(01:51):
you back to Bulldogs Stadium. TheOpelaca Bulldogs enter tonight's game against the Pratt
bull Lions with two losses on theseason, both those losses coming to the
number one in number two teams inthe state in Class seven eight. Last
week, the Dogs had the CentralRed Devils on the ropes all game.
Rallied back from an eleven point fourthquarter devasit to make it a three point
game with just over two minutes andforty seconds left, but it was a
(02:14):
late kickoff returned by the Red Devils. It ended up sealing the win for
the Devils, but still no statewidemedia and nobody given these Bulldogs any attention
despite the two losses coming to thosetop two teams and last week's very competitive
showing against the number two team inthe state. Dogs like it that way
though no attention given at all,and opelikas sneak being very sneaky here in
(02:35):
Class seven eight, Region two,a big region opponent to night in the
pratt Will Lions. Last year, this Prattvil Lion team really dethrone the season
of the Bulldogs on a big firsthalf kickoff return, late first half kickoff
return as the Dogs had a fourteennothing devasit that really just sparked the momentum
for the Lions and they went onthe way to win that game in overtime
against Opelika and the season really didnot get going after that. We welcome
(02:58):
you into the fourth the Peeded cliniccastbooth tonight. It is a very special
senior night tonight here at Bulldog Stadium. The senior football players, cheerleaders,
band and everybody will be honored herea pregame as those festivities are underway now
here in Opelika. Coach Spitz mccrackand also taking part in that festivities tonight
as his granddaughter Kendall down on thefield getting honored as one of the senior
(03:20):
cheerleaders here tonight. Well take aquick time out. When we come back.
Your pregame show is underway. Itis presented to you by Frederick Dean
Funeral Home, and we'll be backas we continue with our pregame show right
after this time out. You're listeningto Bulldog Football here on the Kicker,
our coverage of Open Lake A HighSchool football on ninety seven point seven.
Kicker fim continues with a pregame visitwith head coach Eric Speakman, presented by
(03:40):
South State Bank. Now with coachEric Speakman, years Fan Riggs back at
Bulldog Stadium, Friendly confines just thesecond home game of the season. Dollars
come in tonight, two and twoon the season. Coach. Last week,
great hard, falled effort from yourguys against the Red Devils of Central
Phoenix City. Knew you'd have yourhands full. You wanted to be in
that game with a chance to winit at the fourth quarter, and you
were right there. We were,Uh, you know, I thought the
(04:03):
kids played really good minus about fourplays that they ended up winning. You
know, we always talk about youknow, three, four or five plays
that determine the outcome of the game. And I probably that kickoff return at
the end. Uh, you know, kids were hustling down for the most
part. Ball took a bad bouncefor us, a good bounce for them,
and their player picked it up andreturned it to you know, make
(04:25):
it a ten point game. Butyou know, if we go down to
recover that thing or even just holdthem there because their run game was was
basically non existent against our defensive linelast week, which is you know,
usually a case here this during thisseason. But we can get the ball
back there and uh, you know, probably about two minutes to go,
we still had all three time outsand maybe we can either kick a field
goal to tie it or possibly scorea touchdown to win the game. So,
(04:47):
you know, tough bounce for us. But I thought the kids played
really good and probably of our bestgame of the year, even though we
didn't win the game. Yeah, defensively, you had your hands full trying
to hold big number eight Cam Colemanand check their quarterback. He was really
frustrated, I think for the mostpart all night long, he was you
know, had to move out ofthe pocket get on the run. And
you credit the defensive line, Iknow for the pressure that was added back
(05:10):
there, really stopping the run game, and they really affected that passing game
they did last week. You know, that was the plan going in,
was to give him some different looksin the secondary and and try to get
some pressure on him. And uh, because he's not a guy that was
really looking to run. He's alwayslooking to throw. So other than the
three, you know, pass playswhere you know, we at least didn't
blow some coverages, we just didn'tplay our technique properly. So if we
(05:34):
can take those things away, thenyou know, we probably hold those guys
about seven points maybe fourteen instead ofthe twenty eight they had, you know,
but of course seven of that cameoff the the kick return, so
they were averaging forty nine points ofgame scored twenty one on our defense.
So other than the couple of plays, I thought our guys played really good.
(05:54):
Yeah, in your offense, soI thought moved the ball pretty much
up and down the field most ofthe game. I know, sometimes didn't
come on with the points to showfor it, but the run game was
there, and a good night fromRoman Gagliano. In the passing game,
yeah, Roman threw the ball well. Last week. They gave us a
lot of our screens that you know, we always looked to throw. I
think he threw for two hundred andsixty four yards, had the couple of
deep balls to Jordan Tilbot that we'rebig in the game and run game.
(06:17):
Actually we had one drive there thatwas seventeen plays, so it was able
to keep their offense off the field, and you know, we were really
just kind of pounding the ball insideand jav would bounce it occasionally and get
five six yards here or there. So you know, as the game kind
of flowed along, we just feltlike if we could just keep it,
keep the ball away from their offenseand keep the game close and keep it
(06:40):
low scoring, we'd have a chance. Visiting head coach Eric Speople, we'll
take quick time out. We'll talkto the Prattville Lions where Bulldog Stadium tonight
another big region game. You're listeningto Bulldog football here on the kicker.
Welcome back Bulldog football here on ninetyseven point seven kick refim getting ready for
the Prattville Lions tonight Senior Night hereat Bulldog Stadium. Coaching. No penalties
(07:01):
were a we're a problem last week. Some of those on the offensive line
on holds. I know some ofthose are tough to clean up, especially
when the runs designed to go oneway and the guys you mentioned bouncing at
outside going the other way. Yeah, I know there were there were more
effort penalties than there were anything.Right. It is a lot of effort,
but it's also part uh. Youknow, we're not running our feet,
maintaining our blocks and keeping our bodyup against the other guys. So
(07:25):
once those defensive guys pull away fromyou and you're you know, you're holding
their jersey, it's pretty easy tosee by these officials. We got to
get that fixed and cleaned up aswe continue. You know, we're averaging
like five or six a game, and you know they obviously aren't meaning to
do it, but we're still doingit. So I don't know that we're
good enough on the offense to geta first and twenty against some of these
(07:46):
defenses. So we've really focused onthat this week. Fundamentally, just keeping
our feet moving and staying engaged witha guy and if he starts to pull
away and the balls going the otherways, let him go, don't don't
worry about blocking him and cost usten yards on the So done a good
job in practice this week of tryingto get that corrected. All right,
when you look at Prattville and Olast year, this team was struggling and
(08:07):
then went on the road to Prattville, had a two touchdown lead, they
got a big kickoff return which reallyswung the momentum in their favor and really
the season really kind of didn't getback going on the tracks after that.
I know that may be some outof motivation at night to kind of take
it to these guys. They've gota really good running attack. Their quarterback
has struggled a little bit at timesthrowing down the field, but boy,
(08:28):
their their tailbacks big, and Iknow they're going to try to rely on
him to night. Yeah, that'sthird game on offense is a good running
game. It's the same running backwe saw last year. And uh,
you're right. Last year when wewent over there, we were sitting at
four and zero and let them hangaround and didn't you know, put the
nail in the coffin, so tospeak, and allowed a kickoff return when
we were up fourteen nothing to makeit fourteen seven. And then you know
(08:50):
they're right back in it. Fansare back in it and everybody's excited,
and so we've you know, we'vegot to continue to play good. We're
kind of in a different situation thisyear where we're two and one in the
region, not three and oh goinginto this game, and you know,
with Senior Night here and all thefestivities for that, you know, we
need to play well and and focuson the fact that we are playing a
region game, and we got tostay ahead of everybody else because there's a
(09:11):
lot of teams sitting there with oneloss right now, and you can't afford
to get behind those guys. Inthe regular season, you're two losses to
the number one number two teams inthe state. You've had a really tough
schedule, that's no doubt about that. Talk about how your team is physically
and injury wise moving into the night'sgame. Yeah, we're good. You
know, we had two linemen sprayingtheir ankles last week, but they played
(09:31):
through it through the whole game.I'd be worried if they had not finished
the game against Central, but they'llbe back. They practiced on Tuesday and
they'll be good. We in orderto play, you got to practice on
Tuesday, and so they were bothhere and did a good job and what
they could do. You know, you're still limited a little bit, but
they at least went through all theirdrills and we're good to go on that
(09:52):
end. And you know, it'sbeen a tough schedule so far, and
you know, the kids have enjoyedplaying these teams, and you know,
we got after it pretty good againstThompson and the same thing week against Central,
so they know, you know, kind of where we are in the
season and know that they're a goodfootball team. We are a good football
team and just got to fix afew problems that have cost us, you
know, at least the Central game, maybe not so much the Thompson game,
(10:13):
but for certain last week. Allright, Senior night tonight. You
it's a smaller senior group than you'renormally used to have it here at Opelika.
You've got some key pieces that areseniors. A lot of these seniors
old contribute maybe during the week leadinginto the game, they may not get
the play in time. That's justdue to the fact that got such a
good junior class behind them. Theyare. It's a good group of kids.
Enjoy being around them, and uh, they do a good job.
(10:37):
You know, we got a couplestarting on the offensive line, and a
couple of seniors in the secondary andof course Roman Uh. You know,
we're finding a few of them thatare kind of picking it back up to
where we can use them. Somedare in the games, whether it's on
special teams or you know, justa certain play. Like you know,
last week we put Tony Ingram inand had a huge catch for us that
you know, we'll start using hima little bit more now that he's you
(10:58):
know, kind of showing us hecan help us and play. So it's
a good group of kids, andyou know we're happy to celebrate them tonight.
Coach, good luck tonight against thePrattville lines. Appreciate the visit as
always. All right, thank yougo dogs. Hey, Coach Eric Speton
will be back and get you readyfor kickoff of the night's game between Opelike
and Prattville Senior Night here at BulldogStadium. You're listening to ninety seven point
seven KICKERFM. You were listening toOpe Lake a high school football here on
(11:22):
ninety seven point seven kick REFM.And now it's time for Coach Spence McCracken's
Keys of the Game, presented byGlenn Smith's Chevrolet GMC and obelike getting ready
to smile. We welcome you backhere the Bulldogs Stadium. It is that
time of the night. It istime for those keys to the game.
We bring in coach Spence McCracken.Coach, welcome to the broadcast. But
(11:43):
back from the middle of the fieldthere as you were taking part in your
granddaughter's festivities. We'll let you slideon that. Bless her heart, man,
I cannot believe she's a senior inhigh school. And I got another
one down in Mobile now and takecare of later in the season. But
we love kindled to death and veryvery proud of her. H Van.
You know, I've been watching alot of football. I watch Auburn and
(12:05):
Alabama and all SEC schools, andthese keys tonight is exactly what happened in
the Phoenix City game last week.We had a good chance to win that
game. But here's what we haveto do. If you want, if
you guys listening at home want towrite these down, feel free to do
it. We gotta make more bigplays than Prattell did. We had three
(12:28):
big plays against Central and they hadseven against us. That was the difference
in the game. One of thedifferences and stupid. You know, we
had a hundred and forty five yardsand penalties last week, one hundred and
forty five yards in Phoenix City,I think had sixty five something like that.
(12:48):
You're not gonna win any football gamehaving penalties like that. Most of
them were procedure penalties or we hada ton of holding penalties last week.
Can't have the can't have anything, and that is on offense, defense,
and kicking. We cannot turn theball over and give it to prap Will.
(13:09):
We can't do that. And wemust write this down you guys.
We have to make third down conversions. We've got to be able to convert
first down. I think those arethe main things, man, that we
need to do tonight. It's gonnabe a tough game, but I think
we're gonna come out ahead at theend. All right, there's coach Spence
mccracking. There's your keys to thegame. We come back. We'll continue
(13:33):
with our pregame show. It ispresented to you by our friends at Frederick
Dean Funeral Home. We're back afterthis time out here on the Kicker,
Hi nash Lantham here at Bulldog Stadium. We welcome you back to the North
(14:20):
Pete Clintic Broadcast booth. I beingraised, join the laws signe Coach Spence
mccrack in time now for our gameconditions and that has brought me by our
friends at First Baptist Church in Openlike a proud to support open lack of
schools. If you can't make itto church, make sure listen to the
entire worship service every Sunday at elevenam. Right here on the kicker,
we're looking at seventy seven degrees rightnow, just about nine minutes away from
(14:41):
kickoff. Very sunny conditions here.Should be a nice night for football here
and those are our game conditions tonight, Senior night. Coach always special.
This is not the biggest group ofseniors at Coach Speakman has had as a
head coach here at Open like ahigh school. But this is a group
that even though they're seniors, someof the seniors they don't get to play
(15:01):
in time. Some of these juniorstoo. That's due to the fact this
is a very big junior class, very talented junior class coming up. But
they do contribute in many ways, especially during the week to Speakman even mentioned
it in the pregame show. Someof these seniors have started to put some
of these juniors and we found themselveson the field in some meaningful play in
time as well. Yeah, youknow, you can't have enough guys on
(15:22):
your team, especially to take aplace of seniors that are starting, and
then you've got a junior that youcan plug in there, or sophomore that
you could plug in there. Wealways tried to play mostly seniors and a
few juniors and once in a whilea tenth grader. There was an old
saying van that I learned a longtime ago. Chalk up a loss for
(15:46):
every tenth grader that you start, and you know that's a pretty good deal.
However, however, you must havedept in college football, high school
football, it takes everybody working together, and especially special teams. And I
(16:07):
already mentioned special teams tonight is akey to the game. And I bet
we have tons of juniors and sophomoreson our special teams, and hey,
we gotta play better with our specialteams, all right. Bulldog fans,
don't forget rentals outdoors locally owned hunting, fishing, archery and outdoor store to
take care of all your outdoor sportingneeds. That's Rentals Outdoors off Geneva Street
(16:30):
in Opelika. We're in the pregamestages tonight. One of the challenges for
this defensive team tonight is going tobe stuffing Donovan Errington. He's they're a
good running back at Prattvill six one, two hundred and twenty pounds. They're
starting quarterback Gavin Rigdon. He's ajunior five ten, one hundred and sixty
five pounds, But they're gonna liveand die by Errington on the ground with
that big six one, two hundredand twenty pound frame. We come back.
