Speaker 1 (00:00):
Come out of nowhere and started to fall here on
the turf at Bulldog Stadium. Some sunshine still off in
the distance here, but we got a little sunshine rain
coming down here as we get ready for the home
opener here at Bulldog Stadium against the Callaway Cavaliers. Van
Riggs lawside Coachpennce mccrack and Mac McCracken going to be
a roam with the sidelines tonight. Jason Lee will be
engineering our broadcast, and a boy had an exciting first

(00:20):
game for Brian Morris, head coach at Opelika last week.
The Dogs forty one plays three hundred and thirty four
yards and rushed at thirty three times for two hundred
and ten yards, and kolbe Key didn't ask him, didn't
have to do a whole lot, but what he did
do was big, seven of eight hundred and twenty four yards,
a couple of touchdowns, and the Dogs defense was good
as well and held the Wildcats to just fourteen points

(00:41):
on the night. Benjamin Russell falling to the Opelaka Bulldogs
last week twenty eight to fourteen. The Dogs one to
oh coming into a game against the Callaway Cavaliers and
historically This has been a tight.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
One in this series.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
A two and two overall all time record in this
one for both teams. Fifth meeting in school history, the
last meeting in twenty twenty two OPA like a one
in Callaway twenty nine to twenty eight. An exciting finish
there in that one, as the Bulldogs had to come
from behind and it was a fourth down throw to
Jordan Tolvert which set up the go ahead score, which
was a two point conversion and ended up being enough

(01:13):
as the Dogs held on for a twenty nine twenty
eight win. First beating Callaway won it in twenty eighteen,
thirty five, twenty one, and we can remember that one
coach McCracken as the Tank Bixby coming out party right.

Speaker 3 (01:25):
Oh yes, sir, I remember that one. I remember that
football team. And I tell you what, man, every year
we've played these guys, they've really shown out. They're a
good football team, but I think a very well coached
football team also.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah they are.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Pete Wiggins comes into game.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
This is his twentieth season at Callaway, one eighty eight
and fifty nine eleven seasons with over ten wins, and
he's been at Calloway since two thousand and five one
a state championship in twenty twenty ten region titles under
his belt as well. We are in the pregame show.
When we come back, we're going to have a visit
with head coach Brian Moore. Had a chance to sit

(02:01):
down with coach and we'll get to that just a
ment moment as our pregame show continues. After this time
out your lit'en No, but like a bulldog football here
on the kicker.

Speaker 4 (02:09):
No, it's time for a pregame visit with OPA like
a head football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank.
Now with coach, here's Van Riggs.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
First home game of the season for coach Brian Moore
and coach congratulations first off a big Week one win
last week against benjam and Russell. I know you were
excited to get that win. A lot went into that one.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Yeah, A lot of hard work. I mean, you know,
months and months and months.

Speaker 6 (02:31):
Of prep and uh, just a lot of buy in,
you know, relationship building with both families and players, and
just just proud of the kids.

Speaker 5 (02:39):
You know, we didn't play.

Speaker 6 (02:40):
Our best, played good enough to win and we're resilient
and fought back and had some great moments in the game.
We got to be better, though, but hopefully we'll improve
our most from week one to week two.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Talk about the way Calvin Hugley ran the football for you.
We talked a little about that during the week, but
I mean just one hundred over one hundred yards rushing
on you know, I think it was fourteen carries and
couple of touchdowns for you. But he set the tone
early with that big run.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
Yeah, I mean, obviously, you know, getting off the bus
and hitting the home run on his first run was huge.
He is, He's a dynamic player, and he's got an
opportunity to be a big time college player, and he's
explosive and strong and everything. You know, if you made
a back, if you made one on Xbox, it would
look like Calvin. So, you know, we need him to
play to his standard and to continue to push his

(03:26):
ceiling higher and hire and I'm eager.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
To see if he'll do it back to back weeks.
I really think he's going.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
To yards after contact. I think he got hit in
the backfield several times and still made a five or
six yard gain out of it. And you just can't
coach that can.

Speaker 6 (03:37):
You no, I mean, and there were some plays where
we didn't block it perfectly. You know, we were better
up front than I expected. But Week one is always
really difficult with your offensive line. So Calvin made some
plays on his own. He had his biggest run of
the game was a cutback. It wasn't even really the touchdown.
It was a cutback on Ben Russell's sideline and he
completely cut that against the grain and then spun out
of a tackle and I think it was like a

(03:58):
forty yard run. So again, and he has just been
great all year. He told me, you know, he felt
better than he ever has. He's bought into the weight room,
all the speed and explosive work that we do, and
it's paying off.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
We saw the special player Jamari miller is. We knew
going into the season how special a player he was.
He set that touchdown up on a big kickoff return.
He also had the big reception for a touchdown in
the game.

Speaker 6 (04:20):
Yeah, Jamori is a dynamic player too. You know, he
and Calvin are really the most explosive two that we have.
And you know he's made plays his entire career, kickoff return,
huge touchdown catch.

Speaker 5 (04:31):
We need Jamori to play better without the ball.

Speaker 6 (04:33):
You know, that's another thing we've really worked hard on,
is just blocking, and that's his next step in his progression.
But as far as with the football in his hands,
you know, he's electric.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
A couple of your young guys really good games on offense.
Kobe Key, you didn't ask a lot out of them.
Seven to eight passing though he had two touchdowns and
then one of them went to Jalen Washington, a junior
that that was his first touchdown reception as a Bulldog.
Couldn't have come at a bigger time though.

Speaker 5 (04:54):
Third and thirteen, massive play.

Speaker 6 (04:56):
You know, we've got to kind of, you know, drop
the reins on Kobe a little bit and let it go,
and you know, you know he's he's a guy that
can make plays.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
The moments never too big. He wants the ball, you know,
he wants.

Speaker 6 (05:06):
His opportunity to make plays. Just really proud of him.
Huge moments right there, play action, throw to Jamari and
play and regular drop back to Jalen right there on
a huge third down. We're massive and we'll see CJ.
Sankey some tonight as well. He's took the standard to
play and so he'll have his own packages as well,
so we're excited about Kobe and CJ in their development.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
All right, talk about your defense a little bit, coach,
what stood out for you.

Speaker 5 (05:30):
Just tackling first. You know, we ran to it and tackled.
Weren't perfect.

Speaker 6 (05:33):
You know, we charted some loafs and you know, worked
on those in our championship play series that we put
together each Sunday, but just proud of our kids were
celebrating each other. We played a lot of kids, Our
coaches did a good job rotating pieces. But there's more
in the tank for this defense. I mean, that was
not their best performance. You know, we cut some guys
loose and had some busts that we've got to clean up.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
But there's a lot more for them.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
So I think that they've got a chance to be
an elite defensive football team. We just got to keep growing,
keep buying, keep playing harder and harder, and keep improving
our tackling.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
You know, you're never a finished product in that regard.

Speaker 6 (06:05):
But again, please with game one, but hopefully we'll take
another step forward tonight.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
All right, talk about special teams. I know you did
miss a field goal inches away though from going through
had the good leg on it, just a little off
to the left, and overall the punning night for you
as well.

Speaker 6 (06:17):
Yeah, I mean Johnny just hooked it a little bit,
had plenty of leg from forty seven. But the bigger
thing is we got to clean up a little protection.
We had a run through early in the game that
kind of spooped me off a field goal would have
been a forty four yarder heading the other direction. But
then in the second quarter we took a shot at
it with Johnny. Johnny did kick two in the end zone.
He did kick one out of bounce. We got to
clean up some things, and I thought Zion was okay.

(06:41):
Zion has a huge leg as a punter, and I
told him that on Sunday. I said, man, there's so
much more for you. Just relax and kick it as
his first real game. Punny because Roman handled it last year.
But just love our special teams unit, love our snappers
and Cam Rayley did a great job and his first game.

Speaker 5 (06:57):
As a long snapper, we didn't have any issues there.

Speaker 6 (06:59):
Brody Jones great as the holder, and then obviously we
had the huge return from fat so Jamari always makes
those plays on return.

Speaker 5 (07:05):
So again, please star o special teams.

Speaker 6 (07:07):
There's more in the tank with that group too, but
they're only going to get better and better.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Visit with hey. Coach Brian Moore will continue with a
look at Calaway and we come back here. Listen, tope
like a bulldog football here on the kicker.

Speaker 7 (07:17):

Speaker 8 (07:43):
We thank you for your business.

Speaker 7 (07:44):
We're open lic up Power Services, hometown people working for you.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
For back here as we continue counting down to kick
off just closer to the home opener tonight against the
Callaway Cavaliers and raise alongside coach Brian Moore and coach
when you talk about Callaway, I know this will be
your first meeting against the Cavaliers, but this has been
a tight one two and two overall record against the
Cavaliers from just over in the Lagrange area, and I
know they've had some big playmakers in the past, and

(08:14):
I know these guys are pretty familiar with them on
the team.

Speaker 9 (08:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
I mean, you know, it's an exciting game because it's different,
you know, the border war thing, the Alabama Georgia deal.
You know, you're kind of playing for your state, you know,
in this way, and you know, we're excited that this
is a game that again, like you said, Van, I'm
not familiar with. You know, watched all the games and
heard the coaches talking. But it's been really tight to
a two point conversion type plays to end of the game,

(08:39):
wins and losses, you know, against this group. So you know,
hopefully we can come up with a win tonight. But
this is a quality football team. Coach Wiggins does a
great job, been there a while and won a lot
of football games for them. They're really dynamic and explosive
and so well have to play really well.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
Yeah, I think when you when you play a coach
it's been somewhere for twenty years, like coach Wiggins has
kind of like Coach Grider last week, you know they're
gonna be well coached and do the little things right
for sure.

Speaker 6 (09:03):
I mean, you know he knows those kids he knew
and when they're babies, you know, and so they're gonna
play hard for a guy like that.

Speaker 5 (09:08):
They have tons and tons of trust and consistency with him,
and you know that year after year, you know, they've
got great football teams.

Speaker 6 (09:15):
So again, whoever work cut out for us, it's different,
you know, when you got a guy versus you know,
twenty years and and I'm in my second game so here,
so it's a it's a different dynamic. But again, hopefully
we play well and continue to get better as we
get towards region play.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
Now, this is kind of like your first game all
over again. Last last week you had your first game,
and this is your first home game. It's kind of like,
here we go all over again.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
There's no doubt, and that gives you a level of excitement.

Speaker 6 (09:39):
You know, our fans will come out and be loud
and proud, and and you know to see Bulldog Stadium,
the renovated version, and hopefully to see our renovated football team.
You know that that has we work so hard to
build and you know, again, I hope we played better tonight.
This is kind of again like game one, coming home
and being able to walk out.

Speaker 5 (09:59):
There that'll be a surreal moment for me personally.

Speaker 6 (10:01):
But just excited about seeing our crowd and our band
and our cheerleaders and everybody involved with the program. Just
appreciate all the work that's going in to make this
play special.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Coach, good luck to I appreciate the visitors always and
go Dogs.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Thanks Van Godogs.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Hey, Coach Brian Moore, we come back. More of the
countdown to kickoff on the way you're listening to Bulldog
football here on the kicker all right, it is time
for keys to the gamers and the vine. Glenn Smith
Chevy GM singing Oplon could get ready to smile. Coach McCracken.
For coach Brian want to gain win number two tonight
here at Bulldog Stadium. It almost feels like his first
game all over again because it is the first home game.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
What does he got to do tonight?

Speaker 9 (10:37):
I think this is good.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
The defense is gonna set the tone for this game.
I think that we in fact, I know that we've
got to stop their running game. Their quarterback likes to
run the ball. And stop their running game. Don't give
up any big plays. Well, we gave up a fourteen
yard play that was the longest one that Benjamin Russell had.

(11:00):
And we need them to create negative plays.

Speaker 8 (11:03):
And get turnovers.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
We got one turnover last week, but let's get some
negative plays and not have any stupid defensive penalties on offense.

Speaker 8 (11:15):
We need to convert on third and fourth down conversions.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
We don't need to have any turnovers, no stupid penalties.

Speaker 8 (11:25):
Make big plays, and a big play.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
To Coach Riggs and I is a run over ten
and a pass over fifteen. And then the special teams,
I would love to see us block a punt. If
you block a punt in a close game, there's an
eighty five percent chance you're gonna win that game. That's
how demoralizing that is to another team. See if we

(11:49):
can get a punt return to the house tonight and
not have any penalties on our kicking game. And finally, finally,
the first I told you all this last week, and
we didn't do real good in the third quarter, but
we got to have the first five minutes of the game.
The Dogs need to win. The last five minutes of

(12:09):
the half, the Dogs need to win. The first five
minutes to the third quarter, the Dogs need to win.
They got a twenty minute rest and then the last
five minutes of the game, we win those four and
then play really good solid football, Van, I think we'll
come out on top.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Dogs won the first five minutes of the game, and
they won the last five minutes of the game. They
didn't win the first five minutes to start the second
half last week, and that shifted the momentum drastically in
that game against Benjamin Russell.

Speaker 3 (12:37):
Absolutely, And you know we kicked off our kicker kicked
it in the end zone and they got it on
the twenty and they scored in eight snaps. I believe
that's right in that third quarter, and you know we
had to battle back really hard after that.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
All right, that's Coach McCracken's Keys to the Game, presented
Mike Glensmiths Chevy GM seeing opal I could get ready
to smile. Our pregame show continues on, presented by Frederick
Dean Funeral Home. After this time out, you're listening to
Bulldog football here on the Kicker Nasal Anthem here Bulldog Stadium.

(13:51):
Van Riggs alongside coach Spence McCracken. Mag McCracken on the
sidelines tonight and he'll be bringing us our four seasons
Federal Credit Union Sideline report, saying Jason Lee will also
be spotting in engineering tonight's broadcast. We're glad you're with
us here as we get ready for the home opener
tonight here at Bulldogs Stadium. As we visited with coach
Brian Moore throughout the week, one thing he said, it's
almost like game one all over again. You go on

(14:12):
the road, you play your first game as a head
coach of a new school, and then you come for
the home game, the first home game, the excitement is back. Coach,
you got to be able to channel that in with
these guys as well here tonight, because I know these
guys are going to be fired up again here like
it's game number one all over again. But you got
to come out and play sound and know we're gonna
hopefully maybe give a little bit more to Colby Keith
tonight in this offense to maybe take a few more

(14:35):
shots through the air. And but when you run the
ball like the Bulldogs did last week, coach, you look
at what Calvin did on the ground, sixteen carries, one
hundred and forty five yards and two touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Pretty hard to argue with that.

Speaker 8 (14:48):
That is s forty van and I'll tell you what
this is going to be.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
A After we got back from Benjamin Russell, I thought
it was three to four week before we were going
to play another game. That's how long it seemed. And
I was so glad we're right back up here now
and ready to go.

Speaker 8 (15:08):
Now we correct those mistakes we made from last week.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
We ought to be fine all right right now in
game conditions brought to you by First Baptist Church, opal
Like a Proudnessport Opalika Schools. If you can't make it
to church, listen to the entire worship service every Sunday
at eleven am here on the Kicker, and plenty of
worship options for you at eleven thirty nine, forty five
and eleven o'clock. Right now, we're looking at ninety one.
Still overcast, guys. There is a chance of some showers

(15:32):
in the area, about a seventy percent shot right now.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
We've had some clowns over.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Us from time to time, some bright skies still often
to the distance, so hopefully we can keep at least
a dry and no thunder and lightning here hopefully, but
at summertime and those things can pop up when we
come back. We'll have your coin toss as we continue
here in the pregame show presented by Frederick Dean Funeral Home.
We're back after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog
football right here on the Kicker. Welcome back here to

(16:04):
Bulldog Stadium. Van Riggs, Coach Pitz, mccrack and mccrack and
Jason Lee coming to you tonight, bringing you the action
our pregame show presented to you by Frederick Dean Funeral Halt.
And we're just about ready for tonight's coin toss. But
before we get there, let's pall ten seconds for station identification.

Speaker 10 (16:19):
J w KKR Auburn Open is Lee County's Best Country
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM and iHeart Country station.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Not a better place to be tonight here than Bulldog
Stadium for this home opener. Here we've got opland like
a roaming the sidelines tonight. We've got all sorts of fans. Coach.
I'm seeing folks I haven't seen here bulldog games and
a few years. So it's going to be a packed
house here on the home side and visiting side. A
little thin right now, but I got a feeling it
will fill up as we go on. Of course, callaway

(16:52):
on the Eastern time zone as well. And first chance
we're going to see the lights show here is the
lights start to dim here at Bulldog Stadium. We're gonna
see those red lights. The fans here have not yet
had a chance to see this. For those watching on
the NFHS network, they're gonna get a good view of
them as well. We've got your coin toss coming up
here on the way next. Well, Paul's right now back
after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football right

(17:14):
here on the kicker number six, Kelvin hibley Um. All right,
we're back at Bulldog Stadium. Time for tonight's coin toss.
It's presented to you by Rentals Outdoors. Let's head down
on the field. Mac McCracken with our judge there is
he reached both sides Bulldogs in the red jerseys, Calloween

(17:35):
and white tops. Now I'm gonna be your referee. This
is Wes Buller.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
He's gonna be your own power.

Speaker 9 (17:40):
All right.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
You were in charge of your teammates on the field.

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Make sure everybody behaves.

Speaker 5 (17:44):
We're gonna play with sportsmanlike conduct tonight.

Speaker 8 (17:46):
Is that right?

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Sir, all right, callaway.

Speaker 9 (17:50):
Visiting team heads or tails?

Speaker 2 (17:52):
What's the call? Tails?

Speaker 8 (17:54):
Is the call in his tail?

Speaker 9 (17:59):
The ball? All right?

