Speaker 2 (01:20):
It's a high school rivalry that is unmatched across the state.
Another sellout crowd tonight here at Duck Sandford Stadium for
this ninety ninth beating between the Opelika Bulldogs and the
Auburn High Tigers. Hello, everybody, Welcome to Duck Sandford Stadium.
Van Riggs alongside coach Spence mccrack and Mike McCracken bringing
us our four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline reports tonight.
(01:41):
Jason Lee also helping us engineer tonight's broadcast to Jeremy
Till He'll be our spotder here and the press box tonight.
The Dog's hungry to snap a four game losing streak
to the Tigers, while Auburn coach Keith Etherich he tries
to look to remain perfect against the Bulldogs. Tigers have
dominated this series of late, They've won six of the
last seven, and with the split of Auburn High School
(02:01):
looming in the days in the future, this rivalry as
we know it, the days are numbered ope like a
first year coach Brian wore no stranger to this rivalry.
He's coached as an assistant in this game nine times.
This will be his tenth, and it'll be a big
one here. This is the only time he's coached the
game as a head coach, and only a few Opelika
coaches have been able to knock off the Tigers in
(02:21):
their first season as head coach. Last coach to do
it Rackford Furlough back in nineteen sixty. Brian Moore era
certainly has gotten off to a fast start. The Dogs
rolled in the first couple of weeks out into a
two and zero start, but a win here tonight would
certainly make a statement to the state of Alabama that
the opal Aika Bulldogs are back. Coach, I'm ready to
(02:43):
make that statement.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Oh golly, I'm so pumped up. I've been waiting for
this game. You know, when you we've won two and
we're playing this team and Brian doesn't have to say
anything to these kids, You get them ready to play.
This is a This is gonna be football, and it's
best as far as competition goes. But I really really
(03:05):
feel fan like tonight, we're really really gonna play well,
I'm not gonna give you any score prediction or anything
like that, but I know the mentality of this football
team is good. There are things we've got to do
that I'm gonna give you in keys to the game
in a few minutes. But we're gonna just play hop
like football, not let them run the ball, play great
(03:28):
defense and not making any mistakes on offense and kicking
game sound. I think we've got a good chance to
beat these guys. It's gonna be a great game. I'm
just blessed and thrilled to be here tonight, and uh.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
Godf to tell you how close this rivalry is. Coach
the starting linebacker tonight for Opalaika was a starting linebacker
for Auburn last season. Ty Hudson and kolbe Key played
his middle school ball in Auburn High school system, So boy,
I tell you. And then we've had those players on
both sides of this rivalry back and forth at different
schools from time to time. And you know those two
(04:04):
will certainly be playing with a chip on their shoulder
here tonight pregame show presented to you by Frederick Dean
Funeral Hall, will take our first time out when we
come back, we'll have a chance to sit down with
Opelika coach Brian Moore. After this time out. You're listening
to Bulldog football here on the Kicker.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Now it's time for a pregame visit with Opelikah head
football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank. Now
with coach, here's Van Riggs.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Big rivalry night tonight here at Doug Sanfords Stadium. Time
now for a visit with Brian Moore and coach Congratulations
to a O star. Just what stands out so far
from your from the group?
Speaker 4 (04:36):
Well, I'm just proud of the way they've played. I
mean how hard we've played.
Speaker 5 (04:39):
And you know we've been you know, up and down
a little here and there, you know, but I thought
I really liked the start last week against Callaway. You know,
obviously jumping out to the twenty one point lead was
huge for us. And we're able to play a ton
of kids, and so I love the buy in right now.
I mean the kids are you know, obviously all in
and uh getting better every week and hopefully it's good
enough tonight.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well, I tell you look like they were ready to
go from the get go. I mean your defense came
out on fire. Two turnovers that led to two scores.
That had to be a good start for coach Massi's bunch.
Speaker 6 (05:07):
No doubt.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
So we kicked off and then by the six minute
mark in the first quarter led by twenty one. So
that's a good way to start. We had some explosive plays,
two turnovers early. You know, I thought it was a
really dynamic start and really a lot that was surrounding
that game as far as the stadium renovations, and you know,
I thought the kids really handled that well.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Talk about the play your quarterback, I know, what a
start to the season. He's had just the accurssy he's
been there, the decision making, but he's got a good
run game to go along with it. With Calvin Hugley too.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's been the biggest thing.
But obviously as we go, Kobe's going to do more
and more. But he's proven that he can handle more.
He's a gamer. He's been extremely accurate. He's eighteen of
twenty so far on the year with a drop and
so he's like ninety five percent, you know, accuracy rate
right now. We charked that stuff. So and then Our
kids are playing well around him. You know, guys are
getting open. The protection's been there. I think we've had
(05:54):
one sack on the year and so really pleased with that.
But Kobe's playing well and he needs to continue tonight.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yea. I was going to talk about the offensive line
because there was one run play in that game where
Calvin goes around the left side and boy, there was
just people falling over getting pancaked. I mean they've done
a great job.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
Yeah, And I mean the guy that knocked him over
on that player referring to is Carmel Torbert, and Carmel's
a seventh eighth guy for us. We're playing a bunch
of guys that are to the standard to play and
so been really pleased with Coach Fleming in that group.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
All right, talk about Jamari Miller the night. He had
three touchdowns and the big kickoff return. Boy, those are
huge plays that just you know that can really you know,
in a game like this tonight, can.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Be huge well, and he had another touchdown taking off
the board in that game.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
So you know, Jamori's playing well. He's earned it.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
You know, we really pushed Jamari. You know, that was
one of our things in the off season was to
push our best, you know, to make sure that our
ones are really great. You know that we push and
make them the very best they can be. And so
guys like Calvin are excelling, Jamori is excelling. Those are
two guys that we knew coming back from a year
ago could play and you're just getting the best version
of those guys.
Speaker 4 (06:53):
So really proud of Jamari and the work he's done
so far.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
I know you wanted to see more from your defensive
line from week one to week two, and it was
those guys making the play on Friday night against Callaway.
Not so and the linebackers they were still there, but
it was the defensive guys up front that really made
the place.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Yeah, we challenged Malite, you know specifically, I mean the
other kids as well, but Malik really had a big night,
got more pushed, play with better effort and really to
his standard, you know.
Speaker 4 (07:17):
And so I thought we played well on the d line.
Speaker 6 (07:20):
TJ.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
You know, Tremaine Thomas continues to play really well. Please
with him being that fourth guy likes playing good and
of course I Mari's doing that.
Speaker 4 (07:29):
You know.
Speaker 5 (07:29):
He had a strip tackle and then recover the fumbles,
so you know he's a one man recond crew at times,
so really please our d line Coach hyl and Coach
Prescott doing a great job with them and then rotating
our second group in with them with Josh Davis and
some of those guys coming in.
Speaker 4 (07:42):
So you know, we're excited about that group.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
We need to continue to play a lot of bodies
and keep our rep count down, but excited about the
future with that group.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Talking with hey coach Brian Moore will continue our visit
as we preview Opalika versus Auburn tonight here on ninety
seven point seven KickFM. Right after this time out, welcome
back here on the pregame show VISNI with the head
coach Brian Moore, counting down to kick off tonight, a
big rivalry show down here atuck Sanford Stadium between Opalaika
(08:11):
and Auburn.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Coach.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I know it's your first year as a head coach
here at Opelakah, but you've been a part of these
games before you knew you know, the intensity the week
building up to it. Sometimes the game can become more
than the game, and I know it's hard to focus
these kids throughout the week.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
To get here.
Speaker 5 (08:24):
Yeah, I mean I started the messaging, you know, Friday
night after the Callaway game.
Speaker 4 (08:28):
I knew it was that important.
Speaker 5 (08:29):
We were doing the postgame show to start talking not
only to our kids, but our community because everybody's so excited,
you know, and everybody wants to see where we're at,
you know, and you know, both teams you know, are
two and Ozero at this point, and you know, obviously
we understand the tradition and all the games in the past,
and you know, this is will actually be my tenth
Auburn Opela like a game, and they have there have
(08:49):
been some real special ones throughout the years. But really
I cautioned the kids about making it bigger than it is.
Speaker 4 (08:54):
I mean, it's a huge game. But this is Region
game number one.
Speaker 5 (08:57):
So sometimes I've said this before, but even in your success,
should we win the game, you know, you still got
to come back down to Earth and keep playing. You've
played one Region ball game, so it is important. It's important,
you know, as a rivalry game. But everybody, you know,
we got to stay calm through this game, have mental stillness,
you know, trust our technique, trust what we've been coached
to do. Make sure we're super disciplined before and after
(09:19):
the whistle and make sure that we just play as
hard as we can and just see what happens from there.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
I just think that at times we've made it too
big in the past.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
Their offense, I know, it's got lots of weapons, especially
on our maps, and I think it starts with their
big running back, but their quarterback and also make you
pay if you don't keep up with him on on
an option play, he can take it and make a
big run.
Speaker 5 (09:38):
Yeah, he's the killgorel kid is extremely dynamic. I mean,
I think he was the missing link for them last year.
You know, as you look at their team and you
know they they at times had struggles from their perspective.
You know, I think it was because he wasn't there,
you know. And then them adding a plot, you know,
to the equation as well, is really their version of
Jamari Miller, and he is a dynamic returner, a dynamic
(10:01):
playmakers as their left side receiver, and then of course
o more maps and so I mean, you know, you
add that with a great offensive line, a really good
fullback in eighty four that can really do it all.
They keep the same personnel they don't change and suble lot,
so you have a hard time kind of matching. And
then they have a great scheme. I mean, they're very
well coached and it'll be a challenge for us tonight.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
We'll have to play really well offensively. What would you
like to see from your group tonight and wants the
strategy going in against this Auburn team?
Speaker 5 (10:27):
You know, both both you know game or both games
that we played so far with our snapcount's been really low,
and part of that's a lot of explosive plays.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
We need that snapcount to be really high.
Speaker 5 (10:36):
Our defenses played too many snaps, So we've got to
do a great job of keeping that snap count really
high on offense and really low on defense tonight, really
control the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Good news on Tyler earlier this week. Tyler Morgan to
play tonight, So that's it's a positive sign to know
for your ball team and great news earlier in the.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Week, massive news for us.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Tyler is a kid that not only you know is
a great football player, but is a great person and
a leader for a football program that would have been
a catastrophic loss for us, you know, truly, and to
have him back ready to go. A lot of prayers
going into that for he and his family and they've
just been through a lot with those knees and but
just really thankful that he'll be back tonight.
Speaker 2 (11:12):
Coach, good luck, enjoy this one. I know it's always
a fun one. Let's go get a win.
Speaker 4 (11:15):
Thank you and go Dogs.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Head coach Brian Moore will continue our pregame show after
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the Kicker.
Speaker 1 (11:24):
You are listening to OPLE like a high school football
here on ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. And now
it's time for Coach Vince McCracken's Keys to the Game,
presented by Glenn Smith Chevrolet, GMC and OPLE I got
and get ready to smile.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
All right, we'll turn things over to coach McCracken. Coach,
what are your keys to victory tonight? For those Bulldogs?
Speaker 6 (11:44):
This is gonna be a wild game.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Let me just tell you all you football experts out there,
let's go on with this real quickly, and I'm gonna
start with the defense. We've got to stop their running game.
They've got to tune your full back named Mattison, who
is a animal. I mean it's really good. We're gonna
have to stop him, not let them run the ball
in their quarterback.
Speaker 6 (12:06):
It's pretty good on his feet also.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
All right, well, coach Will Paul's the national anthem, and
then we'll come back and we'll finish up your keys
to the game. After this time out. You're listening to
Bulldog football right here on the kicker back here inside
Dug Sandford Stadium as we continue County to kick off
to the ninety ninth meeting between Oplaika and Auburn I
(12:31):
Van Riggs alongside Coach Smith mccrackey, Coach will continue those
keys to the gamers. Anybody Glenn Smith's Chevy GMC and Opelaika.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
All right, Van, no big plays, don't go up bendy
big plays. And two years ago we gave up a
trick play down there on the right side and it
cost us the football game. Because we're paying attention. Can't
allow anything like that to happen. We need to get
a couple of turnovers and we need to stop them
on third down. Don't let them convert third down versions
(13:00):
on defense, excuse me. On offense, we cannot turn the
ball over. We've got to make third and fourth down conversions,
no stupid penalties like holding penalties, and we need to
make big plays of a run over ten, a pass
over fifteen. I think if we can do those things
(13:21):
will be good. And then the five or six plays
are going to determine this game. Van you can write
them down. Whoever makes the five or six big plays
is probably gonna win this football game. And I always
one other thing about field position tonight, because we've got
two good teams playing. If we can get Auburn to
(13:41):
start from their own twenty yard line, they got a
twenty percent chance to score all the way down. If
we let them start from there on forty, they got
a forty percent chance.
Speaker 6 (13:52):
So we got to do a good job with field position.
Speaker 3 (13:56):
And then the first five minutes of the game, last
five of the half, first five of the third quarter,
and last five of the game. All you people listening
on the radio, just Mark goes down. That's twenty minutes
that I feel like are the most important twenty minutes
of the game that we must win to be able
(14:19):
to win this football game. And I'm gonna tell you something,
this is going to be a mental game tonight. These
guys Opelikah's got a dang good football coach, coaching staff
and a football team, and I think they've got a
great chance to pull this one off tonight.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
All right, thanks so much. There's coach Spence McCracken's Keys
to the Game presented to you buying Glen Smith, Chevy
GMC and Opelaika. Get ready to smile while we got
a moment. Let's pall ten seconds for station identification.
Speaker 7 (14:46):
WUKKR Auburn. Opelaika is League County's best Country ninety seven
point seven kicker FM and iHeart country station.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
All right, we'll take a quick break, come back with
your coin toss right after this time out. You're listening
to Bulldog football here. I'm the kicker, all right, Time
for the coin toss, Tyree, Pince Malik Autry, Kyle Epperson,
Jamari Millard, your captain's for the Bulldogs heading out to
the middle of the field. Mat McCracken standing by with
a white hat as both teams greet themselves and midfield
(15:18):
Bulldogs and all white tonight, white tops, white bottoms, red
numbers outlined in black tigers with the Navy a royal blue.
Speaker 6 (15:25):
Mister Bingley Young Pine. Let's have a good clean ball game.
Auburn talks to Auburn overlacka talk. Oka, Okay, now, I'm
gonna tell y'all this. I know this is a big
rival gamef y'all, take care of your teams. I'm eleven
and number thirteen. I will call you out here up
the field and we'll have a little discussing. Okay, didn't
wanna go back and take care of your teams?
Speaker 8 (15:45):
Okay, we will not take We will not put up
with ammy cushion shoving in.
Speaker 6 (15:49):
The map, pean of trash talking.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
Okay, yea over lock you to visit a team that
is tailors and that is here.
Speaker 6 (15:56):
What's you gonna call us? Gonna call to Tales? I
drop It'll flip it again and it is Teal. You
want to kick receive with the third second half? All right?
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Opelikah winning the toss and defer into the second half.
So we'll see this defense. Coach mccracky come out here early.
I like them, and see if the defense could set
the intensity level here early in this one.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
So, sir, I just think this is it. Don't let
them run the ball on us. And whoever plays the
best Defense tonight. You know there's three phases, offensive, defense
and kicking.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
We will win two of the three phases. If we
can win.
Speaker 3 (16:36):
Three, that's great, all right. If we win two of
the three, we all be in good shape.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Coin Toss Tonight is brought to you by Rentals Outdoors.

to start this game. Let's head down on the field
for our very first four seasons. Federal Credit Union Sideline
report and Matt McCracken is standing by Matt a Van.
Speaker 8 (17:22):
We talked about this, you know, all week, and this
game has.
Speaker 6 (17:24):
Been circled of course since last year.
Speaker 8 (17:27):
I mean I've had some old text messages with my
buddy Casey Hall, who's here ninety five.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
When we got here, and then all the way up
to you know, Keith Johnson.
Speaker 8 (17:35):
It was the quarterback who beat Ophlakah the first time
in ninety five when we were when Dad's first year
was here, and you know, he had a good old
joking contest with Jamie Cooper, who was his Auburn teammate,
and just told him because Jamie married a opa like
a girl, Maggie Maggie Meadows which is now Maggie Cooper,
and just gave him a hard time and said, remember
where you're from, Auburn. So it's just a great rivalry here.
