Speaker 2 (00:14):
Welcome back to the Dan Caplis Show with Sheriff Steve
Riams setting in today as your guest host, and I'll
actually be with you the next couple of days, so
hopefully we can bond and form some friendships over the
next couple of days. As Dan Caplis is out fighting
for truth justice in the American way in real life.
You know that guy's constantly on the go. So anytime
(00:36):
I get a chance to set in here for the
big guy and cover his show for a few hours,
why not. So we got through the first hour going
into the second here and I challenge all the listeners,
all the potential callers out there, call in three O
three seven one, three eight two five five. I want
to know where you stand on the legal immigration topic.
Do you think we should deport them all? Are you
(00:56):
with the fifty six percent that says send them all
home and then we'll let it sort itself out. If
they ask to come back. Are you with the seventy
percent that says, well, I think we should deport you know,
the criminal legal aliens are the ones that are here
doing criminal acts, but maybe find a pathway to citizenship
for the ones who have who have kept their nose
clean and not gotten in trouble. Or are you the
person that says open the flood gates, let them all
(01:18):
back in Trump's policies are completely wrong. I'd love to
hear from you either text, phone call again five seven
seven three nine, start your text out with Dan or
three h three seven one three eight two five five.
And the reason I asked that question is because I
associate with a bunch of folks in law enforcement who
deal with that criminal side when when someone's getting arrested
(01:39):
and you know, potentially has an ICE an ICE violation
on top of their criminal charge. So that kind of
skews my view of the illegal immigration process. But I
also encounter a lot of folks in my everyday life
that may not be here under the most legal status,
but they're not violating the law otherwise. So they're here
(02:00):
trying to make a living, They're here trying to scratch
out a place in Colorado and make this their home.
And you know, sometimes I wonder if there's a if
there's a better way for those people to find citizenship.
And I also have to ask myself into the last
four years, if I were a person who was in
l Salvador or Argentina or wherever else and I was
trying to find a better life for myself and I'm
(02:22):
watching the news in my home country, or I'm watching
American news broadcasts and they're saying, the borders open, come
on in. You know, we support you coming here. Was
there a little bit of, you know, for lack of
better terms, false advertising under the Biden administration that you know,
the doors are open and it's a home for everyone.
And so those people are here now and they're going, well, now,
what do I do? You know, they've brought family with them.
(02:45):
You know, I don't know the correct answer, but I'd
love to hear from you guys as to what you think,
because I know it can't be as cut and dry
as as you know, the news media would like to
make it, or or what we make of it, even
here on talk radio. Having said all that, Colorado has
invited a bigger, a bigger influx of folks here by
(03:05):
making itself a sanctuary state. And while you'll have Governor
Polis come online and say no, we're not a sanctuary state.
You know, we agree with our federal partners. We just
want them to do their job. He keeps signing off
on bills that makes it very difficult for law enforcement
to interact with with anyone in the ice world or
(03:25):
in the border patrol world. And on top of that,
we keep seeing these bills that protect illegal immigrants from
from basically having to deal with the same things that
we all have to deal with in society. They get
a little bit of a hand upper hand. I wouldn't
even say a hand up, but an upper hand. So,
you know, when we're looking at the state that Polus
has created, and then the thought process of oh, well,
(03:46):
you know, Governor or future Governor Bennett as he would
like to think of himself, is going to come in
and he's going to be this change agent that fixes
all these problems that his own party has brought to us.
And I can't help but go back to this clip
that we start at the very top of the show's
clip twenty nine. If you would ryan.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Many of America's most expensive places to live, where opportunity
is most limited, are run by your party, including Colorado.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
How does your party fix that?
Speaker 3 (04:17):
That is a fact. We have to be for building
more housing. We have to be for building housing that's
less expensive. We have to be for reducing regulations so
that it doesn't take years and years and years for
people to build housing.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
All over the state.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
One of the things that I loved about being superintendent
of schools in Denver was that I never met a
teacher who didn't live in Denver. It was emphatically not Seattle.
