Speaker 1 (00:00):
Alabama's Morning News. I'm JT joining us now and Senator
Katie britt On. So many things to talk about. So Katie,
good morning, welcome in, thanks for being back with me.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Hey, thank you so much for having me. As always,
it is great to be on. And what an exciting
time for our country. I mean, what an exciting time
just I mean just for America, for Americans, it's amazing.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
You know, we were talking right before you came on.
And Donald Trump has gotten more accomplished, I think in
the first hundred hours of his presidency than Joe Biden
did in his four years in president. I mean talking
to the press, going to town halls, I mean, making
himself real available. So one of the things that he's
doing now is getting rid of DEI because it is,

(00:41):
you know, I think, you know, just racist and discriminatory.
So he says, no, look, we're going to hire people
based on merit and we're not checking boxes, and it's
causing problems and it's you know, you're discriminating against certain
classes of people if you keep DEI in place. So
I guess somebody temporarily yanked what officials claim was an

(01:01):
effort to ensure the compliance with Donald Trump's executive order
in banning the EI, in getting rid of, of course,
on the first black pilots, the Tuskegee Airman who yank.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
This look JT. First off, when you talk about the
accomplishments of the first hundred hours of Donald Trump, I
could not be more in line with you on this.
I mean, it's it is the definition of promises made,
promises kept. And the truth is he is just getting started.
And so I am so excited to talk about all
of those things with you. When it comes to what

(01:33):
happened with the Tuskegee Airmen. Look, I'm grateful for Secretary Hegseth.
He acted quickly and decisively to correct what I call
malicious compliance. You had someone within the department that thought,
I'll show you, Donald Trump, look what the Tuskegee Airman did.
That is absolutely not the I That is absolutely the
basis of merit based accomplishment. I mean, they're the history.

(01:57):
You know, what they did, what they went through with
the accomplished should not only be taught, it should be
celebrated and honored for generations to come. And that's exactly
what's going to happen. I mean, you look back to
President Trump's first term, he celebrated and honored the Tuskegee Airmen,
you know, by promoting that legendary aviator Charles McGee to

(02:18):
brigadier general. He penned the stars on in the Oval Office,
making sure that people knew, look that these airmen are
going to remain role models and they're going to continue
to inspire the next generation. And so we want our
military focused on leasality. We want them focused on merit
to achieve peace through strength, and that's exactly what the
tech skid airmen embody. So you're going to see this.

(02:41):
You see people from the far left, no matter what
the issue is, trying to undermine what Donald Trump is doing.
I mean, we saw it with Columbia and the tariffs,
and you saw AOC come out and say, well, now
we're going to have to pay more for coffee. I thought,
don't say that to Lake and Riley's parents face as
because it is absolutely ridiculous every American if in fact

(03:04):
that's what happened, if we had to pay a little
bit more for a cup of coffee, to know that
our daughter when she goes out in a run, is
going to come home and not have to fight for
her life for eighteen minutes with a man who is
here illegally, who has committed crimes on our soil, who
was not detained as he should have. Then absolutely we
will do it. I mean, you think about this. This

(03:26):
is action immediately, and this is strength. You know, Donald
Trump said you don't take your criminals back, then there
will be repercussions. And guess what, within an hour you
saw Columbia fold. And look, this is something you got
to look at. JT. Go look yesterday at the headlines
above the fold in both the Washington Posts and the

(03:47):
Wall Street Journal. If you were to read those headlines,
you would think that Donald Trump is the one who folded.
This is the problem with legacy media. This is the
problem that says why people don't trust them, and this
is why they're just they just continue to be flat
out wrong.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, and what Tom and Holman is doing now with
the President going in and getting these criminals out of here,
and you mentioned Lake and Riley, she would be alive
if the illegal criminals were not allowed in this country.
The Lake and Riley Act is going to be signed tomorrow,
I understand. But well, I'll tell you there's some cities
still pushing back saying not on my watch, You're not

(04:22):
coming into my city. And Tom Holman says, well, we
can do it the hard way of the easy way.
It's up to you. But I'm coming.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Binga Listen, Tom Holman is exactly what we need. He
is the right man for the right moment, and he
is going to stop at nothing to get these criminal,
illegal aliens off our street. And so, hey, you can
put up a fight or not. He's fighting for the
American people. He's fighting for common sense. You sit down
amongst most Americans and say, if someone is your illegally