(17:58):
This is gonna be fun. Impacted, great weather, guys.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
And let's play some football, all right.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I like it.
Speaker 6 (18:04):
Make McCracken's fired up. I have heard him mcfired up.
I love it. That's great. Hey.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
The Bulldog fans are on their feet, and Johnny Cecina
a little tweaked up in pregame warm up. So Reese
Beasley will be kicking at for opal like and Reese
is a very good kicker, sophomore kicker, so he will
kick Dogs, will kick from right to left as we
get this one, underway. As we mentioned, royal tops and
white numbers for the Auburn Tigers, white pants and all
(18:30):
white look for the Bulldogs. A short kick here to
the near side, fair catch called for the twenty five
yard line. Trying to keep that out of Peyton Plott's hands.
He's the dangerous returner for the Tigers, number two, Peyton
Plot five eight, one hundred and fifty five pounds senior.
They'll have to keep their eyes on him tonight on
the field to play for sure.
Speaker 6 (18:47):
All right.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Defensive lineup TJ Thomas like Jaki like foot pleek off,
tream Tomorrow Smiley up front, ty Hudson and Tyler Moore.
The backers Court Ingram and Devin Dixon. The corners Carson Moss,
Tyres Pitts and Kiving King.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
The safeties.
Speaker 2 (19:05):
Line of scrimmage for the Tigers will be there on
twenty five yard line. They'll start out with trips receivers
to the left end of two receivers to the right.
It'll be a five wide look here Jackson Kilgore the
senior quarterback. We'll work an empty backfield here on first down,
drops back looks quick throw here near side, caught at
the thirty yard line, trying to turn it up field
and a forced out of bounds there by the Bulldog
(19:27):
defense that was hauled in by number five. That's Cash
Reef Tyler Moore there on the stop for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
About a four and a half yard game to be fined.
First five minutes of the game, crucial.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
To the thirty yard line here, second down in five,
another quick throw here near side and just typ roping
the sidelines. They'll say he was able to stay in
right at the thirty four yard line, so a four
yard pickup, and it's going to be third and short.
Speaker 6 (19:55):
So thurd and short.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Here we go, trying to get the ball out quickly
out of Jackson Kilgore's hands here to start this game.
He'll line up now with Mabson to his right, the
tailback and everybody bunched in tight chass played to Mabson
here near side. Madson's got the first down. He carries
it up to the thirty nine yard line, and that's
a pickup a close to four yards. Ty Hudson is
in there on the stop for the Bulldogs. They will
(20:20):
give him the thirty nine yard line, so actually the
thirty eight scoring three yard pickup there for Madson.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Secondary give him quite so much cushion over here on
those passes.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
We need to stop.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
First down, man Mabson, a two hundred ninety pounds junior tailback,
stands at five to nine, low snapped to Kilgore, drops back,
throws across the middle. Caught, but Tyler Moore is there
to greet him at the line of scrimmage. He came
in there and laid down Peyton Plott. A big time
stick there for Tyler Moore. They'll say foreign progress up
to the forty so a two yard pickup. But boy,
(20:53):
Peyton Plott, the star wide receiver for the Tigers, he
paid for that one across the middle.
Speaker 6 (20:59):
Very good, very good.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
Second down to eight for the Tigers. We're just underway
ten fifty eight here in the opening quarter of play.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
Everything's quick. They've been throwing.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Here's a hand off to Mabson trying to work the
left side. He gets swallowed up in the backfield, bounces
it outside, but he's cut down on the far side.
He's gonna lose some big time yardags there as he
was tackled by Carson mass The linebacker comes over and
that's a big time loss setting up a third down,
and looks like fourteen coming up here for the Tiger.
Speaker 6 (21:26):
That was beautiful third and fourteen.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
That was a five yard loss. Back to the thirty
five and it'll be third down and fifteen coming up
here for the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
Gotta get good pressure, don't let him convert this third
down there one of one.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
It'll be actually third and thirteen line of scrimmage for
the Tigers. They're on thirty five yard line.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Let's see if we get good pass rush from our
fore front guys.
Speaker 2 (21:54):
Three wide to the right side pump fake Kilgore wants
to go back left and it is taught by Mabson
near midfield at the four eight yard line, and that
is enough for a first down or actually right at
the first down marker. It's gonna be close. I think
he's short, is he sure? Short by a yard? So
we'll see if coach Etrids wants to go a throwback,
(22:14):
well designed play there and they're gonna go for it here.
Fourth and one has that play picked up eleven close
to eleven yards right at twelve yards and it's about
a fourth and one. It's a long one though, so
coach Ethergs and company rolling the dice here, fourth down
(22:36):
from their own forty six yard line. Mabson goes in motion.
They give him mAbs and he fumbled the football. Ball
is out. It's a scramble for it. Dogs are saying
they've got it either way. He's gonna be short of
the first down. A big time stand by this Bulldog defense.
Mabson came in motion, dropped the ball, and a scramble
(22:57):
for it, and the Bulldogs are gonna have it at
the Auburn.
Speaker 3 (23:02):
Big play, big big plays.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
Amary Smiley in there to calls that one and come
up with the football.
Speaker 3 (23:10):
Great way to start the game, first five minutes of
the game.
Speaker 2 (23:16):
Well you can hop like for right now. I don't
know if Opalin actually came up with the football. I
believe they did. Yeah, so you can put that down
as a turnover as a Mary did come up with
the football.
Speaker 6 (23:27):
All Right, we got.
Speaker 9 (23:28):
Tralon Thomas, Efferson, Jackson, Lee, Davis Whitlow, David Miller up front,
Bennett Young, Blake Johnson, Kobe Keith Cavin, Hugh Lee, Brody Jones,
and Jamar Miller head it off.
Speaker 6 (23:41):
Here we go, man, all.
Speaker 2 (23:43):
Right, Bulldogs with the football, they'll be at the Auburn
forty six yard line and there is an official time
out on the field. Coach Morris really hot about something,
and I'm not a frustrated with the ball getting in
(24:03):
or getting out. I'm not sure Macat got any idea.
Speaker 6 (24:07):
Yeah, they're changing the footballs here.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
We got it. We got it all right, ma'am. A
krack can giving us our four seasons. Federal Credit Union
Sideline reports today Bulldogs have it in Tiger territory. It'll
actually be the forty seven yard line first and ten
Dogs going from right to left, and it'll be Kobe
Key out of the shotgun. He's got Calvin Hugley play action.
Key wants to throw flushed out of the pocket on
(24:29):
the run, throws it and it is incomplete and there
is a flag down near the line of scrimmage. Tigers
were bringing some pressure on the sophomore quarterback there. Kobe
did a nice job avoiding the rush and throwing that
one away. But could be a holding call against the
Bulldogs here, and that will be tough. And if you
(24:49):
got that good feel position, that'll put you behind the
chains right off the bat, and it is a hold
against the Bulldogs. So that ten yard penalty will back
things up up all the way to the up like
a forty three yard line verse in twenty dogs going
(25:11):
trying to get the Tigers biting on going to the
air there pistol look here from the Tigers, are from
the Bulldogs. Rather Kolbe keep changing his play at the
line of scrimmage, it'll be first and twenty dogs from
their own forty three yard line. A flag comes in.
Somebody moved proud getting to the bulldogs. He's got to
(25:33):
be first and twenty five coming up now for the dogs.
Now what you want to do with good field position?
I know, coach or will you were really upset dogs
now from their own thirty eight yard line said, can't.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Get it all back at one time. Man, Let's try
to pick it down there.
Speaker 6 (25:58):
Let's see what we.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Can do here backfield now man in motion, Kobe Key
will just jump it off here nearside trying to get
to the Punjamari Miller tried to turn it up field,
got face mask at the forty yard line and there
comes the flag in. That was a big time face
mask over here on the near side. They about twisted
his helmet all the way around and finally the flag
comes in and that should be a fifteen yarder and
that will help get some of this yardage.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
Back, Yes, sir, great play.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Well, Michael Gunn on the stop on Miller, and we'll
get the official call here from the white hat hard
sellout here at Duck Centford tonight.
Speaker 6 (26:39):
Oh man, what.
Speaker 3 (26:40):
A time, boy, that's great, great time for this to happen.
Speaker 6 (26:46):
Now we're back to second and eight.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yeah, back to the forty five Wauburn. Now after that penalty,
and as coach mentioned, it looks like a second and
eight coming up here. Seven forty eight remaining here in
this opening quarter of play. Kobe Key checking the sidelines,
cal and huge Woolly the tail back to the left,
three wide to the right, and no wide receiver here
to the near side of the field. Wide side is
the right side. That's where those three wide receivers are
(27:09):
lined up. And Key will throw one out to Washington.
He's got the catch of the forty five, stays on
his feet at the forty three and lunges ahead down
to the forty yard line, so Jalen will pick up
close to five yards and that will make this a
very manageable third down coming up. As that was a
five yard pickup to Jalen Washington. B J McGhee on
(27:30):
the stop for the Tigers.
Speaker 6 (27:31):
Here's your first third down conversion.
Speaker 2 (27:36):
Tiger's a good sound defense led by skill long time
defensive coordinator Scott Goulsbry. They don't make many mistakes and
they fly around to the football.
Speaker 6 (27:42):
Made about four yards man, and this is.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
A second down actually in five here, quick hand off
inside of the boy. What a move by Jamari Miller
inside the thirty spins around of the twenty eight and
just tripped up on the play. First down. B J
McGhee a touchdown saving stuff as that was a little
shuffle pass ahead to Jamari Miller and he nearly broke it.
How many yards you get on that van It's like
(28:09):
a twelve yard pickup as they market down to the
twenty eight yard line. Lambert transfer and storage. First down,
white out on either side. Hugely remains a tail back.
Hugly gets the hand off, he's hit at the line
of scrimmage, spins his way down close to the twenty
seven yard line. Greg Williams on the stop. Hugly just
(28:32):
gained a yard on that one to the twenty seven
second down to nine coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (28:39):
I do better, Nap, Gotta run the ball a little
bit better that now, come on, boys, just joining us.
Speaker 2 (28:43):
The Tigers got it near midfield, went forward on fourth
and won, fumbled the football, and the Bulldogs, after getting
a couple of penalties, got a big one on the
Tigers in there. Set up here at the twenty seven
of Auburn. Here's a handoff here to Calvin. He's just
tripped up in the backfield. Greg Williams on the stop.
(29:03):
That was actually Jordan Waits on the carry there for
the Bulldogs. Calvin back in the ball game now in
this third down play coming up, it's gonna be third
and nine, third.
Speaker 3 (29:11):
And nine, second third down conversion.
Speaker 6 (29:16):
They got it on the first one.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
All right. He time out on the field. We'll step
aside as well. Bulldog's driving a big third down coming up.
Scoreless game, first quarter. We're back after this right here
on the kicker back here to Bulldog. Back here to
Duck Sandford. A third and seven play. Here's Kobe on
an option. He's tripped up in the backfield, his helmet
came off, stays on his steam and the play should
be blown dead, right at the thirty yard line is
(29:41):
where Cobe was tripped up in the backfield and his
helmet snatched off. No face mass there. I think it
just popped off cleanly.
Speaker 6 (29:49):
About a three yard loss.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Colewn Kobe comes out of the game since his helmet
came off, and CJ. Sank will stay in there. Looks
like the Dogs well ten the field goal here at
the thirty yard line would Yeah, that'd be a long
field goal four than twelve.
Speaker 6 (30:09):
So c J.
Speaker 2 (30:10):
Sankey will stay in the ball game or it come
into the ball game at quarterback. Since Kobe's helmet went off.
Two receivers to the right side, seeker receiver to the
left side. Hugley is the tailback. So here's Sanky moving
a man in motion the big fullback Blake Johnson, and
movement there by the Bulldogs. I thought a tiger may
(30:32):
have jumped in the neutral zone. All right, timeout was
actually taken. I think a timeout taken by Opelaika here,
so head down on the field. Four seasons Federal Credit
Union sideline report. Mac McCracken standing by a mag decision
time here.
Speaker 8 (30:47):
Yeah, coach didn't see something that he didn't like, so
he burned that time out right there.
Speaker 6 (30:53):
I don't know what they're gonna draw up here.
Speaker 8 (30:54):
I mean, you're in the thirty yard line, you know,
just going back and forth right now. A lot of
nerves going to eat both both sides. So you know,
either you could, you know, go for it and just
you know, rely on your defense or a little quick
hick here try to pin them down inside the ten.
Speaker 6 (31:08):
So oh no, let's let's see what coach Moore decides
to do. Guys.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
All right, well, it looks like the punting unit got
called off the field there, so I think the Bulldogs
are going to keep the offense out there as CJ
sank you a sophomore quarterback. Both quarterback sophomores, and it
looks like CJ will head back out and the Dogs
will go for it. This is a fourth down and
(31:33):
thirteen or twelve at the Auburn thirty yard line. See
what coach Moore and company draw up here. Huge Lee
is the tailback, I wipe out either side. Blake Johnson
is the fullback. Sankey checks the sidelines and gets his call. CJ,
(31:53):
with a hard count, checks the sidelines again. Here play
clock winding down zero and may just be trying to draw.
Speaker 3 (32:05):
Aside four five and then they're gonna punt. Okay, yeah,
move them back five. That's okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
Here comes the punting team on the field. Cam Rayley.
Speaker 6 (32:16):
It's okay, smart, smart play.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
The punter comes out.
Speaker 6 (32:19):
We need to down this thing now. If you got
the ten yard.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Line, yeah, pin them back and get this defense. Zion
Henderson handles the punting duties for the Bulldogs. They senior
five to ten, two hundred and thirty pounder. He stands
just on the other side of the fifty yard line
at the Auburn High forty eight yard line. Good snap,
good clean boot high well though I think that's gonna
sell zone. Will into the end zone, so too much
(32:46):
leg on that one there by Zion Henderson and the
Tigers will have the football at the twenty yard line.
Speaker 6 (32:52):
Is pumped up, Dan he was.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
It is the first quarter of action here, scoreless game.
Both teams come up empty on their first offensive possessions.
Four point thirty seven left here in the.
Speaker 6 (33:05):
First first quarters flown by hat.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
He certainly has coachyah leave Harbor will have it from
their own twenty yard line.
Speaker 3 (33:16):
And they made a bunch of yards throwing early see
what we're gonna do.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Here, Jackson kill Gore out of the shotgun. Pump theyk
left another throwback. It's caught by plot dangerous guys tripped
up at the twenty five yard line, gets stopped there
by Ty Hudson. So a five yard pickup and boy,
you'll take a five yard pickup when Peyton plots the
guy catching the football. But it will be a second
down and five for the Tigers.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
Yeah, they're five or five.
Speaker 2 (33:44):
Kill Gore really getting the ball out quickly. He's out
of the shotgun. Here. Omar Mabson, the tailback, gets the
play on a toss play left side down that Auburn sidelines.
He's pushed out of bounds and he will have enough
for a first down. They'll mark him at the thirty
four Devin Dick sitting runs him out of bounds. That
was a nine yard run there for Omar Mabson, first
(34:13):
down Auburn. Couple of good plays here for the Tigers.
First and ten. Kilgore out of the shot gun from
his own thirty four option play. Kill Gore keeps it
hit right for out of two yard pickup on the play.
It's a good job Ty Hudson and there on the
stop for the Tigers along with Tyler Moore, both linebackers.
Speaker 6 (34:33):
That's about four. They can let him run the ball.
Speaker 2 (34:36):
Van Yeah, that was good for a out of four
yard pickup. That's the second out play. Here is Mabson
here near side. He's tackled down at the forty one
yard line. Good tackle on the play by Kiev and King.
Speaker 6 (34:54):
They we got hail them.
Speaker 2 (34:58):
Third down to two coming up for the Tiger, says
that carry came up to the forty two yard line
for a four yard pickup.
Speaker 6 (35:06):
Boy, we could get them here. This would be big yep.