(16:51):
Coin tallis here from Bulldog Stadium. After this everybody starting line I was
being announced here at Bulldogs Stadium.Vote But like Captain's for to night,
gonna be number four Jordan Tolbert, number fourteen, Will Carol also number ninety
seven at Cody Johnson, and numbertwenty eight for the open like of Bulldogs,
(17:14):
that is Colventate Wide, great defensiveplayer for the Bulldogs. Looking across
the way for the Prattville Lions tonight, they're gonna have a big number ninety
in there. That is Cameron Underwood, a big defensive lineman. Also one
of the captains for tonight for theLions will be number two. Looks like
(17:36):
Joshua Brouter. They got a lotof double numbers over there for Prattvil,
so good chance we may be catchingone of the wrong ones here. And
then a number six it looks likea Jack Studdard wide receiver for the Prattville
Lions. And then also a captainnumber eight, Cameron Shanks, and they'll
(17:56):
bulla of bulldogs. Just about theyget ready to take the field as you
hear a public address announcer Eddie Ohand make of the announcement, and here
come the Bulldogs. They're rest upin all black tonight, black pants,
black tops, white numbers outlined inred, and of course the traditional red
helmets, led out by senior quarterbackRoman Gagliano, who was represented pre game
during the senior festivities. You knowhe's looking for a big comeback night tonight,
(18:19):
coach. I know this football teamthey did not forget. It was
mentioned last night at the community pepprally how Prattville shot this Opelika team after
a four and I start last yearand a big win against Central Phoenix City
went over there in kickoff returned witha fourteen nothing to lead. Things never
really got going after that, VanRiggs, you couldn't have said that better.
I was just thinking about that kickoffreturn that they had against us,
(18:44):
and that turned that whole game around. And and you know what, we
did not win that second half, and from that point on, I don't
think we won a second half ofany more of our games. And that's
Hey, I'm gonna go right backspecial teams. You're gonna keep your eye
on those special teams tonight. Kickoffs, kickoff returns, punt punt returns,
(19:07):
extra points, field goals, anythinghaving to do with special teams. We
better win that one. And thenwe need to win either the offense or
the defense. And I tell youwhat, it's gonna be a great match
up our defense against that running back. And but I tell you what,
I'll put our run defense up againstanybody. Phoenix City only had, I
(19:29):
want to say, around seventy yardsrushing last week. And uh, the
kickoff return in that game at nearthe end of the game just killed us,
took us out of the game.So seeing that you brought that up,
I'll say it again. Number two, I'm gonna check it out.
I believe we've got some new newfat heads over the students section. We're
(19:51):
gonna have to check out number eight, Oh yes, and number nine eight
camera Underwood student section. All right, let's go down for the coin toss
tonight. Center of the field.Mac mccracking with our four seasons Federal credit
get it Sideline reported as our cointoss brought me by Rentals Outdoors. Make
(20:14):
make sure they let you get inthere tonight. All right, gentlemen,
my name's Andrew Stanley and will beyour referee and this is West School or
he's gonna be your umpire y'all. The captains on the field tonight, y'all
are in charge of your teammates.Okay, we'll have a good clean game.
Can everybody agree with me on that? All right? Good Pratt?
When you were the visiting team, you got heads and tails? What's the
call? Heads? Heads? Isthe call? It is? Heads?
(20:37):
What do you want to do thefirth? You're going to further the second
half like you were going to get? All? Okay? Which way do
you want to keep it? Thatway? All right? All right,
so there you go. That isthe coin toss brought you by our friends
at Rentals Outdoors. When we comeback, we'll have your kick off a
tonight's game between Opelika and the Prattand Alliance. Right after this time out,
(21:00):
listen to Bulldog football here on thekicker. So do you k k
r Auburn opa Like? Listen withiHeart Radio number one for music radio and
podcasting bull in one Apppen online,Lee County's Best Country ninety seven point seven
(21:22):
Back here Bulldogs Stadium. It wasPrattvil winning the tallest deferring to the second
half, so you're up a lickof Bulldogs. We'll get the football first,
and number forty six read Montgomery hasn'tteed up for the pratt bull Lions.
You'll kick from right to left, gravel in all lights, white pants,
white tops, and maroon numbers andmarooned helmet with a silver Prattville Lion
logo on each side of the helmet, and the Bulldogs dripped back into the
(21:42):
end zone. It will be abear catch called for by Jamari Miller and
we will see the opal Like offensecome back out after a good show in
last week against those Central Phoenix CityRed Devils and a tough losing effort twenty
eight eighteen. Dogs fallow to CentralPhoenix City last night. Two and two
on the season, two and onein the region play the Lions of Prattle
one and two overall, one andone in the region. They fell last
(22:04):
week to Dothan. They did havean off week in Week two, so
this is just the fourth game ofthe season for the Prattonvilliance Here tonight at
Bulldog Stadium. We'll get the startinglineups in just a minute. Dogs will
open up from their own twenty yardline. Roman Gagliano looks to be changing
his play at the line of scrimmage. Two wide receivers to the left side,
(22:25):
single receiver here to the near side. Gagliano gets the snap through a
quick throw far side. It iscold oh man miss across the forty yard
line and across midfield foot race acrossthe thirty five. Made a man miss
again at the twenty and finally forcedout of bounds inside the twenty yard line.
That was Jamari Miller, the bleepingup a bridge. They're gonna mark
(22:45):
him down. It looks like atthe sixteen yard line. Coach mccrackin quite
a big play there, sixty fouryard pick up and that's a big open
like a first down. That's abig play. Quick handoff right side here
comes hugely hug inside the twenty, but he's just tripped up in the backfield.
He's gonna lose maybe a yard ortwo and a good stop there by
(23:07):
number seven Zay Parish of the Lionsand the spot things back to around the
eighteen yard line. So what abig play out of the gate tomorrow Ross
Kyle Efferson Parker killed first, BrandonFears and Tremont Thomas up front for the
Dolls. Javin Williams in there inthe backfield to be a running back on
this second down and twelve play. They'll say he lost two yards on that
(23:30):
last run. Heavy set to theleft side of the line, and Williams
will trying to bounce it left side. He got a nice cut inside the
fifteen and he's gonna be brought downat the eleven yard line. So that
will be a pickup at close toseven yards and set up a much more
manageable third down here for the Bulldollars. I hope Pelaika tries to hurry up
(23:51):
as the Lions trying to get playersoff and they could not get them off
in time. There's still two lionstrying to get off the field. That's
a penalty on them. That's gonnabe five. That's gonna be a first
down, should be it was athird and four. I love coach speakman
going fast right here and they checkthe sidelines and it will be declined.
So good start here out of thegate. Mac McCracken, good start there.
(24:14):
What you think you got me?Gotcha? Hey? Yes, I
want to open it up right there. You can't goach speed, that's right.
Jamari Miller with a big gainer toset this up. Dogs inside the
five yard line down to the Prattonbillfour. This will be a first and
goal situation now or for the Bulldogsfirst five minutes of the game. What
(24:37):
a way to start. Fan JavanWilliams is the tailback to the right of
Gagliano here on first and goal fromthe four, Williams gets the handoff,
slips inside, he gets in theend zone for the ballot touchdown Javan Williams
from four yards out. It wasset up on the big pass to Miller
down the sidelines for the big gainerand the Dogs pay it all. First
(24:57):
and goal from the four. Tenin the twenty five left here in an
opening corner, and what a statementthat was right out of the gate,
Coach McCracken. I'll tell you whatgreat running, great blocking up front,
I mean great blocking Ross Efferson,Kilchrists Fears and Thomas and uh Tilbert on
the outside with David Miller. Greatrunning by our running backs, and are
(25:19):
super throwing. Catch will Carroll's pointafter tim up and good. That was
Javon William's first rushing touchdown up theseason. Two dogs early seven up in
LA. That score and drying poweredby our friends that open like a power
services and we're back after this timeout. You listen to Bulldog football here
on the caverybody. I'm Brian Wattsand I'm John Harden, and we're your

grow and conserve big over then drivingfor the Bulldogs, they marching down
a big Jamari Miller pass reception setup the Bulldogs in business and it was
(26:22):
Javan Williams capping it off from thefour yard line on a first and goal
situation. Here's Johnny Cissina on thekickoff after the score and it will be
fielded inside the five yard line.It will be returnable here for the Lions.
They'll try to work the far sideof the field and turn it upfield
at the fifth eight yard Good job, good pursuit via the Bulldogs. They'll
mark him at the looks like sixteen. Maybe the seventeen yard line is where
(26:47):
the Lions will start. I swearto cover a kick right there. Defensive
front Alan Jackson, Jaki Lightfoot,Malik Autry, and Mary Smiley upfront,
Caden Harrison Kilchris at the Linebackers,Court Ingram and Devin Dexon at the Dixon
at the corners, Covante White andCarson Moss at the safeties and Pits at
(27:08):
the other safety. Lions will startit off, they say, from the
eighteen yard line and will play action, trying to go to the air complete
at the twenty yard line, andPrattville throws it out here to the near
side to miahn Kallen and that playpicks up up to the twenty one yard
(27:30):
line and just three yards on thatthrowing a kid. That's a good job
right there. Good job second downat seven Cavante White on that stop for
the Bulldogs. Nine at forty eightwere just underway here first quarter action Dogs
lead at seven nothing over the Lionsof Prattville. Here's a hand off to
Arrington right side, and a nicejob there by that Bulldog defensive line coming
(27:51):
in there and making the stop.Could not get past that first line of
defense. That was Malik Auntrey inthere on the stop for the Bulldogs.
That's first down. I believe theyard gay Donovan and Rington. Yeah,
he got up to the twenty eightyard line. So that was a pick
up of six yards on first down, all right, and I check that
(28:14):
seven yards to stop that ruin. Now they're gonna try to lean on Donovan
Arrington tonight first down and ten.The defensive lines shifts and they'll hand it
to Arrington again, bounces in outside. He gets across the thirty up close
to the thirty two yard line beforehe's brought down there by the Bulldogs as
j Marve and Jenkins on the stop. Yeah, that's too much, that's
(28:34):
too many. That's almost that's fouryards. We can't let him run the
ball like that up to the thirtytwo yard line for a four yard pick
of This will be a second downand six. Harrington a big runner,
senior running back, six one twoand twenty pounder eight forty left here in
the first quarter. First quarter, brought to you by L and m upawn
(28:56):
and gun quarterback rigged in out ofthe shotgun formation. Awaits a stamp.
Now he'll move Rrington to his left. It's a stamp. Trump's back pressure
comes, dumps it across the middle, nearly intercepted in the hands of Jamarwi
and Jenkins across the middle and Jenkinsjust let it get through his hands and
(29:17):
boy's hitting himself on the helmet onthat. Oh, we head down one.
That was right too, Jenkins.Third down. Here's your third down
conversion right here. Now, wedidn't have one when we had the ball.
We didn't even make it to thirddown, which is great. So
here's the third down conversion. Clockstop till that incomplete pass eight twenty one
left in our first quarter trips tothe left side of the field. Here
(29:38):
for the Lions singer receiver to theright side is Brody Bowman out there all
by himself with the Lions. Ithink you'll see a chunk here. That
quarterback's not very big, is itnot? Really? He's a five ten,
one sixty five. He gets thesnamp, looks to the left,
pressure comes, throws nobody there. He overshot, callin over here on the
near side. But that was alot of us you're coming there from the
(30:00):
Bulldogs there man, you know, yeah, we put our hands up on
the ends over here. Smiley andJack Jenkins, Yeah, yeah, and
yeah. And a five ten quarterback, he had to throw that ball high,
overshot his receivers, so lots ofpressure. They're punning time for the
Lions and Jamari Miller, who hada big gainer on that first play from
scrimmage back and around the thirty sevenyard line to await this punt here from
(30:22):
Paxton Ganola, and it's a highhanging punt. It will bounce at the
forty and head out of bounds insidethe forty. We'll see where they market
around the thirty seven or thirty eight. It looks like we's all right at
the forty, so let's see ifwe can just keep the same momentum.
And I think Eric's going to gofast again. Yeah, it worked very
well last time out. Yes,Bulldog fans. Southeastern Land Group the name
(30:45):
to remember if you're considering purchasing orselling rural land in the Southeast, contact
your local Southeastern Land grant Brokers. That's Brian Wats or John Harden when it's
time to buy or sell land.Good to see. Also, Mayor Gary
Fuller, um of the sidelines backtonight with us his first home game.
So I had a chance to catchup with Mayor Fuller before the game,
and it's good to see him backhere in the Yes, sir, in
the press box, getting around verygood. We got a great mayor,
(31:07):
Great Mayor. First down and tenfor the Bulldogs. They'll work it from
their own forty yard line with aseven uh and lead eight ten remaining here
in the first quarter, quick handoffin the backfield and up to the line
of scrimmage. Maybe picked up oneyard. Yeah, that's that's hugely I
think no, that was actually JordanWaits, number twenty four. I was
waiting to check, just to doublecheck who got the carry on that way,
(31:30):
It was Jordan Waits. We justdidn't we didn't knock anybody off the
fall there. Waits without a carrylast week against Central. The back in
there here on the second possession herefor the Bulldogs, and we don't say
we don't need to get second downlongs like this. So second down and
nine for the Bulldogs from the fortyone yard line. Play action. Roman
(31:55):
has all Day floats one across themiddle, double coverage looking for Jones,
tipped in Jones his hands and incomplete. Two Lions were covering up Brody Jones
on that one and it was ableto be slatted away. Joris Thomas back
there for the Lions, number fourto help break that one up. Third
down and nine coming up. Theywere both fighting for that when that was
that was close. He had goodprotection. Well, they were not fooled
(32:17):
on the play fight. They werenot, and we got a third down
conversion right here. Now, thiswill be our first one of the night.
Seven twenty five left here in thethird first quarter and need nine yards
for the first Lions trailing Opelikas sevennothing, Dog scoring on their first drive.
Trying to keep this one going, they'll have to convert a third and
(32:38):
nine here, two wide outs eitherside. Gagliano gets the stamp, looks
to his left, pressure comes on. He's gotta dumping off early. It
is complete here near side tackle brokeit across midfield a first down and more
nice job hauling that one in wasJamie I Williams. And he picks up
the first down and they mark himdown and looks like at the thirty six
(33:00):
yard line. How many yards isthat right him? We'll see when they
marked it down at the thirty sixyard line, that's gonna be a twenty
three yard pickup and a quick handoff to Hugli this time left side and
Hugly up close to the thirty oneyard line, and that's gonna be five
more Bruce on the stop for theLions second down in five under seven minutes
(33:27):
to go here in this first quarteragain, Dog's leading seven nothing, back
with the football here on their secondpossession of this ball game. Slade Clayton
in there in the block of theh back spot to the left. Hugli
stays in there as the tailback. Here on second down in five stamp two,
Gagliano, Gagliano will take it leftside. Gagliano's got the running room,
(33:51):
he's got a first down, andhe's inside the twenty yard line,
and Gangliano is gonna be marked downand the eighteen yard line. That is
a thirteen yard pick up. AnotherAmberg transferring storage first down or we're just
clicking on offer hims right now.I'm doing a good job running and throwing
six twenty left in this first quarter. Ope like elading seven nothing and moving
(34:13):
the football down the field. Hereon their second possession of the game,
Lion's defense on their back here Uglystays in the ball game to the right
of Roman. Jagliano here on firstdown play action, throws nearside. Jamari
Miller nights spin move. He's stayinside the ten, inside the five touchdown
Bulldogs. Jamari Miller making some menmiss well that night miss did nifty moved
(34:38):
there, he caught it and puton a spin move and he was gone,
eighteen yard touchdown. Jamari Miller,Boy, that's truth. That is
tremendous. Tremendous great kept a greatthrow by Roman and then boy he did
that. You know that looked likeTerry Beasley back into Georgia game when I
(35:00):
played and we beat him in nineteenseventy one. Peasley made a move like
that, an outside move. Here'sthe point after tent by Will Carroll.