(04:49):
and they're committing crimes, should they be here? Absolutely not.
And he's actually doing it. It is an exciting time
for Americans to be able to return to common sense
turned to a sense of safety and security. So I
say watch out, I say buckle up, because Tom Holman
is he's not going to take that from these liberal

(05:09):
mayors who somehow want all this federal funding but don't
want to comply with federal laws. That day is over.
And look, there's going to be justice for the victims
of you know, and and and it's happening today. So
we're going to hold him accountable.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
All right, let's talk about the Senate confirmation hearings as
they're continuing. Pam Bondi tomorrow our new attorney general, and
then Cash Bottel up Thursday, the new FBI director. Your
thoughts on both of those as they moved through. Uh,
going to be tougher? Should it be smooth sailing?

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Look, you've seen what the Democrats are doing. They're literally
just trying to throw anything at these at these nominees
because they know what these nominees are. They know these
nominees understand the vision of President Donald Trump, the vision
that he put before the American people that they undoubtedly
said this is what we want and where we want
to go and with our nation on November fifth. They

(06:02):
are in many instances, people who are disruptors, you know,
thinking of like we're not going to do business the
same and expect a different result. We're going to come in,
We're going to make sure that people have the you know,
the best interest of the American people first, not bureaucrats,
not agencies. You know, we are fighting for Americans. So

(06:23):
I think we will definitely get Pam Bondi through committee tomorrow.
She did a tremendous job in her hearing, it was
just excellent. So that'll be tomorrow morning and then tune
back in because we will look forward to to obviously
letting Cash do the exact same thing. I think he
is going to have a remarkable hearing. I think he
will be able to put Democrats in their place on
a number of issues, and he'll be able to show

(06:44):
that we're going to return the FBI's focus to safety
and security of the American people rather than weaponization and
wokeness that we saw under this last administration. So it's
a good day for America. And I mean, I think
this week will be It'll be it'll be great to
watch these hearings first hand, one.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Hundred percent, Katie. And one last question for you. I'm
sure you saw President Trump go to western North Carolina
and then go to California in the same day with
Milania next to him during the whole process and had
town halls, talk to people there, talk to the first responders,
the firefighters in California, and basically told that mayor of
Los Angeles who was a deer in headlights when she

(07:22):
was first asked about it, what do you tell your
citizens here in La and she couldn't even open her mouth,
and she said, look, we got to make it safe
for these residents to want to go back to their
homes before we let them in there. And Donald Trump's going,
what are you talking about. It's a pile of ashes.
Let them go back in, Let them go now, stop
the delays. What are you doing? I mean, flat out,

(07:42):
if you're the mayor of a city in this country
and the president of the United States says, let these
residents go to their properties, there's no harm in them going. Well,
they might get hurt, let them through. We'll handle that,
all right. And I find out this morning they're delaying
them once again. Do these people not get the message
that this Trump administration is bringing based on the overwhelming

(08:03):
votes that came for.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Him, And I mean clearly not. Look, I mean what
the problem is is you see yet again the liberal
elite that don't understand common sense. And we have to
get back to common sense in this country. And Donald
Trump wants recovery efforts that actually work for the people.
So that's it. It's like, give these people what they need,
let them assess. I mean, look, I have been through this,

(08:24):
and you do you want to see it. You want
to understand, you want to know what you have left,
what you don't. I mean, you've got to figure out
how do we move forward. And obviously we're going to
put the safety and security of people first. And that's
exactly what Donald Trump is doing. He said that these
fires are died down, let them see where this is,
and let's begin moving forward together. I appreciated him going

(08:45):
to North Carolina because I believe that Joe Biden just
literally forgot about those people. I was thrilled to see
my freshman colleague from my class who's now the Vice
President of the United States, JD. Vance, heading into Virginia.
As JD said, we will not forget these people. We're
going to stand with you through this process and figure
out how to get you back on your feed. And unfortunately,

(09:07):
the last administration pushed these people to the side. Donald
Trump is saying, no, we're going to put the people first.
We're going to put common sense back into our country.
And again, promises made promises, cat Donald Trump is doing
it exactly what he said he's going to do, fighting
for everyday people. He is not worried about bureaucracy. In fact,
he wants to cut it out and let people and
let people thrive in this nation.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
Well, Katie, thank you so much for the work you're doing.
I appreciate you coming on with it so it's always
good to catch up. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Have a great day today, get cash to tell over
the finish line this week. It's going to be good.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Let's do it all right. Thank you Katie,