It was emphatically not San Francisco. Now, all over Colorado
there are people that are having to drive two hours
to get to work. We're turning into California. And with
all respect to California, I don't want Colorado to turn
(04:53):
into California.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
He doesn't want Colorado to turn into California. Well, too late, Buster,
your party's been part of this process for quite some time.
In fact, today I went on the state legislature site,
the General Assembly site, and just typed in immigration to
see how many bills would come up. I thought, well,
I'll print a list of all the different bills with
the word immigration. Well, my printer would have melted down
(05:17):
if I'd have tried to do that, So then I
typed in illegal immigration again. The list was just astronomical.
So I started going off with some of the ones
that I just knew, and I mean just from my
own brain, of how many different bills have been passed
over the last five or six years that have negatively
impacted law enforcement as it pertains to illegal immigration. It's huge.
(05:37):
But the most telling one is a house built nineteen
Dash eleven twenty four, which I talked about on a
few previous shows. But there's one that's even worse that's
coming through that I'm going to talk about just a
little bit because I guess that we're going to have
on after the break. Representative Carlos Baron from House District
forty eight is down in the state House right now
trying to take some counter punches against this thing. It
(06:00):
Bill twenty five Dash two seventy six, and it's a
whale of a bill. And when I say that, it's
I think it's twenty nine pages long, and you know,
I don't know too many good laws that required twenty
nine pages to be written, But regardless, that's our state
legislature right now, and they're cranking through some stuff to say,
(06:20):
you know, hey, let's give them more and more rights.
But this bill would actually make it illegal for me
to let any person associated with ICE into the Weld
County Sheriff's office, except for any place where the general
public was allowed. So if they wanted to try to
put their hands on someone to pick up for an
immigration detainer, they would have to wait until that person
(06:41):
was released into the public lobby, which we've seen all
kinds of disasters for that. Regardless, it just seems absolutely
nuts to call out one law enforcement agency or one
law enforcement entity and say you can't have access to
a governmental building like every other law enforcement agency would.
So the FBI shows up, I can let him in.
But if if ICE shows up, sorry, you got to
(07:03):
go to the front lobby. That just makes no sense.
While we're talking on this comment, a few texts of
rolled through. It says sheriff my son lives in Penell
County in Arizona and has strangers with backpacks walk walking
through his acreage all the time. He has lived there
since two thousand and the past few years have seen
much heavier traffic. The last year they are walking. In
(07:24):
the last year they were walking in giant groups. Hopefully
that's uh. That's gone down quite a bit in the
last four months, but nothing stops overnight. Another texture here
which kind of cracked me up just a little bit
when we were setting up that last audio clip. It
says sending them all back in pretty much cap all
caps and then Sheriff Steve to port any illegals, allowing
(07:46):
them to stay as an affront to those who immigrated legally,
and it says retired from Littleton, l e O. Here's
another one to port the criminal illegals. And why is
nobody talking about the millions of illegals who were improperly
issued social security numbers by the Biden administration. That's a
great question, because how do you work here? Otherwise, we'll
(08:08):
go ahead and go to break. When we come back,
we'll get House Rep. Carlos Barona on the line. We'll
maybe cover a few of these questions with him, because
some of this stuff may be outlined in Senate built
twenty five to seventy six, and he may be able
to point some of that out to us. But as
I said, we'll go to break, we'll come back, we'll reload.
We'll have Carlos Baron on and you're listening to the
(08:30):
Dankplas Show here with Well Kenny Sheriff Steve Reams covering
for Dan in his.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Absence and now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (08:41):
Welcome back to the Dan Capless Show. You got Well
Kenny Sheriff, Steve Riams filling in today and Ryan's just
a master with the songs coming in from break. I mean,
this is an on point we're talking about should illegals
be deported or should they have a pathway to citizenship,
and whether or not Colorado is a sanctuary state. So
that's a perfect transition into our guests. That's on hold
(09:02):
with us. Right now, we have Carlos barn from House
District forty eight. I'm going to call him a freshman
representative down at the state House. But Carlos, welcome to
the show. Thank you, Cheffriams. How you doing. I'm doing great, Carlos,
thanks for coming on the show. You know, we've been
talking a little bit today about illegal immigration and kind
of you know, where this state is at in that
(09:23):
process and some of the crazy bills that have been
passed the last few years down at the state legislature.