Speaker 1 (18:01):
Which in do you want to defend? You gonna you're
gonna kick that way? Listen, all right, all right, so calloway,
we'll get the football to start. So we'll see this
Bulldog defense out on the field first up, and the
Bulldogs will uh defend the end zone to our right
and callowe will defend the end zone to the left.
Captains for tonight Jackson Lee offensive lineman for the Bulldog's

(18:24):
Carson Moss, Calvin Hughley, Inn Tyler Moore. Kick off on
the way. Next you're listen to Nople like a Bulldog
football right here on the Kicker promo video firing up
here at Bulldogs Stadium as we see some highlights from
the Benjamin Russell game last week, mixed in with some

(18:46):
graphics and video of the Bulldogs in the locker room.
Firing up the crowd here, the likes have turned the
red and we're just about ready for football here in
Opal like a back mccracking down on the sidelines. Mac.
I know we had some special captains down on the
field before the one.

Speaker 9 (19:00):
Yeah we did.

Speaker 11 (19:01):
I mean that was phenomenal have of them out there
to be recognized for this great city. But hey, coach
Moore had them going in there before the locker room and.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
Said he wants to see some consistency tonight.

Speaker 8 (19:14):
More consistency, turn it up another level.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
And let's go get the w all right, And just
with that sound, the Bulldogs take the field. Bulldogs wearing
the red tops, white numbers outlined in black, white pants
and red helmets with the Dogs script on each side
of the helmet in black. Calloway white pants, white tops,
black numbers outlined in red. It'll be black helmets with

(19:38):
the black sea much like the Chicago Bear logo. It's
actually a maroon sea, very shiny and look just like
the Chicago Bears. Out there on the field. They will receive.
They'll receive to our left and we will kick from
the right side. Here a Bulldogs stadium, so Calloway will
be receiving the football moven left to right.

Speaker 3 (19:58):
I want to see mistress the scene of popped this
one in the end zone van no doubt about it.

Speaker 8 (20:06):
And this is I the first five.

Speaker 3 (20:08):
Minutes of the game. We need to own the first
five minutes. I'll Johnny, I'll get the starting defensive lineup.
What's the kickoffs gone?

Speaker 1 (20:23):
The spirit of the house is sound, declined, The balls
on the tea up and draw on their feet.

Speaker 8 (20:28):
Now it's time to big.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Public address announcer Eddio and firing the crowd up here
at Bulldog Stadium, Johnny has a teat up from right
to left as he gets ready to light it up
and put a total leather and we're just about ready
for the home opener here a Bulldog Stadium, Johnny good,
kick end over end, It will sail and be taken
at the one yard line and it will be returnable
at the tea. But a nice hit there at the
twelve yard line. Coming up and making the stop there

(20:55):
for the Bulldogs was Caden Harris, number forty eight, and
he got to the number twelve. Briston Sanders who was
on that return.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Now front line for the Bulldogs number ninety junior, TJ.
Thomas Jakail like front, Malay Autree and Amars Smiley up front,
Ty Hudson and Tyler Moore at linebackers, Devin Dixon and
Court Ingram at the corners, Carts and Moss at strong
safety Tyrase Pitts and Kivian King.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Are you safeties, They'll say it's the thirteen yard line.
Is the line of scrimmage. It'll be first down and ten.
So Callaway's quarterback out of the shotgun will be blank
Harrington a six ft one and eighty five pounds junior.
And there's a timeout on the field and a flying

(21:46):
down on the play. Now, I think it's a side
line warning right off the bat here on Oplaika.

Speaker 10 (21:54):
Old Blake, I penalized five yards.

Speaker 8 (21:56):
I'll side he's down five kry Lee.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
All right, So that was a sideline. It was a
penalty off calide.

Speaker 8 (22:11):
If somebody was off sides up front, I couldn't catch it.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Oh offsides on Opalaiko. So five yard penalty.

Speaker 9 (22:22):
All right.

Speaker 1 (22:22):
So to be first down in fifteen line of scrimmage
now is the eighteen yard line, and we're still waiting
for them to spot the football. I think we got
it now. Harrington, the quarterback for Callaway, first and ten,
empty backfield, nearly dropped down, drops back close one deep downfield,
and it's incomplete. He tried to get it to Cayden

(22:45):
James wide receiver down the far side of the field,
but it's out of bounds near the fifty yard line.
Incomplete Harrington, Kat and King and good comverage there for
the Bulldogs.

Speaker 8 (22:54):
Good coverage, decent past rush.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
I'm a thirteen tyvers pitch well coach. We see Coach
Wiggins go for a shot in the air going on
the deep ball there, good defense there by Bulldogs.

Speaker 8 (23:06):
Yeah, he's going back. Got a backpacker with him this time.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
Yeah, one back set that will move man in motion
at that time. Callaway moved, So there's a flag on
the play. I think the right side of that line
got a head start there. Yeah, they move and that
will back them back to the twelve yard line, all
right at the thirteen, so it will be second down
and ten here for Callaway. Opening at drive of the

(23:32):
game here for the Cavaliers, were just underway here first
quarter action here from Bulldog Stadium, Opike in Calloway. Harrington
is the quarterback out of the shotgun. One back sent
to the ride. It'll be a give to Kennedy, the tailback,
and he has swallowed up in the backfield. Checked that
that was not Kennedy. That was Cavius Leonard and he
was tackled by the linebacker Tyler Moore for no gain

(23:53):
on the play. It'll be third down and ten.

Speaker 3 (23:55):
Third down ten, and we'll go third down conversion right here,
Van good stop there.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
I tell you, coach, those linebackers had a game last week.
I guess Benjamin Russell, that kid got hit the too
great job. That's not the starting tailback. That's a he's
a senior, but not the one that got a lot
of carries last week. Kavius Leonard, the tailback, remains in there.
This will be Harrington rolling right. He got pressure, throws
deep down field, it's picked off by the Bulldogs and

(24:23):
Devin Dixon comes up with the interception at the thirty
two yard line, picked off by the Bulldogs. Big time
interception there by Opelaika.

Speaker 8 (24:34):
Hey, he got rushed too. My defensive end over there
on that side.

Speaker 2 (24:39):
Now, Mauri Smiley was bringing that pressure.

Speaker 8 (24:41):
Smiley put the WMI on him right when he released
the ball.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
So Callowey turned it over early in their first game
of the season against cass They do so here as well.
Bulldogs will have it first and ten at the Calloway
thirty two thanks to that interception by Devin Dixon.

Speaker 8 (24:58):
All right, let's get some good offense going right.

Speaker 1 (25:01):
Here now, Kolbe Key out of the shotgun. He'll have
a receiver either side. Calvin Hugly is the tailbag. H
Hugly gets the handoff left side. He's got some runner
in with the twenty five twenty Hugly hurtles.

Speaker 8 (25:11):
A man say.

Speaker 1 (25:12):
He's on his feet inside the ten. He's inside the five,
and Hugly is down to the three yard line. Brandon
Sellers finally tracked him down, but not before Calvin Hugly
got all the way down inside the ten. He's down
to the four yard line.

Speaker 9 (25:26):
Man.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
That's the same play they ran against Benjamin Russell on
the first play, that sweet back to the left side.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
That is a twenty six yard run by Calvin Hugly
right off the bat, and they go to Calvin again.
He's inside the five. Calvin down to the three yard line,
picked up a yard all the play. Caden James comes
up with a stop there for the Cavaliers. Second down
and goal here for the Bulldogs inside the five, down
at the four is what they'll say. No gain on
the play.

Speaker 8 (25:56):
Come on, guys, gotta punch it in here now.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
High formation here for Colby Key out of the shotgun
keep wearing number five tonight. Boy, he just keeps changing
numbers on this, doesn't he high formation, Key hands the
ball off to Hugly. He's a good comes down Calvin Hugly.
Nine fifty left here at our opening quarter, and again
the Bulldog's march it right down the field and scored.

Speaker 2 (26:22):
And it's again.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Calvin Hugly toting the rock for the Bulldogs coach thirty
two yards and a touchdown so far for Calvin huglid
oh Man, that's a big play. And here's a swinging

(26:44):
gate look here by Opelaika. We'll see if they decide
to go for two. Know they'll line up now and
a regular point after a formation as Johnny Sassina comes
over now to attempt the extra point. Snap good and
the kick is up and the boar. It is good
dogs on top. Seven of them that drive. Power by
a friends at open like a power services hometown, people
working for you. It's open like a seven callaway nothing

(27:07):
nine to forty nine left in the first quarter. We're
back after this time out.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Here on the kicker.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Bull carries into the zone. Kick by Johnny Cassina goes
into the zone. So a good start for the Bulldogs.
It was Calvin Hugly toting the rock thirty two yards
on that opening drive of the game, all by Calvin Hugley,
and he finished it off with a four yard touchdown
run the Bulldog's lead at seven to nothing. Here and
it is Colby key at number five there, So key

(27:34):
board number two in the opening game. Where's number five
here in the Red Jerseys. Maybe it's just a sizing
issue tonight, I'm not sure, but we'll see the offense
come out here for Callaway and they'll start from there
on twenty yard line. Callaway turned it over an interception
by Devin Dixon at the thirty two yard line, which
set up that Bulldog touchdown. So Blake Harrington with an interception.

(27:55):
It'll start with a wide out to the left, hard count,
defense shifts over. They'll bring a man in motion on
a speed sweep far side of the field. Wrote one tackle,
but not the second tackle, just a two or three
yard pickup there. Number three thirteen pitch Tyreee Pits on
the stop for the Bulldogs three yard That was Bryston

(28:18):
Sanders on that speed sweep. They gained almost three yards,
so it'll be second down. And seven as they did
spot the ball up to the twenty three yard line,
So second out and seven here for the Cavaliers. They're
on at twenty seven as a trail here seven nothing
with nine sixteen in our opening quarter of play, empty

(28:38):
in the backfield. Quarterback's hit, he's let us the football
and the Bulldogs started at the nineteen yard line. Omari
Smiley stripped it and comes up with it for the Bulldogs.
And another turnover here for Callaway and another one right
at the This one's going to be at the Bulldog
right at the Callaway eighteen yard line.

Speaker 3 (28:58):
Yeah, that Smiley, some penetration on that one. We got
a big size advantage on them on the defense. Their
offensive line is not real big. I didn't think they were.
But hey, that's two turnovers in the first four minutes
of the game. This is a great five minute excuse me,
great chance to get out in front by fourteen here.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
All right, So Calvin Hughley in the backfield again with
kolbe king at the eighteen yard line of Callaway. Key
will throw here near sign Jamari Miller's got it at
the fifteen. Jamori touch it at the ten. He's ending
ins for the Bulldog touchdown. Another touchdown, one throw, one catch,
eighteen yard touchdown strike and it's key to Jamari Miller

(29:41):
for the Bulldog touchdown. Dogs wasting no time tonight, Coach McCracken. No, sir,
that's two big plays off two turnovers. Yes, sir, it
don't get any better than that. Now, great throw, great catch, execution,

(30:03):
the whole thing. Here comes a point after attempt from
Johnny Cecina. So at nine oh one remaining here in
this first quarter of play, the Dogs now up fourteen nothing.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
After that point after goes through, and that scoring.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Driven power by open La like a power services hometown
people working for you online at open La like a
power dot com. Dogs on top fourteen nothing. We're back
after this time out right here on the kicker. Here's
a kick by Johnny Cecina and it goes into the

(30:41):
endzone on a four to eight touchback. Dogs on top
fourteen nothing, nine oh one still to go here in
this first quarter of play. Two turnovers by Callaway and
both very costly, one at the thirty two and one
at the eighteen yard line in there on territory of
the Dogs. Quickly turn those into touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
Coach Yeah, you can't, Van, You cannot ask for a
better start than this.

Speaker 8 (31:02):
You got you up by two touchdowns.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
And just keep the pressure on him, keep the pressure
on him, keep playing the great defense.

Speaker 8 (31:12):
Right now they have one yard rushing three.

Speaker 1 (31:16):
Carris Devin Dixon with an interception and it was Amari
Smiley stripping the ball from the quarterback. The last time out,
here's Harrington the quarterback out of the shot gun, empty
backfield pressure comes. He dumps off a screen passage read
nicely by the Bulldogs and a good stop there by
the Bulldogs. That was Josh Davis coming over making the
stop for Opelaika and good pressure from that side again.

(31:39):
Amory Smiley is putting some heat on that quarterback. He
has got to get rid of it in a hurry.

Speaker 8 (31:44):
He's coming from down here on the field side.

Speaker 9 (31:46):
Man.

Speaker 8 (31:46):
I wouldn't want to get.

Speaker 9 (31:47):
In his way.

Speaker 1 (31:48):
Yeah, he gets a breather another. That quarterback is happy
for that. That was just a two yard pickup up
to the twenty two. Now it'll be second down and
eight for the Cavaliers. They trail fourteen nothing with eight
twenty six play action. Quarterback Harrington, near side pressure comes,
throws a deep bomb across the middle and it is incomplete. Boy,
he just overshot Kate and James. That was a good

(32:09):
looking throw from the quarterback who did take a hit
there after that one completely. So it'll be third down
and eight coming up here for the Cavaliers coax. That
was a good looking throw. He just led him too far,
you know, you know, they got just enough pressure on
make him rush that.

Speaker 8 (32:27):
Just little over through that ball. That was close.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
All right. We'll be checking in with mc McCracken coming
up here in just a moment with a four season's
Federal Credit Union sideline report.

Speaker 8 (32:37):
There's your third down conversion right here.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Van Harryton out of the shotgun here on third and
eight from his on twenty two drops back, pressure, steps
up in the pocket, throws across the middle and again
just miss Kate and James across the middle. Overshoting there again,
but good pressure by the Bulldogs again force that in
complete pass. It was Ty Hudson bringing the heat on
that quarterback. It's fourth and eight and here come the

(33:00):
punting team for the first time for the Cavaliers, and
their kicking game is very interesting on film. They bring
in a one of their linebackers really defensive end number
forty four. Noah, Heart that will be punning it.

Speaker 8 (33:20):
Oh of two on third down conversions.

Speaker 2 (33:24):
Heart punts it away.

Speaker 8 (33:26):
Oh they are running this.

Speaker 2 (33:27):
Oh don't finish this shit quiz.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Oh goodness, Johnson catch.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
I think he regrets it.

Speaker 8 (33:34):
Coach, I think, yeah, he could have run that one
that he had plenty of time.

Speaker 1 (33:38):
First time. Quez has been back there to return puns.
But no problem there. Dogs will start from their own
forty six. This is the worst field position Oplaika has had,
which will be there on forty six yard line. So
not much you can complain about there. Eight oh eight
opening quarter of play. Dogs on top of callaway fourteen
to nothing.

Speaker 8 (33:55):
Keep pressure own Vans, keep it on. Let's go.

Speaker 3 (33:59):
We got thirty six yards rushing, eighteen yards passing, two touchdown.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Two white outs, left side of the field. It is
Jordan Wait's the tailback. Now Blake Johnson comes in there.
Big fellow will get the hand on Blake Johnson as
he moved in motion and only pick up a yard.
That was a good stomp there by the Cavaliers. That's
Zay Anderson on the stop, the linebacker coming in for
the Cavs.

Speaker 8 (34:20):
Yeah, we didn't block anybody up the middle of them.
I gotta get this offense here.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
So the Bulldogs from there on a forty seven yard line,
it'll be second down and nine just a yard pickup.
Empty backfield here for kolbe Key's got two white outs
either sign Key drops back throws and good ballts caught
far side of the field by the by the half
back Jordan Wakes, who's out of bounds inside the forty
down to the thirty eight yard line. That's good for
a Lambert transfer in storage, first down, fifteen yard pickup

(34:51):
there for the Bulldogs.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
So for we've got Tremaine Thomas, Kyle Epperson, Jackson, Lee,
Dash Whitlow, and David Miller up front of the Dogs, and.

Speaker 1 (35:01):
Jordan Waits stays in there at the tailback spot. Two
receivers left, single receiver to the right side. Johnson stays
in there as the blocking back. They'll move a man
in motion handed to Waits. Waits tipsows through the line.
He's down to the thirty four yard line. He'll pick
up four yards on the ground. This will bring up a.

Speaker 8 (35:22):
Looked like he made four.

Speaker 2 (35:23):
Yeah, I think they're gonna give him three. It's like
second and seven.

Speaker 8 (35:27):
Kobe Lee's your quarterback.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Colvin Hughley, Brody Jones, Jabar Miller, Blake Johnson, and Bennett.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
Young down to the thirty four yard line. Second down
in seven again, man in motion from right to left,
play action. Key dumps it off. He's got Washington near side.
Jalen's inside the twenty at the fifteen. Just tripped up
at the thirteen yard line. Great cats there by Jalen Washington,
number two.

Speaker 10 (35:52):
Zero, Obiah Donna.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
See where they marked that one down. It looks like
they're gonna mark it down at the twelve yard line.
How many yards on you?

Speaker 2 (36:01):
That's a twenty two yard hook up there to Jalen Washington.

Speaker 8 (36:04):
Excellent, excellent.

Speaker 2 (36:06):
Dogs are in the Auburn Bank red zone.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
Now, first down and ten at the twelve of callaway,
man in motion, hand off to Jordan Wakes, no play action.

Speaker 2 (36:16):
Key rolls right, eight throws. He's got a man.

Speaker 1 (36:18):
It's caught at Slade Clayton and he's cut down at
the two yard line. Dives ahead of the end zone.
They'll say he's down at the one. My goodness, I
thought he got in there. Clayton's save Clayton's first reception
and Slade will setting up a first and goal at
the one yard line. So the big fellow goes in

(36:39):
motion there and almost got him a touchdown, yes, sir,
and I will see that old school lie formation.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
Blake Johnson.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Blake goes two forty now yep, and waits will dot
the I key hands it the big fellow. He's in touchdown.
Blake chasing hurdles a man in the end zone for
the Bulldog touchdown, and the opal like a rolling right now.
Six to eleven left in the first quarter, twenty to
nothing over the calves and the point pitt point after
coming up here from Johnny Casina. Lights show a little

(37:10):
bit clear now that the sun has set here at
Bulldog Stadium. Six eleven remaining here in this first quarter.

