Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, so Q and a day, Happy Tuesday, everybody, And
I have my dog up here with me while we're
recording chases. Also here, Chase is not the dog. Kra
is my dog. And normally she's chill, but sometimes she's crazy.
Sometimes I love how you're like, sometimes she's chilling, sometimes
like I don't know what the deal is with her.
But did you see the guy that created so car
(00:23):
is a labor doodle and we rescued her. This woman
at my work, Cathy Soul, she's amazing. She has this
rescue nonprofit named after her dog, Keeley, that she rescued
and Keeley's rescue dogs, and she's amazing. She found this
dog through somebody that helps her with her horses, Like
(00:43):
was over her barn working on her horse and was like,
my cousin has some dog tied up for like a year.
So she basically said, Okay, give me the address, and
she went and got the dog because yes, this dog,
this labor doodle who we now call Carra, was tied up.
We took her in then she almost died the first
(01:04):
night we had her. We walked out into the living
room and it was a puddle of just blood and mess.
We don't even know what happened. And then she we
were like what she just got her like we were
technically fostering her because we didn't know how our kids
were going to take to her. And we thought, okay,
well we'll just take her home with us for a
little while and see how it goes. Call it fostering
if you will. And then she was died. When Ben
(01:26):
took her to the emergency room for dogs, they said that,
you know, had another hour passed, like she wouldn't have
made it. She was lifeless. When we picked her up.
Stevenson was wanting to come downstairs that morning and I
was like no. Then the kids came down They're like, mom,
where's the dog. So it was really dramatic getting her.
So it kind of felt like when she survived after
(01:47):
a week in the hospital, shout out Kathy uh she thought.
I thought, well, this is meant to be, like because
you know, we were there to take care of her
and this happened somewhere else. Maybe she wouldn't have gotten
the care right away, so it just felt like it
was meant to be. But then she's really crazy, so
sometimes I'm like, this is not meant to be because
(02:08):
she's not so so then this article recently came out
about the creator of labor doodles, and he originally bred
them for this woman. I don't I don't know the details.
Maybe she was blind and or the man was blind.
Somebody was blind in a family. But then somebody was
in the family was also allergic to labs or something,
(02:31):
or the the hair that shed from like a guy dog,
and those are good like guide dogs for them or
therapy dogs or whatever. And I really should have I
didn't look up the story. I didn't think we're going
to talk about this, but the main point was going
to say, if you hear a dog breathing in the background,
it's car because she won't stop pacing and breathing and
I don't know why she won't just lay down. But anyway,
(02:53):
he bred the poodle with the lab and now it's
the labor doodle and they don't shed and they're hypoallergenic
and it's amazing. So created the dog for a good
thing for this family. Well it's gotten out of control
and people are breeding them left and right, which I
think Carra was tied up to be bred like. But
they just never got around to it. At least that's
(03:13):
what I heard, Like they were letting her grow up
a little bit and sawn a rope and then they
were eventually, when they got around to it, going to
breed her. But yeah, so anyway, she can't have puppies anymore.
We fixed that. But when we got her, they Cathy
had her groomed and her hair was so grown out
(03:33):
and matted that had grown to her skin. And so
when we got her, like half of her, like the
stripe down her back was missing. I mean, it was terrible.
Like I'm so thankful. I still feel like, Okay, you're
I feel good about the home we gave you and
you're amazing, But like, why are you crazy? She's really sweet,
but she has hardcore. Something's something's wrong. But I was like, well,
(03:54):
maybe that breed or the guy that bred them was
onto something. He's like they just got out of control
and they're a little bit crazy because I always heard
they were so smart. And she doesn't listen to me,
and she's gone to training Kara sit she's just breathing,
she's not sitting. So anyway, that is what is happening here.
(04:16):
And if you have a loop labordoodle and your labordoodle
is crazy. Well, it's probably because of all the breeding
that's been happening and cross breeding and who knows what's
going on inside their little brains. She's cute, though, she's
real cute. Um, okay, so you want to oh, before
we get into the Q and A, I wanted to
(04:36):
share something I saw on Instagram. The thought was so
awesome and spiritual Gangster posted it. They're like a clothing
line sometimes I see them at like yoga studios, but
I started following them on Instagram and they put up
a little post that says control alt delete, and it
(04:56):
stands for control. Well, obviously we know that's on a computer.
That I thought this was cute. Control yourself, alter your thoughts,
delete your negativity. That's awesome. Yeah, And I was like
negative Nancy. When I read this that day, it was
almost like, is this for me? I need to control?
