are, Ryan
Fat can get some sweet production madefor you. It's like Ryan Manos happiness
hack. Oh cool, that's nicebecause you know you're syndicating. I love
this. Okay. The term babeand or baby Okay, okay, just
(14:56):
think about that word if it makesyou feel good, maybe like you're like
your your soul is ready to devouryour heart. Oh wow, Okay,
because you call your girlfriend babe.Yeah, babe all the time. Sometimes
I'll throw in a baby just tomix it up. Oh yeah, you
should do that. Well here's thething, and this is a good tip
for men too, That term babeor baby has a specific effect on the
(15:18):
female brain. It provides immediate emotionalstress production by causing oxytocin release in the
brain. When you hear babe orbabe, be it soothes you, like
on a physiological level. Really, yeah, there must be something wrong with
my brain. You don't like it. Call me baby baby? See,
I'm like, not your baby.Well I said it creepy, that was
(15:39):
my I didn't say it right.I should have said it sweeter, like
hey babe, Hey babe, happyknew your babe? No, no,
you're not feeling this at all.Come on, babe, but I'm not
going to argue with science, allright. So the phone rang at two
thirty in the morning for me NewYear's morning, So you know, go
(16:02):
to bed. Calvin goes out withthis friend's sunset room. Yeah. Did
you make it till midnight, bythe way, or did you go?
Did you tell me? I did? Yeah? I did? Yeah,
I want to did you Oh yeahyeah? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Okay. So two thirty I geta call because I said, look,
if you have a hard time gettingan uber home, call me. And
there were no ubers because he's inthe heart of Hollywood. Everybody's calling an
uber, right. Yeah, Somy husband and I get up right parked
(16:26):
his car, so we had tomove his car, pull my car out
and go into Hollywood where it wasjust it looked like Marty Grass. It
really did. Like every street wasfull of people. There were cop cars
on every corner just running their lightsand making sure everyone's safe. But so
it took us a while to getthere, and then we got him.
(16:47):
We picked him up and he hada sign and it was no silly string,
one thousand dollars fine if you usesilly string between six pm and noon
the next day, and there werebunch of the signs were taken down.
So we know how that sign inour house says one thousand dollars fine for
the use of the silly string.Swapped one one bad thing with another.
(17:10):
I'm taking the sign. That's right, you go, thanks, baby,
Yeah, I said, yeah.We got him home with his friend Ryan
Finn was with us. Yeah,so I dropped off the Finn again and
uh yeah. Then we got homeabout three, so we just decided let's
just go all night. Oh youstayed up. You didn't even that's it.

But when I opened it, Iwas like, hmmm, it's a
was it. I'm like, that'sjust a purchase. A needed gift is
a purchase. Yes, thank you. Last year I think, no disrespect
Roy. But still last year hegave you that like thing it stretches your
back, Yes, right, itwas. It was like a torture machine
(19:03):
where you put your head in avice and then this thing you crank it.
I mean you actually would crank itand it would stretch you. I
gave it to you riding, andthen we gave it to a listener.
Yeah. This year it was itwas an air compressor, you know,
like the little portable kind because mybike tires go fly and I love to
ride, so I always have to, you know, like fill them up.
(19:27):
Yeah, and there it was myair compressor under the tree. So
that was one of the things thatI got. That's nicer than not having
an air compressor. The silver linings, right, I'm so balliant. Up
(19:56):

you all about it. Coming upwith your top stories. Our masks back

Hundreds of sealed court filings pertaining tothe late Jeffrey Epstein are set to be
made public this week. Several prominentnames are expected to appear on that list.