Speaker 2 (35:09):
Third and short here for the Tigers from their own
forty two toss play here near side Mabsen, it's got
the first down across midfield, still on his feet at
the forty thirty five thirty tiptoes the sidelines and he
has gone ten five touchdown. Omar Mabson. Good running by
the big fellow there twenty nine. Omar Mabson, the junior
(35:32):
and he's running the football pretty good tonight. That was
a fifty eight yard touchdown run by Omar Mabsen and
the Tigers striking first six nothing with two fifty nine
left here in the first quarter point after attempt coming
up here by Joseph Daniel. Good snap down and the
(35:56):
extra point up and it is good. Tigers lead itself
nothing here late first quarter. We're back after this time out.
You're listening to bulldog football here on the kicker. Dogs
on a return well covered by the Tigers just across
the five yard line. Jamari Miller wrapped up at about
the seven yard line, so the Bulldogs are going to
(36:17):
be backed up near the near the Tiger end zone here,
not the starting field position. You won't hear after a
Tiger touchdown. Auburn hints at seven nothing here. Late first quarter,
two thirty eight. Omar Mabson with a fifty eight yard
touchdown run to get the Tigers on the board. So
we'll see Kobe Key come back out to lead the Bulldogs.
(36:41):
They're backed up on their own seven yard line here
first and ten. Key hand off here to Hugly near side.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
Hugly.
Speaker 2 (36:48):
Good run across the fifteenth, Hugly across the twenty five.
Hugly just forced out of bounds near the thirty four
yard line. Big time run and Hugly nearly broke one.
Greg Williams brings him down, hugly it up to the
thirty six yard line. That is a twenty eight yard
pickup and a Lambert transfer in storage first down.
Speaker 6 (37:06):
For super job. That's the way to get out of
the trouble.
Speaker 2 (37:10):
And now come on, big time run there to get
the Bulldogs and breathing room here two seventeen remaining here
in the first quarter, Tiger's lead at seven to nothing.
Key from the thirty sixth snap went over his head
and Calvin Higley falls on into the twenty six yard line.
Speaker 6 (37:27):
Were making these mistakes, Van.
Speaker 2 (37:29):
I'm not sure if that one just didn't get through
Kolby's hands. It didn't look too high.
Speaker 6 (37:33):
It was pretty high. Go Lee. What's that about a
seven yard loss.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Back to the twenty six yard lay it more than that? Yeah,
ten almost ten had a second and twenty coming up
here for the Bulldogs second and twenty one.
Speaker 3 (37:54):
Actually, coach, good gracious lie that boy that really.
Speaker 2 (37:57):
Hurts two white outs to the right side right hugely
the loan back. They'll fake it to hugly throw out
into the flats to the big fellow Blake Johnson. He's
across the thirty five or just gets to the thirty
five yard line before a nice tackle on the big
fellow by Cortes. Crooks comes up and makes a stop
boy a lot of green grass ahead of Blake Johnson,
(38:20):
but he does get it back up to the thirty
five yard line. Nine yards on the play. It'll be
a third and twelve, third and twelve Lake first quarter
here one two remaining two whiteouts either side here for
the Bulldogs. Third and twelve from there on. At thirty four,
Key gets the snap pressure in his face and he
(38:41):
snatch down, stays on his feet somehow rolls to the right,
throws down field, and it's caught at the forty three
yard line. That's gonna be close to a first down.
Speaker 6 (38:50):
Now, they didn't call a face mask on that, did they?
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Thank you man got him by the shoulder, pats man,
my stuff, and it is still fourth and short. But
a nice job Kobe Keta keep his eyes down field.
But it's going to be fourth and four and punting
time for the Bulldogs. Got eight yards on the play.
Zion Henderson comes in to punt this one away.
Speaker 6 (39:14):
Well, we can't we just we can't have plays.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Those negative plays, A couple of negative plays just killed us.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
Here's the snap to Henderson boots this one away. It
hits at the thirty yard line and will take an
open like a good roll inside the twenty and it's
going to roll all the way down close to the
fifteen yard line with job. So that is a forty
two yard punt there by Zion Henderson. So good, John
flipping the field.
Speaker 6 (39:40):
Good. That's a thirty six er and a forty two.
Good job by Zion.
Speaker 2 (39:44):
And just thirty four seconds left here in this first
quarter of play, Auburn leads at seven to nothing. Then
they'll start from there on sixteen yard line. It's where
they'll have it first and ten.
Speaker 6 (39:54):
All right, we can't we can't allow these long runs.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Need a defensive turnover here, Coach Nice already one would
love to have another here. Kill Gore out of the shotgun,
brings a man in motion from right to left and
kill Gore quarterback keeper straight up the middle. No gain
on the play. I think he lost the yard he did.
Amari Smiley greets kill Gore there and he loses one
(40:20):
back to the fifteen. This will be second down and
eleven coming up. Great play as the game clock winds
under twenty seconds left here in the first quarter. Tremaine
Thomas also in there on the stop. See if the
Tigers want to get one last playoff under ten, where
they get this snap off, they will Kill Gore fakes
(40:40):
the toss, throws back to the twenty eight lost the ball,
they'll say incomplete at the twenty eight yard line, tried
to get into cash reef and that was the final
play of the quarter. Seven nothing. Tigers with the lead
as we head to the second quarter. But Auburn's going
to be facing a third down when we come back
here listening to the Bulldog football here on the kicker.
(41:03):
Big third down coming up here for this opal like
a defense the crowd or the opal like a coaching
staff trying to get the Bulldog crowd to get on
their feet here because the Tigers are facing a third
and ten from their own sixteen yard line. And see
if the Dogs this will be a huge stop here,
if this defense could come up with one here.
Speaker 6 (41:24):
Yep, you right about that gots you a better job,
It gets.
Speaker 2 (41:29):
The run maps it will stay in the ball game.
Here on this third down and ten, he's to the
left of Kill Gore. Tigers lead at seven to nothing
as we start the second quarter, they are facing a
third and ten for their own sixteen. Kill Gore drops
back throws across the middle, got a guy at the
thirty yard line at the thirty five first down catch
my number seven, Josh ask You found him across the middle.
(41:53):
Then swink on the stop for the Bulldogs. But that's
a big time throwing catch. On third down, gets up
to the thirty seven yard line, and that is a
twenty one yard throwing ketch there from kil Gore as
he finds Josh ask You, and he had a lot
of time to throw, no pressure on him at all
on that third day, first and ten Tiger's from there
on thirty seven and said option play quarterback keeps it,
(42:16):
rolls right, stays on his feet, and he's going to
be hemmed up at the forty right at the thirty
nine yard lines. T Remain Thomas on the stop short
pick up there for the quarterback kill Gore. Not much
running room there for him on that play. He's second
down in eight up to the thirty nine yard line
(42:41):
line of scrimmage. Here on this second down and eight
play for the Tigers, kill Gore brings a man in
motion quick throw far side as Reef trying to get
the sidelines, but pull down from behind at the forty
four yard line. Has a good stop there, five yard pickup. Hey,
(43:01):
gonna set up a third down and four. Warner McDonald, Oh,
that hold it. We got a time out on the
field here, Norman Matthews actually the junior and on that
stop there for the Bulldogs. By the time out on
(43:21):
the field, will take a quick time out. You're listening
to Bulldog football. Stop all right? Out of the time out.
Here Tiger is facing a third and four from their
own thirty four yard line.
Speaker 6 (43:34):
A big This is huge right here, Van.
Speaker 2 (43:37):
This is more of a third and three. Tiger's from
their own forty four yard line. Kill gore out of
the shot and go, and I gotta feel a mister
Mabson maybe getting the football here.
Speaker 6 (43:45):
We'll see you.
Speaker 2 (43:47):
Gotta respect the running the Killgore though. He will pull
it and run it.
Speaker 6 (43:50):
Yeah, he's a good quarterback.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
It certainly is. Senior six foot, one hundred and ninety
five pounder. He gets it, tosses it out to Mabson.
Mabson's got the first down and more across the forty
five and he's down to the forty one yard line.
mAbs in another tough run. Keevi and King coming up
there making the stop on Omar Mabsen now marking down.
Speaker 6 (44:12):
At the.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Said the forty one yard line. It's a fifteen yard
run by Omar Mabsen and a flag on the play.
Speaker 6 (44:21):
They called it off. I think they called it on
our sideline.
Speaker 2 (44:24):
I think so. Sideline warning, Yeah, sideline warning against Opalaika.
Speaker 6 (44:37):
Now they're taking it to us van.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
Yeah, they're controlling the line of scrimmage right now.
Speaker 6 (44:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
They're edge players. We're getting beat on the edge. We're
not getting beat up the middle. We're getting beat on
the edge. They blocking us, and we've got to stop them.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Man in motion from left to right, dropping back his
kill gore, he dumps it down to the flats to
reef across the forty and out of bounds at the
thirty nine yard line. A flag comes in. I think
that may be a hold on the tigers.
Speaker 6 (45:03):
That's going to be a holding. Pimphy haul.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
Devin Dixon comes up, makes the style let's sit down
for a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report. Mac
McCracken standing.
Speaker 8 (45:10):
By, Hey, you guys have Pensiltina over there with the
offensive coordinator J. D. Atkins still staying calm, cool and
Klegg just trying to tell you that, guys, just we're
going to execute a little bit better, but making some
mistakes and you know, everything will be all right. And
defensively here, you're right, Dad, there's nothing really up the middle.
Speaker 6 (45:26):
That's well.
Speaker 8 (45:27):
Speed it outside on that edge we're getting outside of us.
Speaker 6 (45:29):
Yeah, they're made. They're throwing it out there blocking us.
And when we got to come up quicker in the secondary.
Speaker 2 (45:35):
All right, this will be a big penalty on the Tigers.
Who buys them back to the forty seven yard line.
Speaker 6 (45:42):
That's a holding Pimphy, wasn't it? Okay?
Speaker 2 (45:45):
So this will be a first down and long now
for the Tigers. The first almost sixteen yards to go here,
Kilgore drops backs, got all Day throws across the middle.
It is caught by Plot at the thirty eight yard line,
forced out of bounds by Carson Moss. Kind of gets
some pressure on this quarterback.
Speaker 6 (46:02):
Coach.
Speaker 2 (46:02):
It just got all Day back there.
Speaker 6 (46:04):
You're right, you're right. What's that about an eight yard game?
Speaker 2 (46:10):
Not quite six yards? Second down in ten, kil Gore
has an empty backfield. Two white outs to the right,
single receiver to the left side. Late substitution comes in.
It's on War Mabsen checking back. In the ball game,
he'll line up to the left of kill Gore. Tigers
lead at seven to nothing and on the move with
the bulldog forty one yard line, second and ten. Kil
(46:33):
Gore gets the snap, hands it to Mabson, bounces that right,
cuts it inside. Mabsen cut down at the thirty five
yard line. I think at the thirty four. But that
was a seven yard run by Mabson. Carson Moss on
the stop and another third down and short coming up
here for the Tigers.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
Third down and about four third and three, third and three,
but this is two down territory for them.
Speaker 6 (47:00):
Absolutely, I'd go for I'd go for it both times.
Speaker 2 (47:03):
Mabsen comes out, Charlie Ward checks in the game of
the tailback spot. He'll go out of the shot gun
and option play. They'll give it to Ward. He's wrapped
up Malik Autrees there gets him back of the thirty
six yard line. That is a three two yard loss.
I'll say one yard loss back to the thirty five
and it will be fourth down. We'll see offense stay
(47:24):
and put Auburn always with a good kicker, but the
offense stays on the field here on fourth and five.
Speaker 6 (47:35):
Oh, this is huge, man.
Speaker 2 (47:37):
That's fourth and four thirty one is where he'll need
to get for the first down, and he's gonna Poots
punt it the quarterback. But as stoppage and play though,
they blew the whistle before and I believe tabut the
lay a game or a time out, So a timeout
taken by Auburn and that was their first so time
(47:59):
out on the field. Back after this thirty second time out,
Tiger's lead at seven to nothing, and you're listening to
bulldog football here on the kicker l a fourth down
coming up here for the Tigers. They were lining up
to Poots punted and Auburn taking a time out, and
(48:19):
they're at the thirty five yard line of Opelaika facing
this fourth down and four. Actually at the thirty five yard.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
Line Opelika had we have not had the ball the
whole quarter.
Speaker 2 (48:30):
Well, they're not Poots punting now, coach.
Speaker 6 (48:32):
They are lining up to go for it here. Well,
we got to get a stop here.
Speaker 2 (48:37):
Madson is in the ball game, lining up to the
right kill Gore drops back it's got time again. Flushed
out of the pocket, steps up, chase down and turns
it upfield, tight ropes the sidelines, and he's got the
first down down inside the thirty down around the twenty
six yard line. Boy, he almost was wrapped up in
the backfield, not once but twice, but somehow got the
(48:58):
sidelines here on the near side and stayed in bounds
and got the first down. He's a talented quarterback. Yes,
he can make plays.
Speaker 6 (49:06):
Yes, sir, well, that was a big first down.
Speaker 2 (49:11):
Yep. Got ten yards on the scramble and needed four
first down Tigers at the Bulldog twenty five yard line. Killgore.
Now will line up three wide receivers to the right side.
They'll toss it quickly out to Mabsen Madson right side
inside the twenty and a flag comes in, they're going
to get another hold on that far side.
Speaker 6 (49:29):
Yeah, they got a holding on Authur.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Yeah, the wide receiver out holding for Mabsen. He can
toe the rock, Coach McCracken.
Speaker 6 (49:42):
Yes, sir, he's good.
Speaker 2 (49:44):
As a sophomore last year. He came to high school
media days this summer and I told coach Jethard's the
one disappointing news I heard was that Mabsen was just
a junior.
Speaker 6 (49:53):
I remember you talking about him.
Speaker 2 (49:55):
Yeah, he had a special He had a big second
half last year in that game of Bulldog Stadium. That'll
back it up to the thirty one yard line, and
we'll do it again here on first down, so it'll
be first in about eighteenth, Yeah, first and eighteen like that.
Tigers at the dog thirty one. They lead at seven
to nothing. Trying to add to it here on this drive,
kill Gore gets the snap hands into mam, said mams,
(50:17):
and this time hemmed up nicely at the line of scrimmage.
Good stomp in there by Ty Hudson. The linebacker comes
down and makes the play. Defensive line did a good
job of holding that offensive lineup on that one too.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
They are not running between the tackles. They're getting all
their runs on the edge and throwing the ball. Got it,
And you're right, we've got to get a little better
pressure on the quarterback.
Speaker 2 (50:39):
Second down play, kill Gore drops back, steps up in
the pockets, scrambling around, trying to buy some time, rolls
here near side, throws one deep down field picked up
by the Bulldogs up the thirty yard twenty yard line.
Twenty five thirty Hey, big time pick off there by
Keevan King, just what the doctor ordered. Kill Gore got
(51:01):
greedy on that one and threw it across the middle
of the field. And Keevan King was sitting there waiting
on that one as he cut across the field and
picked it off. Bulldogs will have it first and ten
from their own thirty two yard line.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
We got seven thirty nine to go in the half,
and we need to move the ball here now. This
is our first play of the second quarter. They've kept
the ball eight minutes.
Speaker 2 (51:27):
Bulldogs first and ten for their own thirty two. After
that big interception by Keevi and King, Blake Johnson, the
big fullback moves in motion. They'll give it to Calvin.
Calvin right up the middle and Calvin across the thirty
five Calvin toting that rock up to the thirty seven
yard line. Caleb Pitts comes up and makes the stop.
Five yards on the ground there by, Calvin Hugley make
(51:50):
that six yards on the ground Calvin. They're gonna mark
that one up close to the thirty eight yard line.
Good run there by Calvin. Second down and four here
for the Bulldogs, Colby Key checking. They open like a
sideline huglely the tail back to the left of Colby.
(52:12):
Keith Johnson moves in motion. Now they'll give it to
Blake Johnson, the big fullback. He's off across the forty
five up to the forty seven yard line. Lambert transfer
and storage first down. Lemichael Gunn makes the stop for
the Tigers. But a big time run by the full back.
He gets close to eight yards on that Lambert transfer
(52:33):
in storage first down run to the forty six yard line.
Excellent the Dogs. They're on forty six trailing. Here's seven nothing.
But trying to answer as we're playing on the second quarter.
Six forty four left in this first half. Key hands
the ball off, good run left side up near midfield.
