(00:00):
Yeah, ripped up news. Youneed advice, so you don't have the
come running just as fast as wecan. Show Shooter's gonna help, come
Dix. It's the Troubleshooter Show.No Tom Martino, Paige, Tom Martino
(00:26):
here, Welcome to the show Man. Do we have a lot to talk
about today? It's car Friday. And I got my uh my honorary car
Morons in the expert Morons. Moronis a, by the way, a
title of honor on this show. You can afford. Huh, It's an
affection, yes, YouTube morons. And then we have Facebook flunkies. I
(00:51):
don't I don't like Facebook. Inever I don't spend time on there.
I've gotten rid of all my pagesexcept our professional page there. And then
welcome, by the way, andwe got Kevin Calkin, Sheridan Auto Tech
Jeffic Camera Transmission Deputy Docks in thestudio. I don't know where our other
deputies are parts unknown. They're walkingaround ready to take cases to help people
(01:12):
out. And then also I havegreat news today. Southwest Airlines is abandoning.
They're abandoning their stupid unassigned seat cattlecall boarding. They're going with assigned
seats. Bravo, bravo. Youcan pay for better seats, you can
(01:33):
pay for priority, you can payYes, thank god. I liked Southwest
except for their stupid, stupid seatingsystem. It was the craziest, most
ridiculous thing in the world. Especiallypeople would get one a boarding pass,
(01:53):
one in a family of nine, and then save seats, so priority meant
nothing. If you pay for priority, it meant nothing. People. That
was the biggest fall, the savingof the seats. The other one was
it was terrible. It was justterrible. I hated it every minute of
it, and I knew you'd betalking about that and I was gonna stop
(02:15):
on. Thanks Mark, good tohear you. By the way, are
you back in town. We are. I am at the Franktown mother Ship
today. I'm wondering why didn't youcome in and say hi to everybody.
I thought you were at home orI might have. Okay, well,
anyway, here's the deal. Anyway, what we're doing is we're gonna now
(02:35):
have a signed seating and you canpay for priority and all of that.
Now, that's just more logical thatthis cattle call thing they were. I
don't know wellout the saving, Ikind of liked it, But you're right,
saving seats was stupid. No,you liked it. So if it
wasn't for saving seats, you'd liketo see just so you could just randomly
go on and sit where you want. I mean to me, that made
(02:57):
you know, an aisle seat, you just go back a little further grab
an aisle seat you don't want to. Yeah, I guess I see what
you're saying. It's just more casual. It's instead of you know, trying
to get the exact seat. Youknow, that's assuming that there were aisle
seats. There were always ile set. There's always ill seat. I mean,
if you paid the priority what tenbucks to get you know, in
the first group or something, youcan kind of pick where you want.
(03:20):
So I once saw a baseball teamsave seats, went with the coach,
safe seats for everybody, and soI look at it. I would say
saving seats probably didn't happen the majorityof time. It didn't. You know,
somebody saves a seat for their wife. I don't care about that.
But anyway, I'm really happy nowSouthwest will be probably the perfect airline,
(03:40):
or will they raise prices now becausethey always had the best prices and bags
free. Are they going to changeall that? And another thing about these
carry ons, They got to bemore strict about those now. I know
Mark was pissed at one airline.I forget which one it was, but
they measured his thing and said heowes money and it's the arbitrary. It's
because it fit in there in thedimensions. But then when they put it
(04:03):
up on end it didn't. Andhe said, well that's not what when
you have dimensions, for God's sakes, it's not a square, it's a
rectangle, you know. And theytried to tell them standing it on end
it went over the rectangle. Wellthat's ridiculous. I mean, the whole
idea is to have a dimension.Otherwise, why didn't they just put a
square there exactly? Well what aboutpeople traveling with kids? You get the
(04:26):
car seat, the strollers, theyou know they cover about the first of
all, let's just say it likeit is. You know, kids should
not be allowed anywhere on the airlines. They should be forced to take trains
or buses. Let's just say itlike it is. Well, no kids,
know, kids for traveling or maybenot baggage, but maybe you have
a compartment underneath that's pressurized that youcan put them to sleep for the for
(04:49):
the duration of the Yeah, okay, no seat belts, honey, there's
a big bouncy house. I'm sureI'm going to get like somebody say,
oh, how dare you? Howdare you? Because there's no such thing
as humor anymore. Yeah, theyshould put a place underneath the plane.
(05:11):
It should be safe and pressurized.I don't want to see the kids gasping
for air. But keep the littlebastards down there, let them cry all
day. I love kids. I'mjust kidding, I really do. Let's
talk to Lynn, Lynn and Daniel. Daniel, I'm sorry, my husband
just stepped on my toe. Ohmy goodness. Sorry. Okay, can
(05:33):
you hear me on speaker? Ican hear both of you. I can
hear both of you. Man,what's happening? Well, okay, so
we does some renovation for the house. This year is going to be our
big year to the a lot ofmoney out of different carry White House to
get this done and put it behindus. Well, we heard a contract
company called Kona ko and a koand a and what were you doing?
(05:57):
What were you? Was this anew house to you? It's a new
well we've been here ten years.Oh okay, so it's a remodel.
It's we're replacing a deck in theback that was the goal. Okay,
the houses around us they've done thisreplacement because and you hired ConA. Okay,
you're replacing a deck. And youhired ConA, and this is Lynn
(06:19):
and Daniel and when you hired Kona. What went wrong? Well, it's
ultimately what went wrong was they disappeared? Oh crap, Oh how much did
you pay them? Well, paytwenty thousand dollars because we gave him a
pobbet. Then we gave him moneyto order the material, so you paid
(06:41):
total they did they totally disappear?Or are they just ghosting you? Well,
right now they're ghosting. And Iwent by their office the other day.
There's no sign on the door. It's Derek. It's locked up.
No trucks in the back by theloading docks. And I talked to a
gentleman who works for the company nextdoor, and he's had the day before
there was an older couple doing thesame thing. Oh no, how much
(07:05):
hey, Daniel or Lynn? Howmuch work did they do? Nothing?
They did? They did the drawings, inspection. Everything looked good. We
were waiting for the next stage.Yeah, and then we got a regularly
approval on the plan they came upwith. They did was supposedly, you
know, it was to prove anengineer. Did you get a permit?
(07:29):
No, that was for them topull Okay, so twenty grand and nothing
nothing? Nothing? Oh my god. Okay, now that you know that's
that's a crime. That that risesto the level of a crime when you
consider the uh, let's see aContractor's Trust Act. But did you how
(07:53):
long ago? When was the lasttime you talked to KNA? When did
you sign the contract? We havea DOCU signed document with them? When
roughly April time frame in April?Got it in April? Okay? And
who is the person behind KONA?What? We had numerous different points of
(08:22):
content. Was there any owner thatyou did you ever deal with an owner
or a principal? No? Wedealt with first the estimator and then we
dealt with They sent out two guyswho were project managers. What research did
you do on this company? I'msorry, what research did you do?
(08:43):
Well? Like everything else, wewent online. We were at different reviews.
I've got their Facebook page pulled upright now, and there's a number
of glowing endorsements for them. Wethought that this was going to be a
reputable company. And from what weunderstand now talking to one of the former
employees, he said, is itKona Construction or Kona Contractors Contractors? Okay?
(09:11):
And they are in LLC. Andwe signed the contract on May twenty
first, twenty twenty four. Oh, May twenty first, okay, May
twenty first, and they're in LLC. That's why we started coming out.
We started, I believe the firsttime they came out was in April.
But we signed the contract on Sidetwenty one, twenty four. That's okay.
Now do you know other people thishappened to well only when Daniel we
(09:37):
went out yesterday and saw that thetrucks were gone, the life were out,
the company was seemingly gone on thebusiness now they were out of Highland's
ranch, right they Centennial Their officethat I went to is on sure.
Oh really, it's on easter incantaAn near the airport there. It's one
(10:01):
four five five zero, East EasternAvenue, Centennial, one four five five
zero okay, yes, east eastern. So anyhow so the business next door
pulled my husband another couple, oldercouple pop by the day before and said
they were contractors after house worked ontheir duck and they disappeared and haven't come
(10:22):
back and they got nothing. Sothe last time we heard from the company
was an email on July eighth tellingus, because what you put everything in
a queue, saying that we're thenext one they're going to meet about and
give us to deck because we werepushing them, what's when's our startgate?
So then we got to do somethingabout this. I wonder how many people
(10:43):
have been ripped off? Did youI don't know if it'll matter, but
did you go to the U let'ssee, did you go to uh the
district attorney at all? So far? The only the only thing I've done
is like I call the friend ofmine who works in insurance business. She
immediately recommended you. Two people immediatelyrecommended you. And I am going to
(11:05):
try and stop payment on a littlebit we put on my credit card because
I know this, oh for sure. How much did you put on the
credit card? Only only a littlebit like under three thousand okay? And
the rest? How did you paythe check? And the jack being cashed
and that was to allegedly order allthe materials as all track. Okay,
we got to research this, Wegot to give this to somebody to dig
(11:28):
into this. We got to figureout where he is and all of that.
Man. Yeah, and so nowlet me say one more thing.
So the person that we have spokento, his name is Luke. Luke
was the initial person who came outand did the estimate, and he called
up a couple of days ago tosee what was going on and proceeded to
tell us that he left the companybecause they were no longer paying him.
(11:50):
And he told us the person, the admin person that we were dealing with,
quit a week ago yesterday, andyeah, basically, and he and
then he also told that this KNAwas a very reputable company for many years,
but two years ago they sold itto new owners. So that's that
(12:11):
was not a parent in the researchthat we did. I'm looking at their
Facebook page too. I'd like toknow who the clown is behind him.
Hold on, man, well, here's what we have to do. We
have to find they're listed on Facebookas Highland's Ranch. You got that too,
bro, Hyland's Ranch. Okay,hold on, let's see who we're
(12:33):
going to give this to and thenwe'll talk to Greg about Cox and Dave
about transmissions. Hold on, Lynnand Daniel, Hi, Tom Martino,
your troubleshooter. You know, wejust have to put the word out right
now, we really do. Lynnand Daniel got ripped off for twenty grand
(12:58):
and to know if anyone else hasbeen a victim of this company right now?
I mean we we can't find anythingon them, and we were just
trying to figure out where the hellthey win, who the owner is.
We're gonna have to go to Secretaryof State see if we can find anything
at all. This is atrocious. That's a lot of money to lose people.
That's a lot of money. Andwe're talking about a company called ConA
(13:24):
Contractors. Hey, maybe we startln at this employee. Do you have
any of the numbers of the peopleyou dealt with that even if they left
the company, maybe they'll help usout. Let me bring up that.
There you go, Lynn or Dan, you'll go ahead. We have Luke.
I do not hit his last name, No, but I don't want
(13:45):
his number on the air. Iwant to get it off the air.
So who else do you have inaddition to Luke. Okay. They use
a software called base Camp, whichis a project manage sauce ware. In
base Camp, you can keep onindividuals who work for the company. But
can you still log into base campand see your project? I can,
and there's there's nothing going on it. And I've been teeming there. I'm
(14:09):
trying to get no. But Imean, are is there contact information?
I want to be able. Here'swhat I want to do. We need
to either find other victims or otherpeople who have numbers or contacts for these
people, so we can find someonewho can tell us what happened, and
then we can start trying to traceit to the owner to see if there's
fraud there. Hold on, DeputyDoc, Let's see if you have that
(14:35):
one project manager or estimator's name.Let's give it to Doc and just call
them and see what the hell youcan find out. One of the question,
Tom, this is a terrible thingpeople. I hope you're hearing money
down. No money down, Nomoney down except for extreme rare circumstances,
(14:58):
and in those cases there are tomake payment in order to help you.
What were you gonna say, Doc, has your mind done? Yeah?
Go ahead? Has the DA ordetective contact to them after they reported this
to the DA's office. I'm here, did you actually fill out a report
(15:18):
with the district attorney? You're absolutelyour first phone call. Okay, that's
what they said. All right, hold on, we'll take it one step
at a time. Then maybe Deputydoc will call to see if they ought
any complaints about it. By theway, one thing I will tell you
that we'll do absolutely no good iscomplaining to the Better Business Bureau. So
I'm glad we were a first callbecause it's Better Business Bureau. Torontosaurus rex
(15:39):
there, they're dinosaurs. They won'tdo anything. In fact, they'll probably
have a great rating. Why don'twe even look them on? Let's look
them on. Look up their ratingon the Better Business Bureau probably going to
be a triple A. No dependabilitythere. Let's talk to Greg now about
Cox Communications. What's going on,Greg? What part of the country you're
calling from. I'm gonna roar call. Do they have Cox and Aurora?
