the Stadium and the voice of the Bulldogs Dan Riggs.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Well if you have a senior night inside Bulldog Stadium.
As the Opelika Bulldogs get ready to take on the
Central Phoenix City Red Devils for the eighty second time
in school history of these long standing rivals, have a
lot on the line tonight as both teams come in
with four and one region records on the season and
the winner of this game would pretty much seal up
the number two seed in the region. So a lot
(01:41):
on the line tonight with these two teams squaring off
Central Phoenix City six and one overall four and one
in the region. As we mentioned, Central has not been
the dominant Central that we've been used to seeing here
in the area. The team has won two games by
seven points or less, and they dropped a home game
to Auburn back thirty eight thirty two on October. The
fourth still team that is really good and that sits
(02:01):
well positioned again to make a good playoff run the
Bulldogs four and one and and then play their best
football of late Ope like has won four games by
more than twenty points this season. They just miss adding
their fifth by that margin, and a seventeen point win
last week over then number five Enterprise here inside Bulldog Stadium.
The Dogs only added three more points in the second half,
(02:22):
but OPLA could jumped out to a twenty four to
nothing lead and route to a thirty to thirteen dominating
win over at the Enterprise Wildcat. Certainly, coach Knicks is
zeroed in on this Bulldog team. Here's what coach Nicks
had to say earlier this week about the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
But a huge up front, you know, and so that'll
present its own challenge itself. They've done a great job
against us, and you know, since I've been here, defensively,
they probably have given us more problems than anybody just
all over the place, you know. I mean, just it's
almost like they're just pulling something out of the hat.
Let's run this, let's run that, and sometimes it's worked
(02:59):
well for them, sometimes it hasn't. You know, We've hit
big plays on them here and there, but for the
most part, it's it's really worked pretty well for them.
They've done a good job, in my opinion against us,
you know, the the you know, most of the time.
I guess three years ago it was the one time
that we ran away with the game pretty good at
our place. But you know, we've had a challenge lost
to them at their place, you know, And so we've
(03:20):
had a challenge each year that we've played them. It's
been just like you said, it's a rivalry, a great rivalry,
and getst a very talented team, you know, and they
are and they'll do a great job of of scheming
things up and you know, and and all that kind
of stuff. I mean, they're they're good. They're you know,
talented to be very good OFFENSI where they gonna run
the football offensively, you know. I mean that's just who
(03:41):
they are, what they do. And they're big, they're physical,
they're athletic up front. You know, they'll pull everybody known
to man. You know, We've they're got a big running back,
big full back, a couple of very talented wide receivers
and so, I mean, they're they're good. They're very very solid,
very good.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
Central coach Patrick Niggs Is talked about the Bulldogs earlier
this week on his weekly coaches show. A lot on
the line tonight, we'll visit with our head coach, Brian
Moore as we come on the way back. Next, and
our of course, our pregame show presented each and every
week by the fine folks at Frederick Dean Funeral Home.
Coming to you from the Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth, East
Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care. A Senior night
(04:18):
and the seniors have packed the field, the cheerleaders, the
band members and now the football players being introduced on
the field. Should be an emotional night and hopefully that
emotion carries the Bulldogs onto a big win here over
the number two ranked Central Phoenix City Red Devils. We'll
continue with our pregame show after this time out. You're
listening to Bulldog football here on the Kicker.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
Now it's time for a pregame visit with Opelakah head
football coach Brian Moore, presented by South State Bank. Now
with Coach, here's Van Riggs.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Big one to night here inside Bulldog Stadium is open
like you gets ready to take on Central Phoenix City
and Coach, don't tell your kids much when they play Central,
I mean they know what's at stake here. Late in
the season and they know what kind of opponent they're
going up against tonight.
Speaker 5 (05:00):
There's no doubt about it.
Speaker 6 (05:01):
I mean, you know, the kids play them from the
time they're in seventh grade on or even in youth
leagues as well.
Speaker 5 (05:06):
But you know it's a huge game for us, you
know them as well.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
You know this goes a long way as far as
seating and home playoff, you know, birth and being being
able to play in your own stadium I think is
crucial obviously for us. Being in Bulldagh Stadium tonight is
massive for our team. Our kids are colorable here. We've
played really well at home so far this year and
hopefully that continues tonight.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
What have you seen from your team, you know, weekend
and week out that you continue love to see.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
I think you know we're progressing still.
Speaker 6 (05:32):
You know, a lot of times you get towards the
end of the year, it's hard to continue to get
better and improve. And I really think this team is
I don't think this team is peaked, and that's really
encouraging and exciting, especially with some of the big wins
that we've had so far. But you know, there's a
lot left and we continue to go back to work.
Our kids are completely bought in and they're excited about
the remainder of the year and obviously excited about tonight.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
It is Senior Night tonight, coach. I know, talk about
some of these seniors. This is a big group of seniors,
and I know they want to go out with a.
Speaker 5 (05:59):
Win, one of those deals.
Speaker 6 (06:00):
For me personally, I wish I had more time with them.
You know, I feel like these past nine months have
gone by so quickly, and I just I'm so thankful
for them and the job that they've done. And you know,
I kept talking when I got here about a legacy
and sort of a you know, leaving your mark on
this program, and they're doing that, you know, and and
they bought in and and then didn't have to. You know,
(06:21):
this is a change for them, and you know they
obviously with young people, it's hard, you know, to experience
a change. But I'm so thankful for them, their parents,
the whole community.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
But it is a great class.
Speaker 6 (06:31):
I mean, there's over thirty of those guys, and you know,
there's a.
Speaker 5 (06:35):
Lot of big shoes to feel going forward.
Speaker 6 (06:36):
But again, I'm just proud of them and hopefully got
a lot of football left to play.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
With them eight straight games. I know ed's hard. I mean,
here we are in the eighth week and you haven't
had a break, no off week. It hadn't come till
you know, after next week's game against Carver, and how's
your team. I know they've got to be God, there's
got to be some bumps and bruises along the way.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
Yeah, for sure. I mean it's a physical deal. I
will say this. You know, all but two of our
guys will go so so Bennet Young and Brandon Massey
are still out, but you know everybody else will go tonight,
and so we're thankful for that. That says a lot
about Cade McGee and the job he's done with our
strength program. You know, all the nutrition, all the food,
our lunch room staff, Misslaye and everybody.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
That all plays into your health, and then taking care
of my practice.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
Our coaches have done a good job of making sure
that you know, that balance between being physical, you know,
having good versus good sharpening periods, but also having scout
periods and being in shells and some of those things.
There has to be a great balance, and I think
so far we really achieved that balance, and thankfully we're healthy.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Got to love the way your defense has been playing.
They really dominated last week and they created that early turnover.
Speaker 6 (07:36):
There's no doubt, I mean, got Lee, Adam Massey and
his staff are doing just a tremendous job.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Are and our again that our kids are buying in.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
Our seniors are buying into what you know, he's asking
of them, and you know, and they're seeing things like mentally,
we've gotten so much better. You think back on like
the Auburn game and giving the ball, giving those post
routes up. You know, we haven't done that lately, and
hopefully we don't tonight. Obviously we'll be challenged in that way,
you know, unlike any game other than Auburn this year.
But you know, again, our kids have done a great
job of buying in, practicing well. A proud of our
(08:04):
scouts and the job they're doing of giving a look.
Speaker 5 (08:07):
And I think our kids are just so.
Speaker 6 (08:08):
Prepared from all the meetings and walkthroughs and obviously the
practice time. You know, I think that they're embracing everything
we're asking of them, doing their own homework, you know,
spending time at home and film and learning and just
again a lot of.
Speaker 5 (08:20):
That has to do with their experience too.
Speaker 6 (08:22):
You know, we've got a lot of vets over there,
and those guys are playing like that right now.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Aren'ty getting loud? Here a Bulldog Stadium. Will take quick
break and we'll come back and we'll talk Central after
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker back here at Bulldog Stadiums like you're ready
for a big one tonight, Central Phoenix City rolls in
to take on our open like a Bulldog's glad you're
with us here as we visit with coach Bryan Moore
(08:47):
and coach the Central team, no stranger. They always have
a good run game. They got a great quarterback playing
the state championship game last year. They won a state
championship with him throwing the football, and they got some
guys that can catch it again this year.
Speaker 5 (08:58):
Very very balanced obviously.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
Coach Knicks does a tremendous job of getting them in
and out of good plays.
Speaker 7 (09:02):
You know, he does it.
Speaker 6 (09:03):
He keeps them in front of the chains and they
don't make mistakes. And you know it's crazy as much
as the Q throws it, you know, which is I
don't know, forty times a game.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
He throws it a lot. You know, they throw very
few interceptions. I mean, he takes care of the ball.
They catch it at a high level.
Speaker 6 (09:18):
You know, tons of RPOs, so the quarterbacks making decisions
on every play whether he runs or throws it, and
they just they're simple in what they do. They can
play fast. But the quarterback, I'm just so impressed with him.
And obviously there's no substitute for the experience in the
state championship game. I mean, to be a state champion
returner at quarterback says a lot about them. And really
(09:38):
that Auburn game could have gone either way. They still
could be the number one team in the state. I
think this is the most talented team we've played so far,
and again we'll have to be our best tonight to
get a win.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
They've got some good guys on defense, like they always do,
big upfront, really good in the middle, and they also
have some good edge rushers that can get to the
quarterback quickly.
Speaker 6 (09:57):
Oh, no doubt. They've got a junior that's coming in a
SEC player number nine. He's a really good player. Linebackers
run well, front people get after it. I mean, they're
great pass rushers. The DBS are very, very talented and athletic,
and they just do a great job with their scheme.
Speaker 5 (10:12):
They're not gonna beat themselves. They're not gonna let you
throw it over their head.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
They're gonna make you line up and snap it over
and over and keep things in front of them. Just
impressed with their defensive football team, the way they run
to it, and again how athletic they are.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
All right to win the game. Coach, you've got to
do this. If you said, you know, before tonight's game,
what do you got to do to win the game?
Speaker 5 (10:29):
I think there are two keys.
Speaker 6 (10:30):
I think we got to stay on the field offensively
and keep the ball away from them. So line up
and run it, run the clock, you know, get into
our four minute if we have a lead. But the
snap count has to matter. And then secondly, we've got
to make solo tackles. I mean, I think you're gonna
have a lot of tackles that are to be made
in space. In the past two years, Oplik has been
able to make those tackles from the second and third level.
We have to be able to do that if we win.
(10:51):
And so ultimately it's a snapcount thing. On offense, and
then defensively, we got to tackle better we have all year.
Speaker 2 (10:56):
Coach, good luck tonight is always appreciate the visit.
Speaker 5 (10:58):
Thanks Van, and go Dogs, I.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Said Coach Brian Moore. We'll be back as we continue
with our pregame show getting ready for Opelake in Central
right after this time out here on the Kicker M hmm,
(12:20):
national Athem inside Bulldogs Stadium, And let's jump now to
our keys to tonight's game.
Speaker 1 (12:29):
You are listening to Opelika High School Football here on
ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. And no, it's time
for Coach Spence Mccrackenskey's the game presented by Glenn Smiths,
Chevrolet GMC and OP I got and get ready to.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Smile, all right, Coach McCracken, you got a long list
tonight to knock off the Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (12:47):
No, I do not, Van, I've got just a few things.
Speaker 7 (12:50):
This game.
Speaker 9 (12:52):
Oh, this is gonna be a one heck of a
physical game. I feel like the winner this game is
gonna be the team that can run the ball consistently
on the other one and also.
Speaker 8 (13:06):
Big time, don't give up big plays.
Speaker 9 (13:11):
I think whoever makes the big plays in this game,
I think central of try to They're gonna throw it
more than we throw it, So there are opportunities to
get big plays are gonna probably for percentage wise more.
But we have to defend those and we have to
attack this quarterback.
Speaker 8 (13:29):
We have to pressure this quarterback man is. He is really.
Speaker 9 (13:33):
Good, and we can't let them get in any rhythm
or anything like that. We don't need any stupid penalties
on offense our defense, and I think it's very important
that we pressure a good quarterback this is This kid's
a really good quarterback. But we don't need to defend
(13:56):
against this kid. We need to pressure this kid because
of his is arm. Also, I think it's going to
be very important for us to get off the field.
Speaker 8 (14:07):
This team of theirs, they can strike at any time.
Speaker 9 (14:12):
We need to get them off the field and we
need to we need to play keep away from them tonight.
I think that's going to be that's going to be
very big. And then just on the side, thinking about
a couple other things. There's the thing I used to
read about self discipline, and I think this game is
(14:32):
going to come down to which team is disciplined enough
to beat the other team. And this is the way
that goes. Do the right thing. The right thing is
play football the way it's supposed to be played. Physical,
Do your job, don't do anybody else's job but yours.
Speaker 8 (14:52):
Do it on time. Don't be late coming.
Speaker 9 (14:56):
Off the ball, don't be late making a block or
making a tackle.
Speaker 8 (15:01):
Do it the best you can do it.
Speaker 9 (15:03):
And that's all the whole game, the whole forty eight minutes.
Speaker 8 (15:09):
We gotta be able to do that.
Speaker 9 (15:11):
And remember what I've told you all about five minutes,
the first five of the game, last five of the half,
first five of the third quarter, last five of the game.
Speaker 8 (15:22):
And then finally, do it that way all the time.
Speaker 9 (15:25):
You do the right thing, do it on time, do
it the best you can do it, and do it
that way all the time.
Speaker 8 (15:30):
If we do those things, I think we'll win the
football game.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
All right, Quick time out. We'll come back with your
coin toss on the way.
Speaker 8 (15:37):
Next.
Speaker 2 (15:37):

seven for the Red Devils wide receiver Davian Bennett and
also number ninety for the Red Devils Calvin southpollell And
(16:36):
we will head down once head referee Dana Barker gives
out the signals here between these two teams and a
big time matchup here at Bulldog Stadium.
Speaker 10 (16:47):
Thus, longtime Bulldog and community supporter Bruce Heath, in his
twenty eight and final season working the sideline chain crew,
let's give.
Speaker 8 (17:03):

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Captain go down. Honterary captains announced at midfield. Alright down night,

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Walk great program, hs AD, the super Seve tailor, don't

Speaker 2 (17:41):
It's called it, tilt it, don't don't put it again,
it's called it.
Speaker 8 (17:46):
It is what you want to do.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
The DAF all right, right, you want the ball, all right?
So Central wins the chills. They deferred to the second half,
so we'll see the Bulldogs on fence. Get the football
first here inside Bulldog Stadium. Kick off coming up all
the way now next as we continue with our countdown
to kickoff. Tonight pregame show presented to you by Frederick
Dean Funeral Home, and our kickoff is on the way
next right here on the kicker HI video being played
(18:18):
here inside Bulldog Stadium as we get ready for tonight's
matchup between Opelaika and Central Phoenix City. Eighty second meeting
between these two teams should be a good one. Tonight
Central comes in rank number two, the Bulldogs cracking the
top ten for the first time this season. Time down
for our game conditions and that's brought to you by
First Baptist Church opal like them, proud to support Opelika Schools.
(18:38):
If you can't make it a church. Listen the entire
worship service every Sunday at eleven am. Right here on
the kicker kickoff weather tonight, clear skies and right now
fifty nine are low tonight, dipping down in around forty
one tonight, but here around the ball game going to
be in the mid fifties for the most part, so
very cool weather tonight. Some of the long sleeve attire
(19:00):
finally out for the pulldog fans. Opelika comes out on
the field tonight in the black pants, red tops, white
numbers outlined in black, so red top black bottom combination.
Central will also be wearing black bottoms, white tops, red
numbers of outlined in black. Black helmets with a red
C on each side, So a lot of red and
black here the stands as we get ready for this one.
Mac McCracken, what did coach Moore have to say to
(19:22):
the boys in the locker room?
Speaker 8 (19:23):
All?
Speaker 11 (19:24):
He just told him Vann. He said, guys, I need
you to give me everything you got for four straight
quarters and just challenge them, give me all your guts,
everything you've got.
Speaker 8 (19:33):
I need you to just give it all. And he said, hey, guys,
it's time.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
For opal Iking to put this program back Shideline reports
tonight brought to you by four Seasons Federal Credit Union
and Caden Sparks has it teed up and he will
kick things off for Central and Opelaika will send back
Jamari Miller Jalen Washington back d Central will kick from
(19:59):
left to right. We're underway. They'll short kick it and
coming up Brody Jones will field it at the thirty
and Jones is hit right at the thirty one yard
line and brought down nicely on the play by the
Red Devils. And that was Max Johnson coming up and
making the hit on special team. So we'll see Opal
like his offense, get things first here. First and ten
for the Bulldogs again from their own thirty one yard
(20:20):
line will be the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 8 (20:22):
Now that's a good field position to start off with.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Van Well, you can see Central really respecting the speed
of Jamari and Jalen back there. First and ten, we're
underway here in Bulldog Stadium. Kobe Key, the quarterback gets
the snaphands it off here to Calvin Calvin a nice
hole here near side. Calvin tip to on the sidelines
across midfield and they're gonna mark him out. I believe
he stepped out at around the forty one yard line,
(20:47):
but still a good pick up close to ten yards.
It is eleven and a first down run there by
Calvin Hughgleck.
Speaker 9 (20:53):
That's good on that outside sweep to the left side.
Speaker 8 (20:57):
Great blocking up front.
Speaker 9 (20:59):
We got Trey Thomas, Kyle Eefferson, Jackson Lee, Darius Whitlow,
and David Miller.
Speaker 2 (21:04):
Actually going to be short of the first down. It
was a pickup of eight yards. It will be from
the forty yard line. It'll be short and Kobe Key's
going to be sacked. Big loss on the play back
inside the thirty five yard line down at around the
thirty four So try to go to the air there
and Central really got the pressure and now the dogs
are going to be set up here third and long
(21:24):
around a third and eight. Is that play lost six
yards back to the thirty four eight?
Speaker 9 (21:31):
Yeah, we didn't get We didn't have a lot of
time to throw that one. Van We got a little
more time than that. Kobe's got to get that ball
off down about three three and a half seconds too.
Speaker 2 (21:40):
Central with some good edge pass rusher is going to
be difficult. They'll go two wide here on this third
and lawn Jamori. He goes in motion from left to right.
Key gets the snap, rolls to his right and here
comes the pressure. Key steps up, throws one and it
is caught down the sidelines and a catch is rain
by Jalen Washington at the central forty nine yard line,
and that's going to be an eight teen yard pickup.
(22:01):
Jalen Washington just got a foot down and that'll move
the change right on the central sideline. Boy, a good
throwing catch for a first down. Bulldogs across midfield down
the central forty eight.
Speaker 9 (22:13):
Great great catch, good protection on that sprint out too.
