Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the stuff that's hard to talk about. It's
Chris Kaya Sam. I mean, this stuff hits our format.
We're a fun I mean, we like doing the fun
stuff on the radio. We're a distraction. We love to
be a distraction all the stuff going on in the
world and overseas and everything else. You know, we like
to bring a lot of humor to the show and everything.
But boy, something like this hits and it affects our format.

(00:21):
It's a big deal. And I think going into it,
we try to keep our accusations at Bay, not just
meaning us, but everybody listening to and just this is
why we have a court system, right But the elephant
in the room and in our format, which we're not
going to ignore, but we're not going to pontificate or
speculate because it's not our position to do that. But

(00:43):
it is our position when everything's blown up or the
story's a story like this blows up, meaning what's going
on with Darth Brooks right now, you don't ignore it
and shove it aside. This is our position. I mean,
you see it on TMZ, you see it on CNN,
the Associated Press and everything else, and all of a sudden,
you know, sometimes radio goes no. Garth is accused of

(01:05):
sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit that was fouled
yesterday in Los Angeles. So, like I said, going forward,
you just convey what we know and maybe with that
a little of what we don't know. But it's you know,
people have come to this radio station for so many years.
We were part of the beginning of this man's career

(01:25):
a long time ago, you know, and when things go great,
we're there. When things go bad, I guess we put
forward the facts that we know. And right now it
doesn't look good in the Garth Brooks camp. But what's
what is happening? A long time makeup artist and a
stylist for Tricia his wife, Tricia yearwould I guess she
had been with Tricia Lake since nineteen ninety nine, right,

(01:46):
and obviously you know Garth and Tricia been married for
years now. She alleged that Garth forced himself on her
during her work trip, I believe in Los Angeles in
twenty nineteen. The lawsuit was filed under the name Jane
Rowe to keep her animinity and again she'd been working
for Tricia for a long time, and she started working

(02:07):
for Garth a few years ago, like I said, back
in like twenty seventeen. The stuff that happened, I guess
was twenty nineteen, a couple of years before that she
started working for Garth. Apparently it's a very graphic lawsuit itself.
We're not getting into all of that. We wouldn't in
any case about anyone ever. And she alleges that she

(02:28):
was assaulted on multiple occasions. It also alleged that John
Doe and our Garth Brooks went to federal court in
Mississippi recently and tried to stop this lawsuit from becoming public.
This is just what we know that is being put
forth right now by the sources, you know, being who
this person is. We don't really know her name. She's

(02:50):
going by Jane Rowe. And then what Garth, you know,
what's coming out of Garth Camp a little bit as
well here and we'll get to that here in just
a second. Garth denied all these accusations. Basically, it was
alleged that John Dori Garth Brooks went to federal court
in Mississippi to order in order to stop the lawsuit
from becoming public. Garth denied the accusations in court and

(03:12):
claimed that if her allegations were released to the public,
it would do quote substantial, irreparable damage to his reputation
and livelihood. Absolutely that would In a statement last night,
Garth denied allegations again. He said, for the last two
months what Garth said, for the last two months, I've
been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic
tales of what my future would be if I did

(03:35):
not write a check for many millions of dollars. And
he goes on to say this is Garth. He says,
it's been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
And then he goes on to say that he refuses
to pay hush money because well, that means that he
was admitting to behavior that he did not do. So
he vehemently denies what is being what he's being accused

(03:58):
of from Jane Row. He ended the statement with I
trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and
I am not the man they have painted me to be.
Now all of society comes out and says, well is
that true? And all the pundits come out, and the
drive buys on social media and everything else start. They

(04:20):
start drumming up their stuff which we're not going to
do on the radio. That's all we know, right, So
what do we have you got? If this is something
that did happen and Garth did it and it goes
through court and everything else, everyone will probably have a
very different opinion of Garth Brooks. If it didn't and
it's proven through court like it should and goes through

(04:41):
the system, everyone will have a very strong opinion of
who this person is and what the intent is behind that.
That's all we know.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Yeah, Yeah, And I just think it's one of those
situations where it's terrible either way. If this is a lie,
this is terrible. If it's true, it is even more terrible.
But regardless, what a terrible and difficult situation to be
in for both sides because this is just a mess,
and it's really hard because you had a lot of

(05:09):
people that'll come out and they'll have their opinions on it,
and we don't know anything. You really, you don't know
what the truth is. So you really just need to
wait and just see justice will be served either way
and we will learn the truth eventually.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Yeah. You can already see with headlines where certain people
are being swayed and then the comments, and then somebody
else comments in somebody else's comment. I mean, let the
court do its thing. There are people far more versed
in the law than we are and in deciding this
stuff than we. This jockey's on a radio station, and

(05:44):
I don't you know, I mean, this is a part
where I could go in and talk about my past
experiences with Garth and everything else. He's been very close
to the format obviously, and I don't think it's a
place to even do that. It's just these are the facts.
This is what's in front of us right now. So
you got to let all that play out. But for
a radio station that has been playing his music for many,
many years and to just come on and ignore it

(06:06):
and just go on, and I just don't think that's
fair either. No, you know, but I think everybody elso
needs to take a step back because some people sit
and they just when you read all this stuff online,
they go into a tack mode one way or the other.
Or she's lying or he's lying. You don't know. I
mean it all this will all come out because both
has happened before. People have walked away. Look the Johnny

(06:28):
Depp case and one example, the Epstein case and another
example just with both sides vehemently defending themselves and well,
somebody is probably it wrong here, so we don't know who.
I guess Epstein was a bad example, but just another celebrity.
You get what you get some celebrities that have never
haven't done anything at all and they are innocent that

(06:50):
what they've been accused of and it didn't happen. And
then you have other celebrities where they you know, I
don't need to go over the list of those guys,
but they've done bad things, men and women. So it's
up to the courts to decide. And that's why we're
in America and this wonderful system that we have. That's
you know, Doug got it. You just pray that it

(07:10):
works right. I'll get to the bottom of it.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Anything else now about it, Well, you can go to
the Chris car and Company Facebook page and you can
read girth statement as well as have the details on
the lawsuit itself if you're interested in reading more about it.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
By the way, I can't tell anybody what to do,
even on our page, but I hope that the vitriol
just goes away. Yeah, you know me, it's somebody I
don't know what's common sense anymore. You know, the internet
is just if people are firing shots. I kind of
hope that doesn't happen here. But you're free to do
whatever you are, You're free to make a comment. So,
but there's a major player in our format, and there's

(07:44):
a lot of news about them right now. What's the truth?
That's up to the courts to decide, not for three
disc jockeys or even you.
