(01:07):
Now let's enter the stadium for tonight'scoverage of Opelaca High School football with coach
Spence McCracken Mac McCracken and the voiceof the Bulldogs, I'm Van Riggs.
Well, the Dogs had their heartsripped out just a week ago, and
boys, sometimes it's hard to bounceback from what the Bulldogs went through last
week. Losing to your rivals certainlynever easy, but when you lose a

(01:30):
double digit lead late in the fourthquarter, it thinks it even that much
harder to stomach. But the Dogshad little time to lick their wounds.
The Bulldogs find themselves in a muchsimilar situation last season. Opelika cannot afford
another region laws and this highly competitiveseven eight Region two, Opelika still has
two more top ten teams left onthe schedule. That's a road trip to
Enterprise next Thursday night and the finalgame of the regular season back at Bulldog

(01:53):
Stadium against Dothan a week later. But it starts tonight against one of the
teams at the bottom of the region. That's the Smith's Station Panthers. Panthers
would love to catch this Bulldog teamlooking ahead of those final two games and
start their season off with a winhere In the end of the season,
It's been a struggle for the Panthersall season, and let's hope that continues
tonight. The dogs would love andneed a feel good win, trying to

(02:15):
catch some momentum for this home stretch. Hello, everybody, welcome in the
Panthers Stadium here in Smith's Station,Alabama. First time the Bulldogs have made
the trip over to Smith's Stations attwenty seventeen, and boy, let's hope
for similar results that night. Ofcourse, we're coming up on the ten
year anniversary of the Smith's Station winat Bulldog Stadium. Coach mccracket, I

(02:35):
don't know if you remember that withthat defensive slugfest where Smith's Station edged out
a three to nothing win over thisOpelika Bulldog team. But a much different
team here tonight. These Smith's StationPanthers are They have struggled, to say
the least, and but you know, nothing would make their season more than
the upset the Opalika Bulldogs here ontheir home field tonight, here in Smith's
Station. We're in Panthers Stadium wherewe've had some little misty rain off and

(02:59):
on, and hopefully that's out ofthe picture for the rest of the night.
We'll continue with our pregame show. It's presenting Tea by Frederick Dean Funeral
Home. Quick break and we'll beback here from Panthers Stadium after this time
out. You're listening to Bulldog footballhere on the Kicker. Welcome back to

(03:20):
Panthers Stadium. We're in the pregameshow presented team by Frederick Dean Funeral Hall.
While we got a moment, let'sgo right to the game conditions because
we've been keeping a close watch onthe weather situation throughout the evening and right
now looks like there is a prettydecent little chance of reigin in our area
for tonight. But it's this lightshowers and I think we do have a
little light miss coming down here atPanthers Stadium right now. Temperatures right now,
sitting at sixty six degrees, goingto be a little on the cool

(03:43):
side, certainly the coolest night we'vehad for high school football tonight as we
get you ready for this one betweenthe opal Lakah Bulldogs and the Smith's Station
Panthers coach. Sometimes back in theold days, you would say we would
burn the tape or lose the tapeon a team like this, it hasn't
won a game. They struggled.I wanted the guys to see, you
know, the struggles that this teamhas had. You can't hide that anymore.

(04:03):
They just got to come out andfocus and play football tonight. Two
or three times in my illustrious careerwe went against teams one in six,
one and seven and we got beat. And I thought we played as hard
as we could play, but wegot beat. And that's the way it
goes. You got to be readyevery game. And uh, and I

(04:25):
want to say this, I amjust so glad to be back with you
guys. I feel like I was. I feel like I don't know.
I just had a real strange feelingdown in Spanish fourth. But to all
your granddaddy's out there and parents,Van Riggs taught me something about faith,
family and friends and family comes beforethe football. My granddaughter is a cheerleader

(04:49):
down there, and it was seniornight, and so I preate you.
Van let me off that night.Well most of if I just thought you
were quiet last week, no,I just yeah. I tell you what,
if I'd have been here, I'dhave been quiet. I might have
just got on out of the pressbox near the end of the game.
But I know the Auburn Alabama AuburnO'PLI like games like that. But I'm

(05:11):
gonna tell you something. You saidit a minute ago, Wiggs in the
exact same place win last year, except we're flipping over where we're playing the
games. We gotta win three games. We gotta definitely win two games to
have a shot to get in theplayoffs. No, I don't want to
see opal. I can I goto the playoffs again? Man. I
look forward to practicing on Thanksgiving Dayand and and have playoff football. So

(05:38):
and we got to get down andplay hard and uh and take every play
like it's the last play we'll everplay. Well something Today's dakin. You
know, have a little extra motivationfor if you get in the playoffs,
who knows you're going to see ateam from your region down the road.
You may get a chance to playthat Auburn team again and may get a
chance to you know, make upfor that loss at Bulldog Stadium where the
pregame show its presented to my FrederickDean Funeral Home. Dogs though, can't

(06:00):
worry about next week or the weekafter right now, they got to worry
about the Smiths Station Panthers the teamin front of them tonight and they're on
their home field and wit and Saggyplaying surface here at Panthers Stadium. We'll
hear from coach Eric Speakman as wecontinue with our pregame show after this time
out. Bulldog Football continues after thison ninety seven point seven Kicker FM our
coverage of Open Like a High SchoolFootball. On ninety seven point seven,
Kicker FM continues with a pregame visitwith head coach Eric Speakman, pre sented

(06:25):
by South State Bank. Now withcoach Eric Speakman, hears Fan Riggs Smith's
Station High School the side of tonight'sgame visit with head coach Eric Speakman.
A road game for the Bulldogs andno stranger to the road and the Dogs
tonight, another big afforded region gametonight, Coach. I know, hard
to get back from a tough lossto the rival last week, especially the
way that game went. But how'sthe kids bounced back? We've had a

(06:46):
good week, you know. TheyWe talked earlier the other day about you
know, just I think these kidsare a little more resilient probably than some
of us coaches that you know, they don't hang on to things as long
as we probably do, and maybethat's a good lesson for us to learn.
But Monday they came in. Youknow, they we were on fall
break last week or this week, but kids were not. They football players
were up here on Monday and Tuesdayfrom eight to twelve while everybody else was

(07:10):
on a on a fall break. So kids have put in a lot of
work and hopefully we'll we'll play wellto night over here at Smiths. Yeah,
we talked about it, I knowpost game last week. In a
game like this, you could goback to so many different things that sided
the game, but I know thirddown defense was a big key. They
were really good on third down. That was the you know, probably you
look at all the stats and youknow, it's kind of a weird game

(07:30):
to lose, but third down waswhere the game was was won by Auburn
and lost by us. They weretwelve of twenty one and had one hundred
and ninety yards on third down.So coach ethere J and I talked to
Wednesday night at the Coaches Show byTatt and I'd said maybe maybe we should
have just kept them in you know, first and second down and never let
them get to third down, butyou know that's where they they made some

(07:54):
big plays, and you know thatwas really where the game, you know,
that one extra play. Really onthe last couple of drives, they
had two long third down conversions thatallowed them to move the ball and then
eventually score on fourth down. Yeah, looking at the game, you were
able to hold their passing game incheck most of the night. They did
get some big runs here and therethat caused them to move the ball down

(08:15):
the field a little bit. Defensively, what were they doing they kind of
open things up in the run game. Well, you know a lot of
times we just weren't getting lined upfast enough, and you know, they
weren't doing anything that we had notpracticed, and you know, for some
reason we weren't. You know,we weren't you know, we always talk
about read your keys and all thatstuff. Where our eyes were not good.
We weren't looking at the wrong place, not getting lined up defensively,

(08:35):
and that allowed them to just continuedit, especially in the second half.
You know, first half we playedreally good defensively, but in the second
half, especially the fourth quarter, you know, they had the two touchdowns
and under seven minutes to go aheadat the end with twenty one seconds to
go. So, you know,we've got to get those problems fixed and
get these guys, you know, listening to what the coaches ask them to

(08:56):
do and making sure we're doing that. Big plays for your offense was a
key in that game. Had somebig runs and big passes from Roman.
Yeah, Roman played well, CalvinJavian, you know, offensively, if
you told me we're going to scorethirty points on a really good Auburn defense,
I would say we win. Souh, you know that's probably one
of the more disappointing parts of thatgame. And the result of the game

(09:18):
was, you know that we playedso well offensively other than you know,
you know, we couldn't get afirst down on that last drive of ours
that probably would have put the gameaway. So, uh, we've got
to you know, if we're goingto be in these close games, which
you know probably down the road thesenext three games, there's a possibility of
that, we've got to figure outa way to move the ball late in
the game and make sure that wedon't give it back to the other offense.

(09:39):
Yeah, in the way the sevenA playoffs shake out, you may
have a chance to face this teamagain. Yeah, you know, we
got to take care of our businessthe next three weeks to starting tonight at
Smith's and then going down to Enterprisenext Thursday, and then Doathing at home.
So you look at how how everything'sshaken out right now, it looks
like Doathan Enterprise in Opalaika fighting forthe last two spots, and we all

(10:01):
three play each other in the nextthree weeks. So you got three really
big games coming up, and thatyou know, of course, the main
one is tonight down here at Smith's. Bus head Coach Eric Spetman, we'll
continue our pregame show after this timeout. You're listening to Bulldog football here
on the Kicker. You are listeningto Opelika High School football here on ninety
seven point seven Kicker FM. No, it's time for Coach Spence McCracken's Keys

(10:24):
the Game presented by Glenn Smith,Chevrolet GMC and Ope God get ready to
smile back here at Panthers Stadium.Well, I get ready to smile.
Coach McCracken. What's the keys fortonight? Fan? I'm going to tell
you the game of football has notchanged, and so the keys haven't changed
in that one last week. Ican take that one and they're lost down

(10:46):
at Theodore, and we'll combine thosetogether. And if you want to take
a pencil, you folks listening tothe game, and write these down and
compare them, they should come out. The first thing is to make third
down conversions offensively. I don't carewhether it's third and short, medium or
long. You got to stay awayfrom the third and longs. But we

(11:07):
got to convert third downs. Noturnovers, don't turn the ball over,
and we need to make big playswe hadn't made. If we can make
five or six big plays tonight, want to have a chance to win a
run over ten or a pass overfifteen. We had with no stupid penalties,
and these go for offense and defense. I think in the Theodore game

(11:31):
we had about ninety five yards inpenalties and the Phoenix City game the Central
game. Same thing. Stay awayfrom stupid penalties, and we must run
the ball well and have a quarterbackthat does not make mistakes. And Romandon
really is playing well right now.We need to keep that up. We

(11:52):
need to catch a few more passesand quit dropping them on defense, stop
the other team from running the ball. Theodore rented on us, Auburn rented
on us. We gotta challenge ourkids not to let our opponents run the
football. That's gonna be big, big, big, And we got to
stop their third down conversions. Watchcollege ball, pro ball. If whoever

(12:16):
wins third down usually wins the game. And I say this when we're playing
against a good quarterback, really agood quarterback. And you'll see over the
next three weeks. We gotta pressuregood quarterbacks and defend against average quarterbacks.
And we've let a couple of quarterbacksmake some big plays against us, so

(12:37):
we got to work on that. And finally, my last thought for the
keys of the game is to winthe dead gum game. We need to
win. Listen, last year,I think we lost three in a row
of four in a row. Wegot to win these games, all right,
Well, let's get down for acoin toss coming up. It's brought
to you by Rentals Outdoors locally onhunting, fishing, archery, outdoor store

(12:58):
to take care of all your outdoorssporting needs. It's Rentals Outdoors off Geneva
Street in Opelaika White Hat Letting. Both teams come together and me and Mac.
I believe he wants to talk tohim first. I believe, Yeah,
yeah, we same guy, Okay, same one. Okay, this
is the one official that does notwant to be miked up during the coin
toss. But Captains Roman Gagliano TonightJaMarcus Phillips. Also for the Bulldogs Captain

(13:26):
Tonight number ninety four. That's QuinnEdwards a number four, Jordan Tolbert.
So both teams meeting at midfield rightnow for tonight's coin toss, which again
is brought to you by Rentals Outdoors. Roman looks like he's gained a couple
of inches. He looks like he'sabout six four six' five down there,

(13:46):
Van, All right, let's goin for the coin toss. You
are the visiting team. The Superseven logo is tails. One hundred years
is hiss and hiss, that istales. What do you choose to call?
Let's go tills? He calls one, he calls tails. I'll flip
the coin in the air. IfI drop it on the ground, we
will flip it again. It isheads. You've won the toss. What

(14:11):
you want to do? You wantto receive? Which direction do you want
to kick? You want to kickthat way. You put your all right,
So Smith Stations won the toss. They want the football, so we'll
get you going for football here fromSmith Station. After this timeout our pregame
show presented to you by Frederick DeanFuneral Home. We're back after this time.
Out here on the kicker well, the Panthers take the opening kick off

(14:33):
back. They lead it here sevento nothing as we are just underway,
and our Smith's station will be setto kick it away here kicking from right
to left. We'll see the kickerSparks put an end over in kick returnable.
This is Drew Gagliano here near sideacross the twenty twenty five and Drew
is up close to the twenty sevenyard line, and we'll see ople Lik

(14:54):
and Roman Gaglion on the offense comeout first and ten at five seniors,
five juniors and a sophomore for theDogs tonight. Jordan Talbert at wide receiver,
Tomorrow Ross, Kyle Epperson, ParkerKill Bransdent trayon Tomas front, Blake
Johnson's your aspect, Jamar Miller, you're wide receiver. Roman Gagler in at

(15:16):
quarterback. Calvin Huglee you're running backDrew gaglen Or and Brody Jones outside.
All right, Gagilee, I gothigh. Fens will start from their own
twenty eight yard line here on thefirst down and at ten, ganglying,
I know, gets a snap handoff to Calvin trying to bounce it outside
to the near side, and he'sacross the thirty up to the thirty two

(15:39):
yard line. That play will begood or close to four yards by Calvin.
First quarter Brondy by Ellen M pawnand Gun, your go to stop
for great reliable guns, handguns, shotguns, rifles and more. Ellen m.
Pont and Gun. Open Monday throughSaturday, nine am to six pm.
Twenty twenty. FI t Run Avenuein Opelaika. Good blocking by Brandon
Fears at Traymont Thomas. That sweepplay to the right side. All right,

(16:03):
they'll say the thirty one, sothis will be second down and seven
for the Dogs. Play action throwcatch me by Jamari Miller far side of
the field, across midfield, outof bounds near the forty six yard line,
and I think he's going to getthe forty three man. That is
a big gainer there down to theforty three of Smith's station a twenty six

(16:23):
yard pickup and that is a Lamberttransfer and stores first down. There is
a flag on the play. Ithink it's a late head on Smith's station
head. I don't know. Ican't I can't tell from it was over
there on the on the side closestto the Smith Station players. So we'll
have to wait and see as theysort things out here. It was a

(16:44):
late flag. Mac McCracken, anyindication on what that may be. I
think you're right, Dad. Ithink he kind of when he tackled him,
kind of threw him out of bounds. Thing is over there. I'm
thinking that's what it is too.Yeah, some of their some of their
guys and a couple of our coachand everything seem to think it's going to
be against them, all right.Sideline Reports Tonight brought to you by Four
Seasons Federal Credit Union, and weare coming to you from the Orthopeda Clinic

(17:08):
Broadcast pavilion here at Smith's Station onthe visiting side over here with the opal
likea crown Tonight, always love itand we can broadcasts on the road with
the visiting fans. I don't knowwhy the officials are taking so much time.
Yeah, there are a lot ofconversation going on this one. Yet

(17:29):
to get any indication here from thewhite hat. Seven nothing is our score
right now. Smiths Station takes theopening kickoff back for a touchdown a ninety
eight yard return by Aubrey Wemberley, and here comes the white hat over for
the call a dead ball personal fouland is against Smith's Station and a sportsmanlike

(17:49):
conduct against Opelika. So they offsetso off setting penalties there, so big
gainer for the Bulldogs. They'll marketactually down to the forty yard line,
so it's first and ten ople likeat the Panther forty yard line, it'll
be first and ten. Dogs quicklyon the move offensively after giving up that

(18:12):
kickoff or Turnismiths Station to start thisgame. Panthers leading here seven to nothing
early eleven thirteen remaining here in thisopening quarter of play brought to you by
L and M. Finding him Guntrips left side of the field, short
side of the field. Rody Joneshere by himself over on the wife side
of the field to the right.Roman gets a snap quickly hands it to

(18:33):
this is Javon Williams and he's cutdown at the forty yard a flag hold.
I got a hold of the penalty. Boy, we can't get these
penalties. Goodness gracious. No gainon the play, and it looks like
there will be a penalty a hold. It is a hold against Opelaika,
so that will be a ten yardpenalty from the spot of the foul.