It is nothing. It is goodscore and drying power by our friends and
OPAL like a Power Services hometown peopleworking for you on line and OPLE like
a power dot Com. Dogs ontop. Fourteen nothing, five fifty five
(35:20):
left in the first quarter, andwe're back after this time out. You're
listening to Bulldog football here on thekick back here inside of Bulldog Stadium.
A great starting for the open likea Bulldogs scoring on their first two possessions
of the game. They leaded fourteennothing of the Lions of prattvill with five
(35:43):
fifty five left here in this firstquarter of play. We've dominated the first
five minutes Johnny Sissina and in overend kick it will be returnable by the
Lions inside the five yard line, trying to work that right side again and
good coverage by the Bulldogs and broughtdown across the fifteen around the sixteen yard
line. That's about the same. It's about the same place. Return he
(36:05):
right, trying to run from thatover here on this sideline back to the
wide side of the field and fourwe covered good. Then I believe we've
been working on our kickoff coverage alittle bit. Yep, George Thomas on
the return there and it will bethe We get a fourteen nothing lead here
now I believe it was fourteen tonothing over in Brattvil. Last about our
(36:28):
guys don't need to forget about that'sright Prattvill from their own eighteen yard line,
rigged in out of the shotgun, gets a stamp, and we'll go
to Errington trying to work it insidepretty good hole across the twenty five and
Arrington finally brought down and around thetwenty four yard line. Jackson Kilcrease comes
up and makes the stomp. There'stoo many. That's six yards six yards.
(36:54):
It'll be a second out of fourcoming up here from the twenty four
yard line. Arrington a big fella. He's gets a quick breather though it
looks like, oh he stays inthere now. Check that number one checks
in and he gets the hand offtrying to work right side, and a
(37:14):
nice jackal there by Jamarvey and Chenkinscoming up there, and it's gonna be
a pick up a baby one upto the twenty five yard fifty Jamaria jiggin.
All right, they're all for oneon third down conversions. Let's see
if we can make them oll fortwo right here. So that will say
one yard pickup third down in threeunder four fifty to go here in the
(37:34):
first quarter, and there's a timeout on the field, we'll take it
with him fourteen nuthing opel linka withthe lead four forty seven left in this
first quarter. We're back after this. You're listening to the Bulldog football here
out of the time out of thirtythree for the Prattville Lions. For they're
on twenty five yard line. Here'sErrington left side. He's gotten the first
down across the thirty five and upclose to the thirty seven yard line.
(37:58):
He's gonna pick up twelve yards.A tough, hard run there by Donovan
Arrington, a pratt Ball first down. So that's a Lion first down up
to the thirty seven yard lie thatthat big hole open on the left side
right then, and it was thirdand three. We can't let him run
the ball, dam Opelika with afourteen nothing to lead as we play here,
(38:20):
first quarter, four twenty three andthe clock running, rigged it out
of the shotgun. He'll give itto Arrington and Arrington runs right and then
bounce it out and left. Andhe has brought down on the play.
And I stopped there by Tyrese Pittscoming up there for the Bulldogs and making
us nice tackle from the safety positionone yard, So I lost a yard
(38:44):
back to the thirty six. We'regonna chuck it here now, second down
and eleven. Get some usure onhim. Now, knock the ball down
for the Lions. Empty backfield. Now Errington will move in motion from left
(39:06):
to right. They'll throw it toArrington out of the backfield and it is
incomplete. He dropped it at thethirty one yard line as jamarv and Jenkins
was coming for him. So itwill bring up a third down and eleven
here for the Lions with three thirtyfive remaining in this first quarter. Big
play right here now, third andeleven. This is their second third down
(39:29):
conversion. Dry they are oh forone. Let's see if we can hold
them again. To rest Thomas,a freshman in their defensive end on the
right side. Also in there,Kate and Harris comes in there on the
defensive line. He got Altred Smileyto the left. Here on this third
and eleven play, Rigdon out ofthe shotgun, gets the stamp, here
(39:52):
comes the pressure, dumps it offand it's caught. Nice move at the
thirty five yard line and up closeto the first down, breaking a couple
of tackles for the first down.Up the midfield was number fifteen Donovan Brown
and a big nice job there byBrown to catch set ball and makes some
men miss and pick up that firstdown. It's about a twelve yard fourteen
(40:12):
yards, Yeah, that's that's poor. Fourteen yards and up to midfield from
the fifty yard line. Now theLions after that first down catch rigged in
out of the shotgun, trying todraw the Dogs off side. Now will
change his play. Dogs looked likethey were bringing the heat on this first
down play here from midfields or approachedthe three minute mark here in the first
(40:32):
quarter. I think they're they're tryingto slow the game down a little bit.
They want to try to make surethey get some points on the board
here rigged, it gets the stamp. He goes to Arrington right side,
another good hole across the forty fiveand down to the forty six yard line.
Tackle may number fifty. That's asix yard pick up. Well,
(40:53):
we gotta we gotta stop that horsestaff down to the forty four yard line.
I think he second out of fourcoming up for the Lions. Two
thirty remaining in this first quarter.Open like I still leads fourteen nothing,
but right now the Lions have somethinggoing. Load up that box. Don't
(41:15):
let him run between those tackles. Two receivers right singer receiver left side rigged
and gets the snamp, throws farside, it is caught and up close
to the first down again down closeto the forty yard line, and there's
a flag that comes in the lateIt looks like it may be a late
hit coming against the Bulldogs. Yeah, that's gonna be on us K J.
(41:36):
Blue on the reception, looked likeit was going to be enough for
a first down, but there maybe fifteen more tacked on. That's a
stupid penalty by US. A lightthe Dogs may a tackle out of ounds
and it was right on the pratticelsideline too. Ye don't know. This
is what we did last week.It gets Phoenix City. So a personal
foul against the Bulldogs fifteen will betacked on the end of that throw and
(42:00):
catch kJ Blue just coming back frominjury too, who just made that first
down grab, had a shoulder issue. We were told by the Lion radio
crew we need to stop him onfirst down. Fane on first down and
(42:24):
the ball spotted from the twenty fiveyard line. Arrington runs right side.
He stopped right at the line ofscrimmage of Mary Smiley. Jackson killed Crease
both in on the stop there.Smiley a little probably coming up, may
have rolled up his ankle a littlebit. He's gonna stay in the game.
Looks like he's okay. Second downand ten, ball spotted again at
the twenty five of Opelika. Here'sthe Lions moving right to left. That's
(42:45):
what the doctor ordered right there. Two wide outs to the left side,
Singer receiver, far side of thefield. Here for the Lions. Rick
didn't trying to draw the Bulldogs offsides again with that hard count. I
need to get autry and lightfoot inthere right there on that efensive tackle position
(43:08):
here. Second down and ten toLake Harrington gets into the area, Is
Smiley brings him down from behind fora two yard loss, banged to the
twenty seven yard lock. Holy goldTree had a bright good my league.
Here we go third down conversion vanthird and twelve. They're one for two
or third down conversions. Clock hasstopped right now at fifty four seconds left
(43:32):
in the first quarter. Michael layBy number ninety one. Maris Molly play
a lot two yards So third andtwelve coming up here for the Lions.
I had a procedure penalty. Okay, we decline, so that's the reason
the clock will stopped there with fiftyfour seconds, official winds the clock back
(43:52):
and well, now under fifty secondsleft. You gotta get pressure on this
guy. Two wide outs either siderigged it out of the shotgun ring to
do his left. Third and twelvecoming up for the Lions from the twenty
seven yard line. Pressure comes, wants to set up the screen incomplete.
Incomplete, Boy, there was ahit all the intended receiver there number one
(44:14):
Jordan a Bingda intended of a numberone. I've been nick back, I'm
a nigba. Yeah, there yougo. Incomplete and it's fourth and twelve
and now a good kicker in readMontgomery. He had several last week in
that loss against Dothan, and hewill try to kick it from the right.
Hash about a forty four yard orhuh so yeah, right about a
(44:42):
forty four yarder from the right hashhere for read Montgomery snap. Good kick
is away. It certainly has thedistance and it looks like he split the
uprights. It is good. Brambleson the board, a forty four yard
field goal. Goodbye eat at Montgomery. The senior kicker Crattle's on the board
(45:04):
with thirty one seconds left when wegot him. Let's set down for our
very first four seasons. Federal credityou to sideline report mc crack of dad
on the field back. How's itgoing these guys? Hey, they're fired
up down here. Let's sen coach. People been told him before the game.
He's like, look, all youunderclassman, just played for years seniors
tonight this is senior night. Andhe said, of course, the number
one thing to do is always playon that city across your chest, so
(45:27):
you know either and he encouraged himto play. He said, look,
guys, played better every single timeyou go out there. He said,
look, we got to correct, are holding our special teams from last week
and uh and you know, hey, we've done offensively really good right there.
Hey, great stop, uh defensivelyjust to give up that only that
field goal right there by the way. That kicker's got a great leg.
How's our proud papa to it?By the way too, a senior cheerleader,
(45:50):
dad, Hello, emotions band,it's emotional, right, hear I
hear you? Good times? Well, Hey, great night here at Bulldog
Stadium. Let's let's let's keep yougoing offensively. Hell her, we do
have her interview lined up for afterall. Right, that's back mccracking down
the sidelines. Brought you by fourseasons, Federal Credit Union. We got
a proud Graham pop up here too. To our right, you got you
got another senior day coming up herein a couple of weeks too, with
(46:14):
Caroline Spanish fourth Paxton Ganola with thekick rank to left, it's going to
sail into the end zone. JamariMiller is there. He will not be
able to return that one, andthe Bulldogs will start first and ten from
their own a twenty yard line. The Dogs have scored on their first two
possessions of the game. Prattville ableto get a field goal on their second
(46:35):
possession of the game, and we'llsee if the Dogs can continue their streak
of scoring here in a fourteen threeball game with thirty one seconds left here
in this first quarter, again broughtto you by L and M. Pont
and Gun, your go to stopfor great reliable guns, carry handguns,
shot guns, rifles, as wellas all the accessories you want. That's
L and M. Pont and Gun. Open Monday through Saturday from nine am
six pm. Twenty twenty Fox RunAvenue. Went Opalaika. Man, it's
(46:57):
a big drive Dogs right yard line. See what we can do with it.
Gagliano out of the shotgun first andten from his own twenty yard line.
Two receivers right, single receiver tothe left side. It will be
a handoff and nice job. Continuingto fight hard for yards is Hugle.
He's got a first down. Hecontinues to move the pile across the thirty
five and he's up to the thirtyseven yard line, and that is a
(47:21):
seventeen yard pick up, a laboratetransferred storage first down. I will find
number ninety five Gagliano wants to hurryto the line and get a playoff,
and he will get one completed toBennett Young at the forty five. They'll
market at the forty six yard line. That's another quick nine yards close to
a first town and that will bethe last play of the first quarter.
(47:44):
Dogs with a fourteen three lead, and they continue to move well on offense
as we end the first quarter ofplay fourteeen three Dogs on top back.
After this, you're listening to bulldogfootball on the kicker back here. As
(48:05):
we get ready for the second quarterof Playbrondie by Auburn Premier Air. Dogs
lead at fourteen three. Back withthe football. This time, the Dogs
will flip the field. They'll movefrom right to left and Gagliano and company
at the line of scrimmage there atthe forty six yard line. They're on
forty six here on the second andone play, and I'll goes to the
tail back. There's a first down. Calvin Hugli's gotten up to midfield.
(48:27):
That is a four yard pick up, all right, that is a first
down throw ball. I can Lamberttransfer and storage first down. So right
at midfield, this offense coach hasreally looked smooth done whale Van. I
just fixed the say. We reallyneed to come back after that field goal,
which was set up by that fifteenyard penalty that we had no business
(48:49):
getting. But to be able toget the ball come back and drive it
again, it's really good for theDogs, all right. Right at midfield,
first and ten, we're just underwearin the second eleven twenty seven and
the clock running with the Dogs witha football man in motion and a flag
comes in. This made be aprocedure penalty against Opelika. That's twenty yards
(49:09):
and penalties and we'll be a fiveyard penalty that'll back the Dogs back to
the forty five yard line. DrewGagliano, Jamari Miller both check in the
ball game. Good buddy, JayStern listening to us tonight, Jay,
hope you're doing well. I'm tryingto get that score update there for the
(49:30):
Kennel students, for you, hopethe hope the deer are eating well tonight.
There for you. Two receivers eitherside. Gagliano out of the shot
gun a first and fifteen Now Dogsfrom there on forty five yard line.
Gagliano tromps back throws to hugely outof the backfield, hugles across midfield.
He's across the Prattville forty five, across the Prattville forty and he's at the
(49:52):
thirty five yard line of Prattville.Another Lambert transferring storage first down, a
twenty yard pickup on that first I'mthrowing catch a ball down so all the
way down to the thirty five ofPrattville. Dogs, hurry back up.
Hugli's got in the backfield. Thistime the Lions converge and they wrap him
(50:12):
up. Luke Gordon and company forthe Lions, and on that stop at
number ninety four are long one yardsecond down, eleven second down and eleven
As that play lost a yard backto the thirty six yard line and a
bounce back and half from that fanwe need points this time now. I
(50:34):
was trying to run fast there, and that time the Lions were ready as
Luke Gordon, the linebacker came inon that stop. I'm not sure if
Luke is the same linebacker. Lastyear they made like sixteen tackles. Coach,
remember that linebacker from Brattville. Wejust could not not find a way
to stop him last year. Yeah, I'm not, I'm not. I'm
not sure. Second and eleven,uh no, toss around on the end
around. But here's Jamari Miller. He's across the thirty, across the twenty
(50:57):
and that speed flying down to thefifteen yard line. Boy, they got
Miller going in motion. They fakedit to the back and then Miller on
the end around and he nearly brokeit all the way down to the fifteen
yard line. Twenty one yards andanother Bulldog first down. Gagliano rolls to
his left as they hurry the snapoff. Gagliano win some trouble. Now
we'll try to make some man miss. Gagliano stayed on his feet. Somehow
(51:21):
he walks it in touch down Dogs. Gagliano just tiptoed through the line when
nobody was opening. Somehow he stayedon his feet at the finne and he's
in the end zone for the Bulldogtouchdown. Gagliano takes it in from fifteen
yards. Boy, coach, lookingat that replay, he broke through three
lions and somehow stayed on his feed. That was cool, man, That
(51:44):
was That was as big as anythingI've seen this year from us. There's
twenty to three years. The pointafter tent by Will Carroll, snapped down
places good kick up and it's good. Twenty one three. The Dogs have
scored on all three offensive possessions.Tonight to remain perfect. Twenty one three
ninety left in our first half andthe score and drying powered by our friends
(52:06):
at Opalaca Power Services, hometown peopleworking for you online at Opelika power dot
com. Back after this word forGlenn Smith's seventh all three offensive possessions,
Coach McCracken, three touchdowns. That'spretty good, unbelievable. Great, and
listen, how about how about sevenbig plays already in this game? Seven
(52:31):
big plays? Gotta like it?Well, I tell you, oh,
you gotta love that Van. Thishas been a very good show in after
last week's heartbreaking lost to Central. That one goes in the end zone by
Johnny Sassina. It is a touchback. And when nine forty left in our
first half of play, Oh Blakeelites at twenty one to three, here
(52:52):
a Bulldog Stadium, Pratt three andout on their first offits a possession,
their second offits a possession. Coach, they found a way to move the
football and had some good run gamegoing by Donovan Arrington, Gavin Rigdon with
a couple of nice third down throws, but it had to settle for a
field goal. And are the bigone with the big ones? Were way
up fourteen and they get the fieldgoal, and then we come back with
(53:14):
the touchdown. Absolutely, that's that'sthe way you answer. Now. Bulldogs
defense comes back out rigged in outof the shot gun for the Lions.