Speaker 8 (37:17):
It's raining over that way. Don't bring it over here, coach.

Speaker 9 (37:21):
That's right.

Speaker 8 (37:26):
Wow, boy, that's good offense right here.

Speaker 1 (37:28):
Van Rick, it certainly is. Dogs goes swinging gate and
here is Johnny Cecina for the point after attempt Rody
Jones to hold Cam Rayley's your snapper on the extra
point up and good. That's a heck of an open
like a power service a scoring drive started at the
Dogs on at forty six. They march it down the
field and punch it in again twenty one nothing over

(37:49):
the callaway Cavaliers first quarter, six eleven remaining here in
the first let's head down on the field for a
four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
And that is mister Mac McCracken.

Speaker 1 (37:58):
Yeah, it's a happy sign lines right now.

Speaker 11 (38:01):
You know, just like Coach Moore doted of, he said, listen, consistency,
and you know, our very first opener driver right there.
We got the all sides penalty right which pushed us back,
and then we answered the interception fumble recovery offense punched
it in. And even though everything's going right for the
Dogs at twenty one or nothing, coach mass is still
with the defense working out some kinks, so they could

(38:23):
still be getting better. Same with the offense with coach
Fleming with the offensive line calling out different blocking schemes.
So you know, nobody's satisfied, which you shouldn't be. We've
got a long ball game to go, but great sideline
right now, Van, And there's.

Speaker 1 (38:37):
A celebrity on the field to Mac, I'm not sure
if you know this, but Jerry Bavarro from the high
school scoreboard show. I see him down on the field.
If you get a chance, maybe you can get a
picture with him.

Speaker 8 (38:46):
Oh, you people need to come out there to the
Poe area. You all need to come down of the
pine Cross is quite GoF with coach Bavarrow.

Speaker 1 (38:54):
There you go, fifty yard line, mac as you can find.
You can find mister Bivarro there.

Speaker 8 (39:00):
I see he's got his wife Kim with him.

Speaker 9 (39:02):
There you go.

Speaker 1 (39:04):
All right, So there's a heat time out on the field.
We'll take one as well. We're back after this time out.
Dogs on top twenty one nothing here a Bulldog stadium.
We're back after this.

Speaker 9 (39:12):
Here on the kicker.

Speaker 1 (39:19):
Hopeful I is wasted no time tonight, jumping out to
a three score lead here over the callaway Cavaliers. It
is twenty one nothing in six to eleven remaining here
in this first quarter. And here's a kick by Johnny Cecina.
His legs should be warmed up good by now. They'll
let this one. Just rolling the end zone and hit
at the three yard line, but rolled on in the
end zone.

Speaker 8 (39:37):
Somebody should have caught the hat.

Speaker 1 (39:40):
Well, we'll take it, coach, that's right. The call start
from their own twenty yard line here trailing by three scores.
And coach, I tell you what has been pressured by
this defense. They weren't able to get the defensive line
was not able to get to Benjiam Russell's quarterback last week.
I know that was a concern. And that's a huge
improvement here from week one to week two.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
Yes, there lots of pressure, really really good pressure. That's
three zone kicks by Cecina.

Speaker 9 (40:03):
And let's see if we.

Speaker 1 (40:04):
Can Tremaine Thomas Malik Autrey. It's Jakai likefoot.

Speaker 8 (40:11):
Yeah, and we and they got they.

Speaker 3 (40:12):
Braden Stintson, Carmel Torbert, Josh Davis and Jordan Stintson are
the twos. He's gonna play all eight of those guys.
He told me before the game.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Smiley's been in there and really getting to this quarterback
empty back set. They'll do a quick throw and catch
down the side lines. It is hauled in and called.
That's gonna be a six yard pick up up to
the twenty six yard line. A quick throw in catch
to Jeremiah done the wide receiver there for callaway. So
to be second down in four and you can tell
what coach Wiggan wants to do right now, get the

(40:41):
ball out of the hands of the quarterback quick because
he knows this pressure is coming from this dog defensive line.

Speaker 9 (40:46):
Yes, Sir.

Speaker 1 (40:49):
Tremaine Thomas Autrey like Foote Smiley, He'll throw this one
empty back set again and a quick pump fake. Now
the quarterback is gonna try to run, and he is
here and he's brought down. He will not escape Tremaine Thomas,
who brings him down to the backfield for a three
yard loss.

Speaker 8 (41:06):
That happens to be. Oh, that's great play.

Speaker 1 (41:12):
So Harrington goes backwards on that play.

Speaker 8 (41:18):
What he lose two?

Speaker 1 (41:20):
I think three yards there to be to be third
down and six, well two yards officially, so a third
down and six coming up here for the Cavaliers. Ball
is at their on a twenty four yard line. Yeah,
I got to chuck it here, and here's Harrington out
of the shotgun formation. Pressure comes, dumps it off far

(41:41):
sidelines on his butt and he caught it at the
thirty eight yard line. That was a heck of the
grab by number two. Jeremiah done a callaway. He went
down to the ground and just caught it right at
the thirty eight. Well that's a callaway first down. How
many yards you get on that vand fourteen? Okay, that's

(42:01):
two first downs?

Speaker 8 (42:02):
A here we go.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
That was just a tough break there by the Bulldogs.
Just a really good play there by callaway Harrington out
of the shot and gun here on first and ten
from his own thirty eight quarterback, keeper straight up the middle,
tough running, and as he carries it up to the
forty one yard line, he got three tough yards before
Carson Moss comes in there, the linebacker and makes the stop.

Speaker 8 (42:22):
I think he got about four on that, didn't he.

Speaker 1 (42:26):
Hell, it looks like they did give him four.

Speaker 8 (42:29):
Take down seven, all right, we got it. Got to
bowl up right here now.

Speaker 1 (42:33):
Yeah, they gave him the forty two yard line, so
it'll be second down and six. Harrington out of the
shot gun, steps up, throws a quick one down the
far side lines. It is hauled in, it is caught
by Kate and James. He's got another first down up
close to midfield here for the Cavaliers. He got the
forty nine yard line, and that is a seven yard
pickup and a first down. Court Ingram comes up, makes
the stop first and ten Cavaliers near midfield. Now from

(42:55):
there on forty nine got a little something going on
the quick passes.

Speaker 8 (42:58):
That's three first downs all these passes and quick passes.

Speaker 2 (43:06):
Dogs on top twenty one to nothing.

Speaker 1 (43:08):
Where four twenty nine left here in this first quarter
of play, Harrington out of the shotgun here for callaway
is near midfield from their own forty nine yard line,
hand off and hit in the backfield. Nice stop there,
Mary Smiley in there on the stop for the Bulldogs.
Along with them are ninety six Malik Altry.

Speaker 8 (43:26):
Front's really doing well, really doing well. Christ Kennedy the
bullcarry second and twelve.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
That was actually Kennedy, the tailback who was on the
carry there. That was a two yard loss second down
in twelve. Now ball spotted back to the forty six
yard line second down and long dropping back quarterback Harrington
Heness he throws nearly picked up there by the Bulldogs.
He took a shot he shirt in that was almost
intercepted by Norman Matthews, a junior defensive back for the Bulldogs.

Speaker 8 (44:00):
High Lightfoot just about took his head off them.

Speaker 1 (44:03):
Man, Very good call, Whitefoot. I tell you he's been
playing out of that out of his mind here the
first first game in a quarter.

Speaker 8 (44:10):
I would hate for him to hit me.

Speaker 2 (44:12):
He is a big fellow.

Speaker 9 (44:13):
Coach.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
Should gracis six to three and fifteen pounds senior.

Speaker 8 (44:17):
Here's your third down conversion, third and eleven. It's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (44:21):
A throw callaway from there on a forty six yard line.
They'll play action. Harrington again hit as he throws down
the middle, but it has caught this time of the
thirty eight yard line, inside the thirty and down to
the twenty six yard line. On the reception was Bryceton
sandyor at Sanders and hey give it to Harrington. Stayed
in the pocket again and made a nice throw down
to the twenty six.

Speaker 8 (44:43):
How many yards you get on that man?

Speaker 2 (44:46):
That was a twenty eight yard pickup in a first
down for callaway.

Speaker 9 (44:49):
That's first down and a big play.

Speaker 8 (44:53):
Come on, guys.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
Oh, they're getting pressure on the quarterback, but he's staying
in there. And one thing, one thing I heard from
the Allway folks. Harrington, he's a starting pitcher on the
baseball team. He's an athlete and he is a gamer.
They said he's tough and he's going to stay in there.
We see it right now, first down and ten for
the twenty six yard line. They'll give it on the
speed sweep, no faked, and the quarterback Harrington runs it

(45:14):
down to the twenty yard line. They may give them
the nineteen depending on the spy that was six yards.
Josh Davis comes in there and makes the stop. So
it's second down in four. Two point fifty eight left
here in the first quarter. Second down in four here four.
The Callaway Cavaliers changing their play as they're getting the

(45:40):
right personnel in on the field. Number six is a
good receiver, Caden James. He's going to line up to
the left of Harrington. Twenty one nothing, Bulldogs with the lead,
but the Cabs have their first good drive of the
game going right now. Two turnovers here for the Callaway Cavaliers.
Early in this one, Harrington moves a man in motion
to right and left. They'll give it to the tailback

(46:01):
and this one is born dead delay of the game.
I think I think time out taken by Callaway. Yeah,
time out taken by coach Wiggins will take one as well.
Two twenty three left here in the first quarter, and
Bulldog's on top. Twenty one nothing. We're back after this
time out. You're listening to bulldog football here on the kicker.

(46:24):
Calloway trails Oplaika twenty one to nothing, but they've got
something going here with two twenty three left in the
first quarter. They've got the ball spoted down at the
twenty one Now of Opalaika, facing a second down and
four here, out of a timeout, Stamp goes to the tailback.
I tackle there no gain on the play. Maybe got
a yard, as Amari Smiley immediately tackled the tailback.

Speaker 2 (46:46):
When he got the handoff.

Speaker 8 (46:47):
I don't think he got anything.

Speaker 2 (46:48):
I don't think so either.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
There's gonna be a third and four, and I tell
you what, Coach Wiggins is going to go for it
on fourth down here too. I can tell you that.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
So this is four down territory all the way here
by the Cavaliers.

Speaker 8 (46:57):
Yeah, here's your third day.

Speaker 1 (47:01):
So Harrington is out of the shotgun. The tailback is
Antavius Reeves, a junior to his right.

Speaker 8 (47:06):
He's gonna throw this one van.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
He'll empty the backfield.

Speaker 1 (47:09):
Now Reeves goes out, he'll pump fake it and then
throws and nearly intercept it. But it is hooked up
and caught at the fifteen yard line, right at the
first down marker for a first down. That was hooked
up with number six Kate and James and Devin Dixon
in there on the coverage for the Bulldogs.

Speaker 2 (47:23):
But it's another first down for Callaway Dixon.

Speaker 1 (47:27):
Cavalier first down and they got it down to the
right at the sixteen yard line for five yards enough
for the first downe first down and ten for Callaway
one at twenty five left in the first quarter. Cams,
a really nice drive here, gutsy performance by this quarterback
Blake Harrington. Two whiteouts left side now emptied the backfield

(47:49):
pump fake Harrington's temble any sack a Maori Smiley no
check that that was Tremaine Thomas sitting there on the seat.

Speaker 9 (47:56):
Tomas.

Speaker 8 (47:57):
That a boy.

Speaker 9 (48:00):
Time of loss.

Speaker 1 (48:00):
That time Harrington could not get away from the pressure
and for once the Bulldogs were able to get to
him and bring him down, he wasn't able to step
up in the pocket and look downfield. This is gonna
be second and eighteen coming up now for the cams.

Speaker 8 (48:12):
That was a eight yard loss out of board. Tremain's
good job, buddy.

Speaker 1 (48:19):
Fall back to the twenty three yard line, second down
in eighteen, Harrington, changing his play checks the left side
of the field, now gets the stamp playoffs shirt steps
up in the pocket again. Now he'll dump it all
out of the list off the outstretched arms of his
intended receiver, Say Anderson, who plays both ways. We called
his name playing linebacker earlier he was lined up at
wide receiver there, coach, if he could come down with

(48:41):
that one, he's got some open space at all. I
saw that, and luckily that was just beyond his outstretched arms.
Callaway's got about four key players they're gonna play both ways,
and Zay Anderson is one of them. Saw one in
college football last night on Colorado Boy, that.

Speaker 2 (48:56):
Hunter kid, coach. He played one hundred and twenty snaps
last Oh he is.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
He can't be done. Third and eighteen, Now for the Calves,
empty backfield here for Harrington on third in law and
pressure comes the house. He'll roll right now, looking downfield,
trying to dump it away, and he's just gonna go
down and sack near the opaka sideline. A big time
sack there by the Bulldogs. That was Terres Thomas Junior.
Great job, Terres, Awesome. That's one of them defensive ends

(49:24):
I was talking about. Yeah, and you know, Terrez is
a guy that really you know, hadn't got a lot
of playing time. He's a sophomore, but he came in
there and made a big sack there. It's fourth down.
Looks like the offense is gonna stay out kind of
here in no man's laying on fourth down, and that's
gonna be a lot.

Speaker 3 (49:39):
You realize that's a rushing yard day minus seven on
that one.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
You've got the ball spotted back now around the twenty
eight yard line. They're gonna need the what is that
the six yard line for a first down. So this
is about a twenty two fourth and twenty two.

Speaker 8 (49:54):
They're for oh three of third down conversions.

Speaker 1 (49:58):
They'll let the quarter expire though in the one twenty
one nothing defenses bowed up here on this drive and
we'll be right back.

Speaker 2 (50:03):
You're listening to bulldog.

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Football here on the kicker. Well, as we start the
second quarter, Opalaika leading twenty one nothing, it's a fourth
and twenty two here for Callaway, and they're kind of
in no man's land at the opal like a twenty
eight yard line, so they'll try to go for it
here and take a shot and pressure comes on the quarterback.

(50:26):
Harrington throws one towards the corner of the end zone
and it is almost intercepted, well out of the reach
of the wide receiver Tyreese Pitts in there on the
coverage and it was intended for Sanders, but it was
well over his head and out of bounds and it's
a turnover all downs. Bulldog's defense come up with a
big style coach. They gave up some plays on that drive,
but they did got the big stop when it mattered.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
Especially when they got pressure on that quarterback. I mean
they put some heavy pressure on him. Terrest Thomas has
one of the best plays I've seen.

Speaker 1 (50:55):
In a long time, a touchdown by Calvin Hugh, Blake
Johnson and Jamari Millard as the Dogs leading twenty one
to nothing. Koby Keeli start out of the shotgun on
this drive from his own twenty yard line. First and
ten here for the Bulldogs. Key hands the ball off
to Calvin hugly far side. Hard tough running us had

(51:17):
ticked on the far side, and Calvin's cross the forty
thirty five thirty down the sidelines inside the twenty Calvin
finally brought down from a high but not before he
gets down had around the six yard line. What a
run by Calvin Hugley. Boy, somebody coach got pancaked on
that blood.

Speaker 3 (51:34):
Give me some yard in Joe Nafflin, bad that looked
like about seventy We're not.

Speaker 1 (51:40):
To wait and see exactly where they mark it down at.
They got it marked down at the six yard line.
I believe that's a seventy four yard run. Blake Johnson, coach,
leveled somebody out lead blocking for Calvin on that one
seventy four yard run there, coach by Calvin Hugly.

Speaker 8 (52:01):
Awesome.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
Now the Dog's first and goal at the six of
callaway and this time a quick handoff and goes inside
the five down to the four yard line by Tommy Johnson. Johnson,
what a run there by Calvin Hugley.

Speaker 8 (52:17):
Coach, that was beautiful, beautiful.

Speaker 1 (52:22):
Twenty one nothing opal like a leading and trying to
add to it here in this second quarter, ten to
fifty four remaining, we'll see Jamari Miller come out. Hey,
he's going to go under center here another I backfield.
Tommy Johnson stays in as a tailback here on this
play Key gets it hand off to Johnson. Johnson fighting
tough yardage in there and nowhere to go. No gain

(52:44):
on the play. This'll ring up a third and goal
from the four. Caden James comes up, makes the stop.
James actually holds an Alabama offer. Coach, He's got a
pretty big one in his pocket there from them. Yeah,
they've got some guys on this defense. He is littered
with an offer Zay Anderson. As we mentioned earlier, He's
got Navy and Vandy offers. As they say, coach, they

(53:08):
got some dudes over there from Callaway. They always have
high information here. On third and gold from the four,
Key out of the shotgun, thinks the toss left, rolls
to the right, Key trying to throw it in the
Insid's got Brody Jones, touchdown Bulldogs. He found Brody as
he rolled to the right, threw it on the run.
Great throw, great catch, Key to Jones for the scoring.

(53:28):
Dogs poured it on. Still twenty seven nothing with ten
minutes left here in the first half. Boy, great Kobe
Key was getting pressure too. He had somebody on his tail,
and he did a good job. I think for a
moment there he didn't think he had somebody open and
there was two guys waving to him and Jose Jones.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Was won and I think Slade Clayton was in the
back corner of the end zone.

Speaker 3 (53:49):
Two slop back on the other side, drug or cross beautiful.

Speaker 1 (53:54):
Here's that swinging gate. Look, the Dogs are coming out
with tonight and they're gonna get of Reese Beasley a
chance with a point after shot here, So Beasley in
for the extra point. Brody Jones will hold cam Railey
again handles the snapping duties here for the Dogs with
ten o one remaining here, point after attempt up by
Reese Beasley, boy is up and good. Another great scoring

(54:16):
drive led by a Calvin Hugley seventy four yard run
that set that one up and Jones comes up with
a touchdown reception twenty eight nothing drive power by our
friends at OPLE like a power services hometown people working
for you online at oplelikapower dot com. We're back after
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker walking back to Bulldog Stadium. Van Riggs lost

(54:41):
sign coach Bence McCracken, Mike mccrackett on the sidelines and
Jason Lee who's spotting for us tonight here and the
Orthopedic Clintic Broadcast booth, East Alabama's go to center for
orthopedic care. Twenty eight nothing ople like over callaway coach,
what a fun one so far?