(16:03):
No? I don't think they happen. Yeah, well I talked. I
talked to them for about an hour. Yeah, and what happened was my
mom is living in lafay at Louisianain a care home. Yeah, and
so she had a cable with CoxCommunications, Okay, uh huh. So
she had a lady that was washandling her bills with power of attorney down
(16:25):
there, and that lady told methat when my mother passed away that the
power of attorney ended. Yes,that's right. So she mailed me up
a box of my mom's possessions. And then that box is a letter from
Cox Communications. And I opened itup thinking it was maybely a because I
knew that was their cable company.I thought maybe it was a bill for
(16:47):
fifty dollars or something. I mean, I'd just get a money order and
mail it to them. But itactually was a check for two hundred and
eighty five dollars and forty five cents, which I guess the only thing I
could figure because it doesn't say whatit's for in the check. The only
I can figure as it was forthe equipment that she needed to, you
know, hook up her TV.When your when your mom passed? When
did your mom pass away on Easterof this year? Easter night? And
(17:12):
was there probate was there any kindof an estate? No? Not really,
she was My mom had a smallpension from King Supers and Social Security,
and I think her total amount ofmoney a year she was making was
like maybe fourteen thousand a year. Was there any kind of bank account?
(17:33):
No, because, well because becauseher friend Jeanine had power of attorney,
and you know I would I wasmailing my mom two hundred dollars. Well,
here's what I want to know.Did Janine walk with some cash apart?
Well? They they they helped payfor my mom's funeral and I paid
(17:53):
for the rest of it. Okay, So there was what you're saying is
there was no money. No,not okay, So you're wondering what to
do with this check. Yeah,So I called Cox and talked to him
for about an hour and got andtalked to three people, and they were
nice people. But the third ladyI talked to you, you know,
I told her that I was Angelina'sson, and she said, oh,
(18:15):
we don't transfer names on checks. No, they're not going to do that.
No, of course not. It'sit's it's a it's look at here's
what happens most of the time.Let me just give you the reality.
If you received to check a monthafter your mom died and everything's closed out.
A lot of people would just signher name and deposit it. That's
what they would do, and itwould most likely clear. Now other than
(18:37):
that, Other than that, it'snot going to be worth the time or
trouble for two hundred and eighty fivebucks. Okay, Now, if you
can sign it and it gets depositedmore power, that's fine. But I
will tell you this, no one'sgoing to prosecute you from You're not stealing
anything. Would I sign my nameor her name? I look at I'm
(19:00):
I'm not going to tell you whatto do. I'm going to tell you
what people do. They would signtheir mom's name. They wouldn't because Probates
closed everything. There's no there's nothingto do. The money is rightfully hers.
A lot of people would just depositit in their account with their mom's
signature. No one is going tocheck that signature at your bank. No
one's going to care. You're gonnadeposit it. They're gonna put a hold
(19:23):
on it for a few days, then Cox is going to cash it.
Do you think Cox is going tolook and say, wait a minute,
that doesn't look like Mabel's signature.I think her son did it. And
then we're coming after her son.Why. Wow, we don't know,
but her son is trying to stealmoney. Why is the money? Does
the money belong to Mabel? Well, yeah, it's her refund. Well
then what the hell do you care? I mean, come on, right
(19:45):
now, right now, there isno crime for major stuff. You think
they're gonna come after you for this? I think you're overthinking it, man,
Let's just be honest. You're overthinking. Yeah, you got to check
deposit the damn thing. Yeah, you know, I was thinking that if
it would have been a fifty dollarsbill for her cable, you know,
(20:06):
a month of cable, I wouldhave mailed them the money ordered with my
name on it and would have gladlychecked cash. Yeah, but you wouldn't
even have to pay that debt.People don't have debt, their estates do.
But there was nothing to distribute, you said, so, really,
you know you had to contribute tothe estate to get her buried, let
alone, let alone paying her bills. You don't have to. It just
(20:29):
sounds like you're a nice guy,and you know that would have been nice
for you to pay that cable bill. But it's not your bill. Now,
had you gotten cash from your mom, it would not be inappropriate to
pull out money from that cash topay her last bills. I mean,
there was a whole process that wassupposed to be done when she died that
obviously wasn't done. You know, like you're supposed to put out a notice
to creditors and all of that crap. But listen, with an older woman
(20:53):
like that, nobody cares. Youdon't have to inherit debt, but you
can, you know, miscellaneous thingshe has, you can just take it
and dispose of it the best waypossible. Dave, what's going on with
you? Hello? Dave? Hey, Donald's going today? Good Man?
What's going on? Hey? Igot a Mozo X five twenty sixteen.
(21:17):
A couple of weeks ago. Youguys are talking about transmission fluss and change.
Yeah, we were talking about whetheryou should change, whether you should
flush. And then there's another questionI flagged that I got earlier this week.
I want to bring up a guyhad a sealed transmission. He wants
to know what to do. Solet's take your question first. What is
your question? Well, I don'thave any transmission issues. The car's running
(21:40):
fine, and I'm just wondering ifto prolong the transmission, if it's change
the fluid or flush the fluid orjust let it go. Do you definitely
want to change the fluid. It'sjust like changing your engine oil. You're
not having any problems with it,so why would you change your engine oil.
I mean that fluid is going tobreak down over time and use,
and you're going to get particular inthere you want to clean out. So
(22:00):
it's the most cost effective means youcan use of keeping that transmission on the
road as long as possible. Butis there a difference between a change and
a flush? There? Definitely is. We ask it all the time.
What's the difference and what should youdo? The places that use flushing machines,
you know, they usually interrupt aone of the coodler lines. They
basically give a dialysis change all thechange, all the fluid out? Is
(22:21):
it? What? Is it good? The biggest problem with it is unless
they're dropping the pan and changing thefilter, it is not truly getting all
that debris out of there. Everything'sgot to go through that filter before it
gets to that machine, So youget nice clean looking fluid and you're not
getting rid of the debris. Soif you couple it with a transmission service,
then yes, it's definitely good. And it depends which way they flush
(22:41):
it too, one hundred percent.Yeah, you can flush it through the
pan and take all the debris andput it right through your transmission. Yeah,
so what should he so a conventionalservice where you drop the pan and
change the filter. If you're doingthat every three years of thirty six thousand
miles, there should never be inneed for a flush. Yep. Does
that say anything? Bro? Ithink, well, I've heard that what
(23:03):
you do a flush that you alsocame run into problems where there wasn't a
problem to begin with. Yeah,is that true? By the way,
is that true? Fifties and sixtiespeople will go in, you know what,
eighty thousand miles or so to finallyget the transmission service, and well
you were at the end of thelife of the transmission, so they just
blamed it on it. It's reallya livestale. You're not going to cause
more damage. Now, if Iwas to drop a pan and I see
(23:25):
that there's a lot of debris insideyour pan, I'm probably going to refuse
to service it. Because when thoseproblems appear you're likely going to blame them
on me. Okay, So Iwould be looking at a flush is the
better way to go, then aservice? A service, there's no need.
So you want to go to areputable transmission shop and get a service
(23:45):
done? Okay? Yeah, andand keep it service. Now when we
come back, we'll take, ofcourse your calls whatever you have. Three
oh three seven one three talks sevenone three eight two five five. We'll
also talk about so called sealed transmissionsor lifetime transmissions. Hi, Tom Martino
(24:14):
here, Welcome to the show.Is Marky Marcon. Yeah, okay,
Marky, Mark listen. Did youknow I love talking to him about this
stuff. Did you know that KamalaHarris was never the borders are Well technically
that's correct, but she was incharge of the border, you know she
(24:38):
is. She was not just voted, but rated more liberal than Bernie Sanders
if you can believe that she was. She was one of the biggest proponents
of defunding police. Yeah, shewas the big right, Mark, the
most liberal senator in the in theSenate, Yeah, the most which was
(25:00):
right next to Bernie there. Imean, it's really remarkable. Well,
no, it's not. I meanthat they're a bunch of lefties. I
mean they want to see a globalistsociety. Well she's proud of it too.
Anyway, I want to talk toLynn and Daniel. They hired Kona
contractors. They spent twenty grand andgot nothing. They disappeared and we looked
(25:25):
into this a little. They dissolved. Was it yesterday or today? It
was yesterday officially yesterday. Now,when you dissolve in LLC, you have
to you cannot have outstanding bills orissues. You can't. Okay, so
well, they don't stop you fromdissolving, but it's improper and that means
(25:49):
you no longer have the protection ofan LLC. Now that's really important Lynn
and Daniel, and I'm going totell you why because the fact that they
dissolved it and did not disclose themoney they owed or bond or anything like
that that can extend personal liability tothe owner. And we have two names
(26:14):
listened here. We have a registeredagent listed as Jason Sakri. Have you
ever heard that name? Lynn?I'm sorry, have you ever heard that
name? I did, just cameacross it on their website. But did
you ever meet anyone named Lynn?I named Jason, Okay, what about
(26:38):
Ryan Treadwell. No, I don'tknow Ryan travel all. We don't have
another name. He's listed as theowner on the BBB site, and by
the way, as predicted, theBetter Business Bureau has them as an A
plus accredited business. But that shouldn'tsurprise you. There are people in prison
for fraud that have A plus ratings. So here's the deal. I think
(27:04):
that we need to find this ownersomewhere, and I'm not sure who we
get to do that. We needto trace this guy. You know,
people, it's amazing how little informationthey get about companies before they hand over
all this money. We can domore research online and stuff, but unless
(27:26):
we hear from someone who has someinformation on this Jason Sachar Now, Jason
Sacgary could be nobody. He couldjust be a registered agent, an attorney,
or somebody. Ryan Treadwell is listedas the owner. We don't know
if he's the one that sold it. You said it was sold recently.
It would be really helpful. Didyou locate a number for anyone that used
(27:51):
to work with the company that wecan call? Okay, good? Did
you give that to Deputy doc yetnot yet? Nobody asked us. All
right, Doc is gonna call you. Hold on and we'll get that number
of that salesperson. Maybe we canget that salesperson on during the show.
Uh kachina. If Doc can getthe number, and let's see what he
(28:14):
has to say about it. Threeoh three seven one three A two five.
Hey, I'm Tom Martino, yourtroubleshooter. Today's car day. By
the way, if you do haveany car questions, I have a ton
of them. I save up.It's just amazing to me how many I
get off car questions, probably oneof the most common questions I get.
(28:36):
Also, you can reach us atthree oh three Martino twenty four seven three
oh three six two seven eight foursixty six. So we're going to try
to get a hold of one ofthese employees that work for ConA Contractors.
We're also going to talk to peoplewho've been victimized. If there are any,
please give us a call. ConAContractors. That's k O n A.
(28:59):
They're in Centennial, also listed asHighland's Ranch. They do decks and
backyards and what do they say, patios and stuff like that, and anyway
on Facebook, we can't seem tofind any information about the owner but as
I said, when we put theword out, we usually do find information.
(29:26):
That's what this show's about. That'swhy they were told to call us,
because we usually do find information. All right. So one of the
things I was discussing also the factthat Southwest Airlines is abandoning their open seating
and boarding sections. They're going togo with assigned seating. And they said
(29:48):
it was based on a survey sayingthat most travelers want assigned seats. And
for my texts, I can seeit. People are saying. Now there
might be others, but and Ihaven't surveyed my YouTube morons, but basically
in in my texting, people aresaying, I that's the one thing I
(30:15):
did not like about Southwest. Ialways felt like, you know, if
I was we never knew if wewere going to get a seat together,
we with traveling families. It's terrible, and most people are saying they want
it, they absolutely want it,So assigned seating. Now, they didn't
(30:37):
give a date on when that's goingto happen, but twenty twenty five,
oh is that what they said?Okay, the end of this year,
all right, thank you. Whatabout sealed transmissions? Guys? Are they
really sealed to begin with. Whenthey say sealed, are they sealed or
they say sealed because there's no painto drop to get to the filter.
The filter's internal necessarily no, sothey've it's sealed because they've they've removed access
(31:03):
for you, the owner to beable to actually do things like check and
add fluid. So you have toget underneath it, and there'll be someplace
where normally would have been a filltube, or there'll be an actual you
know, multi put it in fromthe side exactly. But you can service
the so called yes, now youshould. He is accurate in the sense
that someone is there are some transmissionsyou cannot access the filter hand has been
(31:27):
notorious about that for generations. Sowhat do you do? You just leave
it fluid in it. Sometimes theyhave also, you know, like a
toilet paper like looking filter that goesin line with the cooler, but the
main filter itself is not accessible untilyou've got it apart. Now, can
you add a cooler a cool nota coup filter. Yeah, you could
add one in line one hundred percentdoing them from since the sixties, but
(31:48):
typically you know, when you addthose on, it's usually after overhaul where
you've had so much contaminant that youwant to clean that stuff out that didn't
get maybe cleaned out during a flush. You have the customer return in about
two weeks and take it off becausethey bypass. Okay, So in any
case, the bottom line is youdon't believe in lifetime fluids. No.
No, When you're transmission crashes, you just found out the lifetime of that
(32:09):
fluid exactly. It's the lifetime ofthe transmission which is limited by not changing
the fluid. It's ridiculous. They'redoing it just so they can have that
slogan. Well, you know, lifetime. People don't inherently don't want to
spend money on preventedive maintenance. Imean, you'd rather go out and buy
you a new PS five or aSony flat screen TV. I think that's
(32:34):
one of the allures of the EVS. I'm not saying there's no maintenance,
but there's hardly any maintenance. Ohmy god, they're unbelievable. They are
unbelievable. Those motors are sealed. You you don't service those motors. Yeah,
you know, you're starting to seeit inside the engine world too,
where there's no dipsticks. It's allregistered off the computer. That's crazy.