I'll go back to Arrington trying toget the ground game going left side,
and a nice tackle over on thefar side of the field. And I
believe that was Cavante White on thestop for the Bulldogs. No check that
(53:39):
that was Carson Moss on the stopthere for the yard game. Carson Moss
second out of six. They gotfour yards on that one up to the
twenty four yard line. So prattvilfrom their own twenty four facing a second
down and six. Arrington a toughguy to bring down. They were concerned
about this offensive line of Pratt bullThe Lions crew we talk to, they've
(54:06):
done pretty good. Here's another wholeleft side. Harrington's got a hole,
he's up close to midfield. Hecarries it all the way up to the
forty nine yard line and that's gonnabe a twenty five yard run there by
Donovan Harrington the first hours. That'svery big place for them. Now Prattvil
Lion first down close to midfield fromtheir own forty nine yard line, eight
(54:29):
forty left. First half, Lionswith two receivers right, single receiver to
the left side, right back toArrington. They'll go yeah this time bottle
up and a nice stop there bythe Bulldogs and the first person there for
the Bulldogs jamarv and Jenkins. WhatI like about what I see in tonight
is after Prattvill runs the ball orhas a big play, we've come back
(54:51):
and stuff and which is really good. You know. It's kind of like
you're not gonna come in our stadiumand do this stuff well. Lions from
their own fort seven yard line hereon second down and twelve after that loss
on the play. Great job bybejam Marvey and Jenkins. He's been a
really good linebacker so far this seasonedif he gave the head Hunter Awards steal
(55:13):
Coach, he'd probably get one. Most games, Yes, sir, Two
receivers left singer receiver to the rightfor the Lions. Arrington out of the
shot gun here. On second downand twelve gets the snap straight drop back
wants to throw. Pressure comes Aultreyhit him after he threw the ball,
and it's complete though close to afirst down. He Donovan Brown. Nice
(55:34):
grab Donovan Brown and that is goodto the forty four yard line and that's
gonna be a nine yard pick up. So third down and three, here's
a big third down. Boy.I tell you Rigdon took a shot from
a leak entry when he threw thatone away. Yeah, I saw that.
Rigged did a nice job standing thereand making the completed pass. Though,
third down and three, this isgonna be there, the big boy
(55:55):
right here. They're gonna just handhim to it. Our receiver either sign
airing ten right behind Rigdon. Hegets the handoff. No, it's a
play action and it is incomplete.Good coverage there by the Bulldogs, but
they're gonna get Opelika on a passinterference. They had the mismatch. I
think they wanted there and had oneof the linebackers covering the wide receiver,
(56:19):
and I think he may have gottenthere. A little early white hat has
yet to come over to officially makethe call. It's pass interference against Opelika,
So that will be a fifteen yardpenalty, and that's gonna move the
chains for the Lions and Prattwell isgonna be inside at the thirty yard line.
It looks like down at the twentynine yard line of Opelika, first
(56:43):
down seven or four left, twentyone three our score, Opelika with the
lead. The Lions, though onthe move here at the Bulldog twenty nine
yard line. Snap goes to Rigdon, Errington gets it and Ericton's tackled by
Amari Smiley in the backfield back atthe thirty three yard line. He is
gonna lose us to four yards maybebore. There's another one where they got
(57:06):
the big play and then we turnedaround and stuff them. Now five yard
loss on the play. Come on, dogs in good shape right here now,
five yard loss after that tackle byAmari Smiley in the backfield. Got
to see some more of that boy. Also, we got we gotta get
our hands up on this little quarterbackwhen he lets the ball go six thirty
left here in this first half ofplayers were playing in the second quarter here
(57:29):
Riggedon out of the shot gun, second and fifteen at the Opal like a
thirty four play action. Rigdon wantsto throw steps back throws across the middle,
wide open at the twenty yard line. It is complete down close to
the fifteen yard line, number seventeen. Clayton bow Rider on the reception there.
That's another Lion first down. Boy, the quarterback, Gavin Rigdon's coming
(57:52):
into the night coach, he wasreally, you know, has not been
playing very well this season. Howmany yards on that one? Van?
They marked it down at the sixteenyard line. That is an eighteen yard
pick up. Yeah, that's anotherbig play. First and ten of the
sixteen of Opelika. Man in motionfrom right to left, Rigden gets the
(58:15):
hand off Errington this time swallowed upright in the backfield again and I'm Aori
Smiley first one there for the Bulldogs. I don't think they got anything that
I don't think so, good jobfront also in to assist on that tackle.
Come on, we gotta hold themright here now. We don't want
to let him score here. Playpildy game, second down ten, So
(58:37):
no gain on the place, seconddown and ten for the Lions. Five
sixteen clock running here in the secondquarter, Opelika with the twenty one to
three lead five eleven left and thesecond quarter brought us Runney by Auburn premier
Air Rigdon. Out of the shotgun. They'll move the tight end in the
(58:58):
h back from right to left andthey'll give it to Errington left side,
pretty good hole. There is aflag on the plays they tackle at the
thirteen yard line. The flag wasthrown. I think before the plague even
got going. Coach this is gonnabe I don't think somebody got set,
or it could be off sides onOpelika. We'll see they're looking towards the
(59:20):
opal like a sideline. I thinkcoach Speakman is indicating he wants to take
the penalty. So it is aprocedure penalty against practical here good coach Speakman
wants to back him up. It'sgood, good, good second and fifteen
so back to around the twenty oneyard line is where this ball will be
(59:44):
spotted. Four forty five clock running. They're more pressure that little fella if
he's gonna throw it. Rigged Inout of the shotgun gets the snap,
they'll go to Errington right side, and Errington with another good surge across the
fifteen down to the fourteen y'all linefor seven yards back will made about back
at all and that will set upa third down and seven. All right,
(01:00:10):
Van, this is big here now, so a four to fourteen left
a big third down. This willbe a thanks a third and eight coming
up here for the Lions. They'llhave two wide three wide owns to the
right. Looks like a single receiverto the left side. Rigdon's still trying
to get his troops. Blake lockeddown to nine, down to eight,
(01:00:34):
still talking to his tailback Donovan Arringtonto his rights, gets the stamp just
off with one and now he's flushedfrom the pocket and he's gonna go down
sacked on the play. There isa flag also down on the plate,
and we'll wait and see what thatis. And Malik all Tree and also
number ninety nine Jackai lightfoot in thereon the stop and it's gonna be a
(01:00:57):
penalty against Prattonville. It's another procedurepenalty and coach Speakman declines that it's fourth
down, and they bring the fieldgoal team back in read Montgomery already with
a forty four yarder and this one'sgonna be right in the middle of the
field for this attempt. From theseventeen yard line. This will be a
(01:01:19):
thirty four yarder from right in themiddle of the field. Already blocked this
guys, come on, already gota forty four yarder snapped down and the
kick is up and it is good. But there is a flag on the
play. I believe the Bulldogs mayhave been off sides. It is off
sides against Opelika. Penaized five yards. Still not going to be a nearly
(01:01:49):
enough for a first down. Butthis will be around a twenty nine yarder
now for the middle of the field. Three thirty two left. Well,
he made this one. Maybe wecan get this one. Maybe the penalty
will come back to help us here. Yeah, so see if the Dogs
can get a blog read Montgomery toattempt the field goal here at three twenty
and our clock running here in thesecond quarter, snap down, hold good
(01:02:13):
and that kick again is up andit is good. Boy, they got
a good kicker. It on thecoach, Yeah, he's really good.
Read Montgomery puts it through the twentynine yard are up in good. Three
twelve left here in this second quarterof play twenty one six Dogs on top
of the Lions on the board. After that field goal. Good by,
Read Montgomery. You're listening to opelike a Bulldog football here on ninety seven
(01:02:35):
point seven kicker FM right now.The Dogs defense keeping the Lions off the
out of the end zone, atleast settling for field goals. Two field
goals so far for the Lions, and they trail open like a twenty one
to six as the Bulldogs await thekick here from Paxton Jano Lar sit say
(01:02:58):
Read Montgomery, and we'll see atthe bulldoz and get some more offense.
They've scored on all three possessions sofar here tonight, and they lead at
twenty one to six. That kickend over in that's gonna sail into the
end zone. A good kicking departmenthere at Prattville, for sure. And
when we got him a little headdown for a four seasons Federal Credit Union
shine Line report mc mccracket down onthe field, ayway, Pop, you
(01:03:21):
gotta like that now, I mean, even though you would hate the yeah,
I know, yeah, yeah, you you're hating the personal fouls there
with the you know, with theyeah that gave them their first but look,
that's a field goal. You'll takefield goal, field goal, And
they were scoring on every drive here, so a great way to cap it
here with three twelve left. Let'ssay if we get a good old a
long drive here to to take itto half. We got seven big plays
(01:03:45):
too. Out of the shotgun formation. This will be Gagliano from his own
twenty yard line. Gangliano gets asnap and handoff goes to Hugle left side,
and Hugly is gonna be hemmed upfor a pretty short pickup there,
maybe one yard up to the twentyone yard line. I think they'll give
him one and it'll be second downand nine under three minutes to go.
(01:04:06):
It was actually Javan Williams, Ishould say, not Hugly yards two fifty
one left. Clocket is running herein the second quarter. We've thrown the
ball all over the field on theseguys. I mean he's got one hundred
and forty yards throw. Gagliano wantsto take a shot here across the middle
(01:04:26):
of the field. He's got himopen across midfield, one man to beat
inside the thirty five, inside thetwenty five and a shoe string stop at
the twenty yard line. Is thatpass was hooked up with Davy Young Jones,
a senior wide receiver, and hegets in the ball game and makes
a huge grab all the way downto the seven eighteen yard line of Prattville
(01:04:47):
yards. That is a sixty twoyard hook up there, Jones. And
there's hugly right side as the dog'shurried up and they're gonna bring him down
in the fifteen yard line, apick up of two yards. You're not
gonna believe Gagliano's throwing at two yard. He's thrown six and seven passes and
(01:05:09):
I guarantee you right at two hundredyards throwing the ball on Well, that
was a pretty good time for DaveyanJones's second catch of the season. Coach
mccrackett, would you believe that?Yes, sir? Time out on the
field, two sixteen remaining here inthis second quarter of play in the Dogs
offense continues to move. Bullog fansdon't forget City of Opelaka Mayor Gary Fuller,
(01:05:30):
proud supporters of Opalaika Schools go Dogsfrom the City of Opelika. We
mentioned it earlier, you got tomention it again. Certainly good to see
Mayor Fuller back on his feet hereat the Bulldog Stadium. The friendly confines
tonight had a chance to come uphere in the press box and get his
misstories. Chili Dog at him andBill Trent, one of our fine sponsors
of Bulldog football, and Mayor Fullerstill down there on the sidelines visit him
(01:05:54):
with everybody, and a couple ofweeks ago he just wasn't quite ready to
make it to the ballpark. Buthe made it last week to Central and
he made it here tonight, Sotwo weeks in a row. And boy
he's looking good too after surgery.Absolutely, I love him to death.
He's a great mayor, all right. So the Bulldogs having out of the
time out here it was a heattime out, or actually time out taken
by Opelike. It'll be second downand eight at the fifteen yard line of
(01:06:17):
Prattonville, and here comes a handoffright side of Javan Williams. Will misdirection
and Williams may have picked up acouple of yards pretty good defended down to
the thirteen yard line. That'll bea pickup of just two yards. So
it will be third down and sixcoming up here for Opelika yard. I
(01:06:40):
want to convert this first down, coach, but I think even if you
don't convert it. You let Johnny'shave seen a kick one here, one
fifty and the clock continuing to run. My name is Greedy Grimes, and
I want to get another touchdown withthrow. Listen, he's throwing the ball
so well, six and seven forover almost two hundred yards out of the
(01:07:02):
shot gun formation. Here's Gangliano onthird down and six. It'll be a
handoff to Williams. Williams trying tobounce it outside, but boy, the
Lions converge on him and there's gonnabe no gain on the play cock badd
by number four tackle by Joris Thomas, and it will be fourth down and
(01:07:25):
six offense. It looks like they'restaying out there. I think, speaking
here, I think coach speak wasgonna let the clock wind down and take
a time out and and then tryto give Johnny a shot. Yeah,
I think I think maybe Johnny,we'll see. I hope well Ika certainly
has their repertoire of kickers they canchoose from My offense stayed out and Pratt
will burn the time out. SoPrattle burns a time out with fifty four
(01:07:49):
seconds left of fourth down and sixdecision time coming up. Here for the
open like a Bulldogs. We'll beright back after this time out. And
you're listening to the Bulldog football. Here on the kicker out of the time
out thirty yard or by Johnny Sassena, snap good, hold good, and
the kick is up and the kickis good. So Johnny Sassena out of
the time out puts up a thirtyyard field goal and that's tens. The
(01:08:11):
Opalika lead twenty four to six withforty nine seconds t remaining, So coach
Speakman does get the points there,Coach, good to see Johnny out there
with I know we had one missagainst Central last week, certainly had the
distance, but I didn't know tillafter the game last week. Coach.
They said there was a just abig time win down on the field at
Phoenix City. I was actually talkingto some folks when the Least got Glenwood
game just down the road, andthey said their kicker was struggling to get
(01:08:33):
it in the end zone and henormally boots it in the end zone just
about every time. And coach Speakmanand I even talked about it during the
week, how tough the win wasat Phoenix City last week. Every second
so a twenty four to six leadfor Opalaika with forty nine seconds left.
