(00:00):
My last guest for today. I'mnot even I don't know whether I pronounced
the g or ganew. Okay,is it German? German? Exactly?
Yeah, Okay, I was.I figured it was German, and I
was going to say ganal, butI didn't want to miss it up,
all right. Matt Ganow is marketleader with Wells Fargo, who, of
course Wells Fargo has been sponsoring thisfor forty eight years. And I guess

(00:21):
with that COVID year, I can'tquite say forty eight years in a row,
because there was a year where wedidn't do it and I wasn't here
and you weren't here. But fortyeight years. So why is this so
important to well Two things? Whyis this so important to Wells? And
why is this so important to youpersonally? I mean, we've been doing

(00:41):
this for a long time because somany of our team members appreciate the organization
and what the National Sports Center forthe Disabled does. The fact that they
bring recreation back into or into people'slives teach him fortued brazilience motivates us,
and the year after year we havemore and more employees that want to be

(01:03):
a part of this. In fact, us this year, we have over
one hundred and twenty five volunteers gettingalmost five hundred hours this weekend to help
support and it just continues to growand grow and grow. What percentage of
the volunteers are from Colorado or dothey come from around the country to do

(01:23):
this? Well, I'll tell youwhat. We have folks that have flown
in from all over the country, volunteering leaders, team members, all converging
here in winter Park. So itis a mix of both. I see
your title as market leader. Whatdoes that mean? I have a good
fortune of leading our wealth and investmentmanagement business for Wells Fargo across the Rocky

(01:46):
Mountain. We have about four hundredprofessionals that all focus day in and day
out in enriching people's lives through advice, through service, and hoping to help
everyone achieve their dreams. So it'slike a private client at banking. You
got it? Yeah? Okay,my sister's in that business, but for
a different bank that I won't name, So let's talk to her. Yeah.

(02:07):
So yeah, I mean every yearI talk to a Wells Fargo person.
I've been doing the show for quitea few years in a row,
except the one year where we didn'thave it, and I've always just been
I don't know if impressed is theright word. It's not a good enough
word. But for how much youguys really seem to love it, it's
not business for you. This isabout giving back. It really is about

(02:30):
giving back. This is their largestfundraiser, as you know, for the
year, and so the opportunity tobe able to help raise funds, to
participate in a corporate challenge, raisefunds for the disabled skiers. N SCD
cares so much to be able touse those funds, also to be able
to staff the people that they needto be able to accomplish their cause,

(02:52):
and so it really is a weekendof giving back. Smiles all the time.
And maybe I leave you with thisthat what motivates us is the organization
reminds us that anyone is able andanything is possible, and to have the
blessing to spend the weekend here witha number of individuals and recognize, stay

(03:15):
open minded, recognize than anything aspossible. Okay, so this question isn't
it It's not exactly related to thatlast one. What's that huge ring on
your on your What's is that aclass ring from something. I graduated from
West Point, I had the opportunityto serve our country for a number of
years. I had a feeling thatmight be a service academy ring, which

(03:36):
is why I wanted to ask.It reminds it's a centering point for me.
It reminds me of my values. It reminds me of self as service
and giving back, and that's whereI do wear. I'm I'm a navy
brat. I'm sorry. That's good, good answer. I'm not. But
okay, that's awesome. Okay,So, uh, what did what did

(03:59):
you do? What did you doin the arm I mean you got to
you owe the army sometime after yougo through your list points. So what
did you do? I was acommunications officer. Engineered networks allow you to
talk from the mill, the woods, mill of the desert. Are you
a network? I am not anerd. You're not a nerd. Okay,
somehow, somehow, they I justslip through the cracks and here we
are, And did you like it? Did you? Hey? Proud to

(04:21):
have served. There's no doubt thatthat our great servicemen and women make a
lot of sacrifices, a lot ofsacrifices to depend on our country. It
is. It is a selfless, selfless job. But we made a lot
of great friends. We got alot of perspective traveling the world, and

(04:42):
I'm proud to observed. Did youhave a parent or close relative who was
in the army or other service?I had a father. I have a
father who had served well before Iwas born. Yeah. My wife is
a classmate of mine from West Point. She had a brother. She and
her She is sure, she's itmight be her. She's the smart one.

(05:03):
Okay, Well you met your wifeat West Point. Yeah, yeah,
I love it really good. Well, thank you for serving your country.
Thank you, ros I appreciate it, and thank you and Wells Fargo
for everything you do here every singleyear and for forty eight years of commitment
to incredible organization with us. Yeah, glad to it's uh, my listeners

(05:25):
know because I say it even whenit's not this day, that this is
my favorite show of the year everyyear, the most inspiring show of the
year, every year, every year. And I'm I'm I'm grateful to all
of you at Wells Fargo for makingit possible. Thank you, sir,
thanks for shing it. Thanks thanksfor serving your Country, go Navy.

(05:49):