Well that's crazy, but then again, all of this is changing. We
(32:58):
got more coming up its card. You can talk about cars, you can
talk about anything you want. Threeoh three seven one three A two five
five Yeah, rip news. Youneed advice so you don't have the come
running just as fast as we canshow. Shooter's gonna help. Come man,
(33:24):
This is the Troubleshooter Show. NoTom Martine, Hi Tom Martino here,
Welcome to the show. We aresolving problems, answering questions and taking
complaints and making your life just alittle easier. And we have a car
day today. We have our carexperts. Kevin Callkin shared an auto tech
(33:45):
Jeff Vick kimmera transmission, Major MarkMajor Marky Mark on his remote, and
we are they're back from the road, by the way, a long road
trip in an RV fun fun fun. I used to love that stuff,
man, And anyway, except forthe roads that can be a pain in
the ass, right and Mark saidthat the Colorado roads are marketably Mark remarkably,
(34:08):
I seventy is I seventy from GrandJunction to Denver. Man, there's
potholes you can put a basketball in. But when you're towing something, the
problem is your load shifts. Sowe drove over every you know, we
drove everywhere Man Montana, Wyoming,California, Oregon, Nevada. The only
place I had to tie our load, which was our car down multiple times
(34:31):
was I seventy every single time onI seven Road. I seventy in general
or in Colorado, No, justin Colorado. In fact, it's crazy.
Soon as you come in from Utah, it's like instant you go from
a decent road to completely like somethingthat was napalm in Vietnam. It's nuts.
Now, that is kind of like, think about this, that's kind
(34:53):
of like crazy. Are we gonnablame what the list for that? Or
what I thought we had? Ithought, didn't they sign some huge build
it? You know, we're payingextra for groceries and everything else. They
will. But in exchange, wewere supposed to get new road highway.
(35:13):
That's not a state highway. Iseventy, right, that's an interstate.
I don't understand how that works becauseI thought it was being an interstate that
the federal government. Is there aFederal Highway Department or how do they or
do they give funds to the statefor it. However, I got to
figure out how that works. I'mnot really up on exactly how that works.
(35:37):
Sean has a question about a dieseltruck and then coming up Doc wants
to talk about this. He talkedto one of the ex employees of this
Kona contractors. Will figure out whatthe lowdown on that is. Sean,
your diesel truck, what do yougot? What do you need? So
I'm in the market for a newdiesel pickup looking at the Ford's one ton.
(36:02):
The prices were out of site recently, and I guess I've noticed them
coming down a little bit. Iwas mostly curious from the professionals or whatnot
about the new diesel pickups, maybetheir predictions on where prices are going.
I've read a couple of articles thatthey're coming down at the end of the
(36:23):
year. Just curious from the experts. I'd also like to know what Ford
model were you looking at? Didyou say the three fifty? Is that
the only diesel? The one threefifty? Oh it's a one ton,
that's a one ton, that's right, okay, three quarter okay, So
(36:45):
anyway, what do you guys thinkour price is coming down? Have you
heard anything and what do you thinkabout the Ford, and what do you
think about the one he's looking atthe F three fifty. Yeah, I
like the Ford setup, but pricewise, who knows. I mean,
the prices have been high for solong. It's hard to tell. They
can only them down, you know, because are they topping at it around
one hundred grand when you you loadthem up real close? Colley? Really?
(37:08):
Okay? What about the Ford asopposed to Chevy or Dodge or does
tunder make a diesel? No,Toyota doesn't, right, But I mean
it's just, you know, speakingfrom the transmission world, you know,
with the the Alison behind the Duramax, we see them on a much more
rare basis than we do the Chevyor the Dodge. So the Duramax,
(37:31):
you said, with Chevy Duramax, with the Allison with Alison transmission, you
like? You like that combo well, with the exception of the fact that
doesn't help my pocketbook, yes, okay. Whereas what what's the Chevy combination?
It's the Durmax diesel with the AlisonChevy. The Chevy that's the one
you see less of it. Isee a fewer of those than I do
(37:52):
or Ford combo with the Ford?Is that a diesel? No, I
think they're made by and I'm notsure who's making them right now. Actually
yeah so, but who's the tranningon that. There's a couple of different
combinations you can get in there. You know, the six R one forty
we don't see near as much aswe do some of the other units today.
What about Dodges, what do theyhave? They'll have either the AS
(38:15):
sixty nine or they have the sixtyeight RFE. We definitely see more of
the sixty eight RFE. But ingeneral, do you see more Dodges or
more Fords? Fords? So Fordswould be probably from your perspective, the
most maintenance as far as the transmissionitself is concerned. And I'm only talking
about the transmission, then yes,If I was going to pick between those
(38:37):
three, Chevy then Dodge than Ford, Chevy then Dodge than Ford. What
would you do as far as theengine? keV if you have the Dermax
we never see really. Yeah,we were very very rarely even for leaks
and just basic maintenance. So it'sa much better place, guys. Is
it paid to look for a oneor two year old model and save a
lot of money. The trucks theylast a long time, right, Yeah,
(39:00):
in this market, we're all sayingthe way they would from what you
guys are saying, the Chevy makesthe better diesel. Sean, are you
listening? I am, I appreciateit. Yeah, these guys are talking
about maintenance. Man, that's themost telling to me, that's the most
telling thing. ANDLS Dermax diesels arepretty good looking trucks too. Now as
(39:22):
far as pricing goes, the reasonthey're talking about pricing coming down a bit
is possibly due to a slack anddemand because of the environmental pressures and the
electric introductions. Do they have anydecent electric trucks right now? Evs who's
(39:46):
making a decent that could even standup to a Dermax? Could stand up
to a Dermax? Nobody? Whatis good about the dirt? You'd have
no towing power? Is that thetorque is that does not have towing power?
No, you're gonna have towing powerbecause you've got torque right off the
bat. No, but it's onlygoing to last like ten minutes by the
(40:06):
way. Capacity. Yeah, that'sa good point. Mark you're saying that
our guy from a garage if youchange for Actually, I keep screwing it
up. But he bought a brandnew Ford lightning truck. He couldn't even
tow for thirty miles his equipment truck. Yeah, an article done on that
right after they so the towing capacityor the endurance goes way down. Yeah.
(40:30):
If you just drive around empty, you're fine. If you tow a
heavy trailer, you're done. Yeah, I'm not kidding. He got thirty
miles towing like a little U haul. You know what's going to happen as
we make a transition if we do, I think you're going to see electric
assist trailers. Think about that.I mean, really you could do that.
You hook it up and you wouldhave a motor assist maybe trailer to
(40:53):
help, or or they have batterieson them unto themselves, or would that
be stupid? I mean, I'mjust thinking about a trailer pushing that truck,
especially on a not pushing, butan assist like an e bike.
If you have like where you youcan have some assist from let's say a
self contained trailer that doesn't freewheel, but it has a motor and it has
(41:16):
a battery pack. I mean andit's a it's an EV trailer. I
mean, we're going to have todo something because with the way the country's
going. And I'm not saying it'sa good idea or a bad idea,
but man, they're pushing EV's likeit's the coming of Christ EV's. I
mean, are they really going tonot now? Of course, Trump says
(41:39):
day one, droll, dro drill, and you know, but but where
do we go? Are we eventuallygoing to be all electric? Are we?
This is going to be a flashin the pan? I mean there's
way still electric will be a flashin the pan like the Internet. They
will, they'll definitely have their placeon the road. But you know,
I think hydrogen is going to bethe next place that everything's going. Uh
(42:01):
so you think there will be alternatives, but it won't be electric necessarily.
Correct? What do you think? What do you think? Mark? I
think electric is going to be aroundfor a long time and it's gonna get
better and better. We're gonna seebetter batteries. But it doesn't matter when
he says, drill, drill, drill. You have to because we need
(42:21):
the power plants. Man, tohave all the electricity, you've got to
drill. You gotta have big semitrucks. You gotta have You're thinking too
logically. But if you look atthe environmental impact of all of this,
I mean, didn't didn't Pete butit what is it? Booted jes or
whatever? Didn't it wasn't he showingoff an electric car and drove it from
like Washington to Pennsylvania somewhere, andhe couldn't find any charging stations. Hey,
(42:47):
guys, what do you think aboutnuclear I think that's a nuclear car,
No, George Jutson. Except forthe power plants burning fossil fuel.
No, No, I mean nuclear, you know, for absolutely, positively
sure nuclear power. Those power plantsare the answer. I know people say
(43:10):
it's not, but I mean, you're talking about waste so small compared to
the environmental impact of fossil fuels. The waste from nuclear power is practically non
existent. Now it's dangerous waste andyou have to get rid of it somehow.
But it's well, what about thattheory one time they were going to
(43:30):
send them on rockets to space towardsthe sun? Was that? I think
I brought that up at some point. You said that that they never proposed
that that was never proposed. Anyway, I'm starting to sound like Trump now
as far as my expertise. I'mjust kidding. Uh So, Tom,
(43:51):
what are you talking about? Tom? Hey? Tom, Tom, it's
good. It's good to talk toyou again. I just wanted to give
you a little little bit of anupdate. You and Mark and the rest
of the team had been helping meout with my situation with mari Trans Express
when they didn't pay me from serviceswork back in early last year. Was
(44:14):
that are you a Are you atrucker? Tom? You know I was
delivering mail with amer Trans Okay, okay, sorry, I'm looking for this
of Marriagans. Okay, keep going. What happened? You're you're a contractor
for the post Office? Right that? That is correct? With the advice
that you had given me and andall that stuff. I finally received a
(44:38):
check from the United States Department ofLabor for the hours that I was missing.
Very good from that's really good tohear. So you got paid.
I went to the labor board.Did you go to the labor board?
Finally too. I had first gonethrough Colorado Department of Labor Hours and Wages,
(45:01):
and then when it other people fromAmericrans were not paid. It was
the United States Department of Labor actuallytook the lead on it, and it
took a while. It drove mypatience up the wall, but finally I
got paid. That's really cool,Thank you very much. Hey, let's
(45:21):
give him a dinger. Yes,Hi, Tom Martinez here, Welcome to
the show three oh three seven onthree Talk seven one three eight five five.
So Doug has a question on emissions. Hello Doug, I'm Tom.
(45:43):
You're on with the experts and majorMark Major. What's going on? I
have a neighbor that doesn't speak anyEnglish, and she's got an emission situation
with a FOURD escape older four escapeand she needs to get that result.
Now, what kind of an emissionsissue is she having? It doesn't pass
(46:06):
a light or what visible smoke? What's the what's the problem? No,
doesn't pass. She needs she's tryingto get registered, trying to get it.
And do you know what year isit? At? At least five
years old? I don't have anexact here. I'm sorry, do you
know why it's not passing? Wasshe given a sheet? I do not.
(46:28):
Don't they tell you why? Yeah, you'll get get numbers on there
for what she failed on. Sheshould take that sheet into you know,
a good mechanic and have them lookit over and they can make suggestions on
this. I want to ask youguys on emissions because this is a mystery
to me if something doesn't pass andare they always fixable things? Is what
I'm asking. Oh, yeah, with enough money, you can fix anything.
(46:51):
No, that's I mean, butwhat would be the most common problems
for not passing that are not major? The most common gas caps? What
else? Dirty engine oil? Yeah, dirty air filter be the most common
major problem an ASCAP league guys. No, I know that they just said
that, but the most Now we'retalking about the most common major problem.
(47:15):
What would that be? Well,if you get too much smoke and different
things, either a cat or anengine. I mean, so you could
have a so a bad engine couldjust be a bad engine, blow by,
too much blow by and all that. So therefore you would have to
get a rebuilt engine. That wouldbe worst case scenario. Yes, but
are you allowed to spend it?I thought there used to be able to
spend a certain amount and then getit in there SEC. It's like twelve
(47:36):
hundred dollars or something like that andthen yeah, you have to set up
a meeting with one of the guys. But you can get a waiver.
You can get a waiver. It'llbe good for two years, and then
likely they will give recommendations or demandsbefore you'll be able to pass again because
you won't get a second one.You won't. No, but you can
get one waiver, but you haveto spend at least twelve hundred trying to
knock it out. But not formissing equipment. If your cat's missing,
(47:59):
you have to replace it. We'retalking about a waiver. Let's say somebody
can't afford to get the engine rebuild. Sure, so they pay twelve hundred
to get Are they still required todo the twelve hundred to attempt to make
it better? It depends on whatyour readings came out, as I mean,
if they're too far off, thenyou're not getting that waiver. So
and get into what he was saidabout. No, if they're too far
(48:20):
off, they'll they'll kick it offthe road, really they will. So,
Yeah, if it's something, youdon't get a waiver. If it's
too serious, you won't get thatwaiver. It's not automatic, okay,
So and then he mentioned. Whatis it like a one guy decides that
to go to the State Tech Centerand they review everything. Yeah, they
look at the car like we haveto set up a meeting with an individual
for a particular time and they lookthe car. How many cars does that
(48:40):
actually happen to you? Though?I know one guy that recently just had
to go through this, and youknow, he mentioned the cats a minute
ago. And we've talked about thisin the past, whether or not they'll
kick you off the road for noncomplainant to take that car and sell it
in another state or another emissions area. Oh yea percent. But it was
noted that he did not have Coloradocompliant cats on his Do people care?
