Land Grew No Let's end in theStadium for tonight's coverage of Opelaca High School
football with coach Spence mccrackhead Mac mccrackeadand the voice of the Bulldogs vand Riggs.
Well the Open LACA Bulldogs Final willget to put total leather at the
Friendly confines a Bulldog Stadium tonight asthe Dogs will get a brief break from

(01:29):
the road as they welcome in thePercy Julian Phoenix formerly Robert E. Lee.
The Dogs enter tonight one and oneon the season, but more importantly
start one and oh in region playafter a big Thurstay win last week over
Montgomery's I'm another Montgomery team that theJack Jaguars formerly Jeff Davis any winner reading
seventy Region to a big win thoughbecause they spot in the playoffs of this

(01:51):
region, as the Dogs found outlast year, is far from automatic.
We welcome you to Bulldogs Stadium.I vand Riggs joined the last side Coach
Spence McCracken mac mccrack on me joiningus down on the field, coming up
here in just a bit, andwe welcome you to the pregame show presented
to you by Frederick Dean at FuneralHome. Last week. Roman Gagliano,
the star of the offense, thesenior quarterback through for two hundred and thirty

(02:12):
eight yards, three touchdowns, includinga forty nine yarder, and with brother
drew out his go to target. In Week one, Gagliano hooked up with
Jamari Miller ten times for one hundredand seven yards and a score. Jordan
Tolbert also had five grams, onehundred and six yards and two touchdowns.
Calvin Huglick. Kind of a quietnight last week. Bulldogs didn't have to
rely on the run game. Butthat'll change down the stretch. We know

(02:34):
when we come back. We'll continuewith our pregame show presented to you by
Frederick Dean Funeral Home. You're listingNope, like a Bulldog football right here
on ninety seven point seven Kicker FM. Back here Bulldogs Stadium. The Cheer
Kitty Camp participants are performing here atBulldog Stadium. Coach McCracken, you got
a granddaughter. I've got a daughterout there, so we're both getting to
enjoy this tonight. Yeah, Iwas looking for four five there. You

(02:58):
point him out to me in minute. Yeah, well, I can tell
you this. Josie is the onethat's kind of catching up with everybody.
She was a little under the weatherback during the actual camp and was unable
to attend, so she kind ofwas getting the crash course here tonight.
All right, Percy Julian comes informerly known to Minims Roberty Lee. They
still have the general uniforms on.I believe the cheerleaders do have the new

(03:19):
colors orange and blue. They've gotthe Percy Julian uniforms as both schools Dead
of Montgomery going through name changes. We faced Jag last week. Percy Julian
here tonight. Coach. When youlook at this team, they don't have
a lot of numbers. They're verysmall in numbers, only about forty or
so making the trip over here. But they've got some big guys on this
offensive line. Depth I know willbe an issue for them down the stretch
in this ball game. I nocoach Speakman probably just wants to lean on

(03:43):
this run game as much as hecan and early on and try to take
the big lead and give him takeaway. Any hope of these these guys
that they can hang in the ballgame here. Yeah, Well, they
they started out decent against Gophin lastweek and then Dophin ran away from him
in the second half. So you'reI think I counted forty seven forty eight
on the roster for Percy Julian. But anyway, I'm looking forward to a

(04:11):
great game tonight. I hope,I hope we can just come out and
take care of business. Run thefootball. That is one thing that we
have not really really been doing realgood at and I hopefully Eric can get
these offensive linemen playing a little bitbetter where we can get a run game
going. Hey, you ain't gotto worry about the throwing game. Roman

(04:32):
throwing the ball all over the Phillyout one hundred and ninety five yards at
halftime last week and really didn't haveto throw much into second half. But
the defense really really played well lastweek against the run against the jag So
hey, hopefully we can do thesame thing. I want to see our
kicking game improved tonight though, especiallyour punt returns, our kickoffs, and

(04:58):
our kickoff returns baying, because hey, when we get into these playing against
these real good teams, and Iconsider this, every team we play is
good. If they line up andplay high school football, you lose the
kicking game. You lose one thirdof the game. And it's a if
the kicking game is all about fieldposition, and in whoever wins field position

(05:19):
usually wins the game. So let'ssee what happens ought to be a good
one. I'm glad you brought thatup the kicking department because coach Speakman talks
a little bit about that. I'mcoming up here in just a bit when
we visit with him our pregame showpresented to you by Frederick Dean Funeral Home.
That visit with coach Eric Speakman comingup on the way next. As
we continue here in the pregame showpresented to you by Frederick Dean Funeral Home,

(05:40):
you're listening to Bulldog Football here onthe Kicker, our coverage of obla
A High school football on ninety sevenpoint seven. Kicker fim continues with a
pregame visit with head coach Eric Speakmanpresented by South State Bank. Now with
coach Eric Speakman years Fan Riggs. Finally here, the friendly con finds a
Bulldog Stadium businm head coach Eric Speakman. A right, coach, I know
that's the thing. Well, it'sgood to be here at home, right.

(06:01):
It is good to be back hereat Bulldog Stadium, playing in front
of the home crowd. After twoweeks on the road, it seemed like
the home field was cramped a bowlthere two weeks in a row. You
don't have that very often, butyou kind of keep the same routine.
Now some of the guys have tofigure out what it's like to play at
home. Some guys have never playedhere at home as a varsity athlete.
And for some of these guys,I know, this will be their last
season opening game here a Bulldog stadium. Yeah it is. You know,

(06:24):
we talked about that with the seniorsthe other day about how fast this season's
already going and how you know youright now you've got eight more games guaranteed,
and so we've got to play wellin each one of those and that
starts tonight against Percy Julian. Allright, coach, what have you learned
about your team? Let's start onoffense. I know, Roman gagn Io
another big week last week. Youknow you can throw it through the air.

(06:45):
Run game has been there too. What are some things though you'd like
to see cleaned up after the firstcouple of weeks, Just staying on blocks.
You know, we still had somepenalties last week that we've got to
get corrected, as we would keepyou know, playing each week. We
can't keep making the same mistakes andwhich we're able to throw the ball.
Last week a good bit Roman throughfor two hundred and thirty eight yards.
It really would have had almost threehundred and had we not dropped two different

(07:05):
uh we had two drops that wouldhave been really big plays. One would
have been a touchdown, the othermight have been a touchdown. So Roman
played really well last week. JordanTilbert and uh Jamari Miller had big games
last week. Both had over ahundred yards receiving. So we looked to
continue to do that and get theball out in space to those guys and
let them make plays and then keephanding the ball off to Calvin and you

(07:29):
know, keep watching him as theoffensive linement getting has been getting better each
week, so hopefully that will continuetonight. You've got a lot of guys
in there to get some carries too, I know, to take some pressure
off Calvin. I know that's big. Yeah, it's a long year.
You know, you can't just youknow, keep giving the same guy,
especially in seven eight football, sixeight and seven eight football, it's hard
to give a guy, you know, thirty plus carries in a game because

(07:50):
of the beating that they take eachweek. So it helps to have Jordan
Waits in there, Javon Williams uh, you know, with Monte Richardson with
a few harries and just you know, giving guys, you know, the
ball in the backfield in a differentway and giving Calvin a break offensively.
How are you healthy wise? Iknow you held out Drew Gangliano last week.

(08:11):
How's he doing? How's the teamoverall? Yeah, Drew's better,
He's uh. He had a shoulderthat he injured in the Thompson game on
a kickoff return, so we heldhim out last week. And and then
our backup quarterback Tyler Johnson's been outwith a broken finger, so we expect
to get him back probably next week. So other than those two guys were
healthy and ready to go visit headcoach Jerk Speton. We'll take a quick

(08:31):
break, we'll come back and we'llpreview Percy Julie and as we get ready
for the home and open to heara Bulldog stadium. If you're listening to
Bulldog football here on the kicker, you were listening to open like a high
school football here on ninety seven pointseven kicker FM. No, it's time

(08:52):
for Coach Spence mccrackens the game presendedby Glenn Smith Chevrolet GMC and ope getting
ready to smile all right, Timefor those Keys to the game. Coach
McCracken. Dogs are one and one. What do they have to do to
improve the two and one on theseason? Well, Van, let's pick
it up right where we left offlast week. Let's get our running game

(09:13):
going. We gotta be able torun the ball averaging around four yards to
carry, and we also need tomake some big plays with the running game.
And then I know Romans gonna throwthe ball well and we'll catch the
ball. Well, let's get thatrunning game going. And then I want
us to improve on our kicking game, especially punt returns and kickoff returns and

(09:39):
kickoffs where we can get a betterat some better field position in these ball
games, because even against the Jagslast week, we had some trouble with
field position and it kept them inthe game, you know, for quite
a period of time. So thoseare the big three things. And of
course no turnovers by the Dogs. Are you go? Keys to the game

(10:01):
tonight brought to you by Glenn SmithChevrolet and GMC and Opelika eggs at sixty
two off of I eighty five.Get ready to smile. We come back.
We'll have your game conditions, yourcoin toss gets You're ready for kickoff
of a game at number three ofthis twenty twenty three season. It's Opelike
and Percy Julian coming up all theway next, as we continue with our
pregame show, which is presented toyou by Frederick Dean Funeral Half. Welcome

(10:30):
back here to Bulldog Stadium Band Riggsalongside Coach Spence mccracking Mac mccracking roaming those
sidelines tonight in our first four seasons. Federal Credit Union sideline report comes right
now, we'll head down on thefield. Mac. What was the message
from coach speakman in the locker room? Hey, guys, it was he
was fired up man, The kidswere fired up. He said, look,
bring it all for Opelake. Hesaid, you got a packed out
crowd over here for you, foryour city, represent that name across your

(10:54):
chest, do it for everybody hereand have fun. You know, he
just keeps preaching about having fun, having fun, and he wants to get
a fast start here and see ifwe get something going offensively and defensively and
really play good sound football tonight, which I think we will. And it
is a great Hey, I knowyou did. I think Eddio announced the
weather and all that. It isa beautiful night for football and it's great

(11:16):
to be back here at Bulldog Stadium. Monk tell you that, I'm glad
you brought that up, Matt, because it is time for our game.
Conditions brought to you by a firstBaptist Church of Opalaca, proud to support
opal Laca schools. If you can'tmake it to church, listen to the
entire worship service every Sunday at elevenam. Right here on the kicker.
And that is right Mac McCracken's seventynine right now, and I feel like
temperature of seventy nine. I thinkwe will probably get down somewhere in the

(11:39):
maybe mid to upper seventies by thetime this thing gets rolling here in the
first quarter. So couldn't ask fora better at night of football, that
is certainly for sure. And coatsof Bulldogs have taken the field. They've
got their brand new red uniforms onthis season, got a brand new red
uniform. They look really good asthey come out light numbers outlined in black.

(12:01):
They'll have the silver pants with ared uh strike down the side,
and of course the traditional openaka helmets. Boy, this defense, Coach,
we talked a little bit about it, you know, with coach speakman,
but this defensive line has been sooverpowering. They were really good against one
of the best teams in the state, one of the best teams in the
South, and Thompson in Week onegot Warren down there in the passing game
really got going, which pulled themaway late second half. Last week,

(12:24):
though, coachs this defensive line dominatedthe trenches and gave jag no chance to
throw the football or really to getanything going offensively. And that starts up
front with the guys like Malik Aultry, you got him, Mark Smiley,
you Ky of light footing, AllenJackson, those four across the front up
there. No team on the schedulewants to face those guys. Kyle.
I didn't see U. I didn'tsee any of our defensive guys last year

(12:48):
dominate like our front did this year. It's just done incredible and I'm looking
forward to a great game tonight.I look down there in the stands,
I see Bill McManus, old defensivecoordinator and quite cider with me at Auburn
and they's like, hey, thisplace is packed tonight. And we got
a full crowd tonight and it wasso good to see the cheerleaders. Uh,

(13:11):
three of my two of my grandchildrenand uh, let's get ready for
a big night of football. Andshe had been an exciting when Corey Grant
on the Jumbo trine right now witha hYP video that I got a chance
to sneak peak earlier this week. And folks, this is going to bring
a Bulldog Stadium on their feet herein just a few minutes, as you

(13:31):
may can listen in a little bithere to it a way to kick is
off a central Phoenix city win highlight. There's no better place to be than
here on a Friday night in BulldogStable. Now standing job here and let's

(13:54):
say share the crowd get up hereafter this one, ready, go oh
yes, good to see the jumbotryn hanging in there. Coach. We
got one more year with this one. The next year, of course,
a brand new Jumbo Tron will becoming and a new turf, new lighting

(14:15):
here at Bulldog Stating with a gameday atmosphere. It will certainly be next
year, and good to see that. What a great guy to do that
to Corey Grea just one of myall time favorites. Man. That was
sensational. Yeah, he did anoutstanding job on that for Auburn University fans
that got a chance to see willHerring former open like a bulldog. He

(14:35):
did the hype video last year forAuburn University and Opelika kind of did a
nice little job of kind of mimickingthat one. But a great hype video
and fans, if you have notcame out, of course, this is
the first home game. Plenty moreto come to. But if you did
not get a chance to make it, you're listening to us, maybe out
there, get ready and come outand get a chance to see that one
up close. It's really good. All right, let's time for our coin

(14:56):
toss. That's brought to you byReynolds Outdoors locally on hunting, fishing,
archer An Outdoor store, take careof all your outdoor sporting nats. Reynolds
Outdoors off Geneva Street and Opeaco.I didn't know anyway, if he must
be mad, you would be Yonfire for Nive games. How must manage?
Gonna be you rest reference for that. So we'll look at y'all the
cafe things keep for everybody under control. Okay, way out here to play

(15:20):
football down our way out here fasOkay that we'll help out on that.
It is a good deal. Andon that you call it the end.
Visitor things white is heads, bluetailor, boy, he make the golf
see they called tails. Okay,it is heads. Do you want to
talk? He would defer, andit's man will defer. All right.

(15:41):
Another win for the Bulldogs there withthe coin toss. So a nice job.
They're mc mccracking at the middle ofthe field with that coin toss.
Quinn Edwards a captain for the Bulldogs. Cavante, Carter Raqavan Howell and Tony
Ingram captains for the open Likeca Bulldogs. Dogs win the toss. Sae and
ope like has deferred to the secondhalf, so we'll see that Dog defense
get to chump their bite down onthis Phoenix offense, says, we get

(16:07):
ready for kickoff before we take ourfinal pregame break, will Paul's ten seconds
for station identification back here Bulldogs Stadiumjust about ready to kick things off tonight
between Opelika and Percy Julian Van Ringsa last side coach Spence mccrackett mc mccrackett

(16:29):
on the sidelines Johnny Sassena, hewill be kicking things off for the Bulldogs.
Did not like the ball that wasout, tosses it to the sidelines
and we'll get a new football forJohnny. Our first quarter brought to you
by Ellen m pont and Gun,your go to stop for great reliable guns.
They carry handguns, shot guns, rifles, as well as all other
accessories you could want. Ellen mpont and Gun open Monday through Saturday from

(16:49):
nine am to six pm. Attwenty twenty Fox Runt Avenue in Opelika,
Sassina has a teed up from theforty Dogs will kick from left to right
and Percy Julie will be waiting toreceive this kick. Johnny needs to get
a good one now. One willbe consistent with our kickoffs. So Johnny

(17:11):
wakes for the official, the headofficial in the end zone to blow his
whistle and we're just about ready togo seven oh one our kickoff time.
As Assina puts total leather and skinover in kick and that goes into the
end zone and that will be atouchbacks that we're underway. That's the first
one we've had that deep. Youknow, that heat drilled that one.

(17:33):
Defensively, Alan Jackson, Jaki Lightfoot, Malik Autrey, marsh Smiley. Up
front, Kaden Harrison, Jackson Kilchristhe backers Uh Devin Dixon and Cord Ingram.
The corners your strong safety as CarsonMoss. Your two safeties are Tyrese
Pitts and cove Anti White. Herecome the Dogs, and you're right,

(17:59):
that defensive front's going to be thekey to this whole thing. All right.
Quarterback for the Generals, Bryson McGrew. Work out a shotgun. He's
got two receivers right, he'll dropback, wants to throw. Took a
shot from Jackson, kill Crease.Let it fly high, intended for Jacoby
Jackson at the forty three yard lineand it falls incomplete. That time kill
Crease was really bringing the heat.Yeah, I had had a hand right

(18:21):
up. I saw that two Vangood pressure, good pressure. Good way
to start first five minutes of thegame. Van crucial always he is two
receivers right, single receiver here tothe nearest side of the Generals. They

(18:42):
will be second down and ten againfrom the twenty yard line. They'll try
run play left side, got ahold twenty five thirty down the sidelines across
the forty it's a first down forthe General's tailback at his number two,
Javerian Rogers. He's a senior fivesix one eighty five and he gets all
all the way to the forty threeyard line and that's a twenty three yard

(19:03):
running a first down for the Generals. Yeah, that's a big play.
That's bad. That's bad, badfootball by our front and our linebackers over
on this side. Gotta do betterthan net all right. The Phoenix have
three receivers out and to the righta single receiver here to the near side.
This time Rodgers rolls right, dumpsit off out of the backfield to
Jackson and he gets up and downthe forty five yard line. Be a

(19:26):
pickup of two yards. Not muchthere, and this will be a second
down and eight coming up here forPercy Julian. As we're just underway here,
first quarter from Bulldog Stadium, Soten at fifty three remaining, and

(19:48):
this will be a time out onthe field here or maybe an injury time
out. Not sure who's going atthe there's nobody going over to the far
hass that's where that's where they're supposedto be. I don't know what that
was all about. I have noidea second down to eight play as we're

(20:12):
back to resume, I'm not surewhat the stoppage there was. But three
receivers of the left side run tothe right and nobody there. There's a
stop by the Bulldogs. Right inthat pile was Malik Caultry, number ninety
six, bringing them down for aloss of two maybe three yards. It'll
be a third down and it lookslike eleven coming up here for the Phoenix.