Speaker 2 (22:17):
Two wides to the left side here for the Red
Devil or for the hope like the Bulldogs, Calvin play
action to him. They'll throw it out into Brody Jones
and he was hit and defended pretty well by Daylan
Upshaw and Brent broke that up here and nothing do it.
Speaker 9 (22:32):
We got Chris Johnson, Blake Johnson, Kobe Key, Calvin Hughley,
Brody Jones, and Jamar Miller in the backfield for the Dolls.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
So this will be second down in ten again. The
Bulldogs across midfield at the central forty eight yard line,
trips out wide to the left side, and the running
back in the game now looks like Jordan waits to
the left of Kobe and they'll play action pressure across
the middle. Jumped it off and Drew Gagliano in and
out of his hands right at the first down. Marker, boy,
we had to get rid of that one in a hurry.
(23:01):
A central really pinning their ears back here on the
Bulldogs here Rod Drew.
Speaker 9 (23:07):
Should I had that one, Ah, lady, bum you got
to catch those kind of balls now, big.
Speaker 2 (23:11):
Game like this, Yeah, quick throw ten fifty seven just underway.
Bulldogs open and drive if you're just joining us and
the Dog's facing another third down, another third and ten.
They converted a third and eight earlier on the big
sixteen yard pass. Here's a third and ten. Key drops
brack again, pressure coming setting up the screen to big
Blake Johnson. He's across the forty five. Johnson down the sidelines,
(23:34):
hurdles a man and he's close to the first down.
They're gonna mark him, and it looks like about an
inch or two short had around the thirty eight yard line,
but certainly four down territory here. If he didn't get
the first down. It is fourth and inches.
Speaker 8 (23:47):
Yeah, they're gonna go for this. I'm sure.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
What got nine yards? Fourth and inches? Huglely in the backfield.
It's an I four asia down Johnson the full back
and Calvin Hugly the tailback man front down there, Van, Yeah,
they're really loading it up. Kobe gets the snap, quick
handoff goes to Johnson. He's got the first down down
to the thirty five yard line. You know it's coming,
(24:12):
coaching and just can't stop it.
Speaker 9 (24:13):
Yes, sir, that's that belly playoff right tackling Blake Johnson.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Four yard, four yard pickup needed one got the first down.
Tenh nine scoreless game opening drive here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 9 (24:26):
In that double type flanker they got. They got them
all stacked close.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah, they do I formation here for the Bulldogs, and
the handoff goes to Calvin Hugly. Hugly is still moving
his legs and still staying up on his feet, and
Calvin's gonna get down to the thirty two yard line,
so that will be a three yard pickup for Deyonte.
Bud Wear comes in and makes the stomp for the
Red Devils. They gain two yards. Suck it.
Speaker 12 (24:54):
Down eight.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
We'll mark it at the thirty three, So just a
two yard hard pick up second and eight, nine thirty
one clock running here in the first quarter. This is
the ninth play for the Dogs. Jordan Waits checks in
the ball game. He'll be to the left of Colby
Key Blake Johnson moves over to the right side, white
out either side here for the Dogs. Hand off goes
to Waits, Waits trying to run right side cuts, goes
(25:18):
across the thirty down to the twenty nine yard line.
Brend and Core on the stop four yards though for
Jordan Waits, and it'll set up a third and very
manageable third and five coming up here for the Dogs.
Nine minutes left here in the first quarter, scoreless game
opening drive here for the Bulldogs, need to get this
first down. Van and I think this could be four
(25:40):
down territory too. We got Mayor Gary Fuller listening all
the way across over in over across overseas. Right now,
here's a quick inside hand off to Johnson. Johnson dup
the twenty five. Johnson still on his feet inside the
twenty and he's down close to the fifteen. They're walking
down to this sixteen yard line. That is a thirteen
(26:03):
yard pickup and another first down for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 8 (26:08):
That's three first down. Doing a good job running the ball.
Speaker 9 (26:11):
They're staying in a five man front, a fifty two defense.
Uh Andy, they're actually playing man coverage in the secondary.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
First down in ten, eight twenty to go here in
the first quarter, here's a handoff to Waits, and Waits
stood up there at the line of scrimmage trying to
go lift. He's gonna pick up a yard down to
the fifteen yard line. Eight oh seven clock running here
the first quarter, scoreless game, twelfth.
Speaker 8 (26:39):
Play yard second down night, that's a twelfth play for
the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (26:42):
Yeah, Mayor Gary Fuller, and uh we've got Economic Development
Director John Sweatman and Ward three Councilman Tim ag and
Steve Chapman all overseas in Tokyo, Japan listening to US
coach mccrackey.
Speaker 8 (26:55):
Right, they got man coverage on us. They wanted had that.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Runaway second down to nine high snap inside run by Huglely.
Hugly is inside the ten and Hughughly down to the
eight yard line. It'll be third and short coming up
for the Bulldogs. Seven yard pickup and Brennan Core the
middle linebacker comes in and makes the stops twenty three
and o'clock running here in the first quarter.
Speaker 9 (27:19):
Yeah, we we got a high snap from our center.
Kobe did a good job bringing it down and getting
it into Calvin.
Speaker 8 (27:26):
They're going back. Hey, here comes Blake.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
A third and one I formation again for the Bulldogs.
Calvin Hugly again dots the I formation, and they'll give
it to the hammer Johnson. And Johnson stood up there
at the line of scrimmage, and I don't think he
got it. And I think it's gonna be very clever.
Gonna be fourth and short coming up here, and Calvin
(27:51):
Hugly is giving the Hammers signal. I think he wants
to give it to him again. Fourth and one. Johnson
not in the game. Now, it's gonna be an I
formation with Waits and Hugley. So Wakes will line up
as the full back here fourth and one for the Bulldogs.
Down at the aid of central hard count by Key.
(28:12):
He'll check the sign lines. Boy almost could do a
quarterback sneak, couldn't you, Coach. We'll see no quick handoff
is to Jordan Wakes. He'll get the first down he's
inside the five. They try to strip the ball away
and he did a nice job hanging on to it.
First and Gold Bulldogs coming up at the three of central,
great block. There's a flag on the play. Oh goodness, well,
(28:33):
might that may be a face mask. We'll wait and see.
We've got the head referee miked up tonight, so.
Speaker 9 (28:38):
It came late. So I think it's a face mask.
Darius Whitlow, I'm talking great, It's.
Speaker 8 (28:50):
All right.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
First down were stand Jackson, Lee.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
Davis Witlow and David Miller. Great blocking.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Blake Johnson back in the game. Calvin Hughley is the tailbag.
First and Gold Bulldogs six twenty four. Heck of a
drive here for the Bulldogs. And again I formation first
and goal from the one, quick hand off to Jackson
in the end zone.
Speaker 8 (29:12):
Touchdown Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Heck of us start here for the Bulldogs against the
number two Central Phoenix City Red Devils. Opelika's open and dry.
They march it right down the field, converting two big
third downs along the way, and with six fifteen left
in the opening corner, Opalaika six Central nothing and here
comes the point after a tempt from boy Rees Beasley.
Speaker 8 (29:33):
That's a seventy yard drive.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
Van.
Speaker 8 (29:36):
Oh, that's beautiful.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
Mayor good starting to your Sunday morning over there with
the crew in Japan. Amen, man, there is a flag.
I think movement maybe on opelaikah here, I don't know.
Speaker 8 (29:48):
I didn't see anybody.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Thinks somebody got a little jump there. We'll see, well,
sort off five yard hellity, every trunk, come on now,
that'll move the dog dogs back just a bed. Of course,
Reese has been really good on extra points, but hey,
we know how points are very, very precious in a
game like this. It's a little bit longer extra point
(30:11):
snapped down and the extra point kick is not good
scoring drive power by our friends and open like a
Power Services hometown, people working for you online at open
like a power dot Com. Seven other dogs on top,
six fifteen left in the opening quarter. We'll see what
this high powered central lifefits could do. We come back
here on the kicker Holden and drive for the Bulldogs.
(30:36):
A good one started at the thirty one yard line,
so the Dogs marched it right down the field, six
point fifteen remaining here. In the first quarters of the
Dogs chewed up just about half the clock in that quarter,
coach McCracken, and they marched it down the field. A
heck of a drive there.
Speaker 9 (30:52):
Beautiful basily and hello, we don't want to kick it
to those back three back then.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
I think he's gonna try to do what he did
last week. Sir Reyes Beasley has it teed up. He'll
kick it deep left side and it hits at the ten,
picked up at the nine yard line, it will be
returnable by the Red Devils and come down at the
fifteen yard line. A nice tackle there by the Bulldogs.
And I believe that was a number twenty six. Xavier Thomas. Yeah,
(31:21):
play Xavier Thomas comes in there. You know, Xavier was
the one that had the real big hit at the
end of the game against Enterprise. I really thought was clean.
They gave a flag on it, but coach he the
players on the team say Xavier is one of the
hardest hitting guys on the team. Great, all right, let's
let's go d So Central from their own fifteen yard line.
Their quarterback won a state championship last year. Andrew Alford
(31:43):
now in his second season with Central, and there's going
to be a flag on the play before a snap,
and I think it's against Opalaika here. So I'm not
sure what happened before the play got started, but.
Speaker 8 (31:57):
That's against US.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
I don't know if somebody line up off sides are
what head referee?
Speaker 8 (32:04):
They were in two by two and they shifted it
going against the defense. Five yard penalty first out.
Speaker 2 (32:12):
All right, so off sides against Opalaika right out of
the gate there before we get a snap. So it's
going to be from the twenty now, first and five
for the Red Devils. Tristan Williams is the tailback five nine,
one hundred and eighty pounds senior. He's been doing it
pretty much solo. But they'll go with a two back
look here the Red Devils will and another hard count.
They'll shift those wide receivers two to the left end,
(32:34):
a single receiver to the right side, and central one
thing they want to do, they'll go to the air.
They like to go to the air. A lot offered.
Gets the snap and play action, they'll throw down fade
pass down the sidelines and it's incomplete. That was intended
for Michael bass A six ' four sophomore court Ingraman
covered their second down in five coming up for the
Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (32:54):
That's good job. Mary Smiley got his hand up to I.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Think I would look for maybe a run by mister Williams. Here,
we'll see they do a lot of RPOs. So single
receiver to the left, to to the right side, and
again Williams is the tail back to the right of
Andrew Alford, the senior quarterback.
Speaker 8 (33:14):
Four man rush offered.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Weights on the stamp, gets it, hands the ball to
Williams left side. He's got the first down. He breaks
it across the secondary and he is up close to
the thirty eight yard line. A big first down run
there by Andrew offered Tyrese Pitts finally gets there, but
they'll give him the thirty nine yard line. That is
a nineteen yard run and a first down for the
Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (33:37):
Yeah, we didn't do good on defense.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
End.
Speaker 8 (33:40):
We're staying in that. We got a we got a
actually we.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
Got a three man front, five forty six o clock
running here in the first quarter, opal like a leading seven.
Nothing but Central's first possession. Five wide receivers and a
hand off to Williams and against stutter steps in the backfield,
and a nice job by Carson Moss coming in and
making the stop in a happy bird birthday to Carson
who turns eighteen today. So hey, it was good for
(34:04):
ty Reese on his birthday. So Carson gets a good
stop there, and maybe he can get a pick six
on his birthday. That would be nice.
Speaker 8 (34:11):
Three yard game, two yard, that's almost three.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Yeah, up to the forty two. A three yard pickup.
That'll be second down in seven here for the Red Devils,
five thirteen remaining here in our first quarter, Bean Riggs
longside coach Spence McCracken mc McCracken roaming our sidelines. Three
wide right, single receiver, left play action offer wants to
take a deep shot down field, white out. It's got
a step and the overshot him by about four yards.
(34:38):
That was intended for Daylon Upshaw. Devin Dixon in coverage.
Good coverage right there. We got some pressure on him.
Van Upshaw is heading to Miami, a three star prospect,
and we saw him play defense. He'll play offense just
about every snap last week he played. They'll bring him
in and out a little bit on offense. He's been
playing majority of defense. They've had some guys banged up
over there in the secondary for central, but he will
(35:01):
come in and they'll they'll give him a shot every
now and then again. Three wide right, single receiver left,
Third down and seven here for the red dice, big play,
third down conversion. Let's stop them Central from there on
to forty two. Offered gets the snap, pressure, comes, drops back, throws,
it's across the middle, caught first down inside the forty
and tackle down at the thirty two yard line. Davian
Bennett got opened and did a nice job finding him,
(35:24):
did Andrew Offer and court Ingram comes in and makes
the stop. But good throw, good catch and a first
down Central down to the thirty of Oplaika. That's a
twenty eight yard pickup.
Speaker 8 (35:35):
See that's a big play too. We can't can't have that.
Speaker 2 (35:38):
Yeah, Third and seven two, got to.
Speaker 8 (35:40):
Get better pressure, got to get better pressure.
Speaker 2 (35:44):
Actually, they'll mark it down to the thirty one yard line.
But first and ten Central, two wide left, single receiver
to the right side. Offered out of the shot gun,
gets the snap play action. Wanted to go right now,
rolls to his right. Took a shot through one deep
into the end zone, and it is tip batted down
nearly intercepted. Good coverage there by Devin Dixon.
Speaker 8 (36:06):
Great job and.
Speaker 2 (36:07):
Devon nearly came up with the interception as they tried
to hook up with Colin freebirgok it down in the
end zone. Second down and ten coming up for Central.
Speaker 9 (36:17):
TJ Thomas, Lightfoot, Autree and Smiley up front for the Dogs,
Hudson Moore at the backers, Devin Dixon and court Ingram
at the corners, Carson Mars, Tyres Pitts and Kevan King
at the safeties.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
Ope like a leading seven nothing Central's first drive of
the game and it's second and ten at the Opalaika
thirty one. We've got to pressure this quarterback van for
twenty one. Dogs show they may be bringing some pressure.
Linebackers back off now to be a run play to
Williams and Williams is tackled for a short pickup up
to around the twenty seven yard line. Still be close
(36:53):
to four yards on the pickup. Ty Hudson, the linebacker
comes up, makes the stop. It'll be third and six.
It looks like come up here for Central as we
wind under four minutes to go here in the first quarter.
Speaker 9 (37:07):
Huge play right here. We didn't hold him last time
on third down conversion.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Central. One thing I heard coach Nick say earlier this week,
he's not really comfortable kicking a field goal unless he
gets around the fifteen yard line, so it could be
four down territory here for the Red Devils. This is
their second third down conversion. Third down and six coming
up here for Central at the Opalaka twenty seven. Handoff
goes to Wigghams left side and Malik Autry's there to
(37:33):
bring him down for a bout a one yard pickup.
Good play there by all Tree. And it's fourth down
and five coming up for the Red Devils, and I
think the offense is staying put. I do too, down
to the twenty six. But there's not like a player down.
Yeah that is uh Tyler Moore down on the play,
and more does get up rather quickly and Trot's off
(37:57):
the field. We'll take a quick time out seven nothing Bulldogs.
You're listening to like a football here on the kicker, Well,
cichra'l gonna go for it here on fourth down five
from the twenty six, Offerd drops back, pressure comes, he
rolls to the right. There's a flag down. Gonna be
a hole. This one's gonna come back. As Andrew Alford
(38:17):
scrambled for the first down, by a holding flag. Somebody
got in Malik Autree and tugged onto him. So this
will come back and I'll see if coach next to
signs to go for it. After this holding flag, we'll
get the official call.
Speaker 13 (38:32):
Good.
Speaker 8 (38:33):
The run holding off.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
All right, ten yards from the previous spots, so that
will make this.
Speaker 8 (38:41):
A Oh no, they're not gonna kick. I think. I
think they'll just go for this first down.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Yeah, I'll make it fourth and fifteen here.
Speaker 8 (38:51):
Man, we cannot lose contain on this quarterback. Dad come in.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
Indeed, so the thirty five yard line is where they
market that, so it'll be fourth down. In more like
fourth and fourteen. They need to market back another yard.
Speaker 8 (39:04):
Yeah, I thought, yeah, that's right, that's right.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Well, dog vans on their feet.
Speaker 8 (39:11):
Come on. Pressure.
Speaker 2 (39:12):
The quarterback offered out of the shotgun. He's got trips right,
single receiver left, offered again, rolls here to the right side,
throws back across the middle and it is caught but short, No, incomplete.
He dropped it. He was gonna have the spot in
the gain I think right at the first down marker,
but it was stripped away. Good defense by Tyrese Pitts.
Great as he stripped that one away and it's a
(39:34):
turnover on downs with two forty nine left in the
first quarter, up alike a leading seven nothing.
Speaker 9 (39:38):
We're very fortunate because the quarterback got outside contained again,
he could have run that ball.
Speaker 2 (39:45):
Boy. Coach Moore is letting some of the secondary have it. Yeah,
well he is over in the years some of those
guys coming off the field. But the Bulldogs offense back down.
They'll have it from their own thirty five yard line.
Leading the Red Devil seven nothing with two forty nine
left in the first quarter. So here's Colby Key out
of the shotgun and Key a quick hand off. This
is Tommy Johnson. Johnson with a good run and Johnson
(40:07):
up ended at the forty yard line and stayed on
the foot mianke. He lost the football for a moment,
but got back on it and he carries it up
to the thirty up to the thirty nine yard line,
so a four yard pickup. So this will set up
a second down and six.
Speaker 8 (40:23):
Offense take it down like it. That's our little sweep
around the left side.
Speaker 2 (40:30):
To forty one left in the first quarter. Again open
like a leading seven nothing. Back with the football after
a turnover on downs by Central on their first possession
of the game, two thirty seven o'clock. Running here in
the first quarter, Calvin Hugley back in the game, to
the left of Colby Key. Key drops back, wants to
(40:50):
throw rolls to the right, looks downfield, and dumps it
off back across the middle. Dangerous pass, but Jamari Miller's
got it tomorrow inside the thirty five Jamorroy cuts it
back ten five touchdown Bulldogs Poyd. Jamari Miller caught it,
turned around and hit the sidelines for the touchdown sixty
(41:11):
one yards to the house with two point fifteen left.
What a highlight reel. Jamari Hiller is, Oh God. As
we watched the replay, Miller caught it in the middle
of the field, turn and he headed towards the sidelines
and nobody was catching number three. Miller may have been
a big baby, but he's a fast number three. Here's
(41:32):
Reese Beasley for the extra point sixty one yards coachy
one yards. Unbelievable. There you go, Reas Beasley for the
extra points snap down, kick up, good Bulldogs on top
of Central fourteen nothing with two point fifteen left here
on our opening quarter and that story Driving Power by
Opelika Power Services hometown people working for you online at
(41:55):
opelikapower dot com. Back after this time out here on
the Kicker fourteen, nothing opal like eleading central and let's
head down for a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report. Mac,
what a throw by Kobe to find Miller and then
(42:15):
what a great run?