(49:00):
Yep? They told him at theemissions So where did you find out?
Now, Mark? Mark and Iwere talking about this one time was after
he did not pass and he hadto set up a meeting for the waiver.
So when he inspected it, hefound that they were not Colorado compliant
cats, and that whether he passedagain next when he came up in the
two years, whether he could passor not, they had to be compliant
normally. Normally, if you replaceda cat from another state cheaper. They
(49:24):
don't even look okay, it's onlyonly if you fail they look ye,
okay, Doug. Do you haveany other questions? Yeah, I'm still
I need a Spanish speaking mechanic thatyou can recommend. Okay, her English
is pretty bad. Do they proAuto Care have Spanish speaking mechanic? I
(49:44):
guarantee they do. What part oftones are you? Where are you?
I'm familiar with Prood? How aboutthe guy we were doing? Yeah,
you're really close, bro, You'rereally close to pro Ato Care. No,
no, hold on, who's theguy you were doing spots our case?
Whatever? Those guys are all?Wait, I haven't noticed his commercials
in a while. Whatever happened tohim. They're not on the referral list
(50:07):
anymore. I don't know. Askedthe sales guy hire them? But it
doesn't matter. They were good guys. I thought I thought Liz had him
RKC. But we Oh, maybeshe did, but we could never get
him in because he couldn't speak English. Okay, yeah, RKC. They're
good people, by the way,RKC Automotive. But there's no website.
I know. They're really very hardto advertise for. Do you know what
(50:30):
part of town there. Yeah, yeah, they're yes, I do.
They're on Evans. Hold on,I have them in my my commercials I
was doing for them. They nowI realize they stopped advertising. Okay,
it's twenty one to twenty west Evans. I'll give you the number. It's
just west of tayhone. People.People that did go to him, that
(50:50):
I heard from, they loved him. Here's here's the number. Seven to
zero yep, seven four nine thirtynine six. The only criticisms I got.
He doesn't have a lot of technologyand stuff. It's an old school
shop. Okay, but I meanI'm not saying that. And he's got
no website, he's got no Facebookpage. He's got he's impossible to find.
(51:15):
Yeah. Yeah, wouldn't emissions indicatesome degree of Well, no,
he'll know how to fix it.He'll know how to fix it. I
mean he does a lot of that. By the way, just so you
know he does a lot of that. Yeah. I've been a customer at
Prouto and you say they do haveSpanish speakers. They did when I al
(51:37):
the owner speaks Spanish. But Alhuretired, isn't he? His son took
over? Yeah, and I believe. I mean they grew up in that
how same with his daughter. Ibet that I just call over there and
find out and if not, Ifnot, then RKC for sure. And
it's really it's really common for peopleto come in with language barriers. I
mean, Google Translate is a greatthing. No, I use Google Translate
(51:57):
all the time for my Venezuelan friends. That's what I use in my service.
Writer's bi lingual too. We haveto be yeah, and it is
amazing the uh Google Translate, itis amazing. Now. I don't know
if they've come up with this yet, but since Google can listen and regurgitate,
why don't they make a headset ordo they? I mean, why
wouldn't they that you can listen. It's then it's like on Star Trek,
(52:21):
you know, with the tri quoder. I'm we're getting a universal translator,
but you should be able with itbecause Google Translate. The only problem.
You've got to hit the mic, then they talk, then you turn off
the mic and hit translate, andthen you've got to hit the speaker and
then it speaks to you. ButI'm sure you could just put all that
technology in a headset that's listening topeople and then and then a second or
(52:45):
two it's it's it's it may bea little lag, but it's interpreting as
you go. Well, they havethat at the un No, they don't.
They have live interpreters. Yeah,I'm saying, yeah, but I
can't carry around a person with me. No, but I'm saying AI should
be able to do that. Yeah. Yeah, but but I'm telling you
(53:05):
that's the one barrier. It's uh, it's called time Kettle, Tom,
and they make a bunch of productsthey do exactly Wait a minute, wait
a minute. They do have thatmark where you can put it on your
head and listen. Yeah, justgoogle time Kettle. Okay, cool,
we got more coming right up.Hi, Tom Martino your troubleshooter three oh
(53:29):
three seven one three talk seven onethree eight two five five Chuck, what's
going on with you? Chuck?Yeah? So, my you know,
I have I have a parent who'skind of susceptible the scams and stuff,
and they're asking me about this ElonMusk Pro Power Saver that's supposed like stabilizes
(53:51):
yeah, and musk, And it'snot a musk device. They they are
advertising it that way, and it'snot his Is it a scam? The
device that's what? Yeah, Igot some for Christmas when I was talking
about him, and I plugged themin, and I think my bill changed
by about five cents. That mighthave just been somebody didn't turn on a
(54:12):
light that day. Yeah, theelectricity. That is that a thing?
The pro power saver by the way, he I thought he disavowed it.
They use his name all over theplace, and I don't understand why why
do they use his name? Butthey claim by just plugging this damn thing
in, it's going to save electricity. It can't. It's impossible to work
(54:35):
that. The technology is not evenpossible. Supposedly what they say is it
somehow controls your power? Right? But why does Musk? I wonder why
Musk? They probably just bought Theyprobably just bought his keyword the names from
Google. Well even on Amazon,No, go to it, you won't
(54:58):
see his name attached on it.Amazon. Oh, it's in the search.
It says pro boer Saver by ElonMusk in the search. It fills
it in for you. But doesit do anything? But not on the
product? You're right, Mark,it's not on the product. What's that
sir? It makes claims like surgeprotection, dirty electricity is prevented from coming
(55:21):
what is that? But it doesn'teven. What's amazing is it doesn't even
go on to your main panel.Just plug them in. Can't work.
It just can't. I mean,I've always wondered why can products do this?
Why? I think listen, I'vesaid it before. It might as
(55:43):
well be a for breeze or anair freshener, right, And it's it's
like the Rocky Mountain radar. Thatone the guy used to say he jams
radar. Hey that works. Soyeah. Right. So here's the thing.
And I've said this before, I'llsay it again. The only one
that would be pros acuted for sellingthese is Donald Trump. I mean other
than that, it's other than that, it's a free crime. I mean
(56:07):
really it's it's it's a crime.And I just can't see Amazon. The
reason Amazon is selling them or allowsthem is because it's a one satisfaction guarantee.
Well it's just a third party thing. It's a big deal, you
know. And what's amazing is youdon't even plug stuff into it. You
(56:27):
just plug it in and it passivelyconditions your power. It is impossible.
It is amazing how many there are. And then most that'll happen. We'll
get a they'll get a seasoned desistorder and that'll be the end of it.
Oh no, like that Canadian carburetorthat gets nine thousand miles a gallon.
Okay, I can't believe how manypeople have made positive reviews on this.
(56:53):
You can't trust reviews. Man.What is dirty electricity? Well,
first of all, dirty electricity therethere means the modulation. Okay, there's
two good. There's a lot ofspikes and valleys, so it means it's
not delivering within a certain wavelength. It's so they call it dirty, does
(57:13):
it It can? It can?By the way, dirty electricity or spikes
and valleys can hurt electric motors andcan hurt electrical things. Most electronic panels
have our most electronic circuitry has asuppression built in so it's not going to
hurt them, and they and theyconvert them to d C. Once something
(57:36):
is converted to d C, dirtypower is not even an issue anymore.
And a lot of circuitry has theyhave inverters, so they're they're really they're
not running on AC power. They'rerunning on DC although it's plugged into a
wall. But as far as motorsand stuff, yeah, you can be
affected by by power from the powergrid. You can be, but it's
(58:00):
not that but most of them cansustain enough that they go for a very
long time. Now, there areways that I am all for conditioning your
power, but you're not going todo it with these twenty dollars units that
you plug in your wall. It'sjust it is impossible if you plug it
in your wall that a dishwasher's motoris going to be conditioned. It's not
(58:23):
going to happen. But they domake surge protection and conditioners that master or
certified electricians put on your panel. There's nothing wrong with those, nothing at
all wrong with those. They don'tsave you money, but they do extend
the life of electrical things they do, whether that life not at the panel,
(58:46):
ys, it's not at the panel. What's that, it's on the
panel, that's right. The realones are on the panel, and they
cost about fourteen hundred on up.Oh yeah, there's a company called na
that makes them for like hospitals. So and we're not even talking about continuous
(59:07):
power like batteries. What we're talkingabout is just conditioning and and surge protection.
If you want continuous power, willa battery? Uh, then you
then you're talking about it's really aUPS for a house. And they do
make them, but man are theyexpensive. So well, this thing is
bogus. This thing totally bogus, totally bogus, totally one hundred bogus.
(59:32):
I don't understand why the government allowsit to go on the Federal Trade Commission
should be again unless unless Trump ownedit, It's not going to be prosecuted.
And I mean that I'm not kidding. I mean these targets or if
I started it, I'll guarantee youI'd be I'd be arrested for it for
(59:53):
some reason. I mean, thereare just people that can get away with
stuff because maybe they figure I don'tknow nobody, guys. I had a
quick car question. Come in whenyou get a sec all right, we're
gonna take a break, and thenI'm going to have also Deputy Doc tell
us about the employee he talked tofrom that company, ConA Contractors eight eight
(01:00:15):
eight Heating dot Com. You callthem if you need any help with your
air conditioner or your furnace, orplumbing or electric they're great people, honest
people. Three ozho three seven sevenzero two seven seven six free second opinions
eight eight eight heating dot coms.Let's let's talk about things near and dear
to your heart and pocketbook. AndDeputy Doc did contact those people, by
(01:00:39):
the way, and we're going tohave an update on that. Mark.
What car questions did you have?Did you say you had one? Yeah,
hold on, he just emailed itto him. He two thousand and
seventeen. I think it was aToyota, but let me find it twenty
seventeen, Toyota Tacoma. I havetwo. I have a two thousand seventeen
(01:01:00):
to Comba V six. It onlyhas seven thousand miles, but it's seven
years old. Do I need tochange the anti freeze and the transmission fluid
still? Yes? Absolutely, yeah, they break down over time and everything
else. So just exposure, yes, not miles. They get a cidic.
You know, the pH gets off, they starts. It's kind of
(01:01:21):
like the you know, the anodesin in a water heater. You know,
it starts changing the chemistry in there. So just sitting does that?
Yes, yeah, so I woulddefinitely change it. And on that note,
you shouldn't let things just sit. That's the worst thing for him.
Even if you start a car uponce a week, drive it a mile
and park it, let it warmup to temperature, let it cool down,
(01:01:43):
it's best for it. I guessthe only thing that doesn't apply to
now are EV's right. I mean, I mean, think true, think
about how much different that is theEVS. I'm wondering why they didn't make
an emphasis on electric cars years ago. I mean, there's no the battery
power for one, and then it'sright, the battery technology, that's right.
(01:02:06):
But well, hold on though, did the battery technology come as a
result of the desire or did thedesire was I mean, you know what
I'm getting at is this new moveto ed battery backups have been around forever,
so they've been working on battery technologyfor you know, for hospitals and
home computers and everything forever. Now, like Jeff mentioned, possibly hydrogen and
(01:02:30):
other sources, are there any realviable alternate sources other than I think the
battery technology, like I said, because electric has been around for a long
long time in construction, you know, in mining and stuff underground, they
have major equipment. It's electric bythe way also coming up in this show.
I have a note here. Idid some research on sun block for
(01:02:55):
different reasons, because there there wassome controversy about sun block, people who
use it too much not getting enoughvitamin D, and I started researching the
vitamin D part of it. Andthat's not what this is about. But
I did find out some shocking stuffabout sunblock, and I wonder why.
This is another area. I wonderwhy they're on the market. This is
another area where sunblock is allowed tohave literally dangerous stuff in it, I
(01:03:22):
mean just allowed. The FDA isa funny animal. It really heavily regulates
certain things and other things that letslide sunblock. The what the FDA and
what our twisted American view is isif you stop sunlight, or you know,
you stop the skin cancer, itfar out weighs those benefits far outweigh
(01:03:47):
the negative of the other ingredients. Now again that's what you had with everything
the FDA proves. I mean,if you really look at the at the
benefit versus the disadvantages. That's whythere was a big controversy with COVID,
you know, like did the vaccineoutweigh did the benefits outweigh the risks.