Speaker 6 (52:52):
I'll tell you what we can do, Van. We can
run right at these guys.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
They can't run right at us, but we can run
right at film between the tackles.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
Up to midfield. Four yards on the ground by Calvin Hugley.
Alex Gamston on the stop for the Tigers. Buldogs are
at midfield now moving from left to right, trailing by touchdown.
Here's seven to nothing. Six thirteen left in this first half.
Speaker 6 (53:16):
Got plenty of time.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
Key out of the shotgun, key option play and Key
hands it off to Calvin Calvin down the sideline, so
across the thirty five. Calvin is down close to the
thirty three yard line. Alex Gamston brings him down another
Lambert transfer in storage, first down, another big time run
close to twelve yards for the big Fella, Calvin Hugley, Darius.
Speaker 6 (53:36):
Whiplong, David Miller, Jackson Lee leading the way.
Speaker 2 (53:41):
He'll mark it at the thirty six yard line, and
there's an official timeout on the field. Dogs on the
move here trying to tie this one up. Seven nothing,
Tigers five point fifty nine left here in this first half.
We're back after this thirty second break here on the
kicker boy. Some good hard running by Calvin Hugley trying
(54:07):
to answer here after a big interception by this Bulldog defense,
Keevi and King picks it off. Set the Dogs up
at the thirty two after Auburn was looking to maybe
go up by two scores, and now it's the Bulldog's driving.
They're down to the Tiger thirty six yard line. First
and ten has.
Speaker 6 (54:23):
Two turnovers for Auburn and none for.
Speaker 2 (54:26):
US five point fifty nine left here in this first half,
key out of the shotgun. Jordan Wakes in the ballgame
at the tailback position to the right. Waits, he'll get
the hand off. Waits good block. Waits cuts it at
the thirty and Waits is tripped up at the twenty
seven yard line. Isaac Benford on the stop, eight yards,
(54:52):
aren't shake that close to four yards?
Speaker 6 (54:53):
Four yards? Five plays for almost thirty five.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
Yards, fall down to the twenty seven yard line. It'll
be second down and seven. Those three yard pickup there,
they say. Calvin gets the handoff in the backfield, Calvin
is hit, stays on his feet, and Calvin battles his
way to the twenty five yard line. He picks the
two yards, but he almost lost a couple as he
was hitting the backfield.
Speaker 6 (55:23):
We got we have two down territory here, Van.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Hello, Michael Gunn on the stop. I think they can
still hammer third down four here for the Dogs. Two
white outs to the right side. They're at the tiger
twenty six. Now Kobe Kee will check the sidelines. Calvin
Hugly is the tailback heading in towards that Auburn student
(55:47):
section and they're on their feet. Two white outs right
side here for Ki. Ki gets the snap, fakes it
to hugely rolls right, throws near side, it is caught.
Bennett Young's got it tripped up at the fifteen yard line.
That's a Blambert transfer in storage. First down at the
fifteen yard line. Bj McGee comes in on the stop
ten yards on that throwing catch and that is a
(56:10):
good sight to see Bennett Young, I know, probably beat
himself up after that bumble last week. And a good
grab there by the youngster.
Speaker 6 (56:16):
Got a first down.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
Great job, I ben itt I formation old school. Look
here for the Dogs.
Speaker 6 (56:23):
First, you know they got the big full back in there.
Speaker 2 (56:26):
And is Calvin Hugley dot in the eye here? First
and ten at the fifteen yard line, they give it
the big fullback. He's inside the ten. Blake's on his
feet inside the five.
Speaker 6 (56:33):
He's getting the in zone touch down the Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (56:36):
The big fellow Jackson Lee pancakes. Somebody lead blocking for
him as well, and he's fired up as he should be.
What a play Blake Johnson. He just man his way
into the end zone, got his own thirty.
Speaker 6 (56:50):
Six Felly Darling right off tackle.
Speaker 2 (56:55):
Awesome, A fifteen yard run and that is a statement
drive by this gold offense. Here's Reese Beasley for the
point after the whole is Brody Jones. Cam Railey will
handle the snapping duties. Good snap down and Beasley's extra
(57:18):
point up and good that score and drive. Power by
our friends and open like a power services hometown people
working for you, coach. I think that's a seventy eight
yard scoring drive, is it not? How about that seven
seven four minutes to go here in the first half,
big time drive by the Bulldogs. We're back after this
time out here on the kicker, fifteen yard touchdown run
(57:46):
by the big fullback Blake Johnson, and he ties this
game up seven seven rees. Beasley lining up to kick
it off for the Bulldogs, kicking from left to right.
Four minutes left here in this first half. A short
kick far side of the field and it is fielded
and tackled, made at the thirty seven yard line. A
good stop there, pile of the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (58:07):
Brody Jones, ah wait, I hate we give him that
much field position though.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
You know, I tell you what, coach, if you see
number two on film, if he catches it, oh yeah,
he is hard to him up and I know they're
trying to keep that away from him. Yeah, okay, thirty
seven yard line will be the starting field position.
Speaker 6 (58:25):
Here, got three point fifty six left man so first
and ten here.
Speaker 2 (58:30):
Four of the Tigers all Jackson killgore out of the shot,
going actually going under center here with Mabson.
Speaker 6 (58:37):
Yeah, I think they're gonna try to run him a
little bit now.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
Yeah, a little pistol, not a pistol look, but the
old pro formation here Mabson right side, Mabson up to
the forty five down to the up to the forty
five yard line. Tyree Pitts makes the stop of eight
yards here and Auburn lining up trying to play a
little big man football too.
Speaker 6 (58:56):
We can't, we can't, we can't let them do this here. Now,
this is the last five minutes of a half man.
We got to play on tails off.
Speaker 2 (59:04):
Right here, three eighteen left here in the first half again,
mabsit now in the whole school life formation. Play action,
pressure comes on, the quarterback throws it away down field,
wide open at the forty eight yard line, down the
sidelines thirty five and tackle down at the twenty nine
yard line. Boy Kilgore and the pressure coming down on him.
(59:24):
Tyree Fitz makes the touchdown saving stop as cash reef
was all alone down the sidelines, and now the Tigers
are set up at the thirty yard line. That's a
twenty five yard pickup. First and ten at the Bulldog
thirty yard line. Can't let them score quick here, Oh lady,
that was a great play by the man in motion.
(59:44):
They'll get it on the speed sweep tackled at the
twenty five yard line. About a five yard pickup there.
Ty Hudson makes the stop.
Speaker 6 (59:55):
Three, gotta have a stop right here too.
Speaker 2 (59:58):
Forty left in the first half or not up at
seven here, second and seven down to the twenty five
yard line. It'll be second out in six. They'll give
it to Mabson. Tries to go right up the gut.
Good hole. He's down to the fifteen yard line. Boyd
Carson Moss save that one. Mabson almost took that one
(01:00:20):
to the house. First down, Tigers right at the Bulldog
sixteen yard line. That was nine yards right up the gut.
Speaker 6 (01:00:28):
Coach, Well, we got to do better. Got to do
better on here.
Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
Kilgore toss play to Mabson, far side of the field
and he's tripped up. No gain on the play.
Speaker 6 (01:00:38):
I was a no gamer.
Speaker 2 (01:00:39):
Yeah, good job Ty Hudson over there.
Speaker 6 (01:00:42):
My big, big, big, big play.
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
Tremaine Thomas there as well. Opelikah, we'll get the football
to start the second half. This is third down, so
it would be huge to come up with a big
stop here. It's second out in ten, second and ten.
I actually lost the yard there back to the seventeen,
so this will be second out on eleven. Come on,
dog man in motion. Kil Gore will toss it down
(01:01:06):
here near side to Charlie Ward breaks a tackle at
the fifteen, tiptoes the sidelines and he is in for
the touchdown. Boy, I thought he went out of bounds,
but he tight wrote the sidelines and he's got the
Tigers back on the board and up by six. Oh
(01:01:29):
what a tough one there, oh boy. Charlie Ward with
a seventeen yard touchdown run and here's the point after
attempt by Joseph Daniel. The extra point is up and good.
Tiger's back up by seven, fourteen to seven with one
(01:01:52):
thirty five left here in this first half. Dogs trying
to come up with a stop of Charlie Ward, but
the Tigers on the board with a seventeen yard touchdown run.
Auburn leads it down back fourteen to seven. Back up
by seven, and here's a kickoff to the Bulldogs end
over end and it will send Jamari Miller into the
(01:02:14):
end zone for a touchback. So the Dogs will have
it from their own twenty yard line. Not a lot
of time to work with here, just a minute thirty five.
Speaker 6 (01:02:22):
Let's be careful here. We're gonna get the ball to
open the second half, so we gotta we gotta make
sure we.
Speaker 2 (01:02:29):
But boy, if you can score, coach, that'd be nice,
wouldn't it, Yes, sir, So we'll see Colby Key and
the offense come out with not much time to work
with here, just one thirty five remaining.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
You know they had they had fifteen steps from the
second quarter and we had six.
Speaker 6 (01:02:47):
Makes a big difference.
Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
Kobe Key will line up four wide receivers to the
right side of the field, a single receiver to the
left side, so a five wide look here for Colby Key.
On first and ten. Kee will throw it to Miller
and it is red right off. Miller is brought down
in the backfield back to the fifteen yard line. I
think Ford progress will him him up for just a
(01:03:09):
couple of yards on the loss. Alex Gamson read that
one good back to the seventeen yard line, So this
will be around a second and thirteen coming up now
for the Bulldogs. Like the play call there, but that
was just a good job by Auburn pinning their ears
back on that one. Game clock continues to wind now
(01:03:31):
under a minute to go fourteen seven again, Tiger's with
the lead dogs from their own thirteen yard line. Here's
a hand off to Calvin Hughgley and Hugly is going
to be wrapped up and quickly. Coach Ethard's comes in
and calls a time out. Michael Foster on the stop
and that'll stop the clock with forty four seconds left
and coach Etthard's going to try to get this football
(01:03:52):
back here late in the first half. Oh wow, well
that was a good play defensively there on. Jamari Miller
had a lot of blockers out there. But Tigers pinned
their ears back and read that one, and that really
put Opalaka behind the things in a second and thirteen
and they.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
Got one time out. They got both timeouts left they
got two. They've only used one.
Speaker 2 (01:04:17):
Correct, that's right, number two. Now, I said, now, Matt
mccrack is, stand if I with the four Seasons Federal
Credit Union Sideline report.
Speaker 8 (01:04:24):
Mac Well, I was kind of guy that one kind
of was a gut gut punch right there.
Speaker 6 (01:04:29):
I mean, you go down there and run the football,
you know. Coach J. D.
Speaker 8 (01:04:32):
Atkins told him, he said, I'm gonna lean on you
hogs up front. And I did a tremendous job right
there and scored and then you know, we kind of
a little spip boots kick right there and they got
about the thirty seven yard line and then just decided
to run maps and and you know, just the good
old you know, Coach Etheris, I'm sure was thinking, what.
Speaker 6 (01:04:49):
Was gonna run it here?
Speaker 8 (01:04:50):
And if we end up popping some we're gonna end
up going, you know, uh, trying to score a touchdown.
And that's what happened. And that's just a momentum killer.
And right here, we got to be really smart here
and or they're gonna get the ball. We've got to
be smart guys.
Speaker 6 (01:05:01):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:05:02):
Third and thirteen side on the Forts brought to you
by Four Seasons Federal Credit Union and key out of
the shotgun here on third and thirteen from the seventeen
quick handoff Calvin nice hole for a moment there, Butmichael
Gunn comes up and cuts him down right at the
sixteen yard line and may have lost another yard and
(01:05:24):
quickly coach Etharids comes in and calls us final time out.
Speaker 6 (01:05:27):
It's doing good on the plane.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
With forty seconds left here in this second quarter, we'll
take a quick time out here. Listen to the Bulldog
football here on the kicker, Bulldogs will have to send
on the punting unit here on fourth down, the Tigers
will try to get a good return. They'll send their
dangerous or turnman Peyton Plot back so very key here
(01:05:52):
for a good snap by Cam Railey and a good
punt here by Zion Henderson.
Speaker 6 (01:05:57):
Well we got it, you know. They've chewed us up
on on plays run and they're fixing.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
To get the ball back now and we've got to
recover this.
Speaker 2 (01:06:06):
Good man Anderson from the four yard line. But it's
a high, big time kick and that will send Plot
back to the thirty five. He lost it, picked it
up at the thirty five and he's brought down to
the thirty four yard line. Good tackle downfield by Brody Jones,
And that was an awesome punt and a great job
covering Peyton Plott there by the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (01:06:28):
Great job, great job. How far was that punt? Van?
Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
See the line of scrimmy is about sixty wasn't it?
Forty nine yards?
Speaker 6 (01:06:42):
Forty nine yards? Super They got thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (01:06:50):
So the Tigers will line up from their own thirty
four yard line, first down and ten and just forty
seconds to work with. Here, they're going to the air,
dropping back as kill Gore rolls to his right, tries
to look down field, steps up and will take off
and run, and he's finally forced down the bounds at
around the forty yard line as ty Hudson was able
(01:07:13):
to get him out of bounds. He'll stop the clock
with twenty two seconds left up to the forty they'll
mark him up to the forty six yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:07:25):
So gain a seven.
Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
Eight hight ad it, yeah, blinde of scrimmage the forty
one here on second down and three, kill Gore drops back,
tried to throw it the plot nearly intercepted by the Bulldogs. Boy,
that one almost got in and out of the hands
of Carson Moss incomplete here, third and four with seventeen
(01:07:50):
seconds left, Tigers from their on forty one yard line.
We're late first half, Tigers leading fourteen to seven and
trying to take some shots here. Coach Ethige being very
aggressive with his one touchdown lead seventeen seconds.
Speaker 6 (01:08:05):
Yeah, they just want to get in field goal rangs.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
I belive five wide. Look here Mabson is lined up
out in here as a wide receiver. They'll think it
to him. It's a throwback screen and read beautifully by
the Bulldogs. That was a heads up play by Devin Dixon.
He tackled him down to the forty yard line and
five seconds remaining, and Coach Moore, I think's gonna let
the clock wind on down and take it to the
(01:08:29):
locker room. He is fourteen to seven, Auburn with the lead,
but a hard fought ball game on both sides. I
know there's certainly some things Coach Moore wants to clean
up with his group. We'll have Mac McCracken standing by,
visiting with coach Moore as he heads into the locker room. Here,
Coach Moore getting his headset hung up here talking to
(01:08:52):
his unit, wanting to run to the locker room as
he heads over here. Halftime again fourteen seven times with
the lead dogs. We'll get the football to start the
second half. Max standing by with Coach Moore.
Speaker 6 (01:09:04):
Thanks, Like Coach Moore thoughts on the first half.
Speaker 5 (01:09:06):
Yeah, I mean two bad drives offensively to start. You know,
we got to settle in. We had some false starts
and a hold. Really the first two drives gave us
nothing to play count within the third drive was really good.
Calvin got going and we ran it. But we gotta
be able to sustain the title possession. You know, I
thought that's the difference in the bag and then had
it too much. We were fined defensively, sat, we left
the quarterback extensive drives.
Speaker 6 (01:09:26):
We got to get him on the ground right there.
Let's get him on the second half. Coach, thanks, Matt all.
Speaker 2 (01:09:30):
Right, thanks so much. That's Coach Brian Moore with back
mccrack in. Four season Federal Credit Union signline reports.
Speaker 6 (01:09:35):
Bob.
Speaker 2 (01:09:35):
By the way, we are coming to you for the
Orthopedic Clinic broadcast booth. That's East Alabama's go to center
for orthopedic care. Two locations, one in Auburn and the
medical Arts Center location in Opelaika. There one twenty one
North twentieth Street in Opalaika onlin at Theworthoclinic dot Com
halftime here at Tiger, I should say at Duck Sandford Stadium.
It is a lead by the Tigers fourteen to seven.
(01:09:56):
We'll have more from the half after this time out.
You're listening to Bulldog football halftime score fourteen to seven.