(20:32):
Good job ten to twenty five remaininghere in this opening quarter of play,
and it will be a third andeleven the last third down. The
General's got a got a big run. Here's your here's your third down conversion,
third and eleven, and I'm gonnago back and forth with Generals and
Phoenix tonight. And they still havethe general uniforms on, so it does
get a little confusing here tonight.Third down play and eleven four, Percy

(20:56):
Julian. They'll dump a screen passoff and read nicely there by the Bulldog,
stopped in his tracks by the Bulldogs. Number twenty three coming up with
a stop for the Dogs, andthat was Carson Moss, a junior defensive
back, coming up and making thatstop. That dawn he lost a yard.
That was a screen. They everybodyrushed at quarterback. He dumped it

(21:17):
off and Moss came up and madea great play. That's your strong safety.
That's where he's supposed to be.All right, Let's see if we
can get a punt return now.So nine to twenty eight clock running here
in the first quarter, and thereis a punt by John Holman and the
Dogs trial the forty five yard lineand there's a scramble for the football and

(21:41):
I believe hope Alika was able tocome up with it and the Dogs did.
That was a saving play there bynumber thirty seven Tony Ingram and the
Dogs special teams woes continue. Likeyou said, coach mccracket, not good
goodness. Nine seventeen is we're underway here in the first quarter, and

(22:02):
this will be first down in tenat four Opelaika and after that near muff
they're on the punt. It willbe Dogs from the thirty seven yard line.
Good job defensively, everything but thatpart return. So Dogs were there
on thirty seven yard line and afirst down play, they'll move a man

(22:22):
in motion from right to left. You've off in the backfield. Here is
huge Lee tiptoe and through the fortyfive Hugle spends his way up close to
midfield. They're gonna mark him downat the forty nine yard line. There's
a twelve yard run and a Lamberttransfer and storage first down right out of
the gate. Victor Davis forty four. Victor Davis on the stop there for

(22:44):
Percy Julie and Dogs first in tennear midfield. From there on forty nine
yard line. That's a first down. That's a big play. Great way
to start. Two receivers to theright, single receiver to the left side,
another handoff out of the backfield, and Hugly this time is going to
be hemmed up right at the lineof scrimmage and I stopped there by Joshua

(23:06):
Whiting of the Phoenix, and they'llmark it for a pickup of a yard
right two midfield now at the fiftyyard line, so this will be a
second down and at ten they'll sayno gain. Actually they'll mark it back
at the forty nine. So seconddown and ten, Brody Jones ended the

(23:27):
wide down to the left, JordanTilba, who had the big week last
week. He's got one hundred andsixty yards eleven catches on the season for
a couple of touchdowns, and outof the shotgun, they'll hand it off
to Hugly right side. Hugly stuttersteps his way across midfield. They'll mark
him down right at the fifty yardline, Number one, Joshua Whiting,

(23:48):
Like we're trying to run the ball, we gotta do better than theft o
Van. You'll put us in athird and eight situation right now, a
third and third and eight as amark the ball down to the Phoenix forty
nine yard line. Third down conversiondown right here. Some big guys up
front, Christopher Johnson two fifty,Victor Davis five eight, two sixty right

(24:11):
there in the middle of that PercyJulian defensive line. Here's a third down
and eight for the Bulldogs at theforty nine. Percy Julian dropping back,
setting up a screen pass, andthat time it's caught by Miller, but
he's brought down for a two yardloss back at the forty nine yard line,
and that's gonna bring up a fourthdown in the punting situation here for
the Bulldogs. Fonteke Carter is bangedup on the play, so there is

(24:33):
an injured Bulldog down on the field. I'm not sure if this is a
cramper he got tangled up on theplay, but we do have an injury
time out here on the field,so we'll step aside. Quick time badure.
Listen to Bulldog football scoreless game seventwenty two remaining here. I opened
in quarter punning time for the Dogs. Gagliano gets the snap, he boots

(24:56):
it away high and hanging punt we'llhit at the twenty five I take a
big time bounce and a good openlike a roll all the way down inside
the ten yard line, going tobe marked down close to the eight yard
line. Good punt there by RomanGangliano. Excellent. That's excellent coverage.
That's good punt coverage. Poor defense, pour off it. That was a

(25:17):
tunnel screen we tried on that thirddown. Then we didn't block anybody.
A good throw but lost two yards. So let's see a big time here.
We keep them backed up back hereand hopefully get the ball back seven
h six remaining here in the openingquarter of play. It is a scoreless
ball game, and Percy Julian backwith the football and they've got it from

(25:41):
their own nine yard line after thatgood funt by Roman Gagliano, and there's
a flag on the play. Allthe dogs are backing up is this may
go against the dogs. Well, see that's on us. That's five yards
we jumped. Then they're supposed tolook at the football right now, Percy

(26:04):
Julian saying it's against the dogs. But there's a long conversation going between these
three officials here. They picked theflag up and they're gonna market against Percy
Julian. So that's gonna be afive yard penalty the other way, so
that will be back to the four. Oh, that's big right there.

(26:26):
That's very good. Yeah, firstand fifteen now for Percy Julian from there
on a four yard line now.Due Everett the coach of Percy Julian's second
season as head coach one and ninelast season, he was an offensive coordinator
in a defensive alignment for Lee infourteen. Coach there fourteen or twenty one
handoff out of the backfield over thereby the Bulldogs. That was Jackson Kilcrease,

(26:49):
and he knocked down Javerian Rodgers rightout of the backfield's two yard loss.
That's gonna be a loss of two. Right coach, you are two
yard low back him on up.Sixty six o'clock continues to run. But
Dreque Everett, the coach for PercyJulian, he played his playing career in
Alabama State. Was a defensive tackle, so a Montgomery native. They're gonna

(27:14):
twirl it here, but they gotquads over here to the left side,
four in a diamond formation here nearside, but a flag comes in and
stops this play. As a quarterbacktook the shotgun snap from his own end
zone. That's gonna be that's gonnabe against Percy. I'm almost for sure
this one's going against the Bulldogs. Is it? Five? Looks like it
so that will help out the Phoenix. We don't need to give him any

(27:38):
help. When you got him backedup on the two yard line. Van
the gum it ball spotted back. Now it looks like at the seven yard
line it's be a second down andtwelve here for the Phoenix. Shotguns snap
McGrew gets it, throws far side, got a seam the receiver dead down

(27:59):
the far side line, and thatis complete at number eleven Jacobe Jackson,
he's gonna be near the first downmarker, but about a yard shy as
that pass was good. They markedit up at the seventeen yard line,
so that was a ten yard pickup. So now it will be third
down and two. Phoenix go quickhandoff in the backfield and he's swallowed up

(28:22):
a nice hit there by number ninetyone, Amory Smiley. I don't think
he got it. I don't thinkhe did. Gonna be very close.
I don't think it's it's close.No, No, it's fourth to hand.
They're marking a short fourth and one, so they did give him one
yard. So the ball's right atthe eighteen. We'll see if they try
to roll the dice here and they'reon territory for their own nineteen yard line,

(28:47):
I don't know. Yeah, they'regoing for it, so they're gonna
line up to go for it herefrom their own nineteen yard line. Here
on fourth and one, quarterback BrysonMcGrew gets under center, trying to get
a hard count. He'll go straightahead. I think he lost the ball
and fumbled it, and I thinkthere's a scramble for it. The Dogs
may have fallen on it. TheDogs got it. Goods fall on the

(29:11):
fumble, boy, disastrous, Therewould have been a turnover anyway, no
chance of having the of getting thefirst down, coach. But I think
the Dogs fell on the fumble anyway. Yeah, that was That was a
disaster right there. So the Dogswill take over at the Julian seventeen yard
line. We need to take thisone in the end zone. So Hopelika

(29:34):
with the football after that fourth downattempt went no good by Percy Julian,
five oh one remaining here in thisfirst quarter, scoreless ball game, and
the Bulldogs with the football here atthe Percy Julian seventeen yard line. Gagliano
with two backs in the backfield. He's actually got Calvin Hugley and Jamari Miller

(29:55):
back there, one each side.Roman Gaglenos your quarterback Calvin Hugely and Jamari
Miller. Blake Johnson, Drew Gaglianoand Brody Jones. Your receivers and up
front, Tremaine Thomas, Kyle Epperson, Parker Kill, Chris Brandon Fears and
Cavante Carter. Tamar Ross is inthere now, David Miller's you're tied in,

(30:17):
and Jordan Talbot's wide receiver. Allright, heat time out on the
field, scoreless, game five ohone remaining. We're back after this.
You listen to Bulldog football. Hereon the kick quick heat time out out
of the time out, Bulldogs haveit at the Percy Julian seventeen yard line.
This will be a first down andten play at the seventeen of Percy
Julian. Gagliano gets the snap, hands in right side, Jamari Miller trying

(30:41):
to find some running room, andagain, nice job by the Phoenix closing
down. That's gonna be a bigloss all the way back to the twenty
two yard line. Seven yard loss. Gracious lost five yards, so I'll
walk it down a five yard loss. It to be second down in fifteen

(31:02):
and play just had no chance. They're trying to run the edge over here,
and Lee's got too much speed andwein' blocked anybody. Four twenty seven
left, opening quarter. Two widereceivers either side here now for Roman Gagliano
here from the near hash second downand fifteen at the Percy Julian twenty two.

(31:22):
Gagliano steps back, surveys the field. Nobody there. Gagliano rolls right.
Now he's one towards the end zone. Two bulldogs there but overshot Jamari
Miller and Brody Jones. They reallyhad no chance of getting that one anyway,
as the coverage there from Lee closeddown on that one pretty quickly.
So now it's third and fifteen forOpelika again here at the Percy Julian twenty

(31:44):
two. Sloppy start, coach,if you're laugh basively for the first five
minutes, has gone and we're gonnamake a play here Van we getting whipped
offensively. Two receivers either side againhere for Gagliano. Calvin hugely loan back
here from the near hash again athird and fifteen, dropping back, Gagliano

(32:04):
looked left, throwback right. BrodyJones has it. Nice move, but
he's cut down right at the twentyyard line. Gonna be a short pickup
of only two yards and it's gonnabe fourth down. Kind of in no
man's land here. Maybe a fieldgoal attempt will see Johnny Sassena roll out
here. So it looks like coachspeakman wants to give it a shot here.
This will be at the twenty yardline, so this will be right
at a This will be about likea thirty seven yard field goal. Thirty

(32:45):
seven yard attempt here for Sissena herefrom the near hash from the right hash
on the field, snap kick upand Johnny Sassena blew that one right through
the uprights here and it's good.So Dogs take a three nothing to lead
on a thirty seven yard field goalby Johnny Sassina, his first of the
season for the junior kicker. Andthat score and drive power by our friends

(33:05):
at opal like a power services hometownpeople working for you online and opelacapower dot
com. We'll take a time outand come back on the field. Dogs
and early field goal lead over PercyJulian here at Bulldog Stadium. Now months
going offensively for the Bulldogs. JohnnySssina, though, comes up with something

(33:27):
after the fourth down to turnover ondowns by the Percy Julian Phoenix in their
own territory, went forward on theirown seventeen on fourth down, came up
empty and Johnny Sassina puts up athirty seven yard field goal to give the
Dogs a three nothing lead. Here'sthe ensuing kickoff returnable by the Phoenix across
the twenty five and up closed tothe thirty yard line. Pretty good return

(33:50):
there, so, coach, we'vebeen harping on special teams and Dogs do
at least get a field goal outof that one with some pretty good special
teams kicking there by Johnny Sisina.Yeah, we want him to go anywhere
in front of the thirty and they'reowned about the twenty eight, so we're
good. That was good, goodkickoff coverage. Looks like Percy Julian will
start from their own twenty nine yardlines where they're gonna spot the ball after

(34:15):
that return. Same front up there, Jackson, Lightfoot, Autrey and Smiley
McGrew out of the shotgun, getsit hand off to the back and he's
met in the backfield and laid outthere by a Maurice Smiley. He took
down Javerian Rogers in the backfield. He met him when he got the handoff.

(34:35):
Folks, if you're not following thisjunior defensive end for the Bulldogs,
Amory Smiley take notes six two,two hundred and thirty pounds of the boy
can play football. Yeah, KennyPrescott loves him. He's really done a
good job. That's second and fifteen, loss of four yards. Back to
the twenty five yard line, tripsreceivers, rights, singer receiver here to
the near side. McGrew out ofthe shotgun here for the Phoenix gets the

(34:57):
snap again, handoff in the backfieldagain, he's swarmed by the pack of
bulldogs and there's a late flag onthe plate. I'm not sure that's gonna
be a face mask, but youkind of lightfoot was one of the first
ones there this time number ninety nine. And we'll wait and see what the
penalty flag is here. They're gonnacall it a dank face mask on that.
I don't know. Maybe holding here, coach. We'll wait and see

(35:22):
the guy loses his four yards. That's against up. Well, we got
a chance. Let's head down onthe field for a four seasons Federal Credit
Union sign line report. Matt gota good field goal. There's a face
mask, so against us. Buthey, defense is swarming right now.
Yeah, they are, And I'mwith you on that. Pop you get
lost, get a face mask onthat. I understand that. I don't
understand that. Hey, well, look you know we're sputtering, sputtering early,

(35:45):
but you know you rewarded yourself andyou got three points on the board
with Johnny's good field goal up there, and let's say let's tune it up
defensively and get something going. Allright, I like it. After the
penalty, it'll be second down tonine. Mercy Julian throws one out of
the flats. My goodness, whata hit there by the bulldogs. Another
stick him hit by Carson Moss, number twenty three flies in there and he

(36:07):
hits the tailback Javerian Rodgers coming outof the backfield. Boy, there's some
hits from this dog defense. Man. Oh man, that was great Carson
Moss. And you know what,Mac McCracken, you've heard getting mossed.
That was our version of it rightthere, Mac, Absolutely, that's my
next door neighbor. So he goingout. That's right, that's exactly right

(36:29):
up right, though. I likedthe dog defense version of getting Moss there.
Third down and fourteen after that losson the play ball at the got
a chunk at here now twenty fiveyard line Percy Julian from their own twenty
five trips receivers here to the nearside, they'll throw it nearly intercepted.
The only person was there was JaMarcusPhillips. That flew over his head and

(36:50):
he's an open like a bulldog.Fourth down and here comes the punning team
for the Phoenix. Oh for threeon third down conversions, which is really
good, really good. They justquit running the ball. You're not gonna
believe they're their yardage. They almosthave minus yards. Russian van bags Bulldogs

(37:10):
in out Tony Ingram to receive thispunt. He stands at the forty five
yard line. This kid not gonnakick the ball as far as he is
deep. He's gonna kick it aboutthirty yards. John Holman, as the
punter, stands at the eleven yardline. And Holman but it's a high
hanging boot into this one. Itbounces down at the forty two yard line.
Nearly got touched by the bulldogs.I believe they're gonna say it did

(37:34):
get touched, all right. No, I think they're going to say they
marked it down at the forty setthe twelve at the thirty, well,
they keep walking it up. Yeah, they marked it there. That's where
they marked it, all right,at the thirty nine yard line. Is
where they're gonna say that was closeto the coach. Another one, let
you hold your breath a little bitthere. One nineteen remaining here in our

(37:58):
first quarter, brought to you byL and M. Punt and gun go
to stop for great reliable guns inOka Laika. We only have seven snaps
on offense Van seven snaps and we'realmost played a whole quarter, but we
do have three points. Dogs haveit from their own thirty nine yard line,
Opalika with the early three nothing leadhere over the Percy Julian Phoenix.

(38:21):
Gagliano has hugely to his left outof the shotgun formation, a receiver either
side, and the first down playwe'll go to Calvin. Ugly defense got
through the line right off the batthere and Calvin made a couple of men
miss and he picked up two yardsup to the forty one yard line.
But just not much there. Offensiveline not getting a good push against this
Robert E. Lee Percy Julian defensivefront. Oh they're not well by number

(38:45):
six, Hey, Sean lar nowunder a minute to go and are running
clock here at Bulldog Stadium. Dogfans don't forget Bubba's Medicine shop. Just
what the doctor ordered. Locally ownedand rated. Visit Bubbas Medicine Shop and
let them take care of you.Second Avenue in Opelika, Second down and
eight, play here for the Dogsfrom their own at forty one yard line.

(39:08):
Gagliano gets the stamp, play actionthrows got a man's jones off the
fingertips at the thirty six yard line. That was Brody Jones had a step,
but just let him just a littletoo far inside the forty yard line.
Almost a six close. That wasclose. Thirty one seconds left.