We're obviously not going to go intospecifics but we will know for certain
most of the folks who either workedwith Epstein flew on his private planes and
or visited his island home with whomAnd what about this stay out of the
(20:41):
water. A whole slew of LlaCounty beaches are andre no swim advisory due
to high bacteria caused by recent rains. Malibu Lagoon at Surfer Santa Monica,
Pierre Venice, Pire, Verdondo,Mother's Beach, Inner Cabrio. The list
goes on. Basically, if you'rethinking of swimming or surfing today, be
advised. The water's kind of gross. And for the first time in seven
decades, beavers have been released intothe wild here in California. It's a
(21:03):
mix of several different families of them. They're currently exploring the wilderness of Bloombus
County. The goal is to getthem to start breeding. The repopulation effort
aimed at mitigating the effects of wildfire's, climate change and drought. They instinctively
do really great work. So thankyou, beavers. And the mask mandate
is back, at least at allhealthcare facilities across La County. It's in
response to our recent staggering increase inCOVID fluent RSV cases. So if you're
(21:26):
going to a medical facility, grabthat mask. And it's looking real nice
today, sunny, clear, warmer, above average sumps around sixty five,
really safe chance of rain tomorrow. You can bet on an eighty percent chance
at least that will have a littlebit of rain before noon tomorrow. Somorro
on Southgate, you see sixty fivefor your highs and it's forty eight in
Burbank Kost, Los Angeles. It'scoast one A three point five one A
(21:51):
three point five by Mela. Goodmorning. I'm Ryan MANO. Okay,
we got money for you, onethousand dollars. You want to get your
greatest New Year ever? So betweenA nine listen for the champagne cork type
pop the color twenty. Also JeremyRenner takes over in less than an hour,
(22:11):
and we need you. You're onpast one of three point five with
Allen came Morton Show. It's niceto be here with you. Happy New
Year. When do we stop seeingHappy New Year? I think now,
kind of like asking someone on Wednesdayhow their weekend was, right, you
know, maybe tomorrow. I thinktoday? Okay, I think now and
(22:32):
coming up your Ellen KQ and aPink's going to be a Dodger Stadium and
so are you. So in abouttwenty minutes we asked a question. First
caller with the right answer goes toPink at Dodger Stadium. We're you're home
for cash to make it your greatestNew Year's ever. So a thousand dollars
coming up in Jeremy Renner takes overthe show at eight. Also, my
(22:53):
god. So over the break,we had a memorial service for my father
in law who passed away. Hewas eighty seven and his health was in
decline pretty quickly. He went intohospice and then he passed really that day,
and I'm told that I was thelast person to talk to him.
(23:14):
I said good night, sleep tight, and then he said good night,
Ellen, sleep tight. So mymother in law said, please never say
that to me. So I mean, but we did have the memorial service
in Dallas. So we flew thereand it was beautiful. All of his
friends were there and it was justso wonderful to hear like what other people
had to say about him. Heloved to play bridge. He was super
(23:37):
competitive. So my husband stayed withhis mom in the condo area and it's
like an independent living And then Calvinand I stayed across the street at Hilton
and we were getting ready for thememorial. So we're getting dressed and there's
nothing to watch on TV. SoI put it on that GEO because I
(23:59):
love not Geo and they were talkingabout muskrats. And these kids were in
a boat with their dad and theywere hunting muskrat to then roast and eat.
Oh, this is a survivalist. So this was way up in the
upper part of Alaska and they werehunting muskrat. And so I said to
Calvin, my son, I said, you know, there's a song about
(24:21):
muskrats and it's Muskrat Love by Captainand Teniel. You probably have never heard
it. He's like, there's awhat I said, Yeah, there was
a song about muskrats and it's calledMuskrat Love. They actually it was a
country song originally, and then Captainand Tanil remade it. It's a beautiful
song. And so Calvin had neverheard Muskrat Love before. When you put
(24:42):
this on for him, do youmake him focus on it or do you
just let him kind of just letit play in the background. I didn't
even have to make him focus onit. He was like, I have
never heard anything like this before, muskrat Love, So if you're just discovering
it, and lyrics sanging and jingand a Jane flood like the ell on
(25:07):
the book looks like muscret Captain Intanila song about muskrats and love. So
now it's on his playlist. Hesent it to all his friends. So
this is kind of a generational thingthat has been passed on. And now
(25:29):
I think it's a beautiful song, and that more more kids I need to
know about Captain Intenil and muskrat Love. It's really gorgeous. You know his
real name was Daryl Dragon. Yeahyeah, I did know that. He
barely spoke yeah yeah. And thenthey divorced, so they did have a
beautiful love story. But then theythey didn't. It didn't work out for
them, but they made some beautifulmusic together and now muskrat Love is on
(25:52):
the it's on the playlist. Rightcool, we've been playing in the car
right all right, we're going insideentertainment up and ion zering with the beatdown
in Hollywood. We'll tell you whathappened next. The LN k Morning Show
on Coast one oh three point fiveand Cheryl Crow just inducted into the Rock
(26:17):

to be on stage with Pink, and Pink has got our Summer Carnival twenty
twenty four tour. Come into DodgerStadium September fifteenth, and we're going to
send you there at the llen KQ and A because their special guest is
Cheryl Crow. I wonder how Pinkis going to use Dodger Stadium because you
know, she does all the acrobaticsand the aerials and stuff, so it'll
(26:41):
be fun to see how she utilizesthe actual stadium to make this happen.