Auburn High leading right now at the half and a
story of the game so far in the first half
has been really Jackson Kilgore extending plays. The quarterback for
(01:10:20):
Aubert has done really well. Omar Mabsen, though hard to
keep this guy in check. The junior running back for
the Tigers, scored the first touchdown of the game. It
was a fifty eight yarder as he broke a couple
of tackles and got the near sideline here on the
Opelaka sideline and took it to the house. The five nine,
two hundred and ten pounds junior with one touchdown so far,
and then his backup, Charlie Ward, got the seventeen yard
(01:10:41):
touchdown to put the Tigers back in front. Opalalaika, though
tied the game. It was a good run by good
runs by Calvin Hugley chardon yardage down field. But it
was Blake Johnson, the big full bank that got the
fifteen yard touchdown to tie the game before Auburn answered
back with that Charlie Ward touchdown that we made mention
to there, Coach Key, to get a second half tie
(01:11:02):
game here, you get the football to start the second half.
Need a good drive here, put together and need to
tie this game up. Yeah we need to score first, Yeah,
we sure do. And the first five minutes that this
third quarter is going to be crucial, and that you know,
That's about all I have to say.
Speaker 3 (01:11:21):
They got We had eighty eight yards rushing and we
had thirty nine yards passing for ninety five yards of
total offense. And we can do better than that. I
know we can do better than that.
Speaker 2 (01:11:35):
All right, let's ad now. Matt McCracken standing by, I
make you down. There were the four seasons Federal Credit
Union sideline report.
Speaker 6 (01:11:41):
Yeah, we're in there with the huddle there.
Speaker 8 (01:11:42):
Coach Board just got done addressing his kids and just
told them, hey, guys, this has got to come from
within within.
Speaker 6 (01:11:47):
Your hearts play for each other. He goes, well, you know,
us coaches, we want the best for y'all.
Speaker 8 (01:11:52):
It ain't about us. We want we want y'all to
get the win. We want we want you to come
out and do something. He said, it's about the second
half trial. Come out there, and he said, offense, let's
go down there and get some points. But he said, defense,
we've got to start hitting them and making stops. We've
got to start making stops. So he addressed them. They're
all fired up, as you say, they're jumping around, so hey,
(01:12:12):
but you know, here's your first five.
Speaker 6 (01:12:14):
This this, this open drive right here.
Speaker 8 (01:12:16):
Is so important that we get some points here as
a momentum builder. And just just to you know, just
to stay in this one. Everybody's still fired up, pack
packed crowd, guys, let's just let's just give it all.
We got the second half for the boys.
Speaker 6 (01:12:30):
All right.
Speaker 2 (01:12:30):
That's back the crack in four seasons. Federal Credit Union
Sideline report coming to you from the Orthopedic Clinics Broadcast
booth here at Duck Sandford Stadium. We're on the visiting
side looking on a packed house across the way. I
saw a photo of the opal like a side here,
and boy, it is packed on both sides and standing
room only as folks are lined up down the hillsides
on both directions, anywhere you can stand to find a
(01:12:52):
spot into view this one. Folks are lined up. Joseph
Daniel has it teed up. The Tigers will kick pick
left to Jamari Miller. No chance, boy, they kick it
in the end zone. They got a good kicking program
always here at Auburn. They always and Towns Magoo the
star kicker for the Tigers last year kicking at Jorden
Hare Stadium on Saturdays, and.
Speaker 6 (01:13:12):
He was phenomenal to he is.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
He was an outstanding kicker. And I knew when he
went over to Auburn. Boy he you know, got moved
up the rank and you moved up to the starting
roster with with some illness there, you know, with Alex McPherson.
But boys, he's going to be a tough one to
put him on the bench.
Speaker 6 (01:13:31):
All right, Van, We got to make it happen here now.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
Kolby Key and the Bulldog offence out opening drive here
to start the second half. Dogs down by a touchdown
here to start the second half fourteen to seven, Auburn
with the lead. Johnson, the full back will move over
to the right side. Key out of the shotgun here.
On first down, they'll give it to Calvin trying to
run right side. Calvin stays on his feet, hurdles, a
van comes back near sides. Got's a runner across the
thirty five. Calvin down the sidelines, across midfield. Calvin in
(01:13:56):
a foot race at the thirty five and he's put
down from behind at the thirty one yard line. Forty
nine yard run. Michael Gunn with a touchdown saving stop.
That's a heck of a way to start this second half.
Calvin went right, cutback left at a big time run
Calvin Hugley.
Speaker 6 (01:14:15):
Beautiful. That's exactly what we needed.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
Vance and some good blocking there by that offensive line.
Good blocking downfield.
Speaker 6 (01:14:22):
Too, Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
Down to the thirty one yard line. Lambert transfer and storage.
First down to the big fellow. Calvin catching his breath.
He'll stay in there in the backfield here on this
first down play.
Speaker 6 (01:14:34):
Oh, that was that was beautiful. That was absolutely beautiful.
Speaker 2 (01:14:40):
So they'll mark it down at the thirty one yard line.
First and ten here for the Bulldogs. Just underway here
in the second half, trips receivers to the right side
Kolby Key checks the sidelines, changing his play key in
the first half six to seven. Passing just over thirty
yards though through the air, Key gets the handoff back
to Calvin Calvin inside of the only twenty five Calvin
(01:15:01):
ten five touchdown Bulldogs two plays, Calvin Hugly touchdown. What
a start to this second half. Thirty one yard run
by Calvin Hugley forty one thirty one.
Speaker 6 (01:15:17):
Thirty one. Good gracious, I've never seen anything like that.
Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
Blake Johnson with the first touchdown by the Bulldogs in
the first half. Calvin Hugly gets his touchdown on two
big runs. Here's the point after attempt by Rhys Beasley
snapped down. The kick is up and the kick is good.
We're tied up at fourteen. Just took the Dogs two
plays to march it down the field. Fourteen fourteen just
(01:15:49):
underway here in the second half, and we're back after
this thirty second break.
Speaker 7 (01:15:52):
Ninety seven point seven kicker e FM.
Speaker 2 (01:15:58):
Calvin Huglely two plays and he gets in the end
zone on a thirty one yard touchdown run. And it
was a big forty plus yarder that set up that
score and Dogs have tied it up here.
Speaker 6 (01:16:12):
This is a big kickoff right here. Let's see what
kind of adjustment they made.
Speaker 2 (01:16:15):
With rees here eleven twenty two left and there's a
line drive kick, but it'll go out of bounds at
the fifteen yard line. So we'll put the Tigers at
the thirty five. So Auburn will start first and ten
from their own thirty five yard line. Boy, the Bulldog
(01:16:36):
fans got on their feet, and that got some life
back on this side of the stadium here at Duck
Sanford Stadium. Tigers though, with good feel positions starting from
their own thirty five yard line. Mac, I bet the
sideline's pretty fired up down there after that.
Speaker 8 (01:16:50):
Yeah, with the doctor order there, there's two plays right
there for a touchdown. Great job of the line, Great
job by Calvin running. Hey, here's the other part of
Coach's more stop when he stops, when he stops.
Speaker 2 (01:17:02):
Yep, and good field position here for the Tigers. They
don't have it from their own thirty five yard line.
Gotta get to kill Gore. Boy, we hadn't brought him
down all night long, No, we had. He's tough to
him up. He'll start with three wide to the left side.
He's gonna straight drop back, looks throws tipped in the
air and incomplete. Boy, that was a nice job. Ty
Hudson comes over and gets a hand in there and
bats that one in the air. Boy, you wish somebody
(01:17:25):
was there to pick that one.
Speaker 6 (01:17:26):
Off by lay Ty almost got that one.
Speaker 2 (01:17:29):
Okay, second down in ten after that incomplete pass fourteen
fourteen eleven seventeen just underway here in the second half,
third a second quarter, third quarter action, I should say,
come on, date, come on, here's kill Gore gets the snamp,
hands it off to mabsid mAbs. I'm trying to bounce
it here near side. He's hit, stays on his feet.
He's up to the forty yard line. He picks up
(01:17:50):
five yards and that will bring up a third and five.
Leland Bell on the stop for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 6 (01:17:56):
Oh this is big.
Speaker 2 (01:18:00):
Third down here early in this second half. Here for
this dog defense. Big play right here, crowd here for
the Dogs on their feet.
Speaker 6 (01:18:08):
I think they're gonna chuck it.
Speaker 2 (01:18:12):
Motion by the Tigers on that lineup with trip two
white outs either side. Kill Gore drops back, pressure throws
across the middle, caught it to the fifty yard line,
a first down and pushed out of bounds at the
forty eight yard line. Court Ingram comes over makes the
stop for the Bulldogs. But again nice job by in
time was kill gore and he found this man. They'll
(01:18:32):
mark him to the forty nine yard line. That's an
eleven yard pickup.
Speaker 6 (01:18:36):
That's a great that's great execution by them.
Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Good they got a good offense, no doubt. Hand off
to Mabson straight up the middle. Mabson hit but still
falls down close to the forty one yard line. He's
got close to eight yards. Kievan King has to come
up and make the stop. Autry and Lightfoot gonna check out.
Substitution's coming in here. It'll be seven yards on the ground.
They'll mark get down at the forty two yard line.
(01:19:01):
So that was a pickup of seven yards. Second down
in three here for the Tigers at the forty two
of Opelika. Mabson again gets the hand off. Mabson rumbles
in his way down to the thirty four yard line.
He's got six more yards and a Tiger first down.
Keevy and King again on the stop for the Bulldogs,
but the big fella getting going here for the Tigers.
(01:19:26):
Fourteen fourteen, our score ten oh three remaining here in
this third quarter, Kilgore looks to be going under center
here on this first and ten play at the thirty
four yard line of Opelika. It'll be a toss plate
to Mabsen. Mabsen cut down in the backfield, falls ahead
right back to the line of scrimmage. Ty Hudson comes
(01:19:48):
up and makes the stop there on Omar Mabson actually
lost too, now marking back to the thirty six second twelve.
So second and twelve, good negative play there for the
linebacker who you know. Emotions are riding high for the
former Tiger.
Speaker 6 (01:20:03):
Yea, they have been.
Speaker 3 (01:20:03):
Everything's been inside because they brought those two subs in
there for autree and Lightfoot.
Speaker 6 (01:20:11):
So but I think he's gonna chunk.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
It here, all right, five wide? Look here, kill Gore
drops back, jumps one across the middle. Nice tackle at
the thirty five yard line, just a one yard pickup.
Carson Moss was there to bring him down right at
the thirty five. Maya picked up a yard as cash
Reef was on the reception. It's third and eleven coming
up for the Tiers.
Speaker 6 (01:20:30):
Big play right here, big big, big play. Another one Dogs.
Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
Another big third down coming up here for the dog defense.
Hit a stop right here, trips to the left side.
That's the short side of the field. Tigers from the left,
hash kill gored, drops back, steps up in the pocket.
Hit flushed, he's in trouble. Stays, drops all the way
back at the midfield, still dropping back, and chunks that
one into the stands. That's gonna be intentional grounding.
Speaker 6 (01:20:59):
It should.
Speaker 2 (01:21:01):
They have yet to throw the flag. Boy, I don't know.
I haven't seen it come in yet. He was outside
the tackle box, but I don't think it made it
across the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 6 (01:21:13):
Mike, what about that? That's intentional grounding. I know what
he is. Are they going? All right?
Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
We'll wait and see. Here comes the white hat. He
does drop the flag. It is intentional grounding. It is
a loss of down. It will be fourth down, yes, sir,
big time stop by the dog defense.
Speaker 6 (01:21:33):
Ah, there we go, baby, we'll back on track. Great
drop defense.
Speaker 2 (01:21:41):
So here comes the punter for the Tigers. That will
back things back to around the forty five yard Liawne. No,
it's gonna be back back across midfield to the forty
nine yard line. The Tigers. That was position. Come on,
now that all the way back to the forty nine
yard line. This is going to be fourth and a
mile here. See if we can get ja Mario Attorney
(01:22:05):
stands up. Are going back a little further, hey, back
to the forty four yard line. That's a huge shifting
field position. Coach Moore getting his directions out. Jamari stands
at around the twenty yard line. Punter catches it at
the thirty just about got it blocked. Jamari fields it
at the sixteen yard line. Good coverage downfield by the Tigers. Thoh,
(01:22:28):
they'll hem him up right there at the seventeen yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:22:31):
Now we're in business. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
Bulldogs back with the football they scored to start the
second half in an opportunity here for Opal I get
to go down and maybe get a lead here, tied
at fourteen with eight to twenty left here in the
third quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:22:46):
Tramont, Thomas, Epperson, Jackson, Lee, Whitlow and Miller up front.
Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
Come on, boys, Dogs will have it from their own
see line of scrimmage seventeen yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:23:02):
Let's take over this game now, come on.
Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Key out of the shotgun. They'll bring Johnson in motion,
hand off to Calvin, and Calvin brought down at the
nineteen yard line, pickup of two yards. Okay, Jackson Lovern
on the stop for the Tigers. Second out an.
Speaker 6 (01:23:25):
Eight come on execution.
Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Now the Dogs are going to go I formation here.
Calvin will dot the I from the eighteen yard line.
Hard count. Tigers did not jump though. Colby under center
here in the I formation from the eighteen yard line
and a handoff right side is Calvin. Calvin hard running
(01:23:48):
up close to the twenty four yard line is where
they'll mark him down. That was a five yard pickup
by Calvin. Caleb Pitts in on the stop for the Tigers.
Speaker 6 (01:23:57):
Oh what a big play.
Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
This is third and three coming up here for the
Dogs from their on twenty four yard line ty game
here fourteen fourteen bulldogs with the football from there on
twenty four.
Speaker 6 (01:24:11):
Auburn's thinking run. They got them all stacked.
Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
In there, and again it's an I formation. Key with
a hard count. Now back under center after checking the sidelines,
trying to get everybody down here, third and four play,
it'll go back to Calvin right side. Calvin hit at
the twenty five and he's gonna be well short of
the first down, a good stand there by the Tiger defense,
(01:24:34):
and then we'll bring up fourth down. Goodness, big pile
up there on that right side. They were really keying
in on Calvin on that one.
Speaker 3 (01:24:46):
Yeah, I thought you might see a play action pass
right there. I think Brian wants to let his defense
just play with these guys.
Speaker 6 (01:24:55):
We got them.
Speaker 2 (01:24:56):
Yeah, I'm fourth and one, so not terribly sure.
Speaker 6 (01:25:02):
Well, we need a great punt here from big boy.
Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
They've got it at the twenty six yard line. Cam
Rayley will snap, Zion Henderson stands at the twelve yard lines.
Zion gets the snap and a big time booming punt
fair catch called for at the thirty eight yard line
there by Peyton Plott. So that's where the Tigers will
start first and ten. As we play here about midway
through the third corner of play six eleven left here
(01:25:26):
in the tie game fourteen fourteen, and now the Tiger
offense coming out when thrown a.
Speaker 6 (01:25:32):
Pass this half, we've run it five times, so this
is a Auburn's thrown three.
Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Auburn will have it from their own thirty eight yard line.
First and ten.
Speaker 6 (01:25:46):
We need to get a good, good stop on first down.
Speaker 2 (01:25:49):
Say the defense could come up with one here, two
white outs either side. Kill Gore brings a man in motion.
He'll give it to mAbs and right up the middle.
Goods stop there by the Bulldogs and we're plugging the
hole up. There was Leland Bell coming in there on
a blitz and got him right there at the line
of scrimmage. And boy Omar comes out and he's hobbling
off the field here and Charlie Ward will come in
(01:26:12):
and give him a breather.
Speaker 6 (01:26:13):
Here there's that maps in maps.
Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
And maps and going out, and he looked like he
maya tweaked an ankle.
Speaker 6 (01:26:19):
Oh, we've got time out.
Speaker 2 (01:26:20):
Yeah, they're going to take a time out. Look him
over here, I think fourteen fourteen, five fifty six remaining
here in this third quarter of play. We're back after
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker fourteen fourteen tie ball game. We're in the
(01:26:40):
third quarter, just under six minutes left here, five fifty
six to go in a tie fourteen fourteen game. Tigers
with a second down in eight from there on forty
yard line. Out of the time out, Kilgore drops back
quick throw read nicely there.
Speaker 6 (01:26:55):
That was a great play.
Speaker 2 (01:26:57):
Hit right as he caught it was ask you as
it was Devin Dixon coming up and making the hit
right as he caught it. Good forward progress though, they'll
give him up to the forty three yard line, so
he still gets five yards five. Good hit, third and five.
