Surviving Empathy

Welcome to Surviving Empathy Podcast! You can find all our links at https://linktr.ee/bryarpatchmedia. We're all about empathy, kindness, empath talk, exploring the paranormal & weird stuff, plus good mental health & robust living, while maintaining a wicked sense of humor in these seriously weird times! Do check out our new YouTube channel Bryar Patch Media & please subscribe! www.youtube.com/@bryarpatchmedia I'm Bryan Russ & I'm a comedian, author, voice artist, radio personality, chef, humanist, activist, animal lover, fitness runner, & strong realized empath with over 15 years of experience as an energetic empath. Bryar Patch Media is the brand for the podcast, books, comedy albums, videos, and anything & everything I'm working on! Who we are: Energetic empaths, paranormal enthusiasts, researchers, & investigators, mental health & quality of life advocates, freethinkers & freedom fighters who look at the totality of our culture & times to identify any & all regressive/oppressive systems & attitudes in our world. To bring about better clarity, mental, emotional, & spiritual health, advocacy & hope for people & the so they feel more empowered, balanced, happy & free. We're also a resource for empaths & highly sensitive people, & paranormal believers who take on the subject with a balanced, skeptical but open-minded approach! As empaths we have a clairvoyant wisdom to the subject matter. What it's all about: This is a podcast about the paranormal, cryptids, and all unexplained phenomena, as well as a resource for empaths to uncover & better understand the phenomenon in a down to earth & accessible way. We talk about robust mental health for regular people & empaths alike & we take on systems & attitudes that oppress & exploit people. What we care about: We strive to build a community (Empath Tribe) for regular people, empaths, those struggling with mental health imperfections, & people having a hard time finding opportunities, meaning, & balance in this world. We strive for best practices & sustainable outcomes in our culture. We talk about real life stuff in a straightforward & honest way & try to keep the show both impactful, thoughtful, fun & playful as well. Our background: Bryan Russell is the main host of the show, with a background in the military, as an EMT, phlebotomist, massage therapist, energy healer, chef, radio technician & radio personality. My biggest love is being a chef, having worked from Cook to Head Chef & everything in between! When I was in school I came to the realization I had the ability to sense vibes, energies, intentions, & emotions that aren't always my own. I can pick up on residual energies & spirits, often with the ability to sense the past & different types of people & emotions that once inhabited an area, or an actual spirit haunting a location. I'm a full-time comedian, podcaster, researcher, voice artist, author, & lover of the funner, more cheerful, & compassionate side of life. Rebecca Russell is my wife, best friend, & co-host of the show. Also an empath, she & I have come to learn much about the the spirit realm & the unexplained. In real life we're just down to earth people with a relaxed & fun sensibility. Sometimes we're fun-loving & humorous, sometimes we're deep & very real. Rebecca was a medical assistant for over 18 years in a major pediatric office & now works as a customer service supervisor for a major grocery store. We're all about trying to make the world feel more comfortable, fair, less punitive, more classy, fun-loving, & have more positive energy, fairness, dignity, & good cheer. Welcome to Surviving Empathy Podcast! Where humor meets heart! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

On this lighthearted final episode of Surviving Empathy Podcast, Rebecca and I first explore the difference between dark empaths and empaths, and all the ins and outs of that. Then, we'll get into the heart of what this show was always really all about, what we're trying to accomplish, and who we've been trying to help and why. We'll talk about what we learned about podcasting as a medium, and what we learned about the modern world...

On this fun and mind-bending episode, we go down the rabbit hole and consider the existence of possible extra-terrestrials and UFOs, portals, and other possible paranormal phenomenon. There's a new rise in attention and popularity of this once fringe subject that is now gaining a lot of mainstream credibility and attention, causing somewhat of a paradigm shift in our cultural thinking about the subject, and an uproar of attention i...

On this episode Rebecca and I ask the question, where do we go when we've hit a dead end, when we've hit the end of our rope, when we just can't take it anymore, waiting for life to change, get better, and we grow inpatient for the world to get right, and for our ship to come in?! How might we reset and find the patience, wisdom, and a lifeline to not only endure, but continue pushing towards our goals and toward success and valida...

On this light and breezy episode Rebecca and I talk about being empaths, what that entails, and how we as highly sensitive people must detach ourselves from the world out there as social animals enough to lower our stress levels and to find our sense of humanity, sense of humor, and a joy that endures, despite life always coming at us! To find our inner silly heart, and to let go of all those expectations, all the hurt, and all tha...

On this super fun and futuristic episode, Rebecca and I talk about Star Trek and what is it trying to teach us about life, society, and about futurism? Also, what are some of the similarities between the Star Trek agenda and the Progressive agenda, if any, and how can we break the chains of hatred, regressiveness, oppression, and exclusionism in our culture and society today to arrive at a place of best practices, and building a wo...

And so, we want to know how to find comfort and a good fit in a world full of agendas that's actually right for YOU! On this episode Rebecca and I talk about the necessity of balancing exertion and recuperation, and how we could all gain wisdom, perspective, and happiness from simply mastering the art of chilling out and going with the flow more often. We'll talk about the 1997 cult hit The Big Lebowski and some of our favorite things about it, and the philosophy behind "Dudeism" that sprang from it. At the end of the day, we can't hinge our hopes on what's out there in the world, but what's right here in our hearts. We have to find the priorities, purpose, clarity and joy to persevere and overcome our own personal issues and find ...