(18:53):
And he's gonna move the Bulldogs backto midfield. That's an outside stretch played
with Hugh Glee. Uh. Wedidn't block anybody, and they came up
and made a real fine tackle andwe hailed first and twenty. Now for
the Bulldogs at midfield, trailing hereto Smith station. Seven nothing if you're
just joining us. Panther scoring rightout of the gate on an opening kickoff

(19:14):
return for a touchdown. They leadit here seven nothing, eleven oh seven
to play here in the opening quarter. Two wide outs here to the near
side. Nobody left for Opalaiko. It's the snap hands in the backfield.
Calvin Hugley trying to turn it upfield forty five, cut down at the
forty four, so Calvin picking upsix yards and there will still be a

(19:40):
second and fourteen coming up here forthe Bulldogs at the Smith station forty four
where were throwing one path so farfor twenty six yards. The Smith's station
team winless, but they did I'moff their best performance. Kee's to go
against Benjamin Russell little loss thirty fourto twenty three. Had an off week

(20:02):
last week, so you know they'rehungry. Second and fourteen play action.
Roman drops back backside pressure, comingwide open though and off the fingertips of
the intended wide receiver, and thatwas intended for number thirty. Then swing
r actually Blake Johnson rather Blake Johnsonto the back, slipped him out on
a little wheel route but could nothang on just over the outstretched arms.

(20:26):
Third down in fourteen. We'll seeif the Panther's defense can hold here,
as they're playing with a little extramotivation here. After the after the special
team scored right out of the gate, they lead at seven nothing, Dogs
will come out with trips receivers tothe left side again Brody Jones by himself
to the right tailback is Javian Williams. Roman out of the shotgut on third

(20:49):
down, quick throw over to thefar side of the field is Jamari Miller
and Miller is down close to thethirty six yard line. It looks like
they will give him the third. There is a penalty on the play.
Nine yard pickup tackle on the playover there by the Panthers, a pack

(21:11):
of Smith's station of Panthers Ethan Schufford. The linebacker comes over, makes the
stop. We'll wait and see. It's a penalty against the Bulldogs of Opalaika.
Here another holding penalty, Mack anotherhold? Was that a holding penalty?
Yeah? Holding back? Judge throughit about one hundred yards from the

(21:32):
ball. All right, God macguess thirty yards and penalties already. We
don't have win hardly into the game. It'll be third and fifteen here for
the Bulldogs at the forty five ofSmith's station. After that penalty, gagli
I know two receivers either side.Roman drops back, throws across the middle
and it is caught by Miller.Spends his way for the first down down

(21:56):
to the twenty six yard line. That's a laborate transferring storage first down,
nineteen yard pickup Ethan Schufford on thestop for the Panthers. But a big
first down, and the Bulldogs lineup to go quick trips receivers here to
the right side on this first downhand off to Javan Williams, who tries
to bounce it outside. He slipped. Another flag comes in at the twenty

(22:17):
five yard line. I'm not sureif this is a hold or not.
Could be another hold against Oplaika herey, that's what I'm saying. I
think it's another holding penalty. That'sforty yards now in penalties. Boy.
At the twenty five yard line iswhere that lag was thrown. So this
is going to be back around thethirty five yard line. That's where it

(22:37):
is. Boy, The Bulldogs areshooting themselves in the foot here on this
opening drive. They trail Smith's stationseven enough in Panthers take the opening kick
off back for a touchdown. Wegot nine thirty nine remaining here in the
first quarter. This is the firstdrive of the game offensively here for Palaiko.
Two receivers to the right, Singerreceiver to the left. After that

(22:59):
holding penalty, it'll be first andtwenty at the Smith station thirty five.
Dagliano gets the stamp hand office toWilliams. Slip the tackle, statele on
speed aside the thirty inside the twentyfive twenty and Williams all the way down
close to the sixteen yard line beforeClayton McMillan makes the stop for that play.
Good for nineteen yards and it's goingto be very close to a first

(23:21):
down, second down in one.Actually, good job out of way to
run the football dogs line up togo fast here. They'll hand it off
quickly to Williams. He's gotten thefirst down. He slips inside the fifteen
and he is down close to thethirteen yard line. Lance Peterson on the
stop for the Panthers, good job. This will not be first in goal.

(23:42):
It will be really close to it, though at the twelve yard line
they can get a first down insidethe two. They were lost down at
the twelve yard line of Smith's stationhere in the first quarter. Eight forty
nine remaining here in this first quarterof a PUL we've had nine snaps,
they've had none, and they're aheadseven and nothing. As what as you

(24:06):
run that open kickoff back? Twowhite outs right and the handoff is to
Williams cutting it left sides, spinshis way inside the ten and it's going
to be tough to see where theymarked to Ethan Schufford, the linebacker comes
over and gets Williams for a twoyard pickup just down to the ten yard
line, so this will be seconddown and six at the ten. Good

(24:33):
blocking up front, Ross Efferson,Chris Fears and Thomas a Job to White
outs right, single receiver left.Williams still remains the loan back to Williams
to Gagliano's right and play action.Roman rolls to his right wide open his
Miller and bounced off of him anda hit and that is a blind side.
That's a defenseless player. That's goingto be a penalty against the Panthers.

(24:55):
Yeah, you're right, boy. They hit Williams and he was defenseless,
and that is going to be apersonal fowl. You know, he
could have Roman could have run thatin for a touchdown. Dam you know
he chose he could have right MillerWatte open there and Miller just bounced off
his shoulder pads. But Cam Jacksondid an unnecessary hit there on Miller and
that's going to be a personal fouland we'll wait for the official call here

(25:19):
from the white hat. And itwas just one of those unnecessary hits.
He had dropped the ball, Soit is a personal foul against miss Station,
no question on that one. It'smiss station. Folks, not gonna
like that one, but that wasthe right call. Heavy set package now
coming in a half the distance tothe gold penalty moves it inside the five,

(25:41):
so we'll see the wildcat look comein here with Calvin Hugh Lee,
Amari Smiley and also Blick Johnson thebig eight s pack. Actually this is
wait to will run it here.Jordan Wakes the quarterback on this one.
Out of the shotgun from the fouryard line. Waits runs right side.
He's inside the five and the Pantherspushed that pile right at the four.
He gets a late push from thebulldofs me have forward progress around the three.

(26:04):
But it looks like it'll be andmark third down. I guess it
was not a that wasn't the firstdown, I guess I guess not.

(26:25):
Okay, there's a third down conversion, So be third and one down at
the four yard line. We gotseven to nineteen remaining here in this first
quarter. Smiths station leads at sevenand hurry six seconds. The Anthers leaded
seventh and they took the opening calfback. Bulldogs trying to answer here.
Third and one at the four, handoff to Williams Williams is, I'll be

(26:48):
right at the first down marker. He needed the right at the three.
They're marking it short fourth down.Yeah, he didn't. He didn't even
he didn't get back to the lineof scrimmage. I don't think Davis comes
over makes us for the Panthers,it will be no game. Fourth and
one, boy, I know coachSpeakman going to challenges unit here to try
to pick this first down up becausebut are going east and west. Williams

(27:14):
remains left to g Niver's left, single receiver right, Gangliano, hard count,
and they got the Panthers to jump. That's going to be a first
down. So they get a firstdown the easy way on a hard count.
At least we believe we have notseen the official call from the white
head yet. That's after the distanceof the goal. Yeah, off sides
against Smith's station, so half thedistance will be enough for the first down,

(27:38):
and that will move the ball insidethe two yard line. It will
be first in goal right at thetwo. Williams again, it remains the
tailback to the left of Gangliano here, first in goal for the Bulldogs trips
receivers to the left, single receiverright Gangliano gets the snap, hands into
Williams where they blew this one dead. There's a flag from the far side

(28:03):
judge on the line. This maybe movement against the Bulldogs. No off
sides against miss station, so somebodylined up offside. That'll move the ball
about half a foot down to theone yard line. Dogs try to tie

(28:23):
this game up. They trail sevennothing as the Panthers took the opening kickoff
back for a touchdown. Roman quicklygoes under center and now gets the snap,
goes straight ahead for the Bulldog touchdown. But there is a flag on
the play, and my goodness, what in the running back ran toward the
line of scrimmage before the ball wassnapped. That's five yards. God,

(28:47):
they we make it things so hard. Yeah, that's a procedure penalty against
Opalaika. So that will move thingsback. So what was a first end
goal from the one will be backeddown now to the six yard line.
Hellopal life certainly shooting themselves in thefoot. A number of penalties on this

(29:10):
opening drive. First offensive series herefor this Bulldog offense, and has not
been easy trying to cash in pointshere from the six yard line, first
and goal for the Bulldogs trips receiversleft singer receiver right. It is Jordan
Waite's a tailbag. Robin drops backfade past corner of the end zoning's he
got Miller over shot him in theback corner of the end zone. It's
incomplete on the second and goal fromthe sixth. Got a feeling the night,

(29:37):
coach, pass game may be alittle challenged here in this wet conditions
out here. It's still that mistyelement tonight and a very wet playing surface
tonight. But Dogs have really shotthemselves in the foot the boy, you
want to come away with some pointshere, five point fifty five remaining first

(29:57):
quarter seven nothing, Smiths station andleading and the Dogs trying to answer from
the six skin it and golded dolls. Two receivers to the left, Singer
receiver right hand off his right side, Weights cuts it at the five.
Weights hurtles his way into the endzone and he's in there for the Bulldog
touchdown. Boy, it wasn't easy. That drive took a lot of time

(30:18):
and took a lot of patience fromthis Bulldog outfense, and by the Dogs
had amber of penalties on that drive. Coach, I don't know how many
three holing penalties I believe on thatdrive forty five yards and penalties and bar
o block and thirty five yards andpenalty for Smith's Station did not result,
did not certainly go the way youdraw it up, but the results were

(30:41):
a touchdown six seven. Here's thepoint. After a tempt Will Carrol has
it up in good We are tiedup at seven with five forty nine remaining
here in our opening quarter of blockStore and drive Power by our friends that
overla like co Coore Services Hometown, the people working for you on at ople
of Power dot Com. Seven toseven, all tied up. We're back
from Panther Stadium after this. Hereon the kicker short kick to the Panther's

(31:06):
near side and covered this time bythe Bulldogs at the twenty eight yard line
is where the Semethstishan Panthers will startthings out. All time up will be
the first time we see the offensethe Smith's Station come out, and it
will be with five forty three remainingin our first quarter, which again brought
to you by L and M.Pond and Gun, your go go to's
out for a great relibil gun shotguns, handguns rifle fulls the accessories you all.

(31:26):
That's Llen m pod and unopened MondaySaturday, nine am to six pm
at twenty twenty Fox Revenue in Opolaika. Fore the Dogs uh seven juniors.
I'll get you the names in justa second, but we gotta get stops
against the run. Van Anthers willstart for their own twenty eight yard line,

(31:47):
and they'll start with Anthony Herring workingthe quarterback number sixteen. He gets
the snap a sweet play here tothe near side to Brooks, and Brooks
has hit pretty hard there by JacksonKilcrease. That's and Brooks a senior running
back, and he carries for sixyards up to the thirty six yard line.

(32:07):
Alan Jackson, Jakai like Foot,Malik Autree, and Emar Smiley up
front. They're all juniors. Therest of the group are seniors, with
the exception I'll give you the namein a minute. From the thirty six
yard line, second down in fourend, the Panthers moved early left tackle

(32:29):
Nea mile wet I had an earlyjump there for the Panthers, So that'll
bea come up in five yards andthat will make the second down a little
bit harder. Here for the Panther. There is a takeaway most of the
yard as they made on first down. This will be a second down and
eight coming up here for the Panthers. Now from there on a thirty one
yard line. Jamarvey and Jenkins andJackson Kilchris the linebackers, JaMarcus Phillips and

(32:51):
court Ingram your corners. Tyrese Pittsand colb Ante white are your safeties and
Carson Mosses your free safety. Twowhite outs either side for the Panthers.
Out of the shot gun is hearinghearing will play action? No, he
won't. He goes down. Heis sacked on the play back at the
twenty four yard line and sacked onthe play by Jamarvi and Jenkins of Opalaika

(33:15):
number fifteen. The linebackers shot thegap and got in there and get him
a sacked. Great played by chickensAh super play senior number fifteen. Panthers
line up and they'll go back quicklyhere on third and law third and fourteen,
rolling to the right side. Quarterbackhearing, now he'll take off and
run for it before he's cutting downat the thirty yard line, coming up

(33:37):
at bank of the stout Carson Mosscomes up from the strong safety spot.
It's fourth down and nine and thePanthers will be forced to pint it away.
So good series there, good jobby the Dogs. We need to
take charge of this game right here. We almost had twelve men on the

(33:59):
feet right there on that UH onthat play. Connor Thomason to punt it
away for the Panthers. He standsat the sixteen low snap, got it
up though, and puts a realgood high hanging boot into this one fair
catch called for the thirty five yardline by Opelikahs Jamari Miller. And got
to give a shout out to myold broadcast partner, Henry Vaughan under the

(34:20):
weather tonight, Coach McCracken. Henryjoined us last year of the booth that
this when Smith's Station traveled over toOpelika. Henry not feeling good tonight,
but he yeah, Henry and hisUH and his wife Marie, they're listening
to us tonight here in Smith's Station. Coach Vaughan, we hope you're doing
well and wish you the best, and certainly missed you here tonight at Panthers
Stadium. And I know you're excitedabout that kickoff return by the Panthers,
But we got to get some Bulldogsput some touchdowns up. Tonight line of

(34:45):
scrimmage the thirty five yard line forthe pant For the Bulldogs, two receivers
either side, Gangliano will go outof the shotgun. Here on the first
down, Roman drops back quick throwtip boy that was nearly intercepted. Cutting
across was Ethan Shufford, the linebacker, and he nearly jumped in front of

(35:07):
Drew Gagliano and picked that one off. He would have had six too,
Yes, he would have. BuddyCody Ritchie listened in tonight also coach Cody
Cody. Cody said he wanted toshout out tonight and Cody, you're going
good Cody, one of the biggestBulldog fans and one of the longest running

(35:28):
scoreboard show callers in the area.Yes, Sir, trips to the right
side, Singer receiver to the leftside. Second and ten here for the
Dogs again from their own thirty fiveyard line. Gagliano gets the snap hands
of the Williams left side. Williamshad a man there, nice spin move,
but not much there. Again, closed up quickly as Williams carry's into
thirty six. Emory disks that misto end won't let him out, and

(35:52):
it'll be third down and nine comingup here for the Bulldogs and Bald just
across the thirty five a thirty sixyard line. We gotta do better than
this, fan. Yeah, ithas been a sloppy start. Tie game
right now, seven to seven, three ten remaining here in the first quarter.
Hey Panther kickoff return for a touchdownon the first play of the game.