(39:30):
My old wide receiver coach in collegeused to say, if you can touch
it, you should catch it veryclose off the fingertips Brody Jones. Two
receivers either side. Dogs have athird down and eight from their own forty
one. Nearly got the Phoenix tojump there. Play clock down to four,

(39:53):
down to three. Gaglion are gonnahave to get this one off now
with two does drops back, pressurecomes. Gagliano flushed ushered somehow voids the
rush, stays on his feet. He's just gonna have to throw this one
away, and it's nearly picked offat the forty five yard line as Brendan
Brendarian Hooks rather jumped in front ofthe intended wide receiver Brody Jones, and

(40:13):
nearly picked that one off here atthe open like a sideline. Seventeen seconds
left, clock stop, fourth down, and the Dogs offense has sputtered again
and we'll have to punt it away. As quarterback Roman Gagliano, he got
the pressure on him quickly there andwas running for his life. Yeah,
they've got six more snaps than wehave and we only have one first down

(40:36):
in the whole first quarter. They'vedone a good job of stopping us.
Seventeen seconds remaining. General's deep manstands at around the twenty yard line.
Roman little rugby style, kicked tothe right side, hits down to the
thirty two, takes a roll insidethe twenty five and inside the twenty a
nice little scoop down at the goodjob yard line, and Fox stout with

(41:00):
five seconds left here in our firstquarter of play. Some early scores on
the Auburn Bank scoreboard. Here wegot Beulah leading sacks eight nothing, Valley
leading board guards seven nothing on theroad, and Auburn down in Dothan leading
seven nothing and you follow leading headlinefourteen nothing Auburn banks scoreboard here with five
seconds left in our first quarter openlike a leads Percy Julian finally by our

(41:23):
score right now three to nothing. We're gonna no, we don't need to
score a touchdown on defense is whatwe're gonna need to do here. We
got five seconds left in the quarter. Phoenix from their own nineteen yard line,
first down play McGrew. The quarterbackrolls right, pressured and brought down
and sacks sacked in the backfield byAlan Jackson. As the first quarter comes

(41:45):
to a close, the defensive lineesflying around. Offense has got to follow
at the end of one Dogs leadingthree to nothing here Bulldog Stadium, you're
listen, no boy, like aBulldog football. Here on the kicker general
second down play a pass over onthe far side of the field as they
do hook up with Jacoby Jackson, and this is going to set up a

(42:07):
fourth down here for Percy Julian.I'm gonna be around a third and ten
coming up here for the Phoenix. What's as we get you started here in
the second quarter? Three nothing isour score here at Bulldog Stadium. O
Baalika with the lead and it willbe Actually, this will be they have
not completed a third down conversion. This will be a third down, I

(42:29):
should say, right, Jane Crewhad that incorrect third down and ten.
Here for the Phoenix quarterback. McGrewscrambles around. He's got a man open
in midfield. He has hit bumpedand it is going to be a pass
interference at the forty five yard line. At that time, Covante White just
bumped the white out Jacoby Jackson, and Jacoby was kind of standing all alone

(42:50):
and the man no man's landed theforty five yard line, and that's gonna
be a fifteen yard penalty. Itwill be enough for a first down that
will move Percy Julian up around thethirty four yard line. Say down the
sideline. Mac mccracking with an injuryupdate. Sorry, Matt, go ahead,
you got me. Yeah, talkto our trainer, Jacob and our

(43:14):
senior right guard. Fifty six Cavantequarter it's out with a knee strain.
He went out in the first quarterabout midway through, and they've listening no
go for the rest of the evening. Well, that's tough to use make.
We appreciate that update. Down, first down and ten Percy Julian.
As the ball is spotted up nowto the thirty four yard line. Quarterback

(43:39):
McGrew throws here near side, caughtat the thirty five up across the forty
yard line. They'll actually marking downright at the forty yard line. That
was Johnny Darby on the reception. That's gonna be a pickup of five yard.
It's actually six yard pick up.It'll be second down and four.
Jackson kilgred second down four, Sothis will be a second down and four

(44:05):
here for the Phoenix from their ownforty yard line. Harding us on these
a little slip screens. We gotto get to the ball a little bit
quicker and tackle a little bit better. Third down and four. Two receivers
here to the near side. Singerreceiver left side, they'll have an option
to play. Quarterback McGrew keeps itstraight up the middle and he's across midfield.

(44:25):
That's gonna be enough for a firstdown here for the Phoenix. They've
got it to the Bulldog forty nineyard line. Eleven yards on the quarterback
run there by Bryson McGrew. That'sthe third first down. I'll mark it
down to the forty eight. Actuallyof Opelika. They had this ball back
on their own ten yard line andwe let them out. Got played better

(44:47):
defense than this ten ten remaining tenoh seven and out of the shotguns.
Now quarterback mcgroup takes it. Thistime he's brought down for a short pick
of the Mary Smiley was there.Want to keep her. I'm talking to
you by number one ninety one MarisFiley Blay game one yard took it down

(45:15):
nine nine forty five remaining here inthe second quarter. This will be a
second down in nine coming up herefor Percy Julian. We got a time
out on the field here. It'sa time out taken by Percy Julian.

(45:37):
So nine thirty two remaining here atour second quarter of play, when we
got a moment, let you know. Our second quarter is brought to you
by Auburn Premiere Air called Auburn PremiereAir today for all your HVAC maintance,
repairs and replacements. At three threefour seven four zero thirty forty eight,
you're authorized train dealer Auburn Premier Airnow serving the Auburn ople like a Late
Mark Late Martin and surrounding areas. We'll take a time. You're listening to

(46:00):
bulldog football here on the kick mighta picture perfect first half of play so
far for this open like a bulldogteam. The defense has been strong,
but it's been a few big playshere so far for Percy Julian. They've
got a second and nine at theOPENACA forty seven. Here's a throw far

(46:22):
side, broke a tackle receiver offdown the sidelines and he's chased out of
bounds finally at around the thirty eightyard line, as that was Johnny Darby
on the reception again for Percy Julian, and he's got him close to another
first down. He's gonna set upa third and short, as they spotted
the ball down to the forty twoyard line, so that was a six

(46:44):
yard pickup on that throwing catch. So third down and four actually coming up
here for the Phoenix. They'll lineup with trips receivers to the right,
single receiver to the left side atthe opal like a forty two yard line
McGrew the word Bank gets the stamp, looked to the right, throws in
and out of the hands of hisintended receiver, Jacoby Jackson, and it's

(47:06):
incomplete and this will bring up fourthdown, Coach, if they went and
for it on their own nineteen earlier, you think they're going for it here?
Oh yeah, at the forty twoof Opelika, I think so well.
I don't know. Here comes lookslike another group in this may be
a punting team. If they punthere, this will be a head scratching
move. I guess the only thingthey want to do is maybe a pen
opalika back deep. Yeah, itlooks like they're gonna kick. Yeah,

(47:30):
be careful now that the punter isnot back very deep. But now he
does here he comes, Okay.John Holman, number nineteen is the punter.
He does run out in late andhe was probably shocked two. Jamari
Miller stands at the eleven yard lineawaiting this punt from Holman. Good snamp,
Bulldogs, no pressure at all, holding an end over end kick.

(47:50):
Fair catch called for and taken atthe thirteen yard line there by Jamari Miller.
So the Bulldogs will have it fromtheir own thirteen yard line, leading
here three to nothing with nine twentyleft in our first half of play,
Coach, it's been sloppy offensively.I know you would like to have seen
a lot cleaner of a at leastmost of the first quarter, as this
will be the dog's first time outwith the football here in the second quarter.
But yeah, they've had the ballU twenty snaps to our ten snaps,

(48:16):
so they've had the ball twice asmuch as we've had the ball.
BAM. So we gotta we gottamove it. We gotta thirteen yard line.
So dogs have it from their ownthirteen yard line. Two receivers to
the right side, single receiver tothe left side. Hugly is the loan
back for Gagliano. He'll move aman in motion and Gagliano gets the snap,

(48:39):
hands it to Hugly. Hugly bouncesit out here to the near side.
He's across the twenty five. Huglystays on his feet across the twenty
rather and he's up close to thetwenty five yard line. They'll bring him
down at the twenty four yard line. That is an eleven yard pickup and
the Laborn transfer in storage. Firstdown. That's that's our dogs go quick

(49:00):
or Gagliano rolls right, pump fakesthrows down field, and it's called Miller's
got it. At the forty threeyard line, tiptoes the sideline across midfield,
and he's in to Percy Julian territory. Finally pushed out of bounds.
It looks like at the forty sevenyard line. Big play, big play.
That's a twenty nine yard pickup andelaborate transferring storage first down and Gagliano

(49:23):
continues to go fast. Hugly getsthe snap. There's a holding flag it
looks like, or at least inthe range of holding, and a short
two yard pickup there by Calvin Hugely, and it could be a ten yard
penalty. On top of it,we'll see a legal block below the waist
goes against the Bulldogs. Hey,Roy, are you sitting right? So

(49:43):
that's gonna be the penalty there. It's gonna be a block below the waist.
So that's a tough break there anda tough penalty there for that's our
third penalty that gives us thirty yardsand penalties eight twenty eight remaining here in
this first half of play. Aswe're here in the second quarter, that's

(50:04):
brought to you by Auburn Premier AirDog fans. Don't forget creating a better
banking experience at South State Bank. They're committed to innovative solutions that makes their
customers live easier and more convenient.Come by South State Bank and see some
of their local bankers, Tommy Cummings, John Meadows and Eric Canada. Big
penalty first down and twenty five Afterthat block below the waist, that was

(50:29):
a big penalty, backed it allthe way to the twenty nine yard line.
There's a handoff straight up the middleof a good run here by Jordan
Waits across the forty five and Wakesis up to the forty six yard line.
Carrier about a ten yard carry lessfun so that gets up to the

(50:51):
forty six yard line for an eightyard pickup. Second down and seventeen here
for the Dogs. Two receivers eitherside hand off again to Waits. Waits,
nice carry again, he's across midfieldand he's into Percy Julian territory as
they'll mark him down at the fortysix yard line for an eight yard pick
up again. So back to backruns at eight there for Jordan Waits,

(51:13):
and he's got a third and nineset up here for the Bulldogs. There's
be a great conversion right here ifthey get a first down right here at
the Percy Julian forty six yard line, facing this third down to nine,
Gagliano drops back, floats one downfield. A holding flag comes in.
It looks like maybe against the defense, it'll be picked off at the ten
yard line. There's a nice defensiveplay, Bri. I've been Darian hooks,

(51:37):
but I think we're gonna have ahold on the defense here. It
is. I think Jordan Tolbert gota little tug there on the route.
He said he's sure did down thefield. That's gonna be an automatic first
down two hold against the defense.Seven twelve remaining here in this first half

(52:00):
of play, Dogs are facing athird and nine. That penalty that is
gonna give him the first down andwe'll extend this drive. Last week,
Jordan Talbert had a big, biggame, two touchdown receptions and that went
over jag. He went over ahundred yards receiving two. He's got a

(52:22):
one hundred and sixty yards on theseason. Turned into one of those big
targets for Gagliano last week. Himand Jamari Miller had had great games last
week. Seven oh nine clock runninghere in this first half of play,
three nothing Dogs on top trying toadd to it here first down in ten

(52:44):
at the thirty six yard line ofPercy Julian hand off, this time to
Hugly. Hugly trying to bounce itoutside and again Percy Julian a nice job
flying to the football and they stopHugly for no gain and there is a
flag on the plus that's gonna bea holding penalty tackle made by number thirty
or This defense has really had theirway up front defensively here so far through

(53:07):
this most of this first half.Well, wait, the white hats signal
here, but we do. That'sfifty yards and penalties on us in the
first half. We anticipate this tobe a holding against the Dogs. No
call yet from the white hat,but they're moving the ball back back to

(53:29):
the forty six yard line, sothis will be a first down and twenty
now for the Bulldogs. Drew Gangly, I know checks of the ball game.
Have I seen him a lot?He is lined up here with trips

(53:51):
receivers here to the left side,Singer receiver to the right here on this
first and long play, it's gonnabe a run play for Gaggling. I
know, nearly tripped up staying onthis feet inside the thirty, he's inside
the twenty. Gagliano's got the sidelines. He's gone touchdown. Bulldogs cornerback rolling,
Gagliano takes it to the house forthe Bulldog touchdown. Gagliano just skippered

(54:14):
to forty six yards for the BulldogChuckstown. He's not none Coach mccrackin for
his wheels, but he looked prettygood there. You know, they hadn't
warn him to run the ball verymuch, you know, because he's so
valuable. But boy, he tookoff on that option and gone down the
sideline. Super play, super decisionby him. Also, so here's number

(54:38):
forty nine, Reese Beasley the freshmanfor the extra point and missed it and
he got it through God late.Reese Beasley the freshman. That's his first
extra point of the season. Sogood to see Reese jumping in there.
It's at ten nothing, Bulldog leythat drive fire by our friends and open
lack of power services hometown people workingfor you on the light of up likeapower

(55:00):
dot Com. We're back after this. You're listening to Bulldog football here on
the Kicker. Dogs with a tennothing lead. The kick returned all pretty
good return there by Percy Julia. They bring it all the way out to
the close to the thirty five yardline on that play there, and we've

(55:24):
got a heat time out out ofthe scoring time out here, so six
nineteen remaining here. We'll keep itright here down on the sideline for a
four seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline Report. Matt McCracken, what's happening on the
field, Well, it looked likeRoman Gagliano just woke up on Christmas morning
when he can't run off all thesidelines from scoring that touchdown. Hey,

(55:44):
you're right, you know, Popthat they rarely run him, but when
he breaks free, he got thosethat long stride and he's faster than people
think. But you know, hewas fired up in this is something that
the offense, you know, Iwas waiting to come. You know,
the big place you could check off, the big play happening in this game
right there by the dogs they puttogether go when they got to cut back
on the penalties though, I knowthat's something that's frustrating this coaching staff that

(56:07):
they're talking about and they're going overon the sidelines right now. But you
know, overall, let's see ifwe can get a defensive stop. And
I know, like you said here, you know at six nineteen, so
we're not at the last five minutes, but I would really love to get
a score right here before we getinto half. Oh yeah, mathmacracking.
This is a big, big fiveminutes right here. Van last five and
a half coming up. So PercyJulian will start from there on thirty nine

(56:30):
yard line. Shotgun Stamp McGrew willhand it off in the backfield, and
that play was read nicely. Mosswas in there, gotta hit first,
and then that big defensive line comesin there and help clean things up.
The leak autry and no gain onthe play. You know, the Julians

(56:51):
are trying to run the ball. They hadn't been able to throw the ball
real well, they're they're running theball pretty good. So we're shut that
down and will be okay. Whileis from the thirty four yard line,
second down and nine coming up here, or rather second out of ten floats

(57:12):
one far side, and it iscaught and a nice turn up field by
the wide receiver up close to theforty yard line. On that reception,
there was number fourteen Jaden hill andthis is gonna set up a third down
and four for Percy Julian as they'vegot the ball spotted up to the forty
yard line. That was a sixyard pickup. Did get a score from
South Alabama Enterprise trailing Central twenty tonothing in the second quarter. So not

(57:37):
a good score there for the Wildcatsafter their big win last week against Auburn.
Trips receivers to the right, tworeceivers to the left side. I
grew the quarterback trying to direct traffic. Here's he's got five wide, gets
the snap here on third down, quick throw tipped up in the air and
nearly did his pick up by theDogs down into the near sidelines. That
floated right into the hands of theBulldogs into the house goes. That was

(58:00):
number of forty. That was numberforty eight. Kate and Harris with the
interception for the Bulldogs and he takesit in for the Bulldog touchdown. That's
a tenth grader right there, Hoss. It was tipped once in the air.
I thought it was falling down tocoach mccracking, and finally it was

(58:21):
tipped into the hands of Kaden Mass, says the sophomore takes it in for
the Bulldog touchdown. Oh yeah, don't you know. He's a happy fellow.
So we'll see the sophomore are thefreshman kicker rather come back out for
the extra point again, Reese Beasley. He's a six foot, one hundred
and fifty five pound freshman. Sowith four fifty two remaining here in the
second quarter of the Bulldogs defense comingup with another score, a number forty

(58:47):
nine, and the Dogs on topseventeen nothing over Percy Julian. Here,
with four fifty two remaining in oursecond quarter, we'll take a quick time
out and you listen to Bulldog footballhere on the kicker back here at Bulldogs

(59:08):
Stadium. A slow start for theDogs, but they have built a seventeen
nothing lead here with four fifty tworemaining here in this second quarter of play,
the Bulldogs defense coming up big asit was. Kayden Harris with a
big interception and he returned at aboutforty five yards to the house for the
touchdown. And here is Johnny Cissinaand his leg got to be pretty loose.

(59:28):
He's kicked it here, yes, last couple of times, and that
one goes into the end zone abouthalfway into the end zone for the touchback
and four fifty two remaining. PercyJulian will get the football. And that
was a third down play coach forPercy Julian last time out. And that
was one that just flowed got tippedat the line of scrimmage. Again,
got a credit those defensive line, but forgetting their hand on the football.

(59:50):
Malak Entry tipping the ball in theair. I watched team. I was
gonna tell you who that was. That was Malik and that's two turnovers for
them, resulted in two touch day. All right, that's gonna be our
defensive player of the game. Broughtyou by Western Sizzling, Hungry for a
stake. James Cooper's got you covered, Western Sizzling and Opelika right there,
Eggs at sixty two Offiety five ColumbusParkway there and the corner Fox Run Avenue.

(01:00:13):
Here's a handoff in the backfield andthere's a nice play again. Is
that Carson Moss again? It isCarson Moss cutting down the running back again
in the backfield, Javarian Rodgers. And that's gonna be let's say no game.
But boys, he tried to turnit up field number twenty three flying
all over the place. Coach,Yeah, we've Carson Moss. We've cut
their running game down. They've onlyhad I'll give them to you at halftime.