That's a big stage, done somany shows there and concerts. We want
you there at Pink her Summer Carnivaltour. All you have to do is
be the first caller with the rightanswer to our question. Fifteen percent of
us say we've regretted this from lastyear, So what is it fifteen percent?
(27:04):
It's not a huge percentage, buta sizable say we've regretted this from
last year. It's eight hundred andninety two nine KOs two. You want
to go to pink Dodger Stadium.Be our first caller with the right answer.
We'll get your guesses next. Hey, Ellen k morning Shadow on coast
one o three point five. Itis not a haircut. Fifteen percent of
(27:26):
say we regretted this from last year. It's not an argument either, So
what do you think it is.We're gonna send you a see pink at
Dodger Stadium. You're llen KQ anda more of your guesses coming up next
on coast. It's the llen kQ and a on coast one oh three

(27:51):
I'm I'm actually working for door dashman now heading to McDonald. Wait,

Yeah, my guess was like eating, oh, eating junk food. So
fifteen percent of us regretted eating junkfood last year. It's a great guess.
(28:15):
Yay, it's not the right answer. Oh okay, okay, I'll
try again. Thank you guys. All right, I have a good one.

Renner has written music while he washealing, and it's been one year and
one day since he was crushed bya SnowCat. So, oh my god,
that's insane. It's insane, andmy god, he's doing so great.

his almost fatal accident. Your topstories next, Oh, look at this
song how to Save a Life. He's love fitting this Coastal's fray and It's
(31:19):
coast one of three point five topstories Top the Hour, Good Morning of
Mellen k New Year, New laws, A handful of them now in effect
across our state. A big oneis the bumping minimum wage and speed cameras
here. Luckily they're being installed aswe speak at various intersections throughout La Glendale
and Long Beach. And banned wordsand phrases for twenty twenty four due to
(31:40):
a global poll. They say,I number five, don't use the word
sleigh anymore. Number four riz asin charisma, throw that one out of
your vocabulary. Number three at theend of the day. We're not using
that phrase anymore, so when Isupposed to. Number two is impact in
number one? Is this hack? All right? It's looking real nice to
say, sunny, clear, warm, above average temps around sixty five.
(32:01):
Oh, it is fifty in Burbank. And Jeremy Renner is here. Happy
new year, Happy one year, one day after the incident. Jeremy Renner.
Welcome, Hi to be here.Jeremy Renner's here. Yeah, Jeremy,
you brought your music. Thank youfor that, and thank you for
stopping by. How are you feelingfeeling good? Feeling good? New day,
(32:22):
new day, new year, newbreath, new step. It's pretty
amazing. Lot's to celebrate. You'relooking great, yeah, feeling all right?
Yeah, you got a lot comingup this year. And I love
what you put on Instagram with theblessing of only time in front of me.
I reflect daily on all that I'mthankful for. That's really a big
realization. Well, I mean it'sto me. It's always it's like checkpoints
(32:46):
for me. It's like state ofthe Union. I always have to kind
of check in with myself, checkin with the physical and mental emotional parts
of life. And it makes itpretty exciting, to be honest. It's
part of the gifts that came fromsomething quite tragic. There's one of thousands
of amazing gifts that that I wasable to receive. And you know,
(33:08):
there's wonderful blessings. That's all Ican say. There's just really that are
like, here's here's one I canI've never affarded a bad day for the
rest of my life. It's impossible, right, And how about that thought?
Right? So these ideas or thoughtskeep coming to me, and I'm
like, wow, what, Life'spretty dang good. Life's pretty dang good.