(36:13):
They're points trips to the right,Cigare receiver left. Roven wants to
throw a screen pass out to Waits. Waits near side cuts it at the
forty and there's another flag thrown. And I'm not sure. This looks like
a hold against Opelika again. Andthat was right in front of coach speakman,
so I think he knows the guiltyparty here. It's a hold against

(36:36):
Opelaika. It's going to back themup, ay my back. I know
coach has got to be very frustrated. It's been a very sloppy start,
but a tie ball game right now, Yeah, it has been. We've
I think that's our fifth holding penalty, I believe, if I'm right fifty
five yards and penalties already. Knowthey're frustrated right now, but like I

(36:58):
said, man, it's I meanit. We know, we know we
can stop them defensively, we knowwe can move the football. We just
kind of, like you know Dadsaid earlier, just don't know, stupid
penalties. So we got to racethese penalties and get out of If this
was against Smith's station, yeah,I guess so. So this penalty was
against miss station. So it started. They declined it. They declined.
I was about to say, okay, all right, okay, so it

(37:23):
is fourth down and now Roman willdrop back to punt. Yeah, I
would think they would have declined it, but you know, we need the
snapper. That is a key thinghere. As Jackson Kilcrest comes in bind
a scrimmage will be the forty twoyard line, and a stamp goes to
Roman a few steps here near side, puts a boot into this one.
Nobody there for the Panthers, andit takes a little bit of a panther

(37:45):
bounce out of bounds around the thirtythree yard line. So that's where Smith
Station will start first and ten tiedup right now, seven to twenty two
remaining here in this first quarter ofplay and right now, Smith Station's first
offensive series did not go very well. Their score came on the opening kickoff
of the game, and that wasa nice one by Aubrey Wimberley who brought

(38:06):
it back ninety eight yards. Afterthat, the Bulldogs of opal I could
put together a nice drive that waswell, not picture perfect, but it
came away with seven. Yeah.Well we held them good first time.
Let's see if we can do itagain. Panthers from their on thirty three
yard line here on a first down, they should bring in Brody Dixon now

(38:29):
to run the quarterback position. Twobacks of the backfield. It's going to
be an option to play Dixon straightahead, but he has wrapped up quickly
there. I don't think he gotanything on that. I don't think he
did either. Good job. They'retrying to run the RPO right there,
run pass option and quarterback did nothave the run and he did pull it

(38:49):
quick enough and about three of themhitting dam Thomas now is wearing number ninety
and was in there on that stop. Look for a throw here probably second
yep, second down in ten herefor the Panthers. Dixon out of the
shot and gun. He'll move bothof the backs out of the backfield.
So now three or to the right, two to the left, five wide
look here, and a quick thrownear side and off the hands of his

(39:13):
intended receiver. And that was intendedfor number three, and that is Quinton
Brooks. That's their first pass, and this to be the first third down,
a second third down conversion to theawful one right now, all right,
third and ten here for the Panthersas we wind down towards the end
of the first quarter, one thirtynine remaining here at Panthers Stadium, seven

(39:34):
to seven Hall game three receivers tothe right receiver here to the near side
and dropping back. Statue of liberty. Play read nicely by the Bulldogs.
But a nice shifty run by thetailback, and that was number three Quinton
Brooks. They ran the statue ofliberty and Javarvin Jenkins was there. Hopelika

(39:55):
did a nice job to at leastnot give up the big play. That
was some pretty good moves by Brookstoo. I think they're gonna go for
this. I think they are too. It's fourth down to three and the
Panthers hurry to the line of scrimmage. They got to get a player off
field though, and a light upheavy set to the right side, one
receiver either side. Dick is tryingto get off. Yeah, I think

(40:15):
he's trying to get a hard counthere. He looks to the signs,
trying to get his play in.Dixit quarterback now changing his signs down to
five, down to four on theplague lock. And they moved left side
of the right side of the line, moved early there and I leave it's
gonna be a procedure penalty. You'reright, or we got to time out.

(40:37):
Oh, we had to time outbefore that. It's miss station ed
burned on a timeout, So stepaside and take a time out as well.
Just four seconds left in our firstquarter, game, tied at seven.
You're listening to bulldog football here allninety seven point seven careft mll the
Panthers will I'll like to fund itat that time out conversation sation. Forty

(41:00):
nine seconds left here in our firstquarter of play, tight at seven,
and Connor Thomas and the punter standsat around his twenty six yard line for
a second punt of the first quarter, and another high knuckleballing kick that Jamari
Miller will let roll out of boundsand should be close to the thirty yard

(41:20):
line. I think the twenty nineso good. Good field position here for
Roman and we got to fly onthe play on the far side of the
field here. This was my blindside hit or those usually are on the
defense. The team catching the ball. They're going over talking to the smith's
station coaches. So I think thisis going to be a u is after

(41:43):
the punt, so there's no waythey get a first down. No,
it's going to be. But thisis a fifteen yard buildy can really push
open like a back here. Let'swait and see what the white hen has
to say. But hold hold godoyon a very unnecessary too on a punt
return that wasn't even returned. Hey, Mac, we got sixty five yards

(42:06):
and penalties in the first quarter.Yeah that ain't good. I don't,
I don't. I don't know howyou get a holding penalty all the way
across the field and the ball isshanking. I know I know where it
would get. Yeah, that's kindof one of those unnecessary ones. But
he is going to push the Bulldogsback inside the twenty yard line down to
around the nineteen nineteen yard line. The line of scrimmage. Roman out of

(42:35):
the shot gun, two receivers left, single receiver here to the near side,
and Roman gets the snap, handsinto Williams left side. Williams at
the twenty and brought down to thetwenty five yard line. Good run there,
close to six yards. As wewind down to thirty six seconds left,
Kylan Pace on the stop for theSmith's station. Panthers twenty seven seconds

(42:59):
in the run here in this firstquarter, tied at seven here at Panther
Stadium. Bulldogs with the football. This will be right at the twenty five
yard line. This will be akind of second down and four here for
the Bulldogs. Play action. Romanwants to throw an overshot Jordan Tolbert that
was nearly intercepted. Boy, itwasn't even close. It Rouman a little

(43:21):
too much air under that one.It STIPs to clock with six point nine
seconds left, and it's going tobe a third down coming up here for
the Bulldogs. Now third and four. Yeah, we're three of seven throwing
the ball. Got a little betterthan that, but this is a big
first down right here, now sureis yeah? Oh, but I like

(43:42):
a really many would think would haverolled out here tonight and have no trouble.
But this is a motivated Smithstation teamhere tonight. They really played good
this first quarter. Gave up theone long drive and now trying to get
the Bulldogs off the field here onthird down, the offense at least third
down and four, Roman gets thestamp, hands it straight up the middle

(44:04):
and up close to the twenty eightyard line. I you're right at the
first down Mark or Davis on thestamp for the Panthers, and that was
actually Jordan Waits on the carry. And that'll be the end of the first
quarter. We'll wait and see thoughthat's close. We're gonna say our fourth
down. It's right at the sticksay they say fourth down. But we'll
find out when we start in thesecond quarter of play. Our first quarter

(44:25):
brought to you by Ellen M.Pond and Gun. Go to Tandguffels as
well as all the accessories. That'sEllen M. Pawn and Gun. Monday
through Saturday, nine am to sixpm, twenty twenty Fox Run Avenue in
Opalk. Listen to the Bulldog footballhere on This is Joseph Dean with Frederick

(45:06):
five for six sixty seven our websiteFrederick Dean dot com. Well, fourth
down decision time for the Bulldogs, and coach Pikman wastes no time. He
sends Roman Gangliano out there to puntit away, and you're on your own
twenty eight yard line. You certainlydon't want to give the Panthers any more

(45:30):
momentum here tied right now seven aswe start the second quarter, It's brought
to you by Auburn Premiere Air.Auburn Premiere Air all your h VAC maintenance
repairs and replacements. At seven fouroh thirty forty eight, Roman to his
right puts a boot into this onethat takes a big hope alike a role
inside the twenty five and all theway down close to the twenty yard line.
The Smiths station return man there,Ethan Schuffer, didn't want any part

(45:53):
of that one on wet night, and I can't say I'd blame him.
Well is this we're here see houstonscyoutroaming the sidelinds. Houston's been roundered the
war the past couple of weeks, and uh, Houston Rescott one of our
ball boys that is a BAM's soncoach down there on the field and he
had he boy he was he wasill for a while last week and uh

(46:14):
spent some time in the hospital.Good to see him back roaming the sidelines
tonight and hopefully playing on Saturday Morningfootball tomorrow. Yeah, I saw Speakman's
boy looked like speedy Gun's eyelands theretwo weeks ago. Here's a toss play
left side, far side of thefield, and that was defended nicely as
Marvin and Jenkins comes up, putsthe hit on Quinton Brooks and I'm not
sure if he picked up a yardon the play, maybe a yard if

(46:37):
that. Yeah, you know Stanningaway here in the second quarter, we
are tight. It's set between overlike ce station anth score on the cat
line of scrimmage here the twenty one. I just picked up a yard at
there's four and hearing out of theshot and gun and checked that that's Brooks

(46:58):
and the Wildcat running and letting upthan there good defense thereby books Bill in
company in there on that stuff.Third and about eight, I'm gonna got
anything on that. You kind oflightfoot also helping over there. It's gonna
be third down, and ain't gonnasay third and nine. They're old for

(47:20):
two on third down conversions. Rightnow. It's a third and long.
We know this one from the farside of the field from our view here
on the visiting stands from that nearhashmark for the smith station sidelines, hairing
out of the shot and everybody moved, Yeah, everybody moved with the Panthers
on that one. That will bea five yard penalty. That's four procedure

(47:40):
penalties on them and who older andpenalties. So this will be a third
and long. They're gonna be closeto a third and thirteen for the Panthers.

(48:04):
I mean inside the twenty round. The eighteen yard line is the line
of scrimmage here, heavy set packageon the line of scrimmage play action wants
to throw deep shot down field cultat the forty yard line, a zip
throw to Aubrey Wimberly from any heiringthe defense. There is a flag though
on the play, a hold againstSmith's Stations. Boy, if you're a

(48:28):
Panther fan, and that's got tocrush you the way this season's gone.
You hit a big pass play likethat and you get called for a hold
and I'm sure it was there.Yeah, but I'm not in shock.
But you don't. You don't verymuch see those on the road, it
specially over here in Phoenix City.Yeah, well Smith's Station. Don't get
them confused with Phoenix City. Boy, that's all these Panther fans will come

(48:52):
over. Coach, they'll have you, they'll have you out. That might
kick us out on that one. That's a great throwing catch though. That
was a great thread. Anthony Herring'snot the quarterback that typically passes. He's
only two for six on the seasoncoming into tonight. If the stats were
an accurate online, they might chunkit again. Well, they're gonna go

(49:14):
wildcat now. With Quinton Brooks thetailback running the quarterback position, he gets
the handoff and now he'll hand itto Herring, who goes nowhere. He
is leveled in the backfield. Isay, the ball popped out. Dogs
got it? Ball popped out andthe Dogs come up with it. A
big hit by that defensive line, and I try to see if Marvin Jenkins

(49:37):
was the one that with the football. It was hard to see from our
advantage. Boy, who got thathit? Man? Now let's go sidelines.
Mag what you got? And Idon't think Jenkins got it though.
I think you're right. I gotthe hit. But yeah, line of
scrimmage is hard to see too. It's inside the fire. Look look at
look at Speakeman, Look at littleSpeakeman. Ay I like him? Man,

(49:59):
Yes, sir, he'd be Itail back if he's a little older.
Well he's our quarterback. Is heyour quarterback on Saturday? Yes,
yes, sir, grippin speakman asour quarterback. Yeah, Hey, we
got eye for the game, coach. We know what we're doing over here.
Inside the five yard line, firstand ten for the Bulldogs. Wakes

(50:19):
gets it right side. He's inthe end zone as he spins around at
the one, Yes, sir, touchdown. I was waiting for the call
he was there. Jordan Wakes forthe touchdown. That's his second touchdown of
the night. Wait scored the firstone for the Dogs and he gets the
second one in with two ten andtwenty two remaining here in this second quarter
of play. Well, you gotto make a team pay for mistakes,

(50:44):
coach, and that one was agood defensive play. Come back, great,
great bounce back. How about thattwo touchdowns? Jordan Wakes had one
touchdown coming into tonight, He's gottwo tonight. Will Carroll for the point
after will we stopped asials blow thisone dead from the south from the line,
got a penalty. I think thisis going to be maybe off sides

(51:05):
against Smiths Station. Well they'll declinethat. Then they're talking to coach Speakman,
so we'll wait and see what theofficial call is. I think coach
Speakman was nodding his head. Maybeit was just understanding what the penbley was
here. I'm not sure. JordanWaits now is only a tenth grader or
two Coke, that's right. Himand Blake Johnson are the two tenth graders.