(01:04:10):
But when it comes to sun block, there are now people saying you shouldn't
even use it. It's some ofit's so trash and a lot of the
blocks don't even have block in it. That not the stuff that really blocks,
but one ingredient that you should avoidat all costs. And by the
way, all major health or dermatologistsbelieve this. You should avoid vitamin A
(01:04:34):
in sunblock. Why would you think, I wondered why? So I started
researching. Why would you avoid vitaminA? Vitamin A? Certain forms of
vitamin A. I certain Shay. There's something called retlin pulmonate palmitate. Okay,
(01:04:55):
you heard of that. Okay. This actually, when exposed to sunlight,
breaks down by UV radiation and itturns into or it produces free radicals
that actually damage DNA and promote skincancer. This is in a sun block
(01:05:15):
that is supposed to avoid. Butthe benefit of vitamin A. People heard
vitamin A is good for your skin, Vitamin E is good for your skin.
So they put it in a sunblockwithout any research or anything, and
now leading help it's you'll still findvitamin A in your sunblock. My message
to you today, avoid vitamin Ain a sunblock at all costs. Avoid
(01:05:40):
it. Now, one other thingyou should avoid. They're actually putting insect
repellance in sunblock. Now that's okay. If you want an insect repellent you're
out at the campfire. But ifyou're on the beach, you may not
need it. If you're just ifyou're just putting something on your kids nose,
you certainly don't need insect repellent. So insect repellent comes in all forms.
(01:06:06):
Also, vitamin A avoid in yoursunblock. Now there's something else to
avoid. Will go over oxy benzone? Oxy benzone that coming up and
more? Yeah, ripped up,bad news. You need advice? Who
(01:06:30):
you don't have the come running justsustass as we can show. Shooter's gonna
help coming Man Dix is the TroubleshooterShow. No Tom Martino, Hi,
Tom Martino here, Welcome to theshow. Three oh three seven one three
(01:06:53):
talks seven one three eight two fivefive. What's on your mind today?
How can we help you? Weare taking calls on any and all items.
Of course, today is car Day. We're talking a little bit about
cars. And then Deputy Doc,we have a follow up from you,
So I want to just lay thisout. First, Lynn and Daniel called
and said, I'm replacing I wasreplacing a deck and hired ConA Construction or
(01:07:15):
ConA Contractors out of Centennial. They'realso listed as being out of Highlands Ranch.
I paid them twenty grand up front, got absolutely nothing, nothing,
and they're ghosting me. And thenthey disappeared. And then we found out
that they dissolved yesterday at the Secretaryof State. Jason Sacre is listed as
(01:07:40):
the registered agent. Ryan Treadwell islisted as the owner. They have an
A plus rating and accredited by theBetter Business Bureau even though they ripped off
tons of people and are out ofbusiness. And of course that shitdn't surprise
you about the dinosaur BBB. Oh, let's talk about this one guy that
(01:08:01):
worked for them. I kind oftold these people they are out of luck.
What did you find out from thisverse? I spoke to Luke who
used to work for them and quit. He's owed a bunch of money.
He said that. Uh. Firstof all, Brian Treadwell sold the company
(01:08:23):
to Jason Lackery in March of twentytwenty three. Okay, so that's why
it's Sachar right, Zachary, correct, okay, And Jason said he knows
of a bunch of customers that arein the same situation as Daniel was.
So he says that basically Treadwell isa good guy. Well, you know,
(01:08:47):
he didn't say anything about Treadell, just said he sold the company.
Okay, that's all he said.So he said he knows of one person
that was defrauded out of forty seventhousand dollars. So he's going to compile
a list. Oh good, thecustomers that was screwed by, and then
then we need back to me andthen we'll try and follow up. So
(01:09:09):
he's very he's very helpful because Itold him we may be able to get
his salary money back. Also, yeah, well, we're going to go
to the authorities on this. Isee we can nail this guy now.
Again, so he said Treadwell sold. So was he kind of indicating that's
when the problem started or why didyou ask him? I was, I
was more concerned with getting a listof customers, which he's going to do.
(01:09:32):
And when did he say he soldthe company? In March of twenty
twenty three? Okay, Well, that seems to me when the problem started
last year, so maybe that's whatchanged. Who knows, or maybe Treadwell
did it on purpose. We'll digfurther this the more I told Tokay sold
the company to Sacher. Okay,I'm making notes here and then we'll see
(01:09:57):
what we can find out. Meanwhile, have you been victimized by ConA contractors?
Let us know? Three oh threeseven one three talks seven one three
eight two five five. I wonderif Jason Sachri is on Facebook. We
ought to try that too, Bill, what's going on with you? Bill?
(01:10:18):
Welcome? Hi. My wife hasa small business and a web page
for her small business, and acouple of days ago she received an email
from supposedly from the Americans with DisabilityActs saying their way web page wasn't compliant.
Somebody had complained. That's right, they said. They said it wasn't
(01:10:41):
compliant to UH for for Americans withDisabilities, right, they said it The
customer expressed this as sex and withthe lack of entertainment value, and then
they would be aware of it's notjust accessibility, it's it's also functionality and
engaging. So so what they saidthe letter they sent at the bottom of
(01:11:06):
it highlighted in large bold letters andhighlighted in yellow. It says that if
this turns into a lawsuits, youcould little suit to be anywhere from you
could lose anywhere from twenty five twohundred thousand dollars and typically for smaller businesses
it's ten thousand dollars. What dothey want? Yeah, that's what I
(01:11:29):
was looking for, and they wantto settle that right now. They want
you to reply. They want youto reply. That's all they want right
now. That's there you go.They say you have a timeline of twenty
four Why do they want you toreply? Mark? Because then they know
someone say on that email actually gettingit. Then they're going to try to
shake you down for X amount ofmoney. Don't reply many of these?
(01:11:51):
How many of these compliance? Well? What are they calling the let me
ask you, what are they callingthe lawsuit? What law did they cite?
Uh, it's just as Ada websitelawsuit settlement? And then and then
they don't they don't directly say andthen and then. The one thing I
(01:12:14):
noticed is that the grammar, thelanguage that they use at the end is
very poor. They make some veryobvious ra medical errors. Yes, man,
we had a client one time whogot so afraid she paid and she
was converting her website to be compliant. It was moronic and the cost was
(01:12:41):
outrageous that you have to get itto get it to get into compliance.
Right, So it was just itwas shakedown or from the lawsuit that they
were just moronic, just handing overmoney like that, right, Okay,
so I would say this does somebody. Has anyone actually been sued for having
(01:13:01):
a non compliant website because most ofthem are non compliant. First of all,
what is compliant? What is compliant? Most of the browsers are the
ones that make them compliant, notthe website itself. It's just a new
way to shake people down, youknow. Now, the ones that go
(01:13:21):
after websites. I've seen websites goingafter for images and for background images and
stuff, and that's all legit.I mean it is if you can't show
that you paid for licensing for thoseimages you get. Getty Images is famous
for that, for asking for moneyor demanding you take it down. That's
(01:13:45):
why when I download an image andI pay for the rights, I record
it, I have the license andeverything, but I wouldn't worry about it.
It's happening to a lot of peoplethe shakedown. But I'm wondering,
are there any actual lawsuits where thisis where people have been sued successfully and
(01:14:06):
had to pay hundreds of thousands ofdollars because someone could could not access their
access their website. I doubt it. I mean, wouldn't WordPress have some
kind of warning when you build awebsite or wouldn't web developers be all over
this? But every once in awhile this letter surface is where people get
(01:14:28):
hit up, and it's been Itmust be very successful because a lot of
people are paying, and they're afraidand think about it. If they want
something of five hundred dollars, alot of people say, you know what,
I'm just going to pay this tobe done with it. But you
see, what you're really doing isjust getting rid of that one nuisance,
that one person. That doesn't meansomeone else can't shake you down. And
(01:14:50):
I'd argue they're not getting rid ofthem once you pay them the five hundred.
You got the word sucker on yourface, that's for sure. And
again, ADI compliancy for websites,I've never heard that. You know,
I've heard of browsers trying to makethings ADA compliant with reading and translations and
stuff like that, but I've neverheard of anyone being sued. If I'm
(01:15:15):
going to look it up during thebreak, but I've never heard of it.
We got more coming up. I'mtroubleshooter, Tom Martino. Hi,
Tom Martino. You're troubleshooter three ohthree seven one three talks seven one three
eight two five five. So you'renot gonna believe what I found on non
(01:15:35):
compliant websites. Listen. I havefound many articles that says that the compliancy
ADA compliance. There were in twentytwenty three more than four thousand lawsuits filed,
(01:16:01):
success a forty two percent increase overtwenty twenty two. In twenty twenty
four, there continues to be thousandsof lawsuits filed against owners of inaccessible websites,
and many of them have collected damagesfor it. People are indeed being
(01:16:25):
sued for having websites that are notcompliant with Americans with Disabilities Act. The
US courts apply ADA accessibility requirements towebsites and businesses considered to be commercial operations,
and they must ensure that their websitesare fully accessible. Now, no
(01:16:51):
shared an autotech You're looking at yoursright now thinking, so is Kevin.
I'm telling you I'm reading this.Websites should conforms to the Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines WCAG at level AA to becompliant. When these lawsuits are filed,
(01:17:16):
they are often settled with businesses payinghundreds of thousands of dollars for non compliance.
Mark, I know, Tom,I mean, there's several articles here
on people who have gotten popped forhundreds of thousands of dollars for not having
(01:17:40):
compliant websites. The websites have tobe able to talk to people, the
websites have to be able to havebe enlarged, the website, there's all.
If you look at the compliance whatthey have to do, it's incredible
now, I mean, you know, I know, a lot of it
might be considered a shake down andmaybe these maybe these law firms won't go
(01:18:02):
through with it, but they certainlyhave. In fact, there's an entire
there are so many articles on this, I can't believe it, and about
how some businesses have gone out ofbusiness as a result of it because they
they went broke. And I doubt, I doubt all that propaganda you're reading
(01:18:23):
is coming from those same companies thatare fishing for people to get back to
Mark one's coming from Americas with DisabilitiesAct an Advocate website. I mean,
I mean, I I doubt Idoubt that these I doubt that these websites,
by the way, can all bemanufactured. I can't. I mean,
maybe some of them are. Maybesome of them are. There is
(01:18:45):
a list. One is one iscalled accessible dot com. That's one accessible
dot com. Another one is letme see hold on. One is something
dot gov here Ada. I'm looking. While I'm reading, I'm trying to
do this web web compliancepro dot com. One is from WordPress, and one
(01:19:14):
is called news dot mobar dot org. I mean, is your contention Mark
that there have not been lawsuits filed? That is not my contention. My
contention is if someone uses at whatI'll refer to as a phishing scheme and
do not reply to it, andninety nine point nine percent of the time
you'll never hear anything again. Butbut if there were forty six hundred lawsuits
(01:19:40):
filed in twenty twenty three, Imean, that's a lot of lawsuits,
actual lawsuits that were filed. Areyou saying they were suckers that that replied
and if you ignore it, theygo away? Give me one case so
we can look one up. Look, okay, but it's hard to do.
Well, let's go, let's godown the rabbit hole. Let's look
up an actual case. I wouldlove to, in fact I will,
(01:20:01):
but I can't do it while I'mtalking. I mean, it's just impossible
to do that. But I toldthe guy it was all a scam,
and I'm not look at I'm notsaying you should respond to these emails.
And we have had several clients getthese emails. And we've had several people
that they got the health scared outof them because they're being told that their
websites have to be compliant. Butwhen I look, for example, at
(01:20:26):
Amazon, I don't see anything hereon the Amazon dot Com website that's compliant.
I don't see anything that's compliant. So what do they mean by that?
I'm wondering if we should get someonefrom ADA on to talk about it,
because this is definitely I mean,in fact, I don't know what
(01:20:47):
a compliant website even looks like. That's what I'd like to know. So
I'm gonna do some more searching onthis. But apparently the the they call
it the Web Content accessibility guidelines, and that's what I want to find.
And again a lot of them comefrom this one. I'd like to know
(01:21:10):
who owns this one website. It'scalled accessible dot com. We ought to
find out who owns probably the sameexact attorneys that send those letters out.
Well, let's find out. Imean, how would you find out?
Like they're gonna have a registered owneron it? Why would they do that?
Well, I don't know. I'mgonna I mean, we haven't even
looked. We can go to whois and find out? Right, No,
(01:21:32):
why did you do it? Mostlikely they don't want you to know.
Okay, I'm gonna try it anyway. Like I said, I can't
do it while I'm talking three ohthree seven one three talks seven to one,
three eight, two five five.On another topic, I talked about
some of the stuff in sunblocks.Another one actually is really concerning called oxy
(01:22:01):
oxy benzone, and what that doesis it blocks certain hormone or endocrine It's
endocrine disruption, causing an interference inhormones. And that's put in a lot
of sunscreen. So to avoid tofind sunscreen that's healthier, you got to
(01:22:25):
avoid oxybenzone, Vitamin A and insectrepellent, especially if you're putting these on
kids. Now, some of thestuff you want in a sun block would
be zinc oxide. That's the magic. That's the stuff that some of the
cheaper ones don't even have. Youwant zinc oxide, you want a cream
(01:22:50):
form, sprays do not work. You want something that's water resistant, and
then something called avo ben zone.Do you know what that is? Doc
avobenzone, And then there's some otherstuff. But it's really amazing to me
how many people by just sunscreen andhow why it's allowed. It is absolutely
(01:23:14):
allowed to be to be sold. The website. I'm reading this on one
of the websites I used was ewgdot org slash sunscreen ewg dot org slash
sunscreen if you're interested in that.Three O three seven to one three talk
seven one three eight two five fiveyep is is sunscreen considered a drug?