I know you've had to deal with some of them
down there at the State House this year, but I
prepped you with Senate Bill twenty five Dash two seventy six.
I think that's coming over to the House right now.
What's your take on that bill and is that a
sanctuary state bill?
Speaker 5 (09:45):
Yes, thank you for the question and your one hundred
percent of right, Sheriff Freames. It's a lot of these
bills I've been coming through the House floor, and I've
been trying to take the lead on a lot of
these bills coming from me. I can I can do
that for my caucus, for my Republican Party because I
am an immigrant myself, my parents are immigrants. I was
(10:06):
born in Mexico. I came over here the legal way.
We went through the process. I took the test to
become a citizen and it was actually it was a
really good test. I hoartily believe that everybody should take
this test at least once, even if it's just for fun.
Uh so they so they know the process of somebody
(10:27):
that's actually coming through the legal way, that that you know,
how to help them understand what we went through. To
become citizens, and and and and studying for this test
really gave us a good point of view of what
country we're coming into, what country we are going to
be a part of, and and to be able to
to how do you say, like like really really understand
(10:52):
you know, the greatness of this country, the history of
this country.
Speaker 6 (10:56):
We're going to be a part of.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Son, I'm so glad you brought that up. I call
you Carlos because I consider your friend. But you know,
you bring up that there is a legal way to
do this, and it has to just totally offend you
when you see these kind of bills come through that
are that are defending the folks that have basically cut
the line in front of you, as a person who
did it the right way with with your family, as
(11:19):
you said, when you were you're younger, you came to
the United States. What what is your take on this
kind of stuff when you see these bills that are
that are meant to protect the folks that basically cut
the line in front of you.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Yeah, of course that we find that unfair. And I
talk to a lot of people in my community that that.
Speaker 5 (11:37):
Went to the same process I do, and they.
Speaker 6 (11:39):
Find it unfair as well. It's it's not the right
way to go about this. There is a legal.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Way it should be done, the legal way it could
be done. And I've argued this at the well plenty
of times that I understand the immigration system is a
little broken right now.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
It is a little hard to be It could be better.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
It could Yeah, it could be way better. And that's
and that's what I'm trying into portrays like we instead
of passing all these laws of how people cut the
line in front of people, we should be we should
be advocating for making it a more streamline process while
keeping the vetting process intact. Absolutely, the vating process is
very important in the immigration system. While we keep that intact,
(12:21):
there is a way to make it a little bit
more streamline, yes, and and how and actually promote people
to want to become part of this country.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Sure, let's let's shift gears just a little bit back
to center. Bill twenty five seventy six. Again, I think
that's coming over to the House if it's not already there.
What's your take on the bill and kind of what
are the what are the high points that you see
as problems with this bill or do you do you
see this as being a fix to anything kind of
what's your take on the bill?
Speaker 5 (12:48):
No, I am aware of the bill Center Bill two
seventy six. It actually went through the Senate floor today.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
Okay, there were there were a few.
Speaker 5 (12:56):
Amendments that were added on to it by the bill sponsors,
of course, but it's still a bad bill in my opinion.
Speaker 6 (13:02):
It undermines the.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Public safety, prohibits local law enforcement from cooperating with federal
immigration authorities, even in cases involving serious or repeat offenders.