Speaker 8 (42:16):
Yeah, sure was.
Speaker 11 (42:17):
I was just gonna tell you know, Coach Fleming offensive
line coach was fired up after we scored that offensive touchdown.
Then you know, Coach Massi right there has got them
down here all celebrating the defense for the stop right there.
Great job by kobd to hit fast right there, and
then you know nothing, nothing can beat speed.
Speaker 2 (42:33):
That's right. Mac is excited too. I can tell them
the sidelines, a good kick goes over the head of
the return man into the end zone and that will
be a touchback.
Speaker 14 (42:42):
He's going crazy, have it rated. They're the good kick
by Reese out of boy Ree. I don't wait to
knock it down there, buddy. Good job, all right. Now,
let's go defense. I want to give them. We give
them too much.
Speaker 9 (42:55):
Last time they they break contain against us, and they
had three first two first downs. So let's see if
we can get us a stop back at in this
twenty yard line area.
Speaker 2 (43:07):
Ten nothing Auburn High School leading Carver down in Montgomery, and.
Speaker 8 (43:12):
We got back to our four to two defense.
Speaker 2 (43:14):
Now first and ten here for the Red Devils from
their own twenty yard line is hope like a leading
central here. Fourteen nothing two fifteen left here in our
first quarter. Two wides to the right side. It'll be
a handoff though to Williams and Williams he's a stop
for a short pickup. He gets up close to the
twenty four yard line, so four yards there by Tristan Williams.
Speaker 8 (43:35):
God didn't look like he made four.
Speaker 2 (43:38):
Josh Davis comes up with a stop for the Bulldogs.
Got some of the twos in there on the defensive line.
They've been good though this season.
Speaker 9 (43:46):
Now Josh Davis, Brendon Stinson, Money Thomas, and Brandon Dinson
are twos getting a little work in there all right.
Speaker 2 (43:54):
One forty four left here in the first quarter. Second
and six here for the Red Devils. Andrew Afford gets
the snap play action, throws here to the near side
and hint and dropped down by mister Devin Dixon as
he comes up and knock down Brandon Brown right when
he caught it for no gain on the play, Ohoyd,
Devon Dixon was coming in there like a bullet. That
(44:16):
was a great tackle. He lost a yard back to
the twenty three too, and it's gonna be third and side.
Speaker 9 (44:21):
Big play now, big play, don't lose contain.
Speaker 8 (44:25):
They're gonna throw the ball.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
So Central facing a third and seven, two whiteouts either side.
Speaker 8 (44:31):
Ranks the pressure this time looks like they're bringing.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
Five ye Emilie Country and Company back in there. Third
and seven, Offer drops back, slips a tackle.
Speaker 15 (44:40):
No, he's going down back at the thirteen yard line.
Speaker 2 (44:43):
Sacked on the play by Tyrese Pits. Offer down back
at the fifteen A boy coach Massey, coach Prescott, coach Howell.
Great job. Fourth and fifteen for the Red Devils with
forty three seconds left, and here comes the punt team.
Out boy. The Dogs are having a heck of a
style again. Here tonight we rure six guys that time.
(45:05):
Man I loved it. Colin Freiberg, the punter, will stand
at the goal line to catch this snap from the
deep snapper, and Jamari Miller is sitting really good at
the central forty five to await this punt here. And
what a heck of a fourth first quarter here for
the Bulldogs. See if Jamari can get a good return here.
I know they don't want to give them an opportunity.
(45:26):
And they moved, did they move?
Speaker 11 (45:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Central has moved.
Speaker 8 (45:29):
That's good.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
I delay a game actually against Central, So that's going
to back them up five yards. And you know that
Central sideline getting really uneasy right now with the way
the start of this game has gone and their fans too.
So now Jamari is going to try it in around
the thirty five yard line as the punter is about
five yards deep in his end zone. Low snap, he
(45:52):
did get it away. Hey, they're gonna let it hit
down at the thirty five yard line. It takes a
roll to around the thirty six. The Dogs are going
to be set up in shop here at the thirty
seven yard line of Central, moving from right to level
with just three seconds left here in the first quarter,
and again opal like a leading fourteen nothing. Dogs have
scored on both offensive possessions and it was a highlight
(46:17):
reel by mister Jamari Miller the last time out. We'll
see where the Dogs go here as the tailback to
trot out the start will be Jordan Waits to the
right of Kolby Key. With just one more play here
before we wrap up this outstanding first quarter for the Bulldogs.
At the thirty seven of Central, first and ten, Key
gets the snap option play quarterback keeper and he'll take
(46:39):
it and carry it down to the thirty five yard
line for three yards and that will be the end
of the first quarter. Dogs will take a fourteen nothing
lead into quarter number two here at Bulldog Stadium. You're
listed to Opelika Football here on the kicker we start
(47:00):
the second quarter of play. It's been a good start
to Senior night here inside Bulldog Stadium, o Plaka leading
fourteen nothing over Central. And to start the second quarter
of the Bulldog's with the football at the thirty five
yard line of Central and it will be Kolby Kee
getting the stamp and it's going to be a reverse
place here to Jamari Miller trying to find the sideline
and Jamari read pretty good there by the defense of Central.
(47:24):
They'll string that out for no gain. Michael Richmond on
the stop there for the Red Devils. This will set
up a third and seven out of the thirty four.
Jamari was able to pick up one yard and ran
that to the short side of the field. Not much
room for Jamari to work with there. Third and seven
four opelaika or wide out either side and key out
(47:46):
of the shotgun here on this third down, the Dogs
have converted and they're gonna get a fly that's going
to be off sides against central, So that's gonna be huge.
This'll make this third and seven a third and two.
Oh boy, that's a big Ya's a big one. Now
you can give it to the Hammer or you can
give it to Jordan Waits.
Speaker 9 (48:02):
This is four down situation right here. I guarantee you boy.
Speaker 2 (48:05):
Did you see Tristan Lyles just do push ups jumping
off sides? He sure did. He jumped down coach and
got his push ups here.
Speaker 8 (48:13):
That's the big boy.
Speaker 2 (48:14):
Yes, he's a good edge rusher too, so ought to
be third down and two here for the Bulldogs. Now
down at the thirty yard line, handoff goes to Tommy Johnson.
Johnson running left side. He picked up a yard, but
he's still gonna be a yard shy of the first down.
It's gonna set up a fourth and one down at
the down at the twenty eight yard line, needs the
(48:37):
twenty seven for the first down.
Speaker 8 (48:39):
Are they gonna get that two tight end set?
Speaker 2 (48:41):
Oh yeah, here comes the Fisher boy one.
Speaker 8 (48:43):
There's your boy, Blake.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
See if they give it to the Hammer, as he's
been nicknamed, fourth down and short, Key will check the sidelines. Boy,
you know they're expecting it for sure. They got everybody
up on that line of scrimmage here on fourth and one,
and the handoff goes to Blake, and Blake spins and
turns and he's got the first down and he carries
the pile down to the twenty five yard line. Boy,
you know that is just demoralizing when you know somebody
(49:06):
is getting the football and you just can't stop it.
Speaker 8 (49:09):
It is my kind of football right here, man, Just
keep it up. Boys.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
Johnson got into the twenty four. He got almost five yards,
five first downs, and it's a first down Bulldogs at
the central twenty four yard line. Dogs leading fourteen nothing
and on the move. They got a four man front
this time ten twenty two left here in our first half.
Tommy Johnson remains the tailback for the Bulldogs to the
right of Kolby. Keith snapped down and the handoff goes
(49:36):
to Johnson, and Johnson gonna be wrapped up in the backfield,
tackled at the twenty five yard line. He's gonna lose
a yard and this will set up second down and eleven.
Mister Hugley checks back in the ball gamebody.
Speaker 8 (49:48):
On that one. That's a sweep around the left side.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Nine fifty seven o'clock running here in the second quarter,
Dog's gonna line up with two wide receivers to the
right side. A little confusion there by the wide outs
getting set here, two wides to the right and Calvin
Hugley the tail back to the left. Here second and eleven,
and Colby wants to pass drops back Right's got pressure
(50:12):
coming and now Kolby's gonna tuck it to run it
and slide out of sounds at around the twenty yard line,
and a good pick up there. I gotta get him
down to the twenty four yard line. It looks like
it's well, they'll mark him down. That was a six
yard scramble there by Colby. So this will set up
around a third and five coming up here for the Bulldogs.
All right, dogs will need the fourteen for the first
(50:34):
down hopeful like a leading fourteen nothing over central and
on the move here, needing to convert another third down.
Third and five coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 8 (50:43):
Boy, this is a big third down conversion here.
Speaker 2 (50:45):
Now, yeah, just get some positive yards because you want
to give recent least a shot of the field goal
here if you don't convert. Key drops back throws across
the middle by Jamari. Jamari's right on the sidelines inside
the fifteen and Jamari is gonna be a yard shy
of the first down. But there is a flag on
the play at the fifteen yard line, and this could
(51:07):
be in the direction here, may be a hold on
the outside. We'll see to run block in the back
on the opalakaay down, so it'll be or replay the
down here. So it was a tough penalty against the
Bulldogs there, block in the back, So nine twenty four,
this will make this a.
Speaker 8 (51:32):
No, it's not that far back there you go. It's
starting to eleven.
Speaker 2 (51:38):
Yeah, that'll walk it back to the twenty five yard line,
so it'll be third and eleven after the penalty nine
twenty three, and the clock starts back running here in
the second quarter, the Dogs are two wides to the
left side, Calvin Hughley again, the tailback Jamari Miller lined
up to the right. Well, I tell you there's nobody
(51:59):
back d if Jamar can blow past this guy and
you do a little fade pass to them. Here, we'll
see what Coach more dials up. Key hands the ball
to Hugly run play inside the twenty and Hugley just
tripped up at around the sixteen yard line, around the
eighteen yard line, so that's gonna set up a fourth
and short end. Coach Moore wastes no time. He wants
to get some points here and he brings in Beasley.
Speaker 8 (52:22):
I agree, play.
Speaker 2 (52:23):
Eight yards down three. This will be a thirty five
yard field goal attempt from right in the middle of
the field. And there's been a bit of a breeze,
but not at the moment really at all. So right
in the middle of the field, trying to add on
three points here against the Red Devils with the Bulldogs
leading fourteen nothing, and the Dogs shift and they're Sixel
(52:48):
jumped boy five yards and that's going to be a
first down. Boy, what a call by coach Bryant Moore
and the offense back on the field with a first down. Boy,
that is what'll winn you ball game.
Speaker 8 (53:00):
He was, boy.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
A big shift by the field goal team and Reese
Beasley with a little underhand high five as it comes
off the field. Nice job there, Reese.
Speaker 8 (53:11):
All right, let's go Hugh, Glee and Blake here and.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
That sets the Bulldogs up first in ten and the
line of scrimmage down to the thirteen yard line. It
looks like high formation hand offs to Calvin. Calvin goes right,
steps back, inside spin, moves in the hole, and just
not much there. That was well defended by the central defense.
Brennan cor the linebacker comes in and makes the stop.
Speaker 8 (53:35):
He got a yard?
Speaker 2 (53:36):
Didn't he two yards?
Speaker 8 (53:38):
I sat?
Speaker 2 (53:39):
I think, yeah, it gained two yards. Line of scrimmage
is the eleven. I think, come on, we gotta get it.
We need a touchdown right here and there. We don't
need a field gold. Come on down at the eleven.
It'll be I think it's gonna second down in nine.
They only said he picked up one yard after they
set that one. Jordan Waits will be the tailback here,
(53:59):
and they Blake Johnson is the full back. They'll take
it to Johnson Colby Key quarterback keeper Colby down inside
the ten down to around the nine yard line, close
to three yards seven twenty one remaining here in this
second quarter. The clock continues to run opa lo like
at a leading fourteen nothing over Central and there'll be another
(54:19):
third down coming up here for the Bulldogs. Third and
seven inside the ten down at the nine of Central.
Big play Van, Yes, sir boy, a touchdown will be
big right here.
Speaker 9 (54:32):
Epperson, Thomas, Lee, Whitlow and Miller up front.
Speaker 2 (54:35):
Tommy Johnson the loan back here for Colby, Keell White
out either side. Johnson now moves to the left of Key,
Jamari goes in motion. They'll fake it to Jamari and
looking towards the undershot as an intended target was Johnson
out of the backfield, boy, he had Blake Johnson wide
opening the end, so just didn't see him. It is
fourth down, but hey, pressure was coming on mister Key
(54:58):
right there and had to get rid of that one
in a hurry. So field goal attempt it will be
after all. So good job there by the Central defense
after giving up the first down trying to hold the
Bulldogs to three here, I.
Speaker 8 (55:16):
Bet you they don't jump off side this time.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
I wouldn't think. So here's the snap down and the
kickup and the kick is good. Twenty five yard field
goal is up and good for Reese Beasley and the
score and drive. Power by our friends at open like
a power services hometown, people working for you online at
oplelikapower dot com. Bulldogs seventeen Central Nothing six point forty
(55:41):
left here in our first quarter, our second quarter of play,
and we're back after this time out here on the kicker,
I'll back inside Bulldogs Stadium, seventeen Nothing Opal like Elite Central,
Phoenix City. Hey, shout out mister Anthony Edwards, listing old
(56:03):
neighbor there coach over at Lochapoka for many years. Anthony,
hope you're doing well, my friend.
Speaker 9 (56:09):
Give a shout out to Shell two over at does
Zip be Marred across the way across the street. She
loves feeding all these Bulldogs.
Speaker 2 (56:19):
Six forty left in our first half, and it's been
a heck of a start. Seventeen as a very similar
start hopefully like I had last week against Enterprise. We're
hoping for the same result here. Rye Beasley has it
teed up neither, but it's another good leg into this
one in over in kickfield and at the four yard line.
It will be returnable here for the Red Devils cut
down in final job Good dropped down and knocked out
(56:41):
of bounds at around the twenty yard line.
Speaker 8 (56:43):
Good good, that's good. Crowdverage excellent.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
Yeah, very good pursuit. That was Davi and Bennett on
the return. He was tackled by Caden Harris.
Speaker 9 (56:52):
One at the fifteen and one at the twenty. That's great.
Speaker 2 (56:57):
I d say forward progress was the twenty four yard line,
so that's where the Red Devils will start.
Speaker 8 (57:02):
No big plays Van, no big plays.
Speaker 2 (57:06):
Central from their on twenty four yard line. Dailing Upshaw,
the big Star wide receiver, lined up left Devin Dixon
in coverage. Their two wide outs to the right side
of the field.
Speaker 8 (57:17):
Three man front for the Dogs.
Speaker 2 (57:20):
Tail back is Tristan Williams. They'll give it to Williams
in the backfield and nowhere for Williams to go. He
has swallowed up. Actually that is Donovan Crowe in the backfield,
and Amory Smiley was there to greet mister Crowe. So
Donovan Crowe is a junior tailback. Gave Williams a bit
of a breather there, but he was brought down for
no game second down in ten. Mari Smiley there to
(57:45):
greet him.
Speaker 8 (57:46):
Great job.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
Great job to Kaiightfoot. Also work in that line you got.
Speaker 9 (57:51):
They're in the three man front. They got the fourth man.
It's coming some of the time.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
That's Carson Moss, who's kind of creepy. Play out of
defensive end position. Second out and ten here for the
Red Devil's three wide left. They'll send a man in motion.
They'll throw it to the motion man out of the backfield.
It's the tailback getting the sidelines. He's got the first
down and he's up to the forty yard line. That
was Tristan Williams catching it out of the backfield as
they sent him in motion, and he gets sixteen yards
(58:18):
and they first down for the Red Devils. Devin Dixon.
That's finely brings him down. That's the first.
Speaker 9 (58:23):
Time that they've gotten a pass out to a wide
receiver and made any kind of yards.
Speaker 2 (58:29):
Five point thirty two clock continuing to run here in
this second quarter.
Speaker 8 (58:33):
That's a big play too, Hopell.
Speaker 2 (58:34):
Like a leading seventeen nothing so far shutting out the
Red Devils. But another first down here by the Red
Devils first and ten from their own forty yard line. Offered,
gets the snap, throws out to the flats. It's turning
up field at the forty five, hitting the sidelines, across midfield,
and finally brought down out of bounds at around the
forty yard line. May be a face mask on top
of it. At the thirty nine yard line, Kiev and
(58:56):
King safety comes in and makes the stop, and I
think may have gotten a face mask there on the
end of that one. I think that was the signal,
and I believe that will be the call. As side
judge Over gives the old face mask indicator personal foul.
Speaker 8 (59:13):
Face mass, he gets a defense tell it fifteen.
Speaker 5 (59:15):
Yards down the run.
Speaker 2 (59:16):
That's a tough one to fifteen yarder tanked on at
the end of the run. So five eight and Central
knock it on the door now as the football will
be down at the twenty four yard line of Opelaika.
Speaker 10 (59:28):
First down Central from the dog twenty.
Speaker 5 (59:30):
Four yard line.
Speaker 2 (59:32):
Well, we need one of those interceptions here.
Speaker 8 (59:35):
That's about a forty yard play, wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
It was a big one. I tell you Alford had
protected the football pretty well. He didn't have two interceptions
last week against Carver, and then one of the reasons
was the pressure they put on him. Two whiteouts either
side first and ten Offered flushed out of the pocket.
Looks like Malik got held no flag, but it is
incomplete as he throws it out of bound's far side.
Try to get it to his tailback Tristan Williams second
down in ten at the twenty four Tyler horn I
(01:00:03):
was talking to our good friend Fox Fleming from Enterprise
earlier today. He said, now, look, he said, some of
your defensive lineman the may have to put their jerseys
back on set. This guy's up front for Central, like
and you like to hold a little bit.
Speaker 9 (01:00:12):
So yeah, yeah, Well we're sticking with the three man
playing aid and coverage and they haven't run it yet.
Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
At it second down ten five oh three left in
the first half, Opal like a leading seventeen nothing second
down in ten at the twenty four of Opelaika for
Central Offered, gets the stamp, hands to the tailback hint
of the line of scrimmage. Nowhere to go. He picked
up a yard and that is it. Right there in
the hole was Carson Moss a flag right at the
(01:00:41):
line of scrimmage. Boy, another face mask. It looks like
coming against Opelika. Really an incidental one of the run
replaced second five yards and a free play coming up here,
go boy, that's a tough one. Down to the eighteen
now of Opalao. Second down and four now forth central
(01:01:04):
four point fifty five left here in the first half,
Tristan Williams stays in the ball game as the tailback.