(33:30):
And I keep finding these things, you know, like you know,
some things I share with other peopleand most things I keep pretty private.
And but there there are wonderful, wonderful gifts that came and I feel so
so lucky and blessed for it,you know. You know that, like
the music was a big part ofthat. There's a lot of that.
These feelings are expressed in the musicwhen like lucky man and blah blah blah.
(33:52):
So yeah, it's it's I feellike a pretty lucky man. Yeah
yeah, yeah, And I gotyour seven tracks am I inbox? Yeah
exactly, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember, Yeah, here's one
of the first people I sent itto. Thank you. I saw that
you posted half the artwork and Isaid, please bring your music to my
(34:14):
show and you said, okay, guess what, I'm almost done. And
I thought, how did you doall of this while you're healing? I
know, music is you know,is a comfort to you, and you've
done it for a long time.Oh yeah, yeah, music, Yeah,
I've done since I was like thirteen. I started with the drums and
(34:35):
then played in this garage band whenyou're a kid, you know, then
wanted a songwrite, so I movedto piano and guitar and just sort of
watch people play and never want tobe a player, but so I just
want to be played well enough tobe able to compose. And that's what
I did for most of my life. But I did it for sort of
personal reasons and never made it acareer choice. It chose acting instead,
(34:57):
And as I got older, there'sthere's stuff that, you know, I
felt like that was the cross there'scross circles of There was kind of cinematics,
so a lot of stuff was goinginto shows and movies, televisions,
things like that. The music wasso I got right, so I kind
of kept doing it a little bitand this one was was much more just
It's a musical diary entry, youknow, journal entry and kind of healing
(35:22):
cathartic for me. And then I'msharing it because I think a lot of
people were on this journey with mein this in this recovery, which I
found strange, you know, really, yeah, what way, because you
know, i mean me waking upand me waking up from the accident,
I know, what the what thebig deal was? I mean, what
were people freaking out about, LikeI'm gonna be out of here? And
(35:45):
I mean I took a selfie likewhen I was in the two days when
I woke up and you were crushedYeah by a snowca Yeah yeah, yeah,
But I thought I was out intwo days, right, So I
just get why people were pretty guys. Also, I was on life support
for a few days. I didn'trealize. Yeah, I woke up and
I was intibating, like I'm thinking, I'm totally fine, Like my brain
thought I was so fine. ButI'm sure I was high on all sorts
(36:07):
of drugs and whatever. But butI didn't get why. Ultimately, and
for a long time. Still havea hard time processing why people have heard
so much. Yeah, yeah, that was hard to receive. Why I
care hard to receive? Yeah,I care because as as a mother and
(36:28):
a sister and seeing you and whatyou've gone through and the way your family
came around you. You know,I think that just we all can relate
to what you've gone through. Andthen the love of a family, the
love of friends, and how yousay it really is in your mind and
that you've used it's a mind game. Yeah. So I think it's a
great lesson that you're you're showing us. I mean, you're not just like
(36:51):
writing about it or singing songs aboutit, like you're living it correct correct,
And I think and that's why,like I really care. I've never
met you before, and i'd beenI think I hosted your cement handprint ceremony,
but I didn't get a chance toyeah you that day, that's right.
And then there you were, andI was just like wow, and
I just started like making comments likeI'm praying for you and oh my god,
(37:12):
your family and I love seeing allthe love and this is so healing.
And I didn't even know you weremaking music, right, right,
yeah, yeah, it's it's it'sreally interesting that that was a lot for
me to me to receive, evenlike from complete strangers, but all those
you know when people say there's youknow, thoughts and prayers or whatever,
yeah, yeah, or just goodwill put out. I mean, it's
part of what my recovery is about. I mean, it's it took it
(37:36):
took everything, It took everything forit to happen. And it sure short
started with me and my will,my stubbornness. If you're having to kill
me, you can't kill me,you know. But it was absolute the
will of others man, and thenthe strength of my family and the support
system I had. I mean,I'd be dead in the water if I
if I didn't have any in allof it. Yeah, honestly, so,
(38:00):
I'm very very thankful for for forall of it, for everyone,
and especially my family and my poormom. I think I had to go
through a whole lot, you know, on the on that road to recovery
back. You know, it's prettytough on them, but we've we've all
come through it. And then themusic is also like me healing was also
(38:20):
very healing for them. And thenthe music became also very uh musical sort
of narrative of the journey of recovery. Yes, that's what I told it,
and here it is on What doesIt? Wow? That sounds so
(38:45):
good on the radio. That's amazing. I love your voice too, It's
like I love the raspiness and theKurt Cobain, Rod Stewart Ish, Jeremy
Renner influences mine for sure. Doyou know what stood out to us?