Speaker 8 (54:56):
This has been absolutely wonderful.

Speaker 2 (54:59):
Johnny's seen a short kick.

Speaker 8 (55:01):
I don't know why they're not filled in those kickoffs.

Speaker 1 (55:04):
What if that doesn't go in the end zone. That's uh,
they're they're letting it roll though they hit it. The
one almost stop right there, boy, that could be dangerous
if you're a cavalier ten o one remaining here in
this second quarter of play, Dogs on top twenty eight
to nothing, head down for a four seasons Federal Credit
Union sideline report.

Speaker 11 (55:22):
Mac Well, guys there, this is very impressive, and this
is what the coaching staff has been wanting right there,
like they could Hey, they could have broke broke on
that defense, but they didn't do it. They stepped up
to it and kept them cop them out of the
end zone. And it's just just a tremendous job of
football to night and a lot of people getting in
and I just, hey, Van, I can't get over that
block by Johnson Good.

Speaker 1 (55:40):
Gosh, that was a dandy from there on twenty yard line,
a handoff left side to the tailback for Callaway short pickup.
He just got one yard up to the twenty one
yard line. And I believe that was Kennedy on the
run there for the Cavaliers at YOS sophomore running back.

Speaker 8 (56:03):
So he got one yard.

Speaker 1 (56:04):
This will be second down in nine nine forty left
in this first half. I want to see what Callaway
tries to do. It's a quick passing game. Last time
going hard count here by Harrington. I think he's just
trying to throw the timing off he can of this
rush that's been coming after him. We see Jordan Stinson
in there, one of the defensive end positions.

Speaker 8 (56:23):
That's Brian Stenson's son. Brian played ball for me on
my first year.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
Setting it down, he faked to throw, he's pressured, rolls
to a far side of the field, throws and he
found a receiver called at the thirty yard line. Again,
that's Kate and James, and he's going to be right
at the first down marker. Tell you what this quarterback,
he's kind of a Johnny Manziel like coach.

Speaker 9 (56:44):
Yes, he does.

Speaker 1 (56:47):
That was enough for a first down nine yards on
that pickup, so it's first and ten callaway from their
own thirty yard line. Is a trail here twenty eight
nothing in the second quarter, eight fifty four in a
running clock here in the second quarter, Kennedy the tailback,
he gets the hand off, Kennedy slipped down in the backfield.
He's gonna lose three yards back to the around the

(57:09):
twenty eight to twenty seven yard line. Now Kennedy got
the handoff, ran to his right and just slipped down.
As a clock continues to run here in the second quarter,
eight twenty eight remaining, and it will be a two
yard loss, second down in twelve with eight twenty two

(57:29):
left here in this first half.

Speaker 8 (57:34):
They're kind of slowing things down arc the van.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
I think they're kind of are right now, two white
outs to the left side of the field. They'll bring
a man in motion. Quarterback Herrington drops back. Now he'll
throw one and under threw his intended target, which was
the big fella, Tyrone Fitton, who's a defensive end and
a tight defensive lineman.

Speaker 8 (57:54):
We got a penalty.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
Van hit the quarterback late. No, it was I was
it a secondary hall.

Speaker 8 (58:01):
Secondary holding penalty, I believe.

Speaker 1 (58:03):
Yeah, I do see the hanking now at the forty
five yard line, so that'll be a ten yard penalty.
So this one make it a very short situation here
on second down ten yards So to be second down

(58:24):
at about two and a half here for Callaway now
is that itally marks it up to about the thirty
eight yard line. Eighth four remaining here in this first half,
Callaway seck it down in two from their on thirty
eight yard line, and that time the quarterback ran into

(58:46):
the running back Kennedy. He's trying to find some runner
room here near sign that runs out on him at
the thirty five yard line.

Speaker 2 (58:52):
Hey, good stop there by the Bulldogs.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
That was Norman Matthews in there, number thirty one on
the stop there for the Bulldogs. Seeing some young pups
get in there for the Bulldogs and making some plays.

Speaker 8 (59:06):
Good job.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
Anthony is a junior defensive back who slipped in the game.

Speaker 3 (59:11):
We've got Jaden battle Island, Jackson, Caden Harris, Braden Howard,
Ben shrink leyland Ball and Warner McDonald's are twos, and
I'm sure a lot of them are playing right now.

Speaker 1 (59:22):
All right, third and five here's the quarterback Harrington rolling
to his right. He's pressure throws back across the middle
and is caught by James at midfield. Spends and breaks
of tackle, he's inside the forty five forty hits the
sidelines that he's down the sidelines inside the twenty, and
finally pushed out of bounds inside the twenty. They'll mark
him down at the nineteen yard line. Big time throwing
a big time run after the catch for the big

(59:42):
fellow Caden James.

Speaker 10 (59:46):
Play cage enough for a cabinet a first down.

Speaker 8 (59:49):
How many yards on that?

Speaker 1 (59:50):
And James is another one of those guys that's playing
both ways. Forty two yards coach all right, two yard
pick up. Has Callaway set up first and ten at
the Bulldog twenty yard line, single receiver the left side,
single receiver to the right side of the field. Look

(01:00:11):
like they moved early, no whistle move. Yeah, nice job
stringing out the running back though he goes out of
bounds to the right side.

Speaker 2 (01:00:18):
Kavius Leonard, I think he lost a yard, I say
this man.

Speaker 8 (01:00:22):
They have really had trouble running on us.

Speaker 3 (01:00:25):
Most of their throws off boot passes there throwing the ball,
we're doing a real good job of stopping their ruin.

Speaker 2 (01:00:33):
Seven oh one remaining here in this first half.

Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
We're in the second quarter, Dogs on top twenty eight
to nothing over Callaway, Cavaliers trying to punch it in
for the first time. It'll be second down in twelve
after they lost a couple on that play ball at
the twenty two of Opeli like a quarterback keeper. He's
hit by Malik Autry and we'll go down at an
eighteen yard line. He did pick up four yards. Dawtrey.

Speaker 2 (01:00:58):
Good to see Autrey in there on some stops s.

Speaker 1 (01:01:02):
He was really frustrated last week and felt like, you know,
he was kind of taken out of the game by
a couple of you know, like they were kind of
holding the maybe a little bit in that game. Just
got frustrated. He took on a lot of double teams
last week too.

Speaker 8 (01:01:18):
Just a little holding in that game last week.

Speaker 1 (01:01:21):
All right, I've got to stop them here Van third
down and eight six twelve left in the first half.
Callaway at the Bulldog eighteen yard line. Harrington empty backfield,
trying to back pressures coming. He's got to get rid
of it. Throws and it is caught at the six
yard line by cad and James again, that's gonna be
first and goal coming up for Callaway. And I tell
you what, Harrington took a shot on that one, and

(01:01:43):
officials are gonna call a time out here for a
heat timeout and.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
We'll step aside as well.

Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Six minutes left in the first half, twenty eight to nothing,
the Callaway knocking on the door again. You're listening to
Bulldog football here on the kicker. How did the heat
time out? First and goal here for Callaway. They're at
the Bulldog four yard line, so to be first and
goal from the four.

Speaker 2 (01:02:08):
Harrington out of the shotgun.

Speaker 1 (01:02:10):
He's got the big fella fitting to his right who
looks to me about three hundred pounds. And I think
they've got a flag and illegal motion against Callaway, so
that will back them up five yards. That's a big
call there now, big, I said the leg I think
that was a motion penalty.

Speaker 9 (01:02:31):
I'm not sure. First and goal from the ten.

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
Yeah, first and goal from the ten here for all
right at the nine. I think they've got it marked.
Five point thirty nine left in our second quarter. It's
been all over like a two turnovers by Calloway, and interception.
A strip by Amari Smiley set up the two scores.
Bulldogs jumped on Calloway early going to fourteen to nothing
and then the offense and cal Hughley. What a first

(01:03:01):
half he's had. He's got over one hundred yards already.

Speaker 3 (01:03:04):
Man, this is man on man right here. They're playing
man coverage. They're gonna run this one or throw it outside.

Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
All right, Harrington out of the shine gun first and
go for the nine. He runs it right into the
heart of that bulldog defense. And that was a mistake
because you had a big pile of bulldogs waiting on
him there, led by Amari Smiley and also number ninety
three Josh Davis there as well.

Speaker 8 (01:03:27):
They're gonna do the same thing. Man, We're gonna play
man coverage.

Speaker 3 (01:03:31):
And they got their biggest kids out there now against
our best guys.

Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
The kayleightfoot was in there also.

Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
That's a that's a.

Speaker 8 (01:03:38):
Tough look at that size up there. Man, there's some
big children out there now.

Speaker 2 (01:03:44):
Well.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
Mac was walking the sidelines, I know, or earlier in
warmups and he said they're huge, they are big. Yeah,
Calloway's got some dudes come backing down play action Harrington
rolls right and he's gonna take off and run it
inside the five, and he has some assaulted and up
ended at the one, but he falls into the end
zone and I swear it looked like somebody got dragged
out on the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 8 (01:04:03):
Yeah, get our defensive end right now.

Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
I think they missed it. They missed a big hole there.

Speaker 8 (01:04:08):
I think they got a little.

Speaker 9 (01:04:09):
Holding on our end.

Speaker 8 (01:04:10):
Coach Prescott even be happy about that.

Speaker 1 (01:04:12):
Calloway finds the end zone though, on that run from
nine yards out of the quarterback Blake Harrington gets the
first score for the Calves and it comes to four
to twenty eight left here in this second quarter. So
here comes the point after attempt by Noah Hart. It
was a freshman, late man coming on here for the Calves.

(01:04:35):
With four to twenty eight left, extra point attempt here
for the Calves. Heigh snap got it down and I
think he just got it through. He did line Drives
shot right through there and the Calves are on the
board twenty eight to seven for twenty eight left here

(01:04:55):
in our first half of play. You're listening top like
a bulldog football here on ninety seven pointy seven kick around.
All right, all right, we're coming to you from the
Orthopeda Clinic broadcast booth being RIXS coach Bence mccracket, Mike McCracken,
our sideline reporter Jason leear spotder Tonight four twenty eight
left here in the first quarter, Orthopedic Clinic, East Alabama's

(01:05:18):
go to center for orthopedic care. Our sponsor is a
broadcast booth every Friday night. Coach, last five minutes of
the first half, you said.

Speaker 8 (01:05:26):
Yes, sir, it's right here for twenty eight. Need to
punch one in right here.

Speaker 1 (01:05:30):
Yeah, and it's a three score game. I know, Calloway
feels like, you know, they're still in this thing, and
another score at the end of this half would certainly,
you know, make it feel a little bit harder. There's
a short kick far side and fair catch called for
by Blake Johnson at the thirty two yard line, So
that is where the Bulldogs will start. I could tell

(01:05:53):
there they watched the film of Jamari Miller on kickoff returns.
They didn't want to give him a shot, did they, Coach, No, sir,
bulldogs will start for their own thirty two yard line.
Don't think the Orthopede Clinic. As we mentioned Jeff co
Tran Funeral Home, one of our great sponsors, Whittaker Drugs,
ople Lica Power Services, Glenn Smith, Chevy GMC and Opelaika,
South State Bank, Lambert Transfer and Storage, EL and M,
Pond and Guns, Southern Union State Community College, and also

(01:06:16):
Frederick dean At Funeral Home. Several great sponsors. We'll mention
more of those throughout the broadcast. First and ten for
the Dogs from they're on thirty two yard line. Key
out of the shotgun, he'll bring a man in motion.
They'll give it to Quiz here near side. He cuts
it up in the thirty five. Quiz got out the
sideline's forty five, fortyam bounds in the midfield and he's

(01:06:37):
down inside the forty five down to the forty two
yard line. Great run thereby Quiz Johnson down to the
forty two yard line. That's good for twenty twenty six
yards in a Lambert Transfer in Storage.

Speaker 2 (01:06:54):
First down.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Excellent, excellent, big play, first down. Keep it up, boys.

Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
Let's go first and ten for the Bulldogs down at
the Callaway forty two yard line, and there's a quick
hand off to Tommy Johnson boy, he's hitting right at
the line of scrimmage, trying to bounce it outside. He's
gonna lose two yards back to the forty four.

Speaker 8 (01:07:14):
They whipped to see him Dan.

Speaker 1 (01:07:17):
They were selling out on the run on that play,
that's for sure, Sir, Sellers branded sellers a defensive linean
for Callaway comes up on the stop three point fifty
six left Dogs trying to punch it in here. That
was a good run there by Ques Johnson. See what
the Dogs can go to here. On second down and
twelve at the Callaway forty four yard line, Key gets

(01:07:38):
the snap play action rolls left, Key floats one downfield
and it dropped at the thirty t one yard line.
That was incomplete intended for Bennett Young just couldn't hang
on in and out of his hands there at thirty one.

Speaker 8 (01:07:49):
Oh Ben, it should have had that one that hit
him right in this square, right in arms.

Speaker 1 (01:07:54):
That was a really good throw to by Coleby because
he floated it over a defender right here the sidelines.
Third down and twelve coming up here for the Bulldogs
at the Callaway forty four yard line. Three forty to
go here in the first half, trips left side single
receiver to the right side. The loan back this time

(01:08:15):
is the big fellow, Blake Johnson. Key gets it, throws
outside to Jamariy Miller, tries to turn the sidelines. Miller
down the sidelines thirty five thirty and the flag comes
in at the twenty yard line inside the five touchdown
and they're gonna get a hold on the Bulldogs on
that outside. It's coming back. They got the wide receiver

(01:08:37):
out on the hole. That's a couple of those plays
last week. Some of those flags came in. Well, do
you see Jamari Miller, He doesn't need much coach. You
can about miss a block and he can turn it upfield.
Good gracious, Well, that had eras is a forty two
yard touchdown run by Jamari Miller.

Speaker 2 (01:08:58):
Or past reception. I should say he was doing most
of the running.

Speaker 1 (01:09:03):
I'll say that.

Speaker 8 (01:09:05):
That's ten yards.

Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
That backs it up to the forty five yard line.
So it turns out not to be that big of
a penalty. After all, it'll be third and thirteen. So
it is third and thirteen at the callaway forty five
three twenty nine left here in this first half, and
they got Calloway to jump. That's it so five yards back,
good hard count there by Key twenty eight to seven

(01:09:32):
Opelaika with the lead three twenty nine left here in
the second quarter. As we come to you here from
Bulldog Stadium tonight between Opelika and Callaway. That penalty now
down to the forty yard line. This will make it
a third and eight now for the Bulldogs, and hey,
going for it on fourth down too, probably, coach, if
you get.

Speaker 8 (01:09:48):
Close, If we get close, I was just fixing to
say that to you.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
We will be Key out of the shot gun to
receivers right too.

Speaker 1 (01:09:55):
To the left.

Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
They'll bring Miller in motion now. They tried to option it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
Key turns it upfield at the third and he's gonna
be near the first down marker at the thirty one,
and he's gonna be a yard shy, but Darius Davis
stopped him just short. But it's fourth and one now
and it's definitely time to go forward. Here we see
Julian Pritchett come in, Calvin Hugley checking the ball game

(01:10:19):
and as we wind it down, close to three minutes
to go, fourth and one coming up here for the
Bulldogs and they go I formation here under center is
Key hard count. Now they'll check the sidelines trying to
get him to jump under center. Goes Key gets the snamp.
It's a quick hand off to Johnson the fullback. He's
got the first down and he's just misbreaking it at
the twenty six yard life. He just got tripped up. Boy,

(01:10:42):
almost was off.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
As old belly play right there, man, right off tackle Colley.

Speaker 2 (01:10:47):
That was almost the old belly option, right.

Speaker 8 (01:10:49):
Gosh, that's right that we gave it to it.

Speaker 9 (01:10:51):
There you go, Jay.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
Check the box. Two thirty six left here in the
second quarter and the Dogs will line up two wide
outs to the left side. Single receiver here to the
right side. Out of the shotgun is Keen Aws. He's
got a first and ten at the callaway. Right at
the callaway twenty six yard line, Pump fakes throws. This

(01:11:15):
time Bennett Young comes up with a catch, fumbled the
football and Calloway's got it at the twenty three yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
Death comment by tough break.

Speaker 1 (01:11:26):
Young caught it, spun around, tried to turn it up
feel and they knocked the ball out. So with two
eleven left and it'll be a turnover and Calloway will
take over. Boy, they needed that and Bennett has been
battling the injury. He's been battling a foot injury for
the past couple of weeks and it's really getting back

(01:11:47):
to action this week. So first I'm gonna have to
shake that one off two eleven left here in the
first half, and the Calves come out. You know, they'll
try to take a shot here.

Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
Oh yeah, they gonna try to get right back here.
We don't have to hold him here now.

Speaker 1 (01:12:04):
Last five minutes, it's callaway for their own twenty three
low snap. Herrington had to pick it up and he's
in trouble. He's gonna go down back at the nineteen
yard line. He is sacked on the play by Malik Autrey. Well,
Malik was sitting.

Speaker 2 (01:12:19):
In the backfield on that one and he would not
be denied.

Speaker 8 (01:12:25):
Yeah, I think they've ruffled our feathers a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Yeah, back to the nineteen. That was a four yard loss.

Speaker 8 (01:12:32):
We could get this ball back again, you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:34):
Know, could if you get to stop here, make a
time out.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Harrington in trouble down rolls to his right and there
comes a holding penalty flag and the quarterback's gonna go down.
He pitched it ahead and this is all gonna come
back here. This is a lot of extra extra effort
on that part for no reason. Here as he tossed
it up to Antavious Reeves and he ran up to
the forty yard line. But there's gonna be a whole

(01:12:59):
back that I did see the whole.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
Grabbed our tackle threw him down, thank you very much. Yeah,
that's a holding pen.