(01:00:36):
But they don't have many yards rushing. They got a lot of minus
charge rushing. Here's your quads.Look over here. This is gonna be
a chunker. YEA four wide receiversin sort of a diamond formation here to
the near side, one receiver tothe left side, so five wide here
from McGrew on second down and tenfrom the twenty drops back pressure comes from
Jackson kill Crease. He breaks awayfrom him, stays on his feet,

(01:00:57):
floats it towards the sidelines and almostin row one over here at Bulldog Stadium
on the home side. It willbe third down and ten coming up here
for Percy Julian Bulldog fans. Gladyou're with us here in the second quarter,
Coach Van Riggs. Coach Spence mccrackingback, mccracking down on the sidelines.
We're coming to you for the OrthopedicClinic Broadcast booth, East Alabama's go
to center for orthopedic care. Twolocations, one in Auburn Lakeside Circle and

(01:01:20):
eighteen Medical Arts Center and North twentiethStreet in Opa. Liiken online at the
Orthoclinic dot com. Terry Rosenthal andhis team, they does such a great
job keeping all these athletes when they'rebanged up, hitting them well and back
on the football field as soon asthey can. Third and ten here for
Percy Julian trips receivers to the rightside, single receiver left mcgroo drops back,

(01:01:42):
pressure comes, he's stepped up,and he's hitt and he is laid
down by Malik Altree, sacked onthe play back at the fifteen yard line.
Great job right there, a lossof five. It's fourth down,
Malik Altrey null. Boy, it'sgood to have these guys on your side.
Coach McCracken is an you're lying everyboddy. Dogs are gonna have good field

(01:02:06):
position here. As the Dogs havesent Jamari Miller back out, he stands
in only around the forty one yardline. The punter John Holman stands at
the one yard line. Oh offive on third down conversions by the Percys
tonight, see if the Dogs bringsome pressure here. Holman gets a low
snap, comes up with it endover end kick, and Miller calls for

(01:02:27):
the fair catch at the forty oneyard line, so the Dogs will have
it with three ten remaining here inthis second quarter, up seventeen nothing on
the Phoenix and a chance to getsome more here right before the end of
the second quarter. Need to getanother seven right here last five minutes and
a half, So down at theforty one yard line, we will have

(01:02:49):
the Spirit of the South Marching Manperforming here in halftime. They're getting ready
lined up to our right. Theirfirst chance for the full band to compete
this season. And we will geta chance next week or so to speak
to the band director and find outwhat's been going on with the Spirit of
the South Marching Band. Oh,here's a little pick play. Roman runs

(01:03:10):
the sidelines like he forgot something thatthey called on the sidelines and wide up
and it's called by Calvin Hugeley insidethe ten five trick play touchdown. I
thought Roman forgot something. He wascoming to the sidelines like he forgot his
wristband. They threw it too.Roman here on the near side. He
threw it across the field of CalvinHugeley, wide open. They had everyone

(01:03:30):
fooled here at Little Dog Stadium. How many yards was that one? Coach.
That was a forty one yard touchdownpass there from our buddy Roman Gagliano,
who had me fool. I wasready to throw my wristband. That's
five big plays. Oh, that'sgreat, twenty three nothing. Here's the
point after a tempt coming from ourfreshman kicker Rhese Beasley snapped down. The

(01:03:53):
kick is up and the kick isthrough the uprights and good for one play
touchdown. That's quite the openac ofPower Services Scoring Drive East Alabama was to

Arts Center one twenty one North twentiethStreet and Opelika, and online at ortho

(01:04:14):
Clinic dot com. MC McCracken. That was a dandy of a drawn up
play there. Yeah, that's somegood stuff. I think he's been in
the old, the old backyard footballright there drawing that one up. I
think Rebel I gave him some lessonson action because Mackie had me I was,
I was biting all the way.I thought, well, it looked
a little strange when he was throwingthe hands up and then uh, but
I did see his wrist band onso it was like he's got his wrist

(01:04:36):
band, so he should have probablyleft it on the sidelines. Yeah,
that was That was one of thosey MCA plays. But that one worked
right there though, it sure did. That was that was a nice one
there. So we wanted another touchdownthere and uh Percy Julian territory and got
it here with three minutes left. That one was quick. Micha o' jarney's
really kicking that ball well, now, I mean look at the that one

(01:05:00):
halfway in the end zone there andJohnny puts a big fist bump. He's
fired up Coach mccracking. You lookat coach speakman. He's given him a
big high five, and that's somethingthat I know coach Speakman's been wanting to
see. We've talked a lot aboutthat, coach next week at Central Phoenix
City. You don't want to givethose guys a chance to make a return
to you, Oh no, youwant to kick it in the end zone.
And that is certainly good to seethere from Johnny Sassena. Bulldogs a

(01:05:24):
twenty four nothing lead here with threeminutes to go in the second quarter after
what was a slow start for thisBulldog team a three nothing lead headed into
the second quarter. But it's beena big one here in the second quarter.
We don't need to give him anythinghere now, they've still got three
minutes left. Three minutes left ina first down and at ten here for

(01:05:45):
the Phoenix. From there, ontwenty yard line, quarterback McGrew drops back.
There's a flag thrown maybe on thecoverage there. I'm sure I think
that's gonna be on number nine.I believe that's gonna be a holding penalty.
Glue bunch of Marcus Phillips and Jadeand Hill. We're going back and
forth here on this near side. It's an ineligible man down field, an

(01:06:05):
ineligible man downfield on Oh really yeah, the coach speakman says he's declining it
good. There was nothing on onon jamacus. He was just he was
he was doing some good coverage downthere. That's a ten yard penalty hitting
it. Nice decline though either way. Second down and ten. Yeah,

(01:06:25):
good dogs defense playing some football herein the second quarter of play. Here
two receivers either side here for thePhoenix, Bryce and McGrew gets a snap,
steps up in the pocket, throwsone deep down fields got a man
with a step incomplete though the overshotJacoby Jackson who looked like he had a

(01:06:49):
step on Leland Bell, but itfalls in complete. Third and ten,
third down, ten seven of twyo throwing the foot two forty six remaining
here in our first half of play. Second quarter brought to you by Auburn
Premier Air. Whether you got abroken HVAC system wanting to upgrade, give

(01:07:12):
Auburn Premier Eric call today and learnmore about their smart financing through Alabama Power
seven four h thirty forty eight, two forty six left here in this second
quarter, Dogs leading twenty four nothing, and here's the Phoenix with a third
and ten play from the twenty. They'll throw it high and it's incomplete,
intended for Jacoby Jackson out of thebackfield. It's fourth down, Dogs again

(01:07:33):
a chance with some good field positionwith just over forty left, are you
we got? We got plenty oftime two forty left here in this first
task, still plenty of time toput another touchdown on the board here,
and there's a flag on the play, another ineligible man down field and another
decline penalty by coach Speakman in thisdefense. So that's twice we saw that

(01:07:54):
coach somebody lining up wrong. Yep, So again John Hole, I went
back out to punt here for PercyJulian. A late player comes on the
field here for the Phoenix. Holmanstands at the six yard line. Holman

(01:08:15):
gets the snap, pressure comes fromthe Bulldogs. They just get it off
and a fair catch called for andtaken by Jamari Miller at the forty six
yard line. So that's where Sue. We got plenty of time him.
Yeah, in really good field positiontoo. I got all their timeouts lay
five yard line, so this willbe first down and ten. They'll market

(01:08:38):
at the forty five yard line. That's where the bull Bulldogs will start here
first and ten. Gagliano got himon a trick play last time out,
one play, one score as Calvinhugely halled that one in this time starting
get in the backfield, it'll beJordan Waits. Two receivers here near side,

(01:09:00):
single receiver to the right, Weightsgets the handoff out of the backfield.
Good run brought down at the fortythree yard line. Carrier thirty three
just pick up him a couple ofyards here. Second down and eight Dogs
hurrying up to the line. Tworeceivers right single receiver here to the near
side and off again goes to weightsand weights cutting his way through the defense.

(01:09:27):
There, good run as he carriesit down to the thirty seven yard
line, so that will be apickup of six yards. So this will
be third and two. One fiftysix left here in this first half.
Here's a throw out of the flats. Jamari Miller's gid it in some trouble
though. He's gonna be brought downfor a loss on the play, and

(01:09:49):
this is gonna bring up a fourthdown. Dogs are gonna keep the offense
out here in no man's lamb. But this is gonna be around a fourth
down and at three maybe like awell, I think it will be a
true fourth down and three here atthe thirty eight yard line. Percy Julian

(01:10:11):
one twenty five o'clock continuing to runBulldogs. I think we'll let this one
run down. Well, I'll stopit right here and the Dogs will take
a time out. So time outon the field. While we got a
time out, we'll check in onthe Auburn Bank scoreboard. Scores around the
area brought to you by Auburn Bank. Jason Lee up here with our scores
tonight, Thompson leading best Davius sevento nothing at the half, Chambers leading

(01:10:32):
Crinshaw twenty two to nothing. AlsoBenjamin Russell leading Kallera at twelve to seven,
at least Gotten leading Morgan Big athome twenty eight to seven, Beulah
leading Sacks twenty one to nothing.Valley and border Guard tied up in a
doozy down the road there in Borderguardtonight, and Auburn leads Dothan at the
half fourteen to seven. As weheard earlier, the last score we had
from central Phoenix City was they wereleading on the road at Enterprise twenty to

(01:10:55):
nothing. So some scores from aroundthe area tonight we brought by our friends
at Auburn Bank one twenty two lefthere at Bulldog Stadium. In this first
half, we've got two receivers eitherside here for the Bulldogs, and this
will be a fourth down and threecoming up here for the Dogs. Gagliano
looks to his right. He looksto his left where he's got two receivers
lined up either side, and thetailback is Calvin hugely hard count trying to

(01:11:21):
get Percy Julian to jump there andthey did not Gagliano. Now we'll get
the snap, turns and hands itto Hugly, Hugely stopped in the hole,
and he's gonna be stopped short ofthe first down. He picked up
maybe one, maybe a half ayard, but again that run was well
defended there by the Phoenix. It'sgonna be a turnover on downs here with

(01:11:41):
one fourteen left, and I cantell you, coachs, there was a
hole there for a second, butboy, it closed quickly. U did
did I think they thought we weregonna throw? And you know that's okay.
We gotta don't let him have anythinghere. Gotta give a shout out
to our honor well Mayor Gary Fuller, who is at home tonight listening to

(01:12:01):
us and watching online. And therewe missed you here at the ballpark tonight,
and continue to wish you a speedyrecovery and appreciate the city and yourself
as being a big supporter open likea bulldog football, not only here locally
in the city, but on theradio and on the team. I want
to get you back on that golfcourse, Mayor. From the thirty eight
yard line. McGrew sets up ascreen and it is in and out of

(01:12:24):
the hands bobbled intended for his tailbackJaverian Rodgers trying to set the screen up.
They may have had something there butbut could not connect Ken. Their
last five pass passes have been incomplete. And I will tell Mayor Fuller the
hot dog count tonight was not whatwe were expecting, so he wouldn't have

(01:12:47):
got anything if he a guy herewe had, Well, we'll hide one
for you next week or the weekafter rather for the Prattvil game. And
we got you. Second down andten dropping back is mcgrewth throw here to
the near side that most nearly pickedoff by a lineman up front for down
ten. Heck, we're gonna getthe ball back again Van. That was

(01:13:10):
actually a a ninth grader in there, number fifty nine, Terres Thomas,
who nearly came up with an interceptionthere one oh four remaining here in this
first half of play. Third downand ten coming up here for Percy Julian
from their own thirty eight yard line. See if the Dogs bring the house

(01:13:31):
here trips receivers left, single receiverhere near sign. McGrew gets the shotgun,
snap steps up in the pocket, tipped and it is stagged and intercepted
by the Dogs. Come on TellyWhite near side inside the thirty and pushed
out at the twenty one yard line. Colon Tey White. Second Bulldog interception
here in the second quarter by numbertwenty eight White. Coach mccrack in,

(01:13:54):
this defense has played some football herein this second quar Man, you're you
are so right so right now istheir third turnover. A big, big
break for the Dogs right here.Cofan tell White five nine, one hundred
and eighty pounds senior coming up withanother interception with fifty four seconds left.
The Dogs with a chance to getthat late score here cleaning twenty four to

(01:14:15):
nothing and set up here a firstand ten at the twenty yard line of
the Phoenix. Gagliano trips receivers tothe right. Gagliano gets the snap,
looks left, throws and it ishauled in and called inside the ten,
pushed down the bounds. Jordan Tulbert'sgot the Dogs set up with the Lambett
transferring storage first down first in goldBulldogs at the eighth yard line of Percy

(01:14:38):
Julian was at a twenty one yardgame. See that was a twelve yard
pick pick up on that twelve yardsOkay, first and goal at the Percy
Julian eight yard line. Trips receiversto the right side, single receiver to
the left. Forty eight seconds runningclock. Gagliano drops back, steps up

(01:15:02):
in the pocket, rolls to hisrights, got plenty of time. Throws
towards the end zone tipped, andthat one nearly intercepted. That one was
nearly picked off by Elijah Gross PercyJulian. It went in his hands and
out of his hands, and Gaglianogot away with one. There, Yeah,
he did fox downp with thirty nineseconds left. It'll be second and
goal again from the eight yard line, Coach. Both interceptions were good.

(01:15:29):
I think both of them tie forthe defensive play of the game. There,
yes, sir, I was Percy'sthird turnover. Thirty nine seconds left.
Here's a second and goal play fromthe eighth Gagliano floats one corner of
the end zone up high for itand it's incomplete. And that one was
well defended by Joshua Whiting as hewas defending Jamari Miller of Opelika. There

(01:15:50):
is a flag on the play.We got a holding penalty. Boy,
that'll be a killer right here.Sixty yards and penalties. We can't.
We can't do that against good footballteams. So that will be a ten
yard penalty. Should put it backat the eighteen yard line and that'll replay.

(01:16:14):
The downs will be second down andgoal from the eighteen will open.
Light of ten yards, thirty twoseconds to work with. Still plenty of
time, and I believe the Bulldogsstill with two time outs. They do
have two time outs. Two receiverseither side. Drew Gangliano lined up here
to the inside. Haven't seen hima lot out here. It'll be a

(01:16:34):
throat out of the backfield. Calvin. Hugley's got at Calvin inside the fifteen,
inside the ten, Calvin makes aman miss at the five, still
on his feet, pince his waydown and finally brought down. They'll blow
the whistle down at the six yardline. And it looked like somebody threw
Calvin down a little late. Andthe Bulldogs come in there with Percy Julian
and tying up. They're trying totake up for their teammate, and boy,

(01:16:54):
you gotta get these guys separated here. Officials number one Joshua, oh
my goodness, and Calvin comes uphobbling on the play too, and that's
not good to see as it standsa twelve yard pick up, third down
end goal from the six yard line, and there is a time out taken

(01:17:15):
by the Bulldogs. Coach Speakman wantsto get his team focused. Right here,
we'll head down on the field.Mack mccracking standing by for a four
Seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline report.Mac, big opportunity here to get some
more points. Yeah, that wasa big opportunity. That was a great
run right there by Calvin. Hewasn't down, by the way, that's
what coach Pegman's arguing about. Theyblew the whistle for you was even down.
So I'll check on him here ina minute. He came off the

(01:17:38):
field. It looks like it lookslike a little cramp right there, so
we should be we should be okaywith Calvin. Hey, nineteen seconds left,
plenty of time to get a touchdownhere, and I think they're gonna
do it boys. Yeah. Oncestill one time out right, Max?
Still one? Yeah? Yeah,we got one left? All right?
All right, thanks so much.Back mccracking on the sideline, brought to
you by four Seasons Federal Credit Union. We're gonna get another one here,

(01:17:59):
bat. I got my friend RoyParker here from Auburn University, one of
my good buddies, and good tohave you here, Roy, Thanks for
coming to the dog game. WarEagle trips receivers to the right side and
a single receiver here to the leftside. This will be a third and
goal play from the six yard line. Quick throw to the end zone,
and it's picked up by the generalshere and near sides. Got a lane

(01:18:20):
down the twenty five and Gagliano knockshim out of the twenty six yard line,
and flags come at the end hereas we've got players tying up here,
multiple ex player We're down all right. Now, We've got a player

(01:18:45):
that got knocked out of bounds.Gagliano made a clean play, tackled him
out of bounds on the interception. The player took a fence, got up
here on the near side in theopen like a sideline amongst a bunch of
players. And I will say this, I'll credit the Julian coaches across the
way they kept their players on thesidelines. You didn't want to see him

(01:19:08):
run across the field. And andI know that can be hard to do.
Our coaches did a good job too. Just a tough situation, got
tempers flairing. And you know, one of their players from the league,
from from Julian took a big hitand Gagliano gave him a shine. He
tried to get him out of bounds. That was what he You know,

(01:19:29):
there's nothing malicious about the hit,Junior. Did you get hurt down there?
I think Mac mac trying to tryingto make sense of everything down there
on the sidelines. Make I knowofficials are coming together, but this is
gonna be a multitude of flags here. Yeah, I just let him sort
it out. You're right though,Just you know, tempers flairing on the
sideline, pushing the shove, andI did not see a punch thrown on

(01:19:51):
either side, mac am, Iright on that. Yeah, I didn't
see one of either. They're justgonna try to sort it out. But
you know, hey, you knowthe Julian coaches they got over there and
and and you know, smooth thething out too, along with old Balika.
So head cooler heads will prevail. The original uh play was a defensive

(01:20:11):
play. It was on them seethere there, that's what I thought,
and then after that I don't know. So it was a defensive hold on
the interception board, there was ablocking the back back blocking the back on
the return, so this will beafter the interception. So the interception is
gonna stand regardless here. That's great, all right, We'll try to sort

(01:20:34):
it out. Were just eleven secondsleft here. An interception in the end
zone thrown by Gagliano brought back bythe league has caused a little stoppage and
play here. That and that thenthat that's all the penalties there were.
Okay, So after the interception returnedback here on the near sideline, there
was a hit by Gagliano that causedthe tempers to flare from the Julian player

(01:20:55):
on the interception. A couple ofBulldog players and a couple of Percy Julian
players tied up here on the sidelines. But it looks like the penalty will
just be against Percy Julian and thatwill bring Quay Everett out on the field
to try to get an explanation.Wants to know maybe why there was no
personal foul call it on Opalaika here. It's too too difficult for us to

(01:21:23):
try to sort out. I cantell you that much. But coach McCracken,
if you're coach Everett on the fromthe far side, you'd like an
explanation too. You know they sawthose flags fly. You want to know
what was going on. I thinkthat coaches need to be glad halftimes almost
here so we can go in andmake an adjustments. That is true.