(01:23:40):
Or is it like vitamins and supplementswhich don't have DEA approval? Or I
don't think it's considered a drug,is it? I mean like, is
it like an aspurn? Do youmean? Well? No? My point
is if if the DEA doesn't regulateit, then that's why the DA allows,
Well, yeah, the DEA doesn't, but certainly the FDA does.
The FDA looks at everything on theshelves that we that make health claims.
(01:24:02):
If you call yourself a sunblock, they look at supplements, they look at
everything. Now, they do havea classification called generally recognized as safe,
meaning that in general the benefits outweighthe disadvantages and they're generally recognized as safe.
But you know, what is safeto some people may not be safe
to others. And anyway, soas far as as far as sunscreen,
(01:24:28):
that's for sure. And then there'sanother class of products you should be aware
of. Do you know there areproducts again they're generally approved as safe or
recognized as safe. Gross it's calledand ALO products. Do you know that
ninety percent of products called alo inthe name do not contain alo at all.
(01:24:54):
They do not contain the alo plantat all. I mean you may
spell it a L L O andif they leave off the E. No,
No, technically no, they're they'rea L O E OK. And
they're considered it said, it's oneof the biggest ripoffs. But again the
FDA does nothing about it because it'scalled ALO. They're not saying we have
(01:25:16):
alo. It's called ALO, andthat's truly what what the standard is because
it's safe, it's not dangerous, but it contains no ALO. So if
you're looking for something that contains ALOand you buy something called ALO, you
can't, I swear to God youcan't. You don't know if it contains
(01:25:39):
ALO. No I was Oh,hi, Tom Martino, your troubleshooter.
Three oh three seven one three talkseven one three eight two five five One
Clear Choice Garage Doors. It's carDays, so let's talk about garage doors.
(01:26:00):
They'll come out twenty four to seven. If you have a problem with
your garage door and you need itto get closed and locked and secured or
opened, or you have a brokenspring or a problem, or regular service
as well. All of their pricesare on their website one Clear Choice Doors
dot com One clear Choice Doors dotCom, and they do all kinds of
(01:26:21):
openers and components and doors. Now, let's talk about a texting. By
the way, I forgot to tellyou and give that number out again.
You can text my Google number whichis three oh three seven. Exuse me,
no it is it's seven four sevennine nine nine eighty. So if
(01:26:42):
you want to text that, youcan and I will absolutely talk about it
on the air. You can alsotext our regular numbers, which is five
seven, seven three nine. Nowon one of the texts I've gotten,
somebody wants to know, Okay, they want to know if what is this
(01:27:04):
one? Shannon? Did you sendme one to you? Do you really
mean that or not? You don'tmean that, You're just a creep.
He's sending me one. Okay,Now, as far is it, read
it? Read it? Oh,Shann has said, should I replace my
car air filters after all of thissmoke? Actually that's not a bad question.
(01:27:27):
By the way. They're called cabinfilters, by the way, not
your air filters. He's talking aboutchanging the air in his air filter.
Oh okay, I get it.But as far as cabin filters, cabin
filters, by the way, whenshould cabin filters be changed? Just a
regular interval, every other oil change, you know, every every year,
(01:27:49):
every season? I mean whatever?Do old cars have cabin filters? I
never used to hear about him?So when did they start up? When
did they? They've been around foroh at least ten to fifteen years now,
but not all cars still don't havethem. If you live on a
dirt road and have one, youshould do it a lot. If you
regularly keep your dogs or your catsin the car whenever you go for rides.
(01:28:12):
Left, pet dandren hair. Now, what are those roundabouts called roundabouts?
Road? Yeah? Roundabouts when you'redriving? Yeah. Some guy,
just some guy texted me and saidhe hates roundabouts because people don't know how
to properly use them. Do I? I grew up on roundabouts New Jersey.
We didn't have lights. Man,everything was a roundabout. Now a
(01:28:35):
roundabout properly proper use, he askedme. If I knew what proper use,
let me take a stab at itthe way I understand it. When
you're in the roundabout, you havethe right of way, and you can
enter the roundabout as long as noone'sblocking you. So if someone enters on
the other side, you can enteron this side. If someone enters to
the left of you, you canenter to the right as long as you
(01:28:57):
don't block them. So the onein the round about has the right of
way, Is that right? That'swhy? And you have to come to
a stop only if there's not anopening to merge into it. Correct Otherwise
you don't come to a stop mark. Is that your understanding? Yeah,
it's pretty I'm not even really followingwhat you're saying. I mean, when
you get to one, it's prettylogical at to operate in one. You
(01:29:19):
know, No, it's not markbecause a lot of people say when they're
going around the turn, someone pullsthe right out in front of them and
they're not supposed to Well, you'resupposed to yield until you can pull in
there. That's that's what that's that'sright. But but people don't understand that
that the people in the roundabout havethe right of way. Well, I
guess what I'm saying is logically, how would you think anything else? Like
(01:29:43):
the people if people in the roundaboutstopped, it would just be cars in
a circle. Well obviously, butguess what. People don't necessarily think logically,
And there are not necessarily yield signson all roundabouts. There are some
roundabouts without any sign, it's whatsoever. And they all merge like a yield
like on a not on a ninety, but on a forty five degree angle.
(01:30:06):
They all merge in a logical way. You would think that everyone should
drive into the roundabout when it's theirturn, but if someone's in it coming
up on it, you would beI've had several times I've been driving in
a roundabout and I'm right up tothe point where that other car is,
and they they just come driving straightthrough as if there's no impedance and come
(01:30:30):
right in front of cars in theroundabout, just just like it. There's
not just like it's a straightaway. They don't even consider looking to their left
or their right. They don't evenconsider it. They just drive right into
it. I like them the labbetter. I find them way better.
Well, then trust to be waymore, way more efficient. Now another
thing, go ahead, what wereyou say do? I'm just gonna say,
(01:30:51):
yielding in a roundabout is like stoppingat a stop sign. It's a
rule of the road. And whenyou take your drivers sess you should know
that. Of course you should knowthat I'm not arguing that right, and
if you don't, you're the onethat's that fault of this an accident.
Most people don't even know when you'resupposed to merge, like they'll try to
merge early. Most people don't know. It doesn't matter what speed you're going
(01:31:14):
in the far left lane. Ifthe car to the right of you is
going faster. You shouldn't be inthe lane. That's right. That's right.
It's not a speed limit thing.It's a courtesy thing. Or it's
a flow thing. Now, asfar as merging, you're not supposed to
You're not supposed to cross that solidline when you're in that merge lane.
You're supposed to go all the wayup to the head of that lane and
(01:31:35):
or the end of it or whatever, speed to where you that's right,
to where you have a break, and then people in the regular flow of
traffic should let you in. It'scalled a zipper and they should let you
in in that zipper formation, butthey don't. Some of them purposely speed
up to keep you from merging. It sucks, But I don't know what
it is. It's like a psychologicalthing. For God's says, like people
(01:31:58):
try to keep people out of roundabout. Now, here's another thing that bugs
me, and I don't know whypeople. I don't know. If you
can picture this, okay, aregular stop sign meaning we let's just say
we have a rap hole road, okay, And then if you're on like
a side street that goes onto arap hale road, you got the one
to the south of a rapo roadthe one to the north right. So
(01:32:19):
they're both perpendicular the same street.Let's say Street A, and your Street
A is perpendicular too, and runsright through a rapa hale road. And
there's a stop sign. So thepeople coming from north to south stop,
people coming from south to north stop. They just stop and wait for traffic
on a rapo road then proceed.Okay, So where it's not divided,
(01:32:43):
let's just say there's a street whereit's not divided. It's not who gets
to the stop sign first that hasthe right of way. It's not the
same as a four way stop. It's not the same as a three way
stop. It's and and there's nosuch thing as I know I called two
way stop. But what a fourway stop is is whoever gets there first.
(01:33:03):
And this is something that morons inColorado just can't get straight, because
I swear to God, everyone thinksthey get there first. But you look
around, and the one who getsthere first has right away. If you
both get there at the same time, who's at the right away, the
one to the right right. Noone knows that. So, so okay,
(01:33:24):
on a regular stop sign, though, where you're both stopped facing each
other and there's traffic in the middle, Okay, it doesn't matter who got
there first. The people going straighthave the right away. Period. They
have the right away. If youwant to turn left, even if you
got to that stop sign first, you don't get to turn left in front
(01:33:46):
of that car going straight when there'sa break in traffic. But you would
be shocked at how many people thinkthat a regular stop sign is treated like
a four way stop. So soimagine how silly that is. They pull
up to the stuff and they're there, and then you pull up after them.
So they were clearly there first. They're turning left, you're going straight.
(01:34:06):
When there's a break in traffic, they believe they should go first.
That is not the rule of thelaw at a stop sign, a regular
stop sign, it's the person goingstraight has the right of way. The
person turning must yield well. Andthe other thing is too, is when
you're taking a turn onto a multilane road, you have the right of
(01:34:29):
way to the most inner lane toyour turn, even if you have an
arrow if you have an opposing sideit has a stop light. That's right.
They come to a complete stop stopwhen you go to turn right onto
that road, you have the rightof way to the inner lane to your
right. They can't, so theycome across outside lane and they do.
And that's another thing. When youdo turn right from a turn, you
(01:34:51):
would think that, for God's sakes, people would know this. When you're
turning right onto a street, you'resupposed to turn into the rightmost lane.
You're not supposed to turn into thecenter lane. Do you know how many
people turn into the center or farleft lean. That's crazy, just common
sense. Tom Oh yeah, duh? Really, Oh I should know that.
(01:35:13):
Then no, come out these people. But why is it? Why?
I mean, do we need likeprimers on how to drive? For
God's sakes. It's just amazing tome. Anyway, Mike, you have
a comment about roundabouts, Go ahead, Mike, Yeah, an American.
They're an idiotic European invention. Theyare. They are a European invention.
(01:35:35):
You're absolutely right, he said, they but I like them. By the
way, probid energy dot com isyour solar system one of the or your
solar company one of the ones wehighly believe in. That's probid energy dot
com for residential and commercial including theREAP grants, probid energy dot com.
(01:36:00):
Yeah, Hi, Tom Martino, your troubleshooter three oh three seven one three
talk seven one three eight two fivefive. So where do you think most
online ripoffs happen? Where do youthink we're like? What country or stay?
(01:36:21):
No, what vehicle for online ripoffs? It's romance of shopping, of
social media. It's it's shopping,by the way, And I would have
thought shopping was the safer one.We believe it or not, there are
more there's more fraud on online shoppingsites than anywhere. How you got your
(01:36:45):
piano? Yeah? Online. Otherone that's really I see a lot is
elderly people having something come up onthe computer that there's a bug or right,
and sharing and yeah, to sharetheir screens with me. The other
day, do not let anybody intoyour computer, Josh, what's going on
with you? Josh? Hey,tell a couple of things I wanted to
(01:37:09):
comment on. First. One ofthe things that pissed that makes me mad
with traffic circles or roundabouts is whenpeople don't know and they stop to let
you in while they're in the middleof the circle. No, that's true
too, you're right through, You'reright you're right being too courteous. And
then oh yeah, yeah, Andthen I have had a friend who has
gone the ticket making a right turnand going out to the far left lane
(01:37:32):
before for improper lane change. Good, and they should because it's really dangerous.
Now, technically you're supposed to makeit the right into the far right
lane, and then if you wantto go to the left to merge,
then you turn on your blinker andyou change one lane at a time.
But you'd be shocked at how manypeople come out of that turn and swing
(01:37:54):
wide out to the farmost left lane. I'm thinking, Oh my gosh,
I mean really, I guess lookat this might seem petty, but you
would think people would learn how tofreaking drive Now, Now, am I
the only one? Let me justask them, Josh, Then you can
ask you a question on car insurance? Am I the only one that notices
this? People are driving more andmore without headlights? Have you noticed people
(01:38:17):
driving without headlights ever? Never?Lately? At night? Yes? Yes,
Like like all of a sudden yousee a car and they have no
light on whatsoever. And I thinka lot of that has to do with
most vehicles. Now, you turnon your turn the vehicle on the headlights
automatically. Come on, now,you can defeat them. You can turn
them off. Then they don't turnthem back to the car wash. They've
done something else. So, Josh, you wanted to talk about car insurance.