I see it the stabilizing the legal system. Of course,
retroactively allows guilty pleas for petty offenses and traffic misdemeanors
to be vacated, weakening the finality of court rulings. So
(13:25):
and then the most important part that I find it
pretty egregious is that it's a taxpayer funded legal aid
for unlawful presence. It imposes a fifty thousand dollars fine
on government employees for cooperating with immigration enforcement. I mean,
we're using taxpayer money to local governments to pay the
(13:47):
fines for you know, people cutting lines and not being
able to.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
Enforce the laws.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
And honestly, this funnels those fines into.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Immigration legal defenses of coursing taxpayers to subsidize legal defenses
for individuals here unlawfully.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Well, i'd like to say I'm shocked by the bill,
but unfortunately, you know, there's been some version of this
that's been pushed to some degree through the House the
last couple of years. But my measure of whether a
bill is necessary is usually, you know, can you say
it in just a couple of pages or even one page,
and this thing is thirty pages long. It goes through
(14:27):
all kinds of stuff dealing with the education system, and
you know, can you share information about a person's you know,
their their immigration status with funding opportunities for them to
go to college. I mean, there's all there's a huge
mess in here. But I think where you hit the
nail most on the head is as you're talking about
interactions with law enforcement, it's just one more attack. Do
(14:51):
you think there's a chance that this bill makes it through?
Does it get to the House, and if it gets
to the House, do you guys have the votes to
try to kill it? Where do you see this going?
Speaker 6 (15:01):
Well, it didn't go through the Senate.
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Well today for second reading, it'll be on the Center
floor for third readings sometime this week.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Rumor and a rumor in.
Speaker 5 (15:11):
The state Capitol right now that it might be coming
to the House Committee in Judiciary as early as this Friday.
Speaker 2 (15:19):
Okay, So, and.
Speaker 5 (15:21):
Obviously you know both chambers are controlled by Democrats, and honestly,
I see, I see that it might go through. We
could battle it all night long if we want to,
but unfortunately we.
Speaker 6 (15:36):
Are outvoted big time. We're out voted forty four to
twenty two.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
So I know it's I know on some of the
gun issues, you guys have been able to peel a
few Democrats away and kind of get them to come
to your side of the equation. Does that same thing
exist on immigration bills or is it pretty much a
divided caucus?
Speaker 5 (15:55):
Yes, that that exists still on immigration bills. There are
one or two Democrats.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
On the other side.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
I kind of have a little bit of common sense
on the immigration subject, but most most of them on
the in the on the House are pretty hard.
Speaker 6 (16:10):
Like like the gun bills, they will vote this in.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
So your feeling is this thing is going to hit
the House and probably get fast tracked. If we can
cut a few things out, maybe we're in good shape,
but not a lot of hope from what I'm hearing.
Is that correct?
Speaker 5 (16:23):
No, Yeah, like you said, Sheriff frames, there's there's so
much in this bill. It's thirty pages long. There's so
much in there. And to be able to cut things
out of it to make it a better will making
it a better bill is a long statement, it really is.
Speaker 6 (16:37):
You can't make this a better bill. Uh.
Speaker 5 (16:40):
And and if you can't, you basically have to do
a strike below on the whole bill to make this
a better bill.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
And it's it's so big, it's.
Speaker 5 (16:48):
So vast, it has so much details in here that's
really negative for for citizens in this in this state.
That you you can you can cut a few things
out to make it less bad. But yeah, it's something
that's going to be fast tracked pretty good. And like
I said, we can battle this on the House for
all night long as we can, but it's not going
(17:09):
to change anything. Unfortunately, a lot of the Democrats on
this on the that side of the aisle already have
their vote in mind before we even read the bill.
Speaker 2 (17:17):
On the floor. Yeah, and I understand that, you know,
I think that right now it's a matter of paying
the playing the watch or playing the clock and trying
to see can you stall some of these bills out
so some others can't get in Representative Rome. Before we
cut away to a break, we have a heart break
in about thirty seconds or so. Tell the people where
your district is located and kind of how they can
(17:38):
contact you, if they want to follow you, if they
want to donate to your campaign. Again, you're a new
guy down there at the State House. I'm sure any
funding you can get with help. So where can they
find you? And what area do you represent? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (17:50):
Sure, so I represent House to stect forty eight, which
is Adams County in Weld County.
Speaker 6 (17:55):
So I start from.