Speaker 2 (01:13:06):
That was an obvious hold on that one. So this
one will come back.

Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
As the quarterback was scrambling around very Johnny Manziel like
and kind of tossed it ahead to the wide receiver
who did get up to the forty yard line. But
it is going to come back all the way to
the nine yard line, and we'll do it again. One
twenty seven left here in the third quarter, twenty eight
to seven, Opelaika with the lead, and Callowey now will

(01:13:37):
be facing a second and twenty four from their own
nine yard line.

Speaker 8 (01:13:43):
Yeah, we ought to think about getting this ball back.

Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
Harrington out of the shot and off drops back, floats
one down, feel down the sidelines and the receiver comes
up with a kitch and he was popped at the
forty two. My goodness. Caden James with the reception, and
he got a shot on.

Speaker 2 (01:14:02):
The end of that one.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Coach maybe the reason he's got an Alabama offers about.

Speaker 8 (01:14:09):
A thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:14:11):
To the forty two twenty nine yards.

Speaker 8 (01:14:14):
I ain't ever seen it as a great catch. He
got popped too.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
He sure it did, and hung on to it and
got up and flexed, and I would have to if
I made that catch.

Speaker 8 (01:14:25):
Got to put pressure on this quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:14:27):
Now, first and ten calves for their own forty two
yard line, two white outs right side, two white outs
to the left side, and a flag on the play.
And we got some movement there by Callaway one two
left here in this second quarter in a five yard penalty.
I back up the calves.

Speaker 8 (01:14:57):
We're gonna get to that quarterback. We're gonna rush three guys.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
Now, yeah, back to the thirty seven yard line. Now
here on first and fifteen, Harrington empties the back field, pump, fakes, throws,
tries to set up a screen here near side. Dun's
got it, but he has swallowed up by the Bulldogs
right off the bat. It's going to be a big loss,
and a timeout taken by Callaway. Forty two seconds left

(01:15:20):
time out on the field. We'll step aside as well
back after this thirty second timeout. Bulldogs on top twenty
eight to seven over callaway and forty two seconds left
here in this second quarter.

Speaker 2 (01:15:31):
You're listening to Bulldog football. Here on the kicker.

Speaker 1 (01:15:41):
Back here inside Bulldog Stadium, Van Riggs coach Spence mccrackett
on the sidelines. Jason Lear spotder tonight forty two seconds
left here in the second quarter, opal Like leading twenty
eight to seven, callaway with a football. It's second and
twenty from their own thirty two yard line. Dropping back
is Harrington. He rolls to his right, pressure to hit
as he throws across the middle and again caught by

(01:16:02):
Kate and James. He's across midfield, turns it up at
the forty five and knocked down at the Bulldog forty
yard line. Big time hit by the linebacker. Tyler Moore
frustrated he had to come back and make that hit.
Oh goodness, Kate and James, it's hurt. He's getting up
trying to run off and boy he he's injured, and uh,

(01:16:26):
we're gonna step aside. And he took a shot. And
then this may be I don't want to speculate, but
maybe a concussion. He got it really woozy and dizzy
and tried to come off the field and fell down
two times. And coach Moore even comes out on the
field and that that young man has been a gamer

(01:16:46):
for this Callaway team. Kate and James, let's sit out
in field Mack with the four seasons Federal Credit Union
shideline report.

Speaker 11 (01:16:52):
Yeah, we got all of our dogs right now taking
a knee. I think I think you're right, man, it's
definitely a concussion. He just tried to get up a
few times. So we got all the medical staff and
both coaches, head coaches from both sides looking Annie.

Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
All right, we'll take a quick break. You listen to
the Bulldog football Dog's up twenty eight to seven over
Callaway and we're back after this.

Speaker 12 (01:17:11):

NMLS number for ro three four six one.

Speaker 1 (01:17:46):
All right here after the entry time out kit and
James a star wide receiver here and a defensive back
for Callaway helped off the field. Certainly took a shot
there by Tyler Moore, very clean football hit. He just
went down to the turf very hard and very woozy
to get up and having to be helped off the
field by a couple of trainers here and coaches at Callaway.

(01:18:07):
And certainly hope that young man's okay. We mentioned earlier
he's got an Alabama offer in several others, so you
know he is a big time quality football player. Stoppage
and play here, let's palls ten seconds for station identification joby.

Speaker 10 (01:18:21):
Auburn Opalaika is league County's best country ninety seven point
seven kicker FM and iHeart Country station.

Speaker 1 (01:18:29):
All right, trying to get the clock correctly, and that's
what the stoppage and play was. We got twenty three
seconds left and it's first and ten. Callaway does have
the football at the Bulldog forty yard line. First and
ten trailing here twenty eight to seven, Harrington drops back,
pressure comes, He's hits, rolled, scrambles to his right, breaks
a tackle and now throws it down towards the end

(01:18:50):
zone and it's a jump ball is tipped and caught
by Callaway at the five yard line and broad down
to the six. It was hauled him I number twenty
seven with three seconds left, My goodness, almost like a
hail Mary tip drill and Callaway comes up with it.
One of the Bulldogs was there, tipped it.

Speaker 9 (01:19:09):
In the air.

Speaker 1 (01:19:11):
We have got an injury on the field, and this
is Tyler Moore. He's dealt with leg injuries in the past.
And he goes down and he's down at the forty
nine yard line, and boy, we certainly hope Tyler's okay.
Right at midfield, Boy, another scary injury here in this
game with three seconds left, as Tyler Moore goes down.

(01:19:33):
He held with an injury all off season, and I
certainly hope he's he's okay. Delt with a knee injury
last year and training staff coming out and tending to him.
We'll step aside. Just three seconds left and bulldog down
on the field. Tyler Moore, we're back after this time
out here on the kicker.

Speaker 8 (01:20:00):
Go fought well.

Speaker 2 (01:20:01):
A good sign that Tyler was coming off the.

Speaker 1 (01:20:03):
Field on his own power there, and we certainly hope
he's okay and the callaway is going for it here.
Just three seconds left. Man, it's first and goal from
the six yard line here for the Cavaliers. But just
one more shot at the end zone. The Bulldogs call
of time out here. I'll coach you down twenty eight
to seven on the road. I don't think a field
goal is gonna do much for your confidence here. You

(01:20:24):
want to try to score, and I think they know
their opportunities are limited here in this game.

Speaker 8 (01:20:29):
Yeah, they got three scores, so we will see Tyler.
I just these long passes that get caught and tipped, and.

Speaker 1 (01:20:41):
Well, I tell you, I mean, I know I compared
the quarterback to Johnny Manzil, but he's been able to
scramble around to void some pressure tonight, make some plays
that no other quarterbacks would make.

Speaker 9 (01:20:50):
I mean, he just made some big play.

Speaker 1 (01:20:52):
He has really really been a gamer, and he was
described to us as a gamer, and he's been every
bit of that Mac big Key big un down here
for the Dogs try to keep the moment a man
keep him out of the end zone.

Speaker 11 (01:21:03):
Yeah, it would be a brief, big stop right here, Van,
We definitely need to keep him out.

Speaker 8 (01:21:07):
I just man can't let that quarterback get outside.

Speaker 9 (01:21:12):
From the six.

Speaker 8 (01:21:12):
Here we go, one play, one play, all.

Speaker 1 (01:21:14):
Right, just three seconds left from the six yard line.
On final play of the half, Harrington again rolls to
the right, throws towards the end zone, in and out
of the hands, almost intercepted by the Bulldogs. It was
almost picked off by Carson Moss. And that'll end the
first half. The Dogs lead at twenty eight to seven.
As we head into the locker room, and we'll get
Mike mccrackett coming up here in just a few minutes.

(01:21:35):
You'll catch up with coach Moore as he heads into
the locker room. And boy, good first half of play
for the Bulldogs. And it started off quickly, quickly and
in a hurry as the Dogs jumped up by two
scores on two turnovers by Callaway and added to it
a couple of times there and lead it twenty eight
to seven.

Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
And Mac, let us know when you're ready with coach.

Speaker 11 (01:21:57):
All right, go ahead, but go coach Moore, you preached
to the boy consistency. You want to see urgency and
consistency during this game. How'd your first half turn out? No,
I mean the first quarter was great. I mean we
played really well.

Speaker 9 (01:22:08):
We hit a lull.

Speaker 8 (01:22:09):
It's twenty one nothing. We hit a little bit of
a lull there, and.

Speaker 6 (01:22:12):
Then they ended up scoring obviously, made it twenty eight
to seven, and that was pretty frustrating right there. And
then the drive, you know, we're driving in to make
it thirty five to seven and a half and we fumbled.

Speaker 8 (01:22:22):
You know, we had to drop on second down.

Speaker 9 (01:22:24):
And long and then we fumbled.

Speaker 8 (01:22:25):
Just can't happen. We got to clean that up.

Speaker 6 (01:22:27):
But that is a consistent I'm talking about, you know,
is finishing people, putting your foot on the gas. Because
we came out and it played really, really well in
the first quarter. We got to find that again, especially
starting a second half.

Speaker 8 (01:22:37):
Let's go be with your boys. Coach. Thanks mac, all.

Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
Right, thanks so much. That's Matt mccracking with coach Brian Moore.

Speaker 1 (01:22:42):
Will come back spear to the South Marching band getting
ready to take the field and we'll have their halftime
show for you coming up on the way next to
get our halftime score twenty eight to seven. Ope, like
elading the callaway Cavaliers, We're back after this time out
here on the kicker. Well, I know Coach mar would

(01:23:04):
love to see the Bulldogs come out here and stretch
this lead out as they'll receive to start the second half.
Hopeful like a leading twenty eight to seven here as
we wind things down. Coach, I know Calvin Hugley, he's
got well over one hundred yards in the first half.
Tough running from him. I don't know if we'll see
him too much here in the second half or not.
I know, maybe the first couple of plays here, the
first drives, I should say, and maybe see if the

(01:23:26):
Dogs can stretch this thing on out. Wow, you got
a whole thing on backwards.

Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
No, I didn't know you were going to ask say that,
but I think it's crucial and we get some points
on this first drive. I mean, got a long way
to go. Yeah, we certainly do, twenty eight to seven.

Speaker 1 (01:23:48):
But you know, if you can stretch this thing out
and get comfortable, I know you you got region play,
start Area play, start next week. I know Coach would
love to build a lead here and then get some
guys some experience, and you know I've already got a
key injury. We see Tyler Moore on the sidelines now
with ice on that knee. We certainly hope he's okay,
and let's check in with Matt mccrack before we get
the second half kick.

Speaker 8 (01:24:06):
Max if knows anyth Yeah, definitely.

Speaker 1 (01:24:08):
A coach.

Speaker 11 (01:24:09):
Board just told him, he said, hey, you remember last
week how we started. We gave up the touchdown, So
let's improve on those first five minutes. Like you always
talk about paps. Yeah, they're gonna keep Tyler off the
rest of the night. Go get him looked at tomorrow
and just hoping for the best for the young man.

Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
Thanks so much.

Speaker 2 (01:24:26):
Mac.

Speaker 1 (01:24:26):
The kick is underway from Callaway right to left and
it will be fielded by the Bulldogs of the seventeen
yard line. This is Jamari Miller good return across midfield,
but Jamori's down the sidelines inside the thirty one man
to beat and he has gone ten five touchdown. Jamary
Miller takes it to the house. That's a seventy eight
yard touchdown run by Jamari Miller.

Speaker 8 (01:24:51):
That's unbelievable. Now, one board from Callaway did.

Speaker 1 (01:24:56):
You see the boy down here that is eighty two
yards I should say eighty two two yards on that
kickoffer turn by Jamari Miller. Good r Well, he left
that guy from Callaway in the dust at the twenty
yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:25:07):
He had no chance to get them.

Speaker 8 (01:25:09):
Can you run that over again for me and let
me see that. I tell you what we need to good.

Speaker 1 (01:25:15):
Those folks on the NFHS network are getting a good
replay of that one.

Speaker 8 (01:25:20):
How many yards is that hawk?

Speaker 1 (01:25:21):
That was eighty two? This is going to be a
two point play. Brody Jones rolls and throws and it's
out of those at strout stretched arms at Slade Clayton
who went right through his hands.

Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
I believe that was Slade.

Speaker 1 (01:25:34):
That should play fails in fifty that was intended for
actually Camden Raley. That was Camden Raley number eighty nine.
So Camden Raley just missed that one. A little too
hot to handle there. Bulldogs went to the swinging gate
and actually went for the two point try there. But
the Bulldogs do put six on the board there on

(01:25:55):
the kickoffer turn by Jamari Miller, an eighty two yard
kickoffer turn for the score, and it's thirty four to seven.
That drive power by our friends at open like a
power services hometown. People working for you, Mack McCracken. That
was a start of the second half, wasn't it.

Speaker 9 (01:26:09):
Yeah?

Speaker 11 (01:26:09):
Yeah, I think they heard, they heard what coach was preaching. Hey,
listen for the Bulldog fans that are at the house
right now are never seen tomorrow. Fat Miller, I know
the guys in the NFL, but if you remember ever
watching Devin Hester return a punt or a kick, Fat
is so quick with his step and his burst of speed.

Speaker 9 (01:26:30):
I died the kick.

Speaker 8 (01:26:32):
I don't know if you saw this van the kicker
just stopped.

Speaker 9 (01:26:36):
Try to even catch you.

Speaker 11 (01:26:37):
I'm a phenomenal, phenomenal ballplayer.

Speaker 2 (01:26:42):
And Mack, we missed the light show on that one too.

Speaker 1 (01:26:45):
All right, there's an end over end kick towards the
end zone and it will be a touchback owner good
kick there by Johnny Sassina thirty four to seven. Here's
Callaway's first trip out on our fence to start the
second half. Blake Harrington won a tough, gutsy performance. This
guy in the first half. He well, he just had
pressure coming on him all night long and he's had

(01:27:10):
a Maori's Smiley breathing down his neck. He's had Malik Altrees,
had Tremaine Thomas, he said, Jae Kai lightfoot and those
are not guys you want chasing you down. And he's
been able to get away from him, and he's been
able to get the ball down the field and make
some plays. But Hallowey will start first and ten from
there on a twenty yard line here to start the

(01:27:32):
second half. Harrington out of the shot and gun gets
the snap, hands the ball off to the tailback right side.
Good job for the good job on the front. And
that was Christian Kennedy on the carry, and he didn't
get much. I don't think he gained the yard he
got anything. I have no gain on the play. This
will be second down in ten from the twenty yard line.

Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
Is that Caden Harris number four, who's taking who took
Moore's place there?

Speaker 1 (01:28:00):
Right now? You've got Alan Jackson Ty Hudson in the game. Okay, okay,
second down to ten here for the callaway Cavaliers. Harrington
quarterback keeper right side. He's got a laying across the
thirty thirty five. He's got a first down. I think
he tripped him up at the thirty four yard line.
Tyreese Pitts comes in there and just about makes a
touchdown saving stop there as the quarterback.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Harrington had a good run.

Speaker 1 (01:28:24):
Caval first down.

Speaker 8 (01:28:25):
That's about a thirteen yard game, isn't it.

Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
Yep, got up to the thirty four to fourteen yards.

Speaker 8 (01:28:34):
I do better than that.

Speaker 3 (01:28:35):
They ran a little counterplay back over had to the
other side and washed us down and linebacker didn't get
over there.

Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
First down in ten for the Calves for they're on
thirty four yard line. Harrington play action throws in that one.
I think Smiley may have got a hand on that one.

Speaker 8 (01:28:52):
He knocked it down good.

Speaker 1 (01:28:56):
What Carson Moss was. They're in defense, but it was
intended for Bryceton. Sanders number twelve incomplete and there's a
flag down there the opal like a sideline. They're coming
over to talking to coach More. I think it's an
ineligible man down field. Coach on callaway, so they're just
trying to decide if they want to take it or not.

(01:29:22):
Coach Moore looks like he wants to take the field
position penalty here. Jamari Miller eighty two yard kickoff return
to start the second half. Dogs leading right now thirty
four to seven with ten forty one left here in
the third quarter, first in fifty, so that'll back it
up to the right at the twenty eight yard line,

(01:29:43):
first in fifteen. Harrington gets the snamp, hands it off
to Kennedy the tailback right side, and Kennedy is hit
and he is going backwards. Ty Hudson on top of
the pile there. I'm not sure who's coming off the
bottom of the pile, but Ty Hudson. That was number
ninety and number ninety nine, Tremaine Thomas and Jakai lightfoot.

Speaker 2 (01:30:06):
Tyrese Pitt's also in there.

Speaker 8 (01:30:08):
That is two huge lung and youngins right there.

Speaker 1 (01:30:10):
Haws Autree three twenty lightfoot three point fifteen. I don't
know who's gonna argue over that five pounds. I think
it just depends on what day they weigh. Second down
in fifteen, Harrington out of the shotgun from his own
twenty eight yard line to throw here near side, and boy,

(01:30:31):
they got a cramp on that. Bryston Sanders, I think
you may have pulled his hamstring or either got a cramp.
He just came up when he caught it and really
started jumping and he's straightening that leg up. May just
be a cramp that got him there at the thirty
one yard line, but it's a short two yard pickup.
Devin Dixon comes in and makes the stop on Sanders

(01:30:51):
at an injury time out on the field. I think
they're just gonna hope. I think it's just a cramp.
That's the good news for Callaway.

Speaker 9 (01:30:57):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
So he stretches that out, Matt go. I have to
get into two specifics. But how's the body language from
Tyler Moore on the sidelines over there? I know he's
got the knee ice down.

Speaker 11 (01:31:10):
Yes, I saw him in the training room during halftime,
and you know, it was it was expected, you know,
just kind of a little somber and just just kind
of keeping to himself. A lot of teammates coming up
giving him love, tell him to keep his head up.

Speaker 9 (01:31:22):
Everything's gonna be okay.

Speaker 11 (01:31:23):
So it's like I said, we're just gonn They're gonna
find out tomorrow, you know, you know the results of
and everything, but you know, just kind of gotta stay
positive of tylerant you know how he's been through a
lot with this and just let the Lord bless down
over him and hope and hope for good things.