Again, our second quarter of Actionbrought to you by Auburn Premiere Air called
(01:08:55):
Auburn Premiere Air Today. Your HVACTMainenance Repair and replacement needs seven zero thirty
forty eight. Johnny's so Seena readyto kick this on away in Prattville will
have forty nine seconds left. TheLions will also get the football to start
the second half as they did deferand they won the toss, so we
don't want to hate. This isone of these kickoffs. Now, Hey,
(01:09:16):
we're wanna make sure we cover this. Put it in the end zone,
Johnny, there's an ice end overheadkick and that goes into the end
zone and that will be a touchpack a boy kickoff carries into the end
zone. Opeleto good job, right, I'm cracking down the shide line,
(01:09:41):
Matt. Good to see Johnny geta nice boot there. That was good.
Hey, I was with you onthat van. But when Papa said
greedy Grounds will touch down, hey, greedy Grounds can also get three points
too. Yeah. Yeah, look, I mean that's that's good for him
to have that, because those opportunitiesare gonna build up because you got later
on down the road. So thatwas good to see him a great kick
right there. I want to givehim anything right here, Matt, no
(01:10:04):
big place. You gotta get goodpressure on the quarterback, all right,
play action. Arrington's gonna take ashot down field. He's got a man
wide open, but he was pushedout of bounds and it's incomplete. Good
coverage there by Opa Lanka and thatwas well defended over on the far side
of the field. Incomplete. There'sgood coverage by Jamacus Phillips over there on
(01:10:27):
that far side of the field.Good job, day, Just keep pressure
net quarterback. Forty three seconds left. There are three receivers to the left
side, a single receiver to theright side, rigged it out of the
shot gun, and to the rightis Errington. Errington gets the hand off,
(01:10:53):
he'll try to bounce it out side. Swallowed up nicely over there on
the far side of the field.Good job, good job in coming up
there and making a nice job.Was to rest Thomas and Opelika is going
to take a time out now witha third down coming up here with twenty
seven seconds left, Yeah, we'regonna get the ball back. Your second
(01:11:14):
time out on the field. We'lltake it with him. You listen to
bulldog football here on the kicker.Hello, I'm Jessica Samuel with Opelika Power
Services. During the heating seasons, you can save energy by opening drapes and
shades on windows that are exposed todirect sunlight, taking advantage of solar energy.
Did you know you could save electricityduring the cooling season by keeping heat
(01:11:35):
producing appliances away from your thermostat andclosing drapes and shades. We're Opelika Power
Services, hometown people working for you. No gain on the third down out
of the time out there, andthis will bring up fourth down. May
have picked up a yard on theplay as Rigdon handed it to Arrington,
and this is going to be afourth down. Opelika will burn another time
(01:11:58):
out here, Coach McCracken. Sotwenty six seconds left, mart and a
chance to force travel into a punt. You may can block it, You
may can get a return. Youmay can even get the ball back and
take a couple of shots through theair here. And we did mention Prattville
we'll get the football to start inthe second half so we wouldn't have to
be something we get points. Ohyes, it would certainly be nice,
(01:12:19):
no doubt about that. So rightnow time out taking on the field,
Pratt will trying to think through thingshere. We got twenty six seconds left
and the Lions trying to get theirspecial teams in order here twenty four to
six. So well, I gowith the lead as we wind things down
(01:12:42):
here in the second quarter, rightbefore half a dollar Miller, So,
Jamari Miller is gonna stand right aroundmidfield, and dogs show like they're gonna
trying to go for the block hereand went for the block. Punter gets
it away and a fair catch takingat the forty five yard line with twenty
(01:13:05):
one seconds left by Jamari Miller. So a good punt there by Paxton Janola
and the Dogs will have right atfifty five yards to try to score here
with twenty one seconds left, orat least try to get down and range
where Johnny Sassena can maybe take ashot at another field goal. Coach mccracker
got one time out left or wereout of time out. I think no
(01:13:25):
timeouts left, so right now thepull I gotta have to put together a
drive with no time on the clockhere, No timeouts on the clock at
twenty one seconds, rather on theon the clock roaming throw. These outs
weaken Dogs will line up from theirown forty five yard line. Here were
twenty one seconds left, trying toget a late score. Here trips to
(01:13:46):
the left side, trying to geta screen. It's Talbert left side.
Talbot made a man miss, stiffarms a guy and he's out of bounds
at the forty five yard line. That stops the clock. With fourteen seconds
left and getting a little bit closerto Johnny Sassena territory. And that's enough
or not quite enough for a firstdown, I don't know. They say
first down right at ten yards andelaborate transference storards first down at the Pratt
(01:14:11):
bolt. And here's a trick play. They try to hand it to Jamari
Miller. Jamari wanted to pass. Now he does throw, and it is
incomplete. Nearly hooked up on theplay with number nineteen been itt Young,
but it's incomplete. With eight secondsleft. There is a flag on the
play, an ineligible man down field, apparently on Opelika. So the Dogs
(01:14:34):
trying the little trickeration there as Romanwas trying to come to the sidelines,
and we saw that work for atouchdown throw, but this time it did
not go to Roman. But itwas a penalty on the play. It'll
be a five yard penalty. Andnow eight seconds left downfield, when we
(01:14:56):
got time for one fifteen yard ourand we could kick him fifty yard field
goal. Gagliano will work out ofthe shotgun downs right at midfield after that
penalty, so right at the fiftyyard line, Gagliano will now bring Williams
in motion. They'll fake it toWilliams. Gagliano's pressured and he gets away
from the pressure here near side. He's got some running room and no time
(01:15:18):
on the clock. Gagliano is justgoing to be brought down in the Half's
gonna expire though, Gagliano taken downon the sidelines here near side. But
that will be the end of thefirst half of football. It wasn't good
one. The Bulldogs scored on everyoffensive possession, three touchdowns in a field
goal, and they lead at twentyfour to six as we are at the
(01:15:39):
halftime break. Coach mccracking not bad. I like what I say, especially
when we gave those keys to thegame. Penalties have been about the same,
but the big plays. We haveeight big plays to their four and
we have not turned the ball over. And I like the way we're throwing
(01:16:02):
the ball, so pretty successful score. Yeah, I like it too.
I like the way that we fightback after they make a play, then
we make a play absolutely. Sowe're at the half right now. Twenty
four to six is our halftime score. When we come back, we will
have a bit later on. We'llhave the spirit of the South Marching Band,
(01:16:23):
the Pravel Marching Band getting ready toperform. Right now. When we
come back, we'll talk a littlebit about your first half. Right after
this, you listen to Bulldog Football. Welcome you back to Bulldog Football.
We do apologize for some technical difficultieswe've been experiencing out here at the ballpark
tonight, but we do hope. We're back and ready to roll here as
we get you sent to bring youhope like a Bulldog football. Here on
(01:16:44):
ninety seven point seven, kicker FM. Van Raised joined alongside coach Spence
McCracken and coach McCracken. Well herewe're gonna try to get the second half
underway here. We completely changed ourentire set up here, but we think
we are. We're back ready togo. Sound real good. I'm you're
about drowning me out, which isgood. That's okay. I got a
couple of things I need to sayabout this first half. Let me say.
(01:17:09):
Can I say this? I hopeI don't get fired for saying this,
but my granddaughter was just selected asone of the Diamond Darlings the Auburn
Tigers. Ava McCracken, God blessyou, Ava, and good luck and
war Eagle. Well there you go. That is our standing coach. Well,
anyway, this game, this iswhat I'm taught. This is opened
(01:17:30):
like a football. This is calledwhen you get hit in the mouth,
you hit the guy back in themouth. And that happened four or five
times. After they kicked the fieldgoal. Then we came back and had
a drive and scored. After theyscored their second field goal, we came
back with a drive and scored ourtouchdown. So you know what we matched
(01:17:53):
with them. But I can't saynothing about Roman. Let's get down the
sidelines. Mac's got to coach speakingwith standing by mack ahead ys coach,
you talked to your team before thegame and you said get better and better
every single week. They came downand short of the first half. Yeah,
we had a good first half.I talked to him at halftime about
finishing. We gotta get better andcome out in the second half and finishing
and uh and I think we'll dothat, especially with these new headsets.
(01:18:15):
We have to night. All right, coach, let's close it out here.
That better for you, coach? All right? Yeah, I think
I was cutting the wrong one down. Mac. How what do you think
of what was the bestage there inthe in the locker round there from coach
Speakman in his credit, Well, like he said, he you know,
he talked about finishing the game.He said last year we did not finish.
They got a gun of intense inthere and the boys all were fired
up with it and said we didnot finish. We're gonna finish this ball
(01:18:39):
game. Well, I liked thatmessage. That's a good one there.
Yeah, go ahead, coach Mack. This only Hey, I want you
to think about the last two orthree years. This first game where we've
got hit in the mouth and comeback and hit them back in the mouth,
and we did that three times afterthe field gold, after the second
field gold, and then we justdominated the end the half. Roman had
(01:19:00):
two hundred and eighteen yards throwing thefootball seven of eight passes. We beat
him in uh. Uh, webeat him in in plays, uh,
Making first downs, converting first downs, we beat them. Penalties were just
about the same. But those thingsthat happened in that central game did not
(01:19:21):
happen tonight, especially the big plays. And you you're you're right, dad,
We're we're we're getting we're getting betterand better. And but the thing,
you know, we've got to shureup on those penalties like you,
just like you just mentioned, andI know a big one, uh could
be of any any head coach inthe whole wide world. Giving up big
third down plays. Yeah, youknow, let's try. Let's try to
(01:19:41):
shut that down. And let's seeif Joel Johnny could put one here in
the d and knock on wood. Our kickoff team on those first three kickoffs
was really good. All right,So we're just about ready to bring you
the second half of action. Wedo apologize here unable to bring you most
of our halftime there, and coachMcCracken will get us caught up on some
of those stats here. Momentarily appreciateJason Lee behind us here for being our
(01:20:03):
engineer behind the scenes, helping usget the equipment out of the truck to
get hooked up there as we hadone of our complete boards here go completely
out on us. So we uh, that's why we bring back up equipment,
Coach. We learned over the yearsbetter bring two or three different pieces
of equipment. And we've got aboutthree different things up here going. I
just have about three things on thestats, which I'll give you after this
(01:20:29):
first play. All right, fromthere on twenty yard line, the Prattville
Lions will go and again out ofthe shott and gun formation as a movement
penally there on Gavin Rigdon would bea good, great way to start right
there, great way to start,So Riggdon back Five's gonna move back five
yards. So we had two hundredand fifteen yards passing and they had forty
(01:20:53):
eight. Big difference right there. The biggest one was big plays. We
had eight big plays and they hadfour, and that was the difference.
All right, out of the shotgunformation. Now first and fifteen to throw
the far side of the field andhit first out of bounds, very short
(01:21:13):
pickup up to the sixteen yard line, and that will be a pickup of
just one yard the white So thiswill be second down in fourteen, first
five minutes of the third quarter.Real big right here, Van, They
(01:21:35):
got the football. Let's take itright back away from them. Shotgun formation
is Prattville. Rigdon gets a shotand gun Stamp gives it to Errington.
Arrington bouncing down side to the leftside, and Errington a good pickup across
the twenty five yard line, andErrington gonna being close to the twenty seven
yard line, and it's gonna beclose to an eleven yard pickup, still
(01:21:58):
short of the first down. Bigthird down play here eleven o seven remaining
here in this third quarter as weare just underway end quarter number three,
twenty four to six, Hopelika withthe lead over Pratt Violle two trips receivers
rather to the right side and asingle receiver to the left side, getting
(01:22:19):
the snamp. Here's Rickdon throws herenear side past complete, but a nice
job and in there to make anice tackle. Number fifteen jamarv and Jenkins
in there on the start. Theymight go for this, Yeah, pick
up a maybe one. It's gonnabe a fourth down in two at the
twenty eight yard line, and herecomes the punting team Pratt. We're not
gonna take any chances here in atwenty four to six ball game. Oh
(01:22:42):
that's great, buyer d fifth Mac. That's a great start right there,
first five of the third quarter.Absolutely absolutely makes for no trickery here.
All right, there we go.Mack still allowed for you down there.
You're good, buck, Okay, ten and two remaining in the third quarter,
and here comes Paxton Genola to puntit away end over en fair catch
(01:23:05):
immediately called for by Jamari Miller andtaken at the thirty eight yard line.
So the Bulldogs should have good fieldposition here with ten o two remaining.
Good job by Jamar. Looks likethey've been working on those park returns too.
They had a lot of confidence catchingthat ball right there by him in
the middle of all our melee. There our visit a coach speakman at the
half. Brought to you by Hundayof Auburn. Hunday of Auburn, Brown,
(01:23:26):
sponsor of Opal Like a Bulldogs Hunt. Day of Auburn sells cars made
in the state of Alabama. They'vegot America's best warranty. Hunday of Auburn
off opal like a road in Auburn. All right, So here comes the
Bulldogs first in ten from there onthirty eight yard line. All right,
let's keep the hammer down. Jaglianoout of the shotgun from his own thirty
(01:23:48):
eight yard line. It will bea handoff and meant right in the backfield,
taking out by a big fella CameronUnderwood was Jay the young Williams,
and he's gonna lose maybe two threeyards depending on the spot. Here looks
like they're gonna give him a twoyard loss. It'll be second down in
twelve. Bad way to start.Somebody didn't block anybody on that right side
(01:24:13):
up there. We've been doing agood job whether our offensive line fierce Thomas
kil Chris Epperson and Ross doing areal fine job up there. From they're
on a thirty six yard line. Two receivers to the right. Tailback is
Javan Williams, who stays in thegame here on second down. Nope,
(01:24:33):
hugly rather in the back field andoff here near side, hugely across the
forty and he's up to the fortyone. He gonna be a kind a
four yard pick up for Calvin hugelyand then we'll set up a third down
and eight four. The Bulldogs hereat nine o two left. Running clock
here in the third quarter, eightfifty o'clock continues to run third down conversion
(01:25:03):
down. This is important. They'llmove jamari our Javon Williams in motion.
Gagliano is to throwback here near side. It is caught hauled in by then
our Blake Johnson rather and no gainon the play. It'll be fourth down
and it'll be punning time here forthe Bulldogs. Eight twenty seven o'clock continues
(01:25:25):
to run, and it'll be thefirst time tonight we see Roman Gagliano drift
back in punning formation. Coach.First down, the Dogs have been forced
to punt. Yes, sir, that's the first non connected third down conversion
two and that's one for Prattel andone for us. So we just swapped
eight minutes four minutes on the clock. Gagliano rolls to his right, puts
(01:25:50):
a nice boot into this one sailingpunt, hits up for thirty three and
takes a nice roll that rolls insidethe twenty yard line, and it's gonna
be down close to the fifteen yardline. Nice, nice, nice,
nice, so down around the fifteenfor close to a forty four yard punt.