(01:21:43):
Shotgun snap. Quarterback Everett throws andit is in and out of the hands
of his intended receiver Jaden Hill.He was open, just could not connect.
Clock stout with just five seconds lefthere in a twenty four nothing ball
game. Opalika with the lead herelate second quarter, Jaden Hill bull complete
second down. Ken reminder here athalftime, we'll have the Spirit of the

(01:22:06):
South Marching Band's halftime show for you. Bring you that audio, and those
that are watching on the NFHS network, we'll get a chance to hear and
see those listening to us on ninetyseven point seven Kicker f Em and on
the iHeart radio app, we'll geta chance to listen. In probably one
final play here for Juliana handoff straightup the middle. Nice hit there.
Jackson Kilcrease comes up and knocks JavarianRodgers down. That will be the end

(01:22:29):
of the first half of play andour score is a end of the locker
room twenty four to nothing. Reminder, coming out of the half, we'll
get a chance to speak with Keedcoach Eric Speakman. Our halftime interview is
brought to you by Hyundai of albertThat will be coming up on the other
side of the half right now, twenty four nothing or halftime lead. We'll
take a break, come back witha Spirit of the South marching band here

(01:22:51):
at Bulldog Stadium. You're listening toplike a Bulldog football here on the kicker.
We are back here at Bulldog Stadium. Good crowd still hanging in here
is ready for the second half ofplate. Twenty four to nothing in our
score, Opalaika did defer to thesecond half, so the Bulldogs will get
the football to start the second half. Halftime again brought to you by our
friends of Gory's Furniture, locally ownedand operated by Jim and Pam Gory.

(01:23:12):

Tally Khon co Op at Interstate intersectionrather of eighty one and Highway fourteen in
Nolda, Sauga. They also havean Elmore County's Farmers co Op location in
with Tumco. All right, CoachMcCracken, here we go, getting ready
for the second half. Bulldogs willget the football to start something, coach,
feels a little different when it's thirtyone to nothing rather than twenty four

(01:23:56):
to nothing. Maybe quickly we canget that score changed around to thirty one
to nothing. There. Yeah,we had we had our chances, you
know, we had the ball withthree four minutes and then two minutes and
couldn't get it done. But hey, I'll take twenty four right now.
All right? The Phoenix haven't lineup and teed up they'll kick from left

(01:24:19):
to right as we start the secondhalf, end over and kick well,
kick, good kick right at theeleven yard line returnable. Miller's got a
seam here near side across the thirtyfive and lost the football, but it's
scoots out of bounds. I thinkhe was down anyway, but they're not
gonna call him down and may havebeen coming out as he went to the

(01:24:39):
ground. I thought the ground mayhave cost it, but they're gonna mark
it down and around the thirty ninethirty eight yard line depending on the spot.
Here, we gotta hold on tothe football. Van can't be fumbling
kicking balls like that anyway. Wegot pretty good field position here. That's

(01:25:00):
a nice return, but hang onto the football. Sign dogs will have
it from their own thirty eight yardline. As we start the second quarter,
twenty four nothing our score and we'rejust underway. Here is getting set
and getting started here between the secondquarter between Opelaika and Percy Julie informally Robert
E Lee and Gangley. I knowwe'll start with two receivers either side and
they whistle and a flag on theplay. I don't know what it's a

(01:25:25):
delay a game against Opelaika. Wow, goodness, great speakman coming over.
And they didn't they didn't start toadd that. Boy. They just spotted
the football, I know. Andthen the guy calls delay of the game.
I think they're gonna I think they'reconversating about this one. I think
this is gonna be waved off.Yeah, he picked it up. I

(01:25:46):
don't think they started the play clockright because Coachy just spotted the ball and
then they called de lay a game. But I saw the flag. But
anyway, all right, no flagon the play. First and ten dogs
from there on thirty eight yard line. Gagliano gets the snap the handoffice to
Calvin nice move right side, Hecuts it left and he's hit at the
forty one yard line before being pushedout of bounds by a convoy Julian Phoenix

(01:26:15):
right guard Brandon Fears pulled around thereand made a great block up to the
forty five yard line. Play goodfor seven yards though it'll set up second
down and three. He's number sixtynine, the senior six foot two ninety
five. Gagliano out of the shotgun. They'll hand it this time. It's
to Jordan Waits, bounced off atackle left side and Jordan stays on his

(01:26:36):
feet across midfield and Jordan's got thefirst down to the general forty nine yard
line. That's a Lambert transferring storagefirst down by Jordan. Waite's tough running
by the sophomore who picks up sixyards. Right effort by the Southamore five
eight one hundred and forty five poundsdid a great job. First and ten

(01:26:56):
Opelika to the Julian forty nine yardline, trips left side, single receiver
to the right. They'll hand itoff to Weights again. This time he's
wrapped up and he'll lose two yardsback to the forty nine yard line.
So that time, the sophomore hewas wrapped up right out of the gates
there. Yeah, I think ifyou know what, if Roman had kept
that ball and come out this way, he'd had a big play. But

(01:27:19):
I don't think they had the optionpart of it that in that running play
the sophomore, our junior rather ChristopherJohnson of Percy Julian coming up with that
tackle. Bulldogs from their own fortynine. After that loss on the play,
it will be second down and attwelve for Gagliano, he'll bring Miller

(01:27:42):
in motion, fakes it to Miller. Now Gagliano steps up in the pocket,
throws one deep down field. He'sgot Rody Jones touchdown inside the Bardown
good Dogs. Rody Jones for aforty nine yard touchdown. Catch Roman Gagliano
with a arm shot to the endzone. There's a flag in the end

(01:28:04):
zone. I think this may beafter the play on Percy Julian. Boy.
That was a beautiful throw right there. You don't make them no better
than that right there, Van Romangaglianold up Brody Jones forty nine yard touchdown
throwing cats. That is Brody's firsttouchdown. He just missed one last week.

(01:28:26):
He got it down to the one. But he gets his touchdown reception
this week and big forty nine yarder. Billy joined you to take that boy
out for a steak dinner tomorrow. Now, flat catch, that's beautiful.

(01:28:51):
So here's the point after a tentphThis will be Will Carroll coming into a
timph to point after and the kick. I don't know there was some timing
issues there, but it's line driveinto the defense that was coming in on
that one. I think there wasa miscommunication on the snap in the placement,

(01:29:12):
that was just all discombobulated, asyou could say, coach, and
that extra point attempt, no goodscore and drive though powered by our friends
at Opelaca Power Services hometown people workingfor you online at Opelika power dot com.
Dog stretched. The lead was sixon the big forty nine yard touchdown
throw from Gagliano to Brody Jones. You're listening to Bulldog football. Here on
the kicker, there was a penaltyflag on Percy Julian and now this will

(01:29:45):
be a kick or actually it mayhave been a celebration penalty against Opelanka because
the Dogs got backed up to thetwenty five to kick this one off and
it's caught at the fifteen yard line. Here on the return by the Phoenix,
hit at the thirty five and finallybrought down up around the thirty seventh
thirty eight yard line. So I'mnot sure it must have been a celebration
penalty, coach on the Bulldogs.Maybe they're in the end zone. Yeah,
and you don't need that. Wedon't need to have any penalties like

(01:30:09):
that. After that great play bythe whole offense that was super throw and
catch. Our offensive play of thegame brought to by Kenny Knox Tire the
Tireman and Valley Alabamas At seventy sevenon vinety five five James drive in Valley,
He's the place to go for tiresbreaks and oil changes. Make that
drive up to Valley, Alabama tosee the Tireman, Kenny Knox Tire Sporter.

(01:30:30):
They'll put like a Bulldogs first downin ten for Percy Julian from the
thirty eight yard line option play quarterbackrun pass option. He'll throw this time
and it is caught inside the fortyyard line, and they're gonna mark him
out of bounds where they actually markit down. They went out of bounds

(01:30:51):
right at the forty, but they'regonna give him the thirty seven yard line.
Good execution for twenty five yard pickup. Come on, guys,
don't let them have anything else righthere. Let's go. So first down
Percy Julian nine fifty nine remaining herein this third quarter. Now they'll line

(01:31:11):
up with trips receivers to the rightside. Quarterback Bryson McGrew out of the
shot gun formation, gets it quickthrow here to the nearest side to Darby.
Darby cuts it at the thirty fiveand down to the thirty four yard
line, and he'll pick up justthree yards on the throw and catch.
So second down and seven up cominghere for Percy Julian. Good job by

(01:31:39):
the front court ingram over here,Carson Moss. I don't know what they're
talking about here. They a whitehat is in there, huddled up around
the Percy Julian players. The flaghas been waved off. I'm not sure
what the flag was, but itwill be a second down and right at

(01:32:04):
seven yards coming up here for thePhoenix. As the Paul spotted down at
the thirty four yard line, nineforty six flock starts back running here in
the third quarter, open like aleading Percy Julian thirty to nothing. Two
receivers check that trips receivers now tothe right side of the field, wide

(01:32:25):
side. Now they'll send one receiverback to the left, so two now
either side here For Bryson McGrew, the junior quarterback, he gets the snap,
pump fakes, wants to take ashot deep. He's got a man
wide open inside the tin, buthe overshot and wide receiver and right now,
coach the secondary he's living on theedge right now, they're learning some
lessons and not getting the touchdowns thrownon them. But you know, against

(01:32:46):
some of these good teams down thestretch, those plays are gonna buy them.
Number twenty nine and I think, did you not say a few minutes
ago he's a ninth grader? LelandBell is a something. Yeah, there
was, actually, ah, therewas. There was a freshman actually in
there earlier on defense. Yeah,Leland. He ran right by Leland.

(01:33:08):
Then we're very lucky, so somiscommunication there in the assignments and the secondary
Dogs lived to play another down herethough, third and eight, Percy Julian
Tromp's back, McCrow steps up inthe pocket, throws, it's tipped in
the air and it's picked off againby the Bulldogs. Dogs coming up with
another interception, and that is pickedoff by number thirteen Tyrese Pitts for the

(01:33:30):
Bulldogs. The junior gets in thirdinterception today. I missed who tipped that
one, coach, and maybe MacMcCracken had a view on that one.
Mac, did you see who tippedin? No? I didn't. I
just saw Pitts with the pick. There you go, hey, third one
right there? Who was it?There you go, Pitts with the pig.
So right now, Tyrese, he'sgot one interception. You've got Covante

(01:33:53):
White with an interception, and thenalso Kayden Harris with an interception. So
three interceptions today by this bullet dogdefense and the Bulldogs offits. Now we'll
turn it over. Look at thatlittle ball Who is that little ball boy?
Ship speakman right there, that's that'sthat's that's coach speakman. Jungas there,
that's ship He can run now hecan. He's a ball player.

(01:34:15):
Look at him. Dogs have itfrom their own thirteen yard line. Now
Gagliano hands it off here, runningright shide and up across the twenty after
the twenty one. Now, thisis number forty one for the night and
has been a jersey swap on thisone, so number forty one. Ja
ViOn Williams, a senior he normallyis wearing number five, had a jersey

(01:34:40):
swap tonight. So that's Javion Williamson the cab. But there was a
flag on the play and holding penaltyagainst the Dogs, so that will back
it up seventy yards and penalties,I know, coach speakman, are not
gonna like that no, he willnot. Nine oh five left in our
third quarter for Lincoln yard and theball was spotted down at the six yard

(01:35:05):
line, so this will be ourfirst down, first and fifteen here for
the Bulldogs. Hand off left sideand on the carry again was Javan Williams
and not much there. He pickedup maybe two yards on the play,
and this will set up another seconddown and long second down and fourteen coming

(01:35:31):
up here for the Bulldogs. Eightthirty six remaining here in our third quarter.
Rock to you by Tally Khan Farmer'sco Op. Time out on the
field, and I'm not sure ifthis timeout was taken by it. We'll

(01:35:54):
be taken by opelikas. So theDogs are gonna take a time out here.
Think this over. Second down andfort team coming up for the Bulldogs.
When play resumes here at Bulldog Stadium, we'll take a quick break.
You're listen to the Bulldog football here. On the kick out of the time

(01:36:15):
out for the Bulldogs, Opelik willhave second down in fourteen. They got
eight twenty one remaining here in ourthird quarter of play, Dogs leading thirty
to nothing, and the Dogs witha second down and fourteen from their own
eight yard line out of the shotgun, Roman Gagliano play action out of the

(01:36:36):
backfield and they'll throw it this sideto Miller near side and he's out of
bounds across the tent and they markhim down at the eleven yard line.
Will be a two or three yardpickup. Nothing to the edges coach mccracking
against this person Julian defense to alot of speed, especially when you throw
the ball into the boundary like that. You don't have a lot of a

(01:36:56):
lot of green grass to run.And they they stopped out when pretty easy.
Dog pad on their feets, hangingin there tonight tearing on the bulldogs.
This will be a third and elevenand we got movement. It looks
like on the defense, I fencepointing at the defense, defense pointing at
the offense. Here we'll see orthe defense jumped first. It just gotta

(01:37:20):
find out how far the defense jumpedacross if they if they went into the
neutral zone wild and then the offensecame across. It's a white house,
says off sides against Percy Julia. So that will be a big five yard
penalty and this will make it abouta third and six for Opelika as they

(01:37:40):
move the ball up to the sixteenyard line, so around a third and
six coming up here for the Bulldogs. Two receivers either sign and here's a
handoff to Javan Williams and he's gonnabe stopped right at the twenty yard line,

(01:38:01):
but going to be short of thefirst down by a couple of yards
here, so it's gonna be fourthand two. There it comes to punting
team seven fifty eight running clock inRoman Gagliano gonna drop back to punting away
Percy, Julian gonna try to setup a return. Julian deep man back

(01:38:33):
around the forty yard line to awaitthis one from Roman Gagliano and Roman kind
of shank that one a bit hikind of a end over end kick,
but takes a pretty good little bouncethough towards midfield, depending on where the
official comes up in March, Sister, he didn't get he didn't get all
at it, so we'll have towait to see officially where they market official

(01:38:56):
on the far side keeps walking upto about the forty five yard line,
and that's where the Phoenix will startfirst and at ten at bull in Bulldog
territory, so good field position herefor Percy Julian at the forty five of
Opelaca seven twenty six left here inthis first half of play or sits a

(01:39:18):
third quarter of play and McGrew inthe phoenix with the football at the Opeaca
forty five Jordan Stenson, Anthony Berney, Cody Johnson, Tremaine Thomas in the
in game quarterback nearly lost at McGrewsomehow stayed on his feet as Amari Smiley
was pressuring. He tried to dumpit to his tight end and it's incomplete

(01:39:45):
that was intended for his tight end. Number eighty eight or this roster somebody
handed us coach for Percy Julian's notin numerical order. Good luck track in
these players down goodness, yeah,we got Sophmore's Sophmore, Anthony Bernie,

(01:40:06):
and Cody Johnson in there, seconddown to ten play at the opera of
forty five. McGrew steps back, looks near far side of the field and
he throws far side and it hashauled in and it is caught by number
twelve Johnny Darby near the first downmarker. They're gonna mark him about a
yard shy though, it'll be thirdand one at the thirty six yard line

(01:40:30):
and nine yard throwing catch. It'sgot Percy Julian set up third and one
Anthony Opalaca thirty six. See thatdog front there. Cauld get some pressure
here on Bryce and McGrew. Bryceand McGrew out of the shotgun here on
third and one. Hello, theirwide receiver started early. No flag though,
and they'll throw it out of theflats and the back's got it down

(01:40:51):
the sidelines for the first down. That's complete too. We got a flag
over here, ye number seven,Antoine Barnes. As it stands right now,
it'll be a first down. We'llsee if somebody lined up. That
flag came from the line, judgefrom the opal like a sideline, and

(01:41:13):
this one's coming back whatever it isa legal procedure against. So there was
movement coach from that wide receiver, and I believe they did finally they saw
it. I did not see theflag throne, but the wide receiver definitely
jumped early, and that's what theycall. Al Malik and u Jakaiah back

(01:41:33):
in the game are two inside guys. So this should be a third down
and six now coming up for PercyJulian clock stops seven h seven to go
and they thirty to nothing lead herefor opel Like at Bulldog Stadium, first
home game of the season on ahome crowd we've had here tonight. Coach