(51:29):
All the rest are seniors and juniors. So it was against Smiths Station.
Oh god, Well, why don'twe just decline it? They're having
a can you not decline that andtake the points? I think they blew
it dead though they blew the whistle. Yeah, yeah, they blew it

(51:51):
dead before. So okay, whateverit was was, the play was dead.
Ten twenty two left in the secondquarter. Thirteen seven are score and
Will Carroll trying to put the pointafter up through the uprights here, got
down, hold good and bore knuckleballkicked through the uprights. It's killed scoring
driving power by friend like a powerservices hometown, people working for you online

(52:15):
at a lot like dot com.I'm fourty seven over the station. Ten
twenty two play here in the secondquarter. You're listening to bulldog football here
on the kidder and a short kithere to near side of the field of

(52:37):
the space and Panthers will have somepretty good field position. Got better on
our kickoff. Fan wiz. Nowthat's another hard line starting, I said,
Marti defense right now? Is it? They have? I call you
did a light and they have thirtyyard rusher. That's pretty good. Nineteen

(52:58):
remaining here in this first half,as the station will come out. One
of scrimmage is the thirty seven yardline. And hereon ring all right.
Actually Brody Dixon at quarterback and handoff in the near side, good hole
here by the tailback Quinton Brooks, and he's got up close to midfield,
close to it's and a Smith stationfirst down court Ingram comes in on the

(53:22):
stop for the Bulldog Anthers. They'regonna mark them at the forty night all
right, com cracking, but Mayormistening south the Phoenix, so you show
there. I'm telling us, okay, yeah, I just coach's coming out.

(53:43):
That's right now. He's he's listening. I appreciate Mayor listening tonight in
night hand off the midfield out ofthe forty eight yard line of Opulaka.
Quinton Brooks on the carry for thePanthers, and they stopped there by maleek,
I'll watch you number ninety nine alsoin there on the stop. That's
you kind of like footy that toomuch up front? Now were given four

(54:06):
yards at the time up started offbetter than now we got to stop that
run. Yeah, down to thethey don't run a lot of plays,
but they're they're don't have an officeof line and you can tell not real
big from the forty eight over lot. It'll be sticking down. He's seven
two or seas left, see ridof the right sne Dixon gets the handoff

(54:28):
fall on the ground again and boy, I think the Panthers just came up
with it. That was a Reidoption play. Dixon. He trying it
into Jalen Dibbs's hands and it almostalmost went to the Dogs. The loss
back to the forty nine yard lines. They're gonna lose three yards thirty ten.

(54:49):
Malik Autry in there on that headfor the Bulldogs causing that Thumble's post
band quarterbacks pick it up and ifhe get the run, if he didn't
get the run, the back he'sgot to keep the ball and even have
a chain him, look says hellback to the left of a brody Dixon.
They see either side here for thePanthers. On third and ten,
flag comes in and play will beblown and dead. It's a false start

(55:13):
against Smith's station, so that'll bea five nalty. The hands will be
facing a right around a third andfifteen, and they Dave they've had five
preceiver fifties off, so you knowthey need to clean that up. That
helps Opli like, of course, now you're third and fifteen now so second

(55:36):
quarter of play eight twenty six cleaninggoing forward here, I think fourteen seven
our score as Opelika lead said.Smith's station facing third and long third and
fifteen inside there forty five and they'reon forty carn line. Dickxon out of
the shotgun. It is Quintin Brooksto his right and Dixon gets the snamp,

(55:58):
drops back, sets up. Hadtime. I's gonna stopup and try
to run for it. It's gotsome daylight across midfield. Jackson Kilcrease brings
it down though with the fourty eightyard line. Well short first ten will
be fourth and a right that's thencoming up. See on the opal like
a side of the field. Seeyou what coach Bryant Garrison decides to do.
He wants to try to bend theBulldogs back. He sends in his

(56:20):
punning team. But boy, I'dbe looking for fake they've been working on
in the two weeks they've had off. We'll see, oh three on third
down conversions. Anna Thomasin's the punter. He stands inside the forty yard line.
They're on thirty eight and Jamari Millerback around the fifteen to await this
punt and it is a pun they'vebeen away from her, and it's tring

(56:40):
to take a little bit of aPanther roll inside of the twenty down close
to the devn teen lit. That'swhere the Dogs will start first in ten.
As we continue here in the AuburnPremiere Air second quarter, remember Auburn
team dealer and they serve Auburn oplelot like Martin and the surrounding air.
There is call them today seven fourto oho thirty forty eight seven sixteen to

(57:05):
play here in our first half, and when the Bulldogs lead at fourteen to
seven over the Panthers, and we'regetting near that five minute mark, now
the crucial last five. It's thehalf. We got a fourteen to seven
lead. We need to have agood drive right here, no penalty on
mistakes. Let's see what we got. Well, it's hard to see the
hashes with all the rain we've got. I think it's the seventeen yard line.

(57:25):
Gagliano out of the shotgun, tworeceivers right and a single receiver to
the left side. Waits is thetail bag. Gagliano drops back, pump
fakes to the right, goes leftdeep, got Miller in one on one
coverage that's called down at the fortyfive yard line. At the twenty eight
yard reception for Gagliano to Jamari Millera big time average transferring first down.

(57:51):
It was Alex roff in coverage forthe Panthers, twenty eight yards, twenty
eight yard pickup. Great job,No check that it's more than that.
Yeah, I was about to say. Line of scrimmage was the seventeenth there's
a throw here near side. BrodyJones has it a fault and Brody Jones

(58:15):
is down to the close to theforty one yard line. It was a
thirty thirty eight yard pick up thirtyeight okay, pace on the stop ball
spotted down to the forty one yardline. This will be a second down
and seven coming up here for theBulldog six twenty eight remaining here in this

(58:37):
first half of play, fourteen toseven our score. Yeah, that was
a little screen passed to Brody Jones. Nice. That's what Roman does great
throwing those quick passes. Two receiversto the right side. It is Javion
Williams, a tail back to theleft of Gagliano. Play action, Roman
drops back steps throws across the middlefloated one and tried to get it to

(58:59):
jam Or Miller and it hit theground. I think Rome in that time
tried to just float a little toomuch air trying to get it in between
the defense, and it dropped intheir incomplete gonna be third down and seven
coming up here for the Bulldogs, the forty one of Smith's station, and
we're one of two on third downconversions. I think if you can pick

(59:22):
up some yardage here, you'd evengo for it on fourth down. We
can get like five, that's right, yeah, we get within one waits
is the tailback for Gagliano trips receiversto the left side, Singer receiver right
Roman quick throw here near side, dropped by Brody Jones at the forty one
yard line. May not go forit now, and that was just in
and out of Jones's hands. Hemay have had that four or five yards

(59:45):
if he could hang on to thatone. Five point fifty clock stopped and
coach Peakman now faced a fourth downand eight, and he looks like he's
keeping the fence out here anyway.Leading from fourteen to seven at this the
station forty one yard line. Ohgoodness, well, that's why I don't

(01:00:07):
coach anymore. Bennett Young in there'sa wide out, he'slned up wide to
the right side of the field andJones here to the left, staying out
here offensively here Gangliano may just betrying to draw him off sides. No,
he's gonna go for it, handsit to Waits, Wait straight up
the middle, bouncing it outside,Waits inside the thirty twenty five twenty Waits

(01:00:27):
down the sidelines, ten five touchdown. Jordan Waits to the house. And
there is a flag late after theplay. And I don't know if this
is on celebration or what. Ididn't see anything, but there's a touchdown
by Jordan Waits. Why we'll tellcoach Bateman after this game. That is
why I have retired forty one yardtouchdown run by and wait and coach,

(01:00:52):
that's his third touchdown of the night. Wow, his biggest run of the
season, a forty one yarder. And will wait and see what this penalty
was after the touchdown. He clearlywas in the end zone when they threw
the fly and down the sidelines fora four seasons Little Credit Union sideline report,
mister McCracken, what you got downon the field. Great diy,

(01:01:14):
Right, we're gonna have this isgonna be a personal foul on on Smith's
right here. Oh really after thetouchdown? Hey, Mic, So you
know that's why quick coaching right there, Hey Wou, I would have punted
that ball, but you know that'swhy I'm not down there anymore. That's
right, and that is right. That is a great call. Right,
Eric's baked, Mack. You knowthat's what we call call coach. If

(01:01:37):
he didn't, if he if hepunted that ball, we'd call him a
chicken. You know, Thank you, Van, I appreciate that, coach.
Don't be chicken. Go for it, come all right, thanks mac
Roman. The sidelines will carroll forthe point after here he snapped good and
kick is up and it is good. Twenty one seven is so polite,
you know. Over Smith's Jason fivethirty eight to play here in this second

(01:02:00):
quarter score and drive hwer by ourfriends at open like a power service hometown
people working for you online at opplike apower dot com. Back after this
time out bulldog football here on thekick Well, that penalty after the touchdown
was on Smith's station. So nowJohnny Cecina has it at the forty five

(01:02:21):
of Smith's station, and old Johnny, you could probably kick this one through
the uprights. We'll see. Theymay want to try to do an on
side kick here and a kick itsquib it and try to get one of
these big guys for the dogs togo down there and make a style.
We'll see. Johnny only takes afew steps back, doesn't need a whole
lot of leg Johnny kicks it straightto a defender who dropped it, and

(01:02:43):
now it is a scramble for it. Smith's station says they have it at
the thirty yard line. Boy,it thumped right off a Panther player and
Smithyson has it their flag. Andthat looks like it's gonna be on Smith's
stationship. Yeah, and it lookedlike it was on a C station player.
As he walked off field, probablymay have said something that that white
hat did not like, because heimmediately tossed the yellow hanky out. Well,

(01:03:06):
we'll get the official call here fromthe white hat. Now, is
that your player that's coming off? That's the other speakman. Look at him.
That's faller than the nother one. That ship, he's the younger one
ship. The towel man. Thetown's bigger than he is. He's a
good one, as it was againstSmith's station. So an unsportsman line conduct
penalty against the Panthers. Twenty oneseven is our score, five thirty eight

(01:03:29):
remaining here in this second quarter ofplay. Oh that's fine. I got
to come watch him play tomorrow.Well, he's in the flag. His
season's over, Coach, I hateto tell you, you have to come
see Griffin. Ball is spotted nowinside the fifteen down at the fourteen yard
line. We don't need to makeany mistakes down here now at a good

(01:03:50):
defense out of the shotgun. Dixonhas a two back set and the shotgun
formation gets the stamp hands it leftside, Bibbs has it and not much
there before Jamarvi and Dienkins. Thelinemaker comes where it makes the stop gain
on the play and a line ofscrimmage will stay the fourteen yard line here
second down and ten oh that iscost me second down in ten five eighteen

(01:04:16):
to pluck in this second quarter, hand off left side, know where to
go. Tremaine Thomas there to meetthe batten Brook to handoff, and I
think he may have picked up ayard as he fell the job, good
job of the defense. That's theway to stop that run. But third
and nine now for the Panthers, quarterback remains Brody Dixon out of the shotgun.

(01:04:43):
Tail back is Quentin Fooks. Athird down and we'll call it at
nine for the Panthers, got onfifteen yard line, off left, I
know where to go, Alan Jack. And also a fluck comes in on
the bloe. Okay, I believethis is gonna be did Jamarvi and Jenkins
and on the stop? Come on, no, man, I think I

(01:05:10):
guess this was a face mask.Must have been against Opelaika here Mac was
that the call? I missed themissed this? Yeah, that was the
call? All right? A facemask on the defense there on that pile.
So that will give the Panthers alittle breathing room here up to the

(01:05:30):
around the thirty three yard line. That's eighty yards of penalties in this half.
On us out of the shotgun isDixon, quick throw, far side
caught, but nice play. Anotherflag comes in number twenty three. Carson
Moss comes up and makes the stopon the wide receiver. But if these

(01:05:54):
guys are getting paid by the flagsthey throw tonight, they're making some extra
overtime. What is this? It'sagainst Smiths Station and coach Piegan wants to
pack them up so it looks likeit was a hole on the far side
of the field. Another hole, and this one is leased against against Smith's
Station. Mac we're gonna have aworld's record of penalties tonight on both teams.

(01:06:15):
It might be we're heading for it, all right, you know Dothan
last year we had one hundred andseventy in that one. Yeah. Yeah,
they just need to pick these thingsup and let him play ah Lee
all right, Smith Station. Nowafter the penalty, it'll be first down
and first in twenty from around thetwenty three yard line and off goes far
side to Quinton Brooks and Brooks gotthe shideline. Brooks stays on his feet,

(01:06:38):
finally pushed out of bounds at aroundthe forty yard line by Carson Moss,
and that is close to the firstdown he needed twenty. He got
about nineteen or eighteen, depending onthe pot. Looks like they'll mark him
at the hard to see right atthe thirty nine yard line. It's out

(01:06:59):
of the shotgun Dixon hard count Dixongets the stamp hands of Brooks left side.
Nothing there any get anything? Hesure didn't that well, look autry
on top for bullbarg fans. Don'tforget Bubba's medicine time. Just what the
doctor ordered locally on an operator.Visit Bubba's Edison shop. Let them take
care of you. Loaded seeking evityyou in Opalaiko. Third and six,

(01:07:25):
Here we go. They're oer forthree on third down conversions. And it's
a third and three? Is coachmansinhere for the Panthers for they're on thirty
eight yard line. Dixon out ofthe shot gun. He's got a receiver
either side, gets the stamp, quick handoff here to Brooks and nice tackle
in the backfield like Carson Moss getsat thirty five y Another penalty a loss

(01:07:46):
of four on the play. Ohmy goodness. And there is a penalty
on Opelaika. And I just didnot. I didn't, idiot. And
we're gonna have to wait and seewhat the official call was by the white
hat. But another penalty against Opolaikahthat one they are eliminating one of our

(01:08:13):
boys. I don't know what kindof clotter that was. I'm not sure
it's against Opelaika. But I'm notsure somebody. I don't think somebody is
getting getting thrown out here. Ihad to wait. We have to wait
for the for the white hat.Three minutes to go, twenty one seven,
our score, Opelika leading station, and they're trying to get things sorded
here. I'm not sure. Ibelieve it may have been a face mask.

(01:08:34):
He was a sicknal. Where we'llwe'll wait and see, Matt.
Did you did you get any indicationwhat the penalty was? Not just on
sports behind ducked on us? Wheredid he do? Matt? Do you
know what the kid did? I'llfind out here for you. All right.
Well, it could be that that'shis second one of the game,

(01:08:55):
and if that's the case, hewould be gone on the sidelines. We
know Ale Jackson is currently on thesidelines, and that may have been on
him. Yep, Coagman, giveme in a airfool. He's talking to
him on the sidelines, and Idon't I'm not sure the penalty warrant of
the Agejeck, that may have beena second one. I'm not sure.