There by Roman Gagliano so good punt. There By Gagliano and East got
(01:26:15):
the Bulldogs set up or there theBullogs defense set up with Prattville's offense backed
up to around their sixteen yard line. That's where they're gonna start here.
Third quarter of playbroad do you buyTally Cohn Farmers co Op? Follow us

one and Highway fourteen. Rigged itout of the shotgun. As the Lions
will start for their own sixteen yardline. They give this to Errington,
and Errington gonna be wrapped up fora short pick up there on the play,
Hey, nice, stopped by numberninety nine Jakai lightfoot. That's a
pickup of one up to the seventeenyard line. We detect that every time
(01:27:02):
man run clock and give him oneor two yards on the rush. Our
front, I can't tell you howgood our front's playing tonight, and the
linebackers not letting him run the footballwith that big stud Bravill's second down and
nine Rickdon changing his play at theline of scrimmage. He does have the
(01:27:26):
big fella Arrington to his left. That's Donovan Arrington. They're running back trips
receivers to the right side, seekingreceiver to the left. Rickdon drops back
throws across the middle. It iscaught and hauled in. There is a
flag on the play as that passescompleted up to the twenty one yard line
to number six kJ Blue on thereception. This has been being off procedure
(01:27:49):
penalties on Rappel. Let's see whatthis one is, Jack studdered rather on
the reception there five yard penalty againstthe Lions. It's going to back them
up. We'll replay second down.So seven minutes remaining here in the third
(01:28:15):
quarter of late twenty four six.Again our score Opelika, with the lead
over the Lions and the Lions backedup five yards with the football was seven
minutes to play here in the thirdquarter, Prabb, we'll taking their time
getting situated down to thirteen on theplay clock. That's all right, let
(01:28:35):
them take their time down to ten. Two receivers either side. Rigdon gets
the shotgun snap and he goes toArrington got a block hit by Smiling in
the backfield, and then I hostthe Bulldogs including Jamarve and Jenkins and company
in there to stop him. Boy, Jamarvy and Jenkins flying around there.
(01:28:58):
First one, I got a blockon all Tree and then Smiley was in
there to hit him, and Jenkinswas there to clean it up. Loss
of a yard. It'll be thirddown and ten coming up. He's really
played well tonight, Van calling hisname out a whole lot. Big third
down play right here. Sure isthird and ten here for the Lions,
(01:29:18):
and they moved Arrington jumped the tailback. He got a head start. That's
gonna be on the offense. Soit was Errington getting a head start there
out of the backfield. Six oldone remaining and it looks like it maybe
another five yard penalty against the Lionshere. I think they're going they're talking
(01:29:42):
about who who moved first. Stillsome discussion going on, quite a long
discussion. Yeah, I don't knowwho moved first ban. Yeah, there's
(01:30:02):
a procedure penalty against the Lions,so we'll be a five yard penalty.
It's gonna go against pratt Bol Sothat's gonna back them up start. That's
fifteen yards and penalties already for prattBol So that's gonna back them back to
the twelve yard line. This willbe a third down and fifteen for the
(01:30:26):
Lions. Not where you want tobe. Five forty six left along a
third down. Here's a Lion's trail, opal like in twenty four to six,
five forty one remaining here in thisthird quarter. Rigged it out of
the shotgun, drops back, takesa shot deep and it is hauled in
and called and hooked up with BrodyBowman for a first down, a huge
(01:30:47):
reception up to the forty yard line. That'll play good for twenty eight yards.
That's the deepest shot we've seen thequarterback Gavin rigged in take tonight and
that was all the money Rody Bowman. First down, Lions up to the
forty yard line. Rigged it outof the shotgun here first down, he
wants to roll to the right, looks down field, pressure comes and he's
(01:31:10):
just got to dump it away ashe took a shot from a league altrey
and it's incomplete. He was tryingto hook up with kJ Blue and around
the thirty eight yard line, butit's incomplete. If shots like that they
had don't feel very good. Yeah, that does, little kid. You
remember in the fourth quarter, youknow when you when you're going along five
twenty four left here in this thirdquarter of play twenty four to six Opelanka
(01:31:36):
with the lead, and there wasa penalty after the play, Mac,
I missed that. Did you seewhat the filly was? The legal substitution?
Okay, all right, thank youMac. Sideline and four Broughty by
four seasons Federal Credit Union back nowbringing us the greatest news. There penalty
against the dogs, five yard penaltyup to the forty five go the Lions
and this will now be a firstand five Pram will checking those sidelines as
(01:32:02):
Gavin Richton, the quarterback for theLions, gets everybody set at the line
of scrimmage. Two receivers right andnow the h back and tight end shift
from left and line up heavy setright side. That's where Arrington tries to
run bounced outside and he has takendown for a short pickup of one yard.
A job defense. Good tackle byCarson Moss coming over making the stop
(01:32:24):
for the Bulldogs, the junior strongsafety. Good job by the defense right
there. I just keep that. There's another flag on the play. This
might be a blocking in the backover here on this side. I don't.
It's kind of in the in therange where that was thrown. So
we'll wait and see white hat there. White hat checks over and we'll get
(01:32:48):
his call now, and it's gonnabe a block below the way. It's
a good call, Coach mccracket.Yes, sir, right over here on
this sideline, I want a prapswide outs that's a fifteen yard or isn't
it? All right? That wasjust a kind to spot the ball back
(01:33:14):
of the thirty six yard line, and it will be a replay first down,
so it'll be first and fifteen, all right. At fourteen, handoff
goes to Harrington. He has swallowedup in all there and he has bottled
up. Great job Malique al Treeto kind of like foot in there on
the stump for the Bulldogs. Fourunder, four fifty to go, and
(01:33:40):
that play failed to gain second down, and again fourteen for the Lions.
They're from their home thirty five yardline and the clock's running. That's that's
what I like, running clock, not giving a team. We don't give
me any big plays now like thatpast play we got a few minutes ago,
(01:34:01):
bratvill on second down and fifteen fromthe thirty five yard line, handoff
goes to Airrington. He's bottled upin the backfield. He's gonna go down.
Smiley was there and also in thereon the stop linebacker Jamarvey and Jenkins
again and also we got a Smiley'sgotten a lot of positive results from a
(01:34:26):
lot of people that I know ofthat no football, and I know Kenny
Prescott's really proud of him. Haveto get a clarification on a number.
On our defense, we had somejersey swaps going around with the sizing third
down. Oh Alan Jackson okay,so Alan Jackson, swamp numbers, Okay,
(01:34:50):
here to the near side. Athrow and it's picked up by the
Dogs, intercepted by JaMarcus Phillips atthe forty five yard line. Third down
throw this time defense there that's taughtby JaMarcus Phillips. That's the first turnover
of the game and the Dogs gotit. Big play, got a boy.
(01:35:11):
So the Bulldog offense back on thefield thinks to a defensive interception and
Opalika is gonna have it at theforty two of Prattville. And there's a
sideline warning that's been issued on Opelikaafter that interception or the Dogs will have
it at the Prattville forty two yardline. And there's you a defensive play
of the game that's gonna be broughtto you. Buy our friends at Western
(01:35:33):
Sizzling. James Cooper and his teamfed the team earlier today. And if
you're hungry for a good steak WesternSizzle and the police to do and let
him cook your hand cutting black Angussteak and don't forget that buffet and fresh
salad bar, Western Sizzling Steakhouse,Fox Run Parkway in Opelika. Really good,
we did. We had our pregamemeal there last week. Hey,
(01:35:55):
look for a big play right here, all right? I dried something right
here at the forty two of Prattville. Here is the Bulldogs two receivers left
side singer receiver right play action Romanhere comes. He wants to take a
shot. Nothing there though, Romanwill step up in the pocket Now he
throws on the run for Tolbert andhe's got into the twenty yard line.
First down. Dogs inside the twenty, they'll mark him down at the eighteen
(01:36:15):
yard line. It's gonna be atwenty four yard pickup and elaborate transfer and
storage first down. Roman had tolay that one right in there, beautiful
path down to the twenty eight yardline. Opelik in the red zone leading
twenty four to six, trying toadd two it. Roman drops back,
steps up, runs the left pressure, now stays on his feet and rolls
(01:36:36):
all the way here to the nearside. Now chunks it towards the end
zone, and it's Javion No thatis looked up and called by Jamari Miller
for the touchdown. Roman kept hiseyes down field and somehow he found Jamari
Miller. Wait a minute, Ibelieve there's a flag on the play,
(01:36:57):
but it's maybe a hold against Pramp. Well it is decline. Boy,
I'll tell you what coach m're cracking. I was great, yango. I
wish people that could not see thison TV. He rolled to his left
and threw that ball off his leftfoot about forty yards. Yeah, what
(01:37:18):
a beautiful pass, boy, Idon't think the coaches they were They were
talking to Roll when he came off. Here's the point after temp up and
goodbye Will Carroll. Dog stretched leadthirty one to six. Boy Roma was
rolling all the way to his left. Threw him across the field to the
right, and I know you coachednothing to do that. You a good
(01:37:41):
decision. Threw it off his leftfoot, o wheel. But he did
find Jamari Miller for the touchdown scoringdriving power by Open like a Power services
hometown people working for you online andopen like a power dot com. But
we're back after this. You listento the Bulldog football here on the kicker
(01:38:05):
kickoff goes in the end zone byJohnny's assina in the open like a bulldog
stretch. There lead thirty one tosix here at Bulldog Stadium as we play
with three ten remaining here in thisthird quarter of play and our third quarter
again brought to you by our friendsat Tally Khan Farmer's co ops. Mac
mac hey, Hey, how abouthim throwing off his left foot coming out
(01:38:27):
of Bay five athlete athlete some PlayStationstuff? Oh gosh, that would beautiful.
All right, Pratt, well backwith the football, but have it
first and ten from their own twentyyard line. Dropping back is Riggdon riggdon
pressure steps up in the pocket. He heaves it down field and it is
incomplete. Tried to hook up withthe Lions number four, and that's kJ
(01:38:51):
Blue at around midfield. Took anothershot, but us incomplete. Yeah,
wasn't nobody gonna catch that one? That would win over everybody's heads. Good
job by the second ear want togive up no big plays here. They're
just about through running the ball. They're down by twenty five, so you're
not gonna see a whole lot ofrunning by practically anymore. Clock is stunt
(01:39:15):
with three zho three remaining here inthis third quarter, hope like a leading
thirty one to six trips receivers tothe left side. A single receiver here
to the near side for the Lions. Rigged it out of the shot gun,
gets the snap, hands it offto Arrington. He nearly lost the
ball. He is able to getit back and he picked up two yards
up to the twenty three yard line. But it's gonna be third and around
(01:39:36):
seven here for the Lions. I'msure he's frustrated. Uh Oh Malik Malik
uh and lightfoot love this down righthere. They just gonna put the lower
of their ears back and a letterfly out of the shine gun formation is
(01:40:01):
the Lions, two receivers either side, third and eight dropping back near side,
pass complete and kJ Blues got ittrying to break a tackle. Did
a nice job fighting for extra yards. He's gonna be brought down of the
twenty nine yard line. It's gonnabe fourth and one picked up close to
nine yards on that throwing catch, and good job. I blewe to try
(01:40:25):
to keep the drive going, butgravel waste no time. They're sending in
the punting team. Paxton Genola comesback in to punt it away and Dogs
will send back. Jamari Miller, coach, you got a stanton line on
Roman. I was heading somebody who'sasking me how many yards? It's two
hundred and thirteen yards at half.Genola stands back to punt this one away.
(01:40:49):
Miller stands it around the forty oneto wake the punt end over in
and meately. Miller immediately waits forthe fair catch and calls for it.
So with one thirty three left inthe third quarter, Dogs coach, they've
scored every offensive possession except for one. There's been one punt in one field
goal for the Dogs so far today, pretty pretty successful evening. Well.
(01:41:12):
They have not turned the ball overtheir penalties or nothing like what happened in
Phoenix City. They have thirty thirtyfive yards and penalties. The kicking game
has been excellent, and roaming inthe offense had been excellent, and our
defense has been really good. Theyhadn't had a touchdown. Cagliano back out,
(01:41:34):
I'll fence for their own thirty eightyard line and Roman will hand the
ball off and nice hold up themiddle across midfield near sight has hugely got
one man to beat inside the tenfive hugle gone touchdown, hugele one play
to the house touchdown. How manyyards is down? About sixty two?
(01:41:55):
Sixty two yard a sixty two yardtouchdown run by Calvin Hugley and the Bulldogs
are pouring it on the Prattonville Lions. Tonight, Hey back you reckon?
On? Kion A baired yelling andscreaming about Calvin. Heck yeah, hey,
can you ey, can you invitatewith Lina tell I'm gonna tell,
I'm gonna tell Keian his son's gota little bit better burst on the long
(01:42:19):
range than he does. He pulledaway from that guy right there. That
was a great run. That wasbeautiful. Carol's point after temph upon good
dogs that stend their lead thirty eightto six, one twenty three left quarter.
You're listening open like a bulldog footballthat scot and Dry power by our
friends and opal like a power serviceshometown people working for you. One play,
(01:42:51):
sixty two yard touchdown run by CalvinHugely and the Dogs that stretched their
lead out thirty eight to six onthe pratt Lions kick in the end zone.
And that's another touch back by JohnnySissina. This is as bad as
I can ever remember us beating theseguys. Coach, it's not over two.
(01:43:12):
Let's keep poured it on. Yeah, I understand that. I understand
that. All right, one twentythree left in our third quarter of play.
Prattnell's offense has gone cold here inthis second half. They had a
twenty one to six ball game goinginto the half. But the Dogs have
poured it on. Here was seventeenpoints here in the second half. They
lead it thirty eight to six nowover the Lions and rigged it out of
(01:43:32):
the shot and gun formation. Fromhis own twenty yard line, hands it
off to Arrington left signed. Arringtoncut down. Nice tackle there by number
ninety nine, Jackailfoot, Yeah, godly, what a nine. Everything's going
good tonight. Van Riggs three yardpick up up to the twenty three and
(01:43:53):
it will be second down and sevencoming up here for the Lions. My
granddaughters senior night, their granddaughter beinga diamond darling at Auburn University and us
kicking butt thirty eight to six shotgun formation, second down and eight for
the Lions. Hand off to Arringtonleft side. He bounces this one outside
(01:44:14):
for a first down run across thethirty five and brought down at the thirty
six yard line up to the thirteenyard line. That'll move the chains for
the Lions. I saw coach ButchThompson a couple of weeks ago going into
the Auburn game. He told me, coach that you had a granddaughter coming
out to be a diamond dogs.Yeah. Really he was exiled, that
is I know. Jack, hisdaddy's proud and Max proud of I'm kidding
(01:44:38):
only I'm just glad to be him. We're cracking tonight. First down at
ten for the Lions under twenty secondsleft, maybe the last play here this
third quarter. Lions from there onthirty six yard line, they'll play action
to Arrington and then throw across themiddle, and it is caught first down
across midfield and the ball pumped out. There's a scramble for it at the
forty four yard line. Dogs theyhaven't. It was hauled in by callin
(01:45:01):
a Prattvil but the Bulldogs got it. Oh, Palaika has recovered the fumble.