I'll delete myself right now because I was not controlling
myself and I I needed to alter my thoughts and
(05:21):
I was definitely being negative, so I needed to handle
all that. So I thought I would pass that along
in case anybody else was going through that, because it's okay,
we all have times we're just over it and it
just is what it is. Um. I think last Tuesday, Oh,
I need to post that on Instagram. I don't even
know if I brought it up. Actually maybe it was.
On the Bobby Bones Show today. I talked about how
(05:42):
I slammed almond milk. Sometimes stuff isn't running in the
real time that it happened, depending on when we talk
about it. And I saved the videos and I need
to go post it onto my Instagram, So I'll do
that now, um or when we get done recording. But
I slammed all my milk. I got so irritated at
the kids and they were being picky about food and
I was frustrated and I slammed on the milk and
(06:04):
it broke and milk went everywhere, like everywhere. So it
really it made it worse because then I had to
like gather myself and come back in. And then the
kids went off to do their thing, and I was
like in the kitchen, like scrubbing on my knees like everyone,
the ceiling, on the walls, on the lamp shade, you
name it there, I kept finding milk. Kara, who helps
(06:26):
us our kids, She texts me later the day, she's like,
there's milk all over my computer. I was like, my bad.
I had one of those days. But Stevenson even told me,
he's like mom, and you know, he said, you really
need to control yourself. This is later when we were
having a talk about it, and I said, you're right.
(06:47):
You know you're right. And so this also made me
think of that control yourself, alter your thoughts, to eat
your negativity. I think that the second part is where
like I'll can, I can get control of myself. But
it's the next two that I don't write. Sometime that
first instance, I can't control it and I'm like, what
the heck is happening? Like, I know, I don't need
to be slamming down almond milk on the table out
(07:08):
of frustration. But it's it's like this rage that I
feel that I've never and I don't know again, I've
shared with you recently that I've post or on pre menopausal.
I don't know, or there's something about thirty eight thirty nine.
I feel different. My periods are different, my uh, you know,
my uh what is it called, my p MS is
(07:31):
a little bit different, you know, my irritability is different.
I'm just some stuff is just out of control, so
my hormone. So I'm trying to up my fat and
take my healthy fat and take I heard I read
that that might help balance me a little bit. So
been out in some extra brain octane to things. A
little bit of coconut oil here, which essentially is what
(07:54):
brain no octane is. But yeah, back to Stevenson when
he I think this important thing if you're a parent too,
is that we had to we got to have a
real honest conversation about it. He was telling me that
I really needed to control myself, and I was like,
you know what, you're right, I said, thank you for
sharing that with me. And I said, and you know
(08:14):
times where you are not yourself because he just the
other day had a huge tantrum, and you know, it
was like what what who is this kid? But then
I was reminded when he said that to me, I
was like, oh my gosh, well who is this thirty
eight year old woman slamming almond milk on the counter. So,
(08:36):
you know, I said, I got to be able to
use that as an example to him, like how about
you know how y'all you saw me like that and
you didn't like it. Well, when I see you like that,
we don't. We don't like it. So let's work together
to try to remind each other too, you know, keep
it together, to take deep breaths. He likes to go
breathe in and breathe out. Calm down, chill out. So
(09:02):
Stevenson has lots of cute little things like that. Okay,
So anyway, we've been rambling here for a minute. But
I thought the control all delete thing was amazing, So Chase,
let's just it's awesome. Top to the question. This one's
from Molly Hey Amy, I was wondering if you ever
used a poor vacuum. I've seen many ads online and
(09:22):
was wondering if you had any experience, or maybe even
if Carrie Nashville Beauty Girl has any input any thoughts.
I personally have never used a poor vacuum, but this
email stood out to me because I immediately went to
google poor vacuum and it's basically a vacuum for your
face because poores, it can just like suck them right up.
And I found an article where Dr Primple Popper talked
(09:44):
about him a k a. Dr Sandra Lee. Do you
know her? I saw her on a TV show recently. Also,
before I get into this, I feel like lots of
like side stories today. But my dad, I have been
with him a lot lately because he set some stuff
going on, and like helping him change clothes and doing
different things and you know, bathing stuff you love to
(10:05):
do to your dad. And at first I was gonna
say it was just changing clothes, but I was like,
might as well be honest having to obey them good times.