(01:09:15):
If you get to you were youwere out. So I don't think it'll
be a tough break for the youngman, but got to keep your composure
and Coach Peakman, not much ofan argument from the officials. Three minutes
to go here in this first halfof play twenty one seven, Opelaika with
the lead dog fans. Don't forgetcreating a better banking experience. You can
do it at South State Bank. They're committed to innovated solutions that makes their

(01:09:40):
customers live easier and more convenient.Come by South State Bank and see some
of their local bankers. That's TommyCummings, John Meadows and Eric Canada.
But now they're sorting out the measurementshere and it's getting up close to midfield,
right at the fifty yard hed actuallyhere for the Panthers, and he
was ejected. I believe that wasjust a second one. It must have

(01:10:03):
been. We'll get some little clarification, Coach Piatkman's still talking to now alive.
These officials are taking so much timeVan. This is like that group
in Dothan last year. Well, both officials are bringing everybody off the field
right now, and there's a stoppagenplay here. With three minutes left in
this first half of play, we'llstep aside and take a quick recu listen

(01:10:26):
to Bulldog football here on the Kickerall right, j w KKR Auburn Opalaika
is League County's Best Country ninety sevenpoint seven Kicker FM and iHeart Country Station.
Well, an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty thathas warranted disqualification. We're not sure

(01:10:50):
the nature and what all came abouton that, but we'll move on from
that. Smith's stake to the fieldfirst and ten when we resume play.
Here a three minutes left in thesecond quarter twenty one seven, Opelaka with
the lead, and the Panthers havereally kept this drive going by way of
the officials, and they're going tocall everybody together here now as this one's

(01:11:11):
getting a little chippy and they wantto have a quick meeting with both teams,
and that's what you do in agame like this, so we'll see.
Now, this is the same crewcoach that did officiate the Central game,
So yeah, they've been a littleflagged happy in this one too.
I am serious, I believe soI know it's the same chief here,

(01:11:33):
but you know there's been penalties onboth teams tonight, and not saying that
they've done anything one way or oneanother. But here we are at midfield,
first and ten, a receiver eitherside here for quarterback Brody Dixon out
of the shine gun. He getsit, hands it off to Brooks left
side, and Brooks carries down tothe forty four yard line. He gets

(01:11:56):
close to four yards. Jackson Kilcreasecomes over, makes out for the Bulldogs
to Marvin Jenkins, also in thereon the stop for the Bulldogs and coming
off the pile, one of thebig fellows who kai of like foot,
all juniors on that front. Threebacks in the backfield with the quarterback Dixon,

(01:12:19):
and this time it will go tonumber three Quinton Brooks who carries for
the first down yeah to the thirtynine yard line of Opalaika and to Marvin
Jenkins finally comes in and makes astop. Too many dogs. We're in
there hitting but not wrapping up onthat one on the day. We better
be careful now with the last fiveminutes. We don't want to let them

(01:12:39):
score here before the half down tothe thirty nine of op and Smiths stage.
You'd let some like a wine downdown to ten two nine and a
running clock here in the second quarter, ople like a leading twenty one to
seven Panther's on the move though atthe opallaka thirty nine. Dixon gets it,
hands it off to Brooks left side, and Brooks swallowed up right at

(01:12:59):
the line of scrimmage. Jackson,Kilcrease and Malik Autry in there on the
stop. Autry there first. KillCrease comes up and cleans it up.
Actually that was Jakai Lightfoot in there. Good job, good job well on
the left side, did a goodjob. Up front. Linebackers covered with

(01:13:21):
they are they've been run happy. They are not throwing the ball now,
they're not. They've thrown it.They aven't completed a pass, then completed
a pass his half. That's amazing. Panthers second and ten from the open,
like a thirty nine yard line. This will be Quinton Brooks now running
wildcat quarterback with the blockers lined upto his right. He'll run right the

(01:13:43):
whole way and he has stopped onthe play. Malik Autry there on the
stop. Also in there for theBogs was number twenty two Jordan's Stintson defensive
end. Third down and seven comingup here for the Panthers at the seven

(01:14:04):
yard line. They're gonna try tothrow here. I do believe they're going
forward on fourth down two, Soyeah, yeah, you're right. It
is four down territory here, sothat two opportunities trying to pick up this
first down with the Panthers. Dicksonout of the shotgun for the Bulldog thirty
seven yard line, gets the snapplay action and throws and nobody there three

(01:14:24):
Bulldogs there, closest person Carson Mossand it's fourth down and we'll actually see
that. I finished out o'clock snoutwith thirddays left before the end of the
first half. And I know onething, Coach Garrison does not want to
give the football back to Polaka withany time left. Bulldogs will get the
football to start the second half. For like a leading here twenty one to

(01:14:45):
seven. You don't want to givean opportunity for a late score. They're
gonna think it over though. Timeout on the field twenty one seven Oblelaka
with a lead thirty seconds before theend of this first half. And we're
back after this time out here onthe kick back here at Panthers Stadium,

(01:15:06):
Van Riggs alongside coach Spence McCracken.Mac McCracken down on the field, Jeremy
till As our spotder and I inthe sky tonight, a uh wet one
tonight. Mac McCracken sideline report. When we got down the field, well,
hopefully we can stop abright here. And you know, I mean with
Roman's arm, anything's possible to godown there and score again. So let's

(01:15:27):
just make the stop right here,Mac. They have not completed a pass.
Now, we've you know, we'vegot a good pressure we've been getting
in the backfield all night. Sohe's probably gonna throw big stop right here,
big stop all right, fourth downfor the Panthers. Out of the
time out. Let's see what coachGarrison and his team has drawn up here.
There's thirty seconds remaining. Twenty oneto seven is our score. And
I imagine a little quick play here, and I don't know, maybe a

(01:15:49):
trick play. Look like it mightbe a little like the moved early left
side, no flag though, asliding catch. Is it made? Yes,
it is at the twenty one yardline. First down Panthers, So
they have competed one. It'll stopfor the moment with twenty four seconds left,
and a quick spike by Dixon willstop the clock with twenty Now they

(01:16:11):
let the clock keep running here atPanthers Stadium. You didn't have the chains
even set and they let the playgo. Well, they were hurried down
there, snapped it from the twentyone yard line. Goodness, so it's
second damn, let's be let themun I think they're gonna I I guess
they said they did not get theplayoff. I don't know. They gotta

(01:16:33):
get the time set back right too. Well, this will be second down
and ten. So they do givethem the spike at the twenty one yard
line and twenty two seconds now remaining. Opal like a leading twenty one to
seven, but the Panthers trying tocash in some late points. Quarterback w

(01:16:53):
have to scramble, takes a hit, and that's gonna be a flag against
Opelago. They're gonna get Jenkins,I think on a helmet to helmet hit.
Well, they're talking to coach speakman. Maybe nine. Maybe this was
a hold against Smith against Smiths station. So why it Helm's over Mike the

(01:17:20):
call it as a hold against Smith'sstation. Boy, I thought they were
gonna get Jenkins, and Jenkins thoughthe was about to get a penalty too.
I think hope Polaika fans were cringing, thinking that was the call too,
but it will be a hold againstSmith's station and Coach speakman electing to
move them back and the Panthers willtake a time out. Fifteen seconds remaining

(01:17:42):
here in this first half of Plaguetwenty one seven is our score. Dog
fans. Don't forget Rentals Outdoors, locally owned hunting, fishing, archery and
outdoor store to take care of allyour outdoor sporting needs. Rentals Outdoors off
Geneva Street in Oplaika. And youknow that cooler weather means hunting season is
upon us now. And I'm sobad on the seasons. Now, I
guess both season is in now.I guess right now, you know,

(01:18:03):
I mean people are hunting now.I've been out of the game for a
while. But you can go bythere Rentals Outdoors and get stocked up on
everything you need. Do you hunt? I used to love to hunt,
yeah, and I just have notbeen. I had a chance to go
lately, but I was never aone hunter coach. I went the easy
way. Yeah, you know, the gun the gun route. You know

(01:18:26):
it's a little easier, you know, if one so far away coach and
you buck can't reach it. Idon't know if I can handle that,
you know, believe it or not. I can't. I hate shooting animals,
really yeah. I don't like shootingthat. Miss Peggy out a deer
hunter either. I guess no,she don't like to shoot anything but me.
Oh goodness, oh man, comeon dogs. Fifteen point eight left,

(01:18:49):
Panthers second down and twenty after thatpenalty back to the thirty two yard
line. Trying to cash in somelake points here with fifteen seconds left,
trip's left side. Dixon drops back, throws across the middle, picked off
by the Dogs. Jenkins has itnear side. He's up to the thirty
two yard line, and the clockshould stop, Yes it will. It's
seven points something seconds left, sevenpoint three, so an interception there by

(01:19:14):
the defense. First takeaway we've hadby way of interception the Dogs that recover
a fumble. That's the second turnoverof the game by the Panthers. I
don't know, do you let Romantake a shot and you got seven seconds
left? Panthers will go back andprevent defense here hopel like a leading twenty
one to seven. I think CoachPickman's gonna take a knee opal like it

(01:19:35):
does get the football to start thesecond half, and you got a fourteen
point lead. Hey, Mac,all right, there's a knee taken by
a Roman Gagliano. So that willthe end of the first half. Got
it? Well, they stopped theclock for a moment there, Mac,
you over there, Yeah, Igot you, all right, remind them

(01:19:56):
if we get the ball first.Okay, Yeah, I'm with you,
ye Store, I'm not sure youremind him of that. Yeah, all
right. That is the end ofthe first half. Twenty one seven.
Our second quarter again, brought toyou by Auburn Premier Air for all your
h fact maintenance, repairs and replacements. Seven to four to OHO thirty forty
eight. They're your authorized train dealer. That's Auburn Premier Air now serving Auburn

(01:20:17):
Opelakah, Lateton, Martin and thesurrounding areas. Again your halftime score twenty
one seven. Ope, like withthe lead over Smith Station here at Panthers
Stadium, we'll take a quick breakand week come back. We've got the
band director for like a high schoolWill Wagner interview we had with him earlier
in the season. We'll play thatfor you. Some great information about the
Opalaka marching band of the band programhere and that'll be all the way next

(01:20:38):
to get at the half. Itis opal like a leading Smith Station twenty
one seven. Bulldog football continues afterthis here on ninety seven point seven kicker
FM ninety seven seven kicker hold likea high school football here at the half,
leading twenty one to seven over theSmith Station pant. There's Van Riggs

(01:21:00):
alongside coach Vince mccrack and McCracken headedinto the locker room with the Bulldogs.
We'll get a chance to catch upwith coach speakman coming out of the break.
Jeremy till is our spiner tonight rightnow, spotting some NAT shows here
at the half. All right, coach, what stands out to you as
you look at those first half statistics? Well, we got a that's an

(01:21:23):
interesting one here, Van. We'vehad twenty four snaps and they've had twenty
three. They've had one hundred andtwo yards rushing and we've had one hundred
and thirteen yards rushing. But we'vehad ninety five yards passing and they have
twelve yards passing on one catch, one of five, and we were five

(01:21:45):
of eleven. So we beat themthere. So you add those two up.
We got them by about one hundredyards really because of Gagliano in his
arm, and the receivers have madesome great catches third down conversions. We've
been two. They have not converteda third down conversion. There's zero and
four. They have two turnovers andwe don't have a turnover, and we

(01:22:10):
have six first downs and they havetwo first downs. Score in half twenty
one to seven. Let me saysomething about the kicking game too. If
you go back and look at thekicking game, our kickoffs they ran the
first and back ninety eight for atouchdown, the second one they got at
the thirty, the third one theygot at the thirty seven. Got to

(01:22:32):
do a better job with our kickoffs. When we play these good football teams
and they get to start around theforty yard line, van they got.
Every ten yards you go, youget a ten percent better chance to score.
We got to do better there. We punted three times, they punted
three times. The punt game wasabout the same, no difference, and

(01:22:57):
of course we got three extra points. That's about it. About the star
of the first half too for Opalaika, three touchdowns, all three touchdowns by
Jordan Waits, number twenty four ofthe sophomore comes in big. That's exactly
right, and you know he's theonly he. And they got another kid
too that starts from Blake Johnson. Those are the only two TIPH graders that

(01:23:18):
are starting with them offensively. Ohwell, actually Waits comes in there with
Hughglee, and it sure gives ustwo really good solid running backs. What
have we got to do better?I think we got to get started faster.
And I'm gonna tell you this.I want everybody in op like it
to remember this. We get theball first in the second half, the

(01:23:41):
first five minutes of the third quarter. We gotta do better. I watch
Auburn University every Saturday, and Iwatch them when they are all these college
teams that get the ball first inthe second half. You know, they
all extremely It's that important that youmake something out of that drive. So
I'm interested to see how we comeout in the second half. All right,

(01:24:04):
well we're at the half. Halftimeis brought to you buyer friend at
Gory's Furniture Express and make sure youtake advantage of all the savings going on
right now in October at Gory's FurnitureExpress, locally owned and operated by Jim
and Pam Gory. If you needfurniture, you're not going to find a
better selection than Gory's Furniture Express. They're located right there off Highway one sixty
nine in Opelika, and I thinkJim and Pam have about four football fields

(01:24:28):
for you to shop for furniture. The store keeps going back and back.
If you haven't made a trip outthere before, make sure and go check
out Gory's Furniture Express. Your halftimesponsor and Van, we bought a sofa
and a recliner from Gory's Furniture andwe've loved every minute of it. I
think just about everything in our houseit is from Gory's. It is wonderful.

(01:24:48):
They give you great deals out theretoo. When they see my wife
come in, they're high five. And I can tell you. We're at
the half twenty one seven right now, Smith Station trailing Opalaika. Bulldogs will
get the foot fall to start thesecond half and we're back after this time
out here on the twenty one sevenour halftime score Opalalaika. Right now with

(01:25:14):
the lead as we are at theprey, we're gonna get some scores though
from around the area, and we'llcheck in all what exactly is going around
the area as far as scorers go, and let's check in. We have
those scorers here, and we dohave a note that scored. Othan was
a leading enterprise seven to nothing atthe break, Opalaca right now leading Smith

(01:25:35):
Station twenty one seven. Benjamin Russellforty one to fourteen in a final from
last night over Pelham. You followtrailing at Charles Enterson twenty four to thirteen.
A really good Charles Henderson team, bore Guard. They trail at the
half to Elmore County thirteen to seven. Valley leading Tallasey forty one to seven
at the half, and Handley ascorer from last night fifty one to thirty

(01:25:59):
one against Talladega in a real townshutting out horse. You've been right now
thirteen nothing Beulah at Childersburg leading atthe half nine to eight. Lo Chapoka
final from last night thirty thirteen winnerover at Tagaville. That game played at
Bulah's High School and Russell County. They trail Pike Road fourteen to six.
We're at the break right here, twenty one seven. Our score as Opelika

(01:26:21):
leads Smith Station. We'll catch upwith coach Eric Speakman coming up here in
just a bit. Again. Ourhalftime brought to you by Gory's Furniture Express,
and we're back after this time out. You're listening to the Bulldog football
here on the kicker. We're backhere at the half twenty one seven as

(01:26:43):
our score as Opelikah currently leading SmithStation. The Bulldog's starting to make their
way back out from behind the visitingbleachers here at Smith Station. And coach
you you com back out here tostart the second half. You know,
you've just got to get the footballto start first, and then you gotta
get down there and score. Madethis twenty eight to seven ball game.

(01:27:05):
Yep, I agree, and alsoI wanted to bring up penalties. In
the first half. We had ninetyfive yards and penalties, they had one
hundred and ten two. That's almosttwo hundred yards in penalties by both teams.
So it was about even, buttoo many mistakes by both teams.

(01:27:26):
The other big play. We hadfive big plays and they only had one,
so that was really a big differencemaker in the twenty one to seven
score. So we get to kickoff, we get to receive the kick,
So let's see if we can cando something with the ball the first
time we got the ball in thesecond half. Yeah, that would be

(01:27:49):
nice. Bulldogs out stretching around hereand getting loosened up to the end zone
to our right and Smith stations areto stretch to our left. As we
are currently here at the half,we'll take a quick time out and we
come back. We'll try to catchup with head coach Eric Speakman as he
makes his way back out onto thefield to get started here for the second
half. But before we do that, let's sad down on the field.