Speaker 5 (17:55):
The south end of I mean the north end of
Adams County, of the Brighton area, all the way up
to eighty five Corridor to the south end of Greeley.
Then I go out to Curzy, go down seventy six.
Speaker 2 (18:06):
What's that website, Carlos, what's that website?
Speaker 5 (18:08):
Yeah, the website Carlos for Colorado dot com. That's f
O R Colorado dot com.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
All right, I just want to make sure you got
that in so we could get some funding. Thanks for
coming on with us. Carlos, We've got a hard break.
You're listening to the Dan Kapla Show with Steve Reims
as well Kenny Sheriff setting in to cover the day.
Speaker 4 (18:31):
You're listening to the Dan Kapliss Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Welcome back to the Dan Caplis Show with well Kenny
Sheriff Steve Riams setting in the driver's seat. Today. Before
we went to break, we'd talked with House Rep. Carlos
Baron House District forty eight talking about a bill that's
traveling through the State House Send a Bill twenty five
Dash two seventy six. And there's no way to cover
this bill in two hours of radio. But I encourage
any of you out there listening, get online and read
(18:55):
this thing, especially if you have insomnia. I shouldn't say
that because if you read it real closely, it'll probably
tick you off and wake you up. But you need
to read this thing so you see just how radical
our state legislature has gotten and some of the stuff
they're trying to push through at your expense, not only
figuratively but literally, because it does require a lot of
money out of the system to enact some of the
(19:17):
parts of this bill, and it definitely negatively impacts law enforcement.
I challenge all of you two to call in at
three out three seven one three eight two five five
or text in with Dan at five seven, seven three nine.
Again we're talking about where do you stand on the
issue of illegal immigration? Do you think you know, like
most of the country, fifty six percent of the country says, hey,
(19:37):
send them all home. Are you in that seventy percent
that says, well, send them home? But maybe let's clean
up the system and figure out a way for some
folks to stay here. The latest couple of texts it
says illegals need to be deported period. And then another
one here it's a great question. It says, can the
FBI act on behalf of ICE? FBI walks into the jail,
removes the illegal criminal, hands them over to ICE in
(19:57):
the parking lot, still in handcuffs and shackle. And the
easy answer to that is, any federal authority right now
has been given the same authority as ICE. In fact,
they've been commanded that their first their first mission is
the mission of ICE. So the easy answer is yes.
But it still doesn't help in the process of of
what this bill isn't acting. It just creates yet another barrier.
(20:18):
We have a couple of callers on the line. I
want to get to those folks. I think we have
Brian and Boulder. He's been on the on the whole
the longest. Brian, what do you got for us?
Speaker 7 (20:27):
Well, so I'm I'm all for deporting them. And the
reason I'm all for deporting them is because of what
it's costing us in benefits. Sure that these people are
not entitled to They came across the border illegally and
they're not entitled to everything, free housing, jobs, health care.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
You should really read Senate Bill two seventy six.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
Well, it's just here's here's my here's my other point
about this. Yeah, Donald Trump is exactly right America first.
And the reason I say that is, as a first responder,
if you show up to a dangerous situation, what is
the first thing you're supposed to do?
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Sure, Steve, we got to make that place safe. We
got to look out for I mean, that's our first
thing is to make the scene safe.
Speaker 7 (21:15):
Do you have to look out for yourself?
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Well, that's true, because you.
Speaker 7 (21:19):
Can't save anybody if you go down.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Sure. Yeah, that's inherent with every question.
Speaker 7 (21:24):
Is about saving America because we can't save the world
if America goes.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Down, right, Yeah, I know your points are well taken.
Speaker 7 (21:34):
We don't have benefits for all these people. We cannot
fork over twenty billion dollars worth of free benefits for
people that came across the border illegally.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Bran, I'd argue, we don't have enough money to cover
all the people that are here in our country with
all those free benefits, much less the people that are
coming in illegally. Look your points right on totally. I
totally agree with you. Are your sentimental If we send
them all back, let them start over again if they
want to try it the legal way, given that that opportunity.