Speaker 1 (01:31:39):
All right. See it's dad Tim over there talking to him. Certainly,
will hope everything's okay. Third and law, third and thirteen.
Harrington rolls to the right, throws deep down field and
it is incomplete, well off the mark. It was intended
for number twenty seven. That's Zi Dandy and it's incomplete.
Fourth down at thirteen, Callowe bringing the Funny team on.

Speaker 8 (01:31:57):
Good job, real good coverage right there.

Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
Thirty four to seven, Opelaikah leading callaway nine twenty four left.
We're in the third quarter and Jamari Miller trots back.
I wonder if they're gonna give him a chance to
return one. Jamari's shaking his head hoping they do.

Speaker 8 (01:32:14):
So far, so good. First five minutes at third quarter.
Van Riggs.

Speaker 1 (01:32:21):
Coming to you for the Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth East,
Telabama's go to center for orthopedic Care. On a fourth
and thirteen, Callaway lining back to punt and that one
rolled back there to the punter and he shanked this
one up in the air and no chance, hey you go,
good for Jamari to catch this one. It goes out
of bounds at around the forty eight yard line, so

(01:32:45):
the Dogs will start for their own forty eight right
near midfield. To start this drive here with nine fifteen
left in the third quarter. I want to think our
other sponsors Rentals Outdoors, First Baptist Church, Opelaika, four Seasons,
Federal Credit Union, Auburn Bank, Gory's Furniture, Bubba's Medicine Shop,
Auburn Bank, Committee to elect Chris Patten District Judge. Each
and has cleaning services, HEO Tourism, Eddie Smith for Mayor,

(01:33:07):
Victory Designs, and State Senator Randy Price. First and ten
Dogs with their own forty eight yard line. Key out
of the shotgun, quick throw far side. Miller's got a
Miller stutters steps and he's hammed up that time just
for a one yard pickup at the forty nine yard
line that was strung out nicely by Darius Davis, the linebacker.

Speaker 3 (01:33:29):
Now one yard that's a little screen pass out there.
They covered that real well. We didn't block anybody out.

Speaker 9 (01:33:35):
There on the edge.

Speaker 1 (01:33:36):
Yeah, I know Calloway fans over holding their breadth though coaching.
When anytime number three catches it, yep, yep. With the
game he has had second down and nine Dogs from
their on forty nine yard line near midfield, moving from
right to left, Johnson comes in motion. Key gets the
hand off, it goes to Calvin. Calvin slips a tackle

(01:33:57):
across midfield. He's down to the forty nine third down,
and I mean third and seven coming up. Now, that
was a two yard pickup cross midfield, down to the
down to the forty nine yard line. Eight fourteen left
in the third quarter. Arge Dogs leading thirty four to seven,

(01:34:26):
eight oh two remaining. Key out of the shotgun brings
a man in motion. Key drops back. On third down,
pressure comes, Key steps up in the pocket on the run.
Survey in the field. Now we'll take off and run
and he slides out of aunds at the forty three
yard line. That's the first down, and he's really close
to it right at the first down marker. I think
if he would have dove for it, he might have

(01:34:48):
had it, but he went and slid about a yard shy.
So it's gonna be fourth and one at the forty three.

Speaker 8 (01:34:55):
I think they're gonna go for this.

Speaker 1 (01:34:56):
I think so too. Fourth thout one.

Speaker 8 (01:35:00):
Snap it for They're ready, let's go all.

Speaker 1 (01:35:02):
Right, I'll be an I formation old school football here
and Waits is the tailback. Key will check the side lines,
Blake Johnson the fullback. I formation, everybody in tight here
on this fourth and one, quick hand off to the
fallback Blake Johnson.

Speaker 2 (01:35:17):
He's got the first down.

Speaker 1 (01:35:19):
Johnson continuing to drive the defense all the way to
the thirty six yard line. It's a labor transferring storage
first down seven yards on the fourth and one play.

Speaker 8 (01:35:32):
That's a big old boy right there now. I will
tell you I talked to him today.

Speaker 1 (01:35:37):
Time out on the field, a heat timeout seven oh
two left here in the third quarter, Dogs leading thirty
four to seven. You're listening to bulldog football here on
the kicker. We're back after this timeout out of the
time out, play action, Key comes here near size Quez.
Johnson's got it, Quiz trying to turn it up field,

(01:35:58):
and a nice job there by Callaway to keep Quest
from turning it up field. And I believe no game
on the play. It'll be second down in ten. Aunt
Reeves comes up with a stop from the linebacker position.
Actually was an injury timeout on the field and not
a heat time out. That was Drew Gagliano, who had
to be assisted off the field.

Speaker 8 (01:36:17):
Yeah, just keep running that clock.

Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
So it'll be second down in ten again. The line
of scrimmage right at the thirty seven of callaway. Here
on this second and ten play handoff here near side,
there's Wakes. Wakes slips a tackle across the thirty Wakes
down to the twenty five yard line. That's another Lambert
transfer and storage. First down, twelve yards on the ground there, Coach.

Speaker 3 (01:36:37):
Mccracker, Winlow, Miller and Lee over there on the right side,
blew them off the ball.

Speaker 9 (01:36:43):
Then great job.

Speaker 1 (01:36:45):
The junior wide receiver Jordan waits for the Bulldog first
down down to the twenty five of callaway. They'll say
the twenty six. Actually so first and ten at the
twenty six yard line. Key dropped the ball, picks it up,
drops backs, got some time, throws one of the zone
Jamori Miller touchdown, Bulldogs.

Speaker 8 (01:37:05):
What a throw.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Keys dropped the ball, picked it up, and then he found.

Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
Fat Miller in the end zone. He goes over the
defender and makes the grab.

Speaker 8 (01:37:13):
What a throw.

Speaker 1 (01:37:14):
Twenty six yard touchdown strike from Key to Miller. I
hope we're calling that combo a lot this year. Coach
mccraften want a throw by Kobe Key too drop the snap.
Good composer too, he dropped it and was you know,
had some pressure coming, Yes, and what a strike he threw.
And Maari comes off the field. He got a cramp celebrating.

(01:37:37):
He's having to get stretched out. Forty to seven And
here's the point after attempt by sophomore Kickerrhese Beasley at
a bore hand. The kick is up and good Dogs
all over callaway forty one seven five forty eight left
here in the third quarter. That's another OPAL, like a
Power Services score and drive OPAL, like a Power Services

(01:37:57):
hometown people working for you online at OPLE like a
power dot Com. Bulldogs Bullock Stadium is celebrating another touchdown
Colby Key a twenty nine yard touchdown to Jamari Miller

(01:38:18):
his second.

Speaker 2 (01:38:21):
Of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:38:22):
An eighteen yard touchdown, and a twenty nine yard touchdown
Jamoriy Miller. Also a kickoff return an eighty two yarder,
So three touchdowns for Jamari Miller. Coach McCracken, he's our,
He's Coach McCracken's player of the game already.

Speaker 8 (01:38:35):
I know, yes, I heard I run. Wow. That kickoff
return was incredible.

Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
Well, and I know you know, Coach Moore, I'm sure
doesn't want to keep the starters out and pour it on.
But I know this is a young team and they
got to grow up quickly because next week it's Auburn game. Coach,
I mean, so you still want to be able to
get some stuff worked out, I know, but you don't
want to continue to pour it on an opponent.

Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
But still a lot of football left.

Speaker 1 (01:39:00):
Five forty eight left here at the third quarter by
the forty one seven lead. Here for the Bulldogs over callaway,
Rhys Beasley has it teed up. He'll kick from left
to right as the Cavaliers w await this kick. There's
an end over end kick near side of the field.
We'll be returnable for the Calves at the twenty five

(01:39:23):
cut up at the thirty yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:39:24):
That was jae Quinton Williams.

Speaker 8 (01:39:28):
Good job kick off, ta nice coverage.

Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
See a lot of new guys coming in on this
defense here on this set and one thing callaway, you
know coming up. They've got their region play start next week.
They'll take on Cook or at least a double a
opponent Cook then on the road at Columbia. Bulldogs road
game at Auburn next week gonna be a tough one.

(01:39:56):
Dogg's trying to get their first win over the Tigers
since twenty nineteen. Coach mc what doesn't seem like it's
been that long. I had the heartbreaker here last year,
and I know a lot of these dogs to thirty
eight seniors remember that one.

Speaker 9 (01:40:10):
I'm sure they do.

Speaker 1 (01:40:11):
First in ten, callaway from their own thirty two yard line,
candof to Washington Christ that Kennedy rather the tail back,
tried to bounce it outside, strung out nicely, then Swank
with a tackle there.

Speaker 8 (01:40:26):
Yes, sir, that's a nice tackle by Swank, very good.

Speaker 9 (01:40:32):
Little senior.

Speaker 1 (01:40:35):
Granddaddy is Rainer Meadows, Coach mccracky, Victor Designs, one of
our sponsors, and I knew that, and I went by
there the other day picking up some bulldog gear and
mom came out and Rainer says, Mom, make sure then
and coach know how to say this last name. And
it's Swank, Swank, swank, right, So I've got it down.
I hope we're calling his name for some tackles.

Speaker 8 (01:40:57):
That sounds exactly the way it's spelled. That's right.

Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
So then on the stop there for the Bulldogs. Third
a second down in eight. So we play here in
the third quarter, forty one to seven second down play
Dogs from their own thirty three yard line. Harrington out
of the shotgun formation. No check that new quarterback in
the game, hand off to the tailback, good run, hit

(01:41:26):
at the forty five yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:41:27):
Coach, I'm gonna tell you who this quarterback.

Speaker 1 (01:41:29):
He is eight Jade Williams and coach, he has Tank
Digsby's brother. That's what we were told.

Speaker 8 (01:41:39):
How about that.

Speaker 1 (01:41:43):
Devin Dixon on the stop for the Bulldogs or check
that to rest Thomas again in there on the stop
for the Bulldogs. That was enough for a first down run.
Now he's a freshman in there getting some snaps here.
Aj Williams and the brother of Tank Bigsbek. We were

(01:42:05):
told before the game.

Speaker 10 (01:42:08):
Personal foul and the like of all setting penalties.

Speaker 1 (01:42:12):
Now I got some off setting personal foul a Pimbleys
on the play there five oh six left here As
we play in the third quarter, forty one seven Opelaka
with the lead over the calves of Callaway, Williams gets
the snap, hands into the tailback right side, running across
the forty five and hit down at the forty eight
yard line carrier.

Speaker 3 (01:42:35):
I think I don't want to say it yet, but
I think Callaway is just about ready to just run
the ball and run the clock and go home.

Speaker 1 (01:42:45):
I think so.

Speaker 3 (01:42:46):
I mean, I think that looks like the way it's
gonna be. They took their starting quarterback out, who is
a really good player.

Speaker 1 (01:42:58):
It was Isaiah Terrell on the on the hand off
there and again the quarterback Williams gives it a tarot
right shine, hit it midfield, trying to push that pile up.
They'll say, Ford progress down at the forty nine yard line.

Speaker 8 (01:43:20):
Third dollar too, Yeah, we.

Speaker 3 (01:43:23):
Got most of our two's in there now that Braden Stenson,
Carmel Torbert, Josh Davis, Jordan Stenson, Jaden Battle, Alan Jackson.

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
This will set up a third down and two calliway
just across midfield at the Bulldog forty nine yard line.

Speaker 8 (01:43:44):
Four men front by the dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:43:46):
Williams out of the shotgun, just to hand off again
to Isaiah Arrrel right, Shinde. He's going to be stopped
for just a yard. It was gonna bring up a
fourth and one.

Speaker 9 (01:43:57):
I see if they go for this, I imagine that they.

Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
And there's three twenty three left here in the ball game.
That was Caden Harris on the stop for opeaika, Yeah,
they gonna go for this. Say, if the young pups
that are in here can come up with a fourth
down stop, it's a fourth and one at the opal
likea forty eight yard line. I'm gonna bring a couple
of big fellows in that. We saw Tyrone fitting that

(01:44:22):
big number nine load.

Speaker 8 (01:44:24):
He looks like about of two seventy he is.

Speaker 2 (01:44:27):
He's lined up, yeah, waiting back.

Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
Fourth to one here for the callaway Cavaliers from the
forty eight yard line, hand off to the back. He
stopped in the backfield and the dogs we're gonna bring
it down for about a five yard loss. Good job,
by the way, by nice stop. That was Brandon Dinson
in there on the stop, a senior defensive lineman, and
a host of other dogs in there on the stop.
So a turnover on downs. Good job there by the

(01:44:53):
young defense coming up and making a nice fourth down stop.

Speaker 3 (01:44:58):
Now I imagine we have seen well, you know, Sank
he's heard, isn't he? I think I don't know who
their number two quarterback is. They gonna go with their
number three. I guess who is that who number twelve.

Speaker 1 (01:45:15):
Let's see this is actually number fourteen coming in there
and running the quartersack position.

Speaker 2 (01:45:19):
You know, this is Fuller Young, a sophomore.

Speaker 1 (01:45:21):
Fuller Young, Okay, yeah, Fuller Young in there running the
quarterback position here for the Bulldogs. It's a shotgun stamp
hands into the tail back Tommy Johnson who runs right,
picked up a yard and that's it. So it'll be
second down to eight.

Speaker 3 (01:45:36):
I like to watch these young kids play, especially when
we got a big lead like this. You know that
this is a thrill to a tenth grader to get
in there and play at this point in his career.

Speaker 9 (01:45:48):
Van, this is this is big.

Speaker 3 (01:45:50):
His parents are I guarantee his parents are proud. Right now,
there's a ad boy jumped off side. That's five yards.

Speaker 12 (01:45:58):
Yees.

Speaker 1 (01:45:58):
A movement there and that's off sides. On the defense,
I think Sank you may have been dealing with an
illness this week. I'm not one hundred percent sure on that,
but not sure his availability.

Speaker 9 (01:46:09):
Matt.

Speaker 1 (01:46:09):
Let's go down for a four seasons Federal Credit Union
sideline report, MATC.

Speaker 11 (01:46:13):
Yeah, we're rocking and rolling. You just Fuller's getting in here.
A good chance to dad, you know, This is old
rock Son.

Speaker 8 (01:46:20):
Yeah, yeah, I thought I thought you know what I
was gonna ask you about that.

Speaker 1 (01:46:24):
All right, second and down play handoff to wait's uh wait,
no gain on the play.

Speaker 8 (01:46:29):
Offensive line got blocked better than that.

Speaker 9 (01:46:31):
Now.

Speaker 8 (01:46:31):
Let's see here, all.

Speaker 1 (01:46:33):
Right, see Quz Johnson come in a couple other substitutions
coming in.

Speaker 3 (01:46:37):
Robert Woods at center, Carmel Torbert Keelan Jones, Jeremy Dillard,
and Eric Mason. That's your number two's. I think that
group is in there right now. They just show these
coaches what you can do.

Speaker 8 (01:46:50):
Guys.

Speaker 1 (01:46:50):
Third and three, one fourteen left of the third, forty
one seven all o, Polaika got a sophomore quarterback in here.
This is Fuller Young getting some snaps at quarterback. He's
got Tommy Johnson to his left here on a third
and four hand off to Johnson in the backfield, hit
but stayed on his feet close to the first down.
He may have it down to the thirty eight yard line. Boy,

(01:47:12):
there was some tough running there by Tommy Johnson. He's close,
he is real close. He was popped in the backfield
by Entavius Reeves, a junior. It's fourth and one they'll
keep the offense out.

Speaker 9 (01:47:22):
Yeah, they go for this.

Speaker 1 (01:47:25):
Young out of the shotgun again Tommy Johnson, the senior
tail back to his left, and I think they got
Callaway to jump. No flag on the play. Oh goodness,
all right, Jem checks the sidelines again. Slade Clayton of
the h back position too wideouts either side. Washington and
Quez Johnson up tied. Handoff goes to Tommy. He's got

(01:47:47):
the first down across the thirty five. Johnson stays on
his feet and he rumbles his way down to the
thirty one yard line.

Speaker 2 (01:47:53):
Good run there by Tommy Johnson.

Speaker 9 (01:47:55):
H a boy.

Speaker 1 (01:47:58):
By number fifty six on a fourth and one, nearly
broke one off there down to the thirty one yard line.
That's the end of the third quarter. Tevin Mackfield on
the stop there, and that's the end of the third.
We head to the fourth all Bulldogs forty one seven
over Callaway. You're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker. Well,

(01:48:23):
Bulldog fans, if you didn't make it out tonight, you
missed the fourth quarter light show we got going on
right now with a little swag surfing here, a Bulldog
stadium coach McCracken steal in his seat.

Speaker 2 (01:48:33):
Though we're gonna get We'll get him to swag.

Speaker 8 (01:48:36):
I like that song.

Speaker 1 (01:48:37):
Now, we'll we'll get you to swag surf at the
against the jag Jaguars next home game. First down in ten,
Fuller Young in that quarterback. Bulldogs are down to the
thirty one yard line. First down in ten. It's the

(01:48:59):
stamp hand off far side of the field. Good hold
across the twenty five on the carry there Jalen Nelson,
a sophomore running back that I tell you what.

Speaker 8 (01:49:11):
Yeah, that kid can run right there. I saw some
tape on him today.

Speaker 3 (01:49:15):
He is the fastest kid on this team for thirty yards,
like running a forty yard.

Speaker 8 (01:49:21):
Hey, I watched him today on film. He's just a
tenth grader or two.

Speaker 1 (01:49:26):
Well, they picked up six yards second down and four
at the twenty five yard line. The only guy of
the shot gun gets the snamp hands off to another
tailback in the ball game. Hit at the line of scrimmage.
Its number thirty two, Darius story Our CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:49:43):
Pink.

Speaker 9 (01:49:43):
Rather so CJ.

Speaker 2 (01:49:46):
Pink gets in the ball game.