I believe there was a scramble forit. There's an injured player.
I'm not sure if man did theyever signal opal like a football. I
don't think they did. I don'tthink they did either. But I don't
know who's down though, I can'tget a number. All right, there's
(01:45:24):
an injured player on the field. We'll step aside thirty eight six A dog
down on the field, O Plakaleading with just four seconds left here in
this third quarter of play, andwe'll keep it here as the injured player
is up on the field. That'sour linebacker jamarv and Jenkins so certainly good
signed to see him come off onhis own power there. It looks like
(01:45:45):
he's not quite tell what exactly he'sfavoring there, but trainer Jacob Ballard over
there checking on him, and Ithink I see a smile on his face
as he comes off the side,so that it's certainly a really good sign
to see good. This will bethe wea. There won't be another play
that'll wind the clock here in thethird quarter. We'll head to the fourth
(01:46:06):
will a thirty eight six lead.Bulldog Football continues after this All Dogs tonight,
thirty eight six. You'll listen toBulldog football here on the kicker football
first down and ten for the PrattvilleLions here as we open the fourth quarter
(01:46:27):
of play, Errington Ay tough farActually that's number one Jordan alban Agba who
checks in the ball game and runsright side for four yards second down and
at six coming up here for theLions as they are down to the forty
one yard line of Oakahlike as weopen up this fourth quarter. Thirty eight
six Dogs leading Prattville. Fourth quarterbrought you by Kim Dry of East Alabama.
(01:46:49):
Kim Dry, East Alabama. I'mproudly serving the community every day by
helping you maintain a clean, happyand healthy home. Give Shane Harris and
Kim Dry call three three, four, seven, four one thirty nine thirty
second down, they'll call it sevenfor the Bulldog forty one yard line,
and there's another tough run by albanIgba number one and to the thirty seven
(01:47:16):
yard line of Opelaika, and thatis kind of set up a third down,
so a little bit of a breatherfor Airrington and now Harrington actually will
stay on the sidelines. Kaden Harrisonon that tackle along with Alan Jackson.
Next week Prattville will take on stanHope Elmore and we did hear from the
Prattville guys after the stand Hope gameCoats are going to completely demolish their visiting
(01:47:40):
stands to start their renovation process inthe middle of the season. Prattville will
and so the visitors will have nostands the rest of the season at Prattville.
Stanley Gents. Third down and threehere for the Lions at the thirty
eight of Opelaika. A flag onthe play as alban Agba carries for the
first down down to the thirty yardline, but there is a flag and
(01:48:02):
that's an illegal shift against the Lionsthat will move them back five yards and
we'll replay third down. So thisis now going to bed. Doesn't about
a third and eight coming up?Man, you got any scores far as
tonight, I'm gonna get some.Jason ran out. We had some the
(01:48:23):
technical difficulties at halftime really threw usoff getting all our stats. We do
apologize for that. And the onlystat that is important right now is thirty
eight. I was about to say, and if you're if you're around the
dumpster and open like, you're gonnasee some radio equipment in there when we
leave, because I'm tired of foolingwith some of it. Goach, we're
gonna jumg it in there. Ohgo. You know this digital stuff and
(01:48:47):
you can't work on this no more. It's got like a TV said,
you know, I got one ofthem streaming TV sets, and every time
it goes out, it takes methirty minutes to get it. You just
go get another one. Then thirdand eight here for the Lions, after
the pin from their own forty fromthe open, like a forty two,
pressure comes sacked on the play backat the opal like a forty eight yard
line, And that was a sackby the Bulldogs. Number ninety seven Cody
(01:49:12):
Johnson in there on the sack forthe Bulldogs. Five seven, two hundred
and twenty pound senior. Yeah, one of those seniors. He's the only
only senior on the top on thefront eight for the Dogs. Only seen,
and it doesn't get quite the playin time. He's got the most
big juniors ahead of him. Butboy, he made a statement there on
senior night, Cody Johnson with abig sack. Fourth down, here's punning
(01:49:35):
time for Paxton Ganola and he getsa good role inside the five and it
just got into the insone for atouch back. Boy, that was almost
down at the one, but itwill be a touch back and the Dogs
will have it from their own twentyyard line. As we've got nine at
ten left to play here in thisball game. Now, we're a four
(01:49:57):
seasons Federal Credit Union Sideline Report magEverything working offensively, you don't want to
you don't want to stop, butyou want to run some clock. I
know too, Yeah exactly, AndI think, uh, all right,
going back, just to double checkme which you are talking about, I
think we've been stopped one time andthat was right before the Is that right
before the half man? Yeah, one punch so far. Wow, it's
amazing, great job offensively, heyand like like Das and everything's just clicking
(01:50:21):
the night for the Dogs. Idon't think mac. I can't remember the
last time that we beat these guys. That's bad, can you. I
really don't. I really don't remember. But hey, it's still nine minutes
to go, so let's let's keepgoing. Yeah, first meeting against Prattville
here in Opelika since twenty ten,so it's been a long time since the
(01:50:42):
Lions have been here in Opelaika. It has not been a good trip.
Back backup quarterback for the Dogs.Tyler Johnson chicks in the ball game,
hands off left side and not muchthere. It's gonna be a loss of
two yards all the play. JordanWait's got to carry there. Tyler Johnson
actually quarterback in the JV game earlierthis week and the JV he went to
pratbling one. I met his dadlast week, A real nice guy,
(01:51:06):
and uh, I know he's veryproud of his son. Absolutely. I
know we'd like to see Johnson maybetake it to the air a little bit
here tonight too. We'll see seconddown and twelve two receivers to the left
side singer receiver here to the nearside. Wakes remains the loan back,
and Jon Williams is to carry therenear side, and he's got the sidelines
(01:51:28):
across the forty forty five and finallypushed out of bounds near midfield. They'll
say he got out of bounds atthe forty eight yard line and a good
run there by Javi I Williams twentyeight yards of Lambert transferring storage first down.
We got lots of speed Van.I don't know whether Prattel doesn't have
a whole lot of speed, butI know we got a lot of speed.
(01:51:51):
Jordan Waits does check back in theball game. He got two receivers
here to the right side, Singerreceiver to the left side. Jalen Washington
chicks in the ball game. Igotta give Jalen a shout out. He's
my neighbor in It is a bigbirthday today for Jalen turning sweet sixteen,
so good to see him in theball gaming. Lines out to the left
inside receiver there, high snap, the Johnson got it down. Waits carries
(01:52:12):
inside. Nice spin move Johnson acrossthe forty are Jordan Waits rather and Waits
us down to the forty four yardline. That is gonna be a nice
run eight yards second down in twoupcoming here of that second group in there,
Eric Mason, Michael Cosgriff, RavanteHutchinson, Cavante, Carter, and
David Miller making up that second group. And Jalen got him a new car.
(01:52:38):
He's gonna be giving some rides thatsophomore class. I got a feeling,
coach. You get a new rideand you turn early and early in
before October, you know you're gonnabe the guy giving on the ride.
Right. That's right, two receiversleft Singer receiver to the right side,
Johnson the quarterback for Opelike and nownTyler. Johnson working here in the fourth
quarter, hands it off to Waits. Waits another good run left Side's gonna
be enough for a first down, and he carries it down to the forty
(01:53:00):
one yard line. He's an explosiverunner, isn't he. Well, he
really gets that ball and goes northand south. I talked to coach Speakman
earlier in the week and he said, you know, I really hate it
we didn't give weights some carries inthat central game. And he said he's
got a touch of football this week. Yeah, he get he got some
good vertically six thirty six clock runninghere in the fourth quarter, and hope
(01:53:21):
like a leading thirty eight to sixover Prattville. Here as we play six
thirty to go, Johnson the quarterbackout of the shot gun. Two receivers
right hand office to weights boy holdonto that football. He nearly he nearly
lost the exchange there, and hepicks up a yard down to the forty.
You'd love to see these second groupcome away with a score. You
(01:53:42):
hate to pour it on people, coach, but they you know, they
want to play some football. Hegot six minutes left in the game.
Exactly if you're just playing football, their job to stop you, right,
that's exactly right. Second out ofnine at the Prattvil forty yard line,
two receivers right, single receiver, left side, Johnson gets the stamp,
(01:54:04):
hands it off. Note Johnson pulledit and may have been a mistake there.
As he is going to be broughtdown back around midfield, They're gonna
say Ford progress at the forty five. That'll save him about five more yards.
It's gonna be a loss of fourback to the forty five. Yep,
wrong read on that one live andlearn. The junior quarterback Tyler Johnson's
(01:54:28):
he's six three, one hundred ninetyfive pounds first year with Opelika, coming
over from Auburn, and he's beenout most of the season with a with
a finger injury. Yeah, andcoach speakman, glad to have him back
healthy. You need a needs somebodythat can that can work that backup role.
Two receivers either side here on along third down your third and fifteen,
(01:54:50):
Johnson drops back and wants to thrownear side, picked off. He'll
want to have that one back interceptedby the defense. Say, Parish works
right side and he got him andhe's down the sidelines. One man to
beat and he will take it tothe distance for the Prattvielle touchdown. Through
it in a lot of traffic hereto the near side, and Zay Parrish
picked it off and he returned atfifty five yards for a Prattviell touchdown with
(01:55:14):
four forty four level first touchdown forthe Lions tonight. It comes on a
pick six for the defense. Yeah, I know where you're not happy with,
Dad. We have to make thosecorrections. But that's what you let
those young kids play for. Imean, you know they're gonna make mistakes,
and that's one of those things. You make that throw in a game.
(01:55:35):
You learn a lot from it,more so than at practice. Yes,
sir, Yes, sir, timeout. Hope going to take a
time out here, and we willtake a time out with him. You're
listening to bulldog football Dogs on topthirty eight twelve though Prattville with a point
after attempt. We come back. We're back here, Hope, like a
bulldog football on ninety seven point sevenkicker f in vand Riggs lost side.
(01:55:56):
Coach Spence McCracken. Brattville with apick six here late this ball game,
four forty four to play a thirtyeight twelve score now and the point after
attempt coming here off the leg ofread at Montgomery trying to add one more
point on the board here for theLions, and that extra point attempt up
(01:56:17):
and hit his good and Brattville nowtrails open like a thirty eight to thirteen
head down on the sidelines. Fourseasons. Federal Credit Union Sideline Report,
Mac, what would you like tosee out of the offense next time out
here? Get a good drive hereand run the clock out and see that
was just a I was a toughbreak right there. But you know,
(01:56:38):
what could you do? Yeah,I know, just one of those reads
where pressure was coming that that certainlydidn't help the read. I mean,
Johnson had everybody from Prattville breathing downhis neck and rather than trying to take
the sack there saw a receiver. But Brattville had their first team defense in
there, and senior z Paris, who's played a lot of football there for
(01:57:00):
the Lions, snagged it down andhe got a highlight and what has been
a pretty tough night for the Lions. Four forty four remaining here in this
ballgame, reminder open like a nextweek, will make a long trip down
south to Theodore. That's gonna befine. Yeah, And if we get
to go to the Georgia game thenext day, yeah, that's gonna be
(01:57:24):
a great trip. Hey. I'lltell you what though, Man, I
don't think Theodore's quite as good asthey were last year. I know they
got beat by Baker. If I'mnot mistaken. Max's gonna trying to hit
me up for breakfast, lunch indinner next week, coach, maybe even
a hullaffa house trip on the wayhome back. You're gearing up for that,
(01:57:45):
aren't you. Yeah, well, look, hey, anytime you gotta
go down south, winning makes ita whole lot easier to come back.
That is true end over end kickand it goes into the end zone.
So a good kick there again bythe Lions. So Opelika's I offense will
come back out again. I'll imaginewe'll see another I don't think we're gonna
see another pass throng. I don'tthink you might either. I think we're
(01:58:09):
gonna see all runs stretch out theclock. Meeting out with the offensive coaches
now here on the near sideline, forty four to play thirty eight thirteen.
He is our score and hang onto the football. Yeah, protect that
football at all costs. Well, that's a big boy right there. Number
(01:58:39):
eighty eight for Opelika. Yeah,Julian Pritchard, big tiny end. He
saw him in the spring. Hehas a me's a man and off here
near sign Jordan Waits on the kerryacross the twenty one yard line, and
that'll be a pickup of one andas Jordan and Waits, sophomore carries it.
(01:59:00):
Yeah, coach, if you've seenhim raighty eight. Try it out
there. You don't think he's asophomore, do you? Six two,
two hundred and thirty pound tied inthere. He's big, good looking.
Get the trying him out there alittle bit more, just for intimidation purposes,
don't we, Yes, sir?How tall is he? He is
six three, at least on paperhere he looks at the taller than that.
(01:59:23):
Yes, our six two rather twothirties one. They've got him listed
dead shotting gun snap. The JohnsonWaits runs right up the heart of that
defensive line and stood up for ayard. And it's going to be a
third down and seven coming up herefor the Bulldogs. Winding the clock down
three fifty one and the clock rollinghere in this fourth quarter for Bulldogs Stadium.
(01:59:45):
So yes, reminder next week thelong trip down south. The Dogs
will take on Theodore the following weekthough October six, Auburn here at Bulldog
Stadium. Only two more home gamesto go, and hopefully a playoff game
or two. Theodore bob kits neckthis week over a three hour drive down
south, So make sure can theyget down. We'll be on the radio
here with the call, and ofcourse on the NFHS network. Two white
(02:00:09):
outs left singer receiver here to thenear side. Waits again with the handoff,
and he's got be wrapped up inthe backfield and I kept it running.
I don't think he had much ofa choice here. Luke Gordon,
the linebacker wrapped him up and pulledhim out of bounds. Well, they
say forward progress was in bounds andhe lost a yard. It will be
third and eight under three minutes nowto go, and we'll see Zion Henderson
(02:00:32):
dropped back to foot and the Lionswill try to set up a return with
Joris Thomas around midfield. Enjoyed visitingwith the Prattville radio crew. Sometimes we
don't get to see the visiting oryou know, when the other radio crew
sometimes they're on the opposite end ofthe stadium. Of course, here at
(02:00:53):
o blank of both the both crewshere, so good snap to Henderson out
and Thomas has it and falls downback at the thirty two yard line.
Boy, the momentum just carried himback in the thirty one. That Bred
punted that ball. That's a greatit is Zi and Henderson put a boot
(02:01:14):
into that one. So one thingwe can look forward to on a return
trip to Pravel, coach is maybesome stadium renovations. Looks like the home
side will become the visiting side andthe visiting side is going to be demolished
the old concrete bleachers there and that'swhere they're going to be building the new
home section there at Stanley Jensen Soya. And of course next year Bulldogs stadium
were getting new turf, new jumbo, trying new lighting, so we got
(02:01:35):
that to look forward to. Herea lot of upgrades going around. Yes,
Sir Bravil has it from their ownthirty two yard line. Arrington in
the ball game trying to bounce itout right side at the second teamers in
there for the Bulldogs and keep himin bound. They kept him in bounds.