And Ellen and I listened to thisweek's ago when you said the words I'm
(39:06):
sorry, yeah, yeah, andI think we both looked at each other
like, why is he sorry likethat? I don't know, I'm getting
emotional. When I was speaking toto Diane on on the show, that's
where it kind of came up becauseit was the first thing I said was
I was sorry when I woke upbecause I knew what transpired. And damn,
(39:30):
I know what that might feel likeon the other side too. That's
that's that's pretty harrowing to make someonefeel that terror. You know, I've
seen like my daughter get hurt orsomething, and I get enraged and all
these emotions start to write when youcare for somebody and love somebody, So
I can imagine what I made peoplefeel. You know that that morning,
(39:52):
you know it was and that's whatI'm sorry, and it was forever sorry
for. It's like I damaged myfamily, but you something so great,
though, But I damaged my family, and that's what I'm sorry for.
You know that, You know that'ssomething they'll never forget. They can't.
My poor nephew cannot unsee holding myarm and my eye out of my head
(40:14):
and me struggling to breathe my nextbreath. You know I put those images
in him. They can't unsee, and for that, I'm so sorry.
But I also had the fortitude toshift the images in the day of the
accident and all these things to anarrative that's about celebrations about how deep our
(40:37):
love is for our family. Lookthe lengths that we go, look at
the tests that we've been tested with, and how we overcame. This is
all celebrations, is all positive things. But it's our job to change the
narrative and perspective on this because otherwisewe can sit and be victims and suffer
and being sufferable and have January firstbe not a day to celebrate, or
the snowcat's a bad thing like,no, we need all these things are
(41:00):
beautiful things, Like my mom reallywanted to burn the SnowCat. I'm like,
no, Mom, you're not thatthing. Yeah, I need that
thing to get in and out ofthe driveway, you know, to understand
why. But we have the powerto shift the narrative into something else,
you know. And it started withthe apology of acknowledging what transpired? Mm
hmm, right, sit tight. You want to talk to Jeremy Renner.
(41:21):
He's here eight hundred nine two ninekost more Renner more new music. So
Renner Takeover and Coast one of threepoint five The l MK Morning Show,
Coast one oh three point five JeremyRenner Morning Show and Coast one of three
point five more Renner more new music. But first we're gonna take you back
(41:43):
so much to run over by aSnowCat. Everyone's on the way right now.
Okay, please welcome the indestructible JeremyRunner. That is what I talk
to my family about. We justdidn't door. That's real love. I'm
(42:06):
not gonna let anything take him down. So this, God, what's the
(42:32):
best thing about it? Looking backat the whole deal, my first conscious
thought was like, holy hell,my counter is freed up for the rest
of the year. We need headphones. Okay, so we're gonna take a
fan call. This is EDWARDO.This is Volume. Yeah, he's okay,
(42:55):
he's up all right, Eddie,Yes, Yes. How are you
guys doing today? Hey, we'redoing great. You are on with Jeremy
Renner. Awesome? Hello, Jeremy, how are you? We're all crying
in here, man, we justcaught us at a tearful moment. That's
happening. How you doing? I'mdoing well? Man. Hey. First
(43:17):
and foremost, I just want tosay I'm a huge fan. But most
importantly I wanted to say thank youman, you know, just thank you
for sharing your story with the world. You know, at a time when
the world needs it most, you'regiving people hope and letting them know that,
no matter the circumstance, that wecan't prevail. Man. Yeah,
it's it's nice to hear that,man, because I have a struggle with
(43:39):
understanding why people give a dang aboutany of this. I feel like it's
such a personal, stupid thing thatyou know, But yeah, it was
nice to share it because I feellike it does people do receive it but
I have to. I'm really beenstruggling and trying to find a way for
me to have to receive all thisattention and love and when it really represents
(44:00):
I think, when I really findmy footing in that, I don't know,
maybe there will be a little bitmore peace. Look at the great
music that's coming out of you.Mean that alone. You've got these great
tracks that came from your healing, and you know, and you're here,
we get to play it on theradio, and that in itself, you
know, is U is just oneof the great gifts. I think when
(44:22):
you were talking about the gifts thatyou've that you've learned, but also gifts
that you've you've you're giving us,did you not feel that people cared about
you before? Like I'm struggling.I'm struggling to understand what You're struggling to
understand. I think it, Yeah, part, I think there's a part
of that, right, there's apart or there's no connective tissue of that.