But you know, starting with an illegal act is a
(22:05):
hard no, is what I'm hearing from you.
Speaker 7 (22:07):
Yep, all right, Trump is right. We've got to be
America first. We've got to save America, and then we
can take care of the world.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
I'm going to guess most of the callers agree with you,
and I do for the most part as well. So Brian,
thanks for the call. We're going to move on to
the next one. We've got Yvonne from Denver. Yvon what
do you have for us. I hope I said that.
Speaker 8 (22:25):
Right, Well yeah, von okay, yep, I go for b
that yes, we should send them all back and then
have them reapplied. But I am also at immigrants. I've
been in Colorado since nineteen seventy two. I only lived
in this state. And the problem is why weren't you
talking about this before or in the process when all
(22:49):
this still was being an action. Because the problem is
is what I see is that we have these people
that are supposed to be representing us, and I don't
think they represent the majority of the people who That
(23:09):
may have changed because Colorado has changed a lot. However,
the thing is is that enough people don't know what's
going on. We've lost so many rights because people do
not know what's going on.
Speaker 9 (23:21):
You couldn't be.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
You couldn't be more on point. And you know, what
happens down at the Golden Dome should be something that
everyone in Colorado is paying attention to. I mean, this
should be a number one on people's radar. But there's
two things. One, you know, people have busy lives and
they think when they elect someone to go down and
represent them that they're representing all their values. And it's
clear that the Democrat side is representing this far left
(23:45):
twenty percent and they're not really representing the majority of
their constituents. But number two, you know, the folks down
at the Golden Dome do some stuff that just shows
you that they're not being upfront. They'll introduce bills in
the wee hours of the night. They don't want want
to be under inspection. And that should tell you everything
you need to know, which is why even more citizens
(24:06):
have to engage. We have to pay attention to what
they're doing there.
Speaker 8 (24:10):
They have to show up to that chamber and they
have to be in that chamber like they do in
Parliament and.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
Say something, absolutely, where'd you immigrate from Mexico? From Mexico? Okay, well,
welcome to the country. You've been here for a while.
But you know, thanks for doing it the legal way,
thanks for coming in and more importantly, thanks for your
comments today. I agree with you. You know, starting with
an illegal act is probably the tough deal. I think
a lot of people jump the line because the process
(24:37):
is so difficult. I think there needs to be a
reform process for allowing folks that want to come here
the right way, a little more streamlined way of doing so.
But that's no excuse for cutting the line. So again, Vaughan,
thanks for the comments and thanks for the call in.
Today we're going to move on to Cindy and Aurora. Cindy,
what do you got for us?
Speaker 9 (24:57):
Hi? Yeah, I just wanted to speak a moment on
your point of immigration.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (25:05):
I was the one who.
Speaker 9 (25:07):
Recorded the video of TDA and Aurora last year, and
I have very strong opinions.
Speaker 2 (25:14):
I'm assuming you do. I think I know who I'm
talking to.
Speaker 9 (25:18):
So yeah, on immigration, and I really feel like so
many were allowed and unvetted.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Yeah, only the only.
Speaker 9 (25:28):
Solution would be for everybody to go back to reset.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
So I said that at.
Speaker 9 (25:35):
The beginning, if they're illegal, they should just go back
to the nearest border.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Is this Cindy? Is this the same Cindy that kind
of got caught up in the apartment messover in Aurora
with the TDA gangs. So let me rephrase this question
to you, Okay, you know, instead of should they go back?
I think that's pretty clear what you think. Do you
think TDA has earned the designation as a terrorist organization?
Speaker 6 (26:00):
Absolutely?
Speaker 2 (26:02):
And what gives you that feeling? I mean, you know
that's a strong feeling. There's been some challenges to the
Trump administration of whether or not these people should be
on that list. Why do you think that those folks
belong on a terrorist organization list the TDA game?
Speaker 9 (26:17):
Because this was not random crime. I've lived in low
income housing all of my life. I've seen many crimes
my whole life. Sure this was organized crime.