(01:28:11):
Matt. We' crack it down onthe sideline. Mac, can you give
us an update on Calvin Hugley. We know he got banged up, has
not played much in the first halfand now is in street closed down here
on the sidelines. Yeah, I'llcheck with you on that. Van.
I'm not sure. I'm just waitingon coach Peakman coming down here. But
at I mean, he addressed theball the ball team really well right there
in the half, and I expect, like Dad said, I expect to
see him come out here in theyou know, with the with the opening

(01:28:34):
drive here and let's see if wecan get some points. Uh, you
know, it would be good tosee. So, I mean they're in
higher spirits down here, you knowthe twenty one seven just you know,
well, I think I think we'llhave a better second half than we did
on the first. All right,I know Calvin is wearing a sling here
on the sideline, certainly. Hopehe's doing okay. And I know Mary
Smiley not in the lineup tonight.Mac, I know he's uh, he's

(01:28:55):
not out not playing tonight as well. Right, Yeah, Coach Prescott said
they just hold him out. Soundslike a little stomach bug or something.
So that's keep him waiting out ofyou know, not effective team or anything
like that. Get him healthy gettingready for Thursday night at the Enterprise.
But I know he's listening in SoMario, we hope you feel better there
and get you back soon. Man, absolutely twenty one to seven as our

(01:29:15):
score. We'll get coach Speakman's halftimethoughts we come back. You're listening to
Bulldog football here on the back hereat Panthers Stadium as coach Peak down there
and getting some clarification on something fromthe officials. Matt McCracken getting ready to
speak with coach Speakman. All right, Mac, take it away, hey,

(01:29:36):
Coach Peakman, twenty one seven.Little frustration their first half, would
you tell the team in the lockerroom there, I just keep playing hard.
Let's go out and play our besthalf football. We've kind of slopped
around too many holding penalties, youknow, that's kind of been the theme
of the year. So we willget that fixed and play a really good
half right here, Let's go finishthis one. All right, Thanks so

(01:29:56):
much, Matt mcrackan down there withCoach Speakman, and again we're coming to
you tonight and from the Orthopedic ClinicBroadcast Plaza, East Alabama's go to center
for orthopedic care two locations eighteen hundredLakeside Circle in Auburn and eighteen Medical Arts
Center one twenty one North twentieth Streetin opal Lika. They're on light at
the Orthoclinic dot Com van rings alongsideCoach Spence mccrackett, Mac mccrackett and Jeremy

(01:30:21):
till Is our spoder here high topthe Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth and the Bulldogs
come out onto the field getting setto receive this kick to start the second
half. Boy, if we fastforward diackt the way this game got started.
Boy got started in a dynamite fashionfor the Smith Station Panthers as they

(01:30:43):
returned the opening kickoff back ninety eightyards. That'd be a nice way to
start the second half for the Bulldogs. Coach mccrackett sir, it sure would.
We would take a kickoff return,no doubt about that. Yeah,
and were faced. Matt got thatlow down for you after in a minute
he talked to the trainer. Oh, this is a short kick again at

(01:31:06):
fair catch called for by Brodie Joneson the far side of the field.
By the way, dog fans are. Halftime bit Coach Pigman was brought to
you by Hun Day of Auburn Dayof Alburn Brown sponsor Vopal like a Bulldog
football and they sell cars made inthe state of Alabama. They got americaus.
This warranty Hun Day of Auburn offfull of the road in Auburn third
Core underway. It's brought to youby Tally Conn Farmers co Op. Boy,

(01:31:27):
we're talking about hunting season. Itis here upon us. That's why
you need to stop by your localco op. You got food plots,
feed seek, fertilizer materials and more. Tell ay con co Op the Interseconty
won Highway fourteen in Nold of SILVERA. All right, here we go to
start the second half of play.Bulldogs will start from their own thirty yard
line. It's Jordan Waits in thebackfield with Roman Gagliano here on this first

(01:31:51):
and ten to play. Here forthe Bulldogs. Roman dropped straight back throws
Jamari Miller in and out of hishands, but he came back and was
able to hang on to it atthe thirty four yard line. Was trying
to turn up field, though nownearly popped away. It's gonna be pick
up a four yards second down andsix coming up here for the Dogs.

(01:32:13):
That's a nice throw at catch quickpasses, boy, Roman. I think
that's what Roman really excels at,those quick screens and tonal screens and uh
all the screen games. Three wideouts to the right side, singer receiver
here to the new side. Theythrow far side back to Miller again,
spin move, but not maybe ayard. I don't think he picked up

(01:32:38):
anything. This is gonna be actualloss. They're moving it back one yeah,
that wouldn't for the Ramsey on thestip for the Panthers. When you
when you throw those little ball screensout there, you gotta have the other
receivers have to block those those defenders. And you don't block one of them,
they got a free shot on yourreceiver. Here's your first third down

(01:32:59):
convert h third out and seven forthe Bulldog's trips receivers left side in the
backfield. Roman throws the screen usout here to Waits. Waits turns it
up. Fields got the first downacross the forty forty five and pushed out
of mounds at around the forty sevenyard line. Dawson Ramsey finally tracks down
Jordan Waits, but not before hepicks up in the Bulldog first down,

(01:33:20):
and it's going to be close tofourteen yards three for three. Throwing the
ball there you go as a bigcompletion right there. That's almost a big
play. Yep. To the fortysix yard line is where they'll mark that
ball down. I like the waythey're moving the ball. First drive,

(01:33:42):
third quarter. Here two receivers outwide to the right, single receiver here
to the near side, and RomanGangliano will work out of the shotgun here
on first and ten, quick handoffinside up to midfield and jumping in there
and running the ball was Leland Bell, the sophomore who comes in. He's

(01:34:06):
a little thin in the running backdepartment. Jalen Washington also checking in on
that play. They're good to seemy main man Jalen in there. You
know, you know this is goodfor the team. Go to get these
young kids in here. We'd getgetting near the end of the season van
where everybody have some experience. Yeah, Benning Young one of those young guys.
Sophomore out wide to the right, two to the right, two one

(01:34:27):
receiver to the left. Waits backin the ball game at the tailback spot
here on second down. Waits getsthe hand off left side, got hit
of the line of scribbage, spinshis way down close to the forty six
yard line. Good tough running there. Well, he's got a good surge
about him. You know when hegets the ball, I mean it's vertical
straight ahead. Clayton McMillan on thestop. It'll be third and two coming

(01:34:48):
up here for the Bulldogs at thisMissian forty five yard line. Two right
singer receiver to the left shot anduh may they get the though, Waits
will run straight ahead, and Waitsis going to have enough for the first
down. A boy coach speakman lettingthe official have it over here. He
wanted a flag on that. Ohno, kidd, man, that was

(01:35:10):
a first down. It will befirst down. They'll move the chains.
That is a Lambert transfer and storagefirst down, and the ball is down
at the forty three yard line upSmith's Station twenty one seven on the way
here in the third quarter, broughtto you by tally Con Farmers co Opsmiths

(01:35:31):
Station trailing right now as the Bulldogshave the fourteen point lead, hand off
left side and some running room byWaits turns it down the sidelines. He's
forced out of bounds near the thirtyone yard line, and that run is
going to be really close to afirst down depending on the spot here they'll
mark him down. It looks likeat the about an eight yard game.

(01:35:55):
I tell you this. Just seethese ash marks. That's the thirty three
yard line. I think eight.I think eight or nine now, I
srew do light weights. The wayhe gets up in that hole. What
offensive line's doing a good job too? Second down to one play here for
the Bulldogs at the thirty three. There's Waits right side. Waits a big
hole across the twenty five. He'sinside the twenty yard line and Waits has

(01:36:19):
a Lambert transferred store Fords front ashe carries it down to the seventeen yard
line. Henoryevis on the stump, and there's a panther down on the field,
and there's gonna be a time outhere with eight nineteen remaining here in
the third quarter. Smith's station playerdown on the field and the Bulldogs are
on the move here eight to nineteenleft in the third quarter, twenty one

(01:36:41):
seven our score. We're back afterthis time out here on the kicker back
here to Bulldog football here on ninetyseven point seven kicker fm Opalika leading twenty
one to seven, eight nineteen remaininghere in this third quarter of play.
Two receivers out to the right,a good drive right here blocking up front.

(01:37:08):
Leland Bell back in there at therunning back position to the right of
Gagliano, and it'll be Bell herenear side and a flag thrown on the
play as Bell's pushed out of boundsat around the eleven yard line. There
as a hold on the play.Yeah, that offensive line had some good
push going on this one, butlike it's gonna be a old again the

(01:37:30):
dollars. Let's send down for afour seasons federality side on report Mack.
Any day they're on our dogs andare on the cell lines. Yeah,
I talked to I talked to Calvinfell on his collarbone there, so he's
gonna get it checked out and shouldhave an answer tomorrow morning. All right,
boy, Let's hope I hope there'ssome good outcome on that one there.
Calvin is certainly not putting a lotof pressure on that as we see

(01:37:55):
him down on the sidelines, andhe's got his arm in a sling right
now, so certainly could certainly usemister Calvin huglely down the home stretch.
But more importantly, just hope he'sokay. Eight oh six remaining here the
third quarter, twenty one seven isour score. What they call van The
Bulldog fans were are the Bulldog playerswere happy? I missed the call.

(01:38:16):
It's going to go against Smiths station, Matt. Did you see what that
was? Always a blocking? Uh? Below the waist? Yeah? Or
he must I don't know where speakman'sarguing the spot here hold on a second,
so they move it down. It'sinside the fifteen And how do they
call that on the defense? Idon't know why. I don't blocking below

(01:38:40):
the waist, I don't know how. I'm not sure with a white hat
now conversing appreciating crew here, we'renot hard to see officials trying to get

(01:39:00):
that. They're they're moving it furtherinto Smith's station territory. So that's the
good news for Pulaika. Coach speakingwas arguing the spot, so it looks
like his argument was well received atleast, must have been defensive guys cutting
guys below the waist on defense. Now the ball is spotted down now right

(01:39:21):
at the ten yard line of Smith'sstation and fade passed back corner of the
end zone. Fighting for it wasBennett Young and he's gonna get called for.
I don't know why that might you'reright, man, that might be

(01:39:42):
offensive. Now, I think it'sgonna be on defense. I think it's
gonna be on the defense. Yeah, they're gonna get They're gonna get a
pass interference on on the defender onBennett Young on that one. He's he's
did a good on that one. That was definitely against the Panther defender over
there. He had he had twohands on Bennett Young in the back of
cord of the end zone. Sothat will be a fifteen yard penalty and

(01:40:04):
that will be enough for a firstdown. It's first in gold now,
Opelaikah the knows of the football atthe five yard line. That's one hundred
and forty yards in penalties for Smith'sstation. All right, Wait's back in
the ball game. Now he's gotall three, opel like a touchdown.
See if he could make it numberfour and have an Al Bundy day.
He gets hitting the backfield, stayson his feet, he's inside the five

(01:40:24):
touchdown Jordan Wait. SIT's an olBunday night. Four touchdowns in a game
for mister Waite, seven fifty oneleft here in the third quarter, Coach
McCracken, awesome. Without eleven yardrun, that was ten ten good.
Four touchdowns for mister Waits. Thesophomore had one touchdown coming into tonight.

(01:40:47):
He's had him a night to rememberhere in Panther Stadium. And it's twenty
seven to seven with seven fifty oneremaining here the third quarter. Here's the
point after attempt from Will Carroll,Rody Jones will hold hold is good,
snap was good and the kick isup. It is good. String drive
power my friends and open like aservices. Hold them peeking for you online

(01:41:11):
at OPLE like a Power Services ourown line at oplelichopower dot com. They're
hometown people, work in it foryou. Twenty eight to seven, our
score, seven fifty one left inthe third quarter, brought to you by
Talley Con Farmers co Op. Andwe're back at this time out here on
the Boy a four touchdown night forJordan Waits, the sophomore. He has

(01:41:36):
all four touchdowns for the Bulldogs andOple like a leading at twenty eight to
seven with seven fifty one to play. Here in the third quarter here at
Panthers Stadium, Johnny Sissina wobbly kickcaught at the ten yard line. It
will be returnable across the twenty andspins up around the twenty five yard line.
Rody Jones comes in and makes thetime. Had a nice stomp there

(01:42:00):
by Brody Jones on that return.Joan trying to see who exactly wound up
carrying that one for the lot bettercoverage right there was Anthony here in the
Quarterback Weekly on the return of theair well back back. They kind of
hipped around to play a little biteverywhere back here for the Panthers footballing around

(01:42:25):
the twenty six yard line. That'swhere Smith's station will have the football to
start first in ten trailing here bytwenty one, with seven forty two remaining
in our third quarter twenty eight seven, it's Opalaika with the lead. And
we took that ball of drive andtook it all the way down. Man,
proud of them, shinegun format, the sure quarterback hair amp will work

(01:42:48):
out of the shot and gun hereand gets it option Blake cornerback bulls and
wants to run left and trying outrun the defense and did a good job
for all there. Court Inger fromthe corner finally comes in makes the style,
but nine before the running back ourquarterback here he picks up close to
some of the yards. It'll besecond down and three say this first time

(01:43:10):
they've had the ball the whole halfit is. It doesn't seem like it,
does it. Man there already threeyard line, a hand off left
side nowhere going brooks Lee. Autreytracks him down in the back over on
the far side of the field. He loose two yards and then this will
be third down and close to sixmaybe seven coming up here for the Panthers.

(01:43:35):
Yeah, big play, big play, dogs moving in some substitutions here
kill Crease will come out kill Chris. It's really done. Your good job
at linebacker. He has be athird and seven coming up here for the
Panthers. Hard count by herring. He gives it far side, nobody,

(01:43:56):
no running room at all. It'sa nice job there by the defense coming
over making stop Tremina Thomas and alsopunted away here you go coming up there
also was Covante White, number twentyeight. They have not had a third
down conversion tonight. Van They're zerofor five, so that was a loss

(01:44:19):
on the play, lost another threeyards. It's fourth and ten. Panthers
will snap it from the twenty fiveyard line. Punter thomasin. It's a
high spiraling boot. This will sendMiller back found a third five yard line,
but did a nice job of catchingit. Boy, I think last
week I haate to go back tothat game, Coach. There's a flag
on the play. Also back aroundthe where the punter was. I didn't

(01:44:42):
see if anybody hit him. I'lltell you one of the plays in the
game was on the punt by Gaglianothat was actually caught by the award and
punt return man last week. Hesaved about twenty five yards last week on
that one, and that was asimilar play there. Miller did a nice
job. I'm cat what if hedoesn't catch that one, that may roll
another ten or fifteen yards and Iknow you're about vel position on those fronts.