We're running out of time, butwhat is your question? We'll get
(01:38:40):
to it. I have the rentersand a car insurance policy. There are
coupled and now I am on thed to the house and no longer a
renter. Oh okay, I thinkyou texted me on that. I remember,
did you? Yeah, okay,we're going to answer you. Hold
on, we're coming up. Ohyeah, it is one. You have
(01:39:02):
time? Yeah, ripped up?Bad news? You need advice? Who
you don't have the come running justas stasis. We can. Shooter's gonna
help coming. This is the TroubleshooterShow. Now Tom Martino, Hey,
(01:39:30):
Tom Martino here, welcome to theshow. Three oh three seven one three
talk seven one three eight two fivefive. I have Jeremy on from Compass
because we have a question and uhdoesn't seem to be real complicated. This
is Josh. Now, Josh, you have a combo policy? Is that
right? Yeah? That's right. So he has Jeremy a policy for his
(01:39:50):
renters insurance along with his car insurance. Okay, okay, then he became
a owner of the house. Orare you part owner or what happened with
the house? Josh? Yeah,I'm a part owner. So did you
actually you actually are on the deed? Right? Correct? Well, yeah,
(01:40:11):
I haven't double checked. We dida couple of weeks ago. I
haven't double checked the county website tosee if it's no. No, I
understand, but but you actually howdid you buy your part of that was
was did you buy it from theperson that owned it or did you buy
another house? How did it work? Now? I bought it from my
mother in law, so she's onthe deed and I'm on the deed.
But you were renting from your motherin law? Correct? Because it's a
(01:40:34):
duplex. I get it. You'rerenting from your mother in law and it
and I uh. And then youbought from your mother in law. And
when you say she's on the deed, is that because it's a duplex.
Do you own all of your half? It's between the deed. I mean,
(01:40:56):
as far as we understand, allthree of us are on the deed,
my wife, me and my motherin law. And yeah, but
are all three of you on thedeed bail agreement? Are all three of
you on the deed for the duplex? Yes? So all three of you
own two units? Yes, yes, because the way it's set up with
(01:41:16):
the county is it's a single address, but it does have two separate nailing
addresses. Okay, that's fine,it's it's one. But you have one
loan, correct, okay? Orone okay? So one loan, one
deed, two units, and there'sthree of you on it. And are
you and your wife on as oneparty and her as another? Or are
(01:41:40):
they three separate people? No?I believe we're on together as one unit.
So is half and half? Youand your wife own half and your
mom owns half. Yeah, that'sthe way. Let's hope it does.
But not all of them read thatway. But in any case, at
least you add her enough for insurancepurposes, So Jeremy, so he changes
the renter's insurance, right, yeah, correct, he would need a homeowner's
(01:42:05):
policy once he's the owner. Weall three of them need one homeowner's policy
or they don't each get one.Right, it's not like a condo.
Correct. Well, And that's reallykind of how it's needed. So if
it's a if it's a duplex,but they all three own both units,
they would have one policy with allthree of them on. Now, yeah,
(01:42:28):
that's what I want to know. Then is there a policy on there
already? Josh, Yes, mymother in law has a policy. Well,
okay, well, then you're coveredby that policy or no one's covered.
In other words, she better alterthat policy to include all of you.
Correct, Yeah, they need tobe added. At a minimum,
(01:42:50):
they would need to be added asnamed insurance on that current homeowner's policy.
So Josh, okay, good toknow. Yeah, and now she may
want you to chip in for it. That's fine whatever, because you're part
owner now right right, yep.But now your renters insurance then drops off
of your combo insurance. Okay,Now his which is fine because the Renters
(01:43:18):
was only added because with the discount, it essentially came to no cost.
Okay, so you drop your renters. His car insurance shouldn't go up,
then, right, Jeremy, Well, it will go up. I think
he's saying it will go up thesame amount he was paying for the renters
(01:43:38):
policy. So if the renters policyis fifteen bucks. His autom might go
up fifteen bucks a month, buthe's not paying that renters anymore, so
he kind of comes out even.Okay, I see, but technically when
you have a bundled rate, it'scheaper, technically correct. Okay, Josh,
So make sure you and your wifeare named on that new pole or
(01:44:00):
that policy that your mother in lawhas. And yeah, thanks for con
appreciate that. Thank you, Jeremy. That's home of the insurance checkup three
O three nine nine six nine thouAnd let's talk about let's see, oh
Stephen with HVAC. Go ahead,Stephen, what's going on with you?
(01:44:20):
Oh hey, what's happening? Oh? Yes, I leave my purnas.
An air conditioner went out late yesterdayafternoon. Now did they just go out
like a ball? But I meanall of a sudden it doesn't work or
is it not blowing? Just quitwas working? There was a power surge.
(01:44:42):
I mean there was a power wentoff over here this area and Aurora
late Tuesday evening and it didn't comeback on until eleven by had shut the
conditioner off. That can't it workedtoday? And you yesterday until I don't
(01:45:02):
know five o'clock or so. Howold is your system? How old is
your system? About twenty four yearsnow? Okay. I was going to
say it could be something really simple, and it still could be something simple,
but it's probably time to change itout anyway. If it's a twenty
(01:45:23):
four year old system, Wow,you got a lot of good use out
of that, didn't you. Ohthe other one lasted longer than that.
The next from seventy six? Wellhold on, wow, so this is
the ac en furnace you think wentout? Both I tried resetting it and
(01:45:43):
I tried to get the furnace tocome on. What size house do you
have? I guess about fourteen hundredfeet. It's a brick house, and
uh oh it's yeah, pretty good. Have you gotten any bids yet?
(01:46:06):
Oh? No, no, no, no, I don't know. I
may not before colleague twenty four toseven. I just wanted to, well,
here's what you want to do.This is what I recommend. I
recommend you get more than one bid. And I don't care who you're calling
now. I'm not saying these peoplearen't honest and good, but I want
you to be secure in what youdo. So you want to make sure
(01:46:31):
that you're not that you're getting whatyou need. Now. You may not
need an ultra efficient unit. Itdepends, you know. Sometimes that's a
waste of money, depending on yourhow how your house is insulated, How
old is your house? I wasbuilt in fifty nine, but got plenty
of new insulation in the walls. It has a basement too. Is it
(01:46:54):
very well insulated? The people cameand insulated it again. Okay, so
who are you thinking that you mightwant to get some bids? I can.
I can give you some suggestions.I mean from the referral list.
I'm getting some bids if you wantto do that. Well, before colleague
(01:47:15):
twenty four seven, I was goingto for you because I only got one
hundred and forty eight dollars in myaccount. I don't get paid till next
Thursday. Wait, hold on,azi, hold on one hundred and forty
eight dollars. But obviously you knowwhat a furnace costs, right about five
five thousand dollars. But no,no, I wish it did I wish
(01:47:35):
it costs five grand? Honest togod. Now I'm going to tell you
I'm going to Master Services has himunder five grand. But it's gotta be
a small house. It's fourteen hundredsquare feet. Mark. That would that
would that would be it. Iwas going to give that. I was
going to give them as one ofthe recommendations to get a bid, because
you don't need the greatest of thegreatest. Unless you need the greatest of
(01:47:58):
the greatest. It all depends onin your house. I mean, what
I'm saying is you get something that'sgoing to work and something you can afford.
Now, were you going to financethis? Is that what you were
going to do. I don't knowwhether we have to replace the furnace.
But my son girlfriend, he soldher house and she got a lot of
money, and she already bought adishwasher, And is she going to help
(01:48:26):
you pay for the furnace? Maybewell, maybe you pay for repairs.
Okay, okay, okay, you'reright, You're right. I keep saying,
pay for the furnace. You maybe able to get it fixed.
You might be able to get itfixed. But I'm just going to warn
you of something. On a twentyfour year old furnace air conditioning unit,
it may not be worth fixing. It's service before. Okay, what did
(01:48:55):
it quit before? And you gotit running. Huh did it quit before
you got it running? Oh?It just quit yesterday afternoon. Pill.
What I'm saying is have you hadit serviced before? Oh? Yeah,
yeah, it's cleaned. It ina new capacitator on the motor. And
(01:49:15):
how long ago is that for ayear or two ago? Did they?
And who did it for you? Then? I think it was either plumb
Line or twenty Horse Service twenty fourto seven. Okay, okay, fix
it twenty four to seven. Here'sthe deal. They're good, honest people.
But I'm here's what I'm afraid of. Listen, these companies, all
(01:49:39):
of them, they want to replacethings that they can if they're old.
Okay, not if they can,but if they are old. I fear
that no matter who you get outthere with a twenty four year system,
they're going to try to replace it. But you may want to ask them
straight up front. Can they tryto tell you what you need first?
(01:49:59):
And I would get more more thanone opinion? Let me give you some
suggestions, Okay, I would. You can call fix It. They're good
people and ask them for their opinion. Tell them you want to try to
keep this running. You don't wantto replace it if it's possible, and
get a bid, and then ifthe BID's then then they might give you
a bid also to replace it.But what I'm telling you is I'm going
(01:50:23):
to tell you how to approach it. You tell them first. Your preference
is to try to keep this thingrunning if you can, and if not,
you need to know what it willcost to the most reasonable cost for
replacement. The most reasonable cost forreplacement for this house. Now. Their
number is seven to zero five twosix thirty nine thirty nine. I want
(01:50:44):
you to call Master Services. Theseguys have specials for small homes, and
you might if you do have toreplace, you might want to go with
them. Again, They're all goodcompanies, but you have to do shopping
no matter who you deal with inthe universe, there's nothing wrong with getting
comparisons. Their number at Master Servicesis seven to zero four three four thirty
(01:51:11):
four oh six. Hey hey,let me say something too about them,
real quick man. So I've gottwo units. Tom one is downstairs and
Apple Air actually did that one fouryears ago. My other AC unit for
the upstairs is in the attic,so I got a bid on that one
from multiple companies on our referral list, and the cheapest one came in at
(01:51:34):
over twenty five thousand dollars. Ihad Master Services come out about a month
ago and they figured out it wasthe uh, oh, what do you
what's the main part in the ACthe condenser, the condenser, and they
ordered the condenser presser two either.Yeah, it wasn't that, It was
(01:51:54):
just the condenser. It looks likea radiator basically, So they pulled that
out. They saw where the freeon was leaking out, they ordered a
new one. They put it in. It's a twenty two year old furnace
and it works like brand new rightnow. And it was less than two
grand. Where replacing it was.I had quotes from twenty five to forty
(01:52:15):
thousand dollars. God, wow,did you get that number? Served for
Master Services? Seven two zero somethingfour three four three four zero six seven
two zero three four Yeah, holdon, it's seven to zero four three
(01:52:43):
four three four zero six, Godalmighty, just hold on, hold on.
Do me a favor, hey, would you give him the number?
Please? Kitchina, help me outhere, help me out here? Off
the air? Please? Is sheover there? Or am I talking to
the air right now? She's noteven that I'll get it to her or
shammon. Okay, just just holdon. And I wanted to call plumbline
(01:53:04):
fix it. Then just just dosome shopping. Okay. You know this
idea of having one and done isnot going to work in today's world.
It's just not gonna work. There'stoo many variables. Hold on, sir,
and we'll get you some numbers.Three oh three seven one three eight
two five five. We got alot to talk about here. Waterpros dot
net for the best water systems atthe lowest price is now that I can
(01:53:27):
tell you, for absolutely sure, the lowest price anywhere for the best systems
if you're looking for water filtration, water softening, waterpros dot net three oh
three five five four, three ohthree eight six two five five five four.
Hi Tom Martino, you're a troubleshooterat three oh three seven one three
(01:53:50):
talk three oh three seven one threeeight two five five Gene, what's going
on? Gene? Yeah? Hello, Hi, what's happening? Well?
I have a problem with my carwith a rough ride, and I had
a tire that needed to be replacedand it couldn't be repaired, and so
the shop put on new tires, and prior to that, the car ran
(01:54:13):
smooth as glass. It only hasthirty six thousand miles on and I've proven
it to Portland and back and constructionroads. So they said they claimed it.
They claimed there was nothing wrong withthe tires. But I eventually got
my money back, and then Iwent to another time. Hold on,
hold on, Jean, Jean,Jean. Wait wait, wait, So
you had four tires put on it. You didn't like the way it drove,
so they took them off and putthe old ones back on. Or
(01:54:35):
what? No? I went toanother tire store. It was just two
tires's front wheel drive. Oh,I need to report. So the two
tires that you replaced that you stillhave? No, they threw them away.
Wait a minute, I guess I'mconfused. The old tire, well,
the old tires. One of themhad a I'm not talking about your
(01:54:56):
old tires. You said you gotnew tires, right. I went to
an other shop and got tires, and then I took the other ones back
to the first shop. Well,oh, did they have you a refund
on them? Yes? Good, okay, so now you have So now
I'm at a different tire shop. They put tires on got it. I
had the same problem. Huh,but it never happened before this. No,
(01:55:17):
and all you replaced were two fronttires correct, And what do you
think the problem is? Well, let me tell you the rest of the
story. So then he sent meto Breaks Plus. He said there must
be something wrong with your car,and I said, well it was fine
before. It only has thirty SoBreaks Plus they did everything. It was
a place that he recommended because hesaid they were very good and very honest.