(44:44):
I was like, look, Ilook, I think I was maybe
famous for what I did in life. Yeah, now I became very famous
for who I am as a man. That's that's really hard to receive.
Man. I usually hiding characters andthen oh, you're Hawkeye or you're this
guy whatever, But now it wasit's more personal to a shortcoming of mine
or a mistake I've made, oran accident, whatever it was, and
(45:06):
it's an overcoming that it's it's youknow, I don't get a hide in
in the character anymore. So therewas it was hard to receive that,
you understand, right, So itwas very different, and I didn't I
didn't know that the people gave thatmuch of a heck for me as a
as a man especially, it couldbe the opposite to be like, you
know, forget this stupid star. This guy's a jerk Eddie. He's in
(45:29):
your ideas. He's laughing and cryinglike you said. So it's a range
of emotions. Yeah, but itwas. It was nice. It'sn't a
wonderful spa again, like I toldyou, you know, I didn't think
it was really that big of adeal when I woke up like I was
going to be out of the hospitala couple of days and I was gonna,
you know, get out of here. But that it's always how I
thought. I still think that, you know, Yeah, I'm just gonna
(45:49):
get up and walk around and started, Okay, I'm gonna fly out,
gonna fly out of here, youknow. Thank you Eddie. Yeah.
Absolutely. Can I say one morething to Jeremy Yes, absolutely, Jeremy
Man. Not only do you playone of the coolest superheroes on the big
screen, but you are a reallife superhero man it is. It's amazing
to see how far you've coming ayear, and I can't wait to see
(46:12):
where you'll be next year, youknow, So cheers for the new year,
and cheers tou continued progression. Yeah, happy, happy new year,
my brother. Thank you so muchfor for your love and support. Man,
it means a lot, absolutely, man, Thank you all right.
Renner, and you just released thisyesterday on the year anniversary of the incident.
You posted it. Reason number onefrom my recovery is her, and
you're talking about your daughter Ava.You asked her to wait for you when
(46:34):
you first saw her as you arrivedhome. There's simply no better motivator to
recover than to heal your family andfriends with gratitude. Always you say thank
you for all your love and supportthis last full year. Your song you
wrote for Ava called Wait He ison post one of them. It is
(46:55):
out now wait. Jeremy Renner alsothe movie that he made to go along
with the starring daughter Ava. Youcan see it on YouTube. More.
Jeremy Renner coming up the l nK Morning Show on Coast one O three
point five. Portions of the followingprogram were prerecorded all right, Coast one
of three point five were the onlyK Morning show. Jeremy Renner is here.
(47:15):
And Jeremy, I don't know howyou feel about, you know,
reliving that day. But what doyou remember? Well, it was I
was awake for the whole thing.Maybe I guess before I I maybe I
I think it was getting into thehelicopter. It was my last memory then
waking up. I mean I was, I was out for a few days.
And is it when you were inthe helicopter you knew this is bad?
(47:38):
Oh? Well before that, youknow, I think as I got
ran over, I'm like, youknow, I was awake for the whole
part of it, right, SoI it was just having to find my
next breath. If I thought thewind got knocked out of me, yeah,
be honest. Yeah. And thenso I was just trying to find
my breath. I think anybody kindof relate to, like when you're yeah,
that kind of just kind of terrifying, trying to struggle to get your
(47:59):
breath panic. And then I realized, you know, that it wasn't that,
but I still had to just breatheand just blow air out so I
can suck air back in. Ididn't know my lung was popped or any
of this stuff, and I thought, well, I think the panic came
went away, and then I justgot a regular sort of breathing. And
then I'm like, I don't thinkI'm gonna take the kids skiing today.