(01:41:55):
excellent. You know it's been beensince middle of October last year since a
home game here Bulldog Stadium trips tothe right singer receiver left side. McGrew
gets the snap, drops back, floats one here towards the black a sideline.
Had again a receiver Jalen Gill witha step on the defender, but
again overshot him and it's incomplete.Fourth down coming up here for the Phoenix

(01:42:20):
Bulldog fans, don't forget rentals outdoorslocally on hunting, fishing, archery and
outdoor store to take care of allyour outdoor sporting needs. Rentals outdoors off
Geneva Street in Opalaika. They're gonnago fart vane. They bring the offense
back out of this point. You'rein opal like a territory. At the
forty one yard line. You've gotsix yards to go. Whine On trips

(01:42:45):
to the right, single receiver left. McGrew drops back, throws one across
the middle tipped and is that oneintercepted, Yes, sir, it is
picked up by the Bulldogs. Anotherinterception by Opalaika, and that interception was
picked off by number forty Kavon King, a junior defensive back. So another

(01:43:10):
interception by the Bulldogs. Five tenone sixty five junior. Nice play.
So that one picked up by numberforty Kavon King, a junior defensive backs.
Coach mccrack had mentioned there, andthat is the fourth interception by the
Bulldogs. That's four turnovers two.So one of those young guys getting in

(01:43:32):
there with a chance on an interceptionand Gagliano on the offense, come back
out with a thirty point lead here, thirty to nothing, six fifty three
remaining here in this third quarter, and the Dogs have it from their own
twenty four yard line, first downand ten Gagliano with two receivers either side,
he'll hand it to the back whocarries up close to the thirty yard

(01:43:54):
line. That was Jordan Wakes onthe kerry. They'll mark him down shy
of the thirty yard line for ait's like about a five yard pick up
up to the twenty nine yard line. The Dogs go fast here second and
five. Gagliano throws into the flatsto Miller and he's hitting right when he
caught the ball, and that's gonnabe a loss of a couple And again,

(01:44:16):
a negative play follows a good play. And we had a wide out
didn't block anybody out there. I'dheard us see him. You're gonna throw
that little swing pass in the flats. Your wide receivers out there got to
plot third out and seven. Fourof the Bulldogs from the twenty seven yard

(01:44:39):
line, pullocking from their own twentyseven. They'll have trips to the right,
single receiver here to the near side. Gagliano directed his tail back.
Gagliano drops back, pump, thinkboy, he had pressure now, Gagliano
wise, it will take off andhe slides short of the first down,
got hit as he went to theground. No flag, I don't see

(01:45:00):
well the first see Julian coaching staffwas upset thinking there may be a flag
following, but I did not seeone. But Gagliano slid just shy in
the first down. Marker did takethat hit. But it's gonna be fourth
down and along three yards coming uphere for the Bulldogs, and I hope
all I ain't gonna be forced topunt it away again. Gagliano just had

(01:45:20):
pressure and that one, that onebroke down in a hurry. I think
Coach Speakman coming over and having aword with the official about maybe that hit
too. Is quarterback there, Max'sover there in the huddle. We'll finally
we'll get some clarification from from Macas well on that. Weren't you gotten

(01:45:41):
down there? Mac? Mac downin the huddle once you got Mac four
seasons Federal Credit Union sideline report.Yeah, I think that's what they were
talking about. The hit. Sojust making sure it's stay safe down there,
all right, thank you, Mack. Five forty one remaining here in
this third quarter of the fourth downand the Dogs have to punt it back

(01:46:03):
again here and coach, you knowyou got a comfortable lead, but you
still you're concerned about some things offensively, just not how smooth things have been
operating. You'd like to see alot of more things, but there's been
some positive things in the offense again, the big pass plays, but the
consistency running the football. I knowit's going to be a concern for coach
Speakman and the staff as ahead inthe next week. Yess her second half

(01:46:27):
where the first five minutes is overand neither team has really done much with
the football, but played pretty gooddefense, so you know, neither side
scored, so we just gotta kindof put it on the offense is to
do better. Gagliano gets the snap, This one a lot better punt high
knuckler inside the forty eight, bouncesand it stays in bounds, and boy,

(01:46:47):
it just hitting one to coach McCracken'sdrive shots on a par five and
took a big old roll down tothe sixteen, all the way down to
the fifteen yard line. Of course, I wish I could hit my par
from hey man, if I canhit a two hundred yards, I'm happy.
Boyle boy, that one all theway unto the fifteen for a fifty
four yard punt there from Roman Gangliano. How about that? So nice funt

(01:47:11):
there by Roman Gagliano. Southeastern LandGroup the name to remember if you're considering
purchasing or selling rural land in theSoutheast. Contact your local Southeastern Land grant
Brokers. That's Brian Watts or JohnHarden. When it's time to buy or
sell land. Southeastern Land group, proud supporters. They open like a bulldogs.
We got our two little guys insidethis time. Bernie and Johnson back

(01:47:35):
in there. Stenson and Smiling areback in there. The means Julian from
the fifteen trying to set up ascreen. They dumped it off to the
back Rodgers and he's got some opengrass ahead and he takes off across the
thirty five and he gets them closeto the forty yard line. He's marked
down at the thirty nine yard line. That's gonna be a twenty four yard

(01:48:01):
pick up. First down on fourof the Generals. First down and ten
Percy Julian from their own thirty nineyard line as a wide things down under
five minutes to go here in thisthird quarter of old Dogs, still with
a thirty to nothing lead, stillpitching that shutout. But right now Percy
Julian first and ten from their ownthirty nine. I grew out of the

(01:48:29):
shot gun, gets the snap playaction throws. That one was tipped at
the line of scrimmage. Job andI think that one was tipped by Coleman
Massey coming off the edge pressure inthere. A senior five nine, one
hundred and sixty five down, SeniorColebyn Massey in there with a tip second
down and ten four Percy Julian againfrom their own thirty nine yard line burn

(01:49:00):
Dothan gag tied up fourteen fourteen Jason, I believe so versus Julian rolls here
to the near side and throws forthe first down at the forty yard line.
That pass was hauled in by numberseventeen Jalen Gill, and they'll mark
him down at the forty yard line. That's a twenty one yard throwing catch

(01:49:20):
and another first down here for thePhoenix Leyland bail on that tackle the sophomore.
Good stuff there by Leland, firstdown and ten at the open like
a forty yard line. A coupleof big plays, a screenplay and that
big first down throw keeps this drivegoing here for the Generals, first and

(01:49:44):
ten quarterback keeper and McGrew baked itoutside, went inside as he's down to
the thirty five yard line for afive yard pick up. Got tremone,
Tremaine Thomas and Jordan Stints and thenthere Dan's got our second group been there.
Four thirteen clock continues to run. It'll be second down in five coming

(01:50:06):
up. Here for Percy Julian atthe OPENACA thirty five yard line. So
auburd and Dothan our tide at fourteenand the third quarter, we're checking on
the Auburn Banks scoreboard. Two receiverseither side and McGrew gets the snamppump left,
goes Dinks a deep shot far sideline. A lot of tugging going onto

(01:50:30):
that far side. Good coverage thereby the Bulldogs, and in coverage there
was JaMarcus Phillips. That's a goodjob. It looked like they're guy was
kind of pulling on JaMarcus. Didn't. Yeah, JaMarcus and Johnny Darby,
we're going end over there, right, So this will be third and five
coming up here for Percy Julian. You know they're in four down territory there
at the OPENACA thirty five, soyou might as well go on and get

(01:50:53):
ready. Two down, two downterritory. That's right, here's Percy Julian.
Two receivers actually trips to the left, single receiver right inside, a
handoff and a good run there by. The tailback for the first down on

(01:51:15):
that run was number seven, thatis Antoine Barnes. For the first down,
he carries it down to the twentynine yard line. That was a
pick up of six yards and eightedfive. He picked up a yard extra
there and enough of the first down, so the Phoenix keep their drive going.
Three twenty seven left third quarter tripsagain left single receiver here to the

(01:51:38):
near side. McGrew gets the handoff, faked it to the back, throws
out on the far side. Ithas caught, turned up field inside the
twenty five and down to the twentyfour yard line. On that reception was
number fourteen Jaden Hill and it's goodfor six yards down to the twenty four
yard line. Second and four underthree minutes to go here in the third

(01:52:01):
quarter. A little spateman can run, I'm telling you. I will tell
you one thing, coach ship speakmancan play some play some ball now and
he's fast. Football is bigger thanhim. Go. There's his high snap
and hand off to the tailback JaverianRogers straight ahead. It's gonna be short

(01:52:23):
of the first down, but hepicked up three yards. It will be
third and one. To tell youabout the ball group down there, I
believe he got Houston Prescott down there. That is Griffin Speakman and ship Speakman
Griffin is our quarterback for the OpeacaFalcons, and Houston's going to be one
of our alignment for the Opalaca Falconsat eight and nine year old football.
So ship I dressed him out,but he's too young. Third down play,

(01:52:44):
Hi going up for it and thatis incomplete, boy, and throw
across the middle, and that defensiveback is going to be shaking up for
the Bulldogs. And that wide receivercomes up a little hobbily as well,
trying to see exactly that was numberthirteen who went up top that one for
the Bulldogs. That was Tyrese Pitts. He came down, I believe just
had the breath knocked out of him. But that was a fourth down play.

(01:53:08):
Say, little ships bakeman is notold enough to play. He can't
quite you know, ships only insecond grade. No, no, actually
ships in first grade. Ships infirst grade. So he can't quite play
tackle football. But I'm telling youif you suited him up right now,
he'd be ready to go. He'sout there at practice. I thought he
shoulder pads if he was eligible.Yeah, to see him running their balls

(01:53:29):
on and off the field. Allright, So this is fourth down coming
up here for Percy Julian, butthere will be a time out on the
field. We'll take it with himto one fifty eight left here in the
third quarter, thirty to nothing ourscore, and a fourth down coming up
for the Phoenix as they try tokeep their drive alive. When we come
back out of the time out,it'll be a fourth down play here for
Percy Julian. They've got those fourreceivers stacked to the right. Shine McGrew

(01:53:50):
gets the snap, drops back throwsacross the middle and in and out of
the hands again by Percy Julian.Another drop pad by his wide receivers that
was in and out of the handsof his intended white out number eighty one,
where it's a great pass through thatright on the money. That was
Ashton Walker, the intended receiver. He was in the end zone and it

(01:54:14):
went in and out of his hands, intended target there right in the end
zone. Incomplete. So that's aturnover on downs and Opelika will come out
with a football and the Dogs willhave it from their own thirty two yard
line and we'll see Roman Gagliano comeback out to run this offense here up
thirty to nothing here with one fiftytwo left in the third quarter. Two

(01:54:35):
receivers here to the near side, and Gagliano gets the snap, hands at
Javian Williams. He's tackled in thebackfield by Elijah Gross, the linebacker,
and another big loss on the play. And that loss all the way back
to the sixteen yard line. Andthat's that's a big loss on the play

(01:54:59):
there. That's a loss of sixyards. Trying to run that ug that
outside stretch play over there to theright side and roam. I don't think
it's an option, but w didn'tblock anybody on the right side. Then
two receivers to the left side andnobody to the right. Gagliano play action

(01:55:21):
this time, wants to throw andhe's got Miller caught it. Heit he
hang on, yes, sir,he did to the forty three yard line.
Not a board now mark him actuallydown at the forty five yard line.
One a catch, great throwing catsright there all the way up to

(01:55:42):
the forty four yard line. Lamberttransferring storage first down, two receivers left
side. Gagliano out of the shotgun, high snap, gets it, throws
to Miller here near side, andMiller made a man miss. He's got
the sidelines across the forty and hefinally was forced out of bounds, I
believe by his own balance there atthe thirty seven yard line. And a
big pick up there for the Bulldogsfor another first down, and that's good

(01:56:06):
for eighteen yards and a Lambert transfercheck then nineteen yard and a Lambert transfer
and storage first down. Two greatthrows right there, great catches by Miller,
both of them. Forty five secondsleft here in the third quarter at
the thirty seven of Percy Julian handoffto Williams, and Williams juked a man

(01:56:28):
at the thirty one yard line andgets down to the thirty yard line for
a seven yard pick up, andhe'll be close to another first down.
Twenty eight seconds, twenty seven secondsstill winding off the clock. Here,
gonna be a second down and fourcoming up here for the Bulldogs. Under
twenty and the Dogs hurrying back upto the line with two receivers to the

(01:56:50):
right side. Jordan Waits checks Innoththe tailback spot. Waits gets this handoff
and he has wrapped up in thebackfield and there is a flag on the
play, and that tackle was madequickly by number thirty three, George Hunter.
So we'll wait and see what exactlythe penalty was. Clock has stopped

(01:57:11):
here with eight seconds left in thethird quarter. Mac, did you see
what the penalty flag was or didthey wipe it all? Jesus, I
think they wiped it off. HowI believe it was defensive holding. Now
they're gonna mark this all. Soit was defensive holding against Percy Julia our
personal foul. That's a fifteen yardpenalty all the way down to the fifteen

(01:57:32):
yard line now, so that wasa big one there. He has one
of those linemen, he talked inone of those linemen. They must have
done something. Yeah, And ahobble player there for a quick injury time
out. Brian Darian Hooks comes offthe field, a little hobble. Let's
go down the field for a sidelinereport. Mac mactt was, it'd be

(01:57:55):
good to punch another one in,maybe a couple more here before we wrap
this one up today. The sidelinesthey're getting antsy, they're wanting another touchdown.
But you know, we keep sputteringright there and we just ain't been
able to get in. But youknow, I think we're gonna get it
in here and hey, good, you know, good things happen. We're
still playing hard and you know, lucky it'll luckily that guy from Lee dropped

(01:58:16):
that wide open path right there. But hey, kept the goose egg up
on the scoreboard. So mag Wegot an update from down in the wiregrass.
Dothan game winning field goal blocked, headed to overtime. Hey, we've
been there and done that. Yep. So Dothan had a potential game winner
blocked and they head to overtime. Now that is the end of the third

(01:58:36):
quarter, out of the time out, and they ran the rest of the
eight seconds off and we head tothe fourth quarter here at Bulldog Stadium thirty
to nothing, our lead over thePercy. Julian Phoenix says. The Bulldogs
have the lead as we head tothe fourth and final quarter. You're listening
top like a Bulldog football here onthe kicker starting the fourth quarter here Bulldog

(01:59:01):
Stadium. Opelika to start in thefourth quarter with a first down and ten
at the fifteen yard line of Percy. Julian Gangliano gets the hands the ball
to Weights. He's inside the fiveWeights will tiptoe his way in the end
zone. Jordan Waits with the OLPAlike a touchdown. Well, eleven fifty
five left in the ball game. The Dogs try to set lead thirty seven

to nothing. Jordan Wakes with hisfirst touchdown of the season. Boy has
a beautiful run by the soft porefive eight one five right up the tubes
man right right behind Kyle et Personand Traymond Thomas and Parker kill Chris great
blocking up front. All right, let's see a thing. Get the timing

(01:59:43):
down here for Will Carroll Hill atempt the point after a tempt. Last
one was block to hold down onthis one is good and the kick is
up and the kick is good,So a lot cleaner on that one.
Thirty seven nothing our score, elevenfifty five left, end the ball game.

one of them in the ends onetonight except one. I believe Spirit of
the South marching band. You canhear them playing tonight. Boy, it's
good to hear that full band overhere on the home side tonight. Two

(02:01:17):
receivers right sign mc grew throws triesto set up a wide receiver screen.
That one read nicely over there onthe defensive side as Coleman Massey comes up
and makes the tackle for the Bulldogstall our number two defense in front Jordan
Stenson, Bernie Johnson, and ThomasThey marked the ball at the twenty five

(02:01:40):
yard line. Three tenth graders atA and a senior. A. Grew
throws at one time, nearly pickedoff well defended by Devin Dixon. It
will fall incomplete third down at fiveeleven, twenty seven left in the ball
game. We'll see a new groupchecking in here. Mary Smiley was coming
in. Coach says, no,no, Marie, come back out.