As coach mentioned, coming up here, it's the crowd on go.
But like a side gets on their foot here they
(01:27:18):
got a two white outs left single receiver here near
side killgored pressure throws and overshot Ryan birtsfield incomplete and
a good stand by the Bulldog defense. Fourth down. Here
comes the punting team out for the Tigers. We got
a bulldog down on the field. I think Amari Smiley
(01:27:39):
may be dealing with a cramp. So while we got
to tie him out here on the field, we'll step
aside as well.
Speaker 6 (01:27:45):
Well.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
Now Mary back up and now he runs right off
the field. Good sign there must have been a short cramp.
Good sign there. All right, that's Jamari Miller gonna drift back.
Let's see if we can get him a good h.
Speaker 6 (01:28:00):
Something going here for attle. Better field position.
Speaker 2 (01:28:02):
Well, Opalaika was really bringing the pressure on this punter
and they bring the house again here and almost got
to it. Jamari Miller calls a fair catch of the
twenty five yard line. Must have saw something on tape.
That's two times in a row, Coach, they have brought
the house on the punter.
Speaker 6 (01:28:20):
Yeah, that boy's not real fast.
Speaker 3 (01:28:22):
I know he's not a MAC and I were looking
at him for the game, and he's a he's a
three step punter, but he's not not the quickest of
all people.
Speaker 2 (01:28:32):
All right. So the Bulldog offense back out here in
a tie game, fourteen fourteen, with five twelve remaining. Here
in the third quarter, Kobe King in this offense will
have it first and ten from their own twenty five
yard line. Key out of the shotgun, Calvin Hugley big
tail back to his right. Two receivers, No, I to
check that. That is Jordan Waits at the game. They'll
throw down field, in and out of the hands, downfield
(01:28:55):
at the thirty five yard line. Tried to hook up
with Bennett Young downfield, in and out of his hands, incomplete.
It'll be second down in ten.
Speaker 6 (01:29:10):
Can't do that. Can't let that happen. Boys, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Jamari Miller checks out and Bennett Young comes out.
Speaker 6 (01:29:17):
This is gonna be a hugely run.
Speaker 2 (01:29:19):
I just shot gun formation here on second down and
ten Dogs with their on twenty five yard line. Johnson,
the big fellow, Blake Johnson's gonna get the hand off
and his hit stood up at the twenty five yard line.
No gain on the play. It'll be third and ten
coming up here. Four of the Bulldogs, Calvin Hugly will
check back in the ball game.
Speaker 6 (01:29:43):
This is the first third down conversion they've had.
Speaker 2 (01:29:47):
You're wondering, coach win that shot may come. We see
Jalen Washington checking the ball game. He'll line up wide
to the right side. Two wides either side here, see
if the Dogs will go to the air. Kobe Key
with a hard count. Now he'll check the sideline. Dogs
they're on twenty five facing a third and ten.
Speaker 6 (01:30:04):
Might be a quick screen.
Speaker 2 (01:30:08):
Key hard count gets the snap, they bring the pressure
throws and it is caught at the thirty five yard line.
Lunching ahead for the first down marker and I think
the Dogs have it. That was Jamari Miller who hauled
it in. They're gonna mark them about an inch or
two short, and they say fourth down. I think the
Dogs may line up.
Speaker 3 (01:30:24):
And go for it too.
Speaker 6 (01:30:26):
I do too, I do too.
Speaker 2 (01:30:29):
Boy. That was that's a whole yard short here on
fourth and one, dogs for their own thirty four yard line.
That was a nine yard pickup. Gosh, boy, the punting
team comes in and Coach more gonna send them out. Boy,
if you don't get it here, you just basically give
Auburn a touchdown. I know, but it's it's a tough call.
Speaker 10 (01:30:49):
I know, I know.
Speaker 2 (01:30:53):
Gian Henderson, boy just on most got that and Coach
Moore is gonna take a time out. I think somebody
not on the feet. He looks towards the sidelines and
he is upset.
Speaker 6 (01:31:03):
Somebody's not out there.
Speaker 2 (01:31:04):
Yeah, somebody not out there. So time out on the field.
Head down for a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report.
Mat McCracken mac tough one there and just about got
the first down.
Speaker 6 (01:31:15):
Yeah, how short? Is He's a he's a whole hard,
isn't he?
Speaker 3 (01:31:19):
Is it? A?
Speaker 2 (01:31:20):
Yeah, he's a whole foot.
Speaker 6 (01:31:21):
Yeah, Okay, I'm back over. Yeah, this is a that's
tough right there.
Speaker 8 (01:31:24):
But you know, hey, your defense is doing a tremendous job.
You set it away, Uh, you leave it up then,
but then you come back offensively. We got to get
something going right there, Gus. That's two stalls that we've
had right there, and we just came up short. But hey,
let's get a good punt here, and they're gonna.
Speaker 6 (01:31:42):
Go put the offense.
Speaker 2 (01:31:43):
Let's go here we go all right, looks though the
offense may be coming out.
Speaker 6 (01:31:47):
We'll see.
Speaker 2 (01:31:50):
Everybody huddled in there. I think the punting team is
up there with they're gonna run the punning un out.
Try to get out there quickly. Zion Henderson back at
the twenty one yard line. He gets the snap, but
it's another nice booming punt into this one. Nobody was
back deep for Auburn. This one's gonna sell all the
(01:32:14):
way down and get out of bounds inside the five.
Down around the three yard line. What a punt by
Zion Henderson and the Tigers are going to be backed
up inside the five. Wow, what a play there. That
may have been. It may have been by design, who knows,
they may have tried to Yeah, Hey.
Speaker 6 (01:32:32):
I would have never thought of that. That's a great
maneuver right there, or wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:36):
Coke geez all the way down to the four yard line,
so that ends up being a sixty two yard punt.
Speaker 6 (01:32:44):
Oh, this game's turning into a Oh goodness, this is
a my kind of game right there.
Speaker 2 (01:32:51):
That's what you that's what you pay your money on.
Speaker 6 (01:32:53):
Gofing for that boy, then this boys live will throw
it anywhere.
Speaker 2 (01:32:58):
It won't matter to him. Tigers backed up on their
own four yard line. Kill Gore out of the shotgun,
gives it to Mabson. Mabson hit and gets up close
to the nine yard line. Carson Moss on the stop,
but that's about four yard. Yeah, I'll mark him at
(01:33:21):
the eight for a four yard pick. Go from second
down and six too much.
Speaker 6 (01:33:25):
Don't let them get a first down down here, guys,
come on.
Speaker 2 (01:33:29):
Kill Gore is the quarterback and he'll work out of
the shotgun from his own eight yard line. He'll have
trips receivers to the left, single receiver to the right.
Kill Gore gets the snap, drops back, throws wheel route
and it is underthrown. He tried to hook up with
Mabson who was wide open at the nineteen yard line.
That was a busted assignment there, and it'll bring up
third down. Boy, that was a good break there for
(01:33:51):
the Bulldogs.
Speaker 3 (01:33:51):
It was.
Speaker 6 (01:33:55):
Oh, this is huge right here.
Speaker 3 (01:33:57):
Van.
Speaker 2 (01:33:57):
I know coach Moore was gonna he was going to
be very upset. They've worked on that play all week
and it was open. Really they have that throwback third
and five, big play, Van, Bulldog fans on their feet,
a big third down coming up Tigers from their own
eight yard line here in a tie game fourteen fourteen.
(01:34:19):
As we play with three h five left in the
third quarter, I'm on pressure pressure Kilgore five wide. Look
throw back here near side. It is caught wrapped up
in the six yard line. What a stop by Carson Moss.
He wrapped up Josh ask you before he could even
think about getting going. These Dogs are flying around on
defense here in this second half, and the Dogs defense
(01:34:45):
try to slip the field position here as the Tigers
are now we'll be punting with their punter back almost
to the back of the end zone.
Speaker 6 (01:34:53):
Don't want to rub this guy, now, let him put
the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:34:58):
Jamari Miller stands had around the forty three of Alburn.
Daniel back gets the snap and they'll put a return
on high hanging punt and they punted it well away
from Jamari and it takes a good opal like a roll.
What's going to be down at the Auburn thirty five
yard line, right at the thirty four Bulldogs First and
(01:35:19):
ten at the Auburn thirty five yard line, and the
Bulldog fans are on their feet. Who good starting field
position here for the Bulldogs at the Tiger thirty five
tied at fourteen. Here where late third quarter, two forty
five remaining here in this third quarter, Calvin Hugley comes
(01:35:41):
out along with Kobe Keith.
Speaker 6 (01:35:47):
Goodness, gracious, I can feel it.
Speaker 2 (01:35:49):
Three wide to the left side of the thirty five
of Alburn. Key gets the snap, hands into Calvin. Calvin's
up running inside the thirty and Calvin is down close
to the twenty seven of Alburn. That's going to be
close to seven eight yards. Greg Williams and Caleb Pitts
on the stop for Auburn.
Speaker 6 (01:36:07):
Two thirty left.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
That was an eight yard game to the twenty six.
Speaker 6 (01:36:12):
Take you time, Take you time.
Speaker 2 (01:36:15):
Second down in two at the Auburn twenty six yard line.
Calvin gets it right side, He's hit at the line
of scrimmage. Calvin fighting ahead and in Calvin getting close
to the first down, He's down to the twenty five
yard line. He got one. I think he's gonna be
a yard shy. This will set up a third and one.
Big Julian Pritchett chicken in the ball game now for
(01:36:37):
the Bulldogs. So a third and one. I need to
get a good push here.
Speaker 6 (01:36:45):
I think you're gonna see that belly play right here.
Speaker 2 (01:36:50):
Dogs will line up in the shotgun formation. I think
coach More knows is four down territory regardless here.
Speaker 6 (01:36:55):
Now they ain't rushing before.
Speaker 2 (01:36:57):
Hugly is to the left and the offensive line got
a head start. It's gonna be a five yard penalty
and a killer. It's a third and one now to
be third and six, he's.
Speaker 6 (01:37:09):
A he's dripping at the official about something.
Speaker 2 (01:37:14):
Maybe saying they're trying to jump in the neutral zone.
I'm not sure, but they're not gonna get the call.
It's gonna go back to the boy that was thirty
one yard line. It'll be third and six. That's a
tough one.
Speaker 3 (01:37:27):
Well, we're not gonna kick a field goal, so you
know we're gonna go for this. We've got two downs
to make six yards.
Speaker 2 (01:37:34):
From the arts to beat a clinic broadcast booth. Late
third quarter, one thirty six left, tied at fourteen. A
third and six coming up here for the Bulldogs. Rain's
starting to come down here now at Duck Sandford Stadium.
Calvin Hughley gets the hand off. Calvin a good run,
pushing that pile all the way down close to the
twenty five. He may be down to the twenty four.
(01:37:55):
He may have the first down. They're gonna mark him
right at it. No signal. Yeah, boy, that was a
great push when this offensive line. As the rain comes
down here at Duck Safford State.
Speaker 6 (01:38:07):
And look, Brian's saying first down, they need to make heays.
Speaker 2 (01:38:12):
A first down, first down finally signaled in by the
official at the twenty five yard line. First and ten,
Bulldogs tied at fourteen. As we get close to a
minute left here in the third quarter, one thirteen in
the clock, running.
Speaker 6 (01:38:28):
Just take your time. You got a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:38:31):
I formation here Key under center at the twenty five
of Auburn quick hand off to the full back Johnson.
Johnson good tough running as he's down close to the
sixteen yard line. That's going to be close to another
first down, really close. Isaac Benford on the stop for
the Tigers. And there is an injury on the field.
(01:38:54):
Think so, I think that was Johnson who was slow
to get up, but he looks to be okay standing
up on his own power. May have just rolled an
ankle there. Yeah, he comes off on his own power.
So that's good to see. Umbrella is starting to come
out here a duck Sanford Stadium as a rain kind
of picks up. We thought it was going to be
raining the whole game today. Kawn continues to run forty
(01:39:16):
five seconds second down in four. He's coming up here
for the Bulldogs. Thirty eight seconds inside the twenty down
to the nineteen yard line of Auburn. Key out of
the shotgun, hands the ball left side. Here's Calvin Calvin
inside the twenty. Calvin on the feed inside the fifteen
he stiff arms with a fender ride of bounds near
(01:39:37):
the first down marker. Calvin gonna be marked down inside
the fifteen down around the fourteen yard line. That should
be enough for a Lambert transfer in Stewart's first down.
Speaker 6 (01:39:47):
I believe you're right. Van Rix.
Speaker 2 (01:39:54):
First and ten Opelaika at the come on eighteen yard
line of or should say the fourteen yard line of Auburn.
Here comes the belly play I formation. Key checks the sidelines.
Dogs content to let this clock wind here, and this
is gonna be the last play. No, we won't even
have another play. Heading to the fourth quarter, tight at
(01:40:16):
fourteen with the Bulldogs knocking on the door inside the
fifteen yard line and the momentum on the red and black.
You're listening to Bulldog football right here on ninety seven
point seven kicker fee.
Speaker 3 (01:40:31):
Eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:40:33):
Heading to the fourth quarter. Boy there on their feet.
Here's the rain comes down here to start the final
quarter here at dunk Sandford Stadium, Bulldogs a first and
ten at the Auburn thirteen yard line as we open
up the fourth quarter here in a tie ball game,
fourteen fourteen. It's been all opalaika though in the second half,
as the Tigers had a fourteen to seven lead at
(01:40:54):
the break by.
Speaker 6 (01:40:55):
Johnson in their fullback and now they're gonna run the belly.
Speaker 2 (01:40:58):
You watch all right, Blake john hs in there to
full back and an I formation here as Calvin Hugly
will dot the eye stood at section of Auburn right
to that left hash where the Bulldogs are lined up
here at the thirteen handoff goes to Calvin, and Calvin
is cut down right at the line of scrimmage for
no gain. A good stop there by Caleb Pitts and
Greg Williams of Auburn. Sheck it down in ten. Auburn
(01:41:23):
really bowing up here, and you don't want to try
to kick a field go here in a steady rain
here in this fourth quarters. We're just underway here in
the fourth Yeah, Slade Clayton will check in the ballgame.
He'll line up at the tight end position to the left,
and I formation still with Johnson and Calvin dot in
the eye. Sec it down in ten at the thirteen
of Auburn. Now, Colby, you'll check the sidelines. Colby checking
(01:41:50):
with the line and changing his play, gets the snap
hand off quick to the fullback Johnson. He's inside the ten.
Johnson still pushing the pile down and Unson is down
close to the sixteen yard line. All right, should stay
down to the six yard line. Hey, that's close to
seven yards.
Speaker 6 (01:42:10):
Third and three, two down territory.
Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Third and four. They're gonna market.
Speaker 6 (01:42:21):
Sore.
Speaker 2 (01:42:22):
Third down and four, Third down and four at the
they need to run it again. Van third and four
at the seven of Alburn I formation again here, Koby
Key hard count play action, wanting to throw looking for
Jones in the back of the end zone. Floated up
and fought four and I believe Jones came down with
(01:42:42):
a touchdown Ballogs. Jones ripped it away from the defender.
What a big time catch by Brody Jones. Him and
the defender went up fighting for it and Jones snatched
it away. Touchdown Bulltogs from six yards out.
Speaker 6 (01:42:57):
Crowdy Jones.
Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
Man, what a snag and the defender still down in
the back of the end zone. What a throw? What
a catch? Boy, Kobe floated it up there. I thought
the defender may pick it off, but boy, what ages.
Brody Jones is one of the most aggressive wide receivers
you'll ever come across, and he was not letting the
defender have that football.
Speaker 6 (01:43:21):
And his dad is quite proud right now.
Speaker 2 (01:43:23):
There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 6 (01:43:24):
Go get them, Billy Jones.
Speaker 2 (01:43:26):
I like that Brody Jones touchdown there, twenty to fourteen,
with ten and twenty six remaining here in this ballgame.
But Bulldog's up by six and trying to add the
extra point here by Rhys Beasley, good snap pulled down
and to kick up and good twenty one fourteen Bulldogs
(01:43:50):
on top here the fourth quarter at Duck Sandford Stadium.