(48:22):
I don't think this is gonna it'sgonna work out. I don't think I'm
gonna stand up. And so Ijust kept doing body checks and I saw
my eye with my other eye,and my legs all twisted up. And
still it was always just about breathing, you know, And I knew I
was I was, and I hadto give give that body up for other
people. Now I have to writeit. I just had to focus on
(48:45):
breathing, and because if I wouldgot knocked out, I would have been
breathing, I'd have been dead water. But so thank goodness, I stayed
away through all of it. Yeah, so in the recovery and you're thinking
music, you are a musician. When did the song start coming to Well,
it's it happened. I did theDiane Swear interview in March, yeah,
(49:07):
and it came out in April. As soon as it came out,
I watched it, and then myfriend who watched it was in Nashville.
He took a lot of the wordsI said in the interview. Uh,
love the titanium one of the thingstalked about. I can't remember what her
question, I wondered. She askedyou, and you said you're full of
love and titanium. And I thought, did the song come first or did
(49:29):
Diane's you? You? You saidthat and it made a song out of
her correct correct And then she's like, oh, she really liked that phrase.
Yeah, it's because it is whatit is. Yeah, it was
full of it. And you alsosaid I'm a lucky man. Yeah yeah,
all those things. Yeah. Yeah. So that interview kind of set
intention. And then literally twenty fiveminutes after that, my buddy sent to
(49:49):
some musical sort of stuff the beginningsof Love and Titanium song, and then
like, wow, this is reallytough to hear and then when we finished
writing the song, and then thenwe did a little writing camp in fourth
of July and then wrote a bunchof more songs with a good friends of
mine and then then record I MakeIt Here and Here we are. It's
it's it's it's just so strange. Can we play one more? Lucky Man
(50:15):
is pretty hopeful. Yeah, andyeah as far as yeah, I love
I love your music. I lovethat song, Jeremy. We've been by
your acting, but we never likethat by you man. Good music is
(50:37):
so personal, is it not?Yeah? Do you just like love making
it so much? Yeah? Yeah, starting for sure. Yeah. Yeah,
Well there's you know, it's verydifferent to have a real story.
Is I have guidelines to write about, you know, and then also guidelines
to write about that other people alsoknew about. So there's it's just kind
(50:59):
of a rare yeah thing, youknow. And to me it was because
it was cathartic for me and anysort of type of healing for me and
my family. If there's others thatI was inspiring, I figured maybe this
could be maybe it helps one otherperson. Yeah, maybe other people because
music is uniting and emotional and howa lot of us. I look,
(51:22):
I do music and movies, andthis is how humans a lot of times
express and feel and share emotions togetherin a movie, theater or at a
concert or it might be. Theydon't have to all be like you know,
sad or or you know, youknow, cathartic type songs, but
because some are like kind of inspiringyou want to put your fist in the
air and that kind of stuff. But it's uniting sort of emotional experiences,
and I think them, I thinkthat's a beautiful thing to share. Yeah,
(51:43):
and I love that you're such agreat example. And also to your
daughter. Your daughter is ten, yeah, yeah, and she's seeing all
of this and all the stuff thatyou're doing. You've got the Renner Foundation.
You know, you're busy, You'vegot renovations. You're the most googled
person. You see that. Yeah, well, I don't know what happened.
(52:05):
What I do? Oh yeah, yeah, Mayor of Kingstown. You're
going right back into production next week. And U and thank you again for
that show because that's one of myfavorites. And I was so happy that
you know, you know, you'reyou're up for another season. So you
said you'll see how it's gonna gowith the with the you know, with
(52:25):
the hanging in there for long days. Yeah, yeah, you're working on
set is uh, you know,it's kind of it could be challenging anyway,
but my endurance, like I wastelling you, is, uh,
it's not quite all there. SoI think they're being a little you know,
cognizant about how how long and howhard to work, you know,
because it is it's pretty grueling todo television. It's it's we're shooting ten
(52:46):
hours of movie five months and uh. And when you're the mayor of Mayor
of Kings, Yeah, you're workingmost days, you know what I mean?