Speaker 6 (26:28):
This was they all looked out for each other.
Speaker 9 (26:32):
I have videos of them clearing the property with their
weapons and the way they're looking around the building.
Speaker 6 (26:39):
These people are trained. So let me ask you this,
especially the ones that were in Aurora, Cindy.
Speaker 2 (26:45):
Was this crime sometimes just the sake of perpetrating crime.
There was no endgame, There was no hey, we're going
to steal. This was sometimes the crime just for the
sake of criminality.
Speaker 9 (26:55):
Oh. I imagine for some of them, as you know,
for the sake of criminality or for the sake of
what they thought they needed to survive. I'm sure they
felt that. You know, desperate people do desperate things. Sure,
but the level of criminality that they're willing to do
easily unprovoked, the level of warfare that these people are
(27:18):
capable of, We're not used. We as American taxas are
not used to seeing.
Speaker 2 (27:23):
Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more. Yeah, they're Yeah,
they're definitely a tough group, Cindy, I could. I could
probably spend a whole show just talking with you. But
I appreciate you calling in. I think most of the
callers understand. You're one of the people who step forward
in the low income housing over in Aurora and said
enough's enough. I'm going to work with the cops. I'm
(27:44):
going to try to help get these people put away,
and we are thankful for you doing so. Hopefully more
of them all will end up going away in the
future and and go back to whatever prison that we
can get them into. We know Venezuela doesn't want them,
which is a pretty big sign that there's a problem.
So I think before we take this next caller, we'll
probably cut over to break. We'll catch Joe from Arvada
(28:06):
after the break. Joe, if you can stick with us,
we're gonna cut to a break. We'll get back to
you as soon as a break's over. You'll be the
first caller up and again you're listening to the Dan
Capless Show here on six point thirty K. How was
Steve Reims, Well Kenny Sheriff as your guest host.
Speaker 4 (28:20):
And now back to the Dan Kaplas Show podcast.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
Welcome back to the Dan Capless Show with Well Kenny
Sheriff Steve Riams setting in the driver's seat. Today we
are in our last segment of the show, and it's
just amazing how fast two hours goes by. You spend
several days trying to figure out how to fill the airtime,
and then you realize you got way too much material,
which is okay. Before we go to a Joe on
the line, got a text here, says brianon Boulder is
(28:43):
absolutely correct. Just like when you board an aircraft, they
tell you to put on your oxygen mask first before
helping others. So, in other words, America first policies. That's
on point and very correct. Joe, you waited through the break.
What do you got for us?
Speaker 6 (28:59):
Very first? The sheriff raims here, when your law enforcement
career is over, you just might find yourself in the
radio business. You're doing a good job.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
Well, I appreciate the feedback, but I don't think Dan.
I don't think Dan's needs to worry about Dan.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
And you know you're doing being a service. Did you
did you serve in the military shirt I did.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Not, you know, kind of a long way around that.
I went through maps. I was trying to enlist in
the Navy, and I found out that I have a
pretty I shouldn't say, I found out they found out
that I had some some color blindness that disqualified me
from virtually everything I wanted to do. So I kind
of shifted gears at that point and I went into
the law enforcement world and serve that way, but always
(29:44):
had a desire to serve. Yeah, I wish that's the
one thing on my resume. I don't have that. I've
always been a little disappointed by it. But Joe, what
comments did that for us?
Speaker 6 (29:54):
So this is this is as I told Kelly, the
you know, this whole thing the last well, the previous
four years under a Biden, all this open immigration, this
was nothing more than the Democrat Party wanting to harvest votes.
(30:15):
That's all I want. They just they just feel that,
you know, these people come in, they're you know, they're
gonna that they will end up dependent on the government.
And guess what, So those are government votes and and
and in my opinion, and I think I'm right. It
was all about just harvesting votes. I mean, it's just ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
Well, Joe, if nothing else, it definitely affects the way
congressional districts are put together because that's based on population,
and so if those people are counted in a census,
then they're also counted in the way that that a
congressional vote goes. So you know, you know, California gets
all the congressmen, and Colorado even added a congressional district,
so you know, for what that's worth. Let me ask
(30:55):
you this question, because I've had my clerk and recorder
tell me that no illegals never vote. Do you do
you trust that?