(02:02:00):
Jordan Stinson checks in, and alsoalong that front over there, as coach
mentioned, we got some you guysover there. Number fifty Elijah Odin,
a freshman defensive end, checks inas well. Third down, and five
here for the Phoenix from their owntwenty five yard line. Same group for

(02:02:23):
Percy Julian that started the game. The grow drops back here on third down,
throws right at the thirty, rightat the sticks for the first down,
turns up field for an extra twoor three. After that was number
eleven. Jacob Jackson. Jacoby Jackson, you know you mentioned Jordan Stinson a
minute ago, his brother Jalen. If you watch the Duke cause the Duke
Clemson game last week, Jaalen pickedup at fumble and ran about sixty yards

(02:02:46):
down the right sidelines for Duke.I'm glad you brought that up, Coach.
I was gonna bring it up tonight. It seems like that was like
ten years ago, wasn't it?But yeah it was? Yeah. But
on Labor Day Monday, that nightgame there, great game. It was
big for Duke. There's a handoffleft side, Javerian Rogers carries for a
pretty good pick up there. Andwe mentioned that freshman he was in on

(02:03:10):
the stop there, Elijah Odin onthat one second down and two second down
two and the ball is up tothe forty two yard line. Another handoff
left side Rogers left side, closeto midfield. All these young uns are
getting plenty of playing time. That'sgood form to rest Thomas. Another freshman

(02:03:35):
in there on the stop there forthat one up to midfield though. Now
see if the youngsters can get astop here midfield. First and ten for
Percy Julie and ten twenty two leftin the ball game. Two receivers either
side. Late player nearly got onthe field for the Bulldogs. They're gonna
take a chump shot play deep. What a nice place defensively there buy the

(02:03:57):
Bulldogs. That was knocked away bynumber twenty five Cord Ingram very nicely,
as album was almost gonna be hauledin by number eleven Jacobe Jackson and Ingram
came in there and blocked it away. That's beautiful. Ten ten remaining here
in the ball game, thirty sevennothing again our score heres will play at

(02:04:17):
Bulldogs Stadium. Another shot play byPercy Julian, but a nice job defensively
there by by court Ingram. Thirtyseven nothing our score first in ten second
down and ten rather here for thePhoenix trips to the right side. This
will be a run pass option.Quarterback pulls it runs right now, thinks

(02:04:39):
about turning it up field, andthat one well defended there by the Bulldogs
court Ingram forces him out of boundsand they guy's a good play by cord
Dan. He turned it up field, ran down to the forty six yard
line, so he did pick upfour yards. But this will be a
third and six for the Phoenix asthey try to turn out find a way

(02:05:04):
to at least in this shut out. Here line up with two receivers here
to the left side, actually betrips receivers to the left side, singer
receiver to the right. Mc grewout of the shotgun here on third and

(02:05:25):
six, tromps back steps up,pump fakes. Pressure comes from the back
side, he turns it up field. He's got the sidelines, he's got
some speed, and he's got enoughof the first down. Wait and see
where they say he stepped out. They're gonna say he stepped out at the
thirty four yard line. So heran for twelve yards. He just out
ran Brayden Stintson, the junior. He was chasing him from behind, but

(02:05:47):
the speedy Bryson McGrew was able toturn it up field for the first down.
First and ten at the open likea thirty four defensive end on that
side loss contain. Then laying thatside, first and ten at the open
like a thirty four yard line, where Grew gets the snap, drops back
a little dump pass to the wideout to run it back out of the

(02:06:08):
flats, and he breaks a tackleinside the twenty and he's finally forced out
of bounds near the fourteen yard line. And that's enough for another first down.
That'll played good for close to eighteenyards and a first down four Percy
Julia at the fourteen yard line. Now mark him all the way at the

(02:06:29):
fourteen yard line. We're gonna leaveour leave. Our two is in there.
Nine twenty two left in this ballgame. Thirty seven nothing. Our score
two receivers either side getting the snap. Dropping back, they'll hand it to
the back out of the back field, breaking a tackle, breaking another tackle

(02:06:51):
as Antoine Barnes. Barnes is downto the five and that's close to another
first down. Wait and see there'sa flag though on the play back at
the thirteen yard line. Play WarnerMcDonald, a sophomore out there on the

(02:07:13):
play the illegal procedure against Percy Julian, So that will be a five yard
penalty and they'll replay first down backto the nineteen yard line. After the
penalty. I'm always good to seesome of the young guys getting a chance
and see if they can come upwith a big stop. You know,
they'd be fired up if they canhelp keep this shutout in tact. Coach

(02:07:36):
sir, Yes, sir, absolutely, coming to you for Northopedic Clinic Broadcast
Booth, East Alabama's go to centerfor orthopedic care. First and fifteen.
After that penalty at the nineteen ofOpelika and Lee's gonna take a time out,
time out on the field. Whilethere's a time out, we'll head
down for a four seasons Federal CreditUnion Sideline report. Mc McCracken standing by

(02:07:59):
Mack. Yeah, guys, hey, this it's kind of like the the
Jag game last week. You know, we got the number twos in and
and you know, I think theyexplored on us twice. Fan, But
you know, defensively, you know, I know the coaches, but I
know these players would love to stopthem from getting to that end zone and
here just getting as much work asthey can for the twos in here,

(02:08:20):
So you know, let's just hopewe can keep them out there. They'd
be a big victory for the forthe dogs. All right, thanks so
much, man, we're getting anupdate. Also, Dothan scores in the
first overtime period on their possession,So now Auburn's turn to see if they
can store. So they've got aa doozy going on down there at rip
Us tonight. Mac. Just tellyou Ben's getting beat down by Central.

(02:08:46):
Yeah. I think that's thirty fourto seven and late. You know,
I talked to I talked to Beingtoday and he just said, make Central's
offense is really, really, reallygood, and he said they got they
got a quarterback now and it's gonnabe tough to beat him. And I
mean he didn't lie, Oh hedidn't. They're playing good on the road
to it a tough place to play. Mc grew pump fakes on first down,

(02:09:07):
shotting towards the end zone, inand out of his hands. The
intended receiver, Johnny Darby, droppedit at the one. Boy, how
many drops is that tonight? Youknow I had a massy When he flips
on the film, you know, coach, he's gonna say, boy,
I'm glad we pitched to shut outthe boy. If these guys could catch,
they might have two or three scoreson the board. Well, we're
not getting any pressure on this quarterbackthrowing either, and they're getting the edge

(02:09:31):
on us. And you know theirones are just a little bit better than
our twos. But let's see ifwe can hold him here. So mcgrew's
pass incomplete, intended for Johnny Darby. It'll be second down in fifteen again,
Percy Julian at the nineteen of Opelikatrying to get a point on the
board here, and that does agood run play thereby Javerian Rogers as he

(02:09:54):
takes it all the way down andthey'll say he crossed the goal line for
the touchdown. He ran right side, made him and miss and he had
a good open scene there. That'sthe senior running back Javerian Rodgers still got
some gas here in the fourth quarteras he gets it in the end zone
or they say they they say touchdown. At least one person said touchdown.
I guess he did not make itin they call him short. Oh they've

(02:10:18):
got that one umpire signal. Touchdown. Yeah, it's six all right.
I was about to say it saidtouchdown and then they put fourth down.
Okay, anyway, that was veryodd. Everybody the first that Julia was
lining up line, they thought theywere short. But we'll see if they
attempt an extra point here or ifthey tried to go for two. They're

(02:10:41):
bringing in a kicking tee, soit looks like they will try to kick
the extra point. Elijah Grows normallydoes their place kicking duties and looks like
he will here at number five.Teed it up right in the middle of
the uprights. Here, straight backkicker here, no to the edge,
and there's a flag on the play. Eight twenty four left the play,

(02:11:09):
so Auburn high ties it up andhead to the second overtime. Okay,
the mark Mitchell hitting some scores inseventeen seventeen. Tied down there and Dothan
between Auburn High and Dothan thirty sevento six. Here our score and the

(02:11:30):
extra point attempt bobbled the snap andnow running towards the end zone and getting
the two point play on a onwhat you'd call the fire play, blah
blah babble snap. Javarian Riders, the running back though, was the holder,
and he wisely picked it up andhe ran it into the end zone,
to the corner of the end zoneand dove in as he took a
couple of shots and Percy Julian getseight points on the board. So we'll

(02:11:54):
take a quick time out and youlisten to the Bulldog football the phoenix on
the board with eight twenty four leftthe game, thirty seven eight our score,
Bulldogs on top. You're listening opelike a football. Here on the
kicker kickoff returnable by the Bulldogs hereand nearest sign Javan Williams makes a man

(02:12:15):
miss and Williams has a sideline. He's across midfield a foot race and he's
finally bumped from behind out of boundsand around the thirty five yard line,
a flag comes in, gonna bea late hit, I believe on Julian
we'll see but a big return thereby. Javan Williams wearing number forty one
tonight for the Bulldogs. Yeah,I think that is a late hit.

(02:12:37):
Ope like a fan. City ofOpelaca Mayor Gary Fuller, proud supporters of
opal Laca Schools. Go Dogs fromthe City of Opelaca. Mayor Fuller.
We will keep you a hot dognext home game. Don't you worry about
that. We got you covered.Eight thirteen left here in this ball game,
thirty seven eight. Percy Julian finallygetting on the scoreboard and Coach one

(02:13:00):
thing about these guys. You gottasay, there's just nobody on the sidelines
or Percy Julian to come in andgive these guys a break. This is
the first team pretty much. They'vebeen out there from the start to the
finish. And you see number twoJaverian Riders who just ran that one in.
He ran in the extra point, the two for the two point conversion
on a busted play. He's carriedthe ball how many times coachs today?

(02:13:20):
And then you know these guys justthey can't get a breather. So,
yeah, well, you look atcollege football teams that in second halves kind
of just run out of steam becauseonly playing like sixteen seventeen eighteen players because
of depth problems, and the samething in high school. It's the same
exact thing that dressed out like fortyeight player or something like that. Thirteen

(02:13:46):
left here in our ball game, thirty seven to eight, our score and
a time out on the field hereas they mark this off down to the
sixteen yard line. So the Bulletdogsare gonna be set up really nicely after
that return. So Auburn leading nowtwenty eight, twenty one second overtime dothing

(02:14:11):
ball. So we'll keep you updatedon that one. First time. We've
got a new quarterback. Yep,check it in the ball game now for
Opa Lanka. This is Lewis ManuelMurly So Murley out of the shotgun formation.
He's got two receivers to the leftside. That's number ten, isn't
it. Yep, that's Merle Murley. Okay, Yeah. Tyler Johnson still

(02:14:33):
suffering a thumb injury or finger injuryif some sort, so not quite ready
to come back there. Monte Richardsonis the tailback Richardson will get the hand
off in the backfield, trying tobounce it outside, but he cannot bounce
it outside because Joshua Whiting wraps himup in the backfield and White He's gonna
lose a couple of yards on theplate. We didn't block anybody on that

(02:14:56):
one. Now, Oh Dothan isscored and go one for two going for
the win. Seven fifty left herethirty seven eight are scored. Two receivers
to the left side, Richardson again, the tailback for Merley. Meurley gets
the handoff. Richardson gets the handoff, bounced it inside. Richards Arson makes
a man miss inside the ten.Richardson pull of the pile inside the five.

(02:15:18):
Richardson still walking it towards the inside. He's gonna get in there.
Touchsdown of Monte Richardson. Carry theteam with you, boy, My goodness,
Monte Richardson, he got hit atthe five yard line and he refused
to go down. The junior runningback five six, one hundred and forty
pounds. He looked like the incrediblehulk carrying the team and they drugging at

(02:15:41):
seven yards at the seven yard line. Holy smokes, why run by the
junior coach mccrackhead. That's awesome. Is he a one hundred and forty pounds
coach? He certainly wasn't running likehe was. I don't have his weight
on here. Well that's what hey, I'm gonna go with coach speaking.
That's what he's got on the rosterhere. But boy, he ran it

(02:16:01):
like he was a two two hundredand forty pound big guy. You know,
that was a great road extra pointattempt here for the Bulldogs. With
seven thirty three left in the game, Will Carroll's point after a tempt up
and good forty four to eight. The Dogs answered the score with a Monte

(02:16:22):
Richardson with a big run. Thereis a second group offense comes off the
field and they get some high fives. First one out there to greet him,
roaming Gagliano. Seven thirty three leftin the ball game, Quick time
out. You're listened to Bulldog footballhere on the kicker, I'm Jessica Boy.

(02:16:45):
Monte Richardson a seven eighteen yard touchdownrun. He got hit at the
six yard line. He carried thePercy Julian team with him into the end
zone for the touchdown. That scoreand drive Power by Friends and open like
a Power Services hometown people working foryou online and opelikapower dot com. Score
update from down South then Dothan,Dothan falls short. They went for two,

(02:17:07):
did not get it and the finalthere Auburn wins at twenty eight twenty
seven. Here it's forty four toeight Percy Julian on the kickoff by Sassena
short of the end zone and it'sbrought back up to the sixteen maybe the
seventeen yard line there and by thePhoenix that was number twelve on the return
there for Percy Julian. Johnny Darby, he's carried it a lot tonight as

(02:17:28):
well. That's a big win forAuburn down a quarterback going on the road
and getting a big road win thereand with a thriller in double overtime.
There's there's QB one for me coach. There's Griffin toted it off the field
there. So yeah, oh okay, I got chef, may have him
by step. I might have toget onto a next week at practice,

(02:17:50):
We'll say, younger brother looks likehe's flying up down the field on you
a little bit better coming off onthose on those ball returns seven twenty six
left end the ball game. We'llsee what Percy Julian has left here is
they've got it. First and tenfrom their own seventeen yard line. Brings
a man in motion does Magrew nowbrings him back out throw across the middle.

(02:18:11):
Slant pass point was wide open.Hill's got it for the first down
up to the thirty five yard lockso a first down there, grow path
thicking into four d gave Hill They'regoing to market at the thirty five yard
line. Eighteen yard pick up sevenoh six remaining here in this ball game,

(02:18:37):
forty four eight. Our score openlike a leading the phoenix of Percy
Julian shinegun stamp. First down handoffup the middle, and a nice job
there by that second group defense comingup and making a hit. Number forty
six Lakedrick Burke's a sophomore defensive endtrying to get some more names. Quinn

(02:19:03):
Edwards up there, a senior thatdoesn't get the first teen reps. Also
up there. Number forty three Retavianhowl on that defensive line. Second down

(02:19:24):
and eight for Percy Julian from theirown thirty seven yard line, Magrew throws
across the middle dangerous pass. Hehad his man though it was dropped by
Darby at the forty two yard lineor actually forty six yard line. Another
drop twelve Hi Julian So third downand eight six Z seven remaining Blake Johnson

(02:19:52):
or should I should say then swinka defensive back. Got those double numbers
number thirty in there in the secondaryas well, getting some play in and
there's a time out on the field. Those six o seven remaining sidelines will
go make mccracking four seasons. FederalCredit Union Sideline report. Mac Monte richardson
how many guys that they carry onthat touchdown run? Well, I'm gonna

(02:20:13):
ask coach BigMan that after the game. I mean, if you look at
for a side to encourage your ballplayersand encourage your season when you fix it
getting the thick part of that schedule, I mean, and what you said
the size, what is five fivenine one sixty five one fifty five and
he carried five six one forty yeahyou go, and he carried all eleven

(02:20:35):
uh well generals on the jerseys intothat end zone. That was amazing,
great show of strength and effort andthat really I mean that that that's just
your. That's just your. Imean, I gotta work for that.
That's just strong. That is,yeah, no doubt. Third down and
eight. A lot of youngsters outthere now is let's see if they can

(02:21:00):
make a big play here. Onthird down, Magrew Tromp's back throws one
deep and over shy Jacoby Axon againJackson had a step on the defense,
but not a well placed ball there. And it's fourth down. Well the
Phoenix go for it, coach,They're gonna punt it away. I think
they're gonna pun I think so.Well, it's been an exciting night tonight

(02:21:22):
on this Auburn Bank scoreboard. JasonLeesman up here working very hard getting to
see scores. In chambers of final. They defeat Crenshall Christian forty one to
fourteen. At least got a winnerover Morgan fifty one to seven. We
mentioned Auburn and went a thriller indouble overtime. They stop at two point
try for Dothan win at twenty eightto seven. Valley and Border Guard tied
at fourteen. Wow, what's agood one going on down the road in

(02:21:45):
the Guard tonight here six minutes leftthis one all open like a forty four
to eight Dogs awaiting the punt herefrom John Holman, who stands at the
twenty five yard line, gets thesnap, wobbly punt and Calton and just
hung on too there by Jamari Miller, but he hung onto it right at

(02:22:09):
the forty yard line, and theDogs will have the football. Look at
the little guy right there, that'sShip, right, you're getting a kick
out of Ship. What's he?By five? He's a little fella.
Now, yeah, Lee had toask coach speakman after the game. You
get you a full scattering report.Let me tell you, coach, boy

(02:22:31):
could play some baseball. He's abaseball star. Jason will tell you,
boy, he's been playing since hewas five out there at coach pitch at
Westbridge. He could play. Now, who's the other? Is that the
other little boy right there looking upthere at us? Is that? That's
the trio of them down there? There's three of'em right said? From
there on forty yard line. Here'sthe Bulldogs. Lewis Manual Meurley back out

(02:22:54):
at quarterback. Merley gets the snapand hands the ball off. This time
tailback carry and that is Leland Bellgetting to carry. And Bell's going to
be stopped short of the forty fiveat the forty four yard line. This
will be a second down in sixthplay, coming up five thirty two remaining

(02:23:15):
dogs just trying to run the remainderof this clock off. Lewis is a
tenth grader rock he is. Hewas the ninth grade quarterback last year.
He quarterback to middle school, seventhand eighth grade teams and kind a third
string in the depth chart right now, but getting the second tangross and he's
gonna pull it and run for it. And took a shot. Boy just
shot the forty five yard line.He picked up a yard, but paid

(02:23:39):
for it as he got hit prettygood there by Joshua White in the free
safety. Third down and five asMerley helps run the offense now with Dangliano
getting a breather on the sideline. Two receivers right singer receiver to the left

(02:24:03):
side, shotguns Stan Richardson back inthere. He gets the hand off.
This time he won't be able topull the pile. I think the ball
popped out. They say fumble andno whistle. I thought he was down
finally making the stop was Merle nowhistle though I thought he was down coach

(02:24:33):
speakman, I think wanted to clarificationon that when Mac, did you did
you ever hear a whistle or no? We fumbled, they got it and
they fumbles. Us should be firstdown us because they got the possession of
the football. Then they fumbled itand we got the ball back, so
it's gonna be first down dog.So Lewis got the ballpack did he not
correct? Okay? All right, well check it in the ball game.
We've got another quarterback that's gonna getsome snaps here. This is sophomore quarterback

(02:24:56):
Ashton Smoke, number five checks inthe ball game. Smoke and Merle were
your ninth grade quarterbacks back and fortha bit last year. So Ashton Smoke
will get his first varsity work hereagainst Percy Julian. This will be first
and ten from the twenty six yardline. But there's a stoppage in play.