But are you able to sleep?Like functioning daily? Like are you
able to to to sleep? Dothings get sore? You got to move
around? Like? Is what isthat like? Yeah? Yeah, sleep
(53:08):
for it used to be six hourkind of guy, but now because of
recovery, it's definitely ten hours.Yeah, I have to have that's part
of my recovery. I need ateenage boy. Yeah, yeah, because
I am growing. You know, there's a lot of parts of me that
that's growing, sure, a lotof bone. Yeah, right, So
there's there's that kind of feeling andyeah, I have such like a relationship
(53:31):
with a good one good relationship withpain in my body and my body awareness,
and I just listen to what mybody allows me to do. And
I really don't push it too hardas I would as an athlete. I
just kind of listen to it andand and then I push it when I
can. But you know, I'mbeing pretty patient here. Yeah, yeah,
(53:52):
I got, I got, Igot a lot of life to live,
and I think I'm gonna ultimately likelive two dang long. It's gonna
be a problem. I think I'mgonna definitely overstay my time here. Now
you're really in destructive, like Imight have a terminator for guy's sakes.
And then all I do is spendtime on my mental health, my physical
health. And so I'm gonna likeBenjamin Button reverse eights, and then everyone
(54:15):
I know one loves gonna be dead. I'm gonna be the loneliest man in
the planet. We have a commentfor you from Nick Solis and Chino.
This is just one of thousands,so we had to, like, you
know, edit these down. ButI'm so proud of your progress since your
accident. And when Clint Barton comesback, please take it easy. So
you got your fans who want youto be careful. Yeah, yeah,
(54:39):
i'll see you have a birthday comingup, so yeah, what is a
guy who's been what's been through, what you've been through want for his birthday?
Well, my last birthday, Igot my face surgery done and my
my ankle so on my birthday,so and I kind of wanted it that.
I was like, hey, there'sno better birthday than like to get
this sorted out. It'd be mylast third reads as well. This this
(55:01):
year, I don't know. Ithink I just want to just just to
celebrate, you know, the depthsof love with every relationship in my life
has shifted and changed all for thebetter. And I just want to celebrate
all those all those those deep relationshipsI have, you know, and that's
it. Yeah. Yeah, I'mso happy that we can sit here and
(55:22):
say to you, happy birthday.Yeah what a gift. Yeah for real,
Yeah, it's it's wonderful blessing. Are you able to drive a SnowCat
again? Oh yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah you'll get back in Oh
yeah, of course when let hismom get rid of it, and I
(55:42):
I'm the mother that's like to bethe one and only right in there.
Just that doesn't feel that doesn't thatfeels good to you? Yeah, no,
I don't know if anything feels feelsI don't want to be You have
go to I have to go tothe eye of the storm of something of
anybody's problems, right if your ownpersonal problem is like what's what fears are?
Fears can prevent you from actual healing, prevent you from moving forward in
(56:04):
your life, or stop you fromdoing things that are helpful or growth in
your life. So I go alwaysto the eye of the storm. I've
always done that since I was akid, and I'm not going to allow
fear to denominate my actions or thelack there of actions. So, yeah,
I got back on that machine andI started up, and I moved

(01:00:58):
love you Ellen. So he's beenthrough a lot. But I also had
the fortitude to shift the images andthe day of the accident and all these
things to a narrative that's about celebration, is about how deep our love is
for our family. Look the lengthsthat we go, look at the tests
that we've been tested with and howwe overcame. This is all celebrations,
(01:01:22):
is all positive things. But it'sour job to change the narrative and perspective
on this, because otherwise we cansit and be victims and suffer and being
sufferable and have January first be nota day to celebrate, or the snowcat's
a bad thing, Like no,we need all these things. These are
beautiful things. And my mom reallywanted to burn this SnowCat. I'm like,
no, Mom, you're not thatI need that thing to get in
(01:01:43):
and out of the driveway, youknow, to understand why. But we
have the power to shift the narrativeinto something else, you know. And
it started with the apology of acknowledgingwhat transpires? All right? Full interview