Two wides to the left side and a single receiver
right here for the Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (01:01:17):
Got the three man front again.
Speaker 2 (01:01:19):
Andrew Afford out of the shotgun play action Pump fakes
wants to throw steps up. Smiley pressured, He steps up
and gets away from him and now races out of bounds.
No gain on the play, Smile.
Speaker 8 (01:01:30):
Yeah, he might have lost the yard.
Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
Yeah, Smiley was in pursuit there. Alan Jackson forced him
out of bounds.
Speaker 8 (01:01:36):
Yeah he lost two yards.
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
Shifty guy to get away from Amary Smiley. I think
he did lose MC he lost two yards at least.
Third down, third and six coming up here for the
Red Devils. Four thirty two o clock stopped his offered
ran out of bounds.
Speaker 8 (01:01:51):
Now the one of three on third down, all right,
he's gonna throw it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Well, you can venture bottom dollar they are going up
for it on fourth down that too, trips left, come on,
two wide to the right, five wide look offer drops
back steps up, throws across the middle. It has caught
at the six yard line. Dailan upshaw on the reception
and Keevy and King comes in there to make the stop.
It'll be first in goal Central as they mark him
(01:02:17):
down actually at the eight yard line. That's a pickup
of twelve yards and a first down for the Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (01:02:24):
That's four big plays they've made in this on this drive.
Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Four point fifteen. The clock continues to run. Central did
defer to start the game, so they will get the
football to start the second half. Two wide left, single
receiver right side offered now wants to take off and
run this slides down.
Speaker 7 (01:02:46):
He lost a.
Speaker 2 (01:02:49):
Very frustrated did not have what he wanted. But he's
gonna lose two yards back to the tent on that slide.
Good defense Mayne Thomas pressure to get him down.
Speaker 8 (01:02:59):
Yeah, we got that. Three man fronts getting some pressure
on him.
Speaker 2 (01:03:03):
Now. Second down in ten coming up here for Central.
Three point thirty nine. Remaining here in the first half.
Speaker 9 (01:03:10):
Come on, Dave, we're running the three to two and
we're playing everybody else.
Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Man coverage westop here would be big for this Bulldog defense.
Maybe like a ben, but don't break drive.
Speaker 8 (01:03:20):
We just keep pressuring Hring.
Speaker 2 (01:03:22):
They bring in four this time Van all right, second
and goal from the ten. Offer gets the snap hands
of to Williams right up the middle, hit at the five,
stayed on his feet, touchdown Central.
Speaker 8 (01:03:33):
Williams.
Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Well Williams that time, cutting right in the middle on
a drawl and a good read there on the RPO
play there by Andrew Offord, and Central is on the
board with three sixteen remaining here in the second quarter.
Speaker 8 (01:03:48):
Yeah, that was too easy.
Speaker 2 (01:03:52):
Here is Jack's Ciancio for the extra point.
Speaker 8 (01:03:57):
We got fifty yards in penalties.
Speaker 2 (01:04:01):
Snap down and the kick is up and good. So
Central on the board here seventeen seven. It's a ten
point ball game here with three sixteen remaining here in
the first half. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker. Welcome back inside Bulldogs Stadium. Let's head down
(01:04:24):
for a four seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report. Mac
McCracken has been a fast first half so far as
time for the Dogs to put some points soup.
Speaker 11 (01:04:32):
Yeah, that's right there, And you know, coach Bryan Moore,
it's just like kind of like last week, I know,
the end of the first half, we gave up that
touchdown enterprise.
Speaker 8 (01:04:38):
Same thing happening right there. Coach Alex Dowdell's over here
giving them some pretty good words of encouragement.
Speaker 11 (01:04:45):
And that's what you'd say to the defense. Defense is
very disappointing that they just gave that up. Hey, look
we had three sixteen left, guys, we can go down
there and get some points.
Speaker 8 (01:04:53):
Here, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:04:54):
I gotta watch this kickoff team. He kind of did
a funny walk back here, and I wouldn't put it
past anybody roll alongside kick attempt or something. Never know.
Three sixteen remaining here in the first half, and here's
Keaten Sparks with the kickoff and it will be returnable
(01:05:16):
here by the Bulldogs. Jalen Washington across the twenty five.
Jalen cuts it at the thirty. Jalen got a block
hit at the forty and spun out of bounds at
the forty two yard line. Good return there by mister Washington.
Jawish with a good return up to the forty two
and coach, that is a good return by my neighbor.
(01:05:36):
I like, I got your nest' that's neighbor Washington right there.
Speaker 8 (01:05:39):
I like good.
Speaker 9 (01:05:42):
All right, let's see what the dogs are gonna grow up.
We gotta get some We're gonna make some plays.
Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
Now, good field position to start here, three o eight
to work with Opalaca still with all three timeouts. One
thing you don't want to do is give Central the
football back here.
Speaker 8 (01:05:55):
No, they're bringing five.
Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
Here's Kobe Key dropping back. Got hit is he thrown
is picked off by Central at the forty yard line,
and they got a return set up, brought down a touchdown,
save and stop by Calvin Hugley at the twenty nine
yard line. Boy, something this offense has not done this
season has turned the ball over. But that was all
on a hit from the back side. And just like that,
(01:06:21):
Central's in business. Boy, a tough play right there. And
that's where a talented team like this you just can't
can't take a risk for a second against a group
like this. So now Central set up at the twenty
nine of Opelaika and if you get right back in
(01:06:42):
this thing with one score here three minutes left three
man front two wide left side. They'll give it to Williams.
Williams hit by Ty Hudson, He'll pick up two yards
down to the twenty down to the twenty seven yard
line to forty six o'clock continues to run big turn
(01:07:06):
over there interception a hint on Kolby Key an interception
by Central As the Red Devils set up right after
their first score of the game.
Speaker 8 (01:07:17):
Man run, they might run it again very well.
Speaker 2 (01:07:20):
Could here two white outs to the right, single receiver
left dayling upshaw here to the near side of the field.
Alford gets the stamp, hands the ball to Williams. Williams bounce.
Is it right? There's a flag down and a good
hit there by Hudson who comes up and holding it
as a hold. I think Keevi and King was first there.
Ty Hudson brought him down at around the twenty four
yard line. But there is a flag and it is
(01:07:40):
indication holding. It looks like often replaces that do all right,
So ten yard builty from the previous spot and they
replay the down here two fifteen left boy Coach Nick's
coming unglued on the central side that backs it back
(01:08:02):
to the thirty seven yard line.
Speaker 8 (01:08:05):
We gotta get some pressure. Now we're gonna play.
Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
This three man front again, So this will be second
down in eighteen as offered checks the sign lines two four.
The clock starts back running in central in no hurry
at all. They we'll get the football, of course, to
start the second half.
Speaker 8 (01:08:22):
Now here's a three man rush. Gotta get pressure now.
Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
Two wides left, single receiver right. Offerd gets the stamp,
hands it to Williams again and tackle down. Nice stop
there by Norman Matthews who comes in and Amari Smiley boy.
Norman Matthews coach. We've been calling his name a lot
and got an interception a few weeks back. He did
a nice job coming in there, and they sits us
third and long coming up here for central third and nineteen.
(01:08:47):
Is that one lost a yard?
Speaker 9 (01:08:50):
They gonna chunk it. Now looks like we're gonna rush
three again. We brought that fourth guy, brought the strong
safety of minut.
Speaker 2 (01:09:00):
Go crowd on their feet here at Bulldog Stadium. Offerd
empties the backfield, throws back here near side to Upshaw,
broke a tackle, stayed on his feet, but brought down
at the thirty three yard line. It'll be fourth down
as Tyler Moore comes in and makes the stop as
he brought down Daylan Upshaw, and it's fourth down and
Central's offense going to stay on the field here. It
(01:09:20):
looks like here on a fourth and fifteen, more like
a fourth than I think fourteen on huge play all right,
certainly is and Central going to take a time out,
so we'll step aside. Big fourth down coming up here
for the Red Devils, and we'll be right back after
(01:09:41):
this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the kicker back here inside Bulldog Stadium. A big play
coming up here in this end of the first half.
Forty five seconds left, a time out taken by Central
as facing a fourth down and fourteen at the open
(01:10:04):
Lanka thirty three yard line. Matt McCracken, what's the what's
the message down there from Coach Moore and the guys.
Speaker 11 (01:10:10):
They're gonna put it in the air here and uh,
Coach Bin just said, guys, keep them in front of
the sticks now, okay, don't get up tight about it
and don't let nobody behind you. He said, we've got
to make the play that we've always been wanting to
make right Now, the pressure.
Speaker 9 (01:10:24):
This quarterback Matt Well, he's got four up there rushing.
Speaker 8 (01:10:28):
He's gonna bring Hudson.
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
All right, fourth and fourteen. Here the crowd on their
feet inside Bulldog Stadium. Alford drops back, he gets pressured,
steps up in the pocket, hits sack back of the
thirty nine yard line. Boy, a huge hit there by
the Bulldogs. That was number ninety nine. You kin Lightfoot?
Whoa man? What a hit Lightfoot? Let him up back
(01:10:50):
of the thirty eight yard line. They sat on the play.
Mac McCracken. You hear that.
Speaker 8 (01:10:55):
Hitt I did right here like a bell down here.
Speaker 2 (01:10:59):
Boys, that was awesome, big, big play by this defense
to give this offense another opportunity here. That was a
huge turnover. And Central comes up empty. So here is
Colby Key, just forty seconds left, and the Bulldogs will
have it from their own thirty eight yard line, and
(01:11:19):
Key will hand the ball off to Calvin Hugley. Hugley
running here near side, and Hugly hit down at the
forty two yard line. So a short kickup and I
think Coach Moore is gonna let the clocker run here
down to twenty five seconds left, so no hurry at
all here by by coach Moore, it looks like he's
(01:11:40):
going to be content to take this one to the
locker room here just sixteen seconds left. Of course, Bulldogs
just had turnover and Colby gets the snamp, hands the
ball off to Calvin. Calvin a good run across the
forty five and Calvin up to the forty eight yard line.
But that should do it for the first half. As
the final few seconds tick off and our halftime score
(01:12:02):
seventeen to seven, Opelaika with the lead, Dogs jumped down
to US seventeen nothing lead Central answered back late turnover,
but the Red Devils came up empty with a big
stop there by the Bulldog defense. Yeah, we'll have see here.
What coach Moore has to say is Matt mccra i'
mccracking down there with coach thanks.
Speaker 8 (01:12:22):
A lot, Coach Moore.
Speaker 11 (01:12:23):
Hey, right there at the end of the half, we
give up a touchdown, a pick and then battle through.
Speaker 8 (01:12:28):
Adversity, a huge stop for us.
Speaker 6 (01:12:30):
We built our sophomore out, first time we've done a
sophomore thing right there. But we also got to put
him in a better spot than that.
Speaker 8 (01:12:36):
Right there.
Speaker 6 (01:12:37):
But huge stop defensively for us. But we got to
keep our foot on the gas. Man. This seventeen ain't
gonna be enough, guys, you know, I hope it is,
but it ain't gonna be ano. We're got to continue
to score. We got to play better in the third
and fourth quarter than we did a week ago. But
prior to the start, they get the ball right here.
We got to keep our foot on the gas though.
Speaker 8 (01:12:53):
All right, coach, let's see how we do it on
the second half. Let's go get them, all.
Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Right, Thanks so much, Matt McCracken. With a visit there
with coach Brian Moore. He heads in the locker room
with his Bulldogs leading number two Central seventeen to seven.
Here Bulldog Stadium. We are at the half. We come back,
we'll have a chance. Jason Lee will be a little bit.
I'll be alongside here and have some of the first
half highlights, and of course we'll also check some scores
from around the area as we continue here at the half,
(01:13:19):
you're listening to Opelikah Bulldog football here on the kicker.
Second half coming up here shortly again Opalaiko with a
halftime lead seventeen seven over Central will be the Red
Devils to get the football to start the second half,
and let's sit down Mac mycrack and standing by with
(01:13:39):
a four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline report mag What
was the message there in the locker room at the half, Well.
Speaker 11 (01:13:45):
Man, he really didn't even address the team at halftime.
Speaker 8 (01:13:48):
He just led his assistant coaches to do it.
Speaker 11 (01:13:50):
Stayed calm throughout. I went to one of the offensive
meetings that were going on. They were going to make
some adjustments here and find out what they liked. Just
continue to, you know, support, put some points up. Saw
ke defensive coach Kenny Prescott.
Speaker 8 (01:14:03):
Before we walked.
Speaker 11 (01:14:04):
Out the door, he just said, he said, Mac, we're
just gonna have to get after that quarterback.
Speaker 8 (01:14:08):
Keep the pressure on him. I think that's gonna be
the key to our victory. So you know, they're big
time here on the three and out, same.
Speaker 11 (01:14:14):
Thing we had last week, or we need a three
and out, So kind of set the tone early.
Speaker 8 (01:14:19):
But you know, I know from you know, from your.
Speaker 11 (01:14:22):
Talking with coach Moore, you know for the past couple
of weeks about putting it all together every single quarter.
Speaker 8 (01:14:28):
So we know the third quarter, fourth quarter.
Speaker 11 (01:14:30):
I mean he wants to see them play tremendous these
two quarters without letting anything off.
Speaker 2 (01:14:36):
All right, thanks so much. Make we'll come back with
your second half. Kick on the ways. It's open like
a seventeen central seven back after this time out here
on the kicker back here Bulldogs Stadium at the half
seventeen seven. We were just about ready to get our
(01:14:56):
second half under waving Riggs alongside coach Fitz mccrack and
Mike mccrack, our sideline reporter, Jason Lee, our spotder, and
Chris Wood, our unofficial statistician here tonight in the orthopedict
Clinic Broadcast booth, East Alabama's go to center for orthopedic care.
Two great locations in Opelaka, ann Auburn here to serve you.
Halftime is brought to you by Gory's Furniture. Gory's Furniture
(01:15:19):
Express locally on and operated by Jim and Tham Gorey.
If you need furniture, Gory's Furniture Express your furniture Headquarters
located off Highway one sixty nine in Opalaika Central. Winning
the toss to third to the second half, they got
the score last and they'll get the football back. So
a chance for the Red Devils to put up fourteen
unanswered if they can march you down the field and
score here. And this Central scored and of course got
(01:15:42):
an interception, but the Bulldogs were able to hold Central
scoreless on that one, Coach, that may be the play
of the game here, when this thing's all said and done.
Speaker 8 (01:15:50):
Yes, sir, I think so.
Speaker 2 (01:15:52):
Reece Beasley a good end over end kick and it's
over the head of the return man. He dropped it
at the ten, picked it up at the nine, going
to try to put on a turn here, and he's
chasing the fire side. They're gonna run him down around
the ten at yard line. A nice stop by the Bulldogs.
I think that again, was says Tyrese Pitts. And it
looked like Xavier Thomas. So nice play there by the defense.
(01:16:18):
And are the special teams there, Well, that's a great
way to start, yes, And that's gonna hand Central back
to the whoever eleven, whoever.
Speaker 9 (01:16:25):
Possesses the ball more than the other one's gonna win
this game.
Speaker 8 (01:16:29):
And it's gonna be on the ground usually.
Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
So Central will start first and ten for their own
eleven yard line and they'll start first and ten high
snap quarterback, got it down, gives it to Tristan Williams
a tailback. Couple of nifty moves and he's up to
around the sixteen yard line for five yards before Carson Moss.
Speaker 9 (01:16:49):
Now that's that's the same suite that we run.
Speaker 2 (01:16:55):
So Wally Country also in there on the stop as well.
Speaker 9 (01:16:58):
We got the four man from back up there. Now
we've got Alan Jackson in the game for more. I
don't think he's gonna play anymore.
Speaker 8 (01:17:08):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 2 (01:17:09):
Five yard pickups second down in five here for the
Red Devils. Two white outs to the right side, play action,
they'll go far side, caught at the twenty eight out
of bounds Daylan Upshaw's got it as he gets out
of bounds at around the thirty one yard line, and
that will be good for close to fifteen yards on
the throw and catch to Upshaw. He's the three star
(01:17:30):
Miami commit for the Red Devils and central up to
the thirty one yard line.
Speaker 9 (01:17:34):
That's a big play. That's their first big play. Got
it all the way up to the.
Speaker 2 (01:17:39):
Thirty first and ten Red Devils from their own thirty
one yard line, offered gets the snap, rolls right, steps up,
throws deep and nearly picked off by Tyres Pitts at
the fifty yard line. Tyreee just couldn't quite climb the
ladder for that one.
Speaker 6 (01:17:53):
Boy.
Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
I thought he had that tame too.
Speaker 8 (01:17:55):
We had some good pressure on him then too.
Speaker 2 (01:17:58):
Second out and ten against Central from the we're on
thirty one again, Opaka leading seventeen seven as we're just
underweight here in the second half. Eleven oh seven remaining
here in the third quarter. So second down and ten
coming up here for the Red Devils from their own
thirty one yard line. Everybody in tight now they'll bring
a man in motion and they moved.
Speaker 8 (01:18:20):
They moved.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
That's five everybody moving on that offensive line. So it's
going to back them up five yards back to the
twenty six off five yard penalty. Twenty two to eight.
The halftime score in Carver, Montgomery as they trail Auburn
and enterprise no trouble jag. They lead forty two nothing
at the half and Dothan was leading twenty four to
(01:18:44):
nothing at the half.
Speaker 9 (01:18:45):
Big play right here, don't lose contain guys. We got
our four man. We're bringing five second and fifteen. Play
action offered, wants to throw the sideline and woly, what
a nice play going up high and catching that one
was dayling upshaw again at the thirty seven than yard
line or the thirty eight and that was good for
twelve yards and it's gonna set up a third down
(01:19:08):
and four.
Speaker 8 (01:19:10):
We gotta stop him here now, van.
Speaker 2 (01:19:12):
Yeah, not four down territory here and rush third and
four for the Red Devil's quick snamp. Play action offers
pressure and he scrambles here near sign and has to
throw it away. Fourth down nobody opened. Great pressure put
on there by Carson Moss, the birthday boy, again with
good pressure, and here comes the punning team out for
(01:19:33):
the Red Devils. Good job, right, Dale, great stand by
this bulldog defense. And now Jamari Miller will trot out,
all right, and it's fourth down and four and with
ten fifty four, Jamari Miller trots back.
Speaker 8 (01:19:53):
Don't be off sides.
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
And the dogs showing pressure here. Colin Freeberg gets it away,
but it is a high short punt and it hits
and around the forty two, takes a little bit of
a central roll down to the thirty five yard line
and it will the Yolka laika football from their own
thirty five yard line, gut stomp on the defense.