But he has this um. He has this thing on
his back that is straight out of an episode of
Dr Pimple Popper, except for it has not been extracted
and it needs to be and he's had it for
(10:26):
a year and I have been doing I'm sure I've
talked about on the podcast before because I've been dying
to pop it. And for the longest time he was
like you can't. No, no, no, no no. And then
I think he was so appreciative of my care this week.
It was almost like he was giving that to me
as a gift. Like I don't know. It was weird
because all of a sudden I was like, oh, Dad, well,
(10:47):
like I really want to pop that, and he's like,
you can if you really want to, you can, but
now I feel like it needs to be under the
watch of like people care, Like I don't want anything
to get infected. But it is the most amazing. If
you're into popping things right now, either you're into it
and right now you're feeling my excitement and you want
to you're like, yes, video it, it's amazing, or you're
(11:10):
gagging right now and you want me to stop talking
about it. So also talking about it. But if I
do do it one day, I will film it. Do
not worry. It's gonna be epic. So anyway, what Dr
pimple Popper said about the poor vacuum is that it's
it's good to pull out some already loosened black heads.
(11:30):
But she has a concern um, and that's the vacuum's strength.
Like if the section is too high, it's likely to
leave a mark on you, so like it'll give your
face a hickey or a little bruise, and you may
not really want to walk around with that. So just
make sure that it is not too strong if you
decide to use one, And I'll keep you all posted.
If I get tempted and I decided to order one,
(11:51):
I will let y'all know which one I got, I'll
talk to you. Actually, you know how I see tomorrow
is Carrie at the Nashville Beauty Girl. When you say
someone's Instagram handle, do you say at in front of it?
I think you have to in order to clarify that
that's their Instagram. And I don't know if that was
cool or not. I could say on Instagram she's the
Nashville Beauty Girl, but I say hat. Okay, So I
see her tomorrow, so I will ask her and give
(12:13):
you all an update soon as to whether or not
she thinks maybe I should order one if there's a
good one on Amazon to get. Okay, that question? Thank
you Molly for that one. And next one all right? Cool?
This one's from Jennifer Hey, Amy, love your podcast on
the Bobby Bones Show. I know you've shared facial care
tips and products here and there, but I'm hoping you
can point me in the right direction. I bought an
ice roller, so I'm excited to start using that. But
(12:36):
other than that, I'm twenty eight years old with no
skin care routine. I know I need to step it
up as I'm approaching thirty, but have no idea where
to start any tips. Yes, start something, because you're your
skin is probably doing great and you're thinking like, oh,
I've got all this, you that, But I mean the
earlier you start, the better. It's going to be. Everything
you can do right now to be proactive for later
(12:57):
is great. And I would say that starts with a
routine like making sure. It doesn't even have to be
anything crazy, just making sure you're washing your face every night,
you're taking off your makeup. Carrie has been on the
podcast before saying that that is if girls aren't doing that,
then you know, and sometimes you can be blessed and
maybe not have to, but most of us need to
(13:18):
wash our face every single night. Make sure that you're moisturizing,
especially depending on where you live. If it's really dry,
you gotta hydrate, hydrate, hydrate with water and with you
know products. But again, it doesn't have to be anything
crazy or expensive. Um and you know a line I
really want to look into. And I know once I
say this, I'm probably gonna start getting all the emails
(13:38):
because a lot of people sell it. But is the
beauty Counter. And I already have a friend that sells it,
so I'm good. I got the hook. Up. I'll buy
through her. But beauty Counter do you? Are you familiar
with beauty Counter? No? I just started washing my face
like a year ago. Really did you have? So? I
don't know, but I just felt like I've never had
like a skincare routine. But I never really like struggled
(14:01):
with acne or anything when I was younger. Well, my
husband's forty four and we're just forty four. He's not
forty four. My sister's about okay, who's forty four? Like
somebody was just forty four. My husband's forty two and
he uh is like struggling? Is two forty one? I
thought he was forty one. My sister's turning some of
(14:26):
these birthdays in October. My sister was ninety six and
it's October, so she's turning forty four. No, nine, seventy six?
She you have been started a skin? Is that what
you were? He's forty two? Give me a text him.
He was born in ninety seven. Do the math back.
(14:51):
So he's forty two and he really needs to start
taking care of some stuff like he' has the spot.