(02:01:57):
I left secondary second secondary slate.Johavian Williams, excuse me, Trey
Butler getting the stump there. Asenior defensive lineman Coleman Massey's in there,
Leland Bale, Kebean King, JamacusPhillips and Jayden Battle. That's the second
(02:02:17):
group in there for odal eight yardson the ground there by Arrington second down
in two four the Lions a minuteforty two left here in this ball game.
John Gunn stamp right time, rightside, Arrington bounces in for the
first down across the forty five andhe's up to the forty eight yard line.
We got Jordan Stinson, Anthony Birnie, Cody Johnson, and Trey Thomas
(02:02:41):
and Eric. You know, theStintson name is becoming very famous now.
You know Kaylin Stintson as playing atAuburn. We got Jordan ear As another
Stintson. Two is they're not I'mnot sure where he's playing right at midfield
on the kerry there a game oftwo yards, it'll be second down in
eight. Well, I know oneStinson will be playing at brian Any Stadium
(02:03:03):
tomorrow for the Old Miss Rebels. And that's that's right. That's Darell.
That's Jarell Stinson. That's right.I saw his picture, ye, Juddy
showed me his picture today. Jalenis at Duke, Jarrell is at Old
Miss. Will be playing for theRebels tomorrow. And then of course brother
Jordan on the defensive line playing here. That's right, second out of eight
(02:03:24):
at midfield for Prattville. We're underminute now to go in the game,
open like a thirty eight Prattville thirteenhand off right side and I stop over
on the far side for a shortpick up there getting on the stomp.
Braden Stinson. There he is.There's there's a Braden Stinson. I made
a mistake about Jalen Stanson. Isaid Auburn, but he was at Duke
(02:03:45):
and he's the one picked that mallup made that long run back in their
first game. Well, I lovewatching this game. This was an awesome
deal. Third and seven for prattwill play action. Rigdon wants to take
a shot far sideline and that isintercepted by the Bulldogs here near side our
(02:04:09):
far side of the field. That'spicked toll on the play by Colvonte White.
Norvonte White comes up with the interception. No check that at his number
twenty nine, Leland Bell with theinterception. So Leland Bell comes up with
the interception that twenty nine looked likea twenty eighth, and Leland Bell with
the interception, and time expires herein the ball game and the final score
(02:04:33):
Opelika falls or rather defeats pratt bullby final score of thirty eight to thirteen.
Our final score here from Bulldogs stadiumsOur postgame show starts next thirty eight
thirteen Bulldogs a winner tonight over thePrattville Lions. We'll take a quick time
(02:04:56):
out and we'll come back and alittle bit later all will visit with coach
Eric speak down the sidelines. Dogsa winner tonight improved a three and two.
But more importantly than that three andone in region play, you're listening
to Bulldog football here on the kickerwell could be back to Bulldog Stadium.
(02:05:20):
Opal like a thirty eight to thirteenwinner over the Prattville Lions. This game
never end out as as Opelika scoredon just about every offensive possession. Coach,
there was only one punt there inthe first half. Opelika did settle
for a field goal, but otherthan that, scoring on every possession.
Came back out in the second halfand put up seventeen points on Prattville.
(02:05:40):
One was a twenty one to sixgame, it was, and that was
all the points open I can needed. Thirty eight points there tonight, And
this game never really in question, coach. And uh, you know,
we talked in the in the pregame about keys to the game and the
things we did not do against PhoenixCity. We did do tonight. All
(02:06:00):
right, well, hey, coach, all right, Coachman's ready to go.
All right, go down to BillMackey, got you, yes,
sir, he is ready to go. Coach BigMan, you talked about finishing
and boy from last year, theyreally finished it right here. Yeah we
did. I thought we did agreat job in the second half of coming
out and put some points on theboard to kind of make them decide that,
you know, it wasn't gonna beable to come back. So really
proud of the guys of how weplayed that second half. Coach, I
(02:06:25):
mean offensively, I think I thinkvand said, you know, I think
it was only one time we didnot score, just and watching the defense
hold him to field goals. Yougotta be pleased with that. Yeah,
it's a good recipe to win.So we had a bunch of explosive plays
and you know, we got alot of playmakers on offense. And it
starts with number sixteen. He madesome incredible throws that when you watch on
(02:06:45):
film you think, don't do thatand then gets a touchdown. So,
uh, you know, we'll takeout all the effort he gives. He's
such a you know, a goodpositive energy source for us and Jamari had
a great game, and Calvin finallygot a big ruin. So offensive line
play really good and then the defense, like you said, held him to
six points. So really good night. I gratch on the whale. Let
me give you the van and pup. Hey, guys, all right,
(02:07:10):
coach, congratulations on the wind.He kind of like Mack was talking about
the offensive execution tonight. You're ableto get the ball in the hands of
Williams and Waits a lot tonight,Calvin with a big run. But Calvin
really I don't want to say tookthe night all but you're able to rely
on some other guys tonight to kindof give him a little bit breathe and
I know that'll help him down thestretch. Oh yeah, in this league,
you gotta have multiple running backs andguys to give the ball to,
(02:07:31):
and you know, between jav andCalvin and Jordan and then hopefully we'll have
McKay back soon. Mcab simpson actuallydressed out tonight, so we're getting him
close to being able to come backand play. And how to give us
four guys that we can give theball to in the backfield. Yeah,
how big will that be to seehim dress back out and walk back out
and play football after what he's beenthrough too. Yeah, that'll be huge.
Just you know, even dressing outtonight, I could tell it just
(02:07:55):
a you know, a different spiritwithout with all these teammates of his that
just happy for him. Defensively, coach, you knew you were gonna have
to stop the big runner. Hegot some yards here and there, but
overall you wanted to force them intopassing situations. They hit a few passes,
but they were constantly their quarterback tonightwas pressured again by that defensive line
and then of course another big nightby Jamarv and Jenkins and linebackers. Yeah,
(02:08:16):
jam Marvin has been playing really well. And you know, we knew
that guy. He looks guy likeDerek Henry out there, so, uh,
you know, great job by thedefensive line and just limiting him to
his carries, you know, thebig yards, and we knew he'd get
some yards on us, but wejust have to limit the big run,
all right. Coach, Congratulations Ericgreat win. Hey, listen, you
know what I loved about this game, son, I love the way that
(02:08:39):
we hit them. They hit usin the mouth and we hit them right
back. You know, we cameout. I've never seen one of your
teams come out and play like youdid in the first quarter. And as
soon as they made a good play, then we turned around and made a
good play, and it was itwas just like we control the game.
(02:09:01):
And if you go back and look, is the difference from the Phoenix City
game. Your kicking game was alot better, a lot sounder, which
I thought was great, and youmade double the big plays that they made,
and Roman was incredible, as Iwant you to go home and look
at that tape on him throwing thattouchdown pass right in front of you.
(02:09:24):
He threw it off his left footgoing out of bounds and the guy was
hammering there was Yeah, I thinkyou threw it underhanded too, so it
was it was a crazy play, you know, great, Yeah, we
call it. Yeah, it wasn'tgreat technique, but it was great result.
That was definitely the oh don't throwit okay, Oh yeah, great
job. Don't ever do that again, say and listen. You need to
go home and gargle some salt water. Yeah, you sound like Robert Kennedy,
(02:09:48):
you know. Oh yeah, don'tput me on the Republican side.
And he's got a big game tomorrowmorning too. We got the Falcons game.
Be sitting up there questioning the coachingthe there, I gon'll find a
good spot up there and ask whywe keep running up the middle. So
congratulations, thanks go Dogs coach. We appreciate that. Yeah, yeah,
(02:10:09):
it'll be an early morning tomorrow forfor the OPE like a falcon going here
at Bulldog Stadium. We're in thepostgame show and we'll take a quick break.
Dogs a winner tonight here Bulldog Stadium, thirty eight to thirty the Prattville
Lions. We'll take quick break andwe'll come back as we continue here from
Bulldog Stadium. Welcome back here toBulldogs Stadium. Final score again, Dogs
(02:10:37):
a winner tonight over the pratt VilLions. Our final score thirty eight to
thirteen. A complete domination tonight bythis Ope like a Bulldogs. Our postgame

You good to see the folks heretonight at the ballpark. We had
a good crowd here tonight for SeniorNight. Coach McCracken and I met.
It was a happy group of seniorstonight and I know one of those seniors,
(02:10:58):
Matt cracking, where is our where'sour cheerleader? Tonight? I've got
Kendall here right here with me.Yeah, the interview the senior. Yeah,
you got to send her upstairs herejust a minute two after dad talking,
I will where are you at?I lost you? I'm right,
uh thirty five yard line, goingtowards the scoreboard, going towards the scoreboard.
Score board, by the way.Oh wrong, okay, oh there
(02:11:20):
you are. Oh you got acrown? All okay, God, a
crown. All the flowers and Kendall. You've been a cheerleader for Opelia since
seventh grade. That's correct, Yes, that is correct. So you just
tell me about how you feel about, you know, cheering four Opaca that
many years and now it's finally yoursenior year and you got a couple of
games left to go. So how'sit feel to be an open like a
(02:11:41):
bulldog cheerleader. It's absolutely an honorto be an open like a cheerleader,
just cheering on the sidelines. Wehave an amazing student section, great coaches.
Everybody was just fired up today. It was amazing and as always,
God blessing go dogs. Are yougoing something it up right there. Well,
let me just say you got tosend upstairs now it sets on,
(02:12:01):
don't mess the crown up. Letme just say this to everybody that Kendall
I have been told looks like meand and I wanted that is a compliment.
Kendall. I want you. She'sgone now she left, Oh leave,
she gave you famous yea God,bless it. Go Dogs and then
she be You tell her what we'resaying, man, because hey, congratulations
(02:12:26):
her on SATR Night. Thank youvery much. Right, Mack, you're
we'll come back Mack with your getyour thoughts. As we continue with postgame
show, don't go anywhere. Butagain we're continuing here in the postgame show,
we talked with coach Eric Speakman Dogsin Winter to Night thirty eight thirteen,
getting ready for a big road testat Theodore next week. But who
(02:12:46):
continues after this, you're listen toBulldog football here on the Kick Show.
It is presented to you buying Jeffco Trent Funeral Hall and the Dogs a
winner to Night thirty eight thirteen overthe Pratt Bowl lines. Matt McCracken has
our winning quarterback down on the field. I'd be in Roman, Gagliano Mac,
(02:13:07):
Thanksvan Hey, and and let thisthe senior quarterback there you got senior?
Yeah, hey Roman, we're justtalking about down here on the sideline.
Is how y'all came out tonight inthe all offense clicked on all cylinders
and I know, uh as faras the leader of this football team in
(02:13:28):
the in the quarterback, you gottafeel great about that. Yes, absolutely,
the guys did great. You knownot it showed here on Friday night,
but we didn't it go scene.I guess was this week of preparation.
You know, the guys came inafter that loss and really focus on
the little things you had to cleanup and really staate the gay as a
team. So that's really huge forus. It's really proud how we came
together there and the results show.Yah. Well, so how do you
(02:13:52):
go forward? Like, you know, following this? Of course you go
celebrate this victory, but you knowyou got a long road trip coming next
week down in the Theodore. Sohow do you just keep the guys upbeat
and go for the next wh Yes, sir, we we can't get satisfied,
you know, we gotta stay humble. We'll stay hungry. Theodore is
a good team. But I believewe have exactly what we need to go
(02:14:13):
down there and whoop their tails. So you know, the preparation again,
gotta really focus on little things.Really, don't don't change anything, all
right, man, you gotta sendthem upstairs. Here we got we got
a question in the booth for him. Okay, okay, hold on a
second. What's your question? Doyou have a question? Yeah? I
got one, all right, Roman, you got me all right? You
got the mic on there, allright? All right? Roman, take
(02:14:35):
me through your play rolling to thesidelines, you're throwing it back across the
field, And what was going throughyour head when when you threw that ball,
because I gotta know there had tobe a lot of things going through
your head because you had guys breathingdown your neck. You said, I
kind of just go numb out there. But you know, as everything's breaking
down, you know you're looking toget the ball out of your hand and
put it in your playmaker's hands. So, uh, Fat did a great
(02:14:58):
job with the scrambled joe and kindof just found green grass and I just
flipped it out there to them.So what did your coaches tell you when
you came off the field after youthrew that ball. They weren't very happy.
They told me, never do itagain. But hey, but it
weren't. That's right, hey,you know what, it is one of
those that was great job. Theynever do it again. I guess,
Hey, if you keep throwing touchdownswhile you do it, I don't think
(02:15:18):
they'll take you all. Right,Roman, listen, now, you had
a great y'all had a great starttonight. I've never seen a football team
start as good as y'all started. And then, you know what, y'all
would make a play, and thenthey would make a play, and y'all
would come right back and make aplay. It was kind of like you
(02:15:39):
hit them in the mouth, theyhit you back, but then you hit
them back. And I hadn't seenthat from our team really all year.
But you guys really took it tothem tonight. So hey, you're the
leader, you you're the guy.Hey, take them down there and let's
beat Theodore. Let's just take oneof the time. And hey, I'll
(02:16:01):
tell you what your defense. Yourdefense is keeping y'all doing a great job
for y'alloe, you know, notletting they they didn't have but six points
at half. You know they didn'tscore touched fields. Say that's right,
So anyway, you're doing a greatjob. We love you and uh uh,
your mama is the best bookkeeper andher and miss telling me, yes,
(02:16:24):
yes, we appreciate you guys. All right, Roman enjoyed this and
not I appreciate the senior quarterback RomanGangliano with open like the Bulldogs tonight post
game here at Bulldogs Stadium. Finalscore though tonight thirty eight thirteen a dominating
effort by the Bulldogs. Matt mccracking. Any of your final thoughts tonight fin
like, like Pop said, that'sthat's been a long time coming and I
(02:16:46):
can't remember the last time that hashappened. But hey, we've played really
really good football, which is agreat way to take down to Theodore for
for next week. And guys, let's just hey listening to listen to Roman
talk right there for him any day? Oh yeah, heck, yeah,
that's a lad, that's a bornleader right there. And like hey,
Van, uh, we're gonna haveto swap up the driving shifts. Oh
(02:17:09):
yeah, there's no doubt about that. But hey, it's like we said,
though, winning in mobile makes alot easier to come back and it
makes the trip a lot shorter.Yeah, oh yeah, and it's gonna
be a good one next week.Matt, appreciate you as always, and
uh, Coach mccracking to my right, don't forget stay tuned tonight coming up