Speaker 8 (01:49:49):
Fuller could have kept that one right there and scored.

Speaker 1 (01:49:53):
Pink got a one yard game. On the play, now
we'll see number ten. This is Lewis Murley who checks
in the game. Lewis has always been quarterback and decided, yeah,
that's a pretty pack quarterback room, and he made the
executive decision along with the coaching staff, to go to
eighth's back, so may you get a carry here at
the tailback position. Lewis is another very athletic guy, and

(01:50:14):
he's still listed on the roster as a quarterback. But
Lewis is a five eight one and seventy five pound
tailback right now in the game here on the third
and four, Lewis does get the hand off and he
has strung out. He's slung down in the backfield. You'll
be fourth down. And he didn't have much of a
chance on that one. No, he had Jakwan Mitchell on

(01:50:35):
him really quickly.

Speaker 8 (01:50:40):
Who is number fourteen?

Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
That's that's the quarterback. It's full of young that's fuller.

Speaker 8 (01:50:45):
How come he's got number seven written on them.

Speaker 1 (01:50:48):
You're looking at the wrong you're looking at a nine
updated roster, I think, coach.

Speaker 8 (01:50:52):
No, this is this from here? From now, I don't
know the.

Speaker 1 (01:50:57):
Young guy of the shot and gun back in at
tailback is jay Al Nelson. They're going far it here
here we go, yeah, shotgun snap play action, fuller may
throw for it, throws towards the ends on all alone.
Caught touchdown. How us hold him?

Speaker 2 (01:51:10):
My number eighty two?

Speaker 1 (01:51:11):
Caden Piers, a sophomore wide receiver, Poor Young's first varsity touchdown.
Throw and catch to Caden Piers, the sophomore wide.

Speaker 8 (01:51:19):
Receiver, Soft Foor soft for there you go.

Speaker 1 (01:51:23):
How about play fuller Young? Nice throw Fuller And sometimes
those could be the hardest throws when they're wide open. Boy,
he was wide open. Good catch there by Cad and
Peers and a good throw there by Fuller Young.

Speaker 9 (01:51:39):
Mac Light.

Speaker 8 (01:51:40):
Rock's gonna love that one down there. Yeah. I just
told Bam, I said, we're going here it for Rock
all night long.

Speaker 1 (01:51:47):
Here's Reees Beasley for the point after a tempt out
of here and the kick is up and the kick
is good. Forty eight seven. Another OPAL like a power
services scoring drive. Opal like a power services hometown. People
working for you and back cracking down on the field
with the four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report. There
after that touchdown, We'll be right back after this time
out you're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker.

(01:52:16):
Welcome back here to Bulldog Stadium, fourth quarter action, nine
forty six left here in this one, forty eight to
seven Bulldogs over Callaway. It's been all opal like at
tonight here in signed Bulldogs Stadium, the fourth quarter like show.
What a fun night it has been here in the
home opener for the Brian Moore era and the Dogs
looking to go two in O and nine forty six

(01:52:36):
away from going too and oh and setting up a
big one next week against the Auburn High Tigers. Youngster
Reyes Beasley puts a good boot into that one that
will hit at the ten yard line. It'll die down.
Callaway's got to scoop it up. They're in trouble hitting
taking down at the twelve yard line by the Bulldogs.
And one up was Elijah Odin in there on a
stop and also number forty six le Keidrick Birds good.

Speaker 8 (01:53:02):
Let a lot of these young kids play now. This
is great.

Speaker 1 (01:53:06):
Well, Keydrick another neighborhood hang out. I don't have to
give him some credit when I see him this weekend.
We got some good ones that hang out over on
our side of town. Coach mccracket. You want to know
what's going on with the football team, you can find
out on Dan Street Street.

Speaker 2 (01:53:24):
It has been fun to get to know some of
these guys and all good kids too.

Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
Nine oh six left here in the ball game, forty
eight to seven our score, and here comes callaway back
out Calloway trying to run this clock here, and I
think we are rolling the clock here in this one.
And we'll see who Calloway comes back out here with quarterback.

Speaker 9 (01:53:51):
Could be a J.

Speaker 1 (01:53:53):
Williams again, it is the freshman handed to the tailback
and good run there, either running back.

Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
Or he's a little foul. Edney is he's about He
looks like he's about five seven.

Speaker 1 (01:54:06):
That's Christian Kennedy, the sophomore. He was a starting tailback.
He's back in the game. There. Warner McDonald on the
stop there for the Bulldogs, the first down from the
twenty three yard line. Dogs on defense. Here Calloway trying
to run this clock here, eight oh nine left, and

(01:54:31):
the clock is rolling as Calloway is gonna let it
every second tick.

Speaker 8 (01:54:35):
Away off this far they are they're not in any hurry.

Speaker 1 (01:54:38):
And I will say Calloway's got a host of players
over there under the tent, and you may not be
able to see it. Of course, I listening to us
on the radio, Tailback carries it down to the up
to the twenty six. He got about four or five players, coach,
that are ineligible right now. They've been eligible for a year,
and these are going to be starters for this team.
Here in week five, we understand three yards and they're

(01:55:01):
really they feel like short handed right now early part
of the season. Hayden Lipscomb on the stop there for
the Bulldogs. So this will probably be a much improved
callaway team down the stretch. And of course, well you
know that coach. Their program is now.

Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
He's been there twenty years, coach, and I tell.

Speaker 8 (01:55:18):
You gave one like how many region tied ten.

Speaker 1 (01:55:21):
Raision titles and he's got eleven seasons with over ten wins.

Speaker 8 (01:55:24):
Oh gosh, that is great.

Speaker 2 (01:55:26):
Pete Wiggins knows how to coach and he'll get this program.
I guarantee you.

Speaker 1 (01:55:30):
We'll see them make a run here in their division
hand off in the backfield and they flagged down. I
think they may be a face mask on atle like boy,
they called three.

Speaker 8 (01:55:40):
Hey, three flags came out at one time. That's got
to be a face mask.

Speaker 1 (01:55:45):
Yeah, Jacody Jackson on the stop there for the Bulldogs.
Six point fifty six left clock has stopped with a
penalty here forty eight to seven Bulldogs with the lead
over callaway.

Speaker 8 (01:55:57):
Now that's what it is, and it was a.

Speaker 1 (01:56:00):
Sheall foul face mask against Opalaiko. Reminders, stay tuned after
tonight's ball game for the Jeff coche Trant Funeral Home
postgame show. Coach Brian Morelly joining us up here in
the box recapping this game, of course a little bit

(01:56:20):
later on to be the nine Core Rehabilitation High School
Scoreboard show after tonight's ball game. After that penalty to
be first and ten callaway from there on forty six,
hand off to the tailback again. He'll run left side
close to a first down, about a nine yard run,

(01:56:42):
carries it down to the Opalaika forty six. That's Michel
Jackson on the stop there for the Bulldog's. Good to
see Michel in there.

Speaker 8 (01:56:52):
Yeah, we got a lot of our twos and threes
in there. I know theres Thomas is in there like Grant.

Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
Now, Michel is my neighbor too, so if he scoops
and scores.

Speaker 9 (01:57:04):
Yeah, may go crazy too.

Speaker 8 (01:57:06):
A Mayor Johnson.

Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
Second down on one coming up here for Callaway at
the Bulldog forty five.

Speaker 5 (01:57:16):
A J.

Speaker 1 (01:57:17):
Williams quarterback checks the sidelines, hand off in a whistle
stops the play. Five point thirty two left here in
this ballgame.

Speaker 8 (01:57:32):
They must have somebody must have jumped.

Speaker 1 (01:57:43):
All sides against Opelaika, and there's an official time out,
a heat time out on the field. We'll take it
with them here forty eight seven Bulldogs with the lead
five fifteen to go in this one.

Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
We're back after this time out. You're list of the.

Speaker 1 (01:57:56):
Bulldog football here on the kicker the Binish school out
of the time out, first and ten Callaway, Cavaliers trailing
forty eight to seven Bulldogs in control of this will
hand off to the tailback, runs for four yards left side.

(01:58:17):
He has stopped on the play by Elijah Odin of Opelaika,
and this will set up a second down and six
for the Cavaliers as they've got it down close to
the Bulldog thirty six yard line.

Speaker 8 (01:58:34):
Elijah Oden's a tenth grader.

Speaker 1 (01:58:37):
Number fifty second down and six four twenty five left
in the ballgame. Callaway turned it over twice early in
this game. Bulldogs jumped ahead fourteen nothing and really never
have looked back. Twenty eight seven half time lead. Bulldogs
ran the opening kickoff to start the second half and

(01:58:58):
it's been on cruise control ever since. Second and six,
hand off to the tailback, good hold across the thirty
first down inside the twenty five and pushed out of
bounds right at the twenty five. We'll see where they
mark him down. I think maybe the twenty six is
where they forced him out of bounds. Jamel Griffin youngster
there on the stop play game to up first down.

Speaker 8 (01:59:21):
My Lea kai Byaman on that tackle, number twenty nine junior.

Speaker 1 (01:59:26):
Playing a lot of young kids tonight. Down to the
twenty seven of Opelaka. First and ten Callaway three thirty five.
A left hand off again to the tailback as is
Isaiah Terrell. Another good run. He's inside the fifteen down
to the fourteen yard line. This will be first and
ten coming up. Hayden Lipscombe number forty three.

Speaker 3 (01:59:44):
Hayden Lipscombe, Hayden Lipscomb, number forty three on the tackle.

Speaker 8 (01:59:49):
If we can get a stop down here.

Speaker 1 (01:59:51):
Van Bulldogs bringing some substitutions in first and ten at
the fourteen of Opelaika here with just three oh eight left,
clock continuing to roll here forty eight to seven Bulldogs
with the lead hand off goes to Terrell inside the five.
His hit stays on his feet, fighting hard to the
end zone. He's in for the touchdown for the Calves

(02:00:11):
with two fifty five left in the clock. Stop there.
Good run there though by Isaiah Terrell, number nineteen, and
good hard running here late in the game by that guy.

Speaker 2 (02:00:25):
He's a junior.

Speaker 1 (02:00:31):
So we'll see the point after attempt up coming here
for the Calves, and hopefully the Bulldogs can run the
rest of this clock off here when they get the football,
looks like the offense will stay out trying to go
for two here. Quarterback aj Williams, like we mentioned earlier,
was told he's Tank Bigsby's brother. No, he's got to

(02:00:55):
be a athlete. He's a freshman here taking the stamp,
drops back. It looks like he wants to throw fade
pass to the end zone and it is just dropped
in the back corner of the end zone. I was
a good ball thrown by Williams, yep, But it was
incomplete as that one was dropped by number sixteens to
Quinton Williams, so incomplete forty eight thirteen, and the score

(02:01:17):
will stay and Calloway will kick it off to the Bulldogs.
We come back and listen to bulldog football here on
the Calloway scores forty eight thirteen. Our score two fifty
five left Oklaika with a big lead here late in
this one and some of the crowds starting to file on.

(02:01:39):
Our bulldogs hopefully can run the rest of this clock
out here. On this next offensive possession kicking, there's a
short kick off the hand of Lewis Murley and I
believe Calloway is gonna come up with it.

Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
They will.

Speaker 9 (02:01:57):
Well.

Speaker 1 (02:01:57):
Merley tried to go up and snatch it out of
the air as a line drive kick and Calloway's going
to come up with it here with two forty six left.
D Glanton came up with that one for Callaway. Calloway
recovered the kick well, that one.

Speaker 2 (02:02:14):
I know they weren't really expected it.

Speaker 1 (02:02:15):
They weren't lined up in a on side kick, but
that was a line shot and Merly tried to go
up awkwardly kind of bring it down and he's frustrated
coming off, but how to shake that one off? Defense
seething hold him out of the end zone here two seventeen,
the clock continues to run. Calloway may be content, just
trying to take a knee almost and get to get

(02:02:38):
back to Hogansville. They continue to run the clock here,
lad In this one it's a snap goes back to
Terrell again. This guy can tote the football though, Well,
they got some good down he'll runner. Yeah, he's thirty one,
twelve yard pickup and first down for the Calves.

Speaker 5 (02:03:01):
To go.

Speaker 1 (02:03:07):
Bulldog fans, don't forget coming up next week, it'll be
a great preview of the big rivalry game against Auburn
at First Baptist Church in Opal like a Thursday for
coach Brian Moore's annual weekly luncheon. Make sure an RSVP
during the week look for that link on social media.
It's just ten dollars for a great meal from noon
to one, and you get a great preview watching film
of an opponent. The tackle there for a short pickup,

(02:03:30):
just a yard on the carry there by number eighteen
Elijah Vines.

Speaker 8 (02:03:33):
Yeah, they and throwing a pass and.

Speaker 3 (02:03:37):
I would imagine they gonna try to trunk it here
in just a second and fifty second and nine, let's
see if I'm roy O Thomas.

Speaker 1 (02:03:46):
Bea Zamy or Thomas on the stop for the Bulldogs
on that one. But under a minute to go now
and the clock continues to run. But again, make sure
and attend that lunch if you can. On Thursday, Coach
More goes over some film. They'll have a guest and
great opportunity again to breaks and bread with fellow opal
likea fans is. I know anticipation will be high next
week heading into that Auburn game.

Speaker 8 (02:04:06):
Yes, sir, absolutely, And.

Speaker 1 (02:04:08):
Where can you go eat for ten dollars with a drink?
That's right, I mean nowhere? Thirty five seconds left, another
hand off at another good run here that was again
Elijah Vines and he's a freshman, Elija.

Speaker 8 (02:04:25):
Come on, dogs, don't let them score.

Speaker 1 (02:04:27):
Hopelka will make the trip to Lagrange next year to
play this game. And a lot of these guys are
youngsters on this team. That's going to be a talented group.

Speaker 9 (02:04:34):
Again.

Speaker 1 (02:04:35):
As Harrington the quarterback just a junior, he'll be back
and I think Coach Wiggins calling that one a day
here he brings his offense off the field and the
Bulldogs get a good Week two win here in the
hall boatner here at Bulldog Stadium, dominating forty eight thirteen
win over Callaway tonight here in Bulldog Stadium. And boy,

(02:04:55):
that was a that was a fun one, coach, Oh,
that was fun.

Speaker 10 (02:04:58):
Thank you for coming tonight.

Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
When we come back our postgame show. It's brought to
you by Jeff Coach. Tranp Funeral Home is on the way.
Next Bulldog's a winner forty eight thirteen. Here listening to
bulldog football here on the kicker back here at Bulldog Stadium,

(02:05:21):
a happy crowd. Here is a forty eight thirteen win
tonight for the Opaka Bulldogs over the Callaway Cavaliers. Dominating
performance here for the opal like a Bulldog's coach McCracken.
And I tell you what it started from the start
because we had a Devin Dixon interception that really got
things going. And then Amari Smiley, well, you know, I
should say Calvin Hugley was able to do what Calvin

(02:05:42):
does and he was able to take that drive thirty
six yards on his own, cap it off with a touchdown,
and then on the next play It was a big
defensive play by Mary Smiley who stripped the ball away
from Blake Harrington and then set that up for another
a Bulldog scorer before you could blink, opal like it
was leading this thing fourteen to nothing to really never
looked back twenty eight seven at halftime though, and you

(02:06:05):
said it was a key to start the second half.
What we do eighty two yard kickoff return by Jamary
Miller and the Dogs were on cruise control from that
point on.

Speaker 3 (02:06:12):
d'An tee you Brian talked to about those first five
minutes the third quarter and they that was a great guy.
They would a kickoff return. That was some great plays
for us. And we're proud of our football team. Uh,
the way they played tonight such a big improvement from
I don't think we punted tonight?

Speaker 9 (02:06:32):
Did we?

Speaker 1 (02:06:32):
And we did not?

Speaker 2 (02:06:34):
They didn't have one pun You're right, I think we punted.

Speaker 1 (02:06:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:06:36):
So anyway, hey, let's get ready for Auburn and but
they need to get to enjoy this tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:06:43):
Absolutely post games, go ahead, go this team.

Speaker 3 (02:06:47):
You know, this Callaway team has played us just rock
solid the last seven years.

Speaker 1 (02:06:53):
I was about to say the biggest deficit in this series.
Was that a thirty five twenty one win that Calloway
had on Open Life, which is a fourteen point win
back in twenty eighteen.

Speaker 2 (02:07:03):
The other games have all been right there.

Speaker 1 (02:07:05):
You know a point was a difference maker a couple
of years ago, and we know Calloways down some players,
but it was certainly a dominating performance. Tonight from OPALAKA
forty eight thirteen again the final. Our postgame show continues,
presented by Jeff Coach Trant Funeral Home. We'll have a
visit with coach Brian Moore coming up on the way.
We'll take a quick time out and come back and
listen to Bulldog football here on the Kicker. Welcome back here.

(02:07:34):
Our postgame show continues. It is presented by Jeff Coach
Trant Funeral Hall, My Van Riggs alongside coach Bence mccrackett
and coach Brian Moore is making his way up to
the press box here. Well, he'll be joining us here
as we continue with our postgame show. Coach improvements. So
you'd like to see with this team make from week
two to week three. I know you're happy where we are.
We're all happy being two and oh, but we know
improvements are going to have to be made as we continue,

(02:07:55):
especially next week against one of the top teams in
the state and top five teams of the state in Auburn.

Speaker 8 (02:08:00):
Big challenge.

Speaker 3 (02:08:01):
And I listened to the game last year, but I
wasn't able to go because I had to go see
my granddaughter down in Mobile and uh, and I know
how close that game was and how close we came
to winning that game. But then I just tell you now,
we're gonna have to bore next next week, and it's it's.

Speaker 8 (02:08:23):
Gonna be a war.

Speaker 3 (02:08:25):
I know it is, because I know they feel good
about their team and where they're at. They've got some
really good players. But you know what, we've got some
good players too, and we're undefeated, they're undefeated. I'm sure
it'll be a packed house over at Auburn, and I'm
looking forward to it.

Speaker 9 (02:08:44):
And I think, uh, the kicking game.