The reason why I'm seeing Carrie tomorrow is because really
I'm taking him in because he has this scary spot
on his face that might be cancerous and we might
need to take care of it. And Carrie's husbands a
like a dermatologist dude, And I don't know, it's kind
(15:15):
of scary because and not that you can prevent that,
but you also need to be wearing That's my next
thought in a skincare routine is you need to wear
sunscreen every day. You have Chase the skin canser running
your family, not that I'm aware of. Okay, well it
doesn't bins and it's my husband and it doesn't mine,
so I know it's dumb. But yeah, so I think
(15:41):
I would recommend if you don't have a routine, washing
your face, making sure you're moisturizing, making sure you're using SPF,
like start there, you're twenty eight. Also, I would get
on the under eye cream stuff or the that's like
the thinnest layer of skin on your face and where
you can age the quickest is that area and get
kind of just sprinkly. And I were under eye patches
(16:02):
all the time, and I I don't know if it's placebo,
but I do feel like my under eyes are not
as puffy as they used to be and just better.
And I get people might not be able to wear
them all the all the time, but I just make
it part of my monthly routine. There's this Peter Thomas
roth One's the Cucumber Ones, and they keep them in
(16:24):
the fridge and then I put them on every morning
for like ten minutes and it's so soothing and I
feel and it really moisturizes and adds a bunch of
stuff in there that I feel like my eye area needs.
And I feel like because I'm doing it now at
thirty eight, when I'm forty eight, I'm going to be
thankful that I did it, so at you'll be thankful
that you started a little something, Jennifer. And my under
eye patches are all my Amazon page, which you can
(16:46):
find uh at Radio amy dot com. All my favorite
things are up there, all right. This next one's from
Lindsay and she's like, Hey, Amy, I've been following your
journey since your mom was diagnosed with cancer and now
your father. I know you've said you've been worried about
having cancer since it runs in your family. I just
got tested for the b r C A gene a
few weeks ago because I also have cancer in the family,
(17:09):
primarily breast cancer. I'm curious if you've gotten tested for
the mutation gene as well. I have not, but great question,
and I do think it's something people need to be
talking about more of. And I'm glad you got tested.
I know awesome in the email, which we kind of
cut some emails down when we're reading them just for
(17:30):
sake of time. But I know in your email you
mentioned you're waiting on your results, so I hope you
get good news. But you know, whatever it is, you
you can handle it and take care of it. And
that's about being proactive, I think, is if we can
be as proactive with our bodies as possible, that's amazing.
Breast cancer does not run in my family, so I
have not been tested for that. My parents both had cancer,
(17:50):
but not not breast so but I mean, it doesn't
mean I probably shouldn't just go get tested just to
have knowledge of what's going on in my body. Um.
And then if anybody else is listening and you didn't
know that the b r C a gene um mutation
gene like a test for that existed, then hopefully this
may encourage you to look into it. Do your research
(18:12):
and maybe go get tested if breast cancer does running
your family, especially since it's October which is Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, and some people are asking if we had
anything for breast cancer awareness like pimp and enjoy or
UM and right now we don't or es boa like specifically,
but UM we do have, like if you're just looking
(18:33):
for little gifts to give to people in your life
that you know to support them. We have the UM
cancer Fighter tote and it's in pink, which is perfect,
and it says chemo, radiation, cancer, suck it. They suck
it on the toe. I forget sometimes how dramatic that is,
(18:56):
but at the time that we thought of it, it
was actually pretty amazing because my dad was, you know,
fighting cancer, and he was the inspiration behind the cancer
Fighter tote and that's how I felt like at the time.
He was getting chemo and radiation and we just were like,
suck it. This time. We have a pull over to
but the but the tote is pink, so that fits
(19:18):
in with breast cancer and then the money goes to
cancer research in Haiti or cancer Cause in Haiti. UM
so anyway, that's a pink option. We used to have some.
I'll have to see if we still have them. At
the Mary had Pimp and Joy totes and they're pink,
so sometimes those are available if you're looking for something
(19:39):
pink to wear, but just f y, that's little. We
were getting questions if we were doing anything specific, and
we're not, but thank you for the question. Let's see,
(20:00):
all right, This one's coming to you from Caitlin. You've
spoken in the past about avoiding dairy products, and I
was wondering if you could speak a bit on how
you cut it out and what your experience afterwards was.