(01:45:04):
Coaches always to the game roughing thekicker. This was a running end
of the kicker. It was justa five yard pimp. So Opelako will
stay with the football, so they'llback the dogs up five yards where they
caught it. So Oplaika will startfirst and ten from their own thirty yard
line. It's five fifty nine remaininghere in this third quarter of play.

(01:45:42):
It's brought to you by it tallyCon Farmers co Op twenty eight to seven.
Right now Smiths Station trailing Opalaika.Bulldog's back with the football scored on
their first drive to start this half, and see if Roaming and the crew
can put together another good drive heredogs for they're on thirty yard line.
Roman drops back, wants to throwMiller's got into the thirty five. It

(01:46:03):
did a nice job staying on hisfeet. He's gonna get up to the
thirty sing yard law for a yardpicket. He's four and a half a
second and four. Actually seck itdown in three here for the dogs.

(01:46:26):
From there on thirty seven yard.Just let that clock run. Two wide
outs right, singer receiver here tothe left side. Gangliano out of the
shotgun, gets the stamp. Quickhand off is two Waits behold again across
the twenty five or the midfield ratherthan across the forty five, and Waits
is down in the forty six yard. Last boy, Jordan Waite's having dad

(01:46:47):
coach Hamby on the stop for Smith'sstation. How many yards was that one?
They're gonna mark it down at theforty four to nineteen yards on that
run by Jordan Waks. We arerunning that football. That's what I love
to see. Leland Bell checks inthe game. Now to give a breather.
Two weights, two receivers right anda single receiver to the left side.

(01:47:11):
Yagliano gets the snamp pump fakes tryand take a deep shot for Miller
in a foot race. Miller outstretchedarms could not get it at the six
yard line. Just a near missthere from Gagliano to Miller on a deep
shot. With four fifty three lefthere in the third quarter, twenty eight
to seven, o poleco with thelead, and it will be second and
ten for the Bulldogs of the fortyfive of Smith's whoa man, that was

(01:47:34):
close. Four fifty three left inthe third quarter of play. See what
coach Chiaman and the offense dial uphere with four fifty three left in the
third quarter, trips receivers here tothe left side, single receiver to the
right. Roman lost the football andjust got away from him. He picks

(01:47:58):
it up and Romans going to besacked back a forty six yard line.
And that one, I think Romanwas just trying to think ahead a little
bit and just lost the football. Not a bad snap, but Roman just
let that one get away from abig loss. He's gonna be about a
third and goodness, this is goingto be close to third and twenty.
I think about a ten yard loss, isn't it. Yeah? About a
third and nineteen coming up now forthe Bulldogs. The ball is back to

(01:48:23):
the forty six yard line, soexactly a ten yard loss. Third down
and twenty here for the Bulldogs.Trips receivers right, single receiver here to
the near side. Roman looks left, now looks back right, try to
dump a screen pass, but thatone was patted and tipped by Eli Stonebreaker.

(01:48:45):
The defensive end got in there andput some pressure on Gagliano. And
it's fourth down and now Dogs willhave to punt it away for the first
time tonight. They'll actually send inZion Henderson to punt. You have Roman
a little little brier here. He'sa June punter. He's got a pretty
good leg too. He's a bigfellow to five ten, two hundred and
fifty pounds. Hey, he hitsome good ones against Theodore. He was

(01:49:06):
in there putting in that Theodore game. He stands at around the thirty one
to catch this punt, gets thesnap and puts a missile boot into this
one and it it's for the momentand keep roll. Kind of a dying
wedge shot there and they all wantthat. Now on inside the twenty yard

(01:49:28):
line, that's where Smith's station's offitswill come out and work. Trailing twenty
eight to seven fifty four left inour third quarter, play getting brought to
you by tally Con Farmers co Op. Remember everything you need for hunting season,
food plots, feed seed, fertilizer, minerals, and much more.
Intersection of eighty one Highway fourteen andnoulda saga and they got a location.
Elmore County Force co Op Queen's nRoad in with tempco from the all right,

(01:50:00):
at the twenty yard line. Insidethe twenty, we'll say the eighteen
the action, they'll throw it outand a nice tackle there by Kavi and
King on the stop as he caughtup with Cameron Cooper. No game on
the play, second down at tenfrom the nineteen yard line. No game,

(01:50:32):
No game. They may lost theyard, Okay, set it down
an eleven and Dolf no job,Jackson Kincree shot the gap here and also
coming in and assistant on that stop, Kyries Pitts. They have five running

(01:50:53):
plays in the second half for zeroyards, third down ten coming there for
the Panthers. Great job against run. Now under three to go here in
this third quarter from Panthers Stadium tonighthere in Smith's Stakes in Alabama, always
a great atmosphere for high school footballand Panthers. He's on a third and

(01:51:15):
ten from their own nineteen yard line. Roddy Dixon, the cornerback, waits
a stamp flag on. That's gonnabe on the offense five yards. Two
twenty eight o'clock has stopped with that, penalty backs things up five yards.

(01:51:36):
Are one hundred and fifty yards andpenalties on Smith's station tonight, I'll put
it down to the fourteen yard line. So now the Panthers forced in a
third in law, not where theywant to be. Backed up now from
there on a fourteen yard line,Dixon'll standing quarterback. He's got bibs to

(01:51:59):
his let it's to his right, two receivers near side, one wide receiver
wide to the left side. Andthat was just a discombobulation. Also all
together there one guy moved on lineand the snap went high and I had
another five It's gonna be another fiveagainst against this. That makes it one
hundred and fifty yards and penalties onspinths station. Got one hundred and ten

(01:52:26):
yards and penalties. Clock stout withtwo oh three left of the third quarter.
Coach, I tell you won't findmany schools around where the football team's
only won three games of the lastthree seasons and they just about pack out
the home sign every single week.Yeah, they have good craw Now they
got a crowd hanging in here stilllate third quarter and off left side as

(01:52:48):
to Quinton Brooks trying to cut theedge and an ice jump tracking him down
was Calledfonte White Senior comes over, makes a stop fourth down, punting time.
One thing Coach all Garrison. Hecomes in as his first year here
at Smith's station and not much coachingexperience in the state of Alabama, but
he has actually coached under a coupleof big time coaches. He's coached under

(01:53:09):
Nick Saban and Kirby Smart as agraduate assistant, right, Yeah, and
at Alabama, and he's got somehe's got some guys that he's learned from.
At the forty five yard line, fair catch after the forties yard line,
the fair catch called for by JamariMiller. We got a chance to
meet coach Garrison back during media days, and boy, he's a he's a

(01:53:30):
sharp guy and you know, gothis work cut out for him here at
Smith trying to get this program backgoing. You know, coach Mark Rose
several years back was able to buildsomething that took him a while to get
this get the program going and uh, you know this program's had purchased exists
in the past ten or so years, but go back, well actually entered
fifteen years. But well back inthe eighties coaching nineties. Boy, this

(01:53:54):
Smith's station book, they were toughwith the coaches. Guy member, I
had to coached against him. Yeah, Gagliano out of the shotgun from it
his on a forty six yard line, trips receivers to the right side.
There's a handoff to Bell in theback. Field's going to be swallowed up
for a loss on the play.Johnston Ramsey comes in to make stop.

(01:54:15):
Back to the forty six yawn oneo six and the clock run and lay
here third quarter twenty eight seven fouropen like at least Smith's station. Here
is wine thing now under a mintto go here in the third quarter that

(01:54:38):
lost back to the forty six yardline, Trips receivers to the left side,
Singer receiver to the right. It'llbe second down and eleven now four
the Bulldogs. Gagliano drops out ofthe shotgun, wants to take a shot
deep down field, trying to hookhim with Bennett Young and he got tackled
and there's a flag on the pluckeight Young comes up. He wanted it
and he knew it on the playpass interfere he gets Young, Yeah,

(01:55:04):
I'm good calling. Trying to takea deep shot there, and hey,
if you if you don't look up, at least get the pass interference fifteen
years enough for the first down andthat'll move the chain to put the Dogs
into Panther territory. Stops the clockwith thirty three seconds left as well,

(01:55:25):
down to the forty. Mclocke willstart back on the referee east. Little
Here's under with a Bulldogs snap thisone add the fort of Smiths trips receivers
to the left, Singer receiver tothe right side. Dangliano gets the snap,
quick throw to Miller and Miller turnsit up. Field stays on his
feet across the thirty five down tothe thirty four yard line. He picks

(01:55:49):
up six yall and under twenty secondsnow remaining here in this third quarter before
Jermaine Brown makes the stop for thePanthers twenty eight to seven. The lead
forth the Little Dogs. Roman maywant to snap it one more time here.
Leady Landell still reigns the loan back. That snap got all what awkwardly.

(01:56:13):
Gagliano picked it up and we'll takethe sack back at the forty five
yard line. I think that snapmay have hit the leg maybe of park
or Kill Creek. I'm not sure. It somehow shot off awdly to Roman
and it got away and that'll bethe end of the third quarter. Third
core again brought to you by tallyCon Farmers co Ops. Stop in for
all your hunting needs. Food that'sfee seed, minerals and more. That's

(01:56:34):
right there at the intersex of eightyone and Highway fourteen in Noldasaga Elmore County,
location three point fifty five Queen AnneRoad in wood Tumpcoe. Back for
the fourth and final quarter after thistime out twenty eight to seven. The
Smiths Station Bulldogs trailing Opal Like andyour dogs right now with a twenty one
point lead as we start in thefinal quarter. After As we're starting the

(01:56:57):
fourth quarter, third and long forthe Bulldogs and we'll drop back try to
set up a screen. It iscaught by Jordan Waits down the far sidelines
and Waits is down inside the thirtyfive down round the thirty four yard line,
so a good pick up there onthe play that will make it a
fourth down and five coming up herefor the Bulldogs. Yeah there, go

(01:57:19):
for this. Oh yeah, sothe ball spotted now down to the thirty
five yard line. Our fourth quarterbrought to you by Kim Dry of East
Alabama. Kim Dry sers Auburn andno plaka and get you a cleaner,
healthier home, Shane Harrison, KimDry give him a call today seven four
to one, thirty nine thirty startingthe fourth quarter twenty eight to seven,

(01:57:41):
Opelaika with the lead and to addon it here at the thirty five a
Smiths Station. Fourth down in fivehere for the Bulldogs going for it,
run play two weights stopped in thebackfield, lost two yards and that'll be
a turnover on downs. Emry Daviscomes in and makes the stop in the
backfield, and boy, that wasa deflating series there. Let's go down

(01:58:02):
for four seasons. Fedal Credit UnionSideline report Max. A lot of young
guys getting a chance here now forthis Bulldog team. Yeah, that's that's
good to see. That's good tosay, because I mean, you never
know when they'll be called upon toplay, but get them some playing time
here, and you know, defensivelylet's just continue to stop them from from
scoring. And you know, letthe young ones play here. You know,

(01:58:23):
I noticed Mac their offensive line anddefensive line. They're not as big
as some of these other teams we'vebeen playing. No, they're not.
You know, yeah, they're notas quick either as most teams. But
you know, we're doing what wegot to do, all right. Throw
here to the near side. Bibbshas its slips attack where the ball popped
down, there's a scramble for inthe smith's station. Panther's a fall into

(01:58:44):
the forty one yard line. Boy, that was another close turnover opportunity and
falling on it was number seventy seven. That was a lineman are Neamile West.
We hasted it and they picked upa little bit of yardage too on
that one, and we got ourWe got our buck in there. Now

(01:59:05):
Panthers are on forty one yard line. A play action throw and catch it
is caught. Nice job getting itover to Jalen Bibbs and he's got the
front up to the forty nine yardline. As that pickup was good for
eight yards on that throw and catch, court Ingram comes up, makes a
nice hit, gets the stop butfirst down Panthers as they go fast down

(01:59:26):
at the forty eight near midfield, quick hand off right up the middle land.
Quinton Brooks with a nice pick updown to the forty five yard line.
Had for six yards. Dog's gotGeorge Stenson, Bernie Coby Johnson and
remain Thomas u up from a quickthrow on first and our second done rather
and it is near the first markerat forty one. Boss has stopped.

(01:59:48):
Good for another first down for thePanthers till seven is stopped with the jackanve
Diick wants to go fast again. Here he'll b a man in motion,
little swift plate of Bibbs right sideand Bibs trying to turn the corner.
But a nice tackle over on theforest die of the field. And I

(02:00:09):
believe that was Leland Bell on thestop there for the Bulldogs number twenty nine.
Yeah, he plays offense too, doesn't he. Hey old he need
one of the running backs, Yeahhe does. Yeah, I believe that
was Bell in there. Second downin nine, right at the forty yard

(02:00:34):
line, handoff left side, goodrunning by Quinton Brooks and he gets another
first down down to the thirty yardline eleven yards on handoff. Yeah,
we don't let these guys. Now, that's our two fund in there.
We don't let him score here roundJamarvi and Jenkins on the stop. He's

(02:00:55):
one of those starters in there. They made the till there another quicking side
hand off right and another good runby Quinton Brooks right side. He picks
up another close to five yards. This will be say four yards second down
and six. Anthony Bernie on thestop. One of those soft bores.

(02:01:18):
Check it out in six for thePanthers at the twenty five yard line of
Opalaika. Dixon trying to direct traffichere too, White out back trying to
the scene. Overshot is intended Whitea far side of the field. Aubrey
Wemberley, who had the opening kickoffreturn for a touchdown. There comes our

(02:01:41):
one inside guys back and leek Autryand ja Kai lightfoot check back in the
ball game here on third and fiveat the twenty five Opalaika twenty eight to
seven Opelika with the lead and Anther'strying to convert a third and five.
Dixon shot guns damp. They'll giveit of the tail back left side and
picked up the first down. He'sdown close to the fifteen yard line.