Speaker 9 (01:20:10):
Coach, Yes, sir and Van exactly, And this is what
I was talking about just a minute ago. We had
one hundred and thirty yards rushing in the first half.
We've got to just run the ball, throw the quick passes.
Let's see if we can get this ball down the field.
Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
Calvin Hugley will start at the tailback position. He should
be pretty fresh. Coach, I don't think Calvin carried it
too awful much there in the first half running back
either side. They'll give it white out either side. Calvin
goes up the middle and not much there. Calvin back
to the line of scrimmage, may have picked up a
yard up to the thirty six yard line. I think
they'll give him the thirty six, but it'll be second
out of nine. Ren and core number eleven. Well, he's
(01:20:51):
had a great first half and it continues to have
a good game. That middle linebacker that's that.
Speaker 9 (01:20:54):
Little sweep, a little sweep to the right side and
went in block him.
Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
Then second down nine for the Bulldogs will wide out
either side. Here for Colby Key. Key gets the stamp
and play action. Key's gonna take it on a quarterback
keeper and strung out nicely. I'll turn it up the
sidelines though, and Key able to pick up a couple
of yards over on the far side. I don't think
(01:21:19):
they gave him much. Think you picked up a yard.
It'll be third and eight.
Speaker 8 (01:21:25):
Not a good way to start.
Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
So again the thirty seven clock stop, ten oh six
remaining here in the third quarter. Yeah, just a one
yard pickup.
Speaker 8 (01:21:34):
Got do better than that. Van can't. Got to get
this first down if we can.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
Trips receivers out to the left side of the field,
huge Ley the loan bag nearly got central to jump
by the defensive lineman able to jump back. So again,
third and eight for the Bulldogs. From there on thirty
seven yard line. Play action. Key steps up in the pocket,
wants to throw, got it to Miller forty five, Miller
cuts it. He's got the first down, and Miller cutting
down at the forty nine yard line. Big time throwing
(01:22:02):
catch twelve yards and a Lambert transfer in storage. First
down brings Cameron comes up, makes the stop for the
Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (01:22:09):
That is huge. That is just huge. Anytime we can
do this.
Speaker 2 (01:22:14):
Colby Key on the offense. Now up to the forty
nine yard line, moving from right to left, and an
I formation look here for the Bulldogs. On first down,
Key checks the shideline, the hammer, Blake Johnson a full back,
and then you got Calvin Hughley the tailback, one wide
out to the right and Colby play action. Wants to
take a deep shot for Jamorrow. He's got him open
(01:22:35):
and it is called it at the fifteen yard line.
First down, Bulldogs down to the fifteen yard line. A
Lambert transfer in storage first down, thirty six yard pick
up there and a Lambert transfer in storage first down,
and that's a big play. Dogs wanting the goats for
(01:22:56):
a shot and the home run kill. And boy tell
you Jamori's so good coach. He looked at where he
was on the field, came back, made the catch. I
formation here for the Bulldogs. First and ten at the
fifteen and a hand off to Blake Johnson who goes
left in Johnson keeps a swallowed up and a quick
whistle comes in and stops the play right there at
the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 8 (01:23:15):
Right, I ain't give nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
Did they no gain on the play? Nine oh two
o clock running here in the third again, Bulldogs leading
seventeen seven over Central and Opelaka facing a second down
and ten at the fifteen yard line of Central. Come on,
big Hogs, let's go I formation. Look here again for
Opelakah with one wide out to the right. Johnson is
(01:23:38):
the full back and Calvin Hugly again the tailback.
Speaker 8 (01:23:41):
Got six on the line.
Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Key under center, Key hands it to Calvin. He's wrapped
up and tackled for loss at Calvin south Hall in
the backfield and wrapped up Calvin Hugly. So this will
be a third and thirteen coming up down for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (01:24:01):
There.
Speaker 8 (01:24:01):
We didn't block anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:24:03):
They have really pinned their ears back on this I formation.
Look here and done a good job. And see if
the Dogs go back to the air. Here Calvin Hughley
to the left of Colby Key. They show pressure. It's
like the linebacker blitzing off the end. Now they'll change
the play and bring bring Blake Johnson over to the
left side. Now he'll move over to the right side.
(01:24:27):
And that's going to be a movement penalty. Boy, everybody
moved and the stat never came. It's going to be
five yards that will back things up. It's going to
be a third and lawn. Third and eighteen coming up now.
Goodness boy, and that's tough because you kind of march
back out of field goal range now too, still in
(01:24:47):
range of Rhys Beasley, but got to pick some yards
up here to have a good shot at three down
to the twenty three yard line, and this will be
third and eighteen now for the Bulldogs. Key another motion
of oh, I tell you, everybody moving and no snap coming.
(01:25:11):
I'm not sure penalty. Oh, this is another tough five
yard penalty and boil pul like of marching in the
wrong direction.
Speaker 8 (01:25:20):
Jackson's not snapping the ball and.
Speaker 2 (01:25:22):
He's looking I guess over towards the sideline and trying
to trying to get communication and coach more trying to
calm everybody down. Julian Pritchett will check in the ball game.
Speaker 10 (01:25:35):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
It's gonna be third and twenty three. Back to the
twenty eight yard line now, Calvin Hugley to the left
of Kolby Key, who will work it out of the
shotgun here on third and law play action. They'll throw
here near side to Quest. Johnson. Quest couple of nifty
moves and he's slung out of anands at the twenty
five yard line, so the Dogs get about three yards back.
(01:25:57):
And we'll see if coach Moore tries to take a
shot at a hat a long field goal. Here looks
like he will send Reese Beasley out where the spot
of the football is actually at the twenty four forty
(01:26:18):
one yarder from just inside the left hash here for
Reese Beasley. A little bit of a breeze blowing to
the right here at Bulldog Stadium. Man, the snap is good,
the hole is good, and the kit is up and
the kit is good. Forty one yarder for Reese Beasley,
(01:26:39):
who has been on fire for the Bulldogs, and that
scoring drive. Power by Open like a Power services hometown
people working for you online at open likeapower dot com.
It's open like a twenty central seven with six twenty
five remaining here in the third quarter, and we're back
after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog football here
on the kicker. Hello, Pelika attacks on three here in
(01:27:10):
the second half only score and so far here in
this second half of Pea like it leads twenty to
seven over Central six twenty five remaining here in the
third quarter of play and Opelaka getting set to kick
things off back to the Red Devils here inside Bulldog Stadium,
coming to you from the Northopedic Clinic broadcast booth. Reese Beasley,
who just had that forty one yard kick, kicks this
one right into the six yard line. Dad, he didn't
(01:27:32):
quite touch the yard line. He stays in bounds and
he's going to be hit down of the twenty nine
yard line. Boy, he probably should have let that one go,
but he did not. That was Tristan Williams, the running
back who got it, and boy, he just missed going
out of bounds at the six yard line. He stayed
in bounds, but and he carries it back up close
to the thirty though. Mark him at the thirty yard line.
(01:27:52):
So that's where the Red Devils will have it first.
In ten good defense by this Bulldog team, holding the
Red Devil so far to just seven points. Hard offense
to keep in check. You know they're gonna get theirs
at some point, Coach, you just got to keep Yeah,
they're plugging along, plugging along, and keep adding some points
on the board to try to stretch yourself against them.
Speaker 14 (01:28:13):
For four man defense offered hands the ball off to
the tailback Crow, and he's gonna be swallowed up for
a one yard pickup.
Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
Malik Alltree in there on the stubble of the lake.
Stop the junior Donovan Crowe the tailback. Great job, great, Yes,
Tristan Williams. A quick breather. Second down to nine coming
up now for the Red Devils from their own thirty
one yard line. I'm gonna chunk this one long look
over to the sidelines by Andrew Alford. Twenty to seven.
(01:28:46):
Opalaika with the lead here in the third quarter, five
forty four in the clock.
Speaker 8 (01:28:50):
Around four man rush again four to two.
Speaker 2 (01:28:53):
Two wide outs, left side offered again, hands the ball off.
This is Crow and Crow's got a first down run
as he's up to the forty three yard line. Well
Mark and Macs at the forty two. That is an
eleven yard pickup there by Donovan Craive.
Speaker 8 (01:29:10):
We can do better than that. You got six in
the box right there.
Speaker 4 (01:29:13):
Come on.
Speaker 9 (01:29:15):
Kyler Moore's back in the game at linebacker Eman Hudson.
Speaker 2 (01:29:21):
First down at ten, fourth central, five nineteen, the clock
running here in the third.
Speaker 8 (01:29:25):
And we're back in that three man front.
Speaker 2 (01:29:28):
Crow stays in the ball game to the left of Andrew.
Alford gets the snap, hands the ball to Crow again.
Crow swaddle up in the backfield for the moment and
got about three yards up to the forty five yard line.
Tackle by Mary Smiley and forty four ty Hudson on
(01:29:49):
the stop.
Speaker 8 (01:29:50):
Maryley, they're going.
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
Miley in Hudson now on that one is going to
be second down in seven coming up here for central
from there on forty five.
Speaker 8 (01:29:58):
They got the three man again, got the three to
the three two.
Speaker 2 (01:30:03):
I'm with you, coach. I think the SHOT's coming at
some point here. You know they've got to take a
deep shot. They've got three wide outs wide to the
left side. Slick a receiver here to the near side,
an offer gets the snamp play action. This may be
yet pressure throw in a hole in the backfield and
they throw deep in it's out of bounds boy and
no flag. Throwing a boy the opal like a side
(01:30:25):
letting the white hat know that that is terrible. Well
a look like Hudson was getting held from behind. No
flag though, Third and seven coming up.
Speaker 8 (01:30:41):
Dead coming.
Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
Big third down here for this Bulldog defense. They're bringing four.
They're gonna throw it. They got two white outs either
side here for Andrew Alford and the Red Devils. Offered
out of the shot gun, gets the snamp, drops back,
throws across the middle, tip nearly intercepted. It's incomplete though,
and it's fourth down. Another good stand by this Bulldog defense. Wow,
(01:31:08):
that was Xavier Thomas there. They got a hand on
that one. Youngster comes in there and gets a big tip.
And now Colin Freeberg will come back out to punt
this one away for the Red Devils.
Speaker 8 (01:31:22):
Oh, that's a big play.
Speaker 2 (01:31:23):
Oh, it certainly was.
Speaker 8 (01:31:25):
Be careful about the fake here.
Speaker 9 (01:31:27):
Now Maori Miller for the Bulldogs, they're coming after this one.
Speaker 2 (01:31:37):
Looks like Opelaika was wanting to get some pressure. Low
snap just got it away and Jamari's gonna call a
fair catch and goes back on his rear end to
catch that one at the twenty five yard line. Is
misjudge that one? Maybe just a hair, but did a
good job coming alway with that one, and the Bulldogs
will have it first and ten for their own twenty
five yard line. Big stops here, Coach McCracken, for this day.
Speaker 8 (01:31:57):
You understand, you're you're absolutely right and open.
Speaker 9 (01:32:01):
That was the worst I cannot believe he did not
call holding on that boy.
Speaker 8 (01:32:05):
God leaves, he's right in front of him.
Speaker 2 (01:32:08):
Van Well, I tell you what, coach, we'll get him,
get up with him after the ball game.
Speaker 9 (01:32:12):
We'll well that coach over that barking at him in
the first half.
Speaker 2 (01:32:15):
Anyway, all right, from they're on twenty five yard line,
it'll be first down and ten for kolbe Key in
the offense. Here's a good run near side, and this
is Waits on the carry. And Waits is out of
downs at the thirty right at the thirty See where
they marked him down at the thirty three yard line.
(01:32:36):
Gonna be a couple of yards shy of the first down.
It'll be second and two.
Speaker 9 (01:32:40):
Good, good, good, Come on, guys, come.
Speaker 2 (01:32:45):
On those of the football from the thirty three yard
line again, Jordan Waits in the backfield, gets the hand off,
Waits cuts it inside and Waits not much there. Maybe
didn't these cloth, but no, I don't think he got
to the line. Yeah, I think he got to the
(01:33:05):
line of scrimmage. Line of scrimmage is the we need, boy,
we need this first down, pay now, Van, line of
scrimmage the thirty three. This will be third and two.
Blake Johnson is in the ballgame, and it'll remain Jordan
Wait's the tailbag here on third and two. The Dogs
(01:33:28):
facing this third and two from their own thirty three
yard line as we hit three minutes left in the
third quarter, key under center handoff goes to Blake Johnson.
Johnson hit from behind and you gotta be stopped short.
Did not get it. Johnson got up to the thirty
nine yard line or the thirty four yard line, rather
needs the thirty five. And here comes the punting team
(01:33:50):
in for the Bulldogs. So tough there. The Dogs did
not get the yardage needed. They're gonna have to punt
it back to central rather quickly. Here quick three and
out here for the Bulldog offense. Let's get us the
first punt of the game for the Bulldogs too. Let's
get a good punt here. First time. Zion Henderson has
(01:34:10):
been in the ball game, hopeful like them, showing like
they wanted to maybe fake it there as a couple
of players ran up quickly on the line of scrimmage
down to two on the play clock down to one,
and Henderson gets in and puts a time booming punt
into This one's gonna drift the return man back around
the twenty one yard line and a fair catch will
(01:34:31):
be taken at the twenty two yard line. Heck of
a boot there, that's about forty four yards. Yeah, forty
four punt there, Good night, Sion Henderson, good job, good job.
So Central will have it for their own twenty two
yard line. Two oh three remaining here in this third quarter.
You know these games are one by defense, and so
(01:34:53):
far Opekas have been playing better.
Speaker 8 (01:34:55):
Run the ball. Told you all that before the game started.
Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Two three left here in the third in Opaka leading
twenty to seven. But Central back, with a football offered
out of the shotgun, drops back, throws across the middle incomplete, right,
and it will be second down and ten.
Speaker 10 (01:35:15):
Falls up complete, sucking down ten.
Speaker 9 (01:35:17):
The two of six throwing second and ten. Come on, guys,
they're gonna rush the.
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
Three again to one remaining clock stop With that incomplete pass,
it'll be second down and ten again. Here for Alford.
He gets the snap, rolls here to the near side,
got a man open of the twenty five, turned up
field down the sidelines across the forty forty five at midfield.
Nice move at the thirty five, stays on his feet
and just brought down a touchdown saving stop by Ty
(01:35:47):
Hudson at the twenty nine yard line. A big time
catch and a better run by Davian Bennett, and he's
got it all the way down to the opal Aika.
I think they marked him down, it looks like at
the twenty nine yard line, so that will be a
pickup of forty nine yards and a central first down.
(01:36:08):
One left in the third and central on the move,
first in ten and official timeout. I'm not sure what
the stompage in play is about here, but we've got
a time out on the field. We'll step aside, quick
time out. Bulldog's leading twenty to seven, one forty nine
(01:36:29):
left in the third, and we're back after this time
out here on the kicker well an official timeout, nothing
doing there. First and ten at the twenty nine offered
drops back, throws deep and it is in and out
of the hands intended for Dayling Upshaw at the eleven
yard line. Just dropped that one a little behind him,
but I know that's one. Upshaw certainly thinks he should
(01:36:52):
a hand. Oh God, leave so second down in ten
coming up here. Four of the red devils again at
the twenty nine of Opalaikam got away with one there,
Coach mccrack.
Speaker 9 (01:37:02):
He did, and Dave Russian three here. Now we got
might bring the fourth I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
Twenty to seven Opelaka with the L one thirty five
remaining here in this third quarter, trips out look to
the left side of the field, offer it empties the backfield.
He steps up in the pocket, throws and it is incomplete.
Now flag comes in by gonna be an interference call.
I guess on Opelakah and that was intended for wide
(01:37:35):
receiver number six, Javon Patterson, and they got Dixon all
the interference and gon'll be a tough first down down
to the fifteen yard line. Bulldog's been looking for that turnover,
(01:37:56):
Coach McCracken.
Speaker 14 (01:37:57):
Maybe they can get it here where we need that
we got we got to get a stop.
Speaker 8 (01:38:01):
We got to get a stop. We gotta get pressure.
Speaker 2 (01:38:03):
On this quarterback one nine left in the third trips
receivers out and left singer receiver to the right side
of the field upshaw. The star white out is to
the right here on this play short side of the
field offered play action wants to go to Upshaw on
the insine and it is over his head. Oh my goodness.
Another flag comes in and pass interference. Pass interference on Opalaika. Well,
(01:38:41):
I don't know, a little bit, a little bit of
touch there maybe, but not much. It'll be first in goal,
Central down at the seven yard line, first and goal
at the seven. Trips receivers out to the left side
(01:39:02):
of the field. Crow as the tailback. Crow gets the
hand off, he's hit right at the line of scribbage.
No gain on the play, may have picked up a yard.
He can actually get a first down inside the five.
Carson Moss on the stop, so it'll be second down
in two. You can get a first down inside the five.
Twenty to seven Opalaika with the lead of the Red
(01:39:22):
Devil's threatening here late third quarter, one to oh three
in the clock, continuing to run. Well, I see when
kick these guys out of the end zone here second
down in two for the first down from the seven
yard line. There's a flag on the plague in a
motion penalty against Central, So that's a big one. So
(01:39:46):
fifty one seconds left here in the third there's a
five yard penalty and that will back Central back to
around the twelve yard line or.
Speaker 8 (01:39:56):
This is huge right here, yes sir, it is.
Speaker 2 (01:39:58):
Fifty one seconds image and they'll be second down in seven.
They can get a first down inside the five yard line.
Speaker 8 (01:40:05):
If he's gonna throw. We got the pressure him now.
Speaker 2 (01:40:09):
At the opal like a twelve yard line, Red Devils.
Second and seven clock starts back down to thirty four.
In another flag, they got a movement again on central,
So another five yard penalty against the Red Devils and
that's gonna back him up another five yards.
Speaker 8 (01:40:34):
Good job, guys, good job.
Speaker 2 (01:40:35):
So now we'll be a second down in seventeen for
the Red Devils. At the seventeen yard line is the
line of scrimmage, second and seventeen again the first down
markers inside the five and the coaches telling the crowd
to get on their feet, come on, come on. Game
clock starts back running down to seventeen. Offered play action
(01:40:57):
throws and it's picked up on the Bulldogs at the
ten yard line. Keevian King with the interception at the
fifteen yard line. He's knocked out of bounds. Big time
turnover by mister King.
Speaker 3 (01:41:09):
A boy, oh hugh, And that was a Bubba's Medicine
Shop just what the doctor ordered right there.
Speaker 2 (01:41:22):
Only coach Corey wanted a late hit on that one too,
as they came over and got a shot on King
on the sideline.
Speaker 8 (01:41:29):
I saw it, no call, hey no.
Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
On eight seconds left, the Bulldog's back with the football
from their own fifteen yard line.