As far as feeling better. I've read it helps a
lot with clearing up your skin and bloating, but I
was just curious how you felt without it. I felt
way better without dairy, that's just the real truth. And
I love me some cheese, and when I cut it out,
(20:23):
that was really hard. But goat cheese is easier for
your body to digest than any other cheese. So if
you're trying to wean yourself off of cheese, just cut
it straight to goat. If you like the texture and
taste of goat, which lucky me, I do. But I
also really loved like a good sharp cheddar, like I
love a good cheeseboard, but I didn't like how I
(20:43):
felt after I enjoyed a good cheeseboard. So it's kind
of like you have to weigh how how do you
want to feel? And my face did clear up, Like
there was a lot of things I changed in my
diet um around the time that I eliminated dairy. So
it's like, oh, could I attribute to to that one
specific thing, or that I also increased my vegetables significantly
(21:04):
and that I quit eating me and there was all
these things. But I will know. I do know this,
and I will tell you that when I do, because
I've been without dairy for so long, when I do
add it back in for occasional this or that, I
can feel it and I can see it. So I'm like, huh,
now I know my body's reacting to the fact that
I had the dairy. If I do consume it now again,
(21:26):
I try to make it go. Or if I'm going
to have something, I try to make sure it's really
quality ingredients um, or sometimes I have it if I'm
just eating total crap. And that's just the honest truth
that sneaks its way in there. Sneak is if you're wondering,
I still feel great after partaking in a cheeseboard, So
you do? Are you sure? I mean, but I mean
(21:48):
you don't. Sometimes you don't know unless you eliminate it
and then you bring it back in and you're like, oh,
I realized, I'm pretty sure. I feel great. Do you? So?
Do you drink milk like from a cow? Well? Like,
do you drink whole milk cow milk? Oh? Yeah, when
I drink milk, I don't drink a lot of milk. Oh,
you don't know. You don't put it in like smoothies
(22:08):
or anything. No, I do. Greek yogurt Okay, isn't that
from a cow? Yeah? Okay, it's not milk. But yeah,
Kite Hill, So, Kite Hill. It's an almond milk yogurt
or company, and they make a yogurt that is so yummy,
a Greek style and it is delicious. I'm just saying,
(22:29):
we support cows in our Yeah, you support them, and
you also eat them. Chase's family has cows that they sell. Oh,
and also, are we done with this? That's pretty much
off to say about milk, I think, or dairy products
in general, is that. Yes, I saw a change in
myself and my body and how I felt so tested out.
(22:50):
Everybody's body is different, so you gotta just do you
do you. You gotta try eliminate it from your diet
for a little bit, see how you feel. Added back in,
see how you feel. Maybe it literally doesn't affect you.
I can only speak to my experience. But um, I
just checked on the shot Forward website for Pimp and
Joy and we do have the pink tote which is
(23:12):
super cute. And there's also like some UM shirts that
have pink incorporated in them, like some baseball teas that
are super cute that pink and tank tops and stuff.
But as we're entering fall, you may want something more
long sleeve. And since we're talking about fall, Mary did
tell me that the retro repeat Pimp and Joy style
(23:32):
pull over is back in stock and that was limited
and low for a long time, and it's perfect for
fall because it's like red, orange, yellow and it's retro repeat.
It's so cute. It's when we created when we supported
UM Canines for Warriors, ended up buying service dogs for
people because people bought this Pimp and Joy retro line
and it is up so you can find that pimp
(23:54):
and joy stuff radio amy dot com to access it,
but or these shot forward dot com. Whatever, it's easy
for you, Okay, next cool. The last one is from
Rebecca Hey Amy. What is it lumber or lumbar pillow?
Lumbar lumbar? What lumbar pillow are you using? Heard you
talking about using one? And I'm old and I just
wake up feeling terrible and need some relief. Okay, I
(24:15):
don't know. I think you might be talking about the
little Many Infinity roll thing that I ordered on Amazon.
It's not a lumbar pillow, but I mean it's like
this really tiny looking How would you describe this? Well,
I don't have pulled up anymore chaste, but have you
seen it? That little It's like it looks like too
ball like two false, it looks like to to like
(24:37):
what are those racket balls? I think this pre Meto
puzzle thing's going to be really good for the show. Okay,
So I think that's what you're referring to because I
sit with it, like I put it behind my back
in my chair, um while I'm working, and sometimes I
lay on it, but not really in bed. I just
(24:59):
if I'm on the floor, or I'll put it down
and put it in my back or wherever. There's like
a pressure point where it hurts and it helps massage it.
And it's amazing, and it's portable, like you can pack
it can travel with it. It's this little bitty teeny
tiny phone roller like a deep tissue. That's what they
call it. So and that is also on my Amazon page.
There's two that I put on there because one time
(25:19):
one of them sold out. But the one I have
is the marble one that's like swirly turquoise and black,
you'll see it in the picture. And then the other
one is just black. Both fine, but the one that
I originally got was the swirly one, but I put
up another option just in case they sell out again.