(01:55:40):
They could not find anything wrong withthe car. So I went back
to the tire store. He soldme a different set of tires, better
Michelin tires. I had to payseventy dollars extra. Did not help.
So the next thing I did isI took it to the dealership and they
had it for a couple of dayslast week and they said, well,
all four tires are overinflated and allfour tires are terribly balanced. So we
(01:56:04):
took somewhere out and we balanced them. You're fine. Well I got the
car back. It was not improved, and I had my boyfriend drive it
and he agreed that there was noimprovement. It still was a rough ride
way rougher than his pickup truck. But hold on a sec, Jeanie.
There's nothing these people could have donethat wouldn't have been discovered. If the
(01:56:28):
people that did your other two tires, okay, and the original shop did
two tires, you brought them back, you didn't want him. Then you
had two tires, you didn't likethose. Then you got two more tires
and they didn't help. Now yougot the dealer to go through it,
as well as brakes. Plus, there's nothing this first shop could have done.
If you're trying to blame them forthis, no, I'm not trying
(01:56:49):
to blame anybody. I'm just tryingto figure out what's okay, God helps
going on, and no one canfind out why your car drives differently right
now? Right? Wow? Caris it? And I went back it's
the twenty seventeen and they checked itagain and had it for two days and
they still can't When you say itdrives rough, give me an idea.
(01:57:11):
Do they sit with you? Doyou show them when you drive it what
you don't like? Yes? Hedid chest drive it with me and he
realized he agreed with me that itwas rough. What is it that is
rough? Give me an idea.My boyfriend, the way he describes it,
it drives as if the tires areextremely overinflated, but they're not.
You're feeling everything on the road.So what happens? Did you go here?
(01:57:36):
The road isn't a hundred perceive evena smooth asphalt, Every tiny little
crack huh. In a normal caryou would feel it. But what kind
of tires did you have the firsttime? That the not the new ones,
but the old ones that you love, goodyear tires that came with a
car, and gosh and nothing andeverything changed after that? Yes, what
(01:57:59):
the hell? L guys? Whatwould try for two months and I haven't
been able to get it solved?I would try struts? Yeah, that's
my first inclination to struts. Yeah. They lifted the vehicle up and they've
had a certain amount of travel theentire life of this car. Right,
so now that the wheel has fullyextended, the truck can't collapse properly.
They'll actually hang up. It's morecommon. It's not they did something wrong,
(01:58:21):
it's just that the struts were oldenough that when they fully extended,
they never closed up properly. Wewe hear that complaint more with Cheves than
it's just about anything else, butdefinitely as much. Which struts cost on
that car, and it's just thefront struts where she had the tire replace.
Well, she probably had all foursup, so she's probably gonna do
all oh oh oh oh, becauseshe lifted the car, it dropped the
(01:58:44):
wheels and all four struts may haveto be replaced. Get anywhere between you
know, eight to fifteen hundred.Oh gosh, depends on quality. How
can is there a way you cantest those struts for her? I mean,
is there a way the struts canbe tested? You can't well,
I mean they dealership said they checkedthe struts and there was nothing wrong with
(01:59:06):
them. But maybe that maybe youunderstand there's a difference between there's a difference
between checking the struts something and themnot fully collapsing. Right, it's not
something you can actually check. Hedoesn't have a bounce. That's what they
call checking the struts. They bounce, see if it recovers and so forth.
(01:59:26):
But it's just not absorbing the roadlike it was before. Ah mann't
about changing the tires, made thestruts, so they did. Here's here's
what they said when you bring thatup on a lift, and that car
has been thirty six thousand miles neverbeen on a lift. Once it went
up on a lift, they're they'rethey're speculating that possibly that lowered the struts
(01:59:49):
to a so they're they're wide openmore than they've ever been. And then
when they put the car back downon the on four wheels, they maybe
did not collapse uniformly, They didnot perfectly realign themselves like they were because
they hadn't like worn into a zone, so to speak. And then they're
(02:00:11):
not finding their equilibrium like they usedto. It's it's it's weird. Now.
Listen. What I would hate tosee is you put four freaking struts
on there and you drive away inthe same things happening. That would be
a nightmare. We've had customers comeback with that complaint. And we've got
a field that we'll go to andwe'll drive it through there at a moderate
speed and hit some good hard bumpsand a lot of times they'll recollapse.
(02:00:35):
Really, so you can get themto get them to recollapse. Yes that's
not all the time, but no, exactly, if it only has thirty
six miles on it, thirty sixthousand miles. It seems like they shouldn't
have worn out that fast. Wellthat's another good point. Did they wear
out or what I mean? Thereis thirty six thousand miles more extended and
(02:00:57):
so there's a lip in there fromwhere they have been running. So you've
got to collapse it past that lip. Okay really, So, I mean
these guys are pretty experienced. You'veseen this before where struts do not recollapse
like they were. Yeah, andjust the miles are one thing, but
the weight of the car has beensitting on it for seven years, you
know, so the struts do we'reout and then five six, seven thousand,
(02:01:18):
seven years it's about average. Okay, So it's not just miles.
It's time. It's time, youknow. Man. I hate to tell
you this, but and they're nottrying to sell them to you, but
you may want to. You maywant to, you know, replace your
struts. And so do you havea recommendation of where I should go to
(02:01:39):
have it done? Well, theseguys do it. But where are you?
I live in Highlin's Ranch? Okay. You you know, any good
shop can do them, but youwant to find someone that knows what the
hell they're doing too. I wantto go someplace where I'm one hundred percent
sure that they can do a goodjob. Well, you got then if
(02:02:00):
you want to drive to one ofour show. But we got a lot
of good shops on the referral list, and we got two sitting right here.
So if you go to referral listdot com, you look for those
shops and you say, look, and I'm coming here because I found you
on referral list, and I thinkI need struts because once they were extended,
they never seemed to be right afterthat. Well, I went to
(02:02:20):
I'm not very tech savvy, I'mnot very hyped. I went to the
referral list dot com and I couldn'tfigure out how to work it. I
couldn't figure out how to Okay, let me let me give you some suggestions.
Okay, we have shardan auto TechKevin sitting right here, and these
guys before they even do it,he might take it for a ride and
see what he thinks. They're notjust going to automatically do it shared in
(02:02:43):
auto Tech. He is on Colefax, west of Sheridan. But let me
give you his number and you askfor Kevin okay, and you just say,
this is Kevin right here. He'sbeen on the show answering the question
with you. Okay, three ohthree four five five seventy two forty two,
three oh three, four five fiveseven two Kevin he is. He's
(02:03:05):
the owner shared an auto tech.Okay. And then over here we have
Jeff sitting here, Jeff Vic andhe's a Kimra transmission. He does a
lot of drive train stuff like that. And Jeff, I mean you do
those right? Yeah, we usuallydo. Is this something you prefer not
to Okay, never mind, nevermind, then we won't do it.
(02:03:25):
That's good. So Kevin Kevin forthat. And then let me see you
else is down in your area.I'm trying to figure it. Mark,
do you have you hunh? That'sabout it down down south there, yep.
Okay, used to be pro auto. Oh what do you mean down
in that? They're not on anymore. No, Okay, there's still a
(02:03:48):
good shop, but for some reasonthings have gone a little south. Okay.
Uh, the big guy retired.Okay. So I'm saying, I'm
thinking that you want to just callKevin. You know, it's worth to
drive because what he'll do, he'llget in it. He'll check it first
and then maybe maybe it is notthat, maybe he can see something because
(02:04:11):
okay, and then you know,we'll see what happens. And if he
does have to do those he's notgoing to try to he's not going to
try to do more than he hasto do, and he's going to try
to get you a good deal onhim. Okay, okay, and let
us know what happens. Thank youfor calling. We got I got to
take this break, right bro amI overtime? I am over time.
I want to talk to Joe Keanofirst. Joe, Hey, listen,
(02:04:33):
man, you your connection was prettybad. Are you back? I know,
and I'm really sorry about that.Oh, don't worry about it.
Joe. When you were talking abouttime and money, can you ever continue
that? You were talking about thereare two ways to really make money if
you have time and you have money, right, That is right, and
this is exactly what we see ona daily basis. People actually invest their
(02:04:57):
money in something volatile like the stockmarket, and they make money when the
market goes up. But when themarket goes down, they lose not only
money, but they lose what time. And you see, time is a
crucial element for people to make theiraccounts grow. So if you have an
investment that goes up and down,up and down, up and down,
you're losing not only money, butyou're losing time. Now or retirement account
(02:05:24):
will protect your money. You willnot lose any time because it doesn't go
down. So in other words, you can only make your money grow.
And if the markets ever go down, you stay level. You don't lose
the time. That's the biggest differencebetween an investment at risk and the stock
market, let's say. And theguaranteed that pension account annuity that people can
(02:05:47):
use to roll over there for onecase, their pensions, their iras and
forget about losing time. That's right, Joe. And you're not just talking
about out having the guarantees, butthey're in writing and you have guaranteed returns
and guaranteed income. And if youwant to find out more about this,
(02:06:08):
just call three oh three seven sevennine sixty six hundred for a private conference
on this three O three seven sevennine sixty six hundred And you can look
up some of the products at mymoney, my way dot com. Hi,
Tom Martine Denverregen dot com for yourstem cell therapy. It works,
(02:06:33):
That's what I can tell you.And they're also doing hair replacement therapy with
stem cells as well. Denverregen dotcom. Let's talk. Okay, now
when it comes some people are saying, could a simple alignment be off on
that car? That woman said drivingwasn't the same? She replaced the tires,
(02:06:56):
never mentioned alignment. I don't know, guys. Can alignment calls it
to run a little rough? Yes? Is that something you might check?
Then when she takes the thing,we would check the first thing is alignment,
then balance? Would you'd you assumethey did the balance five times.
Somebody's looked at tires and balanced them. I think somebody would have got it
right. Okay. Now study revealswhat do you think the people consider the
(02:07:20):
most high status cars. I don'tmean like rolls, right, no,
No, I'm talking about like generalthat they see it the most they see
on the road. Rovers they see, Okay, Mercedes, according to a
survey, and this is uh okay, this is BMW, Mercedes, Benz
and Portia they feel are the mostcommon high status cars people see. And
(02:07:47):
guess what the dream cars are. When people were asked for their dream cars,
I just can't believe this. I'msorry, I can't believe it.
I would say Ferrari now again, you would think that, right, But
it says here for Toyota and Teslaare the top makes of Americans dream cars.
(02:08:09):
You know, I would think Lambeauand all that. But I guess
they're talking about I think they're talkingabout everyday cars and not exotics. I
think because the no exotics show upin these More than a quarter people drive
cautiously went around nicer cars. Didyou know that when you do? I
(02:08:31):
don't even look at I mean Ilook at cars, But do you judge
how you drive by what you're around? I think when I'm pulling into a
parking space, and maybe if therewas a really really nice car, I
might. I don't know. Whoknows. Almost a third judge people by
the status of their car. Athird of the people thirty three. Well,
(02:08:54):
I think even more than that.Actually, I don't know. What
do you think? It makes sense? Yeah? But who cares? One
thing I don't believe, and Irefuse to believe, is that women care
who they date based on a car. I don't. I mean, remembery
in guys, that is a chickmagnet. I don't think ever. Do
(02:09:16):
you really think there's a woman whowould think if there's two guys and they're
relatively the same, that one wouldthe fancier car would get the date.
I don't know. Maybe how aboutif one had a really crappy car.
Okay, I guess that women lovethe duct tape on my Zubaru exactly.
That could work. Forty percent ofelectric vehicles aren't considered high status. No
(02:09:41):
oh, no, I'm sorry.According to forty one percent of people,
forty of the survey, they didn'tconsider EV's typically high status. Well,
that's because most of them aren't.Right, Oh, I got to take
a break. Sorry, we gotmore coming right up. Hi, Tom
(02:10:03):
Martino, you're a troubleshooter at threeoh three, seven on three Talks seven
on three, eight two five five. Hey, guys, you know,
as we're wrapping up the show, let's talk. Are we seeing long service
times? What's the hardest things toget when people have to get things done
so they can plan ahead when they'relooking at car service, what are the
most difficult things to get? Well? Right now for us, we're actually
having a ton of problems. Wewere talking about it before the show with
(02:10:26):
Chrysler products, So Chrysler, Dodgeand Jeep just regular maintenance stuff. Some
of it's regular maintenance stuff. Butthere's they're out of production. We've got
every time I turn around, I'mcalling it's on national back order. There's
no projected release date, national backorder, no projector still good. They're
a lot better than Chrysler is rightnow. But for normal stuff, breaks
and shoes and maintenance and spelts andhoses, all of the normal spaceic stuff.
(02:10:50):
But if you need replacement parts,Chrysler's behind the red yes, and
it can be squirrellly no matter whatyou need because they don't produce an inventory
like they used to folks. That'sjust a sad fact. That's just a
sad fact. Don't forget shared aAutotech dot Com and Kimera Transmission and that's
Jeff Pica and Jordan and a rapo. Hey we're out of time. Remember
(02:11:13):
three h three Martino for help.