Speaker 6 (31:03):
Well?
Speaker 2 (31:03):
No, Well, I guess that's one point.
Speaker 6 (31:06):
Emphatically emphatically How she.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Can say that's more emphatically right?
Speaker 6 (31:12):
I mean, how many? How many of these people? Look,
I understand people want to come into America, who would
not want to live here?
Speaker 2 (31:20):
Why would? God?
Speaker 6 (31:21):
We all thank God that we're Americans, absolutely, but you
just can't let people in and and it just it
just boils my blood. Not to mention, you know, the
numerous crimes, some of them very bad.
Speaker 2 (31:37):
Trust me, I say it every day. I see it
every day.
Speaker 6 (31:40):
God It's like, let's say, this would not this would
not be happening if these people were not on their soil.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Right.
Speaker 6 (31:47):
Well, I mean we have enough. We have enough bad Americans.
We don't need to bring more in.
Speaker 2 (31:52):
So I hear this all the time, saying, well, you know,
they're not committing all the crimes, and that's true, they're not.
Let's say I get twenty arrestees brought to the well
to jail and day, if two of those are illegals, Well,
you know that that's a that's a percentage there, that's
a that you know, we're having to deal with. We're
having to use resources to deal with people who are
in the country illegally, and that's resources that we take
(32:12):
away from folks that we should be we should be
focusing on. So, yeah, there's an impact in all of this,
and it's easy to sweep it under the carpet and say, oh,
it's no big deal.
Speaker 6 (32:21):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
But I love your comment about our illegals voting. I
think that's the most on point comment of the day.
Speaker 6 (32:27):
So, and I ask you one more thing.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
I go for it, Joe.
Speaker 6 (32:29):
We got just a couple of minutes, Okay, I can't
remember if it was you or another shaff But I
know one of the sheriff deputies, a female as I recall,
riding her motorcycles to work, was killed.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
So you're that's that's my office. Yeah, that was Alexis
hind NEETs.
Speaker 6 (32:49):
Actually she kill buy an illegal alien.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
Yeah, and you're you're previewing my show for tomorrow. I'm
gonna do my best to honor Alexis uh and the
way in which she was killed on her way to
work a few years back, and we're going to tie
that into the illegal immigration discussion. So Joe, thanks for
calling in.
Speaker 6 (33:08):
You know, well again again, sheriff, this is this is
If it were not for that illegal person being here,
she would still be serving your serf.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
Y're one hundred percent correct, and she was a hell
of an officer to use your favorite phrase there. So
Joe again, thanks for calling in. You know, it's been
a great show today, a lot of a lot of
different topics covered.
Speaker 6 (33:29):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (33:29):
You know, obviously, I think the world mourns the loss
of Pope Francis, and I was just great to have
the Denver archbishop on with us today. Again, I wish
Dan had been here to do that interview because I
know that would have meant a lot to him, but
hopefully we carried it well and he'll get to listen
to it on the podcast on one of his drives home.
Having said all that, let's shift gears just a little bit. Ryan,
(33:51):
I think you're like a basketball fan, maybe maybe even
a hockey fan. Yeah, and we get a Nuggets game tonight.
I'm a huge I'm a huge basketball fan. I love Thenuggets. Yes,
and that game the other night was amazing. Oh it
was stressful though. Yeah, Well that's that's good basketball though, right.
I think tonight it may not be as stressful. I
hope I'm wrong. I hope Denver. I hope Denver can
(34:12):
hang in there with that game too. Is always tough,
so he's going to hang forty. Well, I'll take that.
I'll take that all day long. Hey, it was great
setting in for Dan. I'll be with you back tomorrow.
You're listening to The Dan Kafla Show with Well Kenny
Sheriff Steve Reims as a fill in here on six
thirty k How thanks for being with us