Um and Amazon stuff again is radyamy dot com. Did
(25:41):
you keeping? People know that now? But sometimes if you're
multitasking while you listen to a podcast, which I do
all the time, I miss things. So that's why I
was just repeating. And sometimes people are still like, you
have a website, Like last week, Ben, my very own
husband did not know I had a website. Also with
that said, I'm also just did not know how old
he was this episode. But I just got confused because
(26:04):
I was thinking about my sister's birthday and then they're
they're friends, Like I only know my husband because of
my sisters, and then I was like, well is he
her age? But what you have? No words? Have no words? Okay,
Well we're almost done. Is there anything you want to
end on? No? I think that's a good question. That
(26:25):
was a good question. Y'all can keep sending them Four
things with Amy Brown at gmail dot com. I did
get like a really mean email. You didn't in regard
what was the topic the podcast? We lost a listener
and we've lost two in the past. What's the other
one we lost? There was one? You got like that
means we've lost way more because some people are just
(26:47):
gonna quit listening and not right now. They'll definitely right
and so there's only been two. That means there's been tricked.
Your ratings recently you're doing well? What um? What's that's?
What's the topic? Well, I'm trying to find You're supposed
to wrap up and here I'm drawing it out, but
I'm intrigued. I know now I got to find it
because at first, I was like, oh, you know, like
(27:07):
should I even talk about this? But um, she just
said she learned things on my podcast, like she's listened
to the Bobby Bones Show since two thousand and thirteen
and that she no longer can listen because she's learned
some things about me on my podcast. And I made
Nashville's whatever most beautiful list and she's like, I'm sorry,
(27:31):
but by the way, it's awesome, but yeah, go ahead,
thank you. Um. I think maybe I deleted it because
I was like, I just don't need this negativity. I
was like, but just in a nutshell, she what's burden
is that she doesn't think that I should have ever
been nominated for something like that, nor can she listen
(27:53):
to my podcast anymore because she doesn't think that beautiful people, um,
shoot have eating just orders um get bow talks, um
there is another one, oh have premarital sex, um, and
that she really is looking for. These are all things
she's learned about me over a course of a year.
(28:14):
It's not like I talked about bow Talx every episode
by any means, but I have Nashville Beauty Girl on
we talk about it. I'm honest that I have gotten it.
I some of my friends have come on and talk
about it like it's not it's not a big deal
to me, And you know, I wish I could, and
I would rather be honest about it than like one
day I have wrinkles in my forehead and then another
(28:35):
day be like, oh wow, I'm just you know me
me in my forehead, we just have no wrinkles. So
there's that, And then the eating sort of thing really
through me because she's like, I just want to listen
to a podcast that really sends me on a wellness
journey that resonates with me, which I get that may
not be a part of everybody's wellness journey. Oh oh.
The other thing was she can look elsewhere? What else? Uh? Oh?
(28:58):
The Ben and I talked about well, first of all,
my husband and I did not have sex before we
got married with each other. We we made the decision
that we weren't going to write so. But but I
had a boyfriend in the past that I had and
it was I didn't I and at the time I
(29:21):
didn't want to even I mean I it was I
didn't say I didn't want to do that. It was contentual, obviously,
but it was one of those things where that was
not part of the original plan, but it ended up happening,
and I'm being honest about it, But it doesn't mean
that has to If you want to go back to
your original plan, you can, and when you enter a relationship,
(29:41):
you can have a healthy conversation about it, like what
do we want to do? What do we see our
relationship being? Like what are our boundaries? And that's what
we had to do because we knew that it wasn't
gonna be easy. We were like, hey, if this is
a goal, and let's hold each other accountable, let's make
sure that this doesn't happen. So that is she found
that out and apparently that disappointed her, and I'm like,
(30:01):
how in the world. Yeah, I'll tell you this, I know,
but you're not gonna want me to say anything. But
she can no longer being your friend for a while now,
you know, people will ask if they know we're friends.
You know what she really like? And I'm like, she
is literally exactly what you think she's like. Like, listen
to the podcast and listen to her ping pong, you know,
(30:23):
from topic to topic to thing the thing and it
is like you you are so genuine and honest and
do all of that sharing with good intention and good intention,
I don't know. Some people may not find me genuine.
I know that in my life I'm not always totally.
