At the end of Volunteers Week Home Start Butser Chair Linda Bazant (who is a barrister) thanked their 81 volunteers for all they have done in the last record breaking year.

They helped 263 families and 371 children.

On Thursday 5 June they had a lively drinks reception, a meal, and goodie bags as a token of thanks.

Home Start Butser, who raise all their own funds are newly sponsored by KJ Smith, local solicitors.

Debbie, the owner of Hairdressing for Men on Chapel Street, has worked in the shop for 26 years and took over the lease 20 years ago this month and hopes her daughter, who also works in the shop, will take over when she retires after more than 40 years in the business.

The place to be on Bank Holiday Sunday was the Skate Park off of Budds Lane in Bordon.

It didn’t matter what age you were. It was all about turning up with you skateboard, scooter or BMX bike and having fun.

Run by Whitehill Town Council and the Whitehill and Bordon Community Trust for the third year. It proved to be as ever popular.

Organisations are thanking all their volunteers this week.

There was a Strawberry Tea 'Thank You' Party at Winton House - moved indoors as the rain fell - for their volunteers who run the cafe, the information desk and the gardening, amongst other things.

Petersfield Town Council  unanimously appointed Chris Paige, Town Councillor for Rams Hill, as Petersfield’s new mayor at its meeting on 29 May 2025.

Cllr Jamie Matthews, for Bell Hill, is the new Deputy Mayor.

After successfully running a craft beer bar with their own Brewery in Chichester, owners Tom and Steve have now opened one The Escapist in Petersfield.

It's open every day except Mondays, from 3pm.

Tom and Steve spoke to Mike Waddington about why they hope to replicate their five year success in Chichester with their own beers and ciders (and wines and spirits) and why they chose Petersfield.