Speaker 9 (01:41:36):
Main offense has got to go now, We've got to
run the football.
Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
One more play left here in the third quarter. To'll
be a handoff to Calvin Hugley Stiff's arms of man
and he's head out of bounds at around the sixteen
yard line. Short pickup. But we head to the fourth
quarter and it is time for the like show here
in Bulldog Stadium. One more Oh. The Dogs up twenty
to seven over Central's. We head to the fourth and
(01:42:03):
you're listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker j
w KKR Auburn Opalaika is League County's best country ninety
seven point seven kicker FN and iHeart Country Station. Big
interception by the Bulldog defense to close out things in
the third quarters. We head to the fourth Opalaika with
(01:42:24):
a second and nine and Dogs they're on sixteen yard line.
Speaker 9 (01:42:29):
Our last three rushes is two one and minus three.
Speaker 8 (01:42:35):
Got to run the ball van yep.
Speaker 2 (01:42:37):
Second down in nine. We got four, opelaiko.
Speaker 8 (01:42:39):
We got to keep the ball here. Now, come on, guys.
Speaker 2 (01:42:43):
Find a way to score. That's for sure. A double
two backs of the backfield here for Key out of
the shotgun. He'll give it to big Blake Johnson and
Johnson across the twenty and Johnson, they'll say, down right
at the twenty yard line for four yards there by
Big Blake Johnson. Big play eleven forty eight left here
in the ball game, twenty to seven. Our score, opalaika
(01:43:03):
with the.
Speaker 8 (01:43:03):
Lead, huge play.
Speaker 2 (01:43:09):
Bird down in five coming up here for the Bulldogs.
When they're on twenty yard line, they'll need the twenty
five for the first down.
Speaker 8 (01:43:17):
Biggest play of the game right here.
Speaker 2 (01:43:20):
I gotta find a way to keep this clock running here,
four man rush, two wide outs to the right side
of the field. Key gets the snap hand off to
the tail back and that was actually Jamari Miller in
the backfield and Jamari no gain on the play carrier.
So we're gonna have to punt it away. Here be
fourth down and five coming up here for the Bulldogs.
Speaker 13 (01:43:43):
Four.
Speaker 2 (01:43:45):
So Central's defense has really bowed up on this run
game and coach More, I don't think wanting to take
any chances here through the air deep in his own territory.
His defense has been playing so good. Zion Henderson has
been punting the ball really well. Need to get a
really big boot into the this one. Central in safe mode.
Here Henderson stands at around the eight yard line to
(01:44:08):
catch this cam Riley Raley snap and Henderson gets it.
Put a big move into this one another moon shot
man fair catch called forth the forty one yard line,
so that's where the Red Devils will have it. Ten
thirty left. Eve the Bulldogs defense again to step up
big here and the Red Devils will come out from
run forty one yard line.
Speaker 9 (01:44:29):
You know, you know they kept the ball like seven
minutes and we give it right back to them. Man,
we have got to do better on offense. Fan, Yeah,
I gotta find a way, ah leave. We didn't make
a first down the last two times we had the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:44:44):
So Central will have it for their own forty one
yard line.
Speaker 8 (01:44:49):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:44:49):
D Alferd's got two receivers left, single receiver to the
right side. He gets the snap, hands the ball off.
This is Williams trying to run right sides, tripped and
slip the tackles. State up is on the feet at
the forty five. Hey, he's going to get up close
to the forty seven yard line. We're going to be
close to six yards on the pickup before Tyrese Pitts
got it down.
Speaker 8 (01:45:09):
We both had fifteen snaps right now.
Speaker 2 (01:45:13):
Check it down and four with ten to oh nine
left here in the ball game and the Dogs leading
by thirteen here twenty to seven, two whiteouts left. Single
receiver to the right side, offered out of the shotgun
here from his own forty three yard a forty six
yard line hand off to Williams and ty Hudson stands
(01:45:33):
him up right there, and he's going to be short
of the first down as they sprought it down the
forty nine yard line, a two yard pickup. This will
set up a third and two here for the Red
Devil's near midfield run clock run, Yeah, sir, the longer
it takes to score the better down. In Montgomery twenty
two fourteen, Auburn leading Carver Montgomery. Here it's twenty to seven.
(01:45:57):
Come up alike, a leading.
Speaker 8 (01:45:58):
Central come on, big play here.
Speaker 2 (01:46:02):
Red Devil's dear midfield from their own forty nine yard line,
facing a third and two with nine seventeen left in
the game. Two wide left single receiver right Offered gets
the snap, hands off trip to the backfield and right
at the first down marker is Tristan Williams. I believe
he's got enough for the first down. We'll see where
they mark him down at and a signal first down.
(01:46:24):
What looks pretty close. Carson Moss came in on the stop,
but at the opalak of forty nine it will be
a first down two yard pickup there right Tristan Williams.
Clott continues to run. Now under nine minutes to go.
Offered out of the shot gun again, Williams the loan
(01:46:45):
back to his left. Two wide left single receiver right
play action Offered wants to take a shot, gets hit
complete to Michael Bass and Devin court Ingram. Rather they're
on the stop right at the first down marker. April
going to say he was shy of the first down
at the forty yard line, but a pick up of
nine yards that will set up second and one at
(01:47:07):
the forty of Opelaika eight twenty six left in the ballgame.
Opal like a leading twenty to seven, but Central on
the move again. Two wide outs to the left, singer
receiver to the right. Boy, Well, we need to make
a play here in another interception.
Speaker 8 (01:47:24):
We need Yeah, we need to not let him run
it on us.
Speaker 2 (01:47:28):
Williams again, the loan back Williams gets the handoff out
of the backfield. Another good hole to Maury. Smiley chases
him down around the thirty two yard line and it
will be plenty for the first down and that pickup
is good for nine yards and that'll move the chains.
Speaker 9 (01:47:45):
They've had nineteen snaps and we've had at fifteen, so
they're they're keeping the ball from.
Speaker 2 (01:47:52):
Us eight yard pickup at the thirty three of Opelikah
seven forty eight left in our ball game. At a
first Central offered play action throws here and it is
caught and nice tackle at the twenty yard line by
cord ingram As. Michael Bass again comes up and makes
the ground. Well, he's six four one seventy five sophomore.
(01:48:14):
He is a tall target over here on the near side.
Another Central first down and they'll mark it down at
the eighteen a fifteen yard throwing ketch first and ten
Red Devils at the Opalaka eighteen seven, twenty three left
in the game here in the fourth quarter, Alford gets
the stamp, hand off to Williams and Williams tackled in
(01:48:37):
the inside down to the fourteen yard line, haw to
be close to four yards before Amary Smiley gets him down.
It'll be second down in six coming up for the
Red Devils and marching it right down the field here,
seven oh two remaining here in the game in a
thirteen point ball game right now Opalaika with the lead
twenty to seven, but a score here really tightens this
(01:48:59):
thing up in our hur.
Speaker 8 (01:49:00):
Going back to that three man front, they're gonna run.
Speaker 2 (01:49:02):
At this Williams to the right, Andrew Alford gets the stamp,
hands the ball to Williams, and Williams trying to bounce
it outside, now cuts it inside and he's finally brought
down to around the six yard line, and it's gonna
be another central first down and to be first in
goal for the Red Devils with six thirty nine remaining
here in the game and score here is gonna really
(01:49:27):
put the pressure on this bulldog ofutfit so that they
have not had in a long time.
Speaker 8 (01:49:31):
Where we hadn't had the ball, but two times in
the second half.
Speaker 2 (01:49:35):
Yeah, six twenty three left in our game. First and
goal Central at the seven fade pass in the end zone,
and that is over the head intended for the big
tall Michael Bass and it will be second in goal
at the seven yard line again of Opalaika. I don't
think Central's thinking field goal here, fans.
Speaker 8 (01:49:55):
Somebody's got to make a play. Yeah, somebody's got to
make a play for us.
Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
You're looking for a hit, fumble, another interception. Central's had
some opportunities, have've came up empty here on Ople like
a side of the field. Tonight, Dogs hadn't found the
end zone since the first quarter, added a couple of
field goals along the way.
Speaker 8 (01:50:18):
They rushing four.
Speaker 2 (01:50:20):
Second and goal from the seven offered gets the snap
play action, rolls to his right, throws in the end zone,
and Upshaw's got it for the Central touchdown across the
middle and an athlete going up and making a play
in Central an extra point away from making this one
a six point ball game with six twelve remaining here
(01:50:43):
in the ballgame, and here is Jack Ciencio for the
extra point, and things tightening up here inside Bulldog Stadium
snap down and the kick is up and the kick
is good. Six point ball game, Dogs on top, six
twelve left here in our fourth quarter for Bulldog Stadium.
(01:51:07):
We're back after this time out. You're listening to Bulldog
football here on the kicker. Thanks tying up here at
Bulldog Stadium, a six point ball game now Central adding
a touchdown here with the Bulldogs leading still twenty to fourteen,
(01:51:29):
but six twelve left. Still plenty of time here at
Bulldog Stadium. And here is the kickoff from Caden Sparks
getting set to kick it away. We'll get a four
seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline report after this kickoff. Check
in with mc mccrack it down on the sideline. The
Dogs needing a big offensive series coming up here with
(01:51:50):
six twelve left in this game and a big boot
into this one that will carry in to the end zone.
All Jamari is going to try to return it here
from the five. Jamari cut it at the twenty. Jamori,
nice spin move and cut up close to the twenty
four yard line. Good return by Jamari, And let's sit
down to mc McCracken with a four seasons Federal Credit
Union sideline report.
Speaker 11 (01:52:08):
Mac Yeah Man, it's just like you said. Listen to
the office. Coordinator J. D Adkins was down here with
his offensive line and just said, it's got to be
all kel. I've got to step it up. We've got
to create holes. This is the six minutes, like you
just said. Man, this is the drive that's gonna win
the game. Offensively, we've we've sputtered. They've they' whooped us
up pretty good on the front. You gotta find a way.
Good football teams, we've got to find a way to
(01:52:30):
win this game. We've got to get a good hey,
get a good uh, get a good sustained drive, and
let's win this ball game.
Speaker 2 (01:52:36):
All right, thanks so much. Mac. Dogs will start for
their own twenty five yard line. It will be an
option to play a pitch out to Calvin Hugly and
Kugley going to be stopped for no game they lost
to half a yard. Just nothing doing in this run
game here, Yeah, the second half and Calvin Hugly stopped,
it'll be second down in ten for the Bulldog offense.
Flock running out with five forty five remaining. How to
(01:53:01):
find a way too, to give this defense a little
breather too. They've been out there on the field a
lot here in the second half.
Speaker 9 (01:53:07):
We've had one first down in the second half. I'm
not trying to be negative. I'm just trying to get
this buck. Come on, old, let's go make a play.
Speaker 2 (01:53:17):
Dogs from their own twenty five yard line. Out of
the shotgun formation is where Key will go. Here on
this second down play five eighteen to play in the game,
lay action, Key drops back, pressured, sacked back at the
eight yard line. Just could not get away from the
pressure and a Darius Lee the defensive end comes in
(01:53:38):
and sacks Key and that is a huge loss all
the way back to the thirteen yard line. So play
you just could not have there, and the Dogs lose
boy over ten yards back to the thirteen yard line.
(01:53:59):
Twelve yard loss. Third and twenty two, four thirty nine
left in our ballgame. Key out of the shotgun. He's
got two whiteouts now either side here on this third
and a mile play here for the Bulldogs and coach Moore,
I think will burn a time out, So time out
on the field. Four to twenty nine left, third and
(01:54:19):
a mile coming up in Central's offence or their mouse
watered on the sidelines to get back out They've been
red hot here in the second half, and it is
a six point ball game. Ope, like a leading though
twenty to fourteen. We're back after this time out here
on the kicker. Four to twenty nine left here in
(01:54:42):
our ballgame. Ope, like a leading twenty to fourteen over Central.
After a red hot start, things settled down and Central's
gotten this within six now and Opelika backed up. Now
third and twenty two Dogs from their own thirteen yard line.
Key drops, back, throws, fade passed down the sidelines, try
to get it to your Mariy Miller and it's incomplete
(01:55:02):
and the punting team will have to come on for
the Bulldogs in Central looking to get good field position
around midfield here and hopefully Zion Henderson can get a
huge boot into this one. That was double coverage really
on Jamari just nowhere really to go with the football
on that third down throw. Still plenty of time, boy,
The Central offense doesn't need much. They got four twenty
(01:55:25):
four to work with here left in this ball game.
And Zion Henderson about a step back in his end
zone to our left to catch this snap, gets it
and puts a high kick into this one, and a
fair catch taken at around the forty five yard lines.
A really good field position here for Central. They've got
at the gop like a forty six yard line. A boy,
(01:55:46):
the defense is going to have to really step up
here in the Bulldog fans getting on their feet try
to encourage this defense as they tried down onto the
field here with four seventeen left, Andrew Offered in this
offense says, really heat it up here. Last couple of
times they.
Speaker 8 (01:56:06):
Were out, we got the four man front.
Speaker 2 (01:56:11):
Offered gets the snap, hand the ball off to Williams,
and Williams is brought down maleak Autrey gets him down
at the forty five yard line. A pickup of one
on the play.
Speaker 10 (01:56:22):
Carrier tackle number ninety six Pey Gowdrey League Game one.
Speaker 8 (01:56:27):
Yard tack it down nine, throw the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:56:29):
They're gonna throw it here. Clock runs after that run
three point fifty two left of the game again, opal
Like a leading twenty to fourteen at Central with the
football at the Opalaka forty five yard line. Offered gets
the snamp play action throws here near side and a
nice tackle by Tyrese Pitts. He hauls him down at
the forty three yard line, and that will set up
(01:56:52):
a third down coming up here for the Red Devils.
And at the Opalaka forty two.
Speaker 8 (01:56:57):
This is two down territory. They're gonna take two down
to try to get a first down.
Speaker 2 (01:57:02):
Come on, guys, let's go third and six for the
Red Devils. They take their time checking the sidelines. The
clock continues to run three nineteen left in the ball game.
Speaker 8 (01:57:11):
It's gonna be a throw.
Speaker 2 (01:57:14):
Twenty fourteen Dogs up by six. Central moving from right
to left at the opal Laika forty two.
Speaker 8 (01:57:19):
Come on, don't loose.
Speaker 2 (01:57:20):
Contain game clock down to three oh six offered gets
the snap play action looks right, takes a deep shot
down field and it is overshot intended for number five
Dayling upshaw. Good coverage by Kiev and King, and it
will be fourth down and six coming up here for Central.
Speaker 14 (01:57:38):
Oh, this is the game right here, man, boy, do
you bring the house coach, I'm gonna he's gonna throw
the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
Oh, there's no doubt.
Speaker 8 (01:57:46):
Yeah, we're gonna have to pressure this quarterback. We did
pretty good. Then we've rushed five guys at him.
Speaker 2 (01:57:53):
I remember towards the end of that game against Pike Road.
Boy Kenny Prescott and then coach Adam Massey and the crowd.
They brought the hand. We better bring some pressure. Offer's
really good, a state championship quarterback. Yeah, they're bringing five.
They're bringing five trips to the right side. Offered wants
to roll to the right, throws quick, it's caught and
stead up at his feet tackle down at the forty
(01:58:14):
yard line. The Dogs come up with a fourth down stop,
big time play. The Dogs were all over the wide
receiver Daaling upshaw Keevian King was there, Tyreese Pitts was there,
and the Dogs back on the field with two fifty left,
rat caught.
Speaker 7 (01:58:29):
I had a mess.
Speaker 9 (01:58:30):
He broke five guys, put press shorting.
Speaker 2 (01:58:34):
We didn't lose contained.
Speaker 9 (01:58:36):
We did a great job, great job of tackling too well.
Speaker 2 (01:58:39):
Still two fifty left here in the ball game and
central steal with all three timeouts, so this one's certainly
not over and the Bulldogs are gonna have to get
some offense going here to run this clock out that control.
We'll be using some of these timeouts. Calvin Hugley in
the ballgame. Blake Johnson as the blocker. Dogs were there
(01:58:59):
all a forty yard line here on first down, they'll
give it to Calvin. Calvin cuts it at the forty
Calvin inside the forty five, Calvin across midfield and a
flag comes down. They face last them at the forty
five first down. Bulldogs, Boy, we got face mask city
going on out there in a big first down run,
(01:59:21):
a Lambert transfer in storage first down and finally some
my fat on this field Dog team that is that boy,
and coach, you'd love to just get in field goal
range right here, coach, because you could really put this
out of reach with a field r Well, I.
Speaker 8 (01:59:39):
Just want to run the clock. I just want to run.
Speaker 2 (01:59:41):
They running the clock out would be good, but we're
getting close to field goal range right here.
Speaker 8 (01:59:45):
They still got all three timeouts left, don't they.
Speaker 2 (01:59:48):
That would make it a nine point game yesterday. I'm
out taken by Central to forty three left of the
ball game, a first down opalaika at the central yard line.
When we come back. You're listening to Bulldog football here
on the kick. Boy, that was a big penalty there
(02:00:13):
on Central. As the Bulldogs now have it at the
twenty nine of Central and Mac McCracken. That's almost as
Bill Gold range for Reyes Beasley Yeah it is.
Speaker 11 (02:00:23):
Hey, coach Atkins that just got into that huddle right there.
I said, guys, shut up and listen to me. Laser focused,
laser focused. They're down to two timeouse. Now we're gonna
have a run the football. Run the football, run the football.
Speaker 2 (02:00:36):
I like it, Amen, Amen, All right, down to the
twenty nine of Central again, Opelika leading here twenty to
fourteen Johnson and Hugley and the ball game. Johnson the blocker,
Calvin will get the handoff and Calvin right at the
line of scrimmage gonna be brought down and coach Nicks
quickly comes in and colls time out and that will
stop the game clock with two thirty six left. Yeah,
(02:00:58):
stopped and no game on the play. I actually lost
the yard back to the thirty yard line, So time
out taken by Central. It'll be second down and eleven
when we come back after this thirty second time out
here listening to Bulldog football here on the kicker Coach
(02:01:21):
Patrick Nixon. Central down to their last time out, two
thirty nine remaining, and it will be second down and
eleven for Opalaika. No big surprise here what the Bulldogs
will be probably doing and that's trying to run the football.
But Central has been stout and they are bringing the
house down right now.
Speaker 8 (02:01:37):
Yeah, they got nine ten at the line of.
Speaker 2 (02:01:39):
Scrimmage, Kobe gets the handoff, they'll give it to Calvin. No,
Kobe keeps it, trying to run right side. Kobe turns
up field and he's out of bounds at around the
twenty five yard line. He does go out of bounds,
but he gets to the twenty five yard line, and
that will stop the clock with two thirty two left,
and it will up a third down and five coming
(02:02:03):
up here.