I don't have to be transparent about everything, and not
that I haven't, but I try to because I feel
(30:46):
like then we cannot feel alone in certain things. And I,
for whatever reason, ended up on this crazy journey where
I'm on the Bobby Bones Show. I never thought that
would be my path. I never thought I would be
sharing anything, and now here we are with the podcast
and I get to share more, which I never thought
(31:08):
I would be. But studio amy trying to I feel
like we need to name this. Oh we're recording at
my house in the studio, so yeah, what should we know?
The dog quieted down, It's like she's not even here anymore. UM,
I don't know what we should call it. We should
get some input on that eventually. Book. I was just
thinking that this needs a name. Send us. Names are first,
like in studio guests here is going to be Tricia
(31:31):
year would at the back by popular Trishia Wood's coming back. Um.
And then later this week I'm interviewing Bob Goff which
I'm super excited about. I don't know if I'm more
excited for you or but I think that's going to
be probably like one of the coolest interviews you've ever done.
I just reread that book for the fourth time. Love Does,
(31:53):
So if you're curious to Bob golf Is, check out
that book. Yeah, Love Does, and everybody does. And you
can follow on Instagram like he is and he's just
he's a p is a force of nature. And you
will hear that when you hear the interview. Yeah, my
friend Ali is friends with Bob and his wife, and
I was texting her about it and she was like,
(32:13):
oh my gosh, this is gonna be amazing. She said
that I might have to rain him in though at
times like keep him but actually and I was like,
I said, Ali, do you know who you're talking to?
And she was like, oh, good point. So uh yeah,
somebody's gonna have to rain both of us. And so
it seems because we might both be all over the place,
(32:35):
but I'll be in the background, Yeah, like raining, I'll
hold up cue cards. Who else we have m Annie
downs in the future. Annie Downs, There's a few surprises.
What are what are these surprises you're talking about. Oh,
you know who legit we're talking to this morning is
(32:56):
Craig from Southern Charm who makes the pillows. He's going
to be in Nashville this weekend, so we should probably
just have him come here so that and then you're
gonna be talking with the Christian group from Australia for
Keen Country Country have that big song with Ms Dolly
Parton right now. Um, we'll hopefully get Dolly one day.
(33:16):
I'm still putting that out into the universe because she
hasn't been dazzled. Oh, Kristin Chenowith already interviewed her, but
it's gonna air soon. That'll be awesome. Um. People were
loving the daniel Walker interview UM last week and then
Hillary Scott the week before. So if those are two
Thursday four Things episode you missed, like, I'm getting a
(33:39):
lot of good feedback on those because Danielle is just amazing,
Like she's cool, and I'll say, like, I I listened
to that just because I was curious who she was
um and speaking to like the different perspectives. I really
appreciated learning what I learned about her and kind of
her journey. So I did enjoy that one. I know
she had little NUGGETSA was them soda Hillary Like I
(34:01):
thought they were too really great. But you've got some
exciting ones coming up. Okay, so just stuff to look
forward to. And then I guess before we close, I'll
just remind you all if you are heading over to
UM do any shopping through Pimp and Joy or four
Things totes or a spa or anything like speaking of
the totes we're we're I'm just going to keep reminding
(34:24):
you all that it's never too early to start your
Christmas shopping. Oh I need help people always. I mean,
it's such a great gift because it's so personal and
thoughtful and then it's cute. But you do have to
think ahead. And we just are really trying to be proactive,
like drilling into people that go ahead and just order them.
Get it off your list. Because when it's December tenth
(34:47):
and you're wanting to order a four Things tote and
we have to do the cut off where we can't
make it in time and mail it to you, it's
we're just gonna feel bad. So that is that is
that what you're gonna do. No, I'm sitting here, I've
got this idea now for you and Mary, what is
it think you guys need to do like a special
like guy's hotline or email address where they can submit
(35:08):
and get help, because like I want to get it
for some of the women in my life and I
know like their favorite things, but I don't know how
to make it like the way you all fine tune
it and put them in orders. Yeah, you like you
have to think about order and what looks good together,
Like sometimes you can't have you know, dog as the
first thing and then super Califradus guys is the second thing.