(02:25:28):
I'm not sure what exactly the theissue is here. There was a
penalty against Percy Julian. Mac,did you see what that was? I'm
gonna think that's probably complaining on thesideline that we got the first down sportsmen
like conduct Okay against Percy Julian. So that's exactly what it was. So

(02:25:50):
that marks it all the way upto the forty two Now first down and
ten Ashton Smoke in a quarterback herefor the Bulldogs. Two receivers left,
single receiver here to the right side. Smoke gets the hand off and Smoke's
gonna pull it and run it andlowers his head, takes a shot and

(02:26:13):
he's gonna lose a yard. Helowered his head though, Coach McCracken,
he shot away from contact. Ilike it. You know, when you
get in their coaches first carry asa as a varsity football player, you
want a little contact, Sir,Yes, sir, absolutely, three forty
four remaining in the game. Syour mom and dad hold their breath a

(02:26:35):
little bit though. Hand off hereand near side, Well what a nice
move here on the near side byLeland Bell, sophomore. Yeah, Leland's
one of their dbs. Leland gotto the forty eight yard line, so
he's gonna make this a more manageablethird down. Third down and four,

(02:26:56):
three seventeen. As a clock continuesto run, David Miller's a big boy,
that big tied end. It's likehe's about six four. Murley checks
back in the ballgame. That quarterback, two receivers left side, handoff up
the middle, and Leland Bell carriesin like he had something going for a

(02:27:18):
minute there. But it's gonna getright back to the line of scrimmage.
So it's gonna be fourth down andfour two forty six left. Dog's gonna
keep the offense out, Murley, that's gonna be substitution or at least a
movement penalty on. I think itmay have been more for the player coming

(02:27:41):
off late than it was the movementon the defensive line. I think you're
right. Yeah, substitution penalty goesagainst Percy Julian, so that should be
enough to give the Bulldogs a firstdown. And there's a time out on
the field here with two thirty nineleft, time out on the field.
We'll take it with him. We'relistening to Bulldog football, dogs big here
late two thirty nine remaining and it'sa forty four to eight ball game.

(02:28:03):
You're listening to the Bulldog football hereon the kicker. Well, apparently there
was no flag on the play before. But the Dogs come out Merley with
a hard count. They get PercyJulian too, jump coach again. This

(02:28:24):
defensive Vanif here on this side jumpedso five yard penalty, that will be
enough for a first down. Wemay see the Dogs run a few more
plays. I think Percy Julian willbe happy to let the remainder of this
clock and wind on down and theycould take this one to the house.
Julian next week will be off beforethey head to Auburn the following week.

(02:28:46):
First down in ten high snap gotaway from Merley. It's on the turf.
Richardson finally picks it up as hetries to find some open daylight.
He retreats back, though, andhe's gonna lose some big yards all the
way back to the thirty six yardline. That one just scooted away from
Merley was a little too hot tohandle. It's gonna be a big loss.
Second or rather two twenty and theclock continues to run. That's the

(02:29:09):
promising thing. Two oh or twominutes left in the ball game. The
youngsters on ourfense trying to get setin here. Murley remains in at quarterback.

(02:29:33):
It'll be second and twenty seven afterthat loss. On the play,
Meurley gets the snap and Meurley's gonnakeep it and slides up to the forty
three yard line. Reminder coming up. After the ball game today, we'll
head into the studio with the EncoreRehabilitation High School Scoreboard Show Jason Lee,

(02:29:56):
Jerry Bavarro Eddio, and we'll allbe in the studio to run through the
scores and get you caught up onall the action and night. Boy,
it's been an action pack night, that's for sure. One nineteen left here
as a Dog's trying to wind thisone down, leading forty four to eight
trips right singer receiver, left handoff in the backfield and a nice run

(02:30:18):
across midfield there for the Bulldogs.Oh C J. Pink, a freshman
running back, the thirty two Pinkget a good game. Saw a flag
on the play, Coach, thatwas a nice one. Of these two.
It's either the Percy Julian white outor number eighty three getting in a

(02:30:41):
scuffle with each other. I thinkthey're gonna be off setting penalties. Let's
see No. One ozer two andthe flag's going against Percy Julian. It
looks like right coach, Yes,sir, so it's gonna be a fifteen
yard penalty. Look at Roman Ganglianton the sidelines. Coach, you know

(02:31:05):
a lot of quarterbacks that are seniors, they'd be on the you know,
bench, maybe taking a breather inRomans, signaling in the place. Coach,
Sir, I like that, Sir. I've been one of the first
ones in to congratulate and give highfives too. Meurley gets the handoff.
Keeper Burley stays on his feet ashe runs towards the sideline and well,

(02:31:26):
he got hit laid out out ofbounds and there's gonna be two flags.
I'll tell you what what happened. He's that's the safe two guys man second
group here. Coachs are giving iteverything. Sam Washburn, he's out there
having himself fun. Sam wide receiverhere on the near side. He's he's

(02:31:48):
not backing down. You don't reckonthat's any kin to Day and Washburn.
Do you know it might be easyway to find out. I'd guarantee you
that forty four seconds remaining and wehad a couple more flags and it's gonna
be offsetting penalties on both Gotta lovethe fight. Whilston led Better checks in

(02:32:18):
the ball game. Zion Henderson alsochecks in the ball game on that offensive
line. Eli Brocken. Also inthere is the running the center spot.
Got a new quarterback number five, trying trying to unload some guys in here.

(02:32:46):
Late. Ashton Smoke comes back inthe ball game, dropped the snap,
picked it up a little fireplay, and he snatched down at the thirty
five yard line thirty seconds leven.I think it may be the last play
here from Bulldogs Stadium tonight. Itlooks like the remainder of the clock is
gonna wind on down. That's AshtonSmoke. Yeah, Ashton Smoke got the

(02:33:11):
last snap there. Him and Merleygot the chance to get in and run
some quarterback. Good to see thatdown to thirteen, down to twelve,
and I believe that will be theend of the ballgame here at Bulldogs Stadium.

defeat the Percy Julian Phoenix. We'reback after this. Well, we're back

(02:34:18):
here at Bulldog Stadium. Dogs awinner tonight, forty four to eight over
the Percy Julian Phoenix. So polite, improving to two and one on the
season, but more importantly, Dogsam improving to two and oh in region
play. Well, we got amoment. Let's Paul's ten seconds for station
identification telling you k k R Auburnover Like. Listen with iHeart Radio number

over Percy Julian forty four to eight. Our postgame shows presented to you by
Jeff Coach Trent funeral Hall. AndI tell you what, Coach mccracky.
Next week gonna be a challenge forthis Bulldog team. You gotta enjoy two

(02:35:03):
and oh in region play. Butyou saw what Central Phoenix City did tonight.
They've demolished everybody on their schedule. You know this is gonna be the
toughest I wouldn't say the toughest challengebecause we've played Thompson, But you know
when you say Thompson and Central twoof the best teams in the state right
now, yeah, well, youknow what, we gotta play them all
Van, So let's let's get readyfor this bunch. Hey, the only

(02:35:26):
way that we're gonna get better isto play these teams. This is the
best team. Wouldn't you say thatthis is the best team on our schedule
that we're fixing to play. Thisis the best region team, best press
region team. Definitely. I'm notsure you know how Central stacks up with
Thompson, but when you're looking atat these teams, you know Central's gonna

(02:35:50):
be good and you know, afterlast year here at Bulldog Stadium, they
remember, you know, that's beentalked to the team in the region that
knocked you guys off last year, that ran on the field, that celebrate
they're the greatest accomplishment. You know, they're gonna they're gonna spend it anyway
they can. And they've had thisone circled for a while. So don't
think coach Nicks and company hasn't beentalking about this one with their team.

(02:36:11):
And they got the big win,you know, uh at tonight and they
got a that's a big win overEnterprise on the road. Aburn and Alburn
and Enterprise, but both with bigwins. You look at Auburn last week,
they stumble against Enterprise. They godown to Dothan, a team that's
on the uptick without a quarterback, and go down and get a win and

(02:36:31):
double overtime. It says a lotabout that team and Enterprise tonight. You
know, I don't think you canread too much in that when they had
a big win last week against Alburnon the road, and you know they
had a tough team coming there inCentral tonight they turn around and look around,
coach, it's tough every week inthis region. I think if we
can hold our deal at home anduh and and and play good on east

(02:36:56):
road games against Enterprise and Theodore andand Central and just get better as we
go along each week. We stillgotta run the ball a little bit better.
But I thought we did pretty goodoffensively tonight, and defensively, heck,
we didn't. They didn't have anybig, big running game against us

(02:37:18):
or much of anything against us.They're they're a decent team. What stood
out for you tonight about Opaca that, Well, first, let's take a
positive, positive thing that's sit outfor you, then something you really think
this team still gotta work on bigWell, I think the positive thing is
is the lack of turnovers. Wedidn't turn the ball or tonight, we
didn't have any fumbles. We didn'thave a pick and uh and and that's

(02:37:43):
huge in in these kind of games. What do we have to work on?
Van? I still think we haveto work on our kicking game.
Our kicking game needs to be betterwith our punt returns and uh and and
well, they didn't they didn't returnany kickoffs against I don't think they had

(02:38:05):
a very good kicking. Four interceptionstoo, by the defense. Yeah,
well, yeah, turnovers. Ithink turnovers are the big thing, and
we made a lot of big playstonight. They didn't have any big play.
Max. You got to comment downon the field at the fifty yard
line. Yeah, we had.We had that one pick rowing through that
pick in the end zone and thatguy returned it to about the fifty.
Yeah we had. All Right, you've got mister Eric Speakman down there,

(02:38:30):
head coached up like a Bulldogs back. We'll turn it over to you.
Thanks guys. Coach two and ohin the region, Hey, uh,
talk defensively how this team played tonight. Coach four picks, two of them
back for touchdowns. I can't rememberthe last time we did that. Yeah,
it's been a long time since we'veeven had the four picks. But
you know, getting the points ondefense is always huge. I mean,

(02:38:50):
you know, that's a big timemomentum killer. And and then you send
them right back out and they werestill making big time stop. So I
thought those guys, especially early, played really really good. And uh,
you know, we've got to keepliving off of our defense right now,
and then you know, taking ourshots when we came on offense, and
I thought we were a little bitslower getting going this h tonight on offense,
so we had to live with ourdefense to until we could get that

(02:39:11):
going. Well. Coachman Roman,I can't remember last time I saw this
on the run. Throw it aboutforty nine yards in the air to Brody
Jones. Tremendous athlet us, saysthem the great catch, and I think
that kind of just got everything goingfor the rest of the way for the
wind. Yeah. Well, thelast time you actually saw it was last
week in Crampton Bow he threw iton the run fifty seven yards. It

(02:39:33):
was just incomplete. He's got anincredibly strong arm and and people don't give
him a lot of credit for beingas mobile as he is because we don't.
Just we know we try not torun him a ton but I think
you saw when he when he brokeaway on that first touchdown tonight just how
athletic he is. Well, Coach, we talked about this that the dog
Nation live during the game, andif you want any billboard material, if

(02:39:54):
the guys are ever down, youneed to show the clip of Amante richardson
one d forty pounds carried eleven generalsinto the dead Gum end zone. It
did not stop for nothing. Ohyeah, that was incredible. We've been
trying to get him in and youknow, give him a few touches to
see what he can do. Andyou know, he finally got in there
and got a big time touchdown forus. And you're right, you know

(02:40:16):
we had he was he was pushinghimself as driving himself along with about ten
other guys and in fact, SamWashburn came from the receiver spot across the
field and even help. So thatwas that was a lot of fun to
watch. Great, let me sendyou pup something, all right, coach
Beatman, get guys all right, coach, Hey, real quick talk a
little bit about I knew the progressionof the offensive line. I note it

(02:40:37):
was a struggle early. They hungon in there and gave Rumans some time.
But I know that's kind of awork in progress. Just talk about
the guys, the moving up frontand kind of where where you're working with
those guys. Yeah, I thoughtwe uh, you know, we had
one guy that had been uh he'sbeen Tomorray Ross has been sick for about
a week and a half, sowe couldn't We didn't even play him till
the second half. And uh,you know, so really we haven't even

(02:40:58):
had the same starting lineup up frontfor these last three games, so hopefully
we can get some consistency there withthese guys. And uh, yeah,
I thought in the second half westarted getting a little push on them in
a run game, you know, open up a little bit there in the
second half. One my other question, Coach, I see the coach speakman
fathead from the jungle here. Peopleare getting their photos with it. I
like it that. Have you hada chance to autograph that's our boy,

(02:41:22):
Colt Miller, Doctor Colley's grandson thathas done that. So Colt's an awesome
kid baseball player, and he's havinga lot of fun with that thing right
now. So, Hey, talkabout coach the home crowd tonight. I
didn't really you know, it's beena long time since we've had a home
football game here at Bulldogs Stadium, only four of them. I know,
we've been talking to the fan basein the crowd, you know, leading

(02:41:43):
into this game. Hey, gethere to the get here to Bulldogs Stadium.
They stayed, I think from startto the finish, even when this
game was kind of at hand.Yeah, I thought the crowd you know,
as the game went on. Youknow, we seemed to always have
a kind of a late arriving crowd. I guess it's because they all are
guaranteed a seat during the season. But you know, these guys, they
came in and it got loud tonight, you know, in a game that
kind of even got to be allblowout, and the student section was down

(02:42:03):
and I don't think there was anempty seat over there. So that's a
lot of fun when these kids, you know, because these players put in
so much work, you know, from last January until now, that it's
fun to see, you know, the community to come out and support like
like they've always done. You know, this is always a great place to
play in front of home crowd.Well, coach, I'll throw along.
I know you don't keep track ofsome of the games going on. Auburn

(02:42:24):
wins and double overtime tonight and Dothanand then uh boy, there's been some
thrillers tonight around the area and thenEnterprise that they take one on the chin
to Central tonight. This is atough region top to bottom. You just
can't sleep on anybody week to week, and you know you've got to challenge
next week was Central. Oh yeah, you know, I talked to the
kids just now and said, youknow, the really the region season for
us starts now. You know,we we played two of the teams that

(02:42:46):
we're supposed to beat, you know, on our schedule, and and now
we're about to play two in arow. That are all. It's gonna
be a dog fight between us andthem, you know, us going to
Central and then getting Private flet home. You know, of course we've beat
Central last year and overtime, andthen we go to Prappol and get beaten
over time. So you've got,you know, two different stories of a
game last year that ended up costingus there there at the end. All

(02:43:09):
yeah, I got a couple ofthings there. You know, you know,
I watch I watch Roman run atRPO stuff and the option stuff,
and I know you not will findon him running the ball, but if
you go back and look at thetape tonight, you're gonna see that there's
a lot of times if he hadjust pulled the ball and he would stand
in the wide open Yeah. Yeah, because people, that's the thing is

(02:43:33):
even defenses don't think he's gonna run, which is really probably why that long
touchdown he had opened up so much. And yeah, yeah, there's times
that will run him a little bit. But you know there's also games that
you know, we've got to makesure he's playing every week. So yeah,
I know, so we gotta protectand he's got to be smart too.
If no one wanted to throw theball away, no one wanted to
run and get down and not takeyou know, the just these hits that

(02:43:54):
that end up building up on you. And that's the other thing I gotta
tell you. I didn't even knowthis till tonight. But the little speakman
runs out there with the ball andthe ball is bigger than him. Yeah,
but I got both of them downhere. And BAM's boy too,
Houston's out here, the little oneman, the little speakman man. I

(02:44:15):
love that. I don't crack oneups QB one for the Falcons too.
Yeah, we gotta protect him too. I gotta protect him, be careful
with him. Oh golly, thatwas hilarious. But congratulations, and uh,
hey, gotta go over the central. So let's go over there and
see if we can pull it off. Oh yeah, we'll enjoy this one,
you know. Like you said, the other day, nothing beats winning,
but winning again a man. Sowe're gonna go back to work on

(02:44:37):
Sunday and uh and and see whatwe can do with the Red Devils next
week. I know they're good,so it ought to be a fun gameratulations.
Guys, go down, see ithuddle house later. Okay, all
right, let's coach Eric speakman thereon the field. A final score again
here from Bulldogs Stadium. Is Dog'sa big winner tonight, forty four to
eight. We'll take our final break. We'll come back and wrap it up
here from Bulldog Stadium right after this, So you k k R Auburn over

a winner forty four to eight overPercy Julian two and one on the season
two and O N Area play.It doesn't get any easier. Next week,
Dogs had to face the mighty RedDevils of Central Phoenix City and Dogs,
of course, knocking off the RedDevils here at home name in that
six game losing streak to the RedDevils. So you know they're gonna be

(02:45:46):
ready to welcome in the Bulldogs, coach. I'm sure they'll roll the red
carpet out and be ready for theDogs to come to town, don't you
think, Yes, sir, Andwe'll be ready. I think we'll play.
We'll play a good hard game andhopefully, well, you know,
these guys, they know they knowwhat they're gonna be up against. They're
gonna bring their a game. Youknow they're gonna play their hardest and just
like they wouldn't any big rival gamewhen it comes to the region. And

(02:46:09):
you gotta treat about every one ofthese region games like a rivalry game because
you gotta be ready. You neverknow. You see Dothan taking Auburn to
the wire to night and double overtimeenterprise last week, defeating Auburn Pratt bull
big winners over Smith's Station tonight. It just week to week. It's the
gauntlet, kind of like the secof high school football here in seven A,
Region two. Well, that'll doit from us again. The final