Speaker 3 (02:08:50):
It came into play tonight, but not as much because more,
how are you, brother good Man's.

Speaker 1 (02:08:58):
More joining us up here in the booth him get
taken his catch his breath for a second, because boy,
I tell you what coming up those step it can
it can get you, but you can catch your breath
all leasier after win, can't you, no doubt.

Speaker 9 (02:09:08):
No doubt about it.

Speaker 6 (02:09:09):
Proud of the kids, Uh you know handle business early
started really fast. Uh really in both half started fast,
So proud of that. That was better than last week.
So still got some things to clean up and had
to turn over going in would have put it thirty
five to.

Speaker 9 (02:09:23):
Seven, you know, half and so got some things to fix.
But proud of the kids.

Speaker 2 (02:09:27):
All right, what what do you think?

Speaker 1 (02:09:28):
I mean really just overall, because when you came out
in the second half, I know you wanted to make
up one, make a play. It's twenty eight to seven,
little tight, But how about you Maari Miller Tonight?

Speaker 6 (02:09:38):
Yeah, well, you know they had Poots kick that thing
over there the first time, the only other return that
we had early, and so we slid him up and
because we wanted you know, him to get it.

Speaker 9 (02:09:47):
We'll have to find ways for that to happen. But
you know, good blocking up there too, and he's really patient,
you know, and when he makes.

Speaker 6 (02:09:52):
A decision he's lightning, So he's really really patient early
and then really came out of there.

Speaker 9 (02:09:57):
So yeah, I mean, great, great way to start.

Speaker 1 (02:10:01):
What would you like to see out of your team, coach,
really improve on as you as you make your way
into a tough game next week against Auburn. I know
you saw some improvements from week one to week two tonight,
we all did, but I know you want to improve
from week two to week three.

Speaker 6 (02:10:12):
Yeah, I think there's some lulls that are happening still,
you know, especially defensively to where we've got you know, uh,
you know, we've got a deal. You know in the
there in the what was it the second quarter, we
gave up a big drive. We did the same thing
with Ben Russell, and we got to clean that up
a little bit. Still, a couple of penalties. How to
face my ask, how to I believe a hold at

(02:10:33):
some point? But you know, we just got to clean
that stuff up and uh, you know, and just be
more consistent. That's that's gonna be the word all year,
you know, to play four quarters really really consistent. You know,
that's what we're hunting for. And uh, it was it
was a step towards that. But obviously we know, you
know what's coming next week and the level of opponent
that were getting ready to play.

Speaker 1 (02:10:52):
That was a quality team you still played tonight I
know they were missing some pieces and they were shorthanded
in some ways, but they had some dudes, as we
like to say they did, and the quarterbacks a gamer.

Speaker 6 (02:11:01):
I mean, he played really, really hard. He took some
shots tonight and uh really played hard. And you know, again,
we weren't as clean as we wanted to be.

Speaker 8 (02:11:09):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:11:09):
You know, we didn't spill the ball quite like we
wanted some some you know that drive. Really the UH
front got some movement on us. Weren't tight as we
needed to be, and we didn't tackle back quite as
well as we wanted and we lost six. You know,
a couple of times in the middle of field, you
know the play that he got kind of knocked out on.
You know, he he got clean in the middle. I
think it happened three times in the first half. And
we just didn't stay connected in zone right there. And

(02:11:31):
so that can't happen that again. That's another scramble drill issue,
and so we're gonna go back to work on that
and see if we can stay connected a little bit longer.

Speaker 1 (02:11:38):
It was very good practice, I know, because Auburn's quarterback
as a scrambler, he can make throws downfield. Now he
was very Johnny Manzel, like I thought out there in
times tonight, he was good.

Speaker 6 (02:11:47):
He was a good player and and made some plays
for him and some really tough runs. That's what we
noticed on film. I thought he was a better runner
than the benter Russell kid. And uh, he showed that
he was a tough runner and uh made some made
some hard first downs and and they battled. You know, again,
they are a little thin and kind of got some
guys going both ways and it's hot tonight, and caught
some cramps and so you know, we ran the clock
in the fourth quarter to get those kids out of

(02:12:08):
here because they've got a good team and they'll compete
in the region. They're gonna have some more guys back,
and coach Wiggins just does a great job. That's a
that's a high level program, and they'll win a bunch
of games.

Speaker 1 (02:12:16):
Your defensive line tonight, coach really took a step. I
thought they they were in there on pressure and you
mentioned had a pressure that he had on them all night,
and it was from the defensive line tonight, kind of
like it was the linebackers last week, it was the
defensive line this week.

Speaker 6 (02:12:28):
Yeah, we may have used some comments that were made
a week ago to kind of spark some intensity. So
that's okay, we use that stuff to fuel our fire
a little bit. But I thought the kids played hard.
I thought, you know, I thought A Maury still has
not impacted the game like I think he's going to
at some point. You know, in the spring game, I
thought A Mariy was like dynamic two sacks and that
sort of thing, and he's getting doubled and he's getting

(02:12:49):
a little bit frustrated with that. But we've got to
do a better job of kind of finding ways to
single him up. You know.

Speaker 9 (02:12:54):
I thought my league showed up tonight.

Speaker 6 (02:12:56):
Lightfoot's been really solid really in their last two games,
and I can can you you know, we were hunting
through camp and really through the summer for that that
defensive end spot. So the so the week side end,
the boundary in and and I think we found that
in Tremaine Thomas he's had a he's had an excellent
two games. I think Braden Stinson's played well, and I
think the D line played a lot of guys. I

(02:13:16):
noticed Josh Dawson in there, you know, I noticed, uh,
Carmel Torbert played in there. Tonight a little bit of
a guy that's playing both ways a little for us.
The only kid we have right now playing both ways
because Money Thomas is out and he'll be back next week.

Speaker 9 (02:13:27):
But but yeah, getting building some doubt. And that's one thing.

Speaker 6 (02:13:30):
When I got here, I said, y'all, I watched every
game last year, and these kids played sixty snaps on
the D line, and that just is really tough to
do and play at a high level. So we want
to rotate those guys and and you know, we want
to pick our spots. But you know, I think our
our two's are quality guys that can come in and play,
and we can play nine or ten guys up front.
You saw Jordan Stinson tonight, Jalen and Jirell's brother. I mean,

(02:13:52):
he's really he's really a good player that's gonna come
on as a junior.

Speaker 9 (02:13:56):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:13:56):
And then Terres Thomas, you know, played a lot tonight
as well. So we played a lot of guys up there.
Really proud of those guys.

Speaker 1 (02:14:01):
I think we saw a lot more out of Kobe
Key tonight. We got to get his number figured out though,
but we're gonna work on that. But I tell you, though, Hey,
but the way he moves around in the pocket, and
I don't think you threw a bad ball all night.
There was a couple of drops, but I tell you
he is on the money. And then he even turned
it up and ran it that one time, which was
a good decision on his part. I know, if you
were grading him tonight, boy, he had another good performance.

Speaker 9 (02:14:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (02:14:23):
The only issue, you know, when we hit Jamori on
the post, you know he would kind of fumbled the exchange.
We worked really hard to be under center because you know,
that's not a skill you're teach anymore. Kids in youth
league don't do that, and so that's something we've worked
on from spring all the way through summer and camp.
But proud of Colby and uh, you know, he's a gamer,
you know, to a point where you know the ball
with the had been at fumbled. He really shouldn't have
gone there. That was he was double covered and ball

(02:14:45):
got kind of got punched out, which we've got to
take care of. But there's still little things that were
cleaning up. But I love that he's taking screens to
Jamuri and you know, Brody and and those guys on
the edge. Jalen Washington they blocked so hard out there,
you know that they give had a chance to kind
of take it and go. But uh, but again, I
love our balance. I thought we were more balanced than
a week ago. You know, we were only through eight
times last week, so I don't know how many we
had tonight, but better, uh, and more, and we're spreading

(02:15:08):
the ball around to a lot of People's good to
see Slade Clayton, you know, get close to scoring right there.
I thought we had drew on the drag right there.
And how about Fuller Young throwing his first.

Speaker 1 (02:15:16):
I was about to say, right, may give us a
coke if we talk about Fuller because he did a
great throw.

Speaker 6 (02:15:20):
He had he did and you know CJ was under
the weather this week, so he'll be back next week,
so we were being really cautious with him. He didn't
practice a whole lot. So you know, again we're trying
to get towards region play really healthy. So we've done
everything we can to try to get there. But proud
of Fuller man. The Fuller's really gotten better and through
a great brawl to Kayden Pierce, who's the tenth grader,
it's gonna be a good player. And so again proud,

(02:15:41):
proud of our kids that came in and played defense
and we gave up the touchdown. We played probably forty
guys on defense though we ran a lot of kids
in and uh. But but again, it was nice to
see those numbers that don't get caught a whole lot
to be able to run in that ball game.

Speaker 1 (02:15:53):
I know, going into holiday on Monday, you're gonna have
a little different schedule. School won't be in, so you're
still gonna bring the guys in just like a normal weekend.

Speaker 6 (02:16:00):
Yeah, we'll we'll we'll take tomorrow off. Of course, we'll
all work and get ahead on that. But Sunday, Sunday
will work. We've had some long sundays, you know. There's
a lot to prepare at this level to get ready
for all the things that you see and the great
coaches that are on the other sideline.

Speaker 3 (02:16:13):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (02:16:14):
And then Monday, we'll go Monday morning, so we'll feed
them breakfast and go through our day. It'll be a
long day. We'll eat lunch together, and then we'll have
a JV game actually here at one o'clock.

Speaker 9 (02:16:23):
It's kind of a.

Speaker 6 (02:16:24):
Weird set up, but we're gonna play Pike Road here
at one o'clock.

Speaker 9 (02:16:28):
It's a cool deal.

Speaker 6 (02:16:31):
It'll be nine million on the turf, but you know
what I'll trade, you know, an hour and a half
to two hours in the heat to be able to
go home and get everybody, let them go and enjoyed,
you know, at three o'clock with their families.

Speaker 9 (02:16:41):
So we didn't want the kids to leave and have
to come back. That was cool, a cool way to
do that.

Speaker 6 (02:16:45):
And uh, that way we didn't have to play on
a Tuesday as well, you know, getting ready for Auburn.
So we all those things go into the equation, you know,
as you're trying to build and pick your practice time. So, uh,
that's how we'll operate. You know, I've told the kids
and parents we're gonna be here Monday. You know, we're
not gonna have you know, this is football season. Then
we're gonna we're gonna practice on holidays and some of
those kinds of things.

Speaker 1 (02:17:04):
So I'm not gonna you're not gonna treat them like
coach saving and go tubing and uh, you know, we.

Speaker 9 (02:17:08):
We probably won't go to the lake on Monday.

Speaker 6 (02:17:11):
So we're gonna get ready for Auburn, and we know
we're gonna to up our game as we head ended
next week.

Speaker 3 (02:17:15):
All Right, you only had that, You only gave up
twenty one yards rushing tonight. That's that's pretty dang good
at it, no doubt. Most of that was with a quarterback.
They lost contained on the quarterback a couple of times.
But uh, I thought that the biggest thing. I told
this to Mike was when you started the third quarter

(02:17:39):
and he runs a kickoff back and I know that
things were said about the first five minutes of the
third quarter and Van and I were talking about that,
and uh, I think they did outstanding.

Speaker 8 (02:17:51):
It was great that you got to play so many
kids tonight too.

Speaker 6 (02:17:54):
Well, yeah, that that's important, you know as a parent.
Now you know, I have an eighth grader, and you know,
I like it, you know in games when they run
out there and everybody gets to play and that sort
of thing. You know, But you need some of these
so that the kids stay invested. You know, they work
a lot, just like the rest of the kids to
be able to play. And that's also a coach. When
we're gonna play seven JV games in nine freshman games,
so we're gonna play our young kids and develop them

(02:18:17):
and we're gonna play a ton of seventh and eighth
grade games.

Speaker 9 (02:18:19):
Because that's what it's about.

Speaker 6 (02:18:20):
And it's tough, coach, you remember on those Mondays when
you're traveling wherever to play a JV game after a
two hour practice.

Speaker 9 (02:18:26):
I mean, but it's part of it. And those kids.

Speaker 6 (02:18:29):
You when you lose thirty plus seniors next year, you
better have a plan. And how did you develop those
kids that are in the tenth and ninth grade, you know,
get them ready to play football? So you know, cause
we're building We're not building a year. We're building a program.
We're not building it for now just now. You know,
we're building it for for ten to fifteen, twenty years
from now to make this thing special again. And and uh,
you know, we're taken two big steps. But again, you know,

(02:18:50):
I'm proud of the kids and where they are. But
our week next week, our level has to raise tremendously.
And I do want to say this to our community.
I've been around here for eight of these with auvern
and ople like, and I caution everybody this.

Speaker 9 (02:19:02):
I have been part of the.

Speaker 6 (02:19:03):
Times where we've become too emotional, you know, and we've
made it bigger than a football game, you know, and
it is a rivalry game. I get it right, and
I want to win, I promise you as much as
anybody on this earth Friday night. But I want us
to go about our business and how we prepare, okay,
to get better for the next opponent. Obviously there's special
things on it, but I don't want a bunch of

(02:19:25):
out of the routine things going on. I want to
go about our week as best we can prepare for
a football game, raise our level, and go over there
and plays absolutely as hard as we can. Without making
it too much about fans and the extra and all
that kind of stuff. Let's make it about ball and
being great Friday night and seeing what happens in a
great you know, football high school football environment.

Speaker 1 (02:19:46):
Well opa, like a winter tonight, forty eight thirteen over Callaway.
We're here bulldog stating with coach Brian Moore in our
postgame interview and real quick coach on the atmosphere. What
a great atmosphere was night, first time light show and
we had coach McCracken. He didn't white swag surf this week,
but I think you will in a couple of weeks.
Here at Bulldog Stadium.

Speaker 6 (02:20:04):
He's gonna have to stretch before, you know, and need
to make sure. But no, I think it's just what
We've talked about this a lot. But to see it,
you know, what a blessing. You know, this is the
greatest high school football stadium in Alabama or in the
southeast or wherever, but any I've ever been to this
is the nicest facility. And you know, I'm just truly grateful,
and I know our kids are. And you know, we

(02:20:24):
made a point about that this summer and how we
treated the summer and to and to be thankful for
the things that we have. And you know, we kind
of took this away from them a little while and
uh and put them back in this environment to say, look, now, okay.

Speaker 9 (02:20:37):
We're gonna give you this, but you're gonna appreciate it,
you know again.

Speaker 6 (02:20:40):
And I just am thankful for doctor Seymore on our
board and city and Mayor Fuller and the city council,
you know, Eddie Smith and everybody that's involved just to
put this together and help invest not only here but
our baseball field, our gym. You know, everybody's getting top
of the line, you know, facilities because it's.

Speaker 9 (02:20:57):
For all of our kids.

Speaker 6 (02:20:58):
And one other thing, how great is our band, you know,
talk about the environment and what mister Wagner and those
guys do, and Michael McGlenn and all them that are
involved in our cheerleaders and everybody. I just it's a show.
I always talk about being three parts when we go somewhere.
You know, everybody's putting on a show for our fans,
and we certainly appreciate them coming out tonight.

Speaker 9 (02:21:18):
I looked up.

Speaker 6 (02:21:19):
I don't look up a whole lot, but I did
a couple of times just to see it, and it
was absolutely packed tonight. We've sold more corporate sponsorships and
reserve seats than.

Speaker 9 (02:21:27):
A long time, is my understanding. And I'm just grateful
for this community.

Speaker 6 (02:21:30):
And everybody's excited, and I know everybody will be excited
for next Friday as well.

Speaker 8 (02:21:34):
We need everybody to come to listen to him at
the church on Thursday lunch. I hope you from.

Speaker 3 (02:21:41):
Twelve to one and bring you ten dollars to eat
and coach more. Now, they just do a great job
talking about our next opponent, and it's good fellowship with everybody,
and so we need to get a bunch of folks
down there to the church. I think we had about
one hundred there today, but we can put a lot
more in there, can't we.

Speaker 1 (02:22:02):
Oh yeah, absolutely, yeah Thursday night and make sure and
there'll be a reservation link during the week and uh,
it's gonna be an exciting week and I know you will.
We'll have a chance for you to preview Auburn show,
some film from this this highlight this game, and you
know it's it's uh, you know, if folks are out
there a little weirdy about a church event, this is
just a it's a football lunch at a church. So
just come I mean, you know, you don't have to
be a member of the church. That's just where we're

(02:22:23):
having it. You know, come in and eat lunch ten bucks.
You can't go to McDonald's now and get you get
a lunch for ten dollars with.

Speaker 9 (02:22:29):
A drink, right, stuff too there at the church. It is.
It's good. Did you have any.

Speaker 8 (02:22:33):
Update on your linebacker?

Speaker 6 (02:22:36):
You know, a dog feels good about it, and so
you know, we prayed for him there at halftime and
just said, you know, Lord, you know he's been through enough.

Speaker 9 (02:22:43):
You know, please, you know, take care of Tyler.

Speaker 6 (02:22:45):
And he just he's such an outstanding young man and
with a great family, and so you know, I'm gonna
continue to pray for him and we'll find out more
Monday about Hoigh Fields. But he's he's optimistic, you know,
and I and I always talk to the kids about
that anytime I go out to get them on the field,
I say, man, you gotta think positive. You know everything's
gonna be okay. You know, don't can't go there mentally.

(02:23:06):
And so just he was moving around at halftime. We
held him out of precaution. So we'll see Monday. You
know what the MRIs shows is just a double check.
And again, everybody, you know, our Oplock community, please you know,
pray for Tyler Moore and his family through this.

Speaker 9 (02:23:20):
So hoping for the best.

Speaker 1 (02:23:22):
All right, coach, go enjoy the rest of this evening
with your team and your family. I know they were here,
and enjoy the win. Congratulations, Thanks man, All right, Thanks,