(35:32):
Like it doesn't work. I mean there's a character limit,
but obviously I'm being yeah extreme, but it totes look
best when the words flow together, Like it's like kind
of you know, like a shorter word than a little
bit longer than that than the longest thing you have
and then back to a little bit shorter Like to me,
that looks really good on a toe in the character limit,
(35:54):
I say about sixteen to seventeen characters looks good or less,
but I think the limit is might be a little
bit more than that. But anyway, it doesn't matter. It's
a great gift, and yeah, we can help out the guys,
and then also too, if you know how to work hashtags,
if you search the hashtag for things tote, you'll find
(36:16):
all kinds of inspiration there, like all kinds. And Mary's
coming in town actually this Thursday, so she'll do the
Q and A with me next week. For next Tuesday,
she'll be on and then I think we're going to record,
probably not this weekend, but eventually Mary and I are
going to record a what did We Holiday Gift Guide
(36:36):
episode to help you all with shopping for Christmas and stuff.
And then our journals are rocking. We got like the
proof back from It's funny because the people we hired
to do it and they're out of Chicago. We just
kind of found all this out. We've never printed on
(36:56):
paper before any of this. But we're working on it
for like a year, with a lot of time in
between not working on it, and then finally when we
got excited and we're like, we have to do this,
we just went heads down for like and it took
us like a month. If we lived in the same city,
we could have knocked it out faster, but we don't,
so we got it done. And I guess the people
in Chicago. They have a London office. So it's kind
(37:18):
of funny. It feels fancy when we talk about it,
but it's probably not, especially because we have no idea
what we're doing. But she'd be like, well, the London
office emailed and they have our proof ready, and I'm like, oh,
and I like nudge my husband been. I say my
husband band because sometimes maybe all don't know him, but
I nudge beIN and I'm like, the London office has
it ready. It just makes it more official to say
(37:38):
the London office. It's yeah, and it's showed me a
little bit. It's awesome. I whenever I saw it in
completion digitally, which they're print they're making us the proof
now and it will take us like take like a
week or two to get the proof and then once
we okay, that will print however many But and we're
thinking about doing a pre order. So if you think
(37:59):
that's something you would be into, which we're trying to
figure out the details of what that would look like,
then you know, let us know. But I think that
that that that's possible and doable, but like, what would
we do with that, Like what's the incentive to pre order? Um?
But we just want to make it, but they will
be in time for Christmas. I've been getting some emails
(38:20):
asking when will they be available, and what we can
say now is given the timeline is that you will
have it in time for Christmas gifts. Um, so that
would be awesome. The pre order may happen well before that,
but you know, it's just nerve wracking but also exciting.
That's I think what I was getting to is when
when when I saw the digital I was like, I
(38:42):
feel like we just gave birth to something amazing and
I haven't even seen it yet, but I was giddy
and I haven't gotten giddy about that something like that.
I've got a few random texts and I'm like, she's
like pumped on this. Yeah, I'm so excited. It's definitely
gonna be a gift that I would encourage you, Like
it's perfect for You're gonna want to buy more than
(39:04):
one because like you want to do this with somebody,
Like you want to do it either with like your siblings,
your family, your girlfriend. Yeah. Like because Amy told me
to start doing this back in January and I've done
it for almost a year, just like by myself, and
then I had a few buddies that started doing it,
and it's you just write down four things every day
they're grateful for and it's super simple, but it is
(39:27):
game change and you don't have to have one of
these journals to do it. We just wanted to create
a journal for people that wanted something to hold them
accountable that wasn't intimidating, that gives them a guide. We
have some cute little surprises that are going to be
inside of there that we hope you all will love,
and I can't wait for all to see them, but
we we I get giddy when I opened it up.
(39:49):
It's some surprises to where people might open up be
like what this doesn't even make sense? But to me
and Mary, it makes sense and it's amazing. Like one
of Mary's us friends saw one page and was like,
I don't get it, and Mary and I were like,
we get it right. They might be like I don't
(40:10):
get it. What is she talking about? But you know,
we wanted it to be a reflection of it is
for everybody, but we wanted our touch on it. So
therefore it has our touch, which includes some things that
might confuse some people. But it's fine. I'm curious. Yeah,
it's gonna be awesome. I cannot wait. Even if you're
confused by one or two of the pages, all the
(40:32):
other pages will be fine. But um, okay, I'll quit rambling.
This might be the longest Q and A episode after
keep going. I just feel like I had a lot
to talk about today, and I guess we should also
mention that drinking a zevia. Why are you making that face?
That great fruit citrus? Why I brought you orange? It's
over there. You didn't bring it even I brought it
(40:56):
to you before we started recording, because every time we
record a Q and A, we drink a Zevia. Well, thanks,
I'm gonna go pop that open. Okay. Um, husband, if
you're listening to this, I know how old you are,
And happy birthday back on September two, because that's your birthday.
I know his birthday. I would hope