We're back after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog
football here on the kicker shutdown throw by Kobe Key
as he finds Brody Jones in the back of the
end zone heading into that student section of Auburn and
(01:44:12):
Opelaika has the lead twenty one fourteen over the Auburn
High Tigers. As we have ten twenty six to play
here in the ninety ninth meeting between these two rivals.
Speaker 6 (01:44:23):
Where's this bark gonna kick this ball?
Speaker 4 (01:44:25):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (01:44:25):
I got a feeling. What is your guess?
Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
There was a penalty on Alburn? Oh man, that's going
to be an unsportsmanlike penalty, So we'll get some clarification.
Was that on the sidelines? I think it was on
the Auburn sidelines, So that's another sports below. Now you
can kick it to the end zone. You're kicking it
at the forty five of Alburn. That was a really
(01:44:51):
big break there.
Speaker 6 (01:44:52):
Where's the stud receiver where.
Speaker 2 (01:44:55):
He is in the mind up on the far side
of the field.
Speaker 6 (01:44:59):
He's over there on far side of the field. We
need to kick it straight down the middle.
Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
Reese's got a good leg just to boot this thing
in the end zone here, and he'll let it rip
and well into the end zone no return. Tigers will
start from their own twenty yard line here and the
coaching staff of Opelaikah continuing to encourage the Bulldogs to
get on their feet in the stands ten twenty six
left Opelaikah twenty one fourteen Chad Key, look it up here.
(01:45:32):
Come on defense, father of the cornerback Kobe, he's fired up.
Bulldogs believe in here, and boy, your defense plays a
little bit harder when they got some belief. And I
think the Dogs believe right now, coach, they can win
this ball game.
Speaker 6 (01:45:47):
Come on, boys.
Speaker 2 (01:45:49):
Tigers will start for their own twenty yard line. Kill
Gore out of the shotgun, two whiteouts either side, play action.
Kill Gore stands he's going to take a deep shot
down field and it is caught somehoin inside the twenty
ten five, out of bounds at the two. My goodness, Josh,
(01:46:10):
ask you. He threw it into double coverage. Dogs went
up for the interception, missed it, and Auburn comes down
with it and almost punches it in there at the one. Goodness,
gracious goy seventy nine yards on that throw, and just
like that, you can take the momentum right out of
(01:46:30):
somebody's seals and coach Ethrich went for the home run.
It was covered good. I mean, it was just an
outstanding catch by Josh. Ask you and he's down to
the one that was seventy nine yards golly kind of feeling.
You'll see Kilgore handed to Mabson. Mabson gets it and
(01:46:54):
lunges ahead towards the end zone. Now say he's down
at the one, didn't get in, no gain on the play,
so it'll be second and goal from the one. Boy,
just a I mean two defenders there. I thought. I
thought Keevie and King was the one that was going
to come down with the interception. Yeah, by no stretch
(01:47:16):
of the imagination was that a wide open pass.
Speaker 6 (01:47:19):
Only eight nine minutes left in the game.
Speaker 2 (01:47:21):
You have twenty one to fourteen Dogs hanging on to
a seven point lead with nine twenty eight left at
the one yard line. Again, they'll give it to Maps
and this time he's in the end zone for the
Tiger touchdown point after away from tying this one up
here with nine twenty two left. Boy, what a shot
(01:47:54):
as kil Gore hooked up with Josh ask you on
a big time throw and even a bigger catch there
point after up and good, and we're tied back at
twenty one here at Duck SANDFORDGE Stadium, nine twenty two
left and we're back right after this time out here
on the Kicker.
Speaker 10 (01:48:12):

Speaker 7 (01:48:40):
WUKKR Auburn, Opelaika is Lee County's Best Country ninety seven
point seven Kicker FM and iHeart Country Station.
Speaker 2 (01:48:53):
Well a big answer by the Auburn Tigers their first
touchdown of the second half and a seventy nine yard
hard throwing ketch setting up the Omar Mabson one yard
touchdown run and the kick goes into the in zone.
So we're tied at twenty one here in the fourth
quarter of nine twenty two remaining here at Douck Sanford Stadium.
Speaker 6 (01:49:15):
And I see if this.
Speaker 2 (01:49:16):
Offense can opali like it can come back out coach.
They had some really good momentum here in the second
half with two second half touchdowns, and yes, sir, need
to come up with a big drive here, eat some
clock off and and punch another one in.
Speaker 3 (01:49:27):
And they both had fifteen snaps so far in this
second half. This I'm going all the way down.
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Yeah, These always come down to the wire, and it
certainly is here again tonight here this ninety ninth meeting
between these two rivals. Colby Key out of the shotgun.
Speaker 6 (01:49:46):
You gonna see their best stuff.
Speaker 2 (01:49:48):
Trips to the left side and Key gets the snap,
hands it off to Calvin Hugley and Calvin up for
two maybe three yards. Alex Gamston comes in on the stop.
Speaker 6 (01:50:01):
Thank us three.
Speaker 2 (01:50:03):
Twenty three got three yards, so this will be a
second down and seven eight fifty six left here in
the fourth tie game here in twenty one, Key out
of the shotgun. Key gets the snap, hands it off
to Calvin here near side. Calvin across the twenty five
(01:50:26):
spins his way up to the twenty eight yard line
and Calvin's got close to close to six yards. Going
to be third and two coming up here. Four of
the Bulldogs from the twenty eight yard line. Dogs from
(01:50:48):
they're on twenty eight. It'll be an I formation, Key
under center, Key a hard count checks the sidelines. Tigers
defense trying to get set Dogs that they're on twenty
eight eight here, third and two handoff goes to Calvin
hitting the backfield, didn't get it stopped. On fourth down,
(01:51:08):
they got a punt no gain on the play.
Speaker 4 (01:51:14):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:51:14):
Bulldogs will have to send out the punting team. Big
standing here and Auburn set up trying to get some
good field position. They'll come on send their punt returner
back to around the thirty nine yard line. Henderson gets
(01:51:36):
the snap, high wobbly punt here near side, and it's
out of bounds at around the forty five. I think
they're going to say it went out of bounds. It's
going to be a good spot here for the Tigers
them mark it down at the forty three yard line,
so Auburn will have it from there on forty three,
(01:51:57):
but near midfield here for the.
Speaker 3 (01:52:01):
One our secondary is gonna have to make up for
what happened back there. Now, come on, come on, guys,
game on the line here, Now.
Speaker 2 (01:52:14):
Auburn from there on forty four here on first and
ten ty game here twenty one, twenty one, seven, twenty
seven to go. Quarterback rolls right, throws it is caught
by Mabson near midfield, and Madison tripped up across midfield,
and they'll mark him down at the opal like a
forty nine yard line. That'll be seven yards for Omar Mabsen.
(01:52:37):
Leland Bell comes up there on the stop second down
in four as the Tigers are at the Bulldog forty
nine yard line, kil Gore gets the snamp throws far
side hit immediately was cash Reef. He got hit by
Devin Dixon on that far sideline. I think they may
say he may have picked up a half the yard
with forward progress, but it's gonna set up a third
(01:52:58):
and three at the Opalaika forty eight yard line.
Speaker 6 (01:53:02):
Yeah, Map's will run this one.
Speaker 2 (01:53:08):
Come on, dogs, all right at the forty eight of Opalaika.
Snap handoff goes to Mabson and Mabson hit right at
the forty five yard line. But that'll be enough for
a first down. You got about three yards on the
run and that'll move the chains six twenty seven three
(01:53:29):
yards on the pickup there by Auburn.
Speaker 6 (01:53:33):
We can't give him a big first down play van.
Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
They I'll mark it down in the forty four of Opalaika.
Kill gore out of the shotgun and wide out either side.
Mabson remains a tailbag. Mabson, we'll get the hand off
hit at the line of scrimmage days on his feet,
but he'll be hemmed up for just a couple of yards.
They'll mark him down at the forty three. Couple of
yards maybe one second and nine. You're correct, Hudson and
(01:53:59):
Bell on the he just picked up one down to
the forty three yard line. Second down in nine and
the tiger's burning some clock. Now five point fifty three
left in the game. We're tied at twenty one. Here
in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:54:10):
At front four, Thomas, Lightfoot, Autree and Smiley.
Speaker 2 (01:54:14):
Come on, boys at the forty three Opelika shifting by
the Tigers. He'll go out of the shotgun. Here's a
reverse play. They're trying to get it to plot far
side of the field pot inside the thirty five and
fourth side of bounds, inside the thirty down around the
twenty nine yard line. It's going to be around fourteen
yards and enough for an Auburn first down.
Speaker 6 (01:54:37):
They're biting field goal range, aren't there. They are.
Speaker 2 (01:54:45):
Five thirty two left in this one, tied at twenty
one in Auburn first and ten at the Opalaka twenty
nine yard line, and coach Boor comes in and calls
a time out, so we'll step aside and take a
time out with him. You're listening to Bulldog footb here
on the kicker for bait.
Speaker 6 (01:55:02):
It's me from.
Speaker 2 (01:55:04):
Go set the tin zone and it is hauled in
and it is caught for a Tiger touchdown. Play action
drawn up nicely on the sidelines and kill Gore got
it you as wide receiver in the back of the
end zone. Well placed ball thereby Jackson Killgore and the
(01:55:27):
Tigers have answered. After the Bulldogs take a twenty one
to fourteen lead, a huge pass play to set up
the Omar MAVs and score, and the Tigers march it
right down and look to take the lead here with
five twenty five remaining the point after up and good
Tigers lead at twenty eight twenty one, five twenty five
(01:55:48):
left here at Duck Sanford Stadium, and boy, dogs have
got an answer and they got five minutes to do so.
Senior quarterback right now for Auburn has been the difference maker.
Speaker 3 (01:56:05):
I was a double post pattern they ran on that
last play and both those receivers were open.
Speaker 2 (01:56:12):
Boy, how about Jackson Kilgore though, I'll tell you what,
that's a tough.
Speaker 6 (01:56:15):
Quarterback, good player.
Speaker 2 (01:56:16):
He's a good one.
Speaker 4 (01:56:17):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
He went down last year coach before their game against
Opelaika earlier in the season and was injured, did not play,
and he was really the difference maker in their run
last season. No, Coach Moore was really praising him this week.
And boy, his play here when the game was on
the line today has been outstanding.
Speaker 6 (01:56:37):
Well, we got five minutes left.
Speaker 2 (01:56:40):
Joseph Daniel has it kicked lined up and heads towards
the end zone. Jamor I'll have a chance here at
the five yard line. Jamari turns his field and stays
on his feet at the fifteen and Jamari just gets
back up around the twenty yard line. Could not break
that one. Good coverage downfield there by the Tigers special teams.
So here's we here's where we go here in the fourth,
(01:57:01):
twenty eight to twenty one, Auburn with the lead five
fifteen remaining here in this ballgame, and coach, when you're
in at this point in the game, you just may
not get the football back again.
Speaker 6 (01:57:11):
I know this is this is gonna be very able
to move this ball.
Speaker 2 (01:57:15):
Yeah, very key.
Speaker 6 (01:57:17):
The offensive series. The last two times we've had the ball,
we haven't done much with it.
Speaker 2 (01:57:24):
So here's Kobe Key out of the shot going and
keep play action. Wanted to throw, stays on his feet
and we'll throw it fines Calvin here near side twenty five.
Calvin spins his way up to the thirty yard line
and that's gonna be enough for a first down. Nice job, Key.
As the pressure came, he turned back and looked here
to the near sidelines and he got Calvin Hugley. They're
(01:57:46):
gonna mark him. What a yard shorter or is it?
Speaker 5 (01:57:48):
Now?
Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
They did market They give it a first down up
to the thirty ten yard pickup, so that will move
the chains. Four fifty three left here in the ballgame,
aubur leading now twenty eight twenty one key with two
white outs to the left side, no single receiver here
to the near side. Here goes a reverse play and
Bulldog's fumble the football and Brody Jones goes for it.
(01:58:09):
I think the Tigers have it. Reverse play. Dogs lost
it and they scramble for it. Jones down on the field,
no signal yet from the body language. Opelika says they
have it, and boy, if somebody was going to wrestle
(01:58:34):
that away from Brody Jones, good luck. White hat has
yet to make a signal. Boy, this is going to
be a call of the century. Here a flag has
been thrown. I'm not sure. I'm not sure on who
(01:58:54):
booze rain down from the Opelika side. Dogs are calling.
They've yet to say who's got the football? And unsportsman
line went against Auburn and Opake is going to keep
the football. So a huge break there. Holy Coach Etheridge
(01:59:17):
is hot over on that far side, so opel Like
is going to retain possession as far as we know.
And that fifteen yard penalty Coach was a huge, huge break. Well,
it's going to be a fifteen yard penalty from the
line of scrimmage.
Speaker 6 (01:59:36):
What a break.
Speaker 2 (01:59:37):
Well, that's a huge one up to the forty five
yard line. And another flag comes in on the Auburn sidelines.
Speaker 6 (01:59:44):
They just throw that out.
Speaker 2 (01:59:46):
This is going to be a fresh one. That's just
a sideline warning. So not a not an unsportsmanlike but
the Bulldogs. Now after that your disasters play have it
first and ten at the forty five time out on
(02:00:09):
the field, Dogs will have it first and ten. Now,
after all that sorted out from their own forty five
yard line, let's head down. Mac mccracket standing by with
the four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report.
Speaker 6 (02:00:19):
Yeah, man, what a wild turn of events that was.
But how are you right?
Speaker 8 (02:00:23):
Brodie jones On is not going to give up a
fumble match with anybody.
Speaker 6 (02:00:27):
So and I think that, like you said, I think
that flag came.
Speaker 8 (02:00:31):
I think somebody from Auburn's defense said something to the
official and they flagged him. But hey, listen, four to
twenty four left, you know, get down there, score a touchdown,
go for two.
Speaker 6 (02:00:42):
When at twenty nine to twenty eight take it to the.
Speaker 2 (02:00:44):
House, how ya I like it, Mac, I think if
we score, I think you just may see that got
to get there and got to put it in first.
Dogs will have it from their own forty five yard line.
Open like a trailing by seven here twenty eight to
twenty one as we play here in the fourth quarter.
Coming to you from the worth of a Clinic broadcast booth,
East Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care. Four twenty
(02:01:05):
four left here in this ballgame, Still a good bit
of time remaining, but Opelika's chances of getting to the
end zone certainly will be going down if they can't
punch it in here. Coach ethridgeon's hot and he is out.
I don't know if this has to do with the
spot he's pointing back. Well, there still is a huge
(02:01:30):
conversation on that Auburn side. They are upset. Well, like coach,
I mean, it was a huge decision, you know, to go.
It seems like they've already made their decision. Officials still
having a conversation here.
Speaker 4 (02:01:49):
Now.
Speaker 2 (02:01:50):
The white hat's going to come over and explain whatever
the decision was made to Coach Etheridge, but he has
yet to yet to concede his argument, that's for sure.
Speaker 6 (02:02:01):
What do they do now?
Speaker 2 (02:02:02):
They're marking the football back? Now you're going to see
coach More lose his mind. Well, if somebody marked the
football incorrectly, it should be a first down. It's a
personal unsportsmanlike conduct. A referee comes over, he gives the
(02:02:28):
explanation to the signes. Mac, did you get an explanation?
Speaker 6 (02:02:32):
No, I didn't. I'm trying to find one here.
Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
All right, thanks so much. All right, So twenty one fourteen,
twenty eight to twenty one, I should say, is our
score here for twenty four remaining in the ball game.
And it was a reverse play by Opalaika that was fumbled.
There was a scramble for the football. Brody Jones comes
up with it, and then a unsportsmanlike conduct after the
play on Auburn, and they've got second down now on
(02:02:58):
the dial of down at the thirty yard line. Hope
could look like they may have had it at the
forty five. But this has been a long time sorting
this one out here. And the more this drags on,
the more emotional these two sidelines are gonna get over
this call. You just want them to get it right.
(02:03:19):
And I know expert on what's going on down there
to tell you exactly if it's right or wrong.
Speaker 6 (02:03:23):
But I do know.
Speaker 2 (02:03:25):
They're showing second down and ten Dogs from their own
thirty yard line, So it is second and ten from
their own thirty trips receivers to the right side. Key
(02:03:45):
out of the shotgun, Key gets the stamp, hands it
off to Calvin. Calvin tripped up right at the line
of scrimmage, didn't get much at all, got to the
thirty one and this is going to bring up a
third down and nine for the Bulldogs. A way to
convert here. You're almost in four down territory here, four
minutes to go in the gag.