Speaker 9 (02:02:04):
Lee, I wish you wouldn't have gone out of bounds,
but that oh no mind I third down.
Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
Well, you get some yardage back here, at least at
the twenty five yard line, and like we said, could
be four down territory here for the Bulldogs, and they
may try to they get close enough, maybe try to
get a field to put this one away. Two thirty
two left, Dogs twenty Central fourteen third and six at
the Central twenty five. Huglely gets the handoff and Hugly
down close to the twenty three yard line, and Central
(02:02:32):
will come in and burn their last time out and
that will stop the clock with twenty seven left, and
we will see just what coach Brian Moore wants to do.
Speaker 8 (02:02:43):
I think he's gonna kick the field goal.
Speaker 2 (02:02:45):
I think that might be what the Bulldogs will elect
to do. Here we will see and it will be
a forty yarder. Of course, Reese already made a forty
one yard or earlier in the in the ball game,
and this one is right in the middle of the field. Now,
that would make this a nine point game with two
twenty seven left. Boy, coach, everybody's Hardley pumping and thumping
(02:03:08):
a little bit faster than they were when we got
here tonight. So we'll see just what they decide to
do here. Mac mccracking down on the field and Mac,
what do you think the conversation is here?
Speaker 8 (02:03:21):
Make the field goal?
Speaker 7 (02:03:23):
I mean?
Speaker 8 (02:03:24):
And Mick is this is?
Speaker 9 (02:03:25):
This reminds you of the Central game back when Motley
kicked that fifty yarder, lined it.
Speaker 8 (02:03:31):
Up, didn't even think about it, say hey, same end zone,
let's do it, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (02:03:37):
I'm nice of it, all right, could be for the
game here too. Twenty seven left Central now with no timeouts,
and like we mentioned, right in the middle of the field,
and here comes Reese Beasley out forty yard field goal
in the middle of the field. Here the six point
ball game. You got Rody Jones to hold this one
(02:04:02):
and Reese Beasley from right in the middle of the field,
and they're gonna run up under center now, trying to
get Central to jump. I'm sure coach more will maybe
take a time out and he will so trying to
get him to jump and get the free first down
didn't work, and we'll see if Bulldogs will come back
out and try this field goal again. Here we'll step
(02:04:22):
aside for a quick thirty second time out. You're listening
to Bulldog football right now. Dogs twenty central fourteen. A
big fourth down play coming up next. Reese Beasley will
trying to put this game out of reach. Here to
twenty seven left, lining up for a forty yard field
(02:04:43):
goal from right in the middle of the field. The
hold and the kick will come from the thirty yard line,
and here is Reese right in the middle of the field,
made a forty one yard or earlier. Brody Jones will
hold snap, good place down and the kick in is
up and it.
Speaker 8 (02:05:01):
Is good, good good.
Speaker 15 (02:05:04):
Kick us good.
Speaker 2 (02:05:06):
Nine point ball game with two, twenty two left. Reese Beasley,
Reese Beasley boy, Reese boy. Marshall Myers about not Reeese
about five yards?
Speaker 8 (02:05:26):
I believe Doc Hawson.
Speaker 2 (02:05:28):
Knocked him down. Great snap too, boy, This makes it
a nine point game.
Speaker 9 (02:05:35):
Oh great, Camden Riley, he was the snapper, guys.
Speaker 8 (02:05:40):
Raley Rayley, excuse me, Phil Raley. I want if he's
any kin to doctor Roley. So here we go.
Speaker 2 (02:05:59):
What yard field goal by Reese Beasley, coach, he has kicked?
That is now six field goals in the last two
games for Reese Beesley.
Speaker 8 (02:06:08):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 2 (02:06:09):
Great, and he is responsible for two tonight or three?
Is it three tonight? Three field goals? Three field goals tonight? Yeah?
Speaker 8 (02:06:20):
Right?
Speaker 2 (02:06:20):
Twenty five yard or forty one yarder and none bigger
than that forty yarder he just punched through that could
win this one for the Bulldogs twenty three fourteen.
Speaker 14 (02:06:29):
And you think he's twenty two left, you want to
bet me to eat? Gonna put this in in the zone.
Speaker 2 (02:06:34):
We'll see. Hey, there's central folks heading to the exits. Coach,
there's a squib kick and down at the thirty six
yard line. Lost it for a moment. There did the
central return guy Cordiry Bell, but he comes up with
it to twenty left and the defense comes back out
for opal like and you know Central's gonna be chunking
(02:06:55):
this thing down field.
Speaker 8 (02:06:56):
I got no time outs.
Speaker 9 (02:07:00):
We gotta put we still gotta put pressure.
Speaker 8 (02:07:01):
On this quarterback now. I v am ain't gonna throw
it every down.
Speaker 2 (02:07:06):
We're rushing three Andrew offerd out of the shotgun from
US thirty five drops back throws across picked up by
the Bulldogs. Picked up Tyler Marris, got it, get own son,
get down at the thirty.
Speaker 8 (02:07:19):
Nine ball game, ball game.
Speaker 15 (02:07:25):
Tyler mar picked it off to seal this baby and
rip it up. Yes, shits that Jap, big time interception
and the Dogs can get in the best formation in football, folks.
Speaker 8 (02:07:40):
That is the knee kneel it.
Speaker 2 (02:07:44):
I guess it's the victory formation. But we're gonna take
a knee right.
Speaker 16 (02:07:47):
Coach, Yes, sir, Absolutely, Bulldog fans, We're gonna host a
playoff game here inside Bulldog Stadium here in a few weeks.
Speaker 2 (02:07:57):
Hey Man's Aubern is gonna knock off Carver Montgomery and
this is gonna seal up the number two seed in
this region with this win tonight, folks, how bout that back?
Speaker 8 (02:08:09):
Oh yeah, baby, how sweet it is?
Speaker 2 (02:08:13):
Yes, Sir Toby Keia, work out of the shotgun. Jordan
Waits is the tailbag. No timeouts for the Red Devils,
and Jordan Waits will get the hand off, then hold
that football, sod. He's gonna be brought down at the
thirty nine yard line and the clock will continue to
run now winding under two minutes to go. What a
gutsy performance by this Bulldog team and coach this win tonight.
(02:08:37):
The defense had to make so many plays in this
one tonight. I mean, you hold this Central team to
fourteen points when.
Speaker 8 (02:08:44):
They got it at the forty five six down. Hey,
and we held them.
Speaker 2 (02:08:48):
On fourth down and that interception too late in the
first town. Oh god that the Bulldogs had to come
up with a big stop.
Speaker 9 (02:08:56):
Hey, it's about time to kneel man, he can he
can kneel.
Speaker 2 (02:08:59):
Ere down to one twenty nine, one eight. As the
clock continues to wind down, the Dog's up by nine
here twenty three to fourteen. A game sealing interception by
Tyler Moore and Calvin Hugly gets the snamp runs ahead
to the thirty five and of course Central no time outs,
cannot stop the clock.
Speaker 8 (02:09:18):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
And one o six and I think you just go
to the victory formation here. What a win, Mayor, I
hope hope in Japan it sounded as good as it
looks here in Japan. Oh goodness, Coach More, goanna let
(02:09:43):
this clock whind on down down to forty five, down
to forty four. A reminder, Bulldog fans, you better pack
out Coach Moore's lunch next Wednesday. Yes, as we play
on Thursday next week at Carver Montgomery. Hugly gets the snap,
runs ahead down to the thirty and that'll do it.
(02:10:05):
Been a long time, folks, but the Dogs are going
to the playoffs. And for the first time in school history,
the Bulldogs are headed to the seven eight playoffs and
they're the number two seed in the most difficult region
in the state. Yes, sir, and they made a statement
(02:10:26):
again tonight to the fans across the state that this
Bulldog team is back. Twenty three fourteen the postgame show
on the way next, you're listening to Bulldog football here
on the Kicker we a happy Bulldog stadium. Here, Van
(02:10:50):
Riggs alongside Coach Spence McCracken. Mac McCracken somewhere in the
pile of red and black down on the field as
the Bulldogs win it tonight twenty three to fourteen over
the Central Phoenix City Red Devils and Coach McCracken, what
a gutsy effort by this team tonight. Reees Beasley continues
to be boy. His leg has been huge the past
(02:11:12):
two weeks. As we mentioned, he's kicked six field goals
in the past two weeks and kick three to night
and a beg win a forty one yard or a
twenty five yarder and then the seal of with that
forty yard kick for the middle of the field with
a game really in the balance here in a six
point game to make this a twenty three fourteen score
and Central had no timeouts left. And that is a
(02:11:35):
good talented team. The Bulldogs just defeated. And you go
back the only loss for this team back in week
number three against Auburn in a game where the Bulldogs
were driving late in that game, I had a tip
pass that went for an interception. Yeah, the Bulldogs are
marching down the field there, Coach, we thought we're going
into score and go for two right and have a
(02:11:55):
chance to win that game. And we see what Auburn
has done and they're handling car Montgomery tonight. So with
that win for Auburn tonight, they seal up the region title.
But this win tonight and Auburn's win over Carver gives
the Bulldogs the number two seed in the seven A
Region two, and that will give the Bulldogs a home
game in the playoffs. So here's the deal, coach, I
(02:12:17):
want you to go ahead, and we got to let
Bulldog fans know this, because November eight, here inside Bulldog Stadium,
we're going to have a playoff guest, yes, sir, so amen,
we do know that. So I know somebody has got
to clear their schedule here on November the eighth, and
we'll see just if he can work that out or not.
But you know, folks that make playoff plans, you know
(02:12:39):
we just have to cancel those, yes, sir, amen, and
we'll give the mayor and his crew another chance to
be back here in Cyde Bulldog Stadium. We also missed
Adrian Yachts tonight. He's up in Missouri getting ready to
watch a football game tomorrow.
Speaker 8 (02:12:52):
And so hey, shoot, man, I tell you what there's
so many here.
Speaker 9 (02:12:56):
How about Tyler Moore coming back here playing and mate
and intercepts the one of the biggest interceptions of the
night right there, and our defense holding them at the
forty seven yard line that last time they had the
ball and we picked that one off.
Speaker 8 (02:13:12):
That was that was just incredible.
Speaker 2 (02:13:15):
Mac McCracken, are you somewhere down on the field. I
know where Mack is. Max microphone's warning around, But Junior,
are you down there? We keep all right, man, where yet?
Speaker 12 (02:13:30):
Mac?
Speaker 11 (02:13:30):
I'm down here right by Coach Moore right here on
the fifty yard line.
Speaker 8 (02:13:34):
All right, he's about to address the team.
Speaker 9 (02:13:37):
Okay, okay, all right, Well we got all night.
Speaker 2 (02:13:40):
Our postgame show is presented to you by Jeff coch
Trent Funeral Hall. Need to tell you that. And right
now twenty three fourteen dogs celebrating here on the field
a big nine point We end up for the Bulldogs,
and we are at the postgame show. We'll take a break,
we'll come back with more. Well, of course, Coach Moore
is going to be joining us up here in the booth,
so we'll have an extended visit with him as we
continue on our post game show. After this time out,
(02:14:02):
Dog's a winner over Central twenty three fourteen. You're listening
to Bulldog football here on the kicker back inside a
very happy Bulldog stadium. Opalaika wins it tonight twenty three
to fourteen over Central Phoenix City. Three field goals tonight
(02:14:23):
for Reese Beesley, Jamari Miller with a huge touchdown early
in the first quarter, and of course the ground attack
really got going out of the gate and bowled their
way in for the first score. Then it was Jamary
Miller with a highlight reel, big touchdown reception where he
caught it I think coach right here at the forty
spun around, went to the side lines, and Jamari was
off in the opal like a storm. Down to a
(02:14:44):
seventeen nothing lead in this game, the game kind of
settled down. The next thing you knew it was a
you know, a twenty to seven ball game. And then
next thing you know, in the second half, Central got
that score by midway through the fourth quarter, made this
thing a six point ball game, and we go, boy,
we got to get a drive going, and then what
do we do? We got the got the big interception
(02:15:07):
that led to the at the field gold yard line.
Speaker 9 (02:15:10):
And you know when when they started that drive, we
still didn't have but thirty five yards of total offense
in the second half, and then we picked that ball
off and it was over.
Speaker 2 (02:15:23):
So a fun one here tonight inside Bulldog Stadium, a
lot of fireworks and uh, Mac McCracken is our guy,
Roman somewhere in the midst of everyone, and Mac, can
you kick you with us? I see, I'm with you, man,
Go get a player. Let's go talk to somebody that's happy.
Let us know when you get somebody. Let's go find
Tyler Moore. We need to get Tyler Moore. Tyler right
(02:15:44):
there all right?
Speaker 11 (02:15:45):
You're live with it with the whole city of Opelaika
and everybody in this East Alabama area. Walk us through
the interception and the joy that you brought to you
and your teammates in this city. You know, coach said,
go out there, keep them in, make a play, and
I came up and made a play. You've been with
the You've been with the Dogs for a long time.
(02:16:05):
Ups and downs. Just describe the feeling, because I know
you're captain representing this team. What's the feeling about going
back to the playoffs?
Speaker 8 (02:16:14):
Phil A long time coming, and not only that home.
Speaker 11 (02:16:18):
So I know we got a little business to handle
down at the Bowl Thursday. But what do you want
to tell to the to the Dog nation in the
city of Opalaika listening right now, of what you want,
what you expect from this city the crowd to show
up for that first playoff game. Back at a Bulldog
on bulletdof said to be Pat, it's gonna get an
exciting game.
Speaker 2 (02:16:37):
All right, all right, hey, I like that Mac. Good
job there. Mac. Let us know when you get somebody
else there, what we keep making the rounds and and
grab somebody else, and uh, we're gonna I'm gonna try
to track Mac down on the field here we're in
the post game show twenty three fourteen, Opelaka. He went
over Central Phoenix City as we continue here in the
postgame show, and uh, Mac is is is survey in
(02:17:00):
the field out there looking for some players that there's
a I see I'm trying to find try to point
something out to him. We'll take another break. We'll come
back as Mac McCracken tracks us down another Bulldog right
after this time out twenty three fourteen. A bit later on,
I'll have our visit with coach Brian Moore as our
post game presented by Jeff coche Trant Funeral Home. Here
on the kick. All right, we're back here inside Bulldog
(02:17:26):
Stadium and uh here, in just a few moments, we're
gonna catch up with Calvin Hughley as Mac McCracken is
gonna grab the Bulldog running back who had a big
night again tonight. And Mac, let us know, I got
I gotta, I gotta read on you down there. I'm
seeing Calvin give us a family members some high five
Bulldogs went at twenty three fourteen again over central Phoenix
(02:17:47):
City tonight. Mac, all right, let's talk to big boy.
Speaker 8 (02:17:50):
Let's get him going right here.
Speaker 2 (02:17:51):
Oh, hold on, we got one more, we got one
more song. Calvin's like he's like an autograph show.
Speaker 11 (02:17:56):
He's getting them all He's getting them all around all right,
number six. So Calvin, I want you to describe the
feeling right now that you have going back to the
playoffs somewhere we had been in two years.
Speaker 2 (02:18:09):
Great feeling.
Speaker 17 (02:18:10):
Blenna is a freshman, but it's nothing like the senior
going as a senior last ride.
Speaker 8 (02:18:14):
We got to take it all the way all right.
Speaker 11 (02:18:16):
Now, let's let's just describe this as you being the
running back. I know we came out red hot, right.
Central's a great football team. They made adjustments, they were
able to you know, stuff is pretty good on the run,
but you guys never saw it. Just talk about the
camaraderie of you and your boys on that in that
offensive line and just the unit of the offense.
Speaker 17 (02:18:34):
Uh, pound them, just keep pounding. They'll get tired of
tackle the soon here you jo.
Speaker 11 (02:18:37):
Man, Well you are, how excited are you to be
to be hosted?
Speaker 8 (02:18:40):
Man?
Speaker 2 (02:18:40):
Great?
Speaker 8 (02:18:40):
Great man?
Speaker 17 (02:18:41):
You don't got to lead hometoime fill ad vintage. You
know the crowd gonna come out to show out with us.
Speaker 11 (02:18:45):
I said, well, look, I expect your dad to rall
wrap up a lot of people and bring him the
Bulldog Stadium.
Speaker 8 (02:18:50):
So we packed this sucker out.
Speaker 11 (02:18:51):
All right, Good job, buddy, congratulations.
Speaker 2 (02:18:54):
All right, thank you. Boy didn't get more opalka than
Calvin Hugley coach. You coached his dad. Yes, Bulldog through
and through right there love.
Speaker 8 (02:19:01):
Keon two market. Keon's here, Hi.
Speaker 2 (02:19:05):
He's dancing somewhere, There's no doubt about it. Proud of
his boy, he sure he is all right. Postgame show
rolls on twenty three fourteen O Pelaca winner over a
number two Central Phoenix City. The Dogs will rank eighth
going into this one. I got a feeling they'll be
scooting on up the rankings. But hey, what matters is
the playoffs. The Bulldogs have punched their ticket again with
US win tonight and wrapped up the number two seed
in seven A Region two. We're back after this time out.
(02:19:27):
You're listening to the Bulldog football here on the kitchen, all right,
coming back here Bulldogs Stadium, opolaka Winter tonight, twenty three
fourteen over the Central Red Devils at backmcracking down with
another happy Bulldog down on the field. We got the
birthday boy, and this is Carson mall Strong safety for
(02:19:49):
the Dogs.
Speaker 11 (02:19:50):
Hy Garthy, Happy birthday to you number one, my neighbor, sir.
Speaker 8 (02:19:54):
All right, here we go.
Speaker 11 (02:19:55):
I've asked three Bulldogs this already, or two of them.
I've asked everybody this cuting Coach More, how does it
feel to be going back to the playoffs.
Speaker 8 (02:20:02):
It feels great.
Speaker 13 (02:20:03):
When we started in February, we told ourselves we can
do it. It just was the little things, and Coach
More believed in this and all it took was a
little belief for us to get there, and we got there.
Speaker 11 (02:20:13):
Just describe the feeling of you know, being you know, defensively,
you had to make a stand. I know, y'all, y'all
both rooted for each other, same team, offense, defense, But
the game came down the defensive stops. Huge interceptions right there, turnovers.
Defense made the stop when it needed to be. And
how tight of a unit of y'all.
Speaker 13 (02:20:32):
We trust each other. Anybody can make a play at
any moment. We trust each other and were happy for
each other when our moment come.
Speaker 11 (02:20:39):
All right, Well, this whole city is a static for y'all,
and they're so glad that y'all are going back to
the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (02:20:43):
I know.