(02:02:03):
Jackson Kilcrease comes in on the stop. No'll walk him down at the sixteen
yard line. They're pushing us around. Come on, guys, you went
and let them run the ball allnight. Two wine outs either side here
for Dixon, hard count man.I believe they got the defense to jump

(02:02:26):
there. That's loppy seer for thisdefense, they'd have been forty yards.
Well, you're leading twenty eight toseven right now, and you just don't
feel like you. I guess youwanted to here tonight, exactly right and
very fortunate to be, you know, up twenty one right now, eight

(02:02:47):
o five left in this ball game, and that was an offside penalty against
Opelaika, so that will be afive yard penalty. Certainly, gonna have
to clean these things up next week. And you had to face enterprise with
calf implication certain on the last week. Oh yeah, yeah, they're gonna
be they've they't throw the ball, they just run ball. I have to

(02:03:09):
option. It was game first sevenfifty two left tier two wide outs,
left singer receiver to the right side, and here's a handoff right side to
Jermaine Brown who tries to turn itdown the sidelines and he's gonna be pushed
out. It looks like inside thefive. Garson Moss comes over, makes
that stop. We are coming toyou from the Orthopedic Clinic Broadcast Booth,

here inside the five and this willbe a first in goal situation down for
the Panthers. Hand off right sideto Brown, turns it inside the five,

(02:03:50):
dives towards the end zone and nosignal yet. Yes, touchdown Smith's
station with seven twenty nine left.I tell you what if that score right
there doesn't fire up this offense totry to put something together here coming back
out, I don't know what doescome. You're right answer, that was

(02:04:12):
bad? That was that was reallypoor by our defense. They went sixty
yards on us just then, pointafter attempt coming in from Keaten Sparks snap
down and the kick is up andit is good. Twenty eight fourteen Smith's
Station back within a little bit closerhere to the Bulldogs. Seven twenty nine

(02:04:44):
left in our ball game. Man, we'll take a quick time out if
you're listening to Bulldog football here onninety seven point seven Kicker FM. We
got a two score game with seventwenty nine left. Twenty eight to fourteen
is our score. And coach,we got a ball game here in the

(02:05:08):
fourth store. Dude, we suredo we bet it that will be better.
Drive this ball right here short kickoff sides will be called all the
Smith's station. He let his kickoff coverage team get a little to ahead
of him here seven twenty six remaininghere in our ball game again a fourth

in the auburn oaplea like a LakeMartin area called Shane Harris and Kim Dride

(02:05:51):
it back five yards and read kickhere as Keaton sparks. We'll kick it
away twenty eight fourteen our knees worn. Polika would lead, but the Anthers
are only within two scores now ofthe Bulldogs. Here in this fourth quarter,

(02:06:12):
short kick and it's gonna bounce andBrody Jones nicely goes up and gets
it at the forty five yard line. Boy, that was a little too
close for comfort. We're gonna saygreat field pos issue. Now, it
wasn't a straight up on side kickattempt, but he certainly kicked it where
nobody was and but Brody Jones dida nice job coming in and grabbing that
one, securing it and oh,pol like, we'll have the football.

(02:06:33):
As coach mentioned, very good fieldposition at the forty five yard line.
Dogs were their own forty five tostart at the drive. That's our first
bunch back out there and this isone of those got to put them away.
Time drives here, Coach, yesAir Gagliano out of the shotgun formation,
receivers wingle Siver to the left.We got Jordan Waite's back to tailback

(02:06:56):
spot. He's responsible for all fourof us. Like a touchdown to hit
the handoff left side and up tothe forty nine yard line. That will
be good for four yards on firstdown. Emery Davis on the foe of
the Panthers shout out to former Smith'sStation coach Martin Rose listening to us tonight.

(02:07:28):
Coach does thanks for checking in.I that's great Martin, Hello to
you friend checking that five at midfield. That throw them and Ganglyona get it
Janglan who gets into Wake's left sideagain. Wakes busted it across the forty.
Hey, there is a flag overhere on the sidelines over on one
of the stimization players way away fromthe play got tied up with Brody Jones

(02:07:53):
number nine. That's right, hada boy Jones caam Jackson, I believe
getting over here on that one.Father Jones is sitting over here by us
man and he really thought bro dida great job there not being aggressive with
eight hit. So a good pickupby Jordan Waits which got all the way

(02:08:22):
to the thirty five yard line. Was it close to a sixteen yard run
and it's going to be fifteen moretacked on, So this will spot in
the ball all the way down untilaround the twenty one yard line. Smith

(02:08:43):
Station is close to two hundred yardsand penalties. Now, this's been around
three hundred and fifty yards of penaltiesbetween the two teams. Down to the
twenty one of Smith's station. Firstand ten, Gangliano out of the shot
gun. He's got two receivers leftto single receiver to the right side,

(02:09:03):
and again Waits remains the lone bag. Waits gets the handoff straight up the
middle inside the fifteen, spins hisway across the ten. That's gonna he
goes to another first down. JacksonSingletarry comes up and makes the stop check
that that was Mackay Simpson, Folks, back in the ballgame. Makay Simpson

(02:09:26):
gets a handoff, Folks. Ifyou don't know the story, Makay Sipson.
It has been a long journey forhim to be back here with opal
Ika coach. He was involved inthe Davil shooting folks and remained in the
hospital and uh, just a remarkablewhat a great thing to see him back
in this ballgame. Mikay Sipson andhe lines up to the left of Gagliano

(02:09:54):
here and you know they'd love getMackay. He touched down at the fifteen.
Makay gets the handoff and he's hitright at the line of scrimmage,
but he pushes that pile down insidethe five down to the four yard line.
Makai was one of the really wantedto breakaway offensive players last year.
Coach at many times, and uh, he's had just a long, long

(02:10:15):
journey to come back from obviously youknow what he went through. He is
a big child too. He's notlittle. What's he WA's his white night
boy? Coach. Uh, he'sa big boy. Now we had he's
six one, two hundred. Yeah, yeah, you know, he's an
athlete. That's what he's listed as. Sitting in goal from the five and

(02:10:37):
Makay lines up to the left ofGangliano and Makay gets the handoff, tripped
up in the backfield inside the five, Mackay spinning his way. He won't
be toned. Touchdown Bulldogs, MackaySimpson, Welcome back Bulldog football. My
friend, A boy that is aman right there that wanted him a touchdown

(02:10:58):
and knew Dog fans. Boy,they see the effort and maybe that will
give a spark to this Pulldog team. Maybe that's what they needed. Coach
McCracken, that is off. Lookat everybody giving that young man a high
five. He is hugged by BenLanders, his coach Landers Landers almost attacked

(02:11:20):
him. I was off a manthat I've been telling you has been through
it and he is back. BrodyJones to hold low snap, got it
up and the kick is no good. WHI to the left this extra point.

What just stays in bounds. Let'shead down on the full season Spedal Credit
Union sideline for it. Mac McCracken, how about Mikay Sipson. Yeah,
man, you're right, you're right. They all mobbed him and everything.
That was a great drive just whenwe needed it to to get the momentum
back for the offense. That'll feela little bit better about themselves. Tremendous

(02:12:48):
job. Of course, you sawthe sidelines you all were commenting on and
how they all mugged him and everythinglike that. Great job. Let's defensively,
look see if good, Let's don'tlet him in the end zone here
right here, and you know what, five looks left. Yeah, so

with a football from their on twentyyardland out of the shine, and Dixon
drops back. It's complete little screenpass over the middle. Yeah, Ayden

how long the recovery was for Hejust let and that sort of thing
and try to build the strink backup and that's really what's taking him so
long to get back going. Andwell it looked like he had some energy
tonight. Sure, second down intwo for the Panthers to that screen.
That's where the twenty seven yard line. They'll bring him in in the boat
and tossed play a nice tackle inthe backfield by Tremaine Thomas. He rags

about Kyler bone and I certainly hopehe is going to be okay in a
in a big way there and uhafter the game, a little bit of
extra curriculars and there's some some issuesgoing on both these two teams, and
during the handshaking line, we hadan issue one of the Smith Station players
that looked like may have tugged orpulled on one of the Open Liker players

and a very dangerous situation almost almosthappened there, and but fortunately it did
not escalate and both of these staffswere able to come over and take care
of things. Mac, we'll getdown the sidelines with you. The best
way to describe that, I think, yeah, yeah, that's that's exactly
how you said what happened there,But you know, nothing bad happened.

(02:28:43):
Everybody kind of separated there. Youknow that both of them knew who did
it, and Coach Peakan just toldthem, you know, just want to
let you know that that's that's whathappened and identify the number and everything.
So I think the core heads justprevailed and all right, just move along.
So he's just coach Peakman' addressing theteam right now and I'll get with

with Coach Peakman. Things a lot, Hey, Coach Peakman, big win

(02:30:09):
tonight. You guys came out thesecond half just like you said during our
halftimes eaterbed, you get a littlebit better, and they showed it right
there. Yeah, I thought weplayed a lot better in the second half.
It's so tough, you know, you come off of that tough loss
last week and you kind of sleepall through through this tonight and just played
a little sloppy. But I wasreally happy with how we came back in
the second half. After we talkedwith them. We got a bunch of

(02:30:30):
stuff cleaned up, and I don'teven know how many points we scored,
but they didn't come close to stopit. Probably the only negative was that
last drive they had you know wherethey went down and score. But other
than that, you know, abig region win. So we'll get put
this into bed and then move onto Enterprise next Thursday, and Coach,
you know, we couldn't we couldn'tmove forward without telling the story. Everybody
saw it. If you're listening in, put on some heartstrings this evening with

(02:30:54):
Kyle Simpson just understatement of a longroadback here and he put it in the
end zone and that's got to bethe greatest feeling for him and this whole
staff and this whole city. Yeah, he's done such a great job and
he's worked so hard to come back. For people that don't know, Uh,
he was one of the guys orone of the kids that got shot
up in davel back in March, and uh, basically if I don't get

(02:31:16):
in trouble for this, but uhhip a violation, But basically he had
six bullets in him and has comeback from a couple of surgeries and has
just worked extremely hard just to getback in, and we had talked to
him about trying to get him backin for the second half of the season,
and uh, he had some reallygood runs. In fact, he
was I was kind of more impressedwith him than I was the other night
when he played in the JV gameand then got a big touchdown, and

(02:31:39):
you know, like you said, just it lifts everybody up. Everybody's been
cheering for that kid to come backand just really just get in a game,
much less get some carries and runthe ball really hard. All right,
Coach, I was sending over toPops and Van, all right,
well Max stole my question, coach, but uh, I'll go into Yeah,
that was awesome, Mikayle Simpson.I mean that was just what we

(02:32:01):
saw it. At first we thoughtit was Jordan still in the game,
and then we saw fourteen and wewere all kind of ecstatic. Talk about
though. Jordan four touchdown night.I called it the Olbunday night. Four
touchdowns at a game. What awhat a night he had running the football.
And he had to step up withCalvin down. Yeah, you know,
Calvin I think got her on thatfirst drive and uh, and then
Javin got a little banged up too, so we went to Jordan, who's

(02:32:24):
worked I mean another kid has justworked hard and has waited his time and
been patient. And uh then wegot Leland bell in a little bit.
But Jordan had a great night forus. Uh. You know, we
even started him i think last weekagainst Auburn. So kid works really hard
and it paid all for tonight.Leland a two way guy to you before.
He'll play defense and he'll run thefootball. Yeah, he's another sophomore
that is a really good player thatwe're just really trying to find something for

(02:32:46):
him to do, uh, tohelp us as a as a young kid,
because he doesn't you know, he'snot really a starter yet on either
side, but can definitely be arole player where so hopefully tonight we found
some things that he can he canhelp us with over the next at least
two weeks and then you know, getting into the playoffs. Yeah, he
found the end zone, So hefound that for you. Yeah. Yeah,
well he does that a lot inthese JV games when we use him
at running back and you know,we have to use him as a DV

(02:33:09):
as well, so you know,he's got a split time and so you'd
really have to limit what he cando. But number one being a sophomore,
and then number two playing on bothsides of the ball. All right,
here's coach Eric. I'll tell youwhat I saw tonight that I love
more than anything else. I don'tknow what you said to him. I'm
through talking to him. You're gonnatalk to him the whole rest of the
year. But I want to tellyou something. Y'all came out of that

(02:33:31):
locker room in the second half andyou took the ball seventy yards and scored
and went up by two touchdowns. That to me was the most impressive thing
that was done all night. Andand we wish you all the luck in
the world. And Simpson reminded meold Fred Beasley used to play for me.

(02:33:54):
Yeah, you know, he's abig child, a big as quarterback.
Yeah he's putting on a little waitand uh, he's about two ten,
so he's tough to tackle. Andyeah, and I tell you you
know he you know, he'd beenlimping a little bit the last couple of
weeks, but I think tonight justhad adrenaline and got him going. And
you really didn't notice that limp onhis left side of his left knees where
he had the surgery. So yeah, but yeah, you're right, it's

(02:34:15):
it's so good to have him back. And just, you know, really
just the the enthusiasm and the energypicked up when he was in. And
y'all right, I thought I didn'tknow Ben and put him in either.
I thought Jordan was still in there, and then all of a sudden I
looked up at him him. Sowe made sure, we made sure we
called three straight running plays to gethim in then zone. Well, you
gotta check on him because Ben Landersalmost tackled him harder than I've seen anybody
tackled all night tonight. Yeah. Then he's a big old boy. He

(02:34:39):
can he can certainly hit some people. Well. And one other thing I
really enjoy, uh. I guessit's because I'm a granddaddy, but I
really enjoy watching the little statemans runall over the field. Yeah, they
left for this stuff. So tellGriffin coaches about ready to trade ship for
Griffin. Yeah, well, Shell, you know he goes at his season's
over. Unfortunately, he had ahe had a good little year this year

(02:35:01):
in Flag. So Jeff, he'sky, you know how it is? With
coaches kids, you had kids thatgrew up. I'm standing by one of
them. They just live to beball boys and live to be down here
with these players. And and I'llbe honest, our kids, our players
do such a good job with them, you know, making sure they won't
say bad words. And yeah, really and take care of these kids when
they're down here, you know, like they basically, uh, these ball
boys have about one hundred and fiveolder brothers. Yeah, absolutely the best.

(02:35:26):
Wah, it's so much fun.And we you know, we have
other ball boys that are down heretoo, So I think you should bring
the whole Falcons crew Thursday to enterprise. Well, listen, listen, God
bless you, and and hey, let's go down there and beat Ben Black.
There will be no better feeling. And go down there on a Thursday
and whip up on Ben so man, and I'll get you to come over
there and help help me with it. Good job, all right, thanks
guys, go dogs. Appreciate it. Coach Eric speaking me down on the

(02:35:48):
field. Our final break coming upall the way forty two to fourteen again
open like a winter tonight over theSmith Station. Panthers will wrap things up
right, wrapping things up here froma Smith's station, our final break here
forty two fourteen. It is abig win for Opalaika tonight. The Dog's

(02:36:09):
improved a four and two in regionplay in four and four on the season
with US win. Next up nextweek have road trip to Enterprise, who
got knocked off tonight by Dothan, and then we'll see that Dothan team in
the final game October twenty seventh forthe final home game at Bulldog Stadium.
So right now, the Dogs messageeasy, win and win and you're in.

(02:36:31):
So, you know, coach,we kind of control our own destiny.
Yeah, I hope. Listen, let's I know you Opel like of
people always travel. Well, let'shave a good trip, good crowd to
go to Enterprise. It would thekids are really gonna need it. And
I'm gonna tell you something. Youfolks didn't see this tonight. You saw
a lot of effort and a lotof good football by our football team.

(02:36:54):
Yeah. Now they play played goodtonight. Certainly we'll slop you at times,
yeah, and know a lot ofthings. But you saw some young
guys step up and grow up tonight. You saw you know, I think
you saw a lot of positives tobuild on. Got to get the dogs
healthy though, Williams, and wegot to check on Hughglely tomorrow and get
ready to go short turn around andSimpson was awesome. Oh yeah, and

(02:37:16):
hey, Gagleno played well now too. He completed like eighty percent of his
balls. Yeah. And a fourtouchdown night for Jordan Waits. Yes,
sir, yes, sir, yes, sir. A lot of good things
tonight forty two fourteen. It's anice win for the Bulldogs tonight with a
Smiths Station Panthers, make sure andstay tuned. Next coming up, we
got the Encore Rehabilitation High School ScoreboardShow with Jered Bavarro, Eddio and and

(02:37:37):