Speaker 6 (02:04:05):
They're gonna have to throw twice now, it looks like,
but they got to make a first down. Dam Coleby.
Speaker 2 (02:04:13):
Key came up with a big throw against Benjamin Russell
in week one. See if he can come up with
one here. Third down and nine. Key drops back throws,
it's caught by Calvin. He's got it at the forty
forty five Calvin a midfield first down Bulldogs up the
Tiger forty eight yard line. A twenty two yard throwing
catch for the Bulldog first down.
Speaker 6 (02:04:34):
Big big play, big momentum play right there.
Speaker 2 (02:04:38):
Great job, first down to the Tiger forty seven yard
line actually is where they'll mark it down first and ten.
Great throw, great catch three thirty five left, twenty eight
to twenty one. Auburn with the lead dogs, though converting
a big third down in Tiger territory at the Tiger
forty seven a receiver either side Coleby Key out of
the shotgun, Key gets the stamp, hands it off. This
(02:05:02):
is Waits. Waits with a good run to the forty
one yard line. Waits picks up close to six yards. Hey,
they'll mark him at the forty two for a five
yard pickup. That'll be second down in five coming up.
So Calvin gets a breather as Jordan Waits, junior tailback
comes in the ballgame, entering today in just eight carries
(02:05:25):
for thirty yards. Kolby checking the sidelines here on a
second down and five a slow walk over towards the sidelines,
one hundred ten on the play clock, two forty three
left in the game. Hand off to Waits. Waits, good run,
pushing the pile down close to the thirty eight yard line.
(02:05:46):
Round four yards and that's going to set up a
third down and one.
Speaker 6 (02:05:50):
Only two thirty three left. We've got to go a
little faster, Van.
Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
I think the Dogs are playing for the one more
score were here and maybe a two pointer to win it.
I formation here on this third and one at the
Tiger forty thirty eight yard line. Key hard count bulldogs
check the sidelines. May have got away with a movement there,
(02:06:17):
how they did. Third down and one Key under center
gets the snamp, hands it to Johnson, the fullback, Johnson
inside the thirty. Johnson's got a Lambert transfer in storage.
First down down to the Tiger twenty eight yard line,
about eleven yards there for the big fellow, that Joe Billy.
Speaker 3 (02:06:34):
That's a Billy off tackle left, pull the guard block down.
We're gonna we don't want to run out of time.
Speaker 2 (02:06:41):
Van one fifty seven left clock continuing to run. Dogs
trailing by seven here twenty eight twenty one two white
outs to the right side of the field. Key gets
the snamp, rolls to his right. Key batted up in
the air and picked off by the Tigers. Keys pass
(02:07:02):
was batted the line of scrimmage and the Tigers come
down with the interception. And that just about will do it.
I don't know who got the pall on that one,
but that was the play of the game there, boy,
(02:07:26):
a tough, tough play. One forty two left and a
big time turnover. There Auburn back with a football. They'll
have it from their own twenty nine yard line. Yeah,
I think we do have all three timeouts.
Speaker 6 (02:07:45):
I do believe.
Speaker 2 (02:07:47):
Killgore gonna go under center. Just try to run this
thing out and a hand off to Mabson and the
Mabsen's up close to a first down. He carries it
up to the thirty nine yard line. Be a yard short,
third down in one.
Speaker 6 (02:08:03):
Take it.
Speaker 2 (02:08:08):
So second down in one for the Tigers. Twenty eight
to twenty one. Auburn with the lead one point fifteen
and the clock continuing to run. Now, I think Auburn
wanted to just go to the victory formation here. They
(02:08:30):
are going to drop down to a knee. Now, They'll
handed to Madson one more time he gets the first
down and that we'll bring coach More out quickly to
call a time out. So just be a game of
if you can get the football back here, just trying
(02:08:52):
to lengthen this thing out. But that was a heartbreaking turnover,
and boy, you you can't fault Kobe on that one.
He just got the ball batted down a line of
scrimmage and went up in the air. And those are
so dangerous. And that was the Tigers able to come
up with the interception. Auburn first and ten for their
on forty three time out on the field. We're back
after this. You're listening to Bulldog football here on the
(02:09:14):
kicker back here at Duck Sanford Stadium. Auburn trying to
run the last few seconds off of this clock. Here
we got fifty seconds left. They lead at twenty eight
to twenty one. A snap taken by the Tigers, they
(02:09:35):
dropped to a knee and Coach Moore sigling over towards
the scoreboard.
Speaker 6 (02:09:41):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (02:09:45):
If the clock continued to run, But not much the
Bulldogs can do right now but sit back and watch
the last few As long as barring them a mess
up on a snap or a fumble, Dogs will not
get the football back trailing here twenty eight to twenty
(02:10:06):
one with forty eight seconds left. Boy, dogs played their
hearts out here tonight.
Speaker 6 (02:10:11):
For sure.
Speaker 2 (02:10:11):
This is gonna be another heartbreaker. It looks like against
this Auburn High team last year went down to one point.
It was really a big pass play that was nearly
intercepted by Opelika. Yep, they got the Tigers the tie.
Speaker 3 (02:10:30):
Where we just couldn't make the big plays that Auburn made.
Auburn made more big plays than we did than not.
Speaker 2 (02:10:35):
Yeah, kil Gore, that corps back their quarterback's really good
drops to a knee. He is And now you coach,
you said it. I mean Auburn was able to make
the plays tonight. O Peleikah was had the big turnover
late that ended up being the dagger. Really here in
(02:10:58):
the ball game, game clock down to twenty two, down
to twenty one, Auburn, I believe we'll have to snap
it one more time, but it's pretty much tip for
tat now with the game clock and the play clock
down to as Kilgore drops to a knee final one here.
(02:11:23):
Bulldogs made some big plays in the second half of
the Tigers just made more of them, and the big
one was a big interception off of a tip pass
that was a difference maker in this one. Coach Ethicks
comes over, gives a big hug to Ty Hudson and
emotions run high in this one, and it was a
(02:11:43):
hard fought game on both sides. And I tell you
hope Alika fans can take one thing away from this
one that a lot of football games left on the schedule.
Speaker 9 (02:11:51):
Here.
Speaker 2 (02:11:51):
This is a zero to one starting to reach and play,
but there are some big ones coming up down the stretch.
Twenty eight twenty one is our final score here from
Duck Sandford Stadium tonight, and we come back. It's the
postgame Show and it is presented to you by Jeff
Coach TRANP Funeral Home. Twenty eight twenty one. Tigers win it.
We're back after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog
(02:12:13):
football here on the Kicker. Welcome back here on the
post game Show, presented to you by Jeff Coach TRMP
Funeral Home. Let's head out on the field now. Matt
McCracken is standing by with coach Brian Moore.
Speaker 3 (02:12:28):
Right.
Speaker 8 (02:12:28):
He goes, thanks lock Van Coach Moore, Hey, but I
know this didn't turn out the way you wanted to.
The boys fought hard, and I know I know you
got clamp some stuff. And look we're kind of dropping
and get ready for next week. There's more and more
games to come. Just thoughts on how the boys played
this evening. I mean, we played hard, but we didn't
(02:12:50):
play good.
Speaker 5 (02:12:50):
I mean we could say all the stuff about fighting
and moral victories.
Speaker 6 (02:12:54):
We don't do that here. We don't do that.
Speaker 5 (02:12:56):
We had a twenty one to fourteen league going in
the fourth quarter and we gave up two and then
we thumble going in.
Speaker 6 (02:13:02):
I like to have a chance to go for two or.
Speaker 5 (02:13:04):
Tight or whatever. We have got to learn to finish
ball games. If I'm not taught them one dang thing.
I thought it was to finish, And by god, we're
gonna get that right. We'll have another shot at this team.
It'll be cold weather when we do, probably right here,
and we'll see a different result at that time when
this team grows up and matures.
Speaker 6 (02:13:19):
But I promise this, so.
Speaker 5 (02:13:20):
Black community, this, We're gonna go back to work. We're
not okay with what just happened, because that's our fault.
That's our fault. Twenty one fourteen. In the fourth quarter,
we're driving a score, we decide to throw it. It's
not a very good call either. The ball gets bad
in the air. We shouldn't have tried to throw it
right there and it gets picked. It's completely our fault, okay,
and where it's my fault. And we're gonna go back
to work.
Speaker 8 (02:13:39):
And get this thing fixed, all right, coach, let me
sing you up to Van and daver quick.
Speaker 6 (02:13:43):
I gotta go realver there, all right, go we're quick,
real quick, coach.
Speaker 2 (02:13:49):
I know it's a heartbreaker, you know, it's just one
play here, one play there, the way this game always
always seems to go. But I mean, you know, the defense,
even on that long pass play seemed like they were
in position. It's just somehow the way fluky stuff all sometimes.
Speaker 5 (02:14:01):
Now he can't let people behind you, which we did
several times tonight. So again, you know, we talk all
the time about people having to throw it over our heads.
We constantly, constantly, constantly talk about it, and it happened.
And again that's on me. That's my job to make
sure that we understand it. We can't bust in the back. Okay,
Yes we were in position, but the kid was behind us,
and so we're trying to catch you up again. Really
(02:14:22):
really frustrated with the finish right there. There is no
way to sugarcoat this. We got to go back to work.
And get better, coach, proud of your effort, proud of
the work.
Speaker 6 (02:14:29):
Y'll tell you go Dogs.
Speaker 2 (02:14:30):
All right, that's coach Brian Moore, absolutely obviously frustrated coach
after this one. And we'll take a quick time out
as our postgame show continues again the Tigers winning here
twenty eight to twenty one at Duck Sandford Stadium. We're
back with more right after this here on the kicker,
right here in the postgame show presented TBI Cheff coach
Tran Funeral hallmind Van Riggs alongside coach Spence McCracken. Mac
(02:14:52):
mccrack had been roam with the sidelines tonight, Jeremy till Our,
Spoder and Jason Lee helping US engineer tonight's broadcast a
heartbreaker for the Dogs twenty eight to twenty one the
final as the Tigers win it all. Opelaika was losing
this ballgame twenty one fourteen at the break, but boy, coach,
what a start here to the second half. As Calvin Hugley,
it just took him two carries to go down and
tie the ballgame up at twenty one all. The momentum
(02:15:14):
on the side of Opelaika after another stop by this defense,
Opalika was able to get the football back driving link
to the field almost and it was a seven yard
pass from kolbe Key to Brody Jones at the back
of the end zone, and that gave the Bulldogs the
lead for the time being. When that lead was short
lived twenty one to fourteen, as Auburn quickly answered back
(02:15:35):
with a seventy six yard throw from the quarterback as
he hooked up with number seven and that was Josh
ask You which set up a one yard touchdown run
in by Omar Mabson. And then after that got a
stop and then the Tigers went down and hit another
big pass play in the back of the end zone.
Two huge throws there by Jackson Kilgore, the senior quarterback,
(02:15:57):
was just outstanding when the pressure got put onto the
second half. And like we said, coach, they just made
a couple more plays than this Bulldog offense did tonight
to win the game.
Speaker 6 (02:16:05):
Yes, sir, and they had.
Speaker 3 (02:16:07):
They have a great running back and their quarterback is
very very good and their offensive football team, uh just
a little bit better than us tonight.
Speaker 6 (02:16:17):
You know.
Speaker 3 (02:16:17):
We I'll tell you a couple of things. Van losing
your kicker right before the game. That hurt us with
field position a little bit the whole game. They didn't
lose the game, but I think I told you before
this game, there's gonna be like five or six plays in.
Speaker 6 (02:16:36):
A game that decided the game, and we didn't make.
Speaker 3 (02:16:39):
I think we might have made three, but they had
at least six big plays, just like you're talking about.
The quarterback makes the play throwing from his own thirty
five yard line after we're ahead.
Speaker 2 (02:16:52):
Yeah, I mean, oh and hey, well legit just just
could have been an interception by Kivi and King. He
was in position turned around, but it just went over
his head and the wide receiver was able to come down.
Josh ask you made an unbelievable catch and that tied
the ball game up. And then after that you got
a credit the Tigers. They got the football back with
good field position and they made the defense pay with
(02:17:14):
another good throw into the end zone on a big
play action right out of a timeout, and that gave
Auburn the lead for good twenty eight to twenty one.
But Opalika was driving down the field inside the thirty
yard line out of a timeout and it was a
play action passed by Kolby Key that got batted and
intercepted and Auburn was able to run the clock out.
But the Dogs. I felt like, Coach, we're marching it
down and if we score, I think we're going for
(02:17:35):
two for the win. You know you're going to lay
it on the line there at the end of the
ball game as we got down there with a minute
with the football, you know, nearing the red zone there
of the Tigers. But it was a batted pass that
was a difference maker in this one here tonight, twenty
eight twenty one. Again, our final will have closing comments
as our postgame show continues. After this, you're listening to
Bulldog Football here on the Kicker. Postgame show continues here
(02:18:04):
from Dunk Sanford Stadium, where the Tigers win it tonight
twenty eight to twenty one over the openlank of Bulldogs.
We'll look ahead of the schedules coming up for both
these teams. Next week it'll be two straight home games
for the Bulldogs and fans please make your way to
Bulldog Stadium and cheer these dogs on because as coach
mccrack and I were talking at the break, boy, I'd
hate to be a jag Jaguar next week, rolling into
Bulldog Stadium, Smith's Station the following week at home, so
(02:18:26):
two straight home games before the Dogs go out a
region play for a bit and head to Pike Road.
But a good opportunity here the next couple of weeks
coach for this team to get on the winning streak
here in the region and make it two and one
and stepping out of the region to go play a
good Pike Road team. Before you look in October fourth
and you're heading to a tough matchup against Dothan on
the road. And we know how tough they've been the
past few years, and that Jag is the old Jeff
(02:18:49):
that's right, Yeah, old Jeff Davis. And so that will
be a tough one. You know, you know, bounce back
from this one, but I know Coach Born and staff
are going to be eager to get back to work
and get things back rolling. But a tough on to
night twenty eight to twenty one here from a Duck
Sandford Stadium the Auburn High Tigers next week, They've got
a tough one on the road to go to Enterprise.
(02:19:10):
So that's gonna be a tough one, and one we'll
keep an eye on that'll be a top five showdown
in seven A and another big region. So that's two
back to They've had a really I mean you look
at West Davie Hills opal like an Enterprise in this
three game stretch. And this will be the first road
game for this Tiger team too. Next week and then
they'll get Jag at home before they head to Moody
Central and a home game against Smith Station on the
road at Carver and a home game against Dothan to
(02:19:31):
wrap the season up for the Bulldogs. As we mentioned,
it's JAG, Smith Station at home, on the road at
Pike Road at Dothan, then home against Enterprise in Central
Phoenix City. Those are going to be two key home
games and then on the road at Carver on a
Thursday night to wrap up the season. But again a
tough one tonight. Bulldogs going to have to get back
on track next week at home against Jag twenty eight
to twenty one, the final here from Duck Sandford Stadium.
(02:19:52):
We'll take our final postgame break and we'll come back
and wrap things up after this. Well, this game is
always exciting, always fun, but it's not as fun when
you're on the losing side tonight the Dogs fall here
twenty eight twenty one. It was a sellout crowd here
(02:20:12):
at Duck Sandford Stadium. Coach, the atmosphere is just unmatched
anywhere around high school football. And I know the excitement
leading into this is you know, we're at a high
and boy, this was. It was a tough one here
tonight as the Bulldogs had the lead and let it
slip away as the Tigers made the plays down the stretch,
and it was a big interception there at the end
of the game on a tip pass that ended up
(02:20:32):
being the difference maker as Auburn was able to run
out the clock and hang on to a twenty eight
twenty one win here at Duck Sandford Stadium. Stay tuned.
Coming up next, it's the Encore Rehabilitation High School Scoreboard Show.
That's with Jerry Bavaro and Eddie Owen for Mac McCracken,
Coach Spence McCracken, Jason Lee, our engineer, and our spotder tonight,
Jeremy Till, I'm Van Riggs. Have a great night everybody,
(02:20:53):
and go Dogs.