Speaker 11 (02:20:44):
We got another game down on the Bowl Thursday. We
ain't gonna overlook Carver. Put down and handle business and
get ready. We're gonna pack this thing out for you,
for you seniors, yes, sir, all right, good luck, go
celebrate with your dogs.
Speaker 2 (02:20:54):
Man, all right, thanks so much. Matt McCracken with a
happy birthday boy Carson Malls, who turned eighteen tonight, and
gotta give d Rock a shout out to coach McCracken.
It's d Rock's birthday tonight too. D doesn't get more
Bulldog than d Rock and d Rock. I tell you what,
anywhere you go around town, Coach McCracken, you know who
(02:21:15):
pops up, don't you. De Rock he's always there, d
Ros He's at middle school game, seventh grade game. So
half birthday there to Bulldog fan d Rock in the
house and is twenty three fourteen a win tonight for
the Bulldogs here inside Bulldog Stadium. We'll continue with our
post game show of course coming up here in just
(02:21:35):
a bit, we'll have our post game visit with coach
Brian Moore. But more on the way next our post
game show presented to you by Jeff Coach Trentt Funeral Home.
You're listening to Bulldog football here on the killow. Continuing
here on our postgame show where it's an ecstatic Bulldog Stadium,
still fans out on the field celebrating this twenty three
fourteen open like a win over Central Phoenix City tonight,
(02:21:57):
and we'll head down on the field as we continue
visiting with players. Make McCracken's got big forty four ty
hudgshon and also Brody Jones down on the field and
tell them, hey, may Mac coach is listening to go ahead.
Speaker 11 (02:22:12):
Good deal, good deal, Hey Tye, Brody, got both of
you all together here. Tie defensively, just came up big,
tough game. New Central was gonna give it all. You
took the Dogs to the first playoff in two years.
Just describe that field, you know.
Speaker 12 (02:22:29):
I'm just I'm just really proud of proud of our guys.
You know, we've come so far since the summer and
though those long days. You know, it's just it's really
nice to see it all come together, you know, because
the coach law I say that they have a plan
for us, but early on in the season it's hard
to see that. But right now it's all coming together,
and it's just it's just really great to see.
Speaker 8 (02:22:47):
All Right.
Speaker 11 (02:22:47):
Brody, Offensively, you're one of our fear fighters on the
team that just likes to get in faces of opponents
and just keep it going.
Speaker 8 (02:22:55):
But you bring the dog bite, you know what I'm saying.
You bring it every Friday night.
Speaker 11 (02:22:58):
Just describe the joy on the off offensive side and
just the unit of the city of Opalakuad going back
to play.
Speaker 18 (02:23:04):
I'm really proud of our guys on offense. All O
line work their tail off all all week and and
through today. Our receivers blocked very well. Jamari Miller maybe
is definitely the best receiver in the state. There's nobody
else I'd rather take over him. And this joy is
just it's just a different feeling. We're not very used
to it. We haven't been used to it the past
two years. But but we're we're getting back on track.
(02:23:24):
And this ain't on thought, This ain't this ain't the
last thought.
Speaker 11 (02:23:26):
I was just about to say that you guys are
setting the tone for those younger dogs and like, hey,
we're there now.
Speaker 8 (02:23:32):
We ain't going back. Y'all gonna have fun. Just celebrate
with you dogs.
Speaker 2 (02:23:36):
Hey, mac real quick, Matt get tired real quick, because
Coach McCracken wants to ask you one. I want to
ask Tyle one quick question. This could be dangerous, Uy,
what a game?
Speaker 6 (02:23:45):
Man?
Speaker 9 (02:23:46):
I told you that first day I met you with
all that red hair. I said, Man, this guy, hey,
you you know what you need to do too. You
need to go home and celebrate with all your sisters.
Speaker 12 (02:23:57):
Sir.
Speaker 8 (02:23:57):
You know what I man, You're the only boy in
the family, aren't you.
Speaker 12 (02:24:01):
Oh no, sir, I actually have three brothers and four sisters.
Speaker 8 (02:24:03):
Oh golly, that that is awesome.
Speaker 2 (02:24:06):
That is that was a little off. Coach.
Speaker 9 (02:24:08):
Hey, you tell Tyler Moore that we're real proud of
him to come back in the game the.
Speaker 8 (02:24:13):
Way he did.
Speaker 12 (02:24:14):
Yes, sir, I will, I will.
Speaker 2 (02:24:15):
I'm very proud of him too.
Speaker 8 (02:24:16):
Yes, sir, great, great job man, congratulations.
Speaker 2 (02:24:19):
Thank you, Hey, thanks, thanks time. All right, Hey, coach
Moore is in the booth with us, and hey, you guys,
saund real good there. I think they got they got
a career in media, and hey, hopefully they do more
of these postgame media deals.
Speaker 7 (02:24:31):
That was awesome. Yeah, shoot, I just love hearing them.
Speaker 10 (02:24:33):
Man.
Speaker 6 (02:24:33):
That's what this thing is about. You know, It's about them.
It's about the work that they put in, Uh, you know,
our whole program. You know, I saw an incredibly excited
principal Kelly Fisher. You know, is it just you know,
just like I said last week, you know, these things
are so important for your school in the in the
and how you know the morale of your school.
Speaker 7 (02:24:55):
I just can't I can't describe it unless you walk
the halls, you.
Speaker 2 (02:24:58):
Know, Well, we were talking about this before the game.
I went down there and was talking to you about
the playoff scenarios. This this game was huge, huge. I mean,
if you lose this, you've got to go down to
and almost win a must win game against the Carver team.
That's tricky. Yeah, and uh, and you don't want to
be in that situation. And I told you before I
walked off, I said, coach, don't matter because we're gona
win to night, has no doubt.
Speaker 6 (02:25:17):
And uh, just so proud of the start that we
had and the way that we ran the football early
and uh, guy led defensively, we just played so well.
Speaker 7 (02:25:26):
You know, the two really three I think pivotal moments defensively.
Speaker 6 (02:25:29):
One was a fourth down stop obviously at midfield, massive
play Keevian Keevan that reception incredible, Yeah, incredible stop, you know,
and our guys were running to the football, so Kevian
didn't get on the ground, but other guys were running
to it and they couldn't. And that's an SEC player
or Miami commit whatever over there. And then that Kevian
gets the interception and then Tyler Moore, I mean just
the interception to seal it.
Speaker 7 (02:25:50):
Uh, you know, just so.
Speaker 6 (02:25:52):
Proud for Tyler, like coach said, just you know, came
back in the game, had a little knee deal, but
so just I pray for Tyler man.
Speaker 7 (02:25:58):
And that knee because he's just been through so much
and just just so happy for him that it happened.
You know, we got incredible kids like this program.
Speaker 6 (02:26:06):
Coach gets to interview them, like we have like high character,
great kids here that like I would take to my house,
you know and be around my children, like they're just
great people and and good things happen to good people people.
Speaker 2 (02:26:19):
Right, Tyler intercepted that ball.
Speaker 6 (02:26:21):
I don't know if you were like me, I'm going
to get down down, no doubt, Please hold onto the bus.
Speaker 2 (02:26:26):
And but it was I know he was seeing that
Bulldogs and the end zone over there, and he's thinking, boy,
I've missed so much football. I'm ready to go. But
how about Rhys Beasley? Though six field goals in the
past two games, and none bigger than that forty yarder
he put through the uprights.
Speaker 6 (02:26:40):
But you know it was the body of work the
five before that led to the decision to kick the
sixth one. Yeah, that I felt confident in our front people.
I felt confident in our operation, but you know with
our snapper.
Speaker 2 (02:26:51):
Yeah, because you got to worry about that. I mean,
last time we played them, remember coach, and they blocked
a field goal, wined in regulation. We had to do
it in overtime again and then and they so anytime
you got big guys like that, you worry about that well.
Speaker 6 (02:27:02):
And then they run the waldroup kid the left tackle
goes out there to block it. I don't know if
y'all saw it.
Speaker 8 (02:27:06):
I saw him. He looks like a giant coach.
Speaker 7 (02:27:08):
He is at Alabama left tackle. I mean he's gonna
be yeah. And he ran out there and I just said, hey,
we called the time out.
Speaker 6 (02:27:14):
We try to draw him, and in the huddle, I said, hey,
whatever you do, grab grass and stay down baby.
Speaker 7 (02:27:19):
You know, don't let these guys block this thing.
Speaker 6 (02:27:21):
A great operation, but you got Brodie Jones holding it,
you got Epperson snapping it, both seniors and then Reese
has just been great. So proud of Reese and proud
of you know, all of our special teams that thought
we dominated that face tonight. We are kick off coverage
was outstanding tonight, Really a lot of pin inside of
twenty Grease kicked it really well.
Speaker 7 (02:27:37):
Again, just proud of our whole time.
Speaker 2 (02:27:39):
Henderson again booming those puns too.
Speaker 6 (02:27:41):
Yeah, man, I'm talking and we've challenged I because I
had practice. Man, he can kick that thing seventy yards
in the air.
Speaker 2 (02:27:47):
And you got to come out here when you hadn't
punted it the whole first half too, and you got
to come out here with almost a nice cold. I
know he's been warming up on the sideline, but still
it's it's a little chilly night and to boom, what
a forty something yard punt.
Speaker 6 (02:27:57):
Well, I've never seen a kid get so excited about
a punt. And I love that because that's his role.
That's his job on this team, and he plays a
massive role. You couldn't ask for a better kid. He
really flipped the field tonight.
Speaker 2 (02:28:10):
How about the answer from your guys on that last
drive when they needed to run the football and Calvin
gets the bigger run. It was almost like when he
wanted to flip the switch. It was like, let's flip
the switch.
Speaker 8 (02:28:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (02:28:19):
I told him again.
Speaker 6 (02:28:20):
You know, I told him the same thing before the
game at allver and I said, man, you'd be the
best player on the field tonight. I said, you got
to play like it it's time, you know, because Calvin's
like that, like just you know, he has to flip
that switch, you're right, And he did and great blocking
on that left side, ran behind treymont Thomas, you know,
and kind of stayed behind him all night.
Speaker 7 (02:28:36):
And you know, we didn't run a great in the
second half. But they have a lot to do with that.
Speaker 6 (02:28:40):
I mean, they got sec guys up there too, you know,
and so they really got some stops.
Speaker 7 (02:28:44):
But I was proud of us finishing the game with
the football.
Speaker 2 (02:28:46):
Well that's got to be a confident I'm sorry, coach,
but I know it's gonna be a confidence builder for
your guys going you know, you got to Carver next week.
But even going into the playoffs, because I don't think
you're going to play a better team in the playoffs
than we've already played.
Speaker 6 (02:28:59):
No, I mean, I don't know what the Birmingham region
is like, and and and so you know, anyway, there's
there's a lot of work. But I will say that
our region this is I knew what I was getting into,
but it's even it's even more challenging than I could
ever imagined. Like with the emergence of car and now
the reemergence of Opulaika. I mean, this region is we
(02:29:23):
and I mean you've got great football teams that are
going to be at home and uh and you know
it's it's it's uh, it's been fun.
Speaker 7 (02:29:29):
But you're right, man.
Speaker 6 (02:29:30):
What it does to you is you've played the best
teams in the state right now in my opinion, and uh,
you know, and and I think we're one of those.
Speaker 7 (02:29:36):
So it'll be fun. It'll be a fun ride down
the stretch.
Speaker 8 (02:29:39):
Bruan your dls and d ns.
Speaker 9 (02:29:42):
The last two series is you brought that pressure on
that quarterback and he got the ball off, but it
was like, oh no, I mean it was right when
he releases, right, you got your pressure on him.
Speaker 8 (02:29:58):
And uh, I thought they did a job.
Speaker 9 (02:30:00):
I think that that pressure helped on the interceptions, but
uh they really laid it on the line.
Speaker 7 (02:30:08):
They did.
Speaker 6 (02:30:09):
And we we really you know, we talked all week
about a snap count, you know what it needed to
be and uh I called it, uh stakes for snaps
and uh so Sunday we're gonna eat real good. But
we had to snap it sixty times and at this point,
I don't really care how many we snapped it, but
in the first half we had a thirty two and
we were able to stay off.
Speaker 7 (02:30:27):
The field defense. We show that at the end.
Speaker 6 (02:30:29):
So that's the right people need to understand, is at
the end we're not fatigued where we can't get past rush.
It's all about the rotations. It's all about, you know,
keeping our guys fresh. And you know, I thought Coach
Highway and Coach Prescott did a great job of subbing
those guys. And even on the back, you man, he
saw Norman Matthews had a huge tackle for loss. Yes,
huge emergence of him. Leland played a lot. You know,
Carson played extremely well, So we continue to sub. Exavier
(02:30:51):
Thomas played in the back and almost picked one off
down here on our sideline risk. He almost picked it in.
Xavierybody's to play every time he's in the game.
Speaker 2 (02:30:58):
They you know, the guys talk to some of the players.
They said, he's one of the hardest hitting guys on
the team.
Speaker 7 (02:31:02):
He weighs about a buck sixty and he will come
up and just rock your world.
Speaker 2 (02:31:05):
Because I thought it was a clean hit last week.
You know, he got the flag on him. Man and
I went back what said over and over again. But anyway,
how do you approach this week?
Speaker 7 (02:31:12):
Coach?
Speaker 2 (02:31:12):
Short turn around? You got to play on Thursday. I
know you're going into Sunday like it's Monday, and it's
gonna be a different week.
Speaker 7 (02:31:18):
Yeah, we have an extended Sunday. You know, we're still
going to take tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (02:31:21):
You know, originally I talked about coming in and working tomorrow,
but golly, we need we need these twenty four hours,
especially after this big.
Speaker 2 (02:31:27):
Win, and you probably do too.
Speaker 12 (02:31:29):
I do.
Speaker 18 (02:31:29):
I do.
Speaker 6 (02:31:30):
I'm ready to get home, you know, and and see
my wife and family. You know, it's just as a
special moment because we do this together. You know, our
whole family's just completely invested in this thing.
Speaker 2 (02:31:39):
And this goes back to when you moved and we're
in limbo for the whole year almost, and I mean
it felt like a year. It was a half a year,
but it's I know, it felt like the longest.
Speaker 6 (02:31:48):
Five months of my life being away. I can I
can assure you of that. So but you know, just
proud of them. But but yeah, we'll come in Sunday.
We'll extend an hour with the kids so that we
can get some scout walk through stuff so we can
get prepared mentally. Car is not super complicated in what
they do, but they're really good at it, like they
don't have to be because of their dudes. They got
sec guys running everywhere. This will be the best skill
(02:32:09):
that we've seen all year. It's I'll be honests, not
even closed. They have long skill guys.
Speaker 7 (02:32:13):
But we need to win.
Speaker 6 (02:32:14):
Like I've had people ask me, like, how do we
approach this game Thursday? We need to win the game,
keep rolling this this thing. I just don't believe in that.
I don't believe in resting guys, I don't believe we
have a bye week the following week. We need to
keep the hammer down right here and go play a
great team on the road, a really athletic team. Uh
and and just keep the thing rolling and get to
the bye week and then we can relax a little
(02:32:35):
bit in the bye week. And we need that, and
we've got some team things that we're gonna do that week,
and then thank goodness, will be at Bulldog Stadium again.
I told the seniors, every one of them as I
was walked to that line, I said, we're gonna play
another game in the stadium. I said this ain't goodbye
to all their mamas and daddies, and said, this is
not goodbye to this stadium.
Speaker 7 (02:32:48):
We're going to find a way to play here. And
they've done that.
Speaker 2 (02:32:51):
Coach, congratulations. I'm sorry.
Speaker 11 (02:32:55):
So I spent all my time down there with you
and those boys, and you know Van and Da or
more the XS than those guys and all that.
Speaker 8 (02:33:03):
I wanted to tell you when that game.
Speaker 11 (02:33:05):
You know, you know when we talked at halftime, and
you knew coach Nick's super coach, that's a great team,
state champion defending, so you knew what we were going
to come out the second half. But I tell you this, Brian,
you know you're preaching about to turn around. You're preaching
about you know, the next team, the next team, you know,
just to build the foundation, real bit of the program
and everything.
Speaker 9 (02:33:24):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (02:33:24):
I interviewed about five or six of your kids after
the game, and I know you got to hear Ty
and Brody, but I got Calvin in there, Carson in
there and just asked them about the joy of Opulaca
for these kids to be back in the playoffs, and Coach,
none of them are selfish. They threw they talked about
the city, They talked about the brotherhood and how much
(02:33:45):
it means. And when all the downtime was going and
the bad things were happening on that sideline, I was
walking up and down.
Speaker 8 (02:33:53):
And they want to blame going on, it was we're
gonna win the game.
Speaker 11 (02:33:58):
We're gonna win the game. And you know we talked
about last week winning bringing winning. When good things happen,
you see it just trickled a pick another pick. It
just takes over and you can just see this thing
starting to turn and the belief and a great crowd.
They turned around and saw them. They were standing up.
The band was the band was going off on four
downand they were standing up and.
Speaker 2 (02:34:18):
This when you horse, Yeah, it's a good sacle.
Speaker 8 (02:34:22):
I mean you know you knew, Hey, you knew we
tore the roof off this thing.
Speaker 11 (02:34:25):
So, uh, the city is behind these kids and this
coaching staff.
Speaker 8 (02:34:31):
And like you said, go in Thursday, keep keep the
train going.
Speaker 6 (02:34:35):
Well, like like Jason said, I don't know that I've
ever heard it as loud as it was on that
pick for Tyler. It was incredibly loud and just just
really you know, unbelievable. But you're right, Mac. Like, there's
a lot of self belief right now in our players,
and they just believe that good things are gonna happen.
That you know that you're right, We're gonna play the
next play and find a way to get a pick
or to turn out a first down like Calvin did
(02:34:57):
to finish this ball game, or hit a field goal
like you know, they just believe in each other. This
is a very connected group. I use that word a lot.
We're very connected regardless of our grades, you know, but
we've all worked really hard at that. Our coaches feed them, man,
all the time. They bring groups to their home like
we've been to homes like we. Coach comes and talks
to groups like That's what connection feels like, and that's
(02:35:18):
when you.
Speaker 7 (02:35:19):
Have that belief in each other. So really proud of
our kids.
Speaker 9 (02:35:21):
Man.
Speaker 7 (02:35:22):
This is just the beginning, you know, This is not
the end to our season.
Speaker 6 (02:35:25):
There's a lot of time left and games left, and
I'm just excited to be a Dog again and just
thankful for this city and the opportunity I have to
lead this program.
Speaker 2 (02:35:32):
All right, congratulations coach, thanks so much. Thanks Right, that's
